If I see one more stupid take on the stop oil van gogh protest im gonna lose it so in bullet points:
The painting is fine. It was behind glass. The person who threw the soup knew it was behind glass beforehand.
The UK is entering a cost of living crisis unlike any we've seen before (with the possible exception of Thatcher's Britain back in the 80s), and many people cannot afford to heat their homes. While oil and energy companies report record profits.
The point of this exercise was to demonstrate how much more people would care about even the thought of a painting being destroyed, compared to the reality of the lives that WILL be destroyed over the winter. When they can't yknow. Afford to eat or heat their homes.
No, they are not funded by Big Oil. Just Stop Oil DOES receive funding from the climate emergency fund which WAS started by Aileen Getty, yes. But she has zero active investments in the oil industry, and HAS spent a large amount of money sponsoring climate groups. Think of her as the Abigail Disney of oil.
The source of that conspiracy theory is a tiktok video and its mostly being reported in the telegraph which. Kinda says everything.
For people saying stuff like "but it had nothing to do with oil! Why don't you egg the houses of execs <3 Why don't you riot 😊 Why don't you kill oil execs uwu OK why don't you? I mean jesus be realistic. The rioting may come yet but this was a PUBLICITY STUNT. To raise awareness for their organisation.
If you are not from the UK/are from the UK and not familiar with the new protest laws, please refrain on commenting at all about method of protest.
The bill is as follows:
" [to] Widen the range of conditions that the police can impose on public assemblies to match existing police powers to impose conditions on public processions."
" [to] Broaden the range of circumstances in which police may impose conditions on a protest."
" [to] Amend the offence relating to the breaching of conditions"
" [to] Restate the common law offence of public nuisance in statute."
Meaning, any people doing ANYTHING the police don't like (up to and including holding BLANK SIGNS which happened after the queen died) can now result in arrest and forced dispersal (ie police violence). (There are more lines to the bill ive just chosen the ones relevant to this situation, but they're all on the gov website)
(Side note): I actually just read the page on gov.uk which I went on to copy the law and jesus christ they outright blame BLM protests for this. Like explicitly.
I BELIEVE i saw a story not that long ago about someone arrested under this bill being held without trial for like, months but I can't remember the details
In short people in the UK now have to get increasingly creative with how we protest, so as to avoid significant sentences. The two in this case were arrested for trespass instead of under this bill, which carries a significantly more minor penalty.
Shift your goddamn focus away from stupid conspiracies for a second and pay attention to what is happening in REALITY.
(If any of you make comments or send me stuff about this without at least attempting to fact check yourself beforehand im not responding, and deleting.)

Hello there lovely, is there any chance that you could write something - anything really idc if it's a drabble, hc or oneshot- involving tatted Crosshair and his send nudes tattoo?
No pressure of course. love your stuff and keep it up^^
have a nice day <3
This was only meant to be a drabble but I got carried away.
And yes I know this fic starts off almost identically to one of my other fics (I think it was one of the follower celebration ones) but for this specific fic I needed to reuse an old trope dont @ me please I've had writers block (;¬_¬)
This is also another one of my classic medic!reader fics because I wanted it to be gender neutral and doc is the easiest gender neutral nickname I can come up with.
I am not a creative person lmao.
anywho, this is based off of @cloned-eyes absolutely sinful art, which is honestly some of my favorite Crosshair art of all time.
Rating: E (18+) Warnings: Sexting (I think that's it lmao) Words: 2200+
Been a while since ive written anything this long so i hope my writing is still up to snuff

Where could he be? Where on this maker forsaken facility could he possibly be? You storm through the halls of Kamino looking for Wrecker, the errant clone needing to come and see you for updates to his immunisations before he or the rest of clone force 99 are allowed back out into the field.
It’s not surprising that he’s avoiding you, out of all of them, Wrecker is by far the worst with needles. The man can’t stand them, avoids you like the plague when he knows that it’s time to keep his vaccinations up to date and for what its worth you can’t really blame him. No one enjoys needles.
You huff and place your hands on your hips as you think about where the lovable giant could possibly be. You’ve already checked the mess, the armoury, the Marauder and the training centres with zero sign of him. When you got to the marauder Tech just gave you that look that says, “I understand you need to find him but I’m not going to rat him out” and while you often applaud clones for their loyalty to one another, when it stops you from doing your job it makes you want to rip your own hair out in frustration.
You make your way over towards their barracks, hoping and praying to whatever deities that will listen that you’ll find him and be able to get on with the rest of your job. You take a deep breath, standing out the front of their doors, before keying in your medical override and stepping inside.
You don’t find wrecker, and you wish you had knocked.
Standing in front of you is Crosshair, in just a towel, dark lines of ink on full display over his tanned body. You’ve never actually seen him without his shirt on before, never needed to. The sniper usually manages to stay out of trouble and doesn’t need any assistance when the boys return to Kamino so you had no idea he was covered in tattoos.
You run your eyes over his chest, taking in all the impressive art that litters his toned form. The silhouette of his beloved 773 Firepuncher that stretches along his chest, the artfully done letters of aurebesh that stretch above his stomach, the other smaller words and phrases that extend down his hips, tantalizingly low, slightly obscured by the fabric of the towel that’s gripped in his left hand.
You run your eyes up his arm towards his face, knowing that he’s going to be wearing that sickeningly infuriating smirk of his and wanting to avoid the cliché “Like what you see?” you know he’s going to drawl at you like you’re in some terrible holodrama.
As you brace yourself to face him, your eyes catch on a single phrase tattooed on his left arm, slightly more patchy and faded than his other ink as if it were the result of a drunken night out in some shady tattoo parlour in the Uscru District of Coruscant. Two simple words that have a profound effect on your physiology causing even more heat to rush to your face, deepening the blush that you know is already far too pronounced on your cheeks and ears.
“Send Nudes”
You finally have the courage to snap your eyes up to his and just as you expected you’re greeted by his frustratingly handsome smirk, his eyes boring into yours, as if he’s waiting for you to say something, as if this is going to be the final nail in the coffin for your poorly hidden mutual attraction to one another that’s been simmering the last few cycles that’s threatening to reach boiling point as you maintain eye contact.
You lamely open and close your mouth trying to find something to say to the barely covered man in front of you before he decides to end your suffering, breaking the silence with the just as cliché “See something you like doc?” he raises an eyebrow at you before walking over towards his bunk, reaching into a pouch on his discarded armour and producing a toothpick, slipping it between his lips as he looks you up and down.
“I um-” you finally look away from him, suddenly finding the old training posters above his bed intensely interesting trying to figure out what to say to him as if you weren’t just ogling his naked chest and arms for an unprofessionally long amount of time.
You clear your throat “I was just looking for Wrecker… he needs his shots” your eyes dart around the room, avoiding his smug, self-satisfied face for as long as humanly possible.
You cringe at how your voice falters, yours and Crosshair’s interactions are always a battle of wits and snark, constantly trying to one up each other as the rest of the batch endeavour to ignore your vague attempts at flirting with one another. Both of you trying your best to goad the other into making the first move, dancing around the invisible line you’ve both drawn in the sand but never crossed.
From the corner of your eye, you see him walk towards you, you see his arm adjusting the towel around his hips and your eyes are drawn to that stupid tattoo on his arm again, the one that makes you want to throw professionalism out the window and jump his bones regardless of any regulations or rules that would get in the way and muddy the waters.
“Wrecker’s not here” his voice has dropped an octave, as if getting you alone in his room has made him realise that there is nothing physical stopping the two of you from muddying the waters of your relationship and taking that final step. You swallow the saliva that’s started pooling in your mouth, attempting to remind yourself that you’re on duty, you’re in the barracks, any one of the rest of his squad could walk through those doors at any moment an interrupt whatever lewd and improper things you both want to do to one another.
While you were wrestling with your own thoughts and feelings you miss how close he’s managed to get to you, his silent footsteps bringing him directly in front of you and you stare up at him. Has he always been this tall? You lock eyes with him, neither of you saying anything as you just stare at one another, each of you silently willing the other to close the distance between the two of you and take the leap.
He begins moving his face closer to yours, his warm breath brushing over your face, it smells minty you vaguely register as you move your face closer to his, closing your eyes and the distance between the two of you when suddenly you hear loud, boisterous laughter approaching from the other side of the door.
You curse under your breath. Despite this being the whole reason you’re in the barracks to begin with, you would give anything for a few more moments alone with Crosshair. Both of you pull away from one another, Crosshair grabbing a spare change of blacks and walking back into the refresher before the door to the barracks opens and you see the wayward clone himself stare at you with wide eyes. He knows he’s got nowhere to run now as you fix him with a glare that one would assume is because of the amount of time and effort you put into finding him and not because of the fact he just interrupted… whatever was about to happen between you and Crosshair.
You walk out of the barracks with Wrecker in tow, attempting to push whatever it was that was happening with Crosshair to the back of your mind, at least for now.
After another few hours on duty, you finally return to your quarters, sore exhausted and replaying the interaction you had with Crosshair over and over again in your mind. No matter how you try to distract yourself, whenever you close your eyes, you see the dark lines of ink that cover his sculpted body. Does he have more tattoos? Do the go lower? You mind is reeling, and you can’t focus on anything else, you can’t even sleep all you can think about is stupid Crosshair with his stupid tattoos and that stupid send nudes tattoo he has on his stupid arm.
You sigh, picking up your datapad in a vague attempt at tricking your brain into doing something productive when you get an idea. Arguably a terrible and stupid idea that could have a negative affect on your career but… an idea, nonetheless. Sighing and shaking your head you throw your datapad down onto your bed as you stand up to take a shower.
No… this is a terrible idea.
You undress and stare at yourself in the mirror. Maybe… its not a terrible idea? Your mind keeps going back to his tattoos and you decide to throw caution to the wind. Walking back into your bedroom you snatch up your datapad and open an encoded chat with Crosshair’s personal frequency double and triple checking the recipient to make sure what you’re about to do doesn’t end up in the wrong hands before steeling your nerves and standing in front of the mirror. The lighting isn’t the most flattering but you don’t let yourself dwell on that for too long before you strike what you hope is an appealing pose and taking a series of pictures, attempting to highlight your assets.
You flick through the pictures selecting the ones you think are the most flattering and before you have a chance to second guess yourself you send them through to Crosshair with the caption “As instructed”.
You wait for a moment, encrypted chats don’t have notifications for when the recipient has seen the messages so you wait with baited breath for a response. When one doesn’t come immediately you throw your datapad down onto your bed and run your hand through your hair, deciding that maybe he’s just not looking at his datapad right now you finally take your shower, attempting to wash away your nerves and embarrassment, pushing your fear of rejection out of your head as you let the warm spray wash over you.
When you exit the shower and towel yourself off you look at your datapad and see a reply from Crosshair. Your breath catches in your throat as you move to open the message and see that it comes with an attachment.
Holding your breath, you open the attachment only to be greeted by a picture of Crosshair, standing in the refresher in his barracks, wearing only a pair of loose fitting black pants that are pulled down to his thighs revealing what can only be described as the nicest cock you have ever seen. You’ve never thought that cocks were attractive before, but somehow he’s managed to change your mind. It’s long and thick and the way his slender fingers wrap around his girth makes your mouth water.
After spending far too much time searing the sight of it into your memory you read the text that he sent along with the photo just one simple word; “More”.
You dive into bed, datapad in one hand, legs spread however before you get a chance to take and pictures you receive another message from Crosshair, this time there is no text, only a video. You open it and press play.
You watch in pure delight as the recording of Crosshair’s hand moves over his hard, weeping length, his fingers tightening as he gets to the tip creating more pressure around the head. Small sighs and choked breaths can be heard from the audio as his hand works his cock and just as the video ends you swear you hear a whisper of your name.
You scramble to return the favour, attempting to capture the best possible angle as you manoeuvre one hand down between your legs to begin working yourself over. You have the luxury of not needing to share your living space with anyone, so you put on a bit of a show, moaning and whimpering and gasping his name as you touch yourself and push yourself over the edge with a final long moan of his name. Your chest rising and falling as you hit send before you can change your mind or second guess yourself.
Not long after that you receive the final video of the night, your mouth waters and you can feel heat rushing down south again as you watch Crosshair vigorously stroking his cock, muffled gasps and groans coming from his end as he works himself, the head of his cock is so red it’s almost purple and you can see beads of precum leaking out of the tip and running onto his hands as he brings himself closer and closer to the edge. You watch as he bites his lip, face contorting in pleasure as the lines of ink on his skin move with the rise and fall of his chest as he struggles to stay quiet.
He screws his eyes shut and bites his lip so hard you think you see him break the skin, as he stifles a moan of your name, spilling ropes of cum over himself, his hand and his chest, panting before the video ends.
You get one other message from him on the encrypted channel.
>Might need to see you in medbay tomorrow for a busted lip

How to Stop Spinning Your Wheels and Write
First: mental health is real. If you are in burnout, take care of yourself because if you push yourself in burnout, you can prolong it. You might want to try some of these things to keep being creative during burnout, but don't force yourself.
Take care of yourself.
Try more creative outlines. I don't outline the way most people think of it. I outline with moodboards that nobody but me can understand, including main characters, relationships, side characters, and aesthetics. It makes sense to me and, when I look at it, I know exactly what I want each picture to do and say and why it's in the space it's in. If you are more visual, you can try that or a Pepe Silvia-esque string board. You can even try a playlist that is one song per chapter to convey the mood and repeat songs as needed. Don't take forever to do this; spend no more than a day or two and then get to writing.
Instead of a character sheet, writing the same scene from the POV of every character in a given chapter so you learn more about them. Character sheets can get some of us really in the weeds and we focus so much on whether or not our characters like punk vs classical music and certain fashion tastes that are ultimately not going to be on the page. That's not to say knowing these things are bad, but you can also get to know your characters by writing how they view each other and certain situations and by doing that, you also learn their motivations in each scene.
Just write 100 words a day of the project. That's it. Or a page in a notebook or 15 minutes of a sprint. Give yourself a small, reachable, tangible goal where you can see your writing grow. 'But I don't know where the story is going!' That's OK! It doesn't have to be perfect. You can write four pages and realize it's going nowhere and then cross it all out and start again. Pros do that, too.
If you're writing SFF, identify if you have Worldbuilder's Disease. What is this? It's when you spend all your time building a world for a story and you never get around to the story because the world isn't 'finished'. Tolkien didn't finish building his world. Last time I checked, GRRM never created more than 7 words of High Valyrian; David J. Peterson did for GOT. If you have Worldbuilder's Disease, make a checklist for what you absolutely need and if you have 75% or more done, you write and worldbuild on alternating days until you have what you absolutely need. By then, you should also have a better understanding of your characters and plot. If worldbuilding is your passion, you don't have to abandon it; but if it's stopping you from writing the story you want to tell, at some point, you do need to stop focusing on the worldbuilding and on the story.
If your perfectionism is the problem and you feel that draft one has to be perfect, this is going to be harder for some people than it is for others. For some people, accepting that draft 1 isn't going to be the end result is by calling it 'the shitty draft'. For others, it's by doing a draft zero, which I believe comes from screenwriting, and you write an unstructured draft with all your research and pants the hell out of it. For some people, that is draft one, for others, its a way to trick their brain into not putting too much pressure on themselves. Let yourself infodump in the draft if you have to. Get a cheerleader or enabler.
Get yourself an accountability buddy. Find someone in your friend group who also has a novel they want to write or a piece they want to learn how to play or a game they wanna finish, set a date for when it needs to be done that is reasonable, and check-in with each other. New Years' Resolutions don't work for most people, but cheering on a friend and them cheering you on and having someone who will ask you 'how's the book coming?' and listen to you when you talk about the best and worst parts of the week can be really effective to stopping yourself from going back to spinning your wheels.
Get a critique partner. Can be someone you met in fandom if you both are coming from the fanfic world or critique circle or a writing group in your area. If what you need is feedback, put yourself out there to get it.
Carrot method. If what you need is a treat, find a treat within your budget. Some people get a cupcake on Fridays if they met their writing goals four days in a row. Others treat themselves to a literary magazine subscription or a new hardcover book if they hit their goals for the month. If what you need to do is watch an episode of your favorite TV show after writing 800 words that night, do it. My personal variation of this is writing 500 words of the main project before I can work on other projects. Some days, I never get to the projects and others, I breeze right through and then get to do a whole short story I've wanted to write all week.
Fill in the blank method. My strongest points are dialogue and dynamics. If I forced myself to do internal things and description and sensory details down to the last detail on the first draft, nothing would ever get done. I give myself leeway and write the dialogue and dynamics and add the things I have to later. The more I practice internal aspects and description, the more I just do them, but I don't pressure myself. Pressuring yourself is not the answer.
Start in the middle. Starting is hard; many writers start in the wrong place, especially on their book. Some people do have a better sense of where a story should start than others, but some people have a better idea of what a strong finish is than others. Maybe your strength is the finish line. It's OK to write the last half of the book first and then add the first half. The first few chapters are almost always the chapters that are rewritten the most; that's why they tend to be the strongest and tightest.

WIP Wednesday
Thank you so much @z-lagorio for the tag :D I'm still half-busy renovating stuffs at my new place (although this past week I've been mostly just enjoying the results of the work I put in so far xD but gaming corner is up next and I hope I can share some wips of that :3)
ANYWHO
I have been able to continue with my post-sun-ending fic a bit these last few days, I hope I can share the final version of Chapter 11 soon!
Here's a little teaser from Kerry's pov:
He arrived in front of the MSM recording studio in Charter Hill much faster than anticipated… so much so that his impromptu plan to get Lee to talk was still somewhat fuzzy around the edges. He was in the mood to storm in, guns blazing, but there was no guarantee Lee was even there. Maybe he should’ve checked that before coming here. Kerry cursed between his teeth, slightly clammy hands gripping the steering wheel tightly as he parked straight across from the building’s main entrance. Reluctantly he decided to simply call his manager, something he usually never did. It rang a handful of times, longer than he would’ve expected. “Kerry?” asked the shaky voice on the other end of the line in disbelief. “Certainly not Lizzy Wizzy,” Kerry replied deadpan, “Where are ya?” His heart was beating in his throat. “I’m at the studio! I’ve been waiting to hear from you, been worried that –…” “I’m outside the front door,” Kerry interrupted him, “Come down, let’s talk.” He tried not to let his nerves show, and he was thankful for his AudioVox evening out the slight tremor in his words. “Uh… why don’t you come upstairs to my office?” Lee evaded, “Vicki just dropped by with two new demos you can listen to, I think – …” “No,” Kerry said sternly, but he was grasping at straws for a reason as to why they had to meet outside that wouldn’t leave Lee even more suspicious. “Bring the demos with ya, we’ll listen to ‘em on the road,” was the best thing he could bullshit this quickly, “Been too stagnant lately, gotta move around a bit, get the creative juices flowing.” Empty phrases he’d flung around a million times before, but they usually worked with types like Lee. “Oh… okay?” Lee said, then there was silence for a couple of seconds, “Okay, I’ll be right there but… I need to be back at the studio at the latest in an hour, got an important appointment.” Kerry didn’t reply and simply hung up. No promises.
Lee appeared at the building’s main entrance around ten endless minutes later. Kerry’s right leg bounced in a shaky rhythm, the gun in his jacket’s pocket, heavy as a brick, bruising his thigh. Lee jogged across the street, black and blue designer coat fluttering around him. He tried to put on a smile when he approached the passenger side of the car, but it was slanted and forced. Kerry opened the door for him. “Get in,” he ordered, demanded almost, and Lee slightly flinched, fumbling in his pockets and pulling out a handful of shard cases. “Got everything with me, I thought maybe we could start with the song demos? But just in case I also brought the interview questions I mentioned, and some other things you can decide on for the upcoming promo events.” “Wow, great. Now get in,” Kerry repeated himself with zero enthusiasm and finally Lee slipped into the seat. The same seat V had fucked Kerry in so gloriously yesterday… and now Lee desecrated the space with his presence. Kerry closed the door again and sped off before Lee could say another word, headed towards the highway that would lead them out of the city.
(Things happened and are about to happen 👀 been really excited for this chapter but even more so the stuff it will lead to!)
I'm tagging everyone who has something they're working on to share - this is your call to do it and tag me :D Also tagging @pinkyjulien, @chevvy-yates, @humberg, @imaginarycyberpunk2023, @swearingcactus @civilization-illstayrighthere @peaches-n-screem cause I'd love to see/read what you're working on (if you work on anything you wanna share, without pressure ofc!), be it art, writing, vp, mods, anything! :D

astro observations about my own placements
Tumblr media
in true Leo Moon behavior, here are random observations i've made about myself that i think line up with some of own chart placements really well :)
Pisces Mercury:
i literally do not have my own laugh. i will always unintentionally mimic whoever is laughing around me and when i’m alone it’s the weirdest shit ever like i swear it’s not even a laugh
i know a lot of people need subtitles but i. need. subtitles. it’s like i can hear words but they sound like another language, i can’t understand anything. it happens a looott in real life too. don’t even get me started if someone has an accent. if i ever become rich i will invent contact lenses with subtitles.
Gemini Jupiter 2H:
i loooove to shit talk lmao. in mean girls when cady is like “it just comes out like word vomit” that’s literally me. i’d like to think i’m more of a listener than a talker but that’s not really any better.
i really don't want this to come across weird or bragging but i naturally have a lot of luck when it comes to money. i haven't been employed in over six months and somehow always find more money somewhere. i just got a job and i'm not out of training yet so i'm pretty much at $0 until i get my first check in a few weeks, and somehow this morning i found $200 to last me until then. Jupiter really has my back a lot lmao
1H Eros:
i’ve noticed people are way more likely to compliment or pay attention to my body than my face. i have curves and big tits/a big ass and this is always what people comment on. i love my body, but it’s hard to get used to almost always being “sexy” instead of “pretty” or “beautiful”
11H Aquarius:
i do naturally have a lot of friends with aquarius placements but i can’t stand them at the same time? i’ve cut off two friends with prominent aqua in their chart. very much a love/hate relationship.
9H Chiron conjunct 8H Mars:
i would really love to teach my own astrology/witchy class. my overall dream is to own a little cosmic cafe with an occult store/apothecary.
Taurus Dionysus:
i indulge in food really bad. i can never never resist food, i have zero self control. if i want to eat a certain way, i have to make sure my kitchen has absolutely zero temptations.
Sagittarius Mars:
soooo so so many ideas i never go through with. i will write a detailed note over my course of action and desired results and everything, and then it will sit in my phone indefinitely.
5H Moon:
i’m very much the cliché creative type. i love to write/songwrite, paint, sing, dance, arts and crafts, literally anything that’s creative. it’s like my own version of meditating.
9H Sagittarius:
traveling and living in a foreign country is my dreeeam, nothing sounds more magical to me. i’m currently saving up to do so.
Gemini Pan:
i love love love to talk to trees, plants, and water. i hike a lot and love to say hi to everything i see and talk to nature like she’s my best friend :’)

USING CELESTIAL NAVIGATION TO LOCATE THE KINGDOM OF HYRULE
PART TWO: The Part With Actual Celestial Navigation In It
*part one is here*
oh yeah, quick heads-up that I’m a LinkedUniverse fan, so I do make a casual reference or two to the comic and characters, but this analysis is about—and solely based on evidence present in—the games themselves. so, general LoZ fans who have no knowledge of or interest in LinkedUniverse whatsoever, this analysis is for you, too! go wild, friends!
Okay, SO! In part one, we came to one conclusion: Hyrule does in fact, slide around gratuitously between games. This is good! Because that lines up exquisitely with my celestial results. Ah jeez, now I have to figure out how to explain what I even did to get these results. Here goes!
Section Three: Explaining How, Mechanically, This Is All Going To Work
Let’s break it down into only the essential basics, the stuff I did in like the first half of the semester (this checks out, because the second half involved using the moon, stars, and planets, the motions of which are… interpreted creatively in the 3D Zeldas released thus far). Basically, it’s time to talk about the noon reduction.
(You can just skip to section four if you want the answers, but I have an excuse to ramble about my hyperfixation and I will take that, thank you very much.)
*long inhale* okay so if you drew a line from any celestial body to the center of the Earth, that line would pass through some point on the Earth’s surface. If you were to stand on that point, your object of choice would be directly over your head. The spot in which you’re standing is called the object’s geographic position. We only care about the latitude of this position (or how far north or south it is from the equator), also known as the object’s declination. On the equinoxes, the sun’s declination is zero—at noon, it passes overhead on the equator. If you were in the northern hemisphere, you could see the sun by looking in the southern sky. If you were in the southern hemisphere, you could see the sun by looking in the northern sky. Does this make sense? If it doesn’t, shout at me in the notes and I’ll draw diagrams. But yeah, this is important: If you’re north of the equator and the sun’s over the equator, you have to look south to see the sun. This is why, if you’re in the northern hemisphere, the northern sides of buildings never see sun—the sun’s always in your southern sky.
On the solstice in June (the summer solstice for all you northern-hemisphere-dwellers), the sun’s declination is 23.5°N. It’s because of the Earth’s tilt, whatever, don’t worry about it. If you’re at 23.5°N (also known as the Tropic of Cancer), the sun is directly over your head at noon, now. Equator-dwellers (and everyone else south of the tropic) have to look to their north to see the sun, everyone north of the tropic has to look south to see it. You’ll notice that when the sun is in the northern hemisphere, it makes it nice and toasty and that thing we call summer. The southern hemisphere is, at that moment, missing their sun rather fiercely and would like to not be so cold anymore. On the December solstice, (winter solstice for the northern hemisphere), the sun’s at a declination of 23.5°S, ditching the north, baking the south, equator-dwellers have to look south to see it, Tropic of Capricorn dwellers can see it directly overhead at noon, etc. etc.
So, as you’ll notice if you’re one of those clever observant types, the height of the sun at Local Apparent Noon (LAN) varies by your latitude and by the declination of the sun. What’s LAN? Great question. Basically, thanks to time zones and the sun’s inability to hold itself to a decent schedule, it doesn’t always hit its peak for the day at 12:00pm by your watch. LAN is what we call whatever time it is when the sun does hit its peak for the day. But we don’t care about times right now, just the sun’s altitude at LAN.
That’s another thing—altitude. Everything in celestial navigation is measured as an angle (even distances; ever wonder why latitude and longitude come in degrees?) which makes doing math and measurements really freaking convenient. Because of this, the height of the sun above the horizon, or its altitude, is measured as an angle: 0° means it’s on the horizon, 90° means its directly overhead, and 45° means its halfway between the two.
So, the sun’s declination varies over the course of the year between the range of 23.5°N and 23.5°S. If you know where in the world the sun is overhead (that’s declination) and you know how far the sun is from being over your head (that’s altitude), you can figure out how far you are from that place where the sun is overhead (that’s gonna give you your latitude). Clever, right? Don’t worry if you’re not retaining any of this—this is tumblr, not a textbook. I just think it’s neat.
So, if you’re following my train of logic (quite a feat, as I’m notoriously convoluted), this all means that if you know how high the sun is in the sky in a Zelda game, you can figure out at what latitude the game takes place! Kind of. We also need to know the time of year, which will tell us what the sun’s declination is. If the sun in a given game passes directly overhead at noon, we could fall anywhere in that 47° band between the tropics, depending on the time of year.
There are two problems here: firstly, how do we measure the altitude of the sun—Zelda items are very cool but none of them are sextants (sextants are basically just really fancy protractors for measuring angles in the sky) and secondly, how do we account for the fact that we don’t know what the declination of the sun is?
The first solution is honestly rather simple. We use shadows. Sun hits Link, sun hits ground, line from Link’s shadow’s head to Link’s head points to sun. You’ll see plenty of these diagrams later, so I won’t bother explaining all of it here.
The second solution is more finicky, took me weeks to figure out, and I’m still not entirely sure how it works, but I brute-forced it with my Nautical Almanac, Excel, and several hours of tedious number-wrangling. Because, while 3D Zelda games understandably make no attempt to accurately model the movement of the moon and stars (and don’t even include planets), the sun gives us another clue.
I don’t know how many people know this, but “the sun rises in the east and sets in the west” is actually an approximation. Contrary to what the 3D Zeldas would have you believe, the sun does not, in fact, rise at 090°T (directly due east) and set at 270°T (directly due west) every single day of the year. It varies, sometimes rising north of east, sometimes rising south of east. There’s an equation that takes your latitude and the declination of the sun and calculates how far away from east and west your sunrise and sunset are, but that’s not actually useful here, because, as I alluded to previously, Zelda games don’t account for this. Fortunately, there’s another clue! I wonder if any of you are mentally shouting it at me right now. Spoiler alert: It’s the length of day and night! Is day longer than night? The sun’s closer to you (northern declination, which means northern hemisphere summer). Is night longer than day? The sun’s farther away from you (southern declination, which means northern hemisphere winter).
The really really nice thing about using the sun’s altitude at LAN and the length of the day and night is that between the two of them, we have almost all the information we need to get a solid fix on when and where these games take place. And the second nice thing about this is that, unlike the sun always rising and setting exactly due east and west, the sun’s noon height and day length vary appreciably and reasonably between games! …mostly.
To compile all this nonsense into something practical, here’s the plan: we crack open a 3D Zelda game, wait for the sun to rise and then we start a timer. See if the sun, after rising in the east, scoots to the north or the south or heads straight overhead. Now we know what hemisphere we’re in (give or take). Wait until LAN (the sun is always either directly due north or due south during LAN, because it rises in the east and sets in the west and it’s all symmetric and stuff) and then we snap a picture of our boy and his shadow. Wait until sunset and then lap the timer. Spend the night cycle screaming over how screwed up the moon and constellations are, then bop the timer once the sun rises. Now we know how long the day/night cycle is and what fraction of that day is spent in the sunlight. We do math to figure out how many hours long the day and night would be if the day/night cycle were actually 24 hours long. Then we grab that picture we snapped at LAN, literally just measure the angle with a digital protractor because trying to take the distances and do trig is way too much work and honestly probably less accurate, and then BAM, we’ve got everything we need to massively narrow down our game to a specific latitude and one of two possible dates. I say two possible dates because the sun hits a given declination twice a year—once between the equinox and the solstice, and then again when it doubles back to head to the next equinox. If that doesn’t make sense, think about the fact that the day before the solstice and the day after the solstice are both the same length. Cool? Cool.
Alright, let’s see what happens when we actually try this!
Part Four: Finally Getting to the Gosh Darn Freaking Point of All This
Sorry Leg, Four, and Rulie, but your games aren’t going to be very helpful here cuz we get to see neither the sky nor any pronounced shadows cast by stuff in the sky, so you’re off the hook.
Of the remaining Zelda games, Termina doesn’t actually take place in this dimension, but hey, maybe it’s somewhere neat! We might as well.
Okay, so we’ve got six canon 3D Zeldas. (Yeah, sorry both Hyrule Warriors’s (even though one of you is apparently canon), I couldn’t be bothered to actually boot you up and start measuring angles—doing these ones was enough work already and you don’t even have day/night cycles).
Of the six Zeldas I am using, all of them have day/night cycles except for one, Skyward Sword. As much as I’d like to slap it on the pole and say the entire game takes place near the solstice, celestial nights do in fact demonstrably exist, they’re just not looped into the gameplay, so we’ll have to figure something out.
Of the five remaining Zelda games, two of them feature in-universe clocks—which isn’t actually all that useful anyway, since longitude is way more arbitrary than latitude and I don’t know where Hyrule keeps its prime meridian—and those are Breath of the Wild and Majora’s Mask. The final three Zeldas—Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, and Twilight Princess—have day/night cycles that just loop evenly along time spent in the overworld, which is handy.
Okay, so let’s do this!
Ocarina of Time: Our day lasts 2 minutes and 40 seconds and our night lasts 1 minute and 20 seconds. The full day/night cycle takes 4 minutes. 2 minutes and 40 seconds is actually exactly two-thirds of 4 minutes, so we can just apply that to 24 hours and BAM, we get a 16-hour day and 8-hour night. Those of you living in Canada, Northern Europe, and Patagonia are familiar with this phenomenon. And, when Link is both a child and when he’s an adult, the sun’s altitude at LAN is 70°.
Tumblr media
Now let’s plug these two data points into the chart I bruteforced! Isn’t she pretty? I love her
Tumblr media
Okay, so it’s kind of just outside the range of what’s possible—for a day that long to happen, you have to be pretty far from the equator. But, when you get that close to a pole, the sun doesn’t get all too high in the sky. We can give Nintendo a few degrees of wiggle room, though, and put Ocarina of Time on the summer solstice (June 21st) at 47°N. Wow! And those seven years he’s asleep for are exactly seven years because it’s still the solstice when he wakes up. 47°N is, for context, about the latitude of Seattle (Washington, USA), Munich (Germany), and Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia).
This is the most straightforward of all the Zelda games we’re going to cover. Majora’s Mask is exciting because Termina is a hellhole so we’ll skip to…
Wind Waker: Day: 5.5 minutes. Night: 4.5 minutes. Full cycle: 10 minutes. If 10 minutes became 24 hours, 5.5 minutes would become 13 hours and 12 minutes! The sun at LAN gets up to 54°
Tumblr media
Now let’s plug that bad boy in—I’ll just use the version of the chart with all the games already on it to save space (sorry for the spoilers, I know you must be heartbroken).
Tumblr media
So, that puts Wind Waker at a comfy 44°N in either early April or September. Wondering where those dates came from? Every little dot on this chart is a data point, and every one of those is from the 21st of a month, either March (the spring equinox), April, May, or June (the summer solstice (in the northern hemisphere)). Then you can just interpolate between them. So if Wind Waker lands between my solstice dot and the one next to it, it’s near the solstice, but on the summery side, so very early September or early-mid April. No Zelda games have nights longer than days, but if that were the case, you’d just read the X-axis’ “Length of Day” as length of night and the points to the far right would represent the winter solstice instead of the summer one. Don’t worry if this doesn’t make sense to you—this barely makes sense to me and I’m the one who made it.
But now we’ve gotten ourselves in a little pickle—is it April or September? You could use whatever in-game clues you’d like to try and figure this out, or research the prevailing winds and ideal sailing seasons at the relevant latitude, but I’ll be going off of celestial cues to the best of my ability, so here goes!
April. It’s April. Wind’s birthday is probably like April 9th or something and I like that a lot. Fits his vibes. How did I figure this? Well, let’s start by taking a look at the night sky:
Tumblr media
Yeah, okay, it’s fricked. I’m not gonna get into into why the moon is so bad in every Zelda game, but this article does a good job of explaining it. All the nonsense that happens in there applies to Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, too—Ocarina of Time doesn’t have any moon phases, which is probably a good thing. Skyward Sword has its own issues and you don’t need me to tell you that the moon in Majora’s Mask is a problem.
Orion, however, offers us a clue. This little lad pops up in Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, and for some reason, Majora’s Mask. I couldn’t find him in Ocarina of Time’s sky, but I think I found Cassiopeia and the Summer Triangle. It’s not like any of this matters that much, cuz the stars are fricked in all the games and positioned in direct contradiction to the sun and also each other, but if we have two dates and we’re just trying to pick between them, we might as well give Orion his time in the spotlight.
Again, I’m not sure how many people know this, but the stars move over the course of a year and over the course of a night. They move a lot every night (about sixteen degrees an hour—just a little faster than the sun), and, since they’re speedy little fellas, they get just a little further along their path every night. This means—and I’m really sorry to all the fanfic authors who use this as a plot device in their fics—that you can’t just look up and know where and when you are. If you know when you are (exactly, like in time to the minute), you can guesstimate the where, and vice versa. My final project for this class was actually trying to see if I could figure out both when I knew neither, and the answer is yes, but it takes a lot of work and finagling and also you need to know what year it is and have a lot of celestial information about that year in particular. If any of you suddenly have a hankering for a fic in which the LinkedUniverse boys freak out over being celestially disoriented from both the time and location changes, stay tuned ;)
Okay, so my point is that if the stars are just up there, frozen in the sky, like they are in all the 3D Zeldas, it gets tricky to figure out what time of year it is. I mean, we could just… assume these are their midnight positions? Spoiler: it doesn’t actually matter because the stars are all fricked to heck anyway. We just need one little pointer to try and figure out which of the two possible dates we ended up with.
Slight tangent, but of all the constellations, why do they insist on putting Orion of all people in all their games. He’s a winter constellation! All the Zelda games take place in or near summer! I mean, yes, he’s a summer constellation for the southern hemisphere, but most games don’t take place down there! Does Nintendo have some sort of personal beef with Altair, Vega, and Deneb that I don’t know about? Are they a joke to you??
*cough* Anyway. Orion in Wind Waker is visible in the southwestern sky. Were it September, Orion would rise pretty late in the night, coming up in the east, and he’d scoot his way through the southern sky, but just after he crosses the meridian (due south) and is about to head into the southwestern sky, the sun rises and we can’t see him anymore. That’s no good! How about April? Well, yeah actually! The sun sets, and, blinking into view on the meridian is Orion, scooting through the southwestern sky before eventually setting at about midnight. So, Wind Waker probably takes place in early April at a latitude of 44°N!
But Squido! I hear you shouting, doesn’t the game take time for Wind to beat? And isn’t Hyrule big enough to span multiple lines of latitude? You were just talking about how big it was in part one of this post series! You can’t seriously be suggesting that the entire game takes place on a single day at a single latitude! And to that I say, you are, indeed, correct. This measurement can’t possibly apply to all of Wind Waker, just as my previous assessment can’t possibly apply to all of Ocarina of Time.
My solution? Hand-wave it. Seriously, Nintendo is not programming a fully accurate year-long celestial cycle that tracks the number of in-game days since you started and changes the positions of the stars and everything by your latitude. That would be badass, but hardware limitations are a thing and Nintendo has its priorities (somewhat) straight. We can say my calculation represents the starting point in time because I still like Wind having an early April birthday and this gives him the whole summer to adventure around while the daylight hours are long. We can say the latitude in question is, I dunno, towards the top of the map. There’s palm trees around, so I hesitate to put us any further north than the 44°N I calculated. That is about the latitude of Toronto (Canada), Milan (Italy), and Sapporo (Japan) after all. Maybe that’s the upper bound of the map. I honestly don’t think it’s that important.
Twilight Princess: We’re old hats at this by now! Day: 8 minutes. Night: also 8 minutes. We’ve got ourselves an equinox—12 hours of each! LAN altitude is 55°, so that puts us at a lovely 35°N in either late March or September.
Tumblr media
Orion is in the southeastern sky so, as I said in the Wind Waker portion, that would make sense in September. So it’s September 21st! It find it fitting that a game about the balance between light and dark takes place at the time of year when light and dark are perfectly balanced. This latitude, for context, is about the same as Charlotte (North Carolina, USA), Albuquerque (New Mexico, USA), Tehran (Iran), and Osaka (Japan). I always knew he was a southern boy.
Breath of the Wild: Yeah, I was going in chronological order by release date, but Skyward Sword doesn’t have a day/night cycle and that complicates things, so I’ll just do Breath of the Wild now while we’re in the groove and—hey, isn’t that spunky! The sun and moon pass through the northern sky, did you ever notice that? That means this game takes place in the southern hemisphere! And not just any ol’ southern hemisphere latitude, it freaking commits. I mean, you ever notice how long those sunrises and sunsets always seem to last? How the game seems to draw out dawn and dusk as much as possible to minimize how much time you spend trying to find your way around in the dark? Well, that’s because Breath of the Wild has a seventeen hour day! How exciting! The sun rises at 0400 (4am) and sets at 2100 (9pm). Its LAN altitude is a groovy little 43°, leaving us at a latitude of 63°S in early either February or November (this is the southern hemisphere, so these are summery months now).
Tumblr media
(oh yeah, my Switch is modded so I can play as Zelda instead of Link—it’s called Zelda’s Ballad and it’s pretty sick. My awesome little sister set it up for me :3)
And wow, if 63°S isn’t an exciting latitude. That’s level with *checks notes* Ross Island, Antarctica!! Wait, what? Yeah, Breath of the Wild takes place in Antarctica, apparently. I wonder if the Sheikah tech holding the moon in place is also responsible for the climate control.
But yeah, I looked real hard, and found something that I thought might be Orion, but I’m honestly not convinced. If it were him, he’d be in the western sky, which would check out for February but not November. The trees in Akkala have red leaves, which could mean fall (which, in the south, would make it February), but then again, I hesitate to take ecological cues from trees that are apparently growing in Antarctica. A spring month fits with the themes of the game—rebirth, life rising from desolation—and that would mean November. I dunno, this one’s up to the Zelda Lore Afficionados.
Majora’s Mask: Yeah, you know it’s all going to hjeck when I put Skyward Sword off because the alternate dimension in which the moon is crashing into the planet and you’re forced into a time loop is easier to do celestial navigation to than Skyward Sword is. Here’s the scoop:
Sun rises and sets at 0600 and 1800 (6 am and pm) so that’s another 12 hour day. But the sun is really overhead-y. Like, 80° overhead. That puts us in the tropics, so there’s actually a few latitudes and dates we could be at. We could be at 10°N on the equinoxes—in late March or September—or we could on the equator, 0°N, in mid April or August. This is pure conjecture, but I feel like the equator is oddly fitting for this game. A liminal space between hemispheres, where the normal rules don’t always apply…
Tumblr media
But, when I was looking for other clues, I found something very fun. Okay, so you know how I said the sky is fricked, right?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like, okay, we have some familiar friends, but you can see that they’re all screwy. The angle between the Big Dipper’s pointer stars towards Polaris and Orion are an acute angle in Majora’s Mask and an obtuse angle in real life. And why are they so close to each other?! It’s just… so weird. But anyway, here’s where it gets funky. The sun passed to our south at LAN, so we know we have to be north of it, though just barely. We’re either on the equator or north of it but then… Orion is to our north. Orion is directly over the celestial equator, which means he’s like the sun on the equinox—if you have to look north to see him, you’re in the southern hemisphere. So we must be in the southern hemisphere, even though I just said we were in either in the northern hemisphere or on the equator. As if that wasn’t bad enough, if you look at the Big Dipper’s orientation, the pointer stars that point towards Polaris are pointing over our head! Even if the star I circled isn’t actually Polaris, the real Polaris would have to be somewhere around there. Which means, since Polaris is the pole star and the whole point of it is that it’s directly over the north pole, to have Polaris directly over our head means we’re on the north pole. We are in the southern hemisphere and on the equator and on the North Pole. No wonder the moon got sick of us and wanted us gone.
Speaking of the Big Dipper and Polaris real quick, Wind Waker actually has a refreshingly accurate depiction of them. The Big Dipper is angled a little funny for this time of year, but eh, it all works out. You can see that the direction that the pointer stars are indicating that Polaris is in is actually to the north! That’s pretty neat! Polaris is also at about the right height, give or take, that it should be for the latitude we calculated. So hooray for Wind Waker!
Tumblr media
Skyward Sword: So. Uh. This went downhill very quickly. I was like “hey, maybe the sun is just frozen in its LAN position cuz it doesn’t move, right?” WRONG. If it were LAN, the sun would be directly due north or due south. But NOPE, it’s to the southeast. That means its still morning. At least, when we’re in Skyloft. When we go to Faron, the sun’s due west. Eldin? Southwest! Lanayru? North of west. But wait, you may be thinking, this is handy! We get a few snapshots over the course of a day, and we can put them together to get a feel for what a day looks like here, right? WRONG!
I tried that. You know what I got?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THAT’S NOT HOW THE SUN WORKS!!!! That looks nothing like either a sine wave or a parabola. But I was like, you know what, maybe it’s okay, maybe my puny mortal mind cannot comprehend this. Let’s let Excel work its magic and give me a parabola.
Tumblr media
Okay, that’s not too terrible, we’ve got an LAN height of like 55°, which is workable. Hey, now that I think about it, what if we extended this parabola to find out where the altitude is zero! We’d basically get the compass directions in which the sun rises and sets, and I mentioned earlier that I can use that to calculate latitude and declination! So let’s just extend this little parabola here…
Tumblr media
nOPE! Here, let me try to explain why this is so bad. You could make a chart where you graphed the sun’s altitude on the Y-axis and the sun’s azimuth, or the compass direction you’d have to face to stare straight at it, on the X-axis. You’d have a graph that intersects the X-axis twice, once at near 090°T and another at somewhere around 270°T. When it gets to the meridian, or 180°T, that’s where your peak, or LAN, would be. This graph does not do that. The sun is modestly in the sky to your north. The sun climbs, passing to your east, and then to your south. It hits its peak just after passing the meridian (that’s not how the sun works?? That’s not how any of this works?!??) and then begins to fall a little as it slopes to the west. It passes west, though, scooting through the northwestern sky before passing north again and continuing to circle towards the east, gradually making its way down to the horizon just before completing its second full rotation around the entire sky.
I joked briefly before about Skyward Sword being at the north pole in the summer so the sun never sets, but that actually seems to be the case?? At latitudes like that in the summer months, the sun can do a lap or two around the sky before touching the horizon. This wouldn’t be a huge problem, if for the fact that you can sleep until nightfall. Which could mean Link passes out for anywhere from a full day to a number of months. Does daytime come back around again? We’ve returned to another one of these strange infinite days, which means that Link has slept for approximately ONE ENTIRE YEAR. I know everyone calls him a sleepyhead, but that’s a bit much, don’t you think?
Furthering my hypothesis that Skyward Sword takes place uncomfortably close to the North Pole, there’s Polaris! Nice and high in the sky, so we must be close to the place where it is overhead—the North Pole. BUT WAIT! What direction is Polaris in? It couldn’t possibly be to the north, could it? No, the north star? In the north?? No, Skyward Sword got it right when it put Polaris IN the SOUTHEAST?!!??!!
Orion is just vibing up there at if we’re comfortably close to the equator, but no, that can’t be the case.
Tumblr media
ALSO! I’ve been ignoring the moons cuz they’re all wonky, but THE MOON IN SKYWARD SWORD IS DIRECTLY DUE NORTH!
WE ARE NEAR THE NORTH POLE AND THE MOON IS TO OUR NORTH. For those of you unaware, the moon tends to stick to the same path as the sun, just that what the sun does in a year, the moon does in a month. The sun is never, ever, ever overhead at the North Pole, SO NEITHER SHOULD THE MOON BE!
The only possible explanation?
SKYWARD SWORD TAKES PLACE IN TERMINA.
You ever notice just how big the moon is in Skyward Sword? Yeah. Yeah, me too.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
To summarize: Ocarina of Time: 47°N, Summer Solstice (June 21st) Wind Waker: 44°N, early April Twilight Princess: 35°N, late September Breath of the Wild: 63°S, November or February Majora’s Mask: 0°N (maybe), mid April or August Skyward Sword: Who Freaking Knows

I'm going to try to word this correctly, because I'd like your take and I don't want my point to be misconstrued. The tldr is: I'm kinda bummed 1989 TV is such a commercial success. Here's the long of it. 1989 was my favorite album for a long long time and I was of course, excited to check out the vault. But I feel like these numbers are based on hype, not on product. Which is... fine, commercially speaking. Go girl, make those dollars. But... the result is a receipe. What perfomed the best for a long time is a record that was heavily branded by a stunt with a boy(band). What has now performed the best was a re record dropped in the middle of a tour that was completely overshadowed by the boybranding again. I feel like the rush was a mix of weird Haylor gossip thirst, football dude easter egg hunt, return of girlsquad branding... I admit, it stings that 1989 TV didn't even get a promo interview, a music video, or anything. (No, but we didn't forget the merch drops, tho!!) And it makes me sad, because... folklore, man. That had ZERO hype. Bam. There. And we ate that shit up. We loved THE MUSIC. I want the wild ride to be the music. And 2023 feels like Taylor has fully retreated inside the Taylor Swift TM persona and we're buying the TS Brand, not Taylor's music. What I was hoping for was: more 1989 vibes on vault songs, more "directed by Taylor Swift" creative expressions. What I got was: Ken and Barbie on tour. I'm sorry this is kinda rambly. I know anon asks don't take into account line breaks so this will be even more confusing. But. Yeah. I'm just a bit bummed out and I was wondering if anyone else was a bit disapointed, too? I mean. I genuinely don't know. Do people enjoy the soap opera and I'm the only one who's only turning up to check out the shoes Taylor wore in candids and for her artistic expression? Maybe I'm the weirdo. The market certainly seems to say I'm not in the majority.
Hi Anon 💕
I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way, and I can absolutely relate! It can be really difficult to separate the stunts from the music on a mental and emotional level. It’s something I still struggle with occasionally, and when the music is something so personal to you, of course you can feel protective or even disappointed when the PR goes off the rails. That is completely valid!
It saddens me that any fan would feel the shine of Taylor’s actual work has been dulled by the PR schemes.
I, too, am surprised that we haven’t seen any music video for 1989 TV yet, but I’m also not completely convinced that the book has been closed on that front. Let’s wait together in hopeful anticipation 🤞
I don’t blame you at all for how you are feeling, but I think in times like these, the most helpful thing for me is to draw that mental boundary—whether it’s a boundary between the music and the PR, or myself and the PR. Sometimes, I just don’t check the news, or I scroll away quickly if I happen to see something. These stunts are a lot, so when I feel myself becoming overwhelmed, I really try to shut down my mournful thoughts with a “NOPE! That’s not good for me right now” and then scroll away, or shut my phone off, or turn on Taylor’s actual music instead.
I am in love with 1989 TV. I’ve had it on repeat since it dropped, and hearing the vault tracks especially makes me so happy. I feel like there’s a real story there—things we didn’t get to see when the album originally came out. I have to imagine that even now, there’s so much happening behind the scenes that we can’t know. I’m just grateful for the chance to peek a little farther behind the curtain for a period of time that was very special for the T Swift community.
Lastly, regardless of the PR stunts, this drop has been huge for Taylor. Perhaps we’ll never know for sure whether that’s because people have come flocking for her music itself or they’ve grown curious due to the over the top PR, but I have a feeling that Taylor doesn’t care much either way. I think she’s at peace with the way she gets her attention, because at the end of the day, people ARE listening to her music. If they saw her at a football game cheering on some meathead and got curious enough to check out 1989 TV, what they will discover is a woman with great intelligence, a depth of emotion, and an insane amount of talent. That is just to say, it will always be her music and talent that shines in the end.
I’m reminded of YOYOK, where Taylor sings I looked around in a blood-soaked gown and I saw something they can’t take away.
No amount of stunts or bad PR (or good PR!) will change her undeniable talent. Even better that 1989 is truly Taylor’s now. I just find it comforting that regardless of how people find Taylor or why they first buy her music, they will get to enjoy it for the beautiful work of art that it always is.
Sending love, anon! You are not alone in your feelings, I promise 💚💛💜❤️🩵🖤🩷🩶🤎💙

Tokyo Calling by ATARASHII GAKKO! it's just FUN
Enneagram type four.
YES. and my fave is the ABO copyright saga, but I enjoy having these on in the background while I do other things, and I use them to learn about online drama mostly hehehe
To fall asleep, either thinking through scenarios or audiobooks. if the brain won't shut up, then audiobooks!!
I wouldn't change my name, but I'm also not super duper attached to it haha
Favourite redacted audio!! Davey proposal, or the one where angel steals david's hoodie. there are a lot of call backs in both of these, and my favorite line: 'with you, I'm just- David.'
Zero appeal is Ollie!! I've tried. A few times. but No.

Platonically, besties with Elliott! He'd be a great friend?
Go to ramble is whatever media I've been really into lately. I've gotten really into hockey and PWHL lately, and get me tired, I will ramble to you about it hahaha
Favorite playlist atm is an amalgamation of my daylists, but I'd summarise it as 'bisexual yearning pop'??
Guilty pleasure media is SMUTTY MANGA.
Tumblr media
Ooh, this is a cute one. Like, I think there are parts of you that could work so well with different parts of different redacted bois. Yet, when I look at all you’ve given me as a whole, I like you with Gavin most.
Type Fours tend to be creative, emotional, and reserved, an introverted sort of person; I think Gavin is uniquely suited to you in that he’s extroverted enough to pull you out of your shell but not so much you two don’t have a grand time by yourselves. Also, “bisexual yearning pop” one hundred percent sounds like Gavin’s vibe, so I think y’all could have a great time sharing playlists.
The main thing I love about y’all is that I think you and Gavin would like a lot of the same things, that he likes all the things you like. Like, can’t you imagine reading a smutty manga and shoving it in Gavin’s face like “babe, you’ll love this one”? Can’t you imagine watching hockey together and Gavin loving the hot people speeding across the ice and checking each other? Can’t you imagine your first Christmas together with him, showing him the Muppets Christmas Carol for the first time?
Song:
Every other boy’s on to the next one/ I hope that you stay, 'cause I think you′re so fun/ Everyone is asking if we're a thing now/ Are we going somewhere?/ Waking up my friends and texting my sister/ I wanna tell the world the things that we whisper/ Everyone is asking if we're a thing now/ Are we going somewhere?
To find a song for y’all, I searched Bisexual Yearning Pop in Spotify, and I quite like the result! This song is really catchy and cute and paints a really fun picture of a flirtationship on the brink of something more and the sweet, fuzzy feelings of having a crush in that situation. This song is new to me, but I’ll be saving it, and I hope you like it too!
Runner-ups:
Guy is a runner-up because I do love the idea of pairing you with an extrovert but not that much of an extrovert, ya know? Lasko is a runner-up because I think he’d love your smutty manga recommendations most of all the boys. You and he and Gavin should have a fun, little naughty book club.
note: thank you so much for waiting; please feel free to send me some manga recs if you’d like to share. I love a good 18+ Josei 💕
Read this post and send me an ask if you’d like a match-up of your own! 💌

Starfield Rant
My ONE big splurge of the year (I allow myself one splurge a year because of all our debt we're trying to pay off)--bought before I got so sick and realized we were going to have to return to the US--and it turns out to be the most poorly-written game I have ever played.
I could have gotten Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption, The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, Persona 5, or a couple or three of those put together for what it cost to pre-order Starfield.
Starfield has so much going for it in so many ways, and I was so excited, because I'd been waiting for YEARS for it to release. And I do enjoy certain aspects of it, but oh, my Sagan the writing is SO BAD! It'll probably be the last Bethesda game I purchase--at least until they get a competent head writer.
Look, I'm pretty generous with hand-waving stuff away, but how do you make a space game without even knowing the difference between a planetary system and a galaxy? How do you write ANYTHING without any attention at all to verisimilitude? How can you not know the difference between a transcript and a recording? How do you write a world with equipment that can do detailed genetic and cellular tissue analysis in seconds, but not have a single biologist figure out that the most ubiquitous in-game pest and the most-feared hostile creature are the same species?
How do you accidentally make a supposedly sympathetic character into a monster who abandons their crew on a hostile world for twenty years (resulting in the deaths of all crash survivors and the orphaning of the daughter of two survivors), when said character knows exactly how to find them--because the character "just can't face their past?" (She indicates she knew there might be survivors, but even if she thought they all died, you always MAKE SURE. The UC Navy is complicit here, as well.)
It goes beyond that, too. Sarah's entire quest is written in a way that makes her seem like a villain. First, if the real issue was "facing her past," all she had to do was tell someone, "Hey, the location of the other shuttle is on the computer in the shuttle I crashed in. Go rescue them or recover their remains." But she didn't tell anyone.
Then also notice that Sona talks about how excited she was to leave with the Crimson Fleet pirates and how she cried when they left without her, but goes into a screaming tirade when Sarah offers to take her away, although she is adamant--but not convincing--when she goes out of her way to declare her parents' admiration for Sarah and how Sarah did nothing wrong.
Conclusion: Sarah did something awful, was willing to sacrifice her crew to keep anyone from finding out, and was only willing to be pushed into checking on them twenty years later because she assumed they'd all be dead by then. This entire quest is written exactly the way I'd write it if I wanted to make clear (without directly stating it), that Sarah was an evil person who was, perhaps not willing to kill to keep her secret, but was perfectly willing to ALLOW multiple people she could have saved by speaking a single sentence to die rather than have that secret revealed.
And all you'd have to do to fix it is make it so Sarah was found AWAY from her campsite, and her own shuttle wasn't found until just now, and she was offered a chance to be the one to check on it. Or make it so the data isn't on her computer, but somehow now, after twenty years, Sona accidentally tripped and emergency beacon that her parents never activated because they didn't know the war was over. There are other solutions; I'm just saying it would be easy for any halfway competent writer to not fuck this up.
There's other stuff just in that one quest that is way off, and outside of that quest, I could easily give a hundred or more other examples off the top of my head of just lazy, objectively bad writing that any creative writing teacher (or any competent editor) would circle in red with some polite variation of, "WTF?" The ONLY good thing about the writing is the punched-up dialogue. That's it.
I mean, Skyrim has a lot of basic mistakes, too (like not knowing the difference between seep and steep), but with Starfield, it appears that Bethesda has just completely given up on any semblance of decent writing. I'd put the writing on the level of, say, the old Power Rangers shows, except that would be an insult to those who wrote for those shows.
Then again, Emil Pagliorulo (Bethesda's "writing director") has zero qualifications as a writer. I personally know at least a dozen authors (some critically-acclaimed, award-winning, and best-selling) who could do a better job, but who have to keep non-writing day jobs to make ends meet while this jackass gets paid for a job he's nowhere remotely qualified for. Hell, Pagliorulo has publicly declared his disdain for the very idea of trying to write well, saying that if you give the players a book, they will just "tear out the pages and make paper airplanes."
Like, dude, that just means you need to get some chops and write a better book.

Audio
The art in the thumbnail was made by Slavyan. Be sure to check out the full art piece on their Twitter!
Been a while since I've done a straight cover of a track from Hat In Time, huh? And of course, in a Classic MysteryMan Move™, I chose a track that absolutely no one's covered before! XD Wound up having to take a few creative liberties here; some were by choice, and others were forced by the fade-out at the end of the original track's one and ONLY loop. This + other B-Side OST exclusives having that done to them like that is easily the thing that grinds my gears most (as much as I still think you should support the official AHIT album releases all the same,) seeing as there's zero official way to get the full unfaded version. ...So imagine the look on my face when I found this upload -- after I already finalized my cover. Be sure to check out Hat Kid's Diary, would've been a godsend of a ref if I'd found their channel sooner lmao. Getting this description back on the rails tho, I'm rly happy with how this turned out. It may have been troublesome to transcribe and get just right, but it was incredibly satisfying to hear the final result, especially since there were no other resources to go off of for this one. (Decided to just do whatever the hell I wanted with the tinkerbells in the back, figured I wasn't gonna get those accurate anyhow.) Might try to convert this into MIDI, but is defo low-priority for me due to other things, + me just rly NOT wanting to deal with making the tinkerbell line MIDI-compatible rn lmao. Not much else to say, so I hope you guys enjoy! :) Also I used Hat Adult art for the thumbnail cause that scene's where this track was used in the beta build, so uhhh ye lol.
You can also listen to this track in high quality on my SoundCloud here!

HOW TO EARN MONEY BY UPLOADING PICTURES
Wait! For simple comprehension and access, it is advised that you view this SHORT VIDEO tutorial before continuing.
Regarding image licensing, you may use the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license to distribute your photographs on Pixabay and Pexels. Nobody is permitted to claim ownership of your photographs or use them to promote their products, but everyone is free to use them anyway they like. You may still earn money, however, if you contribute or make your photos available for license outside of these channels.
Pixabay and Pexels have arrangements with online stock photo markets like Adobe Stock. You may sign up for these programs and start earning royalties if your photographs are utilized provided your images are licensed via their partner networks.
Original content production: Some photographers choose to charge for their premium or unique content. This might be enhanced versions of their photos, creative creations, or insightful subject matter. The only people who are eligible for these special discounts are those who are willing to pay for premium material.
Building a lucrative Portfolio: You need to develop a lucrative portfolio if you want to increase your chances of making money on Pixabay and Pexels. Upload images with excellent technical quality, alluring appearances, and a range of subjects and themes. More people are lured in, increasing the likelihood that they will download your photographs.
To accurately describe your photos, use the right words and phrases. As a result, it will be simpler for users to locate your photographs while doing theme-related research.
Regular uploads: Keep posting new photos to your portfolio to keep it fresh and colorful. As a result, you use the platforms more often and actively.
promote Your Work: In order to increase awareness of your work and attract potential clients, you must market it.
Post details about your images on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Use relevant hashtags, engage with your fans, and direct them to your Pixabay or Pexels profile to enhance exposure.
Take part in discussions, provide criticism of other photographers' work, and leave comments about it. Creating connections in your community could boost your profile and bring in new clients.
Planning theme collections or collaborative photography projects while working with other photographers. As a consequence, a larger audience will be exposed to your work, and chances for cross-promotion may present themselves.
Monitoring and Analyzing Performance: By keeping an eye on your performance, you may figure out which strategies are working best for you and make the required adjustments.
Monitoring views and downloads: Check the information provided by Pixabay and Pexels to learn which of your photos are doing well and getting more downloads. You could spot repeating trends and increase the engagement of your subsequent postings if you do this.
Finding out about fads: Keep an eye out for the photo categories that are most sought-after and schedule your next uploads to coincide with those trends. If you do this, users are more inclined to download and pay for your photographs.
To boost your earnings on Pixabay and Pexels, take into account the following strategies. If you provide premium material, experimenting with price may help you discover the ideal balance between attracting customers and increasing earnings.
Increasing your presence on other platforms: Pixabay and Pexels are well-known websites for stock photography, but you may want to check into other ones to reach a larger audience and diversify your income streams.
creating one-of-a-kind, restricted-edition content that is only available through Pexels or Pixabay. This could appeal to those who are actively hunting for unusual things and are willing to pay more for them.
To sum up, photographers may take use of Pixabay and Pexels by using monetization options, building a solid portfolio, effectively promoting their work, and tracking success. Accept and refine these strategies
4 SIMPLE WAYS TO USE PEXELS Pexels is a well-known online source for free pictures and videos. It offers a sizable collection of free movies and images that were created by a team of talented filmmakers and photographers. The website serves as a cluster of resources for bloggers, designers, marketers, and anybody else in need of eye-catching photographs. Users are free to browse and download these images from Pexels without any form of license restrictions or other restrictions.
Pexels provides a vast array of top-notch photographs for both personal and business use, as well as a mechanism for users to make money. In this article, we'll examine a number of strategies you may utilize to profit from the site and make money for yourself.
Tips for Using Pexels A website called Pexels was developed to let professional photographers and videographers share their work and start earning money from it. When you submit the pictures or videos and a user downloads them, you will be paid through PayPal. Each download will bring in $0.25 for you.
How to Use Pexels to Make Money You may monetise your work using Pexels in a number of ways, such as by participating in Pixel challenges. One way to accomplish it is to participate in Pexels' challenges and earn money from them. Pexels often hosts contests where photographers and videographers can display their diverse skills and compete for substantial financial incentives. Therefore, by participating in any of these challenges, you'll get recognition and respect in the photography community in addition to money. You must carry out the following tasks in order to take part in the Pexels challenges:
Look For The Current Challenges: To find out more about the ongoing and current jobs, visit the Pexels website and explore the challenges section. Once you've arrived at the challenge section, navigate the several tasks to choose the one that most closely resembles your style of photography.
Upload your best photos after taking them: Create outstanding images that meet the challenge's current theme and submit them for assessment on the Pexels website. Make sure your photographs follow the guidelines and that the submission complies with the specifications.
Find Support For Your Submission: At this point, you could decide to upload the photos you used for the challenges on a photography forum, a social networking site, etc. to increase their visibility to your audience and earn more fans from the photography community.
Engage in community interaction by talking to other participants and photographers, praising their work, and so on. This is essential since it will let you build effective partnerships and widen opportunities.
Utilize your email address to register for a Pexels account by visiting the website and following the steps. You'll be able to upload pictures and videos to Pexels as a result.
Post Your High-Quality images: After creating your account, upload your most glamorous and best images to the Pexels website. Make sure the photographs completely adhere to the platform's regulations before posting them to avoid penalties.
Enhance the Titles and Descriptions of Your Photographs: After uploading your best photos, the next step is to use relevant keywords and provocative titles to draw in more viewers.
Organize Your photographs: Group your photographs into distinct, relevant groups to make them more visible to visitors.
supply commercial licenses to users: Since the website enables users to download photos and videos without requiring a license, you must supply commercial licenses to users in order to draw in more visitors.
Track Your Pexels Profits: Pexels subscribers have access to a dashboard where they can track the number of downloads, views, and sales they get for their images. With this dashboard, you can keep an eye on all of your Pexels sales. Cooperate with businesses and organizations
Another way to get money on Pexels is to work for different businesses and organizations. Due to your talent as a photographer, you could get the attention of various businesses, which will surely improve your revenue chances. Simply use the following steps to get brands and agencies' attention:
Promote Your Expertise With Your Portfolio: Showcase the best images from your Pexels portfolio, which will include a range of top-notch skills and aesthetics. Businesses and agencies are constantly seeking for skilled photographers to develop visual material, so if you provide them top-notch photographs, they could hire you. This is no longer breaking news.
Create A Professional Portfolio Or Website: You can increase your visibility on the Pexels platform and make it easier for businesses and agencies to discover you by presenting your abilities online via a portfolio or website.
Collaboration With Notable Bloggers And Influencers: Work with well-known bloggers and influencers that need top-notch product photographs. As a result, if you can provide them the best photographs, they could work with you and introduce you to a bigger audience.
Be Open To Requests And Questions: It is usually preferable to respond as quickly as you can to requests and questions from other groups in order to promote closer collaboration.
Sell different prints You could still get money from them if you are a well-known photographer. You might decide to sell many prints of your best pieces. To accomplish it, just carry out the following actions: Conclusion Thanks to Pexels, photographers and videographers have a great opportunity to market their work, get attention, and earn money. How effectively you contribute, how well you maintain your portfolio, and how well you look into alternative monetization avenues will determine your potential to turn your passion for photography into a lucrative career. Accept the possibilities of Pexels and start making money from your creative abilities right now.

Went to my first Vanguard shop tournament today, didn’t do great (1-2 is hardly a stellar result but hey, I won one!) but I had fun, got to enjoy myself, played against people I don’t normally play against, also got to play against people I normally do play against. Will I do it again? Yes. My locals has some pretty nice people, no one hit on me (I was the only girl there, but that’s nothing new to me, I’m used to being the Token Girl of most gaming groups at this point), people were focused more on the cards and the game play, so that’s hugely appreciated. Also got to play against some new people afterwards - I brought a couple of other decks with me that I just play “for fun” as opposed to “for tournament” - so that was pretty fun. Someone did actually pull the Minerva promo and was nice enough to sell it to me, so that’s 1 promo down, 3 more to go? XD
A little further self reflection after the cut (just because I doubt everyone here wants to actually hear me talk cards lol)
First game - went 2nd vs Hexaorb Aquamarine
Funny thing about Minerva - she doesn’t actually have a terrible game going second (going first = you get G3 first, going second = you get to restand on your first G3 turn). That said, it didn’t exactly matter this game because I got onto my G2 turn, rode Chamomile, called Cairbre (hit a dud top 3 and had to call a draw trigger, rip) but made up for it by checking my (blue) OT against my opponent who’d called No Guard (in his defense he was sitting on 1 damage). Swung the game my way after that since I’d pushed to 4 after that turn, and despite my opponent healing down to 3 on his turn, my deck Chose Violence on Turn 3 when I hit double crits on the first check (against my opponent’s PG) and then hit a draw when he did a 1 to pass. Overall just ... very sacky and essentially Genesis Doing Genesis Things with deck thinning.
Second game - went 1st vs Willista
Again checked OT on the offensive on Turn 2, but my opponent also checked his on the defensive, stalled things out, but then I saw zero triggers after that, so there way to defend against Willista and her restanding rear guards after that. I did manage to thin out 2 cards to put into Soul each time, so it was just a matter of not getting lucky - looked at my deck after the game and saw all my triggers ... in the bottom 2/3rds of my deck ^^;;
Third game - went 2nd against G4 Prison
A match up I really could’ve (and should’ve) played better against (considering I own the deck and casually played it for a while), and one I’ll definitely practice a few times in Dear Days just to figure out ways to play out of it and get creative with counters for just the general way the deck plays. Had a decent start early when my opponent sent 3 Drilling Angels to Prison (so I could discard combo pieces with the intention of Soul Charging them later) but then ran into problems on the Purelight turn simply because I had too much board and had cards in Soul (can’t really do the “empty out Soul for the Purelight turn” counter when you’re playing a deck that combos off of Soul). Biggest misplay though was putting my only Angelica from Soul to Prison when I had 2 Ciders in hand and ended up 10k short to guard their second Penetrate Aquas attack. That said, even if I’d made it it’s questionable how much I could’ve done the following turn with what I had since Minerva with 1 Soul and no board isn’t a great spot to be in, especially since I didn’t actually have a Persona Ride in hand either. Not a great match up for Minerva, but one I’ll have to put some time into figuring out An Out for (since I’m pretty sure this player will bring Prison again next week).

Wait until my doxxy screechy loser haters realize that the same meta they were themselves screaming against for years was, in fact, mutually intertwined with leaks they never perceived, and built upon those leaks by observation and understanding, yes, but from those kinds of conversations. Alchemy. Kabbalah. Spiral narrative that the crew is all tweeting out now. Literally everything that started their shrill evangelical pearl clutching about Cults.
It just. It doesn't fucking compute to them that they are so many years behind on the discourse of creatives that they can't even comprehend where to start fixing it, because they can't allow themselves to admit they've been flat wrong for over half a decade on... basically everything.
I mean hell, despite proven S12 market testing which costs the company money, despite Bobo nearly quitting, re-signing only for One Thing, which he wrote first, these chuds are STILL trying to save their "NOBODY INTENDED ANYTHING UNTIL THAT MOMENT S15" because, well, they refuse to uproot the basic truth that yeah, you guys were clueless clods for years. They'd rather find a way to argue to save their ego and hope anybody else believes the nonsense.
This is WHY they can never parse what people say or mean. They don't care about Robbie or Jensen's intent now any more than they did Bobo's back then, and you know what, it didn't stop Bobo, and now there's nobody to stop ANYONE. They care about THEIR perspective, THEIR egos, and THEIR ways to save image, and will go out self immolating to the very end.
I don't know who's really been HERE all these years of 2po's screaming failures against all the things that came true, or the lies he invented about others to try to smear them on manipulative emotional and ethos appeals without any kind of logos to it. (You know, ohhhh, people are SO SCARED of Aaron, he MIGHT doxx them, they theorize--while they're the ones that actually got caught doxxing people. At least twice. And they're the ones threatening people at cons. But uwu he's not civil enough. No logic, no reality, just attacks on character since they can't actually attack my leak record.)
Like bro. Reality doesn't care if you hate me or not. That's not how reality works. You can attack my character all you want. I could be a goddamn serial killer or some shit but if what I'm saying is true about a particular topic, it remains being true, regardless if by night I do fucked up shit. Reality doesn't bend to ethical appeals, much less completely made up ones designed to manipulate people emotionally like 2po does.
But like. This is literally The Same Picture. It's been The Same Picture for years. When they denied market testing, intent, a pending confession, the roadhouse, omissions, the pilot script, the morals and premise of the Winchesters, all of it. Deny deny deny, because of their egos and what they WANT to believe, rather than what IS. Over and over again, The Same Picture of the Same Chucklefucks stirring the Same Shit they've been stirring for 6 years to zero success.
And the thing is, if they could let go of the narcissism long enough to adjust their methodology and check their biases and ask WHY they keep getting this shit wrong for years on end vs me, their egos would ACTUALLY TAKE LESS HITS. Every single time among the shit I listed, they had an opportunity to inspect their methodology, but never did, and instead doubled down. At any point, they could have accepted, guess I was wrong there, lemme figure out where I messed up so I figure out how to be right. And then boom! They'd stop failing and getting angry. But they can not let themselves admit this shit, so in result, you get them doubling down for years and years on end, deeper and deeper into the hole, further and further from the truth, because now, well, goddamnit they've committed literal years to being wrong, and they'd have to accept their like, entire fandom presence is Being Wrong All The Time And Being A Complete Joke.
So those same egos, the ones that made them refuse to update at earlier junctions, are just going through trash compactors right now. They feel it, and it's what's causing thrashing like on 2po's blog lately. The pancake flip from trying to yell about his sources, to yelling nobody can have sources because NDAs, to whatever else. Just trying to claw his way down the wall while they realize everything THEY ever had was a fuckin' joke, so maybe they can project that at everyone else, and maybe THAT will save them. But it won't.
Just. Jesus guys. It's okay to be fuckin wrong. But once you make as big a mess as 2po and spnscripthunt and their various mods have, there's really no coming back from it. Because now they've committed THEIR ethos into it, doxxed, threatened, harassed, tried to invade and break into security, whatever the fuck they've done. They gave up ethics while trying to appeal to it. All in desperate irrelevant power cloys vs someone that's laughing at them for what they considered Fandom Power to begin with.

5 Factors Why You Should Consider SEO for Your Business in Canada in 2024
If you do not know about search engine optimization, you must be living under a rock. It is not just the need of every business, but also something that the world is relying on. From small businesses and MNCs to governments and NGOs, every entity, as well as individuals, are using SEO to the best of their knowledge to make things work in their favor.
Even if for some reason, you have not been able to hold your grasp on the topic, there are some basic aspects of SEO that every business in Canada needs to consider. SkyTrust, one of the Best SEO Companies in Canada is sharing the top 5 factors for your business ops and functioning.
1. Zero-Click Searches
It means exactly what it reads and sounds like. When the end user searches for something over the search engine but doesn’t click on any link, it doesn’t take them to your website or your desired landing page. But what are these things that people search for but don’t follow through by clicking on any of the provided results? It usually includes addresses of local businesses or services in their neighborhood, quick conversions like currency exchange rate or metric conversion, and rapid fact checks.
Keep these constraints in mind and try to integrate “featured snippets” in your digital marketing strategy.
2. Video SEO
The attention span of netizens is decreasing day by day. They skip every piece of content which is not moving or has no colors or sound in it. The video content is a guaranteed method that garners more audience than textual content as well as keeps them occupied for a longer period (depending upon the creativity and visual appeal of that piece).
You can get started by incorporating specific keywords in your video titles, tags, and descriptions, using relevant research tools. Start with YouTube which is an essential part of the search engine Google. Make sure your videos have catchy and relevant thumbnails to boost your click-through rates (CTR).
3. Search Generative Experience
This Google’s AI-powered SGE enhances user interactions with crispier and more concise results of your relevant query on SERPs. Its conversation-like model is no less than a treat for the end user who is searching for precise results in a short span of time. The audience across the USA is also banking on Google’s snapshot feature which results in more user-centric content.
To bank on this feature, you just have to keep going with your SEO strategy which will consider this SGE feature in improving your SERP ranking. Just because SGE is more relevant tomorrow than today, doesn’t mean we can abandon SEO for a better strategy like SGE.
4. Answer Engine Optimization
AEO is the AI-powered tech that assembles data and presents it, answering queries for the end users. With the increasing trend of chatbots and voice searches, the common internet user wants his/her queries to get resolved at the earliest. This is where AEO plays a crucial role.
An agency providing SEO services in Canada can help you master the art of AEO as both strategies go hand in hand. One of the major and easiest ways is to implement an impeccable Q&A format in most of your content so accessing that information becomes a hassle-free process for your target audience as well.
5. Revamp the Current Content
If you want to remain relevant to your audience and keep up with your search engine rank, you need to keep updating your existing content as per the upcoming policies and trends. It is crucial for your brand relevance as well as audience engagement. With the fast-paced lifecycle of content, it is very common that your audience finds your content irrelevant the very next month because the trends and time keep changing. So do the optimum.
End Note

Discover the Micro Magic: Finding the Perfect Influencers for Your Brand
Tumblr media
Imagine you’re a new business, a cool product, or an exciting service. You want the world to know about you, but reaching everyone yourself can be tricky. That’s where micro-influencers come in! They’re not your typical celebrities with millions of followers, but everyday people with engaged communities who love sharing about things they discover and enjoy. Find influencers at trusted platform fancall.
Step 1: Know Yourself
Before diving into the influencer pool, take a deep breath and define your brand’s identity and target audience. What are your values? What makes you unique? Who are you trying to reach? Having a clear understanding of your brand’s DNA and the people you want to connect with will guide your influencer search.
Step 2: The Hashtag Hunt
Imagine hashtags like treasure maps leading you to hidden gems. Look for words related to your brand and target audience, like #sportsfan or #musicallyinclined. Explore accounts using these hashtags, focusing on those with engaging content, a positive community, and a vibe that matches your brand.
Step 3: Follower Minefield
You might already have hidden gems in your own backyard! Check your followers for individuals with engaged profiles, content aligned with your brand, and a following between 1,000 and 10,000. Look for people who actively interact with their followers and seem passionate about things similar to your brand.
Step 4: Community Connections
Join online groups, forums, and communities where your target audience gathers. Look for individuals who actively contribute, share insightful content, and resonate with your brand values. Build relationships and see if they might be a good fit for collaborating.
Step 5: Platforms – Where Your Audience Hangs Out Identify the social media platforms where your target audience spends their time. Each platform has its unique micro-influencer landscape. Adapt your search strategies to each platform’s specific features and functionalities.
Step 6: Quality Over Quantity
Remember, influencer marketing is about quality, not just numbers. Don’t get blinded by follower counts. Analyze engagement rates, content authenticity, and brand alignment. Look for micro-influencers whose values and audience resonate with yours. A passionate advocate with a smaller following can be more impactful than a distant mega-influencer.
Step 7: Be Real, Partner Well
Micro-influencers often have strong connections with their communities. Leverage this authenticity! Instead of scripted endorsements, encourage them to creatively integrate your brand into their existing content style. Collaborate on genuine reviews, user-generated content, or even co-created campaigns.
Step 8: Track And Measure
Once you’ve found your micro-influencer partners, track the results of your collaborations. Use analytics tools to measure engagement, reach, and brand mentions. This data will help you refine your strategy and optimize future campaigns. Remember, influencer marketing is a journey, not a one-time event.
Bonus Tip: A Platform For The Trade
Bury all worries to approach different tools to find different kinds of influencers. With fancall, we have talented YouTubers associated with it. As a brand you can connect with them directly and finalize deals without middlemen interference and at zero commision. Here brands have the surety of the platform and potential to save a lot of money. Download fancall app today!
