I don't know what I'm doing with this fic's story anymore at this point, I'm just doing feck all but somehow it's also so fun to just... make it a lil wacky.

#aria rants #im still writing that mhyk fic. its like... getting so long i didnt intend this to get so long and im still not done but like #im also having so much fun with it like-- i cranked up my fuck it we ball meter with this and now i cannot be stopped #i dont even know if im doing these characters justice and ohgod i hope i am actually cuz this is nearing 5k words and its not #even done yet like im in a bit of a pickle here but also its kinda fun to just let loose a bit with the funny-ness of the story #cuz like this fic's story is set in modern times. the 3 characters in it are students with 1 that im partially projecting some #of my own oc's (alec's) traits too cuz i dont know much bout this character other than he likes art. is likeable. war changed him #to be quite jaded but frankly understandable cuz its war but also cuz he lost an arm during that war and that yikes for an artist #basically all i know bout this guy is that all he ever wanted was peace and harmony between wizards and humans and to fulfill #his dream of being a painter (which sadly comes only second cuz hes a prince and was crowned king) so now in my fic #since all the characters are younger than their canon counterparts cuz modern au and school setting. i just made him energetic #as can be. still an artist. hes roommates with another character. wants the other character which is the other half of the pairing im #supposed to write for to be his muse but its like... a shenanigan thing tryna get to that while he also has a gay panic #anyway im writing for alefau where i projected some of alec's traits (im so sorry and for shame on me) on a character whos name is #also alec cuz my brain is built the way that it is but also cuz i barely know anything bout the guy my own son was my best bet at helping #me write this fic and i dont even know what happening anymore its like the characters got a mind of its own now and im just #narrating and typing all that theyre doing and ive been stuck writing this fic for hours now its 3 am

Malec Promptlet: Royal AU

Asmodeus is the High King of Edom, a brutal and immoral overlord.

Edom conquered Idris two years ago after a long and protracted war, ended by the public execution of the King and Queen, Robert and Maryse Lightwood.

Alexander Lightwood, the Crown Prince and High General, is spared by Asmodeus, but only with the intention of having him serve as a living symbol of Idris' defeat by becoming the personal servant of Edom's own Crown Prince, Magnus Bane.

Prior to the war's end, Alec was able to send his siblings to safety in a neutral country across the sea, DuMort, even though he had to all but beg his sister and his shield-brother, Jace, to go. Alec had known that they were losing, the magic of Edom too powerful to fight much longer, and he'd played every emotional trick he could to make sure Jace and Izzy left their country and him behind. Max would need both of them with him to survive as a legitimate blood heir of a fallen kingdom.

Alec hadn't expected to survive himself.

But, when Asmodeus demands he bend the knee in the same room as his parent's bodies, Alec understands the trade at hand - his dignity for his remaining people's survival.

It's an easy decision for Alec to make.

The journey from Idris to Edom is hard, but Alec holds fast and eventually they make it to Edom's capital and he is thrown to the mercy of the Crown Prince's household. Every so often Asmodeus trots Alec out for some public humiliation, to prove Edom's superiority in front of visiting rulers wondering whether to take the offered treaty terms or risk negotiation, but for the most part everything is ... fine.

Magnus, as it turns out, is a kind master and Alec has no complaints.

As the seasons turn and begin to repeat, Magnus and Alec grow to be friends, confidantes even, though Alec is never truly able to forget the precariousness of his situation. Magnus desperately wants to be more, but he also knows that Alec doesn't have the power to say no, so he contents himself as they are. 

Magnus dreams of Alec being confident enough in their firm friendship and trust to perhaps want to be together as well, dreams even more secretly of the two of them ruling one day together as fully equal partners.

(Alec refuses to admit, even to himself, that he often dreams of similar tidings.) 

One night, however, Asmodeus calls Alec to serve him in his private rooms with a group of counselors and visiting officials from their southern neighbor. Magnus sadly watches Alec go, knowing exactly why Asmodeus wants Alec tonight of all nights. Negotiation begins tomorrow on a trade treaty, and watching Idris' fallen prince kneel to an enemy king is a powerful reminder of what it can cost to refuse Asmodeus' wishes.

Magnus goes to sleep, wishing futilely he was able to help without making things infinitely worse, hoping Alec will be well and whole in the morning.

It seems like his head has just touched the pillow when Magnus is woken up, suddenly and shockingly, the embers of the previous evening's fire providing just enough light to see by. Jolting up, heart racing, Magnus' mouth drops open to see Alec kneeling prostrate at the side of his bed.

Alec is frantic, broken apologies mixing in with barely intelligible explanations of something Magnus can't even begin to understand, so frantic and terrified is his friend. Magnus doesn't know what to do because Alec is shaking and trembling, and, even in those first days when Alec had thought he was to be executed and his people punished at the first mistake he'd made, he'd never been like this.

Magnus tries to comfort him, making calming sounds and promising that everything will be okay, but Alec doesn't seem to hear him. Alec won't rise and Magnus hates it because this is how servants react to his father, so he slips to his knees at Alec's side.

Thanking all the gods that Alec doesn't flinch at his touch - Magnus doesn't know what he would do if Alec did - the story finally comes tumbling out, Alec still refusing to meet his eyes.

Asmodeus and his retinue had been drunk, but Alec is well enough used to that. The casual slurs and violence they throw his way are what Alec has come to expect when he is called to serve the King.

(Magnus is livid at this unthinking confirmation. Alec is too quiet, too resigned to complain, has never mentioned this to him before - though Magnus had certainly suspected - and Magnus can do nothing but seethe helplessly as Alec mentions it as though it is nothing.)

But something had changed midway through the evening - there'd been a new horror lurking in the glint of Asmodeus' eyes. He'd grabbed Alec the next time he'd been close enough and forced him on his lap, laughing and wondering to the crowd exactly how well the Crown Prince of Idris would warm his bed.

Alec had panicked.

He keeps apologizing to Magnus and Magnus has a sudden, horrified image of Alec having grabbed a knife and slit his father's throat and the two of them having to run to escape charges of attempted regicide (because obviously Magnus isn't letting Alec run away by himself), but Alec keeps going and finally Magnus understands what had happened.

Alec claimed himself to be Magnus' bed slave instead- the only thing the King would have accepted as a reason for Alec to say no. Alec has no rights of his own in Edom. Only if Alec already belonged to Magnus, a possession that would irritate Magnus if someone else used it, could he refuse.

But Asmodeus won't hide this.

Asmodeus will think it hilarious, and Magnus heart stutters in his chest because he can't deny it without condemning Alec to the executioner's block now that it's been said.

Everyone will believe that Magnus cares not for consent and has chosen to use a former Prince and defeated enemy in the basest way possible.

And he cannot deny it.

But Magnus swallows his horror and holds Alec to his chest, running his hand soothingly across Alec's back until the trembling subsides and his exhausted friend is nearly falling asleep in his arms.

Tomorrow will be one of the hardest days of Magnus' life, but he will do anything to spare Alec from his father.

Anything.

My Noble Lover is a romance novel set in the Medieval era following a young Debutante as she navigates balls and parties, falls in love, and has to deal with high society etiquette, snide gossipers and an incredibly jealous villain who will stop at nothing to get the man he loves.

Clary Fairchild, the daughter of house Fairchild debuts this season. As her father was exiled and her family’s estate taken over by the Royal palace until her elder brother turned of age, she grew up in the palace and thus grew close to the Crown Prince and a group of artists who frequent the palace. She falls in love with, and eventually gets married to Jace Herondale after a long season full of trials and tribulations.

Jace Herondale is the heir to the Herondale estate and the ward of the Trueblood family, who took him in after his parents died. He is the perfect charming image of a nobleman. Though initially reluctant to get married, he attends the season’s balls to look for a wife after learning that his parents’ will contained a specific stipulation - he needs to get married to inherit the estate.

Once an artist and now married into the Trueblood family, Simon is Clary’s best friend and closest confidante. Though a noble by marriage, Simon is looked down upon by several nobles, including his eldest brother-in-law. Simon still pursues his art, this time backed by wealth and the support of his wife.

The only daughter of the Truebloods, Isabelle grows close to Clary after her debut and helps her out, especially with her courtship with Jace Herondale, who Isabelle considers a brother. Isabelle is also married to Simon Lewis, due to which she had a falling out with her older brother, whom she once had a strong bond with.

The Crown Prince of Alicante, Magnus is an enigmatic, often mysterious figure. However, having grown up alongside Clary, he considers her a little sister and helps her when needed, providing little tidbits of insider information, stepping in to rescue her when needed, and punishing anyone who steps too far - including ordering the execution of someone who hurts her direly.

The eldest son and heir to the Trueblood estate, Alexander is in love with the Trueblood family’s ward, Jace Herondale. As such, he will stop at nothing to gain Jace’s affections, thus going head to head with Clary Fairchild multiple times. Eventually, after pushing Clary Fairchild down a flight of stairs and putting her into a coma for two weeks, he is executed.

He’s not supposed to be here, but he is. Having been reincarnated into this novel in Alexander Trueblood’s body, Alec only has one mission: escape the fate that awaits him.

“Alec,” Maryse calls like she has for the last fifteen minutes and for a moment, she thinks she sees him but then the shadows move and he’s not there, just another empty corner. It’s with annoyance that Maryse walks away, her heels clicking and tapping, and she tries not to let her anger get the best of her, or her worry.

It would be one thing if this rarely happened, but Alec is a strange and silent child, who listens obediently but who watches more closely and quietly that Maryse thought a child could. It was useful, at first, when Maryse needed to spend as much time on Valentine’s orders as possible.  But here, in New York, now that she’s from under Valentine’s thumb and struggling to regain honor for the name she wears, she has time to be a mother and she hates how hard it is.

Alec is more difficult to find than a shape-shifting demon, sticking close to the shadows and rarely smiles. Oh, he’ll smile to himself and sometimes he’ll play with Izzy and Maryse will see hints of the child he is, but more and more those moments are lost to her. The smile gone before she looks and Alec’s eyes are cold as they watch her, as if she’s unfamiliar and a threat.

It’s unnerving, to be looked at by her own heir and Maryse ignores the whispers of her own instincts telling her that something is wrong and pushes him harder, speaks to him more firmly when she does see him.

And Alec never complains, he never starts fight or argues with her, but he never stops watching her and for some reason, it scares Maryse more.

Alec struggles to bring the flowers together in a crown and he pouts when it falls apart.

“Mama, your crown broke.” He complains to the darkness of his room, secure in the knowledge that his mother is always listening to him, always watching him.

In an instant, a body made of willowy shadows forms and shifting shadows cup his face. Alec tilts his head up and smiles at the faceless shadows that make up his real mother and he sighs as her possessive magic covers him in a soul-deep hug.

“My sweet little prince, always so good for me.” Mama croons and her hands pet through his hair and Alec sighs in delight, leaning into the touch with an eagerness that he only shows around his mother. 

“Mama, I miss you.” He admits it and instead of scolding him, his mother makes a sound as if she’s been lanced and the darkness of her form pulls him even closer to the darkness.

“Precious child, I miss you. So very much, my little prince. It won’t be forever though, I’m still here. When you are older, we’ll find a way.” Mama reminds him and Alec nods and clutches the shifting sands of her dress and wishes that he could just be swept away by his mama.

“Love you mama.” He promises, because he does and there is no one in the entire world that he loves as much as his mother.

“Mama, I don’t want to marry a girl when I grow up.” Alec tells her, his nose wrinkled as he’s going over a book of runes. Lilith has been helpfully reminding him of some that have been lost to time and Lilith pauses at this change in subject.

“You don’t ever need to get married.” Lilith says, because she hardly needs Alec thinking he needs to go out and get engaged at a young age like others of his kind.

“I don’t want to marry a girl.” Alec repeats and he’s watching her with something suspicious in his eyes.

“Good.” Lilith says, when she finally realizes what he means. She’ll be the only woman of actual importance in her son’s life and considering Lilith has had to share him with Maryse and Isabelle. “I’ll find you a decent warlock or seelie, when you’re old enough.” She adds, because that should give her a few centuries to properly coddle Alec once she has him away from his mortal ties.

Alec doesn’t seem concerned that she’s making decisions for him and Lilith settles, content in the knowledge that she is an amazing mother and doing a much better job than that bitch, Maryse.

Swan Lake:

In a distant kingdom, thriving in a time of magic, there lived a young girl, Ondine (Odette), the daughter of the village baker, with beautiful red hair and a lovely dancer. One day, a unicorn, Missy (Lila), happens to wander into the village, and Ondine is compelled to follow her through a waterfall into an enchanted forest. When Missy gets caught on a branch by the rope around her neck, Ondine pulls a crystal from an ancient tree to cut her free, observed by Caline (Fairy Queen), the ruler of the forest and two of her most loyal elves, Denise (Carlita) and Simon (Ivan). It turns out the crystal is magic and the one who pulls it free will save the forest from Gabriel (Rothbart), Caline’s evil cousin, who then shows up with his daughter, Lila (Odile). He curses Ondine to become a swan during the day, as he did to most of the elves with other animals, but Caline turns the crystal into a crown which provides Ondine protection from further magic. To figure out how to defeat Gabriel, they visit the troll, Anais (Erasmus), to get the book of Forest Lore. After this, Ondine meets Prince Kim (Daniel) who Gabriel lured to the forest to shoot her while she was in swan form. The two quickly develop feelings for each other, and he invites her to royal ball, giving the magical creatures hope that the blossoming love between them can defeat Gabriel, but the wicked sorcerer has a plan involving a disguised Lila to prevent that. Ondine and the Enchanted Forest denizens work together to combat this, hoping they can make it in time…

Diamond Castle:

In another distant time, loving couple Rose (Liana) and Juleka (Alexa) live in a cottage together where they love to sing together and grow the flowers they sell in the village. One night, just after they find two perfectly heart-shaped stones that they use to make necklaces, a terrible storm blows through, destroying their garden. Despite this, Rose offers some of their food to a starving old woman, who gifts her a beautiful old hand mirror. As they sing while repairing their garden, a third voice joins them, which is when they meet Mindy (Melody), a young muse apprentice trapped in the mirror who is hiding from Nadja (Lydia), a scorned muse who desired to be the only one. Juleka and Rose quickly befriend and agree to help her, but they are found by Nadja’s dragon minion, Alec (Slyder). Mindy explains that if she plays the instruments of the other two muses, Clara and Vivica (Dori & Phaedra), they may be able to defeat Nadja. They begin their journey to the Diamond Castle, the home of the muses, along the way joined by Roarr and Daizzi (Lily & Sparkles), a tiger cub and piglet, and twins Adrien and Felix (Jeremy & Ian). But Nadja manages to get to Juleka by threatening her mother and brother, prompting her to try to keep Rose from continuing the journey when they happen upon a mansion that is supposedly fated to be theirs. An angry Rose refuses and leaves with Mindy, prompting a despairing Juleka to remove her magical necklace, leaving her able to be brainwashed by Nadja’s flute. Rose is then captured and meets the mesmerized Juleka, with Nadja taking Mindy, who agrees to take her to the castle if she releases the other two girls. Thankfully, Roarr brings Juleka’s necklace, allowing Rose to break the spell on her girlfriend, allowing the two to escape the cave to try to save Mindy, the Diamond Castle, and the world’s love of music!

Non-Canon, more of a fantasy AU, main Malec:

Alec is so pissed, when the producers who he brokered a deal with for the tv-series/movie based on his book, vandalize his story. The character of crown prince Alexander (okay, so it was a bit of a self-insert. And maybe that was a bad idea, because drunk Alec was stupid enough to fall asleep on some railways and get offed by a train. HOWEVER, next thing he knows, he wakes up in a warm, soft bed, as crown prince Alexander, in the world of his book.

ive said this before but i cant get over what a good example this one is of how she can't not kick herself for literally just Existing. "nice art" is easily one of the top five or top three most normal and regular things to say upon entering someone's household for the first time and she still feels like an idiot for it. taylor my girl :( mad at herself for existing

Prompt time! Everytime Magnus goes to Edom he comes back changed. This last time, after taking his father's throne, defeating Lilith, and destroying Edom, no one is sure what he is anymore but Alec is gonna worship him anyway.

i liked this idea a lot! i hope you enjoy

Alec stares at Magnus as his fiancé leaves for Edom and he wonders what it will take from Magnus this time. 

Alec doesn’t want to have to watch him go, to lose Magnus again with only the hope that he’ll come back. The last time this happened, Alec still thought Magnus was nearly infallible and he knows how untrue  that is now.

Edom changes those who return to her and what if this time, it takes away from Magnus the part that loves Alec.

It’s selfish and possessive but Alec ignores all of that and his confused siblings as he presses against Magnus.

“It’s only Edom.” He reminds him, voice thick and wet with tears because Alec won’t survive living without Magnus, “so let me come.”

Magnus wants to ask if Alexander is sure, but he can’t bear to have it taken back. It’s with his heart fluttering with adoration that Magnus pulls Alexander to him, wrapping him in his arms and magic.

The thing his boy hasn’t realized, Magnus thinks as Magnus takes them to Edom and the magic of the realm sinks her claws deep into Magnus, is that Edom is going to change him too.

It’s with a renewed interest that Edom presses intimately against Magnus and curls around him eagerly. 

It’s Alexander, Magnus realizes. 

Magnus’ satiation is what Edom craves and he’s fed her after she’s been starved for centuries.

“Give me the strength to protect him and you will never go hungry again.” Magnus vows and Edom reaches out with a deep, aching chasm of lust that’s never been satiated as Magnus is crowned by Edom’s power.

The magic of royals and divine prince’s flows through him and he turns to look towards Lilith’s lair with a smirk..

Magnus considers letting the rift stay open a little longer — deplete more of Lilith’s strength — except he doesn’t want to cause his boy worry. Instead Magnus takes the torn dimension and pulls it together before sealing it together with his newly claimed magic.

It means he’s cauterized where Lilith’s magic once ruled and her shriek echoes in her power, reverberating throughout Edom.

Magnus smirks as he portals himself into the heart of Lilith’s power.

What does it matter where he goes now, when all of Edom is Magnus’ to control and devour. 

In Magnus’ new lair, Alexander is waiting for Magnus, resting on Magnus’ throne as Edom weaves her power into his soul to claim him as much as she has Magnus.
