Peryite is such an underrated daedric prince to me, conceptually. His sphere of influence has so much potential to explore. Like, disease and the natural order together? The way his followers see disease as a blessing? I love the implications there alone. He's the weakest prince, but his sphere has the potential to be so subtly destructive. One of his symbols, skeevers, represents that so well. The series has been kinda meh at exploring the princes philosophically but I feel like they are right on the cusp of something interesting with him, but since he isn't as flashy or obviously "bad" (or sexy) as the other ones he keeps getting put on the backburner. Gimme an interesting Peryite storyline pretty please. Explore things a little

Always carry a fork with you. If someone tries to rob you, pull the fork out of your pocket and say, "Thank you, Lord, for this meal I'm about to have," and charge at them with the fork.

Confession: Elder scrolls online isn’t focusing on the right daedric princes. We’ve seen Mehrunes Dagon, we’ve seen Hermaeus Mora. Let us go to a daedric realm we literally have not seen before or that hasn’t been fleshed out for the love of god. Namira’s realm would be sick, or even Vaermina’s. Let’s stop rehashing the same stories and see something we’ve never seen before.

The daedric princes fav videogames with little to no explanation:
Azura plays Minecraft but only on creative mode, and she creates aesthetic masterpieces.
Boethiah plays Call of Duty and every game she friendly fires.
Clavicus Vile likes literally any game that can curb his boredom, but in secret he plays Nintendo Dogs and will fiercely deny it if caught.
Hermaeus Mora plays TES games (and of course he knows all the lore).
Hircine isn’t big on video games, but he’s played Duck Hunt once or twice.
When asked his favorite video game, Jyggalag and Sheogorath both said Microsoft Excel but for different reasons.
Malacath tries to play Call of Duty, but Boethiah keeps one-shotting him whether he’s on her team or not.
Mehrunes Dagon’s frequently plays God of War, but his favorite video game is going onto Azura’s Minecraft server and destroying whatever she builds.
Everyone believes Mephala when she says she doesn’t play video games, but she’s really good at Assassin’s Creed.
Meridia plays the Sims 3, but in the way that every one of her sims’ lives is micromanaged perfectly and if even one accident happens she rage quits.
Molag Bal plays the Sims 3, but in the way that he puts his sims in pools and takes away the pool ladder.
Namira plays those online, independently created, super niche creepypasta games that try to trick you into thinking your computer’s been hacked.
Nocturnal plays Dark Souls/Elden Ring and she does a complete play through with no deaths on the first try.
Peryite plays Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator and he’s bad at it.
Sanguine started out playing otomes/dating sims ironically, but now he unironically loves them.
Vaermina isn’t partial to video games, but she doesn’t mind horror games like amnesia.

Ranking the Daedra by power in Skyrim
So during the events of The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, we have a quest for every Daedric Prince bar one. In lore, the Daedra often ascend and descend the power rankings according to what happens within Mundus, so this is my opinion on what I think is their current power. This takes note of who and what they influence, their lore, how often they are brought up in Skyrim, but mostly relies on contextual evidence. 17) Jygglag: Not present whatsoever, not even mentioned in the base game besides one book 16) Peryite: Is referenced multiple times as the weakest daedric prince, and there is no widespread plague present or mentioned in game. 15) Sanguine: Often on the lowest rungs anyway, but in Skyrim there is never shown to be much revelry going on with the war and all. 14) Malacath: Malacath is mostly shown to be uninvolved with anything besides the four Orc Strongholds in Skyrim. Consistently thought to be one of the weaker princes. 13) Clavicus Vile: He says this "As much as I hate to say it, you're almost as powerful as I am right now." and Barbas contains half of his power which he is divorced from. 12) Sheogorath: While war often leads to madness, not enough time has passed for madness to set in for ptsd to develop. There are also shown to be very few truly mad people in the game. 11) Meridia: With the war going on, and no dedicated cult in skyrim at the moment, her sphere would be so weakened a necromancer was able to pervert one of her artifacts. 10) Mephala: Has a weakened artifact and is not shown to have an active cult, only current influence shown is through a weakened Dark Brotherhood, a child of a Jarl, and potentially the Dragonborn, but upcoming events will likely empower her. 9) Boethiah: The war is likely keeping her more powerful than her peers, but she is not shown to have much influence in current events besides her cult. 8) Azura: Widely worshipped and respected by most religions, she likely is often right in the middle on the totem pole for daedric power. Not shown to have much influence over current events in skyrim, but she holds domain over fate and Prophecy. 7) Namira: She is one of the most powerful daedra full stop, but currently does not seem to have an active influence in mortal affairs. Importantly she is considered an Ur-Daedra, meaning she was present before Aedra. Actively worshiped in the Reach, and indeed the Forsworn consider her one of their main deities. 6) Molag-Bal: While probably incredibly weak when considering just the base game; he is shown to be one of the main antagonists of Tamriel. Vampires, necromancers, and torturers are his main worshipers, of which there are plenty in the base game. As well, the Volkihar are his direct subjects and depending on the actions taken in game, may be one of the most powerful factions in the game. 5) Hircine: While shown to care little for the events of Skyrim, he is widely respected by Nords and actively worshiped in the Reach, as well as having influence over one of the guilds of Skyrim that requires multiple quests to resolve. Can actively take souls intended for Sovangarde through the disease Lycanthropy or any other were-beast affliction. 4) Vaermina: Is able to actively affect the dreams of an entire town for days and maybe even a week. With war comes strife, and strife brings Nightmares. While not typically seen as powerful, she does have the most notable influence over the base game with an entire town under her thumb. 3) Mehrunes Dagon: Though in the base game he does not seem to do much, Civil War, Change, and Strife are his bread and butter in terms of spheres of influence. In addition, since the creation club may have some canon to it; Mehrunes Dagon has a portal to his plain that cannot be closed opened in the Jerall mountains. One must assume then that he has considerable power still despite the Oblivion Crisis. 2) Nocturnal: One of the other Ur-Daedra, while she is weakened without the Skeleton Key, it is restored at the end of the Thieves Guild questline. Even then she has a temple full of loyal ghosts and once the key is restored she has an active gateway into her realm open. Was able to curse an entire guild even with her power reduced, and to a lesser extent thieves across Skyrim too noticed a string of bad luck. 1) Hermaeus Mora: Actively has an influence over the first and last Dragonborn, influence over an entire island, and his realm is shown to be vast in game. The Last Dragonborn that slayed the Godlike entity Alduin and is referenced to be about as powerful as a daedric prince is his Champion. Can literally materialize a portion of his true self in game. Another Ur-Daedra. Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions with me! I’d be interested to see what everyone thinks about these rankings. As an honorable mention I’d say the Ideal Masters are probably between Peryite and Jygglag since they do have their own realm in Oblivion.

I know this is just due to Bethesda laziness but I personally headcanon that Eola is actually an aspect of Namira due to them sharing a voice actor

Daedra, Divine, and Undeath
by Palel Jorian, Necromancy Master of the College of Whispers and Fasti Silver-Tongue, Scholar of the College of Whispers
It is very much worth noting that being undead is generally frowned upon in wider Tamriellic society, regardless of whether you’re a shambling zombie, a flesh-less skeleton, or a suave vampire. There are a rare few post-expired persons who have been able to blend more seamlessly into society.
Having said that, most of the Eight Divines are very anti-undead – or, in some cases, more specific in their detestation. There are also many fascinating notes about the undead when compared to different Daedric Princes. This paper hopes to shine light on such a dark topic.
Molag Bal, as the originator of vampirism, is naturally noted as very pro-undead. Beyond being the Daedric Prince of Domination and Rape and the Father of Vampires, he is also the patron of the Order of the Black Worm, an order that wields necromancy in his name. This cult was once led by the Aldmer lich known as Mannimarco, who has also been worshiped as a god (though whether or not he was is a matter of great debate).
An unexpected entry is the Daedric Prince Sheogorath. Despite not being traditionally associated with necromancy, it has been documented that his Gatekeeper of the Fringe – a series of gigantic guardians that protect the Gates of Madness in Sheogorath’s realm of the Shivering Isles – is a powerful undead known as a Flesh Atronach.
The Daedric Prince Sanguine appears in this list of pro-undead Daedra, but only in the form of the Khajiiti god Sangiin. The Blood Cat, as he is known, was the one that gave vampirism to the Khajiit as a form of temptation. Khajiiti vampire clans worship Sanguine as the giver of their dark natures.
Namira, Daedric Prince of Ancient Darkness and the Lady of Decay, has been historically known to favor vampires. It’s unknown if she has any further connection to the undead of Nirn beyond that.
Clavicus Vile is the Daedric Prince of Trickery and Bargains. It is said that he fulfilled a deal with vampires to help them blend into society better. There is also a story of him turning a tribe of Kothringi into undead and has “cured” vampire worshipers (with death). It’s pretty ambiguous about whether or not he cares about the undead just because they’re undead – rather, the interest seems to be in the usual thing he worries about, that being how he can make a deal that he wins in the end.
Similarly, Hircine has been known to use undeath as a revenge curse. The Daedric Prince of the Hunt is believed to be connected to the Noxiphilic Sanguivora strain of vampirism, but this theory originates from a piece of fiction known as “Seventeen Tastes of Infamy” and was popularized by Cinna Scholasticus, who is infamous for his sensationalism.
Finally among the ambiguous Daedric Princes is Peryite, the Daedric Prince of Natural Order and Pestilence. A recipe for summoning incense includes vampire dust. It’s unknown if this is because he favors vampires as the spreaders of disease or dislikes them for another reason.
Continuing the theme of Daedric Princes but pivoting into the list of gods that detest the undead, we have Meridia, the Prince of Life and Lady of Light. She has a well-documented hatred of the undead and is known to give the Daedric Artifact Dawnbreaker to mortals to vanquish the undead in her name. She is also the patron of the Purified, immortals (or undead, it’s very unclear) who serve her unquestioningly to carry out her will.
Azura, Daedric Prince of Dusk and Dawn and the Goddess of Twilight, has historically had her vampirism-afflicted followers killed to bring them the peace of death.
Finally, Vaermina (the Prince of Dreams and Nightmares) has ordered liches killed and is rumored to have a cure for vampirism. Admittedly this report comes from barely-preserved records of the Nerevarine in 3E 427 and is severely lacking in detail.
None of the Eight Divines are known to favor the undead, and four specifically detest the undead: Arkay, Dibella, Stendarr, and Zenithar.
Arkay is the God of the Cycle of Brith and Death whose priests are staunch opponents of necromancy and the undead alike. The teachings of Dibella, Goddess of Love, Beauty, and Affection, agree with the teachings of Arkay that vampires have impure spirits, and discourages love between the living and the undead.
Stendarr’s faithful are known to hunt down four Abominations defined by Vinicius Imbrex, Archbishop of Chorrol between 1E 1051 and 1E 1087. These four Abominations are the Daedra, lycanthropes, the undead, and vampires (despite vampires already being covered by the category of “undead”). The history of Stendarr’s faithful and their battles with these four Abominations is as long and bloody as the rest of Tamriel’s history.
To a far lesser extent than the other Divines, the God of Work and Commerce, Zenithar, is also put in the position of being anti-undead. He is attributed the Mace of the Crusader (also known as the Mace of Zenithar). This Crusader’s Relic is known to turn the undead and make them flee battle for a short period of time. No further information about Zenithar’s teachings on the undead are available to the College of Whispers at this time.
While we here at the College of Whispers do not outlaw the study of necromancy or the act of being undead, it’s very important to choose a patron wisely, if you must deal with the Daedric Princes and the Eight Divines.
