"Oh (Y/N)? Why are you trying to hide?" Rantaro called out in a singsong voice, sending shivers of anticipation down your spine. You hadn’t meant to run from him when he jokingly threatened to tickle you- it was a gut reaction. Now he was hunting you down, the promise for said tickles clear as day.

You thought down the giggles as you watched his feet approach, covering your mouth with wide eyes when they seemed to pause just before you. Seconds ticked by, the tension nearly breaking your cover. Finally, he moved along.

Daring a peek, you looked out towards the direction he went, finding no one there. “Huh..I guess he left?” You thought outloud.

“Boo.” Rantaro spoke softly in your ear.

You squeaked, flailing in surprise. That however proved to be nothing compared to the noise you let out when his arms came around you, wiggling into your belly with determined fingers. “Rahhahahahhan! Ahehahahahhaa, staahahahap ihihiihihihihit!”

“Aww, is someone too ticklish for their own good? Are they?” Rantaro cooed at you, nosing the back of your neck sweetly as he danced his fingers up and down your sides. “I can understand running away now. Still, I want to hear those cute little noises you make when I tickle you here.” He pinched your ribs, making you squeal. “All those pretty squeals and laughs you let out when I walk my fingers here~” He did just that, strutting two fingers up your side to wiggle them beneath your armpit, making you giggle like a child. “I could look at your cute blushing face all day. Seeing you smile like that- it’s so very cute.”

“REhahahahhahahahanthahhahahro, plehahhahahahhahshe!” Your face felt like it was on fire, your cheeks starting to hurt from how hard you were smiling. “Stahhahahap!”

“Hehe, okay okay.” Rantaro smiled, stopping his tickling but keeping his arms around you as you sank against his chest, gasping for air. “You really are cute, you know that?”

“Suhuhuhush…ehhehheheheehe.” You groaned, swatting at him lightly and earning a warm chuckle. “Yohoohhou’re terrible! Uhuuhugh, I cahahn’t stand you!”

“Hehe, love you too.” Rantaro leaned down, kissing your brow.

mukuro grabs her things together, stuffing her weapons and such into her roughly textured bag. she really needs to leave, or she knows junko’s gonna have her ass for dinner. she doesn’t need more on her plate, everything is stressful and a lot-

til she hears your quiet voice from the hallway, and that’s when she knows she’s really in trouble. the thing is, mukuro has such a difficult time saying no to you, but when it comes to junko? things are a little different.

don’t get her wrong, mukuro adores you and loves you to no end, but junko.. it’s a super complicated situation. she could be hanged if she slips up just the slightest, have a hand grenade thrown at her for saying the wrong thing, have a knife repeatedly attempting to stab her for not doing something right. it’s always a fine line with junko, but mukuro has had to do it for years.

it’s customary.

but she feels so genuinely despaired when you walk up to her, bare feet padding against the hard wood floor.

“mu-mu..? where are you going..?”

your sleepy voice makes her frown softly. “ah, sorry darling, did I wake you? I’m just leaving to go see junko-“

“her? mu-mu, you can cancel just one night can’t you..? please?”

she sighs heavily, and reaches out to pet your cheek with her calloused hand. “love, I.. I don’t..”

“c’mon, mu-mu she’s so dangerous and I.. I hate that you still hang around her and help her. she’s not worth your time and she’s.. she’s using you. besides.. I don’t wanna be alone tonight, mu-mu. I might throw up if you’re gone again tonight. please stay mu-mu.”

your words made her almost tear up. almost. it’s hard to get her to cry anymore, but you seem to be the only one that gets her close to it. she sighs once more, setting her bag down and turning to you. “love, I don’t.. I can’t, honey, I.. she needs me and-“

“no she doesn’t! she can do everything she wants, and you’re stuck being some loyal little puppy. mu-mu, please please stop caring so much about her, let her deal with her stuff on her own. you mean too much to me to see you get hurt, much less by her.. please mu-mu, I need you tonight, stay with me. please?”

your strong pout, the small little tears pricking your waterline. she’s teetering on the edge of giving in. but she knows there could be consequences.

but she thinks, for the first time, fuck consequences. I’ve been having to do what she says like a mutt for years on end. what can’t she do that somehow I have to do for her? she almost ended the world. she did end the world. she can do things on her own.

she nods, with another strong sigh, and a gentle kiss to your forehead.

“okay,” she says, wrapping you up in her arms, “I’ll stay with you, love.”

and at that, you’re dragging her back to bed, and she’s fast to fall asleep in your arms. but not before taking a picture of the two of you, and finally gaining the confidence to tell her sister something she should’ve a long time ago.
