on the point of including black people in the show (or any period show), a lot of the outrage can sometimes come across as performative to me. it's one thing to feel upset about how little screentime black characters get compared to white characters (a valid criticism, believe me, I Know! give me an hour and i could talk your ear off about how this constantly annoys me as a black person who's damned to enjoy period pieces), but it's another to Only get upset while not actually creating content for said black characters, Especially when fandom (not just hbo war, but in general) is famous for taking Extremely minor characters and creating entire worlds with them, to the point where you wouldn't know they're minor characters at all until you check out the source yourself. richard macon, alexander jefferson, and robert daniels each have only 20 or less posts about them (at the time of publishing this post). in my own fandom experience (within fandoms both big and small and old and new, whatever), i've seen more content (posts, art pieces, analyses, fics, etc) made for minor white characters in less than a mere week's time (it's not a competiton lol i'm just giving a perspective here). so idk. obviously, there's nothing anyone here can do about a show that's already been filmed and released. we got what we got. thas it. at least in the great wide world of fandom, you can actually do something about it, turning the big into small. there's precedent for that. otherwise it just feels like complaining for the sake of complaining

Just some tough questions:
Matt Casey or Sylvie Brett?
Stella Kidd or Kelly Severide?
Kim Burgess or Adam Ruzek?
Kevin or Trudy?
Mouch or Hermann?
Violet or Ritter?
April or Ethan?
Will or Connor?
Maggie or Dr Charles?
Sharon or Boden?
Hailey or Jay?
Gallo or Carver?
You weren't kidding when you said tough questions, these were SO SO hard. But here:
Matt Casey or Sylvie Brett - I adore Matt, I really do, and JS is one of my favourite CF actors, but Sylvie... just basically all of her scenes, I love and enjoy her so much.
Stella Kidd or Kelly Severide - oh this was SO SO hard, it was one of the most agonizing of them, but in the end I just had to chose Stella. I adore and love Kelly, but man, sometimes he really annoys me (especially earlier seasons - the time between Shay era and Stella era, that in particular).
Kim Burgess or Adam Ruzek - now THIS was my hardest choice. I love these two so much, I think I love others, and I do, but whenever I see either of them I get all heart eyed I swear, I love them. But inevitably, Kim is my girl.
Kevin or Trudy - you are truly, truly cruel having to make me choose between these two. I kept going back and forth with my answer here, but I finally landed on Kevin. He's my king, and Trudy is my sarcastic queen but Kev needs alllll the love.
Mouch or Herrmann - no offense to Herrmann, because I do love him, but Mouch is so iconic and I love him so dearly.
Violet or Ritter - THIS WAS SO CRUEL. I bloody adore Violet, and she's so pretty but Ritter, man. Ritter is my guy. I've been rewatching fire and oh my, I've fallen in love with him even more all over again. But in the end, I went with Violet, but only just. Honestly, this one I was the closest with just fucking it and calling it a tie.
April or Ethan - Ethan. I love these two the most when together vs individually (even though I am fond of both individually) but Ethan just has my heart more than April does.
Will or Connor - Connor is one of my most favourite characters ever. If you put him against most of med's cast, I'd choose him every time.
Maggie or Dr Charles - I stopped loving him as much after a few seasons, but I did really enjoy him (especially at the start) with Sarah. Maggie I do like, but she's not one of my faves and I honestly could take her or leave her.
Sharon or Boden - Boden, any day and every day. I love him so so much, and out of all the OC leaders, he's the one I'd most want to work under.
Hailey or Jay - I have a love/hate relationship with the both of them, but I've loved a lot more of Jay scenes then Hailey's.
Gallo or Carver - Gallo! Gallo is my boy. I do like Carver, but I don't 'love' him - I was sad at Gallo leaving, but if Carver left, I wouldn't be as sad.
Thank you for asking!! Sorry it took a while to get to, this was a really fun ask that I wanted to make sure I had enough time and energy to properly dedicate to it!!

little headcannons about elenore on board the enterprise.                        yes i will totally update these the more i rewatch.
1. she 100% would have to spend a solid couple of days in the decon chamber. considering no one really considered all the illnesses and viruses that she hasn’t been exposed too yet. she actually happened to get deathly sick her third day on board. phlox was beside himself trying to keep her alive. 2. she hoards her inhaler with her life. the way that she probably doesn’t know if they could synthesize anymore. so she’s just wheezing every so often because she doesn’t want to waste it. until she fucking passes out in the hall and phlox is literally just “ ????? bitch????? its simple. “ 3. ellie does sometimes go poof. she disappears for a couple of days before always returning back to the enterprise. it’s almost like home base for her. she’s safe there. 3.1. she disappears to future ships. she can’t tell her enterprise crew, but it does help her get the upper hand on learner about new species. 4. but it also means that her and daniels have beef. 4.1. she also promptly stole his quarters. 5. she actually impresses chef when she’s finally cleared to roam the ship. she brings her a game and he actually lets her work a little bit in the galley. 6. which means she also proves her worth to archer. she does his dinner some nights. while also ripping it with desserts , for the little senior staff dinners. but she’s finally feeling useful after pretty much taking up space in sickbay for two solid weeks. 7. ellie introduces the crew to the wonders of 21st century reality tv. she finds shows like big brother , married at first sight (australia bc there is no better version) and even the bachelor. 7.1. t’pol is very very much into the bachelor , even if she would never admit it. she lets ellie eat from her popcorn bucket. 7.2. trip is very much into big brother. 7.3. hoshi adores a good singing contest. 8. ellie and trip bond over sun , surf and florida. well for ellie its mainly bonding over the fact that disney.world still exists. the idea that it does has ellie bouncing out of her seat (and a little terrified). 9. ellie has a four legged shadow.  she fed porthos cheese once and that dog follows her everywhere. 9.1. if he’s a good enough dog , she will feed him something more nutritious than the bagged dog food archer always seems to give him. 10. ngl when i say the four of them , i mean archer/trip/t’pol/ellie , all somehow end up joined at the hip. maybe its just a senior staff type of thing. the only ones to know of ellie’s special ability or something else. who knows. :)))))

Honestly Stargate would've even better is Daniel got laid more, on screen as proof..
Honestly given that every woman who canonically ever shows a passing interest in him is or becomes an absolute maniac, I think it'd might've chilled him out but at what cost to the rest of the universe

So how do you guys pronounce some of the names in tfota? I found out that I pronounce some of them differently because of my first language so here we go,
Cardan: Car-dan (like the automobile and the nickname for Daniel. I heard it's supposed to be prounonced like Car-den?)
Jude: Joode
Madoc: Má-dock (probably the name that is the most different than how it's suppose to be pronounced. I heard it was suppose to be Ma-dec??)
Vivienne: Vivi-eenn
Taryn: Tahreen
Dulcamara: Dool-kah-mārah
Liriope: Lili-wrope (me thinking it was "Lilirope" this whole time until recently)
Balekin: Bale-kin (apparently it's bal-kin. But idk calling him hay-bale seems funnier)
Oriana: Or-ee-ana (pretty much the same)
Suren: Soo-wren (with a little bit of rolling the r's)
Caelia: Kaye-lia
Nicasia: Nih-cah-sia (IS IT SUPPOSE TO BE NIC-KAY-SYAH??? 😭😭)
Locke: Locke (what else is it suppose to be)
Rhyia: Ree-a
Valerian: Veh-le-reean

Before I get into this here's my kneecaps in case I forget later
Okay so, Dan redemption. I saw a fic where Dan was short for Danimir, to symbolize him replacing his human half with Vlad's ghost half. In order to let himself join the family, he would need to own up to his actions so that he can start to actively try to be better along his community service or parole or whatever. Now, instead of calling him Dan which is much too similar to Danny and who names kids like that (looking at you Vlad), I think they would try to work with the other half of his name like how Danielle goes by Elly. Hence, the name Mirry (pronounced mee-ree).
With this challenge bypassed or however that should be worded, Danny would eventually be more comfortable with being called Dan, so now the three siblings have 3 different naming patterns. The full name starts with "dan" (Daniel, Danielle, Danimir), the name the go by is a shortened version of that full name than made up of a syllable then "double consanents--y" (Danny, Elly, Mirry), and a common nickname of that name but even shorter (Dan, Elle, Mirr).
this is a super sick naming system and I love it to bits. I now accept this as my new naming headcanons.
