Massive PSA to ALL artists who may be on Twitter, please protect yourself. I just wiped all my art off that shit site, so unfortunately a lot of NSFW art that could be viewed on there will not be available. Some is available on Slasher app, and a bit on Pixiv. I will try to post old lewd art on pixiv and any relevant lewds on Slasher app. I'm really thinking of looking into just getting my own website to display all works uncensored depending on the cost.
To give more context on what the XAi program will be doing here is a link to an article with interview answers from the Mustyness himself:
A quote from said article:
'He also claimed that xAI’s use of Twitter data would not be much different from what many are already using the platform for, adding that it would primarily be used for “text training” and “image and video training.”
“I guess we will use the public tweets — obviously not anything private* — for training as well, just like basically everyone else has,” Musk said.'
He will be using data from private accounts, what Elon means is likely data of birthdates and addresses.
I added ALT descriptions now to the image, I didn't have time before (I'm working on an overly detailed art piece right now), I hope that helps all with screen readers!

And while we're talking about ai theft: turn. off. grammarly. Disable it. Delete it. Get that shit off of your computer ASAP.
I never realized how much of my shit is scanned by grammarly until today. It scans my emails, my text posts on this bewitched platform, my wips on google docs, my youtube comments--literally everything ive ever typed on my laptop is scanned by grammarly. And I've been allowing this to happen for years.
Turn. Off. Grammarly.

Being seen in an AI social world
This post came to my attention today.
It’s difficult to put my feelings (and thoughts) into words right now. I know consent has been a difficult topic in the technology world for a while, and it’s no surprise the whole AI thing became so pervasive so quickly given the absurd investment these companies made in making it the trending topic of the decade and a toy accessible to anyone.
I have many questions, regarding the computational power dedicated to a tool that’s geared towards destroying creative work, a tool that fails so fundamentally in understanding the process of creating art yet claims to surpass it. I have questions regarding the energy and water costs of keeping the massive servers they certainly need, when scarcity is an ever present threat in a world that heats up more every year. I question all the dedication and investment when we have far more pressing issues of illness, hunger, inequality, and the list could go on.
I question why are we living in a world that’s incapable to control the greed and maliciousness of companies who exploit their users at every new development.
I don’t usually talk about myself a lot here, but I’m also a UX/UI designer, so I’m familiar with the process of Design Thinking, of creating a product based on the user needs…and features that hide themselves subtly to make the users fall into a trap is just hostile design. This is the world of hostile design. I don’t get respect as a user, as a creator, as a worker, as a citizen. If I did, my representatives would have the balls to stop all these policies and decisions from companies that want to leech me.
They want to chew my art, spit me out of the market and confine me to this horrible online experience.
I’m not sure what I should do at the moment. Maybe I’ll take all my art posts down from tumblr, maybe I’ll create a telegram channel later to post my art and talk to people. I have no idea which is the best route at the moment. I felt pressure to “put me out there and be seen” my whole life.
Interact with viewers.
create a fan base.
But it feels like no platform respects me enough right now, and I’m not willing to give up all of me. Opt-out is not enough.
Sorry for the long post.

Time for a new edition of my ongoing vendetta against Google fuckery!
Hey friends, did you know that Google is now using Google docs to train it's AI, whether you like it or not? (link goes to: zdnet.com, July 5, 2023). Oh and on Monday, Google updated it's privacy policy to say that it can train it's two AI (Bard and Cloud AI) on any data it scrapes from it's users, period. (link goes to: The Verge, 5 July 2023). Here is Digital Trends also mentioning this new policy change (link goes to: Digital Trends, 5 July 2023). There are a lot more, these are just the most succinct articles that might explain what's happening.
FURTHER REASONS GOOGLE AND GOOGLE CHROME SUCK TODAY:
Stop using Google Analytics, warns Sweden’s privacy watchdog, as it issues over $1M in fines (link goes to: TechCrunch, 3 July 2023) [TLDR: google got caught exporting european users' data to the US to be 'processed' by 'US government surveillance,' which is HELLA ILLEGAL. I'm not going into the Five Eyes, Fourteen Eyes, etc agreements, but you should read up on those to understand why the 'US government surveillance' people might ask Google to do this for countries that are not apart of the various Eyes agreements - and before anyone jumps in with "the US sucks!" YES but they are 100% not the only government buying foreign citizens' data, this is just the one the Swedes caught. Today.]
PwC Australia ties Google to tax leak scandal (link goes to: Reuters, 5 July 2023). [TLDR: a Russian accounting firm slipped Google "confidential information about the start date of a new tax law leaked from Australian government tax briefings." Gosh, why would Google want to spy on governments about tax laws? Can't think of any reason they would want to be able to clean house/change policy/update their user agreement to get around new restrictions before those restrictions or fines hit. Can you?
SO - here is a very detailed list of browsers, updated on 28 June, 2023 on slant.com, that are NOT based on Google Chrome (note: any browser that says 'Chromium-based' is just Google wearing a party mask. It means that Google AND that other party has access to all your data). This is an excellent list that shows pros and cons for each browser, including who the creator is and what kinds of policies they have (for example, one con for Pale Moon is that the creator doesn't like and thinks all websites should be hostile to Tor).

Attention to everyone!!!
Tumblr is apparently planning on selling scraped user data from blogs and sell them to dumb af A/I companies. You know the ones. And it’s opt-in by default.
I highly suggest going to your settings, on each individual blog you may have mind you, go down to Visibility, and click that 3rd option shown above!
The CEO was already being weird on Twitter, this is just another massive disappointment. Fuck Genai, fuck these companies trying to steal peoples work, and fuck Tumblr for agreeing join in.

death of art on social media?
it really does feel like there's no safe place for art on social media. Too many greedy corpos see artists and human data as free money to scrape and take. They wager that the website is free and their ads are not pulling in enough revenue to their liking, so why not sell the very data their users are creating daily? We are all just potential money bags to the companies whose site we use to connect and share our ideas, art and writing with. Our passion mean nothing to them. CEOs can't take paycuts. They can only fire staff lower than them and sell off their userbase's to be used, analyzed and emulated. Cut and pasted until it becomes less recognizable. Until every shred of worth is scraped out of the data.

Elon Musk has announced he will be using Twitter user generated content to feed data to its AI project and this includes videos, text, images, everything. And that includes of course the art (graphical or written) you posted there. Many artists are already announcing their departure from the plataform.
I'm glad I was ahead of the curve and deleted my account months ago!

A writer I follow on YT and who is not the sort of person to ignore nuance has made a 2 hour+ video about 'AI' art etc. after he spent several months deep diving into it all. He also has a degree in copyright law, so I'm about to watch and excited to learn what he found out!
Anyway, figured I'd share it here because we all need to learn more about how 'AI' generators actually work and affect real people.

The word most used by The Boys twitter account (@TheBoysTV) between June 1, 2019 and now was mate (used ca. 656 times).
Their most @-ed twitter accounts were (probably):
primevideo (333 times)
theboystv (i.e. itself, 291 times)
antonystarr (262 times)
karlurban (205 times)
threalkripke (149 times)
Homelander was mentioned 131 times. Some other terms worth mentioning that didn't make the top list on my jupyter without messing up the graphic:
diabolical (108 times)
fuck (103 times)
love (100 times)
lad (87 times)
Most of these numbers are probably slightly incorrect (can explain why if anyone is interested, but the difference should be marginal), the tokenizer probably, sadly eliminated 'Oi' (gotta work on that; the tokenizer has a bunch of issues), and I really gotta start making prettier graphics, BUT:
💖💖 Hi cozy corner, meet my new shitposting super power. 💖💖
💖💖 💖 I promise to only use it for good. 💖💖💖

Okay. So. After some thinking, I believe that while the Google Drive controversy (you might have seen the TikTok going around) is definitely part of a long, miserable crawl towards robot dystopia, I don't think Google Drive is ACTUALLY being scraped rn or in the immediate future.
Tumblr media
These are the most grown-up site discussing these issue and it's very fukced--but again, this is a controversy that has been boiling for a while, with AO3 and other sites possibly vulnerable to scraping. I'm looking for stuff that focuses on the docs.

Again, public. Still fucked, doesn't automatically mean Google Drive. You can see the current version of the EULA below.

Google has asked me to engage in Labs (AI) before, but I believe I successfully opted out.
I think my Google Drive is safe, although I could say less about the web. Of course, I could be a fucking idiot. Encouraging anyone with more clarifying information to opt in.
I have seen people talking about how Google Drive uses private information from powerful companies who will, hopefully, sue Google into oblivion if these concerns become a reality.

Please share your thoughts! With the rise of AI-related issues, I've seen a lot of authors making their work available only to registered AO3 users, and I've been contemplating doing it myself. I'm curious to see why people who use the site wouldn't sign up for an account.
