Mkay, so I just woke up & I feel like spitting some facts today while I’m still in my BATDR hyperfix, especially since I’m pretty sure not a lot of people have this idea as well & I wanna get it out there somehow.

So…

The Ink Demon is like… written SO fucking well in this game, or at least as I interpret it.

& I figured this shit out like GRADUALLY.

The first tid bit that hit me like a fucking truck was how CANONICALLY the Ink Demon is in DESPERATE need of any kind of love and affection. While it’s hinted at a little bit in the games, the smoking gun comes from the VOICE ACTOR FOR INKY HIMSELF Sean Crisden.

Yes, I looked through his entire Twitter to find this again just to prove I’m not insane.

Like… even if Sean isn’t caught up entirely on the lore, there’s no reason he would say this only knowing the Ink Demon through his lines. After all, my guy has to be told about the character to voice him, so for him to address this pretty much makes it as close to being confirmed officially as we can.

The second thing that hit me like a truck was the YouTuber Pastra’s review video on the game, where he details how the Ink Demon’s mocking in the last chapter is towards HIMSELF, not Audrey, & he’s just projecting all HIS shit onto her.

Not even I caught this, since I always thought Inky was right about the “your life is a lie” thing due to her not being fully human.

But then Pastra emphasized the “mistake” bit. Audrey wasn’t a mistake, far from it. The Ink Demon, BENDY, was. HE was a mistake, born solely to be a living mascot to entertain, & when he came out WRONG, he was locked away, neglected, abandoned by the man who created him.

So he looks at Audrey, someone who was made by the same man who made him, someone who was treated so much better because of how she came out “perfect”, & tries to bring her down on the same level as he is by berating her.

& while this is stretching a bit, him comforting her at the end feels a bit like he’s trying to comfort himself, tricking himself to believe there is SOMEONE like him, someone who was ABANDONED & lied to, & thus giving Audrey the opportunity to live so he can indulge in that comfort.

It’s a BIG stretch, but god DAMN is it a gut puncher!

Like I’m sure he also did it to manipulate her & shit, but like… he can have MORE than one reason to do shit, & if he really did try to comfort himself like that, if that really is true… then I’m gonna fucking sob, man.

BUT THAT IS NOT FUCKING ALL!!

Cause I got ONE MORE mind blower I had, mainly (but not entirely) on my own after that one!!

& it has to do with Baby Bendy.

A LOT of people think Inky got his mind split in two when he was imprisoned as Baby Bendy due to how different he acts around Audrey.

But I beg to differ.

I think the Ink Demon is ABSOLUTELY still conscious & in control as Baby Bendy. He just couldn’t do shit to anyone before Audrey came about & accidentally freed him (cause I am ALSO subscribed to that theory Pastra addressed in his video), so he just minded his own business.

Perhaps his new emotional responses spoken of in the Keepers’ tapes come from him being more powerless & vulnerable where the only thing he COULD do was cry.

& the reason he acts so friendly towards Audrey once she meets up with him near the city? Because she was kind to him, she actually gave a shit about him. She apologized to him about hurting him & wanted to take care of him.

NEVER in Inky’s life has he EVER had someone genuinely care about him & his well being, something he always wanted from ANYONE but never got. So when he finally has that opportunity with Audrey, he jumps to it, going along with it, even if he desperately didn’t want to visit the Gent labs again.

More evidence of this is detailed in a post by @jupiter-jellies titled “Ink Demon VS Vesty” which I really like (I apologize for the tag, I don’t know if there’s an easier option to showcase the post itself, but I still wanna credit you nonetheless) as it makes sense of the sequences of events that happen from when Baby Bendy first joins your party to when he disappears & the Ink Demon comes to stop you from entering the Keepers’ area. Seriously, that shit blew my mind when I read it cause it explains WHY Baby Bendy went missing & why the Ink Demon would try to stop Audrey from going THERE in particular.

It just makes sense that the Ink Demon was still HIMSELF in both forms, he just acts differently to compensate for his lack of powers & to be given the love & affection he always wanted.

… But then it gets sad.

Cause the more I thought about it, the more fucked up it became. The ONLY time the Ink Demon EVER got someone to reach out to him & make him feel cared for… is when he’s in a “perfect” form. Only when he was cute & innocent & TRAPPED against his WILL could he be EVER loved, that if only he came out RIGHT in the first place, then he would DESERVE all the love that Audrey offers him.

If Joey & the others neglecting & abusing him when he came out wrong when he was JUST created didn’t solidify this idea in his head, Audrey treating him like a friend in his “perfect” form & an enemy in his true form DEFINITELY sealed the deal to him.

& it only gets worse.

I was re-listening to Joey talking to Audrey at the tail-end of the game to try & snap her out of the dark mindset Inky put her in when I realized something.

The Ink Demon was RIGHT THERE, listening to his abuser talk directly to AUDREY the ENTIRE TIME, telling her how she was loved & how she’s not this monster, that she was his pride & joy, his ONLY success…

& that PISSES Inky off.

In INKY’s point of view, only after Joey had a creation that WASN’T an abomination did he suddenly have a change of heart, that all it took was to get something he always wanted to be a better person as he completely ignores his biggest mistake that was RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM.

That… has GOT to sting, really bad, to feel abandoned AGAIN in favor of the “better sibling” that Audrey was.

I have a feeling that he didn’t crush Joey SOLELY so he couldn’t get through to Audrey. I think he also did it because he couldn’t take LISTENING to him talk like this anymore, to be reminded that he was a failure that didn’t deserve the love that Audrey got, & lashed out to shut Joey up.

This is ALL very headcanon-y, but… it really does paint the Ink Demon in a more complex & tragic light.

The Ink Demon was NEVER just a mindless monster that killed whatever it wanted on sight. He was capable of emotion, & he could’ve potentially been capable of being something so much more if only he got the proper care & reassurance he DESPERATELY needed.

& GOD I love his character for it, he’s my favorite character in the game BY FAR because of this, GOD I hope this is canon so I can give massive props to the writers for this game!!

isn't it weird how if you get up at 7 or 8, do your work all day, then have free time and go to bed at 11 that's absolutely fine

but if i said i get up at 10, do fun stuff in the morning then work in the evening and go to bed late, i could be called lazy, nevermind that i'm getting just as much or MORE work done as i would in a traditional work day

#ramble #idk if this is a me problem or not #i've tried to do the early rise early bed thing again and again and it just does not work for me doing freelance right now #maybe it's bc i used to work at a bar so i'm more comfortable being active in the evening #i love working at night because there's less going on to distract me #what used to happen is i would get up early then fight executive dysfunction all day saying i couldn't do fun stuff until i did my work #then my will to work would hit at 10pm and i'd be up till 2am anyway #right now my routine is waking up later and playing a game or knitting for an hour or so and then working in the afternoon and evening #something something capitalism and 9-5 and adhd don't go together #this sounds like i'm just making excuses but it works and i'm actually getting shit done and sleeping enough so i don't see the problem #i just figured i'm probably going to sit and do nothing for a few hours in the morning anyway so i might as well give myself permission to

I went and stood in front of a judge who said congratulations and got my name changed. Now I have to wait two weeks for my social security appointment before I can change my ID or passport, but I did the first step!

I think we should just bring back Wungo Wednesday and start a fandom collective anime rewatch

#Because otherwise I can feel I won't last much longer #Because like. The last two hyperfixations of mine ended the moment I started feeling like there wasn't any new content #And two days ago in one day I started a new manga a new book and rewatching a favourite show #Whereas I hadn't started anything new in the two years ever since I got into bsd. Which makes it NOT a good sign #But the bsd anime has now ended for one month and 25 days and that's the last time the plot actually moved forward.#And if I counted right. The manga took 4 chapters (that is chapters 110-111) to adapt 6 minutes #That means it's going to take another 12 months (18 minutes left to adapt. that's 12 more chapters) to catch up with the anime #Yeah I'm not. sticking around this long with nothing new to see I'm sorry #Best case scenario I take a one year hiatus but that doesn't make it sound likely that I'll be back #And I know it's fresh news as early as this morning that author said they were introducing a new character but like.#They also said they finished writing this arc like. One year and half ago if I remember correctly?#And we still have yet to see the end of i t so...#That is to say. I'll probably be starting an anime rewatch starting next Wednesday. I've been meaning to do it for a while anyway #I don't want to leave the fandom I like the one chapter a month format #On the positive news I still have a queue of original posts that spans over ten months #And I was meaning to start the reblogs queue too in these days. I cannot shake my thoughts about this and I’ll know I’ll keep this drama close to my heart. The fact that Myung ha’s ‘sunbae’ opened the riff to the world with the question “would you change it for me?” Also the fact that Myung ha’s alternate universe/game world started with the sound of an ocean tells already a lot about it but we won’t know until Episode 8 why. Throughout the series we watched Myung ha doing everything in his power to make Yeo woon happy while he himself couldn’t rely, couldn’t trust, couldn’t open himself up to him. We know the phrase of his ex gf “you don’t know how to love anyone.” left a deep scar in his soul which he carried with to the alternate universe/game. I try to think the system errors which occurred during the game was a way to change Myung ha’s mindset to not make the same mistakes and/or go on with his habitual habits he did in his life before he drowned himself. Also the different tasks was it actually for Myung ha to realize that he’s the one who makes Yeo-woon happy (which he didn’t). He retreated himself from Yeo woon because he couldn’t choose between the most important persons in his life as we saw his grandma died in real life which makes me think if he also knew that because in one sequence in the game/au it asked him if he wants to bring back some memories of Myung ha’s life. Also the last I love you from Yeo woon was the cherry on top to let the system completely crash where he distanced himself from Yeo woon. “I want to spend my remaining time making Yeo woon happy as best as I can. But it seems the more I try, the more unhappy I make Yeo-woon.” Which Myung ha remembers what Yeo-woon said: “whenever I see you, I both feel good and want to cry. I feel so much about every little thing. But I’m not happy at all right now.” Which again I try to think it is about why Myung ha doesn’t rely more on him? Why he doesn’t open himself up to him? A relationship is based off of trust, give and take… etc. but Myung ha goes into this relationship with deep rooted traumas which causes lack of self love. If one loves not itself enough how can they expect to love someone else which what explains Myung ha’s last phrase in the same scene so much. “Why did I think I could make you happy?” It’s as if he doesn’t think that a loner like him could be the one to give him love and happiness. What follows after is that he choses Yeo woon’s happiness even if he’s not his happiness… which again brings me to the beginning where Myung ha thinks “but I prefer lonely supporting characters to happy protagonists.” In this case he’s the lonely supporting character to our happy protagonist Yeo-woon. “But being fated to live that kind of life… is just so unfair.” He knew/knows how cruel life can be so he chose his happiness over everything and got vanished from the game. He realized by now that Yeo-woon is/was more important than he wanted to admit. Yeo-woon is/was a glimpse of happiness in Myung ha’s life. What brings us to the tragic backstory of his life and how he lived. All the obstacles he endured and went through led to his drowning (at this point we saw Yeo-woon’s obstacles in the alternate universe/game at least in my opinion). This is the turning point for Myung ha. “I was hoping if you saw yourself from someone else’s perspective, you would learnt to love yourself. I thought if you learned to love someone, you would be a little happier.” I want to make a reference here to the title itself “Love for Love’s sake” because all the sacrifices he did and cared more for others than himself… but he found happiness. In Yeo-woon. And he chose his own happiness for once. It’s the way he chooses all these things for himself, to open himself up for him, to rely and be cared for. “It would be nice to have someone. Someone who cares by my side. Someone who gives me chances when I fail and feel hopeless. It would be nice to have someone who always gives me love.” Which they found both in each other.

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS AN OUTDATED VERSION OF THE DOAI CD AU. I WILL GET TO WRITING UP THE NEW ONE EVENTUALLY ONCE I HAVE ILLUSTRATED SOME NEW DETAILS & SUCH.

So…

I made a new AU.

Simply calling this the DOAI CD AU cause that’s how a lot of my AUs are.

So here’s the rundown of the AU I have so far.

Story-wise, Winfrey gets captured by Dr. Lankmann & is used for his asylum. Clyde eventually finds where its partner is, but hesitates to simply charge in & find them with all the security precautions that have clearly been put in place for the lil guy. Ultimately, Clyde decides to do a lil sneaky & surrender itself, knowing it’ll be kept alive for testing purposes.

Once its inside, it finds the perfect time to break out of its confinements to go find Winfrey.

Without spoiling too much since I wanna actually WRITE OUT what happens, all I will tell you all is that Clyde finds Winfrey & escapes with the big guy. With Clyde keeping them on track & pushing them forward to ensure both of their escape, Winfrey doesn’t consume too many people after the incident, pretty much only killing any security that got in their way. Dr. Lankmann is also kept alive, which will quickly become a problem for the both of them once they escape.

After fleeing the asylum, both Veldigun later discover that their existence is becoming increasingly known across the country, thus forcing them to flee from place to place to avoid capture &/or potential death (because even if they COULDN’T die via bullets, neither of them would want the other to take that chance). They find themselves traveling all across the country in a seemingly endless chase from the authorities. Despite this potentially being their new life now, they are simply glad to have each other throughout it.

Additionally, because Winfrey was (mostly) unaffected after escaping the asylum, there was no need for their clothing to be stitched to them directly. Instead, Clyde decides to make Winfrey something a lot more comfortable to wear that can easily be taken off, just like its own orange onesie. This is why Winfrey’s outfit looks so different in the image from earlier.

AH!

As for how these fuckin goobers are written, it goes a lil something like this…

Clyde: Despite the circumstances, Clyde is often quite chirpy & is often the one seen with a smile on its face. It is constantly moving in place, rarely ever standing still. It also tends to find fascination in certain small things, often trinkets & other human junk. It came across the LEGENDARY Captain Quackers during one of its scavenges for said trinkets, & is by far the most prized piece of man-made items it has ever collected.

Despite how adorably silly this version of Clyde is, it is STILL scarily clever. It can quickly formulate a plan & execute it almost flawlessly, sometimes even using some of its various trinkets as a part of said plan (such as a distraction). While it usually id not all that afraid of direct confrontation, under dire circumstances, it will remain in the shadows & carefully think through its actions.

Winfrey: Even when the two are completely safe, Winfrey cannot help but feel concerned, perhaps even a bit paranoid. Everything they do for the both of them, Winfrey does it with care & caution. They used to be so fascinated with the creativity of humans, but after the Asylum incident, all they care about is keeping themselves & Clyde (mostly Clyde) safe. Although, this does not stop them from occasionally indulging themselves by singing a tune every now and again or even playing a little song if Clyde ever finds them an instrument (mainly the violin, of course).

While they are usually quite cautious with their actions, they WILL resort to rampaging their way through a problem if the situation is dire enough. They certainly have the strength to do so at any time, but they will most of the time second guess such a method if it could result in putting themselves or Clyde in unnecessary danger. However, if Clyde is already in danger, that second-guessing goes completely out the window. If it ever came down to the two of them, they would want Clyde to be safe over themselves (& vice versa, which often leads to a few points of conflict).

Before the asylum incident, Winfrey was a LOT more upbeat & playful while Clyde was just a little bit more serious & focused. While Clyde is content being far more energetic & easy going than it used to be, it feels guilty for Winfrey losing a lot of their bouncy personality from the good ol’ days & will repeatedly try to get Winfrey to let themselves enjoy life again. While Winfrey just wants to keep Clyde safe, all Clyde wants is to help Winfrey heal from the ten years of torment that scarred them. However, Clyde has no idea JUST how much that decade has affected Winfrey & how tough it will be for them to feel fully comfortable again…

The other Veldigun ALSO are characterized differently, but I have not fleshed them out all that much yet. Regardless, here is what I have so far.

Klaus: All he cares about is seeing others suffer, not because he feels wronged in any way, but because it genuinely feels euphoric to him. Rarely will he ever eat his victims & only does so when he starts showing signs of starvation. His cruel demeanor also extends to his relationship with his supposed partner Jack, who he often abuses if things do not go his way or if Jack even slightly gets on his nerves. Despite Jack being essential to Klaus, he does not care about his Jack-in-the-box partner in the slightest. If anything, Jack’s death would simply be an annoyance to him.

Jack: Everything is just so damn funny to them, but not in a sadistic way like their partner is. They genuinely cannot help but laugh whenever something even POTENTIALLY humorous occurs, much to Klaus’ displeasure. Despite how their partner treats them, Jack is happy to be used as a living murder weapon. They feel content with their only purpose being to help Klaus. They are well aware of how poorly they are being treated but feels that abandoning Klaus will leave Jack without a purpose, & is too fearful of that reality to take that chance. In other words, they just laugh off the idea.

Both Klaus & Jack have been traveling across the country even before what happened at the Lankmann asylum, but the Veldiguns’ revealed existence has only made it harder for Klaus & Jack to stick around too long. Klaus absolutely blames Clyde & Winfrey for this, & would not be shy of giving them a piece of his mind if they ever crossed paths.

Simon & the Flock: Both live at an abandoned farm somewhere in the country, feeding purely off of the wildlife that would be found there. This is due to Simon having consumed the people that once resided at this residence, gaining empathy for humans & swearing off of ever consuming another human mind ever again. The Flock follows this vow, not because Simon asked it to, but because it understands. Both Veldigun can vividly understand each other without ever uttering a single phrase or gesture. Simon can rarely ever be heard speaking because of this. The two do not bother with the other Veldigun or escaping the authorities. Whatever happens, they will remain pacifistic toward human life & show kindness to others, even to their own detriment.

As for Lankmann…

Well, you’ll just have to wait & see for yourself, won’t you? ;)

after the crimeboys stream I went out to go to a local independent bookstore in the hopes they had a day of fallen night (prequel to priory of the orange tree) but I ended up having to park way further away than I wanted to. however this ended up being a great thing bc I was parked near a vintage flea market and long story short did I spend way more money than I meant to today? yes. but I also now have a sweater, a crochet vest, and I did end up getting a copy of a day of fallen night on top of that so I truly won

with the confirmation of my suspicion that jaiden gave basically no input to the admins on what direction to take her characters place in the story can i just say that im fascinated. I think when i found out the way qsmp is run, admins running the main plot and important npcs leaving the players in the dark in character and out, this is kind of the natural end point of how far i thought they could take it. everything jaiden goes through she experiences genuinely and has the freedom to make her character figure out everything naturally.

((though i kind of disagree with jaiden wording how she saw it, which was that the admins can decide the direction her character takes. i think the manner she roleplays and makes decisions is equally as important as any backstory the admins invent for her and situations the admins decide to put her in, yknow. i have to assume the admins are taking into account how jaiden is choosing how her character is behaving and not railroading her into anything or i will go crazy. signed by girl.

Ouch, that thing you just reblogged really got me in the feels. I've never noticed it myself until now it's been pointed out... poor Reesh just wants a long hug but people always let go too early 🥲

I kind of sensed it here and there, that people seemed to be a tad overwhelmed with the longitude or intensity of his hugs. It became quite obvious to me as I paid closer attention to these encounters, that people were either surprised a bit or kind of drew away first from the hug. Some examples with Paul:

I don't want to interpret too much into it, but I think it's safe to say that Richard is very, very tactile person and as I mentioned last week in this ask, he sometimes seems to crave physical touch as a proof of affection from others. He's also a person who goes all in on the hugs, like he gives his all, he really flings his arms around the neck of the opposite person and squeezes them and really kind of... cuddles them? (in german we say "knuddeln" 😅).

A recent example is the birthday celebration on stage, it shows his level of affection very good, hugging everyone very tight, especially the Schneider hug shows how much emotion he puts in and Schneider is like *pat pat it's alright baby*:

Richard always seems to be the one who's enjoying the physical contact the most/more than others... That does not mean that others don't want to hug him, definitely not, but that other people just have a different understanding of... well, how long or tight to hug someone. That's why I'm so unreasonably happy when I see the others being cuddly and tactile with him, because it's easy to see that he's enjoying it a lot 🥰

Not going into why this is the case with Richard (could be his childhood experiences or his general character, as a child he apparently was quite affable to everyone around him) because that would go too deep with no real base of information to it. For now, let's just say he's definitely the cuddly teddy bear of the group who needs to be squeezed a lot 💕

sometimes i wish my english was better yk? like, it should be better, right? i’ve been studying it for over 10 years now, i have a degree and i’ll graduate again in a few months so it should be better. yk especially when i’m writing i feel like my writing it’s missing something, like a spark. each word i use feels… boring, like it’s been used thousands of times and everything feels just plain. i wish i knew more synonyms or more verbs or more collocations and stuff. more idioms, more phrasal verbs. and sometimes i just tell myself that it’s okay, that english is not my native language and it’s okay i’m still learning and getting better but it’s frustrating when i want to write something specific and like i can’t find the words.

i feel like every sentence i write nowadays it’s just boring.
