Honestly Shay, Frankie and Lola just weren't a good friend group.

Lola and Shay were really dismissive about Frankie's sadness. She felt like she had no one to go to especially after she got excluded from power squad (which they both contributed to) and they couldn't see how it affected the way she needed constant validation from Jonah.

Frankie and Shay threw Lola under the bus when they both got coupled up, not really caring about how the break up with Tiny hurt her and her fear about pregnancy.

Lola and Frankie were both antiblack towards Shay. Frankie couldn't acknowledge how the gorilla drawing was racist but how it affected Shay specifically. Lola made that weird 'no offense' comment when chatting shit bout Northern Tech and was so backhanded when Tiny showed interest in her.

They each have interesting storylines when they're separate but yh how the writers branded them as besties is wild honestly...

-More Yael and Lola friendship

the worst characters that ever happened 2 degrassi were katie n marisol. also i thot it was so funny when anya randomly decided 2 join the army. and there was a Brief scene where her mom was like, "noo army Bad" but then. she changed for no reason n was Proud of her. such A Show it's so stupid i love it more than anything

I just got to the ep katie was introduced in but I honestly barely remember wtf she and marisol even did on the show I think she was addicted to pain killers or some shit like that gen is so forgettable and boring to me I literally forgot anya joined the army LMAO her doctor storyline was also horrific the writers really were just doing the randomest shit those 2 seasons 😭😭

Favorite and least favorite seasons from a purely Zaya perspective?! DNG and NC included - all Degrassi seasons in which Zig and Maya re present are eligible for this very important honor :)

1.) Season 14 (Obviously. It's Zaya at their purest. It was incredibly satisfying seeing them become a couple after years of back and forth and many almosts)

2.) Next Class season 4 (While season 14 was Zaya at their purest, season 4 was Zaya at their strongest. I genuinely think that all they went through both separately and together allowed and will allow them to have a very solid foundation for their second, permanent relationship. There are so many good moments)

3.) Next Class season 1 (As frustrating as this season is and even though I struggle with Zig's characterization during part of it, overall I just love seeing them as a normal couple. The stakes were so high during season 14, but now they're just allowed to hang out and have relationship challenges. Like I said, I didn't love all of it. But it's another season where I really enjoyed the smaller moments. Plus, #YesMeansYes)

4.) Season 12 (It's the season that cemented Zaya as an OTP for me. I loved watching their friendship develop and obviously, the reversal where Zig was now the one pining instead of Maya. I know Zaya isn't for everyone and that they're a throwaway relationship for a lot of fans, but I can't imagine watching them holding hands by the Panther wall and feeling nothing. It was so sweet and genuine and full of potential)

5.) Season 13 (I hate half of this season and there's way too much love triangle bullshit. But there's also a lot of passion and things that aren't being said. Especially on Maya's end. The writers played with my heart many times during the last two blocks, but everything left Zig and Maya's friendship in a solid place. I love that after everything, they were truly happy to be back together again if only in a "platonic" (ha) way)

6.) Next Class season 3 (Zaya didn't get a lot this season, but what they did get really stood out. The tickling scene alone places this miles ahead of season 2. I'm obsessed with it. The subtext is very clear. Zig and Maya are still in love and kind of on the outskirts of each other's lives, clearly wanting to have some sort of relationship even as friends. But their breakup was so messy. A lot of trust was broken. They don't know where the other stands. It's honestly depressing, but then Maya's suicide attempt changes everything)

7.) Next Class season 2 (It wasn't entirely bad, but I feel like more needed to be done with Zig in the aftermath of losing Maya due to his own actions. It felt very half assed. The literal second we started to get some layers peeled back with his rant about not being good at anything, he was seriously thrown into an awkward love square with Grace, Esme and Maya that only Grace was aware of)

8.) Season 11 (They met, and it was cute. Zig barely had a personality back then)

Saw a comparison between Zig x Maya to Emma x Sean and no. Just no. Sean messed up, but he always tried to make things better and grow from his mistakes. He always put Emma first even when they broke up. Zig on the other hand was hovering over every one of Maya relationships and couldn't accept her being happy with anyone but him. Sean warned Emma about Peter's manipulative antics because he had a track record of hurting people including her best friend. Zig called Maya sloppy seconds. Lets notttt

I'll talk about some of the other shows and movies that I like to watch and music I listen to.

I know I focus a lot on the Transformers fandom and Attack on Titan, but obviously they are not the only shows I watch.

Sometimes I'll watch mindless humor like American Dad, Family Guy, and Ridiculousness. Because when you're doing full time work and full time school, sometimes it's just better to turn your brain off after grueling hours of work.

Shows that I love to watch are Craig of the Creek, The Amazing World of Gumball, Bluey, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, ROTTMNT, B99, Arcane, Lego Monkie Kid, ATLA. I'm certain that I'm missing some, but that's what's usually on my radar.

Movies I like: Snowpiercer, Everything, Everywhere, All At Once, Black Panther 1 and 2, Coraline, The Woman King, Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, that Santa Claus movie where Santa just beats the shit out of everyone, Jordan Peele Movies like Us and Nope.

I've also watched a lot of anime in my years since 2009. Sonic X was how I got into it and the list just kept growing. I watched and read every anime/manga I could get my hands on. I don't do it at the same frequency that I do now, and as you get older, you realize how problematic anime is Lol. So, I've watched Sonic X, Dragon Ball Z and Hellsing Ultimate (Both original and abridged: Go TeamFourStar), Xenoglossa, High School of the Dead (Too much fan service but interesting take on the zombie genre), Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, +Anima (I did some drawings for that when I was on Deviantart and I still have them), Something about a Dark Angel that steals a bunch of art work, Tokyo Mew Mew (with some toxic ass love interests), There was a manga about a train, Aventura (Never continued, disappointed), Spy X Family, Clock Striker, Full Metal Alchemist (Kind of. Never watched it in full but I've come across the major plot points), Naruto (simply because my cousins were into it. The Kayuga plot line was bullshit), started Bleach (Never really got past the Aizen reveal), A lot of knock out mecha anime shows ironically excluding Guren Lagan, My Hero Academia I only keep track of because I like the Todoroki family drama, Future Diary (Toxic as hell), Akame ga Kill (Kind of like Attack on Titan: everyone is a red shirt), Maid-Dragon Kobayashi (used to like it, looking back hate the wizard kid and the dragon and whatever the fuck is going on with the red hair dragon and the big tits), King of Thorn, the Pokemon Movies only, and I'm blanking on the rest since a lot of them were obscure manga I found at my local library. I'm surprised I remembered this much.

Games I play: Pokemon Go and Sky Children of the Light (If you want to play with me, PM me.

Music I listen to: Imagine Dragons, Les Friction, Hadestown, Cody Fry, Tobe Nwigwe, Soundtrack Music like Samuel Kim (ADHD brain. It scratches an itch), AJR, the rest is kind of obscure. It might be an album of collaborating artist for a movie, like the Lion King: the Gift or the Arcane Album.

Shows I don't like/won't watch: Reality TV like the Bachelor, cheesy long-winded high school romance dramas that clear do the whole back stabbing/will they won't they. My sister watched it a lot and I always hated how it dragged on. Degrassi was way too much. One Piece is too long. I'll sometimes check in the fandom to see what's going on. Last time I check, Amalee was the Uta chick. Game of Thrones. Not a fan of the back stabbing and *nc*st. The Walking Dead seems like a show that just dragged on for too long.

I am certain I'm blanking on some shit right now but that's all I have to say.

rewatching s13-14 of degrassi with my sister has made me rethink my opinions on some characters... i like grace a lot more now, i think i didnt care for her before bc i hate tv show depictions of 'computer hackers' but i appreciate her way more, same w the rubber room group. i have a newfound appreciation for becky bc shes my sisters current fave and i think sarah fisher is extremely cute, i dont hate frankie or tristan as much anymore and i think im even coming around a bit on zig which are words i never thought i would ever say.

on the flipside though i somehow hate drew and jonah way more than i used to
