We’re advertising a book for readers of dark fantasy: The Hunting Moon—the highly anticipated sequel to the New York Times bestseller, The Luminaries—by Susan Dennard.
WHAT IT’S ABOUT
Winnie Wednesday has gotten everything she thought she wanted. She passed the deadly hunter trials, her family has been welcomed back into the Luminaries, and overnight, she has become a local celebrity.
The Girl Who Jumped. The Girl Who Got Bitten.
Unfortunately, it all feels wrong. For one, nobody will believe her about the new nightmare called the Whisperer that's killing hunters each night. Everyone blames the werewolf, even though Winnie is certain the wolf is innocent.
On top of that, following her dad's convoluted clues about the Dianas, their magic, and what happened in Hemlock Falls four years ago is leaving her with more questions than answers.
Then to complicate it all, there is still only one person who can help her: Jay Friday, the boy with plenty of problems all his own.
As bodies and secrets pile up around town, Winnie finds herself questioning what it means to be a true Wednesday and a true Luminary—and also where her fierce-hearted loyalties might ultimately have to lie.

It's been a while, friends! Lots of things happened this past spring and summer, and social media took a back seat. I got super behind in my reviewing, and felt so overwhelmed that I just shut down. However, one of the highlights of my summer was meeting @stdennard at ALA Annual. I got to know her books thanks in huge part to @thenerdaily and I feel so lucky now because I have this beauty in my hands. I cannot wait to hop back into this world, and it's amazing to see this book go from a Twitter thread to a fully fleshed world. #booksofinstagram #booksbooksbooks #bookgram #booksofig #ilovereading #bookphotography #theluminaries #dennerds booklove #igreads #fallreading #spookyseason https://www.instagram.com/p/Cjl-ZElrJMq/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Hello! I was looking at the Witchlands website, and when I was looking at the extras page, I realized that when I pressed "read" on sections like "Guide to Magic" or "Guide to Empires," it didn't seem to load. It was just a pop up with the title "Guide to ___" and a white box below it. Is my computer just not loading it for whatever reason? If that's the case, is there somewhere else I can look to find the information there?
Hey! We are working on fixing this. Sorry about that, but thanks for letting me know.
As for getting the info elsewhere...those docs were sorta out of date anyway. Ha! I wrote them before I even finished drafting Truthwitch.
THAT SAID! If you want extra content like that for the Witchlands world, you can join the Witchlanders when I reopen it for new members later this fall! :D

What are your favorite spooky reads?
How is it already the last week of October!? I can’t believe it! For today’s #SignedBookSundays, @bookcrushin and @diamondxgirl are talking spooky and scary books! I am not really into spooky stuff, so instead I’m sharing the SOMETHING STRANGE AND DEADLY series today which is still definitely perfect for this season.

#Witchlanders: you have officially been renamed the #DenNERDS. Don't worry, you're still a Witchlander too. But using DenNerds allows Misfits (fans of my first series) to hop in on the fun -- and future fans of future Dennard adventures.😉

Top ten book recs from what you read!
One, I didn't expect questions, but I'm so happy to have one!! This one is really tough. I read a lot of great books. Here are some highlights in the order I saw them in my Goodreads, not a ranking.
Author: Francesca Zappia, 2 books: Eliza and Her Monsters (think Fangirl but higher stakes and high school), and Made You Up (schizophrenia).
Author: Brandon Sanderson, 3 books: The Way of Kings, Words of Radiance, and Oathbringer - a high fantasy series with soany great characters and deep world building.
New releases: Wicked King by Holly Black, Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Steifvater, and The Storm Crow by Kayln Josephen.
Random reads I picked up without any research: Beartown by Fredrick Bachman, When I reach You, Open Season by C.J.Box, Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Continuations I didn't expect: Rebel by Marie Lu, Kate and Jesse by Erin Bowman.
Best SciFi: Contagion by Erin Bowman (because so much yes!)
Great debut: The Good Luck Girls by Charlotte Nicole Davis
Backlist gold: These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Megan Spooner, Dragon Teeth by Michael Crichton, Shadowshaper by Daniel Jose Older, Red Rosing by Pierce Brown, The Raven Cycle by Maggie Steifvater, Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir, one of us is Lying, Truly Devious, and Paper Magicians.
Oh, and honerable mention to Bloodwitch by Susan Dennerd which released in 2019 but I read in 2018!
I think you get the picture... I can't choose just 10! 🤣😂🤣
