You owe it to yourself to go to Youtube and watch Digi-Destiny.

It's a homebrew Digimon RPG done by the Schmuck Squad on the Abridged Alliance channel. As of writing this, there are 19 sessions, a One shot, and a small number of "Deep Dives" to discuss the lore of the game.

It's very well done, funny, heartfelt and takes full advantage of having the humans and Digimon played by different people, allowing for the players to discuss plans and come up with wacky ideas.

Our "Heroes"

Eric "E.R." Ryder: Good natured, if accident prone, skateboarder. Once got hit by a bus. Partnered with a slightly dim Monodramon

Grayson "The Wizard" Mcknight: The resident smart guy, a bit shy and has a problem saying no. Partnered with a slightly kleptomaniac Terriermon

Ryan "Riot" Scarlet: Team Gadgeteer and mechanic. Very creative, but very reckless. Partnered with Flamemon, who would really like it if Riot didn't throw himself into fights head first.

Gary Pasternack: Overworked, over tired office worker. Seems very close to a nervous breakdown at any time. Has a van that has been on it's last legs for years. Partnered with Magimon, (a fan creation designed to be a rookie form for both Wizardmon and Witchmon), a particularly creative indiviual with the ability to pull almost anything they need from their hat.

Reiner Takeshi: A Chef who wants to run his own business. very worried about his little sister. Takes no shit from his partner Digimon, Impmon

Looks like a cinnamon roll, could actually kill you — Kamiya "Tai" Taichi, coz he's an adorable goofball who (usually) doesn't hesitate to jump into danger to save his friends & has no problem killing anyone threatening them (especially if Kari is the friend whose life is under threat since she's his biological fullsister); Takenouchi Sora, coz when she was age 11-12 it was damned clear in canon that she could easily assassinate people if she wanted to & everyone are lucky that she's genuinely nice; Gomamon, coz he's an adorable goofball who nevertheless can (with his friends' help) kill a Champion Level Digimon as a Rookie; Patamon, coz he's 1 of the most adorable Rookie Level Digimon ever yet also a major powerhouse upon digivolving; Ichijouji Ken, coz he literally tried to murder a fellow human when he was the Digimon Kaiser/Digimon Emperor and even after becoming a good person he had no problem with sending a majorly evil Digimon (who was being basically a terrorist) into the Dark Ocean yet he's still a genuinely nice kid; Inoue Miyako, coz she's a nerdy & genuinely nice kid yet doesn't hesitate to smack an Ultimate Level Digimon with a skateboard and (despite initially hesitating) is willing to do whatever it takes to get rid of enemies who've proven they're willing to slaughter innocent people.

Looks like they could kill you, is a cinnamon roll — Gabumon, coz his teeth and horn make him seem the scariest of the 8 original Digimon partners yet he's also the gentlest of them all; Izumi "Izzy" Kōshirō, coz anyone aware of Izzy's badass computer skills would be scared of him (I certainly was as a kid & still am as an adult despite my immense respect for his skills in both childhood & adulthood), but Izzy actually is a good kid; Kido Joe, coz he's the oldest DigiDestined and literally throws himself on Digimon in attempts to protect his friends, so you'd think he's some badass combatant yet actually Joe is the team's medic & a very responsible person; Takaishi "Keru" Takeru, coz he doesn't hesitate to punch the face of anyone intentionally messing with Darkness & sometimes is abrasive when he talks to people (even when they're his loved ones), so (similarly to Joe) it's easy to assume he's a violent person 'til you get to see his soft side; Wormmon, coz he's an insect Digimon that looks far more scary than cute yet he's as gentle as Gabumon; Hawkmon, coz he looks like a typical bird of prey yet in personality is more of a polite & caring older brother instead of a carnivore; Armadimon/Armadillomon, coz he is an armadillo dinosaur who looks scary yet in personality is simply a goofball.

Looks like they could kill you, could actually kill you — Ishida "Mat" Yamato, coz this DigiDestined by far scares me the most (except Ken was scarier during his time as the Digimon Kaiser/Digimon Emperor) due to his explicit willingness to kill his enemies & ('til he grew as a person) attack his friends making his aloofness feel more threatening than make him seem unapproachable; Tentomon, coz he's a giant bug whose digivolved forms are even bigger & scarier bugs and he once destroyed an entire pocket dimension as AtlerKabuterimon/MegaKabuterimon; Palmon, coz she's a plant lizard with poison attacks; Tailmon/Gatomon, coz she's introduced punching the snot out of 6 fellow Champion Digimon much bigger than her & the 2 being each other's fated adventuring platonic partners is the only reason she didn't murder Kari; Lopmon & Terriermon, coz the twins' horns mitigate their adorable appearance into seeming less approachable plus Lopmon spends most of his screentime as Wendimon plus Terriermon gains gun arms whenever she digivolves into her Champion form; Veemon, coz. he's a junvenile wingless dragon who'll headbutt the snot out of you before digivolving into 1 of his bigger forms which have very sharp claws & teeth.

1. MAN. OH MAN. WELL. that definitely depends on what you mean by first OC ever. bc like. back in Kindergarten I loved Lisa Frank and I gave all the specific animals their own names and personalities. I had these coloring books and I always colored that specific animal with its own specific color scheme, some of which were the super colorful Lisa Frank colors but some where normal colors, and there was a whole story I made up around that. I don't remember any of their names or stories anything, but I do remember getting VERY upset when my mom made me share my coloring book with a cousin during a wedding, and they colored a cat that was supposed to be mundane colors blue instead.

the first named character I can remember was literally just called Rainbow Bird, I think I was in 2nd grade maybe?? I was really into birds and also Digimon, so I had this story about a digital world where people take on bird personas and do birdy things. but there was one named Rainbow Bird who only existed in the digital world, and it was his job to wake up every morning, fly across this waterfall, creating a rainbow with his long, colorful tail feathers, and that "opened up" the world for the day. one day he got tired of having to fly back across the waterfall at the end of the night to send all his friends home, so the government started chasing him and the bird friends that we're helping him ???? lmfao I used to run around the playground flapping my arms and pretending to be him, and there was this certain section I HAD to jump across to signify the end of recess.

the first OCs I ever rp'd were based on these barbie dolls and they lived in the Yugioh universe in Domino City. (to this day I still think that one in the green is hot as fuck and I would still wear the pink one's entire outfit) I made custom ace cards for them and everything. they were such awful Mary Sues, I'm pretty sure one of them had beef with Kaiba for some reason, and they were very short lived. that was back on the neopets forums

aaaaaand the first OCs I played here on tumblr were named Jupiter and Elara. I think they were space pirates ????? it was something with aliens, but I don't remember much from it at all tbfh. Elara had a skateboard? it was very vaguely Steven Universe inspired. that is where my Alias came from tho

Heyyyyy mod Gabu!! Could I get a male cutemon with a reckless tamer? Constantly doing stunts that results in cutemon yelling to be more careful whilst healing his tamers wounds? Thank you!

A Reckless Tamer with a male Cutemon

Cutemon could tell, the second that he met his Tamer, that this one was going to be a handful. And while at first he was pretty happy to help out his Tamer any time they got a pretty bad wound from something they did, it steadily grew into Cutemon getting. Well, a bit annoyed by his Tamer!

It makes it worse when his Tamer actively does things that gets them hurt! Skateboarding, parkour, whatever it is they're doing it and every time Cutemon is practically hovering just waiting for when his Tamer crashes or hits something and falls and hurts themself.

He's grown used to it at this point, but he still yells at his Tamer about it -- to be more careful, to wear more protective gear, whatever the case. Every scolding is different depending on what they're doing and being reckless about. Maybe his Tamer wouldn't be so hurt if they kept their eyes forward and didn't try to do something they saw online!

Cutemon still heals them, and they still continue to do reckless things. It's just their relationship on how it works -- his Tamer hurts themself and he heals them, then his Tamer is right back at it after nodding and yeah-ing about being more careful then hurts themself ALL OVER AGAIN. It gets a bit tiring for the little pink Digimon... but he keeps healing his Tamer because he hates seeing them hurt.

Cutemon promised to protect his Tamer from danger, but he didn't expect the danger to be them most the time! With how much they get hurt with trying ticks but getting back up just to do it again, Cutemon wonders how this human manage to even live this long if this is a regular thing for them.

But either way.... That's his human. He's going to keep healing them, even if he is annoyed and keeps trying to get his Tamer to knock it off but they just don't listen! He doesn't know why he bothers.... but yes he does, he knows exactly why he bothers. He just hates seeing them in pain, so he can't help it.

Question 13: What is your favorite digivice (classic, d-arc, d-tector, etc)

Hands-down, the Digivice/SmartPhone combo from Kizuna. Even before Kizuna came out, I often fantasized about myself having a Digivice built into my phone, and there could be apps on my phone that would correspond to the different functions on the Digivice? Like here's the app for opening up the portal to the digital world, here's the digital world equivalent of Google Maps, here's another for scanning the QR code on a Digimon card for some card slashing, and here's an app for a DigiDex, like it just makes sense? Plus these days, everything is already on our phone already, so why not a Digivice too :P

Question 24: Would you rather Biomerge with your partner or have it Warp-Digivolve?

Okay I just finished rewatching Tamers so this is fresh on my mind. Funny story, while creating the gifs for the biomerge evolution sequences, I realized Tumblr might flag my blog for nsfw content??? Because the kids go full on nude in these sequences (which is a bit creepy). So I ended up cutting away some frames to make it a little safer for work but idk I'm still worried they'll flag my blog, let's just see what happens when I eventually posts the gifs lol

So back to the question, I like the idea that when you're Biomerged, you have a more active role in the battle, whereas when your partner warp-digivolves, you're still kind of sidelined and watching the fight and hoping for the best outcome (unless you're Miyako descending on a literally demon lady with a skateboard...oh man we all love Miyako). So, even though it's kind of creepy to be naked inside an energy bubble, I would go with Biomerge, it feels like you're part of the action. Plus, according to Ruki, it's a very warm and pleasant feeling after biomerging with your partner. So there's that!

”Why do you call yourself Windfighter?”

Yamato blinked. Looked up from the newspaper and looked at his kids. Both stared at him, Tim leaned forwards and Maria nonchalantly leaned against the back of the chair.

”Did I forgot to log out somewhere?” Yamato asked.

”Yeah”, Tim answered.

He was almost vibrating. Yamato wondered what he was expecting from the answer. He grinned.

”Are you suuuure you want to know?”

”Yamato”, Sora warned from the kitchen. ”Dear.”

”Couldn’t care less”, Maria answered.

But Yamato could tell she was curious as well. Tim almost bounced on the chair.

”Well”, Yamato answered.

Closed the newspaper and leaned back on the chair. Looked at the ceiling.

”It’s from a long time ago. I was just a few years older than you are now.”

He had been fourteen, close to fifteen. The best years of his youth. He moved the newspaper so it was aligned with the edge of the table, could feel Sora’s eyes burn his neck.

”Your uncle and I was on our way home, me from bandpractice and he from skateboarding, when we were stopped.”

”I’ve been looking for you.”

Whoever, or whatever it was, stared at Takeru and Yamato stepped between them, arm out to shield Takeru, looked at the person. They had long, tousled hair, dirt, leaves and sticks stuck in it. A colourful mask in the shape of a bird covered their face, wings made of feathers along their arms. Yamato wondered if they were real, if this was a digimon. They were floating in the air, a cloud gathered at their feet.

”Give me your powers”, they said.

Takeru grabbed Yamato’s guitar, pulled at it.

”Yamato, run away.”

Yamato planted his feet firmer on the ground. He had gotten better, less desperate to protect Takeru, more trusting. Knew that Takeru could take care of himself. But he couldn’t leave, couldn’t step out of the way. He needed to protect Takeru from whatever this lunatic was.

”Yamato!” Takeru repeated.

The creature’s eyes narrowed. It had to be a digimon. Humans didn’t float.

”I’m not letting you hurt Takeru!”

The creature lifted its wings, lifted further into the air. Yamato should have felt scared, felt fear drip along his back, but he didn’t. The sky rumbled, thunder roared above them from what had just been a clear sky.

”Then go down with him.”

The creature’s wings started glowing, a bright green that cut through the air, made Yamato’s eyes ache. He lifted a hand above his eyes, felt someone tug on his jacket.

”Razor winds!”

The wings cut through the air, the light thrown off of them. Towards Yamato and Takeru. Yamato reached behind himself to make sure Takeru was safe, Takeru pulled at Yamato to get him out of the way. But Yamato planted his feet even firmer, leaned forwards, towards the attack. It would hurt, he didn’t know how much, but at least Takeru would be fine, able to run away.

Then it hit. The air was knocked out of him, light spread around him. Pulsated. But it didn’t hurt. The creature stared, its wings started glowing again. Yamato lifted a hand, stared at the light pulsating around it. It felt like an autumn breeze, moved with his body.

”Razor winds!”

Another attack. Yamato closed his eyes, felt the breeze around him grow stronger. Explore every inch of his body.

”Razor winds!”

It wouldn’t hurt him. Yamato let his arms fall to his sides, took a breath. The breeze rushed into his lungs and he didn’t need to breathe any longer. Wind filled him up, blew around him, made him glow. He was full of energy, was about to explode.

”Sailor evolution!”

His clothes disappeared, his guitarr. Replaced by leathery armor in a soft green, almost white, color. Arrows at his hip and two small wings on his back.

”Windfighter.”

He felt dizzy, the world returning to him, but different. Everything had a whitegreen tint it hadn’t had before.

”My turn”, he said.

Grinned. Lifted a hand, drew circles towards the sky. Wind gathered, blew faster and faster. Held back by only his will.

”Tornado!”

He threw the winds towards the creature, watched as it was engulfed, thrown into the air and disappeared into the sky. Then the winds disappeared. Yamato took a stumbling step, seconds from keeling over. But Takeru’s hand was on his chest, supported him.

”Well then”, Takeru said, voice trembled, ”welcome to the family.”

Maria and Tim both stared at Yamato. He grinned.

”You’re lying”, Maria said.

”Maybe I am”, Yamato answered.

Tim stood up, bounced.

”Is it true, is it? Are you a magical knight?”

Yamato laughed, grabbed the newspaper and opened it again.

”Maybe I am”, he said. ”Or maybe I just had a period where I was really into bows when I was a kid.”

”That’s so lame”, Maria said. ”You’re cringe.”

”Of course I am – I’m a parent.”

Maria shook her head, stood up.

”Come on, Tim, let’s stop wasting time here.”

Tim hesitated, less inclined to disbelieve the stories Yamato told them. But after a while he turned around, followed Maria back towards the living room. Yamato wondered what exactly they were doing out there. Sora put a hand on his shoulder, squeezed it hard enough to leave bruises.

”I know”, Yamato answered. ”I won’t tell the Oracle if you won’t.”

”I’m sure he already knows”, Sora answered. ”We weren’t allowed to tell anyone.”

Yamato knew. He let out a sigh, put the paper down again.

”Sometimes I wonder about that time. What would have happened if it hadn’t been a warrior of wind who was after Takeru?”

”Yamato?”

Yamato looked at his hands. He couldn’t feel the power of the wind any longer, it had long since faded, even if it hadn’t completely left him yet.

”Would I have been someone else, gotten another element? Or would the attack have killed me?”

Sora smiled, wrapped her arms around him.

”We were stupid back then, weren’t we?”

”I’m not sure I would have done it differently today”, Yamato laughed.

Intertwined his fingers with Sora’s, leaned his head back against her.

”I knew they wouldn’t believe it”, he said. ”Not until it’s their time, and they would have found out by then anyway.”

”...but why do you go by Windfighter?”

Yamato laughed, let go of Sora and grabbed the paper. Opened it to a page he hadn’t read yet.

”Do you know how hard it is to come up with new and unique internet aliases? Windfighter works perfectly most of the time.”

”Fine”, Sora said. Kissed his cheek. ”Just remember to log out next time.”

Yamato’s heart skipped a beat. He dropped the paper, stood up. Let out a loud ’shit’ before he darted towards the livingroom. That’s what they were doing out there.
