my problem with slb's filmography is that he romanticizes events so much that his movies/shows don't have the desired impact on the people. in padmavaat he glorified jauhar to the point that people started defending it and even sati. in gangubai, he made everything so grand that people forgot that the lady herself wasn't an all around good person. now, he's done the same thing with heeramandi. like i genuinely saw someone say that they wanted to live a life like in the show where they have 5 attendants to lift their skirt for them and whatnot. the people are so enchanted with the clothes/sets/etc that they have failed to grasp the main premise of the show. they fail to realise that the women he has shown had to go through innumerable brutalities and were just glorified mistresses with no power of their own. and living their life isn't gonna be fun and aesthetic.

A few days ago I got cast as Dorothy in my local theatre company’s production of The Wizard Of Oz and I just know this means I’m gonna be hyperfixating on @whotfletamothhyperfx’s @sonicwizardofozau 10 times harder! So I decided to draw their AU Tails design + T-Pup

I feel like we’re witnessing a new trope in military propaganda media emerging and it’s the “lets have a whiny overly-dramatic white liberal girl say that killing innocent Arabs is bad on-screen” to send a message to the audience that being against the US’s military crimes in the Middle East is something that only dumb sensitive lefties with pronouns in their bio do.

Also in the current cinema environment that is very much oriented towards filmmakers who love to shine the light on the act of filmmaking, it's weirdly such a comfort to see The Fall Guy is made by someone who loves movies themselves!

#DOES THIS MAKE SENSE #I think the art of filmmaking is so endearing and intricate!! it's so beautiful there's a whole generation of directors who love the process #but in its own way i am just an outsider to the process so it captures my heart in a different way #for someone to express what the final medium can mean to you!!!#yes the perfect song at the perfect time and the laugh in the midst of the whole story and the rush of the best sequence they got!#they mean a lot to me because it's the part of the art i get to engage in #and this movie overall felt like a love letter to that. is that strange?#ANYWAY LOVE U ALL HOPE YOU'RE WELL
