i discuss the classification of igneous petrology as you fall asleep during my lecture (PART 1) (ASMR)

Childe/Zhongli, Alternate Universe (read part 2 here) When Childe's younger sister tells him about the volunteer at the library, he does not make the connection between that and his new favorite ASMR YouTuber, Rex Lapis.

Childe has a very effective method of getting through college. His little sister, who’s caught him making coffee at three in the morning on more than one occasion the past week alone, would beg to differ. 

“You’re the best older brother,” she starts off, and he’s sure she’s trying to convince herself more than him at this point, “but you need to fix your sleeping habits.” Then, because she’s his little sister, she’d flash him a smile and pat his shoulder reassuringly.

(The comment is not lost on him though. He understands his sleeping situation will eventually wear him down if it hadn’t already, but he believes if he’ll drink a coffee every morning and a Monster every night, he’ll get through three days. By the third day, he’ll hardly be coherent but that doesn’t matter because he’ll conk out for the next twelve hours and then repeat.)

“Don’t worry, Tonia,” he says, trying to sound as reassuring as possible as he contemplates whether it’s worth it or not to swallow a pill of 5-hour energy with his morning coffee. “Once break ends, I’ll get back to normal.”

“You said that six seasons ago.”

Childe frowns, trying to remember if his sleeping schedule was this dysfunctional last year. “Huh?”

“The Walking Dead seasons,” Tonia clarifies, as if she’s not twelve years old and the show is for grown adults. He thinks. He hasn’t checked Commonsensemedia ever since La Signora labeled him as a “helicopter parent” and his Netflix tab has been playing How to Get Away with Murder as background noise for the past few weeks.

Isn’t it a show about zombies though? Tonia’s sheepish smile tells it all, because it’s the same exact guilty look he had when he got caught red-handed as a kid.

(Once he remembers later, Childe promises himself, he’ll check out The Walking Dead.)

“Oh. Well. I have a lot of shows to catch up on, you know. Not to mention a ton of my professors gave me reading for over the break.”

A half lie. They did give him a lot of reading because each professor assumed that their classes were his only one, and with seven days left, he still has a textbook worth of reading to go through. But there are no shows that Childe would sacrifice his precious sleep for. As a matter of fact, he would love to sleep. He’s spent the majority of his classes back in high school sleeping and faking attention, saving his grade at the last minute — it was quite the extreme sport really, if he says so himself.

Whenever he tries to sleep recently, his thoughts run at several hundred miles per hour, and he spends several hours staring at the ceiling before succumbing to the computer at his desk and watching trashy movies. At this point, he must have gone through the entire romance comedy list on Netflix. (Not a proud point in his life but if anybody ever wanted him to give a list of best to worst romance comedy movies, he now has one.)

Tonia, on the other hand, isn’t incredibly convinced.

Admittedly, the excuse was lame. Also, he can’t easily lie to his little sister, who’s far shrewder than he takes her for at times.

“You never start your reading in advance. You like to speed read it right before your class or watch a five-minute video on the chapters while your teachers take attendance. But that’s… uh, ‘a bad work ethic.’” Tonia looks immensely proud of herself as she says this, finishing it off with, “Zhongli told me that.”

“Zhongli?” he repeats, trying to remember if that’s one of her classmates or some stranger that’s hoping to kidnap his sister.

“The guy that volunteers at the library sometimes. He recommended me a loot of good books to read, but he talks like an old man.”

“How old?” Childe can tell she’s enjoying this — talking about her new friend at the library that he’ll probably have to run a background check on.

“Like he’s in his sixties or something. But he looks… actually, he looks your age! And he’s a student too. I told him all about you.”

Well, that doesn’t sound very reassuring coming from the mouth of a twelve-year-old. He’s not sure if that translates to his social security number, his current dilemma, or just that he’s her older brother.

“Like all of the stories you told me when I was a kid. And then when Lumine came to pick me up, she stayed to show him pictures of you too.”

“Of course she did,” he mumbles, ruffling her hair. One of these days he’s going to move without telling his classmates and the twins won’t enter his apartment unannounced. (But Tonia adores their company and the stories they tell her far too much for him to actually do it. But that doesn’t mean he’s above making threats when they tell his little sister about the bet he made about white-out and how it could dye hair. The jury is still out on this one.) “She’s just mad because I get away with it and she doesn’t. But don’t do it yourself. It’s a bad habit,” he adds, remembering that he should at least try to be a good influence on his younger sister when he can.

“Okaaay,” she says unconvincingly, before shaking her hair and running off to her room with lunch he prepared for her.

Watching her close the door and no doubt continue her binge of The Walking Dead, he takes out his phone and texts Lumine.

He opens his Youtube app, typing in Rex Lapis and expecting Lumine’s suggestion to be a joke. Despite them being friends for nearly two years now, she’s never made any indication of knowing his type. And he’s sure he’s never been that vocal about it either, only shooting appreciative looks at history majors and paying more attention than necessary to the TA for ‘Tradition of Justice and Law.’ (It’s unfortunate that those short-term crushes never led to anything, but maybe that’s for the better seeing that Childe has never understood the appeal of relationships.)

It is an ASMR channel, judging by the ASMR playlist he finds as he scrolls through the account. The icon shows no face — only a microphone — which leaves him skeptical. Most of the video titles belong in a petrology lecture as well, which makes him even more convinced that it’s a joke. He finds a few readings of ancient literature and decides to pick ‘I discuss the classification of igneous petrology as you fall asleep during my lecture (PART 1) (ASMR)’ because that’s exactly what he needs. (Not the very moment — but ten hours later when he’s in the bed memorizing the pattern of his ceiling wondering why he stole from his fifth grade teacher’s candy jar during lunch.)

When Childe opens the video, he damn near gasps.

The man in the video is exactly his type. His eyes are a soft amber color, framed with long lashes, and it’s almost enough for him to lose his dignity and message Lumine a long thank you text about how she is always right and he’ll pay for her coffee for the following week.  He smiles at the screen, albeit a little sheepishly, dark hair framing his face with a long ponytail that Childe can’t see the end of. On his right ear, there are a pair of earrings with a single feather that brush against his neck when he moves his head.

Even before he speaks, Childe is mesmerized, sure he’ll already memorize his features from the curve of his nose to the way he tilts his head, displaying the expanse of his neck.

Really — he reminds him of actors in historical dramas, the way he sits regally, and how he speaks. His voice is low and slow as he adopts a careful manner of speaking, leaning into the mic.

“I’m Rex Lapis, and I’ll be discussing igneous petrology today, which is part one in a three-part petrology series. I apologize in advance, seeing that my knowledge is limited compared to many petrologists out there but my friend Venti said that many of my viewers are here for my voice, so I’m very excited to start today’s video.”

Holy shit.

For the following week, Childe learns less about petrology, the philosophy of economics, and historical revisionism concerning matters of war and more about Rex Lapis, who is not in love with his voice but often finds himself in the middle of long tangents without explanations. His favorite book series is the Legend of the Lone Sword, which he says he’ll look forward to reading out loud for the channel. (Childe replays that part of the video again and again, captivated by his excitement as he mindlessly taps the mic while he speaks, his tangent cutting off mid-word — as it usually does, much to his dismay.)

His guilty obsession is not lost on Tonia, who realizes that instead of drinking Monster every night he’s been engrossed in his phone completely, often not noticing her or when the water starts bubbling. But because his sleeping schedule has been alleviated, she says nothing until Lumine comes over as she always does, not forgetting their weekly schedule of watching trashy movies while leeching off of Childe’s food.

Because he doesn’t trust the twins with the kitchen — even if they can cook — she instead spends her time sitting next to Tonia and spreading more of her anti-Childe propaganda while they wait. This usually involves Tonia occasionally calling out Childe’s name and asking, “Is that true?” or “Did you really do that?”

This time is different though.

Worried that Lumine finally decided to show Tonia a video of last semester’s presentation, he leans over, looking at the computer screen.

And he’s wrong. Unfortunately. Maybe it should’ve been his presentation because even if he botched it and accidentally projected his work process — screaming notes and all — to the class instead of his actual presentation, it would’ve been better than the two of them watching one of Rex Lapis’ videos together.

The ‘I read Erosion: Essays of Undoing to you as it rains outside’ video, to be specific, which is where Rex Lapis is embarrassed by Venti mid video when asked if this was his idea of a date with a lover. (And then it ends with Rex Lapis asking for video suggestions from the commentors, his face still flushed from the previous comments.)

Oh God — oh fuck.

“So he is your type,” Lumine says, her expression a bit too smug for his liking. Tonia looks half awake, scrolling through articles as the video plays, more interested in ‘Top 10 Glenn Rhee Moments’ than Childe’s crush. Her expression is a bit guilty as she does so — she’s biting her lip and avoiding his gaze, but he assumes that it’s just because they went through his YouTube history.

“I can neither confirm nor deny that statement,” he retorts, but the YouTube history she pulls up once Tonia hands the computer over to her says it all. (It’s quite mortifying, really — even Tonia is giving him a look, but it’s not as bad as Lumine’s shit eating grin.)

“Well… he does have a nice voice,” Childe finally says, thinking that perfectly encompasses his most recent obsession. Because he does have a nice voice — it’s soothing and speaks to him without really speaking to him directly. (The good looks are a bonus, he assures himself. A fantastic bonus, but a bonus nonetheless.)

“He does,” Tonia confirms, smiling toothily up at him, and he resists the urge to ruffle her hair with Lumine staring at him so skeptically. “But I don’t understand much of what he’s saying. He — heh — talks like an old man.”

“Don’t worry, Tonia, your brother likes him because he’s attractive,” Lumine informs her, now fast forwarding on one of Rex Lapis’ videos. “Did you know that he lives nearby?”

“Huh?”

The knife he’s holding clatters to the floor, and the two look down and back up at him with— hold on, why does it feel like they’re in on a secret he doesn’t know about?

“Yeah, he’s working on his grad thesis I think… Aether told me it was about something on history,” she muses. “That’s why I recommended his channel to you. He’s a bit of a celebrity in his department.” Childe’s sure his jaw dropped now, trying to maintain his facial expression as he takes out a new knife to chop up the onions.

“Really,” he tries to say as calmly as possible, wondering how he should accompany Aether to his lectures without trying to seem as obvious as possible. His voice is a bit shaky he realizes but he can’t quite make the connection between Rex Lapis and actual graduate student that goes to his university.

“Yeah, actually…” Lumine is definitely pretending to think now, enjoying this far too much. “He—”

“It’s Zhongli!” his little sister yells excitedly, practically jumping up and down at this point as if she won the lottery. “Zhongli runs an ASMR channel and he talks just like that in real life! Right, Lumine?”

“Yeah.”

Childe sighs, holding a hand up to his face. The realization that he’s been obsessed with the same guy that hears about every stupid thing he did secondhand is way too much — and the fact that he’s been listening to his voice every night before he went to bed the past week is way too much. He’s sure his face is redder than before judging by the amused expressions on Lumine’s and Tonia’s faces — really, they’re mirror images of each other right now.

Not for the first time, Childe swears to himself that he’ll never let her into his apartment without signing a contract ever again.

After the initial move to Mrs Kent's house they had given you a week to settle in before getting stuck in to your school work. Not only you but konner as well letting you both bond which you had, the both of you had become close...konner had opened up quicker than you had, already secure about his place in the family you on the other hand was less sure. You had a trouble with it you wanted to believe that you was here permanently , that this was it where you belonged but you couldnt help holdingnyour breath still waiting for something to happen. Currently you and konner was in the old barn, you'd both unconsciously decided that it was your hang out, the place you go to escape the adults and get to know one another without the eagle eyes of the others. Somewhere to get away from an overbearing Clark who seemed to take the term mother hen to a whole new level, it wasnt necessarily bad but it was hard for you to go from no one gives a shit to holy shit this guy is consistently fussing over you. You knew he was trying to be inclusive and trying to solidify your place in the family reassuring you, wanting to show you he cared. Which was good youll admit you liked the attention in a way, you'd not had this type of parental guidance for a long long time but you'd didn't realoze how suffocating it was. You also suspected that your injuries had something to do with it aswell, you couldn't exactly fault him for it.

So here you were hiding out in the barn with konner as Clark flitted about the place doing odd chores here and there .Martha had gone out to work and would be home after the lunch rush at work.  You rolled across the blanket that covered the hay pile your lime green cast glowing in the noon sun you winced as the light reflected off of it and shuffled moving it into a shadowed area. Currently you and konner were shareing details about your abilities, something the both of you had avoided and danced around until you got more comfortable with each other.

"Soo you don't make things? You just stretch'em" you nodded at him as he sat above you cross legged on one of the wooden cross beams that spanned the large space.

"Yeah pretty much..I can't touch living things tho, no plants or animals or people" you said glancing at your arm sighing it would have been nice to just fix it but no  you had to wait it out.

"That sucks..." you nodded mournfully but then tilted your head back to get a better look at him.

"So what about you? Your an ET wannabe right?" He laughed flipping you the bird"Fuck you" you giggled as he shook his head jumping down from the beam landing just before you.

"Kryptonian is the politically correct term I think....Well hybrid... I'm half Clarks and... Half human" he said dusting off a little to sit on the hay across from you. You noticed the hesitation and the way he swerved around his own comments. Deciding to leave it be you opted to ignore it, much to Konners relief.

"So can you do all the stuff he can?" Konner smiled and shrugged

"You mean dad? Yeah sort of, I can do most...We are still waiting to see if we're exactly alike but I've got the strength speed and flight....I can do the lazer thing to which is cool but I havent found a practical use for it yet...Or a way to practice that shit is hot." You hummed at him then looked out of the open barn doors to the corn field.

"Corn?" He tilted his head following your gaze confused

"What?" You smiled at him Sitting up letting your arms fall into your lap

"Pop some corn...I mean theres a field right there...." he looked at the rows of corn catiously.

"Popcorn...You want me to use my laser eyes to...Get you a snack? How is that gojng to help me?" You rolled your eyes at him grunting."Oh for fuck sake...get unpopped popcorn and I will throw them in the air and you pop'em with your melty eyes.... you know target practice...And if I happen to catch some with my mouth its a bonus!" He sat up a little it wasn't a bad idea but Clark wouldn't like it.He doesnt like him practicing without him here.

"What about dad? Won't he be pissed?" You laughed and shook your head.

"Not really not like anyone can see us out hear and Clark did say we can practice around the place" Konner's grin fell he was worried that you hadn't really...Adapted? well you had...But you wont refer to the others as Dad and Grandma. As far as he was concered you were his sister already but he just really wanted you to know it was okay...That you really did have a family now. His dad and Grandma had told him not to push but he got the feeling you wanted to...Somethjng was holding you back.

"..You do know he is technically your dad now to right... You can call him dad and you can call Grandma, Grandma they wont be mad....I think they would like that." you sighed looking down, you knew that but it just... You didn't know, was it disrespectful to your real parents? You'd only been here a week? Surely it was to early...Even if it felt right, natural. He waved a hand at you

"You dont have to...I just didn't want you not to.. you know..Incase you thought they didn't want you to thats all, don't want you to have stupid thoughts like that holding you back" you blinked at him smiling sadly

"I-I do but...I still dont think I will be here long...I'm gonna slip up, if I ever accidentally hurt Martha I'm gone"  he frowned at you

"No...If that happens; which I don't think it will, but if it does then we deal with it togethet...you wont get very far if you do run...Me and dad will bring you back home and we talk things out .Thats what family is, we stay together and help each other, your my little sister, the first person my age I don't have to worry about hurting so much. I can relax more around you because you can protect yourself if thing get to much, you think im gonna let you leave over an accident? Fuck no like Dad keeps saying your here now, your a kent and your stuck with us...I hope you see that sooner rather then later it can't be nice always being ready to run" your lip quivered eyes filling with tears as he explained this, the conviction in his voice how he spoke with absolute certainty. Unwilling to cry in front of him you simply nodded to him. Getting the message he patted your arm then disappeared for what seemed like seconds with a small bag of unpopped corn cernals.

"Show off" you sniffed moving to wipe your eyes only to hiss when you cracked yourself on the head with your cast you whined rubbing to sore spot and froze when Konner held out some tissues to you

"I grabbed them inside" you smiled at him meekly. He gave you a soft look, he hated seeing you struggle but he had said what needed to be said, said what he had needed to hear when it was him all those years ago. Quickly he changed his expression and smirked tossing you the bag of popcorn cernals you opened them swiftly still fighting a few tears back then looked around deciding on the safest area to throw them.

"So... Just to clarify if this falls down you will save me right?" he smiled nodding"Of course I will, you will be out of here before it even started falling down" you nodded then took two cernals in hand.

"so one or two?" he smiled and held up a finger. One. you threw it up and shreiked as he tried to ignite it missing ...well you only noticed he missed when you heard the little tap of it hitting the floor you both laughed seeing two tiny holes in the side of the barn. You grabbed another and threw it up he missed again, but he ws closer than before.This carried on for another few minutes with you oth getting excited as he got closer just skimming one, the heat from his vision making it partially pop.

"Oh no that one dont count you didnt hit the fuckjng thing!" He argued

"It popped tho!"  You blinked at him.

"Okay half a point ready to go again?" He fist pumped then nodded readying himslef to go agajn.Finally thirty six cernals later he got it. You both jumped up.

"FUCK YEAH WOO!" You quickly moved to the popped popcorn on the floor dusting it off then ate it, you held up your hands to him chewing slowly as if you was a food critic then shook our head.

"Yep no under cooked" you both stared then burst out into hysterics crying with laughter.

"Lets try two this time!" You nodded moving to the bag pulling two more cernals out of the bag when you turned back round you froze. Shit.

"Why are there singe holes all over this barn?" Konner jumped turning around faceing an unamused Clark, who stood frowning at the both of you with his arms crossed. You and konner shared a look then peered around the barn...There was lots of them.. Some were just peep holes others longer and had charred lines around them. In all the fun youd both forgot where you were, and the barn now looked like it had taken a spray of bullets from a firing squad.

"Well? Konner? Y/n?" You cleared your throat and smoved to stand beside Konner

"Konner was...practicing, training" Clark raised an eyebrow shifti g his weight to one foot.

"Hmm? what exactly? See how he could burn the barn down without setting it on fire?" You both winced at his tone...He really wasnt impressed.

"You know this barn is older then me? It survived me growing up playing in it, yet an afternoon with the both of you and it looks about ready  to keel over?....What were you both doing?" You moved to open your mouth but Clark stopped you holding up a hand.

"And if you try to get smart with me and say training again your going to be grounded for much longer then you already are young lady!" You flinched back. Wow. He had never spoke to you like that...Well not since you met him, he was always so laid back and fun, the type of adult you listened to because they were so chill but who knew he could switch over to no nonsense stern dad so effortlessly... You wavered uncertain how to approach him like this, it had been a while since youd cared about an adults opinion of you and you really didn't want Clark to hate you turning you looked to konner for help.

"Well...we were seeing how accurate my aim was...So y/n was throwing popcorn cernals and I was trying to pop them....I did miss a few times." Clark blinked then scanned the barn. He sighed shaking his head at his son exasperated.

"Konner... We've spoke about this I will take you to the fortress to train, but not here you could hurt yourself!" Clark stopped his scolding when he saw you take a large step infront of konner

"It was my fault I wanted to see so I came up with the idea...He was just trying to cheer me up." You stood firm shaking a little, you didn't like Clark raising his voice, he didn't shout but it was enough to make you nervous of him. He fixed you with a look making you cower from him slightly then sighed shaking his head, he didn't want you to be scared of him.

"Thank you y/n. But even if it was your idea he still knows how I feel about it I'm disappointed in both of you. Your both grounded for the rest of the week, this was very reckless and I don't want to catch either of you doing this again are we clear?" You both nodded to him solonmly resigning yourself to a few days being stuck indoors. He sighed then smiled a little to tell you the truh he was happy in a way, you'd become close and were up to mischief, which was good? You could both be a little reckless and act your age. You both had someone to let loose with. But he couldn't help worrying over the two of you. Had you got to carried away the barn could have collapsed,  yes konner would have most likely got you both out but you were already hurt, already vulnerable and fragile.  He really didn't want to risk anything. Luckily it hadn't come to that and the damage to the barm wasn't that bad... A few new boards and a new cross beam at the top, regular humans would need to dismantle the roof to sort it out but him and konner could have it done in an afternoon, he would also have you help as he had no doubt that you'd encouraged your brother. He smiled chuckling catching the two teens by surprise.

"Popcorn...I mean it was obvious right?..Wish I'd thought of that one...Any way lets start sorting this out befor Ma gets home shouldn't take to long not like the time I-" he caught him slef noticing the looks he was getting.

"What did you do to the barn?" You asked breaking the silence as konner waited both eager to hear what Clark had gotten up to when he was little. He cleared his throat

"Never you mind, now come on get to it, start picking up all that corn the we can see about plugging some of those holes" you shared a look with konner moving slowly collecting the corn as Clark moved to the back of the barn inspecting the damage.

"What do you think he did?" Konner shrugged

"Not sure apparently according to Grandma he was a little goody two shoes so... it couldn't have been that bad"

"Im gonna ask her when she gets back" konner froze and shook his head.

"No dont! Do not do that! We don't wana be in trouble with Grandma ever, dads a piece of piss to deal with but Grandma? She is a different beast altogether...To clever with punishments I mean she perfected her methods on him... She knows what shes doing" you blinked at him.

"We? You mean you I wont get in to much trouble...I mean evidence points to you, your the one with laser eyes." You smirked impishly at him as he looked shocked.

"You'd throw me under the bus? Just like that?" You nodded

"To avoid Martha's wrath abso-fucking-lutly sorry dude but Im not getting sucked into that shit show...Actually....Dont worry I got this she will never know." Befor Either on them could ask you'd closed your eyes then opened. Konner took a step back as they glowed bright. And sure enough the small holed were closeing, you coiled the fibres of the wood around in tight circles until the holes were all coveres feeljng aroh d the planks looking for them all. Konner gasped watching the way you manipulated the planks hearing a slight tiny creaking of the wood as it bended around itself.  You moved to the side looking at the damaged beam quickly knitting it back together filling in the two deep burns that ran across it. Slowly you looked back down to the other two and smiled.

(Chapter 1) (FFNet)

Chapter 2: Help!

It’s been more than a week since the incident occurred and at a certain place, some people are gathered at the school rooftop to talked about the news spreading worldwide and because of that, they’re getting uneasy each day past. And to add some more, a certain pink-headed boy is nowhere to found.

They were all gathered at the PK Academy rooftop discussing the news spreading that concerns their friend.

And after the long silence, Kaido was the one who spoke first.

“What should we do?” he asks with concern.

Everyone still remained silent, thinking hard what to say or suggest at the minute. Since all of them are not entirely sure how much of the news we’re true and how much was it is fake. Furthermore, the man in question was not even there to clarify the misunderstanding so how can they know what to believe. Until Yumehara responds to Kaido’s query.

“The only thing we need to do in this situation is to confirm it to him!” she asserts and everyone murmurs in agreement.

“Then, after class, we should all go to Saiki’s house and talk this to him!” Kobayasu proposes the idea which everyone agrees. Until Nendou butt-in.

Scratching his chin absentmindedly.

“Eh… earlier before going at PK, I tried visiting Aibou’s house to check on him. Yet, according to her Mother, Aibou is currently not in their house.”

Everyone is rendered speechless to what Nendou informed. And they began to think of something again to help the situation they’re in.

“Eh…” Kaidoh grimaced “Then where do you think Saiki is?” looking at everyone to gain some answer but all he heard was an unhappy sigh.

Crossing his arms over his chest, Hairo started to murmur aloud. “Hmm… Well, I’ve been thinking…” now all eyes were on him as he continues “what if Saiki’s parents were just making that up” they all tilted their heads.

Hairo scratching the back of his head “You know… to avoid further interruption and also for Saiki’s safety?!” he queried.

All of them stared at their class representative as if he said something spectacular as they began to gossip. Agreeing on what Hairo affirmed as they began to talk coherently.

While everyone was busy chatting. A certain blue-headed girl was quietly staring at nothing, deep in thought. Until Yumehera her best friend notices her restlessness. She taps her friend’s shoulder that brought her back to reality.

Teruhashi glance at Yumehara with concern. Which the latter smiled towards the girl and ask.

“Are you okay?” gently squeezes her hand.

Teruhashi tilted her head for a minute until it dawned on her what she meant, she shook her head and waving her hands frantically.

“A…hehehe yes I’m fine” smiling warily as she reassured her friend still, Yumehera didn’t believe her one-bit but she let it slide for a moment.

Smiling at her friend. “Okay then. Tell me if you have concerns, hmm?” She reaffirmed which the latter nodded in agreement.

“Yes. Thank you!” thanking and smiling at her friend for understanding her whim.

“So… after class all of us should go to Saiki’s and plead her mother and convinced her that we don’t mean no harm and we just want to talk to her son!” Kaidoh concludes their plan which all agreed and laugh as nothing worrisome happened a moment ago.

All of them were relieve somehow and excited to see their friend who’s been shutting them down till now.

And after their long discussion, they decided to rehearse their plan that took a few minutes and when they are done they all decided to go but, Teruhashi stops them.

“Wait!” she called. And everyone stopped to look at her.

“Is there something wrong Teruhashi-san” Hairo ask first.

Teruhashi’s hand was trembling and her heart was beating fast. She places her hands on her chest while calming her beating heart. After that, she decided to face her classmate full of determination. But when she opens her mouth her voice stuttered.

“I-If it’s alright with you guys… I-I…” struggling to speak, until Mera called her.

“Teruhashi-san are you okay??” asking her classmate worriedly.

“Wa-E…”

She flinches at the sudden question as she started to play with her hands.

-what do I do? At this point, I can never say it. If this goes on, I will never have the chance! Get a grief Kokomi, you can do this! - She thought and started slapping her cheeks, running her hands through her hair. With that, everyone started to look at her strangely at the same time worried.

They were all attempting to fulfill their best to get the awareness of the pretty girl but to no avail, it all failed big time as the school Madonna is pretty much out of it.

A minute goes by and they were all murmuring on how to get Teruhashi’s attention back. Be it tapping one’s shoulder to make them do it until…

“Are you okay Teruhashi-san?”

While all of them are busy pointing fingers at each other Nendou being Nendou initiated to move. He leaned his face a few inches towards Teruhashi’s that startled the pretty girl.

“Gah!!” Startled at the proximity of Nendou’s face towards her that she stepped a few inches away from him and made her screamed that alarmed the others.

“You surprised me Nendou-kun” placing her hands on her chest as she took a deep breath.

Everyone glance towards Teruhashi and spoons toward the two to ask what happened. And Teruhashi explained calmly that Nendou just startled her and nothing more as she apologizes for frightening them. They all look at Nendou suspiciously while he just randomly poking his nose which the guys expect Hairo got irritated. Though to speak, they all know everything they say will never get to Nendou as he was stupid in a nice way. So Kaido and Kobayasu run their hands through their hair and shrug it off.

After the little fiasco, Yumehera stared at her friend.

“Ne, Kokomi, so what do you want to say earlier?” She inquires.

“Yeah! Teruhashi-san is there something wrong?” before Teruhashi could answer. Mera beat her first and ask a follow-up question that made God’s favorite shrug.

“Hmm…” rubbing the back of her neck. “Well I was thinking…” sighing tiredly but decided to just let it all out. “I was just thinking if, If it’s alright with you guys” Clenching her hands tightly “Instead of all of us… this is it Kokomi” trying to cheer herself. “I should just go there by myself. Kyaaa… I said it” with her eyes shut down and saying her last words as fast as she could and at the same time cheering herself.

She took a deep breath as she slowly opening her eyes to see their reactions. Seeing that their eyes was wide open she started to fondled her fingers and shook her head in different directions thinking of an excuse to escape the situation she’s in. While the others are looking at each other confirming if they heard it right.

“Eh!” Hairo rubbing her chin “You’ll go there yourself!?” He asks again for confirmation.

Teruhashi sighed umpteenth time and bowed her head in agreement. “Yes, I will!” Others are still confused but didn’t bother to ask more as they believe she has her reasons.

“Do you like Aibou? Teruhahsi-san?”

At Nendou’s sudden query everyone panic mostly Teruhashi who again screams.

Waving her hands in the air frantically while she shook’s her head in dazed.

“Eh… N-no it’s not like that!!!!” blushing madly and scratching her face while looking away and cold sweat starts to appear on her face.

“Yeah! Nendou you Stupid! I’m sure Teruhashi-san was just worried at Saiki. Right Teruhashi-san?” Kaido informed but started to get flustered as he shouts at Nendou. And Teruhashi Nodding at Kaido’s statement fastly and sighed.

Kobayasu and Kaido for the second time scolded Nendou for being straight-forward and saying stupid things. Once the commotion calmed down, Hairo spoke.

“Then it’s up to you Teruhashi-san!” Hairo enthusiastically cheered God’s beloved angel.

Kaido approved of it as well. Raising his thumb “Good luck Teruhashi-san!” cheered the chuunibyo.

Kobayasu scratching his nose. “Yeah! We believe in you Teruhashi-san!” smiling at Teruhashi.

“If it’s Teruhashi-san I’m sure Saiki-kun will be convinced!” Mera clasped her hand in excitement.

Yumehera claps. “Then it’s settled! Good luck Kokomi!” she winked at her which the latter smiled wryly.

Teruhashi, flattered at everyone who trusts her wholeheartedly started to sigh in contentment as she looked at everyone with a warm smile on her face and thank them for the trust they give.

“Thank you, everyone! I’ll try-“she shakes her head in disapproval. “No” looking up to everyone with refining determination “I will do my best to bring Saiki-kun back to us!” she nodded and smiled again.

After her warm speech, all of them cheered for her. Yumehera secretly giving her thumbs-up and she nods and smiled at her.

Hairo exhaled loudly and claps his hand to get everyone’s attention. “Okay, guys! We will live this matter to Teruhashi-san. I’m sure she will bring Saiki to us back! And we will help him in whatever he needs because…”

“THAT’S WHAT FRIENDS DO!” they all shout in unison. Everyone laughs after that and decided to adjourn their meeting and went back to there classroom.

After their long discussion at the school hallway, it’s Aiura and Toritsuka’s turn to discuss something.

The Gyaru girl looks at Toritsuka warily and asks. “What happened? The last time I check kusuo was asking me about you… then all of a sudden, this happens? Care to explain?” she bombarded him with questions.

“Eh…” rubbing his hair “Um… actually…” he leaned towards Aiura to whisper on her ears. “Saiki-kun preferred for me not to say anything.”

“Eh!!!!” Aiura said loud enough that everyone near them stared suspiciously at them. And Toritsuka immediately covers her mouth and shush her.

She nods in agreement “Sorry!” and wink apologetically. Whispering “But why? I don’t get it, why I shouldn’t know of it? As if I’ll make trouble for him. If I know the problem, I can help him in someway.” Stating her fact.

“Well… this is Saiki-kun we’re talking about. So, I’m sure he has his reason. I don’t exactly know his plan but to assure you, this will end soon. I hope!” reassuring the other member of pysckikers.

Sighing on contentment as she doesn’t have a choice but to believe. “Okay then, I’m sure he’ll contact me if push comes to shove!”

“In agreement” Toritsuka approved.

Meanwhile, after all the commotion that happened. A certain Pink-headed boy was using his clairvoyance to check on what was happening on the school and on those certain troublesome people that always pestering him to no end.

Smiling to himself while saying his catchphrase.

“Yare, Yare… what a troublesome people you are! really” adjusting his glasses and a smirk appears on his face.

“Now what?” He thought as he slumped on his bed. Resting his arms over his eyes. Then, sudden flashback appears on his mind.

-Ku-Kuu-chan is… Kuu-chan is on the news worldwide!- her mother on the phone said in a panic way.

Kuusuke’s eye was wide open as he heard what her Mother informed him over the phone. He glanced at Saiki knowing full well that he knew what the phone call was all about. Taking a deep breath and look straight again.

“Calm down Oka-san, do not worry. Just… for now, don’t answer the phone nor open the door. Wait for us to go home. Don’t panic we’ll be there soon!” he explained calmly as possible.

-okay then, please both of you be safe!- she said worriedly

“Yes, we will! I’ll turn off the phone now. Again, don’t answer the phone and don’t open the door. We’ll teleport there!” He assured her worried mom.

-Okay, Be safe. Bye!-

The phone call ended and Kuusuke glance at his brother.

Sighing “hmm, this is bad!” he said calmly

“What was the phone call all about? Why do you look so tense a while ago? Did the police found this place and are now trying to find us? Or you?” Toritsuka queried frantically.

Scratching the back of his head Kuusuke murmur aloud “well… I got busted!”

Raising his brow in confusion the spirit medium ask again “busted? Am I right? Please tell me I’m not involved with this charade!” sweat running through his face.

Kuusuke laughs half-heartedly as he scratch his cheeks “hehehe… You see, I, somehow and for some reason did an error and it so happened that the mistake I’ve done will cause Kusuo a great danger.” He laughs again which Toritsuka didn’t get what he meant while tilting his head waiting for more explanation.

“What do we do now Kusuo?” glancing on his brother

Saiki sighs ‘Yare, Yare…’

Laughing at his reaction. While Toritsuka was looking back and forth still waiting for the explanation or what the hell is even happening now that he doesn’t know.

‘I’m worried about Mom, so we need to go home first.’ He said expressionlessly which his brother fully agreed. Then, Saiki look at Totitsuka and sighed again. ‘First, I’ll teleport you to your home’

“Eh… but first, tell me what happened?” Totitsuka plead.

“You’ll see when you got home. But make sure, not to open your mouth regarding the matter. I’ll do my best to make it right!” Kuusuke said, though it didn’t answer his question but let it slide. He is worried but he’ll trust the words that Kuusuke let out.

And by that Kuusuke nods at his brother signaling him to take Toritsuka home which he complies without a fight. Later on, they were now at their own house. Their Mother is with their Father now waiting for them to be back and as they teleported in the living room their mother runs fast to embrace both her sons while their father just followed suit looking at his son with a concerned look on his face.

“What is happening? Why is Kuu-chan on the internet?” she asked looking at her two sons for an answer.

“I was startled when my supervisor showed me his phone and seeing Kusuo using his power. I was startled that I stuttered every word I said but in the end, I just did my best to deny all the claims! What happened you two?” looking at his two sons suspiciously.

“Well, it’s my fault!” Kuusuke claimed while walking towards the sofa to seat on it. “You see, I and Kusuo a while ago were playing… to make it short, Kusuo removed the device in which people will know his well being as a psychic through the internet” raising his point finger waving it on the air as if he’s directing an orchestra.

Both their parents were shocked and realized the information Kuusuke said. They both looked at Saiki questioningly.

‘Yare, yare… I did it because it’s unfair for me to act normal when I’m not! And also, I was prepared to when I removed it. You see, as Kuusuke said a while back, he has a good reason why people should be aware of my existence and looking at the bright side… once people know me as a psychic, crimes will stop tremendously.’ stating the facts with deadpan expression but as soon as it escapes his thoughts her parents mostly her mom looks at him worriedly.

“But, Kuu-chan you will never get that peaceful life you desire!”

Saiki sighing triumphantly ‘I don’t care! This is for the best… and don’t worry because I’ll make sure you all… will still be peaceful as it gets. I’ll make sure of that’ smiling reassuringly to her parents, which they held back the tears that are swelling in their eyes for their younger son’s braveness and determination.

“Ayuuuuuuu” both his parents doing the duck-face Saiki hated the most. Until Kuusuke grinned widely.

“hehehe” he laughs that warrant the attention of the three.

“Why are you laughing Kuusuke?” his father asks looking confused.

“Well… seeing the determination look of my younger brother makes me laugh” he grinned widely that annoyed Saiki

‘Please tell me that’s your last word. So I can erase you in this world’ he warns his brother which their parents stop them. But, Kuusuke laughs at him.

“Don’t panic! And Kusuo!” looking serious “I have a plan-“

Kuniharu and Kurumi hurriedly went to Kuusuke facing their son wide eyes as they said in unison.

“YOU HAVE A PLAN?”

“Yes, but till then, don’t do any stupid things until it’s done.” They agreed to him nodding their head approvingly.

“Also, when reporters start to gather here don’t open the door but if it can’t be help… just deny everything.” Again, they agreed.

“One last thing, I have a question for you Kusuo!” looking at his psychic brother and Saiki glanced back at him.

“…”

Saiki look at him confused but answered ‘definitely, It’s Saiko!” he answered telepathically as always.

Kuusuke smirked and raising both his hand to stretch it as he stands while yawning he starts to walk away leaving his family behind… but before he finally leaves. He glances back at his brother and reminded him of the things he needed to do.

“Kusuo don’t do anything while I’m gone. Stay at home don’t go to school!” again, informing his psychic bother and he just nods uninterested. He smirks and walks away leaving for sure this time.

Recalling his genius brother statement, he groaned and tiredly closed his eyes.

“Yare, Yare…”

Several hours later her mother suddenly knocks on his door that woke him on his slumber. Her mother picks at his door.

“Kuu-chan I went and bought you your favorite coffee jelly, do you wa-“

And the doorbell suddenly rang which cause her mother to stop what she’s about to say and mumbled to herself.

“Who might that be this time?”

Though, Saiki knew well who was ringing there doorbell as he groaned tiredly…

“Yare, yare… here comes the troublesome” He thought to himself.

“I’ll go check on it. Wait here Kuu-chan and don’t go anywhere, stay in your room!” as soon as she said that, she dashes towards the front gate to check who might be the visitor this time. And as soon as she saw the person ringing their intercom, her eyes went wide open.

“Kokomi-chan!” she said excitedly.

“Good afternoon Mrs. Saiki!” Teruhashi greets Saiki’s mother. She felt uneasy all of a sudden but still determined to do her job.

“Mrs. Saiki, can… can I go inside for a while?” pleading Saiki’s mom.

“A…” stuttering “Eto… Kokomi-chan you see…” scratching his cheeks “Kusuo’s not-“

“Please!” Teruhashi bowed pleading Saiki’s mother which at the moment felt uneasy avoiding her.

“Well…” -What to do?- having a hard time declining Teruhashi every second until…

“Just bring her inside. I’ll deal with it myself!”

Kurumi got startled for a second and almost said her son’s name. She nods in agreement and looks back at Teruhashi who is still waiting for her answer. She smiled warmly at the girl and dashes towards their main gate as she welcomed Teruhashi.

“You can go in, Kokomi-chan” smiling at the young girl.

“This is it. Go Kokomi!” cheering herself. She glances at Kurumi and thanked her “Thank you, auntie!” Sighing in relief.

Kurumi nods as she walks beside Teruhashi. When they were inside what welcomed them was a pure shock over the maiden as she didn’t expect to see him instantly. She stuttered.

“Sa-Saiki-kun”

the beach house on crack: a love island au

alright lads so basically i’ve been binge watching love island and got to thinking about how jake and amy would be if they were in the villa bc you know it’d be spicy af so naturally i called up my resident brit @fourdrinkamy​ and the two of us wrote up some (4k words of) headcanons!!! If you dont watch love island then 1) culture yourself 2) it’s a british reality tv show that’s like a better version of the bachelor

A group of attractive 20-somethings are made to couple up and share a bed—regardless of whether they have a romantic connection—in a villa on the Spanish island of Majorca. · so jake and amy are part of the original ten in the villa, obvs, along with charles, terry, gina, sharon and rosa and a few other randos who we don’t care about

· when jake comes in amy thinks he’s cute in a goofy sort of way but she doesn’t step forward (therefore admitting she would want to couple up with him) bc she wants to keep her options open and what not but jake thinks shes a BABE so he decides to couple with her anyway

She’s not mad about it though, he seems like a good time

charles choses rosa and she is Not Pleased bc he seems like a goober (he is)

Terry picks sharon and they become like the jack and dani of the season (kinda)

· Charles and jake instantly bond and have one of the best bromances in love island history

· Gina is the biggest pot stirrer the island’s ever seen and is constantly trying to get terry away from sharon but he doesn’t ever budge

· within the first few days its clear to amy they’re just gonna be buddies but that’s fine bc while he likes orange soda in his cereal and is possibly the messiest man she’s ever met he’s really funny and they’re really good at all the different competitions and she’s got the perfect wingman for when mr. right does come around!

· jake doesn’t mind either bc amy’s super chill and also wants to join the police academy so they can talk cop movies which is dope and also they smoke the competition when it comes to challenges

· Amy loves that they get given water bottles and forces Jake to drink it in its entirety x3 daily

· The first set of new guys/girls comes into the villa and while amy and jake both try neither of them feel anything so at the first recoupling Amy chooses to stay with jake so they both can stay and try to find someone

Rosa choses the new guy marcus much to charles’ disappointment

· jake gets everyone in the villa to start making title of your sex tape jokes and it becomes a running joke and the public gets it trending on twitter

· Over the course of the next week or so they have become each other’s best friend in the villa and often find themselves hanging out one on one even when they don’t have to, to the point where everyone else is questioning whether they actually like each other or not

· The islanders get a text from the producers (“I GOT A TEXT”) saying each couple has to pick two other couples they think are the least compatible and whoever has the most votes will get dumped from the villa, but even though jake and amy are in a friendship couple the rest of the couples think they have such good chemistry they don’t receive a single vote

· jake’s thinking the same thing and confides in charles after a few drinks and charles convinces him to say something to her

Charles is already a self-defined “melt” for jake & amy

THATS WHEN TEDDY COMES INTO THE ISLAND dun dun dun

Amy’s instantly drawn to teddy and everyone is excited bc she finally found someone she’s interested in

“He’s 100% my type on paper”

jake is genuinely happy for her ( “how do i look? Is this lipstick too much?” “you look great, ames”) but at the same time is a sad lil puppy

That night they recouple and amy chooses teddy and the public are sad bc jake and amy belong together!!!!!

Gina recouples with jake to keep him around bc she’s his mate le duh

amy’s all excited that night because she finally has someone to cuddle with but teddy just??? rolls over and goes to bed??? uh okay…

Also he snores. Big time.

Charles brings his sleep apnea machine and between that and teddy’s snores no one can sleep

On the brightside no one can hear the couples who are ~doing bits~

(A/N to clarify: in the villa, everyone sleeps in the same room which has six double beds & you share a bed with whoever you happen to be ‘coupled up’ with at the time)

· The jimmy jabs is totes one of the competitions they do and jake lets amy (and therefore teddy) win bc he knows how bad she wants it……and because he still likes her

· The heist, on the other hand, is something jake comes up with on his own and eventually everyone in the villa starts swiping things from each other

· Eventually this super hot girl sophia enters the villa and jake is SMITTEN

Jake in the interview room: “Looks like the gods have finally answered my prayers…”

iain the narrator: “Yes, the gods. Or, our producers wanted a bit of action so they asked our intern to find out your type.”

· Pimento enters the villa the same time as sophia and he and rosa are instantly drawn to each other and poor marcus doesnt stand a chance

They become co-presidents of the do bits society within like a day, even doing it in the middle of the day

Jake walks in on them doing it TWICE in one day and just silently backs out of the room, it’s not like he needed sun cream anyway

· sophia gets to pick two guys to take on a date and one of them is jake and amy is v jealous bc teddy is a dud (not that she’s going to admit that to anyone apart from in the talking head…just yet)

“I just don’t get what he sees in her honestly? Oh god…am i jealous of sophia?! Noooooo…”

Iain the narrator: “Yessssssss…”

· Amy’s been trying to get to know teddy, but it turns out the guy is a total snoozefest, which she tells gina and rosa one day while they’re getting ready

“All he ever talks about is pilsners. I dont even like pilsners!!!”

“Also, I dunno if you guys noticed this but the guy wears mesh underwear. Like why? Is it medical? How do you even ask that?!”

· Jake and sophia immediately hit it off and in the same episode it becomes v clear amy is over teddy and his lack of a personality

Theres a recoupling where boys pick and jake picks sophia and teddy picks amy but amy is Not Pleased

· A group of the islanders (led by Jake) creates a game where they take a shot every time Teddy chooses a pilsner to drink

charles is pissed by like six pm

· UH OH THERES A KISSING CHALLENGE

The islanders play snog marry pie, so basically the boys line up in a line and the girls pick a boy to make out with and one they’d want to marry (and one they want to throw a literal pie in their face)

Sophia snogs jake ofc and then says she’d marry some rando (again who we don’t care about)

Amy, however, chooses to marry teddy - “i’m marrying you because i think we’d have cute babies who would go to code camp” - AND KISSES JAKE. jake is surprised but also not upset?? And when amy pulls away jake seems to lean in for more!!!

Cut to sophia in the talking head like “HANG ON. why did she kiss jake and why did he look like he was going in for more???”

Sophia gets pissed off at jake who’s genuinely confused

“It was just a game??  Like i’dve kissed anyone bc that’s literally the game”

“Yes jake but you clearly went for more. And you didn’t have to slip your tongue into her mouth.”

Jake tries to clear his name but sophia’s not having it

“If you liked amy you should’ve just told me, not made out with her in front of me and the whole damn country”

She storms off after that leaving jake alone on the swinging couch

Cut to jake smiling in the talking head: “amy kissed me…”

NEXT TIME ON LOVE ISLAND…

Just kidding i don’t have enough follow through to make two posts so we’re just gonna do it all now

· After all that ~drama~ sophia goes to sleep on the couch but jake, ever the gentleman, tells her he’ll take the couch and she can sleep in the bed

Teddy and amy still share a bed…i mean it’s not like they cuddled before anyway…

· Everyone in the villa gives jake crap for his bedhead and amy crap for her old lady glasses

Jake def makes the glasses/penis comment and iain makes some snarky narrator remark

· Jake and Amy kinda dance around each other most of the day and then they hear Gina announce “I GOT A TEEEEEXXXXXT”

“Islanders, tonight there will be a recoupling. The girls will choose their partner. The remaining boy with be dumped from the villa immediately. #choosewisely”

Everyone in the villa immediately turns to jake and amy

· After a proper gassing up from gina, rosa, and charles jake finally goes over to amy

“Hey ames, can we go for a chat?”

Amy tucks her hair behind her ears as she gets up heheheh

Gina, rosa and charles don’t even try to hide the fact that they’re watching the entire conversation unfold from their spot on the day bed

· They go to the hanging couch (the best spot in the villa in my humble opinion) and jake finally tells her how he feels!!!!

“Look, i dont wanna be a jerk…I know you’re coupled up with teddy and it’s going really well. It’s just…”

“What’s going on?”

“I don’t know what’s going to happen at this recoupling and I think I’d be pissed with myself if I didn’t say this. I kinda wish something could happen between us…romantic stylez. And i know it probably will never happen because you’re happy in your couple but…”

· Before either of them can say anything more they’re cut off by terry announcing he has a text!!!

“Islanders, it is now time for the recoupling. Whichever boy is not chosen to recouple will be dumped from the villa immediately.”

Jake and amy just kinda stare at each other for a few seconds before amy finally gets up wordlessly and walks to the bonfire

· In classic love island fashion, amy has to choose her boy last, so it’s down to just teddy and jake. Whoever she doesn’t pick has to leave the villa.

Everyone, e v e r y o n e is visibly stressed. Charles is full on crying, and rosa is clutching pimento’s hand so hard it may or may not break by the end of the night

Teddy, god bless him, looks completely at ease. Jake keeps scratching the back of his neck and wringing his hands

· Finally amy takes a deep breath.  

“I chose this boy because…he makes me laugh. He’s a good friend, and he knows me better than anyone in the villa. Also – he’s probably gonna make fun of me for saying this – but he’s, like, really fit. I don’t know, I just would be so, so sad if he left the villa. And I want to give us a chance to go beyond friends.”

At this point the camera flips to jake who is giving her the smallest, sweetest smile and then to teddy who’s finally catching on.

“The boy I choose is…”

*dramatic-ass pause*

“Jake.”

· THE MUSIC SWELLS. JAKE WALKS OVER TO HER AND GIVES HER THE SWEETEST KISS. EVERYONE CRIES, EVEN ROSA.

Amy smiles as they pull apart.

“So, a lot of change around here, huh?”

He kisses her again. :’)

· The first night they sleep together they don’t kiss but they do spoon

Jake is almost always the little spoon and at first he gets crap from the other boys when they see this but he doesn’t care because being the little spoon is the best!!!!! He gets to wake up in amys arms like hellooooo

· Amy and jake are surprisingly affectionate??? Not in a weird way like charles and genevieve but amy just always seems to have a hand on his knee or what have you

For the record, amy was NEVER like that with teddy.

· Amy has a STRICT no-sex rule in the bedroom bc hello they are on national television her abuela could be watching!!!! + it would be super weird to do bits in the same room as charles…of course jake completely and utterly respects this and doesn’t even question it. If he has to go 6 weeks without sex even though he’s sharing a bed every night with the hottest girl he’s ever seen then so be it

· UNTIL it’s announced via text that The Hideaway (a private area/bedroom in the villa away from everyone else but still not the cameras Obviously this is love island) is open and the islanders get to choose a couple to stay there for the night. Having had to put up with their blossoming love and flirting 24 fucking 7 everyone else unanimously screams “jake and amy!!!! It has to be Jake and amy!!!!” and they just grin at each other

· The bed is so big and covered in rose petals & there happens to be a very handy bowl of condoms on the bedside table…at first they just talk about how nice it is to get some alone time and just hang out….which of course turns to kissing and then making out and then………under the covers they go (for those who don’t actually watch the show it’s literally like seeing sims wahooing but irl) (maybe we see a cheeky black and white shot of amy moaning)

· The next morning amy wakes up with the BIGGEST grin on her face and her hair all mussed, and she kisses jake awake “morning, baby” and he immediately pulls her into him and kisses her back

Jake’s talking head: “Last night? Last night was….it was amazing. Stupid good. That’s all I’m going to say.” our boy!!! Cannot!!! Stop smiling!!!!

· When they get back to the main villa they naturally segregate into boys and girls and the guys immediately ask jake “how was your night? Did you get any??” “oh my god, did you FRENCH???” “charles, no nothing happened”

· (in true Jamie style) he goes over to the day beds with amy and lets her cuddle into his chest and asks if it’s okay if he tells people what happened in the hideaway - he’s a gentleman!!! And he’s always going to respect her boundaries!! Amy tells him of course that’s okay, people are going to find out anyway and that it’s really sweet of him to check with her…and she laughs to herself when jake goes back over to the boys and she hears charles scream “I KNEW YOU WERE GLOWING”

· Rosa and Gina casually-but-not-so-subtly ask amy “so did you shag? Tell us everything” and amy just smiles….rosa and gina look at each other like noice, they’re so proud of her!!

Rosa later confides in amy “the amy i knew two weeks ago would nEver have done that with Teddy…i’m happy for you, santiago”

· CASA AMOR. the boys have to sneak out of the villa (jake goes into full on spy mode rolling around on the carpet) and get shipped off to a separate one that has 6 new girls in it and then 6 new boys enter the old villa to shake things up (reality television at its absolute FINEST YALL)…the producers’ twist? Fucking Constantine Kane gets put in the girls’ villa - amy’s eyes widen out of their sockets when she sees her most random ex enter. He of course is still so in love with her, or so he claims, and tells her how excited he is to couple up with her and share a bed and win her over and get married and have babies with her. Amy naturally is like no way jose and spends the entire time trying to avoid him (with the help of rosa) hiding everywhere she can fit and sleeping on the sofa at night (and, also naturally, she worries that Sophia 2.0 is with jake right now and she realises it kind of makes her sick to her stomach thinking about jake kissing another girl….maybe she likes him even more than she thought she did?)

· Just to mess with him, jake gets a text that has a photo of constantine trying to kiss amy and poor bb gets beside himself with worry…

Jake’s talking head: “I mean Amy can do whatever she wants, I’m obviously not going to stop her from being with another person - we’ve only known each other for what a month…” [he looks away from the camera and rubs his face with his hand] “But I really like her…so it just kinda…sucks.”

· OBVIOUSLY he has nothing to worry about and his face!!!!!!!!! Just lights up in relief!!!!! When amy walks back into the og villa during the Most Dramatic recoupling without bringing back anyone from the new one!!! She rushes over to him and cups his face with her hands and kisses him hard in front of everyone

· “I missed you, you know” “I missed you too” “Hey I have to ask…that guy you were with-” “You saw that?” “I got sent a photo…nothing…nothing happened between you, right?” “Yes - I mean no. Things did happen. In the past, on the outside. But I was young and I regret it so much - i tried to avoid him the entire time in casa amor. Honestly all I could think about was how much i wanted to be hanging out with you” “really?”  she moves to sit on his lap, wraps her arms around his next and kisses his cheek.  “the only person i want to be in this villa with is you” “i could say the same thing about you, ames” and then they get straight back to kissing :’)))

Iain: “nope, that’s definitely not a tear in my eye”

· One morning the islanders wake up to the delightful sound of babies screaming bc you guessed it!! baby challenge!!! (i.e. towards the end of the summer, the couples are given plastic babies and have to look after them for a day)

Amy is SO excited and throws the covers off running towards the cribs (after Charles and Genevieve) screaming - “We made a baby! Oh my god I have a baby!” leaving a half-awake dazed and confused jake still in bed

Jake & Rosa eventually bother getting out of their respective beds, definitely not as excited as the rest of the villa, but jake will admit his heart flutters a little seeing amy cradling a plastic baby to her chest so attentively

“Jake! Look we have a little girl!” “awww she looks just like you, Ames” “we have to name her” “Nakatomi” jake answers immediately, to which amy whines “jaaaake take it seriously! I’m not having a daughter called Nakatomi” “fine, i’ll compromise on Holly”

At first jake is a little apprehensive about having this new Responsibility (and he’s not about to blurt out all his dad issues on national television) and so he keeps his distance and mainly lets amy take care of their new offspring in the morning (“amessss why does it keep crying?” “i cannot Believe you would call our baby it, peralta!”) That is until the girls get sent off on a Mommy’s Lunch, turning the villa into daddy day care….

He knows how much Amy loves this little baby so he decides he is going to take this seriously and it doesn’t take long for him to realise that??? This is kinda fun??? He takes Holly on strolls in her buggy around the villa and plays with her in the pool with charles and terry and (tugging at the public’s heart) sits on a day bed with her and tells her just how awesome her mummy is

When amy gets back, her heart completely MELTS at the sight of her new bf with their little one……and they end up talking about how they’re the best parents in the entire villa nay the world (“our kid is WAY cuter than terry and sharon’s” “oh for SURE”) & then of course win the challenge

· For the Final Date extravaganza they go on a helicopter ride and ngl even Amy is beside herself with excitement…they’ve spent the last 6 weeks talking about their favourite action films etc. and now it’s like they’re in one! They definitely act like literal children/real cops pretending they’re on a manhunt for a fugitive (instead of appreciating the view like normal people)

They get treated to a romantic dinner afterwards followed by dancing with live musicians and that’s when they FINALLY say those 3 words to each other….(well 5 if you count “noice, smort”)

· AND THE WINNER IS…..jake and amy obviously this is a b99 x love island au :’) they’re so sweet and humble about it & amy makes jake promise on live national television that he’s not just going to spend all their cash prize on sneakers. They each end up with over a million followers on their instagrams, where they regularly post photos of each other on date night/ at premieres/ evenings at home…and also video sagas of them pranking each other which starts with amy pieing jake’s face unexpectedly and escalates into fake proposals and frozen shoes….and maybe some *light* tasering

· Of course they end up getting married for realz and a baby announcement follows not too long after that…they are utterly the nation’s sweethearts (and Charles keeps doing interviews to the press saying he’s the one who brought them together in the villa from the beginning)

Summary: Nova goes to Hogwarts

Nova looked up at the scarlet train her mouth hanging open in awe. This was it, she was going to Hogwarts she jumped excitedly in place then turned to face her parents… her parents. It slowly dawned on her that she was going to be away from her parents until Christmas. No coming home and doing her homework as her father went through reports. No baking with her mother on the weekends to have bread for the week.

“Nova honey what’s wrong?” Her mother asked as she kneeled down to be at eye level with her.

Nova simply hugged her mother tightly enjoying the feeling of having her mother hugging her back.

“I’m gonna miss you.” Nova mumbled as she tucked her head into the crook of her neck.

“I’m gonna miss you too starlight. But you will have so much fun, and you can write to us everyday with your new owl.” Her mother said pulling away and they both glanced at the Golden barn owl who was perched on his cage looking at everyone passing by curiously.

“And you will come home for Christmas.” Her father said kneeling down also and Nova quickly hugged him. “And before you know it the school year will be done and you will be home for the summer.”

Nova nodded as she hugged her father tightly, then pulled away and fixed her skirt.

“Now go our you’ll miss your train.” Her father whispered as he kissed her forehead. “I love you stardust.”

“I love you too papa.” Nova blinked, she didn’t want to cry.

She grabbed her trolley and wheeled it towards the train. It took her awhile to find an apartment but she finally found one that was empty, at least for now. She placed Apollo on one of the seat cushions and managed to get her clothes and school supplies trunk put away but she underestimated the weight of her book trunk and was having a bit of trouble. She glanced around as she took her wand out of the sleeve of her sweatshirt.

“Wingardium leviosa.” She whispered pointing her wand at the trunk and smiled as it began to hover.

“You know you’re not allowed to do magic outside of Hogwarts.” A voice said behind Nova making her squeak and lose her concentration, the trunk came crashing down and burst open.

She turned around and saw a boy who was looking very worried at the trunk that had crashed and spilled the books out. His grey eyes looked at her apologetically but blinked a little startled.

“You’re eyes are two different colors.” He stayed a little dumbstruck.

“Yes and? Didn’t your parents teach you it’s rude to sneak up on people.” Nova huffed as she kneeled down and began picking up her books.

“Sorry.” The boy said helping her in getting her books. “I was just trying to avoid you getting in trouble.”

“Technically the rule isn’t you can’t do magic outside of Hogwarts it’s you can’t do magic in front of muggles.” Nova countered his question that interrupted her. “And I’m pretty sure you’re not a muggle.”

The boy smiled as he handed her a small pile of her books. “No I’m not a muggle but you still could have just asked for help.”

“I was doing perfectly well till you scared me.” Nova said as she closed her trunk and got up. “But now that you are here can you help me?”

The boy nodded and together they hauled the trunk up and set it in place.

“So what’s your name?” The boy asked.

“Nova.” She replied holding her hand out. “And yours?”

“Cedric.” He smiled shaking her hand. “Do you mind if I sit here too?”

Nova shrugged she figured she wasn’t going to get any privacy anyways. Cedric put his things away as Nova sat down giving Apollo a small scratch on his head through the cage.

“Is this your second year at Hogwarts?” Cedric asked as he sat down.

“No.” Nova responded as she grabbed her bag and pulled out a book, but her response made Cedric frown.

“Then how were you able to do that spell?” He asked. “This can’t possibly be your first year.”

“In a way it is.” Nova said as she looked up at Cedric. “My mother had me homeschooled my first year. This is my second year but my first year at Hogwarts.”

“Homeschooled?”

“Yes, I had a professor come to my house and teach me the subject I would normally learn in my first year.”

“Why were you homeschooled?” Cedric asked looking at her curiously.

“My mother wanted me to go to muggle school one last year.”

“You’re a muggle?”

“Part.”

“You mean half.”

“No I mean part. The only muggle in my family is my Grandfather Jacob, my mother is a squib.”

“Oh I’m sorry to hear that.”

“Don’t be, my mother is very happy with her life she’s a very well respected doctor.”

“A what?”

Nova paused trying to think of what would be the equivalent in the wizard world.

“Healer. A muggle healer.” Nova stated with a nod as she opened her bag.

“What about your father?” He asked.

“He’s an auror.” Nova said as she pulled out her Walkman. “Now I was hoping to listen to some music before we got to Hogwarts do you have anymore questions?”

“Just one, what’s that?” He asked pointing to the device in her hands.

“It’s a Walkman.”

“It doesn’t look like a person.” Cedric said and Nova giggled making him blink, it was a cute giggle.

“It’s not suppose to look like a person. It’s called a Walkman because you can listen to music wherever you go.” Nova explained as she unraveled her headphones. “The only downside is that I can’t play this at Hogwarts the magical interference won't let it work properly once we get there.”

Nova smiled at Cedric as she plugged the headphones in and pressed play. The door to their compartment opened and a couple of boys and a girl poked their heads in, they seemed to have been looking for Cedric because they began talking to him. Nova happily tuned them out as she listened to her music and looked through her book.

After sometime she felt a tap against her book, looking up she glanced at Cedric before taking off her headphones.

“Yes?” She asked.

“Do you want something from the trolley?” He asked glancing over at the door where an elderly woman stood with a cart full of treats.

“Oh yes.” Nova said as she dug through her bag. “Excuse me. I’ll have a chocolate frog, a cauldron cake, and two pumpkin pasties.”

Suddenly Apollo hooted and Nova sighed.

“Make that four pumpkin pasties.” The woman smiled as she gave Nova her things.

“You spoiled little thing.” Nova smiled as she gave Apollo a piece of the pumpkin pastie.

“He’s beautiful.” The girl said smiling at the bird who was happily pecking at his pastie.

“Say thank you Apollo.” Nova said and the owl hooted.

“So Cedric says you were homeschooled your first year.” One of the boys said looking at Nova curiously.

“Did he now?” Nova asked raising an eyebrow at Cedric who was looking at her apologetically again.

“I didn’t want to disturb your reading and they were asking questions about you.” Cedric shrugged making Nova sigh.

“Yes I was homeschooled. My mother wanted me to take one more year of muggle classes.”

“So you’re muggle.” The other boy asked.

“Only part.” Nova clarified. “What about you? Are you pure, half, or muggle?”

“Oh well um.”

“I’m Jaimie, muggle.” The girl smiled warmly. “Those two are Lou and Sam they’re pure blood and dont mind them they just love asking questions about muggles. Love your Walkman by the way wish I had thought to bring mine.”

Nova relaxed a bit at Jaimes words and smiled.

“Thank you. It was a birthday gift from my grandfather.”

“So if this is the first time you are coming to Hogwarts then does that mean you don't belong to a house yet?” Sam asked and this time everyone stared at her very curiously.

“Um no. I’m suppose to meet up with Professor McGonagall so I can go through my sorting.”

“Oh I wonder what house you’ll be in.” Lou said and smiled. “Hope you’re in hufflepuff.”

“Lou.” Jaime scolded.

“Please with all the reading she just did bet shes a Ravenclaw.” Sam said.

“Sam.” This time it was Cedric who did the scolding. “It doesn’t matter what house you’re in. We’d be glad to have you as a friend.”

Nova nodded smiling as she gave Apollo his other pumpkin pastie and he hooted happily.

The rest of the train ride Nova and Jaime talked about music. Nova found it a bit funny that Jaime liked the disco music but promised to give it a chance when they got back to the muggle world. Nova frowned when the Walkman began to act up.

“We’re getting close.” Nova stated as she started packing up her things.

“Oh we need to change come on.” Jaime said as she took Novas hand and helped her find a place to change.

“Who’s Hagrid?” Nova asked as she finished straightening out her skirt.

“Oh he’s not hard to miss. He’s our gatekeeper and you’ll hear him shouting as soon as we get off. Why?”

“Oh, cause he’s the one who’s supposed to take me to McGonagall.” Nova explained as they walked back to their compartment.

“You behave.” Nova said to her bird who gave her hoot as if slightly offended.

She said goodbye to everyone when she got off and headed towards where she could hear Hagrid shouting. Jaime was right about one thing he was definitely not hard to miss. Hagrid towered over the sea of students the first years standing near him a little frightened.

“Hello Mr. Hagrid?” Nova said as she stood in front of him.

“Huh? Oh hello there, are yer a first year?” He asked as he looked down to see her.

“No, I’m Nova, you’re supposed to take me to see McGonagall.” Nova explained.

“Oh! Right yer the special student. Alright stay with me you’ll be going with the first years on the boats.” He smiled as he talked and Nova nodded.

Hagrid was very friendly and Nova listened as he rambled on about the school and his job there.

“So you help take care of the magical creatures?” Nova asked as she got into the boat.

“Yup I keep an eye out for the ones that live in the forest too.”

“Wow. That must be fun.”

“Yer a fan of magical creatures.”

“They are very useful for many things, even the ones that people don't quite understand or think are annoying. They just need to be studied better and not harmed just because they don't look friendly.” Nova said.

Hagrid chuckled and patted her so hard she almost flew out of the boat.

“Yer alright little one.”

Nova fixed her robe as she got off the boat and quickly followed Hagrid. She looked around at the castle, the last time she had been here she had seen the castle during the day. Now seeing it in the dark with all its lights on it seemed a bit daunting. She stayed close to Hagrid as they entered and went up the steps where an elderly looking woman stood waiting.

“Professor McGonagall this is Nova.” Hagrid said as he gently pushed her forward.

“Ah, yes Miss Vinci. You will go first during the ceremony and every head boy and girl has been informed about you so that they can show you to your place properly.” Professor McGonagall explained.

Nova nodded. “Thank you ma’am.”

“Right, follow me children.” Professor McGonagall ordered and everyone began to follow her into the dinning hall.

Nova spotted Dumbledore sitting at the center where all the professors were. The small group of students paused and then Professor McGonagall brought out an old hat and small stool. When she placed the hat on the stool it began to sing.

If Nova has to be honest she tuned out most of what it said something about the different houses and what they mean. Her eyes wandered around the room looking at the floating candles and banners of all the houses, this was where she’ll be staying at for the school year. She slightly registered the hat stop singing and Dumbledore standing to give a speech that again she didn’t really quite hear.

“Now before we begin our normal sorting ceremony we do have a late student. One who would have joined us last year but do to circumstances is just now coming to Hogwarts.” Dumbledore's words cut Nova out of her trance and she heard murmurs from all the students.

“Irina Vinci, Nova.” McGonagall called from her spot next to the stool now holding the hat.

Nova smoothed her hands over her robe again trying to keep her heart from leaping out of her chest. She wasn’t sure how fast she was walking the next thing she knew she was already sitting on the stool with Professor McGonagall lowering the hat on her head.

“Well now let's see here.” She heard a voice in her head and even though her father had told her this part it still made her jump a bit.

“I see I see you are a very loyal girl hmm make a nice Hufflepuff but no, no not quite. Very intelligent possible Ravenclaw, mm no there’s more. Much more oh yes I see you like to prove yourself, prove your worth, ah yes. SLYTHERIN.”

The hat was taken off and the far right side was thundering with applause and whoops. Nova stood up smoothing down her skirt one last time and smiling at her table as she made her way over. But right before she sat down she caught a quick glimpse of Cedric from the Hufflepuff table with a bit of sad look. She wasn’t able to ponder on it too much because she was soon swarmed by her house mates.

OPM s2e3 Live Blog

“The Hunt Begins”

Ok I had 3 screenshots leaked to me before seeing the episode, but only one of them was spoiler-y in that I wasn’t sure if we’d get that far in the episode. And of course not only did I not leave work early, but had to stay an hour late. So without further delay, I’m hoppin to it. Reminder, I’m watching each episode as someone who is caught up with both the manga and web comic.

Alright, off the bat we’re getting the Charanko expulsion over with. I wasn’t expecting that, but it makes sense- it’s a good hook to lead with and set up the Garou issue before actually getting into Garou destroying everyone.

BTW I am Still not over the opening theme- nope it still gets me both visually and musically. (I definitely was not listening to the song on repeat at work all day. nope. what kind of nerd would do that definitely not me hahaaaaaa)

I like that Charanko doesn’t bat an eye that The Worlds Strongest Man King is there, or Blizzard of Hell, he’s just like ‘ah they’re multiplying.’ Fuckin kek. Saitama oh sweetheart, “Silver Fang” may be cool but to us you’ll always be the One Punch Man oh dear my heart

oh OH YES Guys you have no idea how excited I am for this fight?? I know Tank Top Master isn’t really popular but like I’m a gym rat so I’ve got a soft spot for him and Superalloy. Guys, in the databook his favorite things are chicken breasts and protein. Also I mean hes actually a decent guy too, but----- Anyway, wasn’t too hard finding Garou, was it Charanko?

Oh, oh right. Let me clarify I’m excited to see TTM get some screen time. Also to watch trash son (aka Garou) kick some ass. I’m, I’m not excited about him kicking Mumen’s ass specifically. This is gonna hurt.

I must say, watching Garou fight otherwise is an absolute joy. The rest of this scene was so dynamic. I loved the way just glided through everyone and bounced around so fluidly. Keeping the water stream fist throughout it was also visually really pleasing. I need more. Give me more Garou fights, this is AMAZING. And that put us about half way through the episode like I predicted, which means I have no idea at what scene the episode will end.

First of all, I would like to apologize to both of you for this late response. Although I said I would address this after finals, I got sidetracked by family obligations, and couldn’t really get together enough energy to look through these sources and do research until now. Hopefully you two still see this answer. I am compiling your messages and answering both of you at the same time due to the similarity in topic.

Before I get started on talking about TV regulations, I wish to clarify (especially for those who are not aware of what I’ve already written on yoi) that I do not consider yoi bait, due to queerbaiting being a US/UK concept. In my opinion, the term simply does not make sense in Japan–MAPPA was never trying to attract LGBT viewers to yoi, their material was always well in line with the light BL/shoujo demographic. My past criticism about yoi was focused on its overblown reception among international anime viewers; people were acting like yoi was going to revolutionize all Japanese media in regards to depictions of lgbt people, as if yoi was the first show to have men in love, as if Japanese lgbt people and organizations have not already been fighting this fight for years… and frankly it just annoyed me on how much people misunderstood and oversimplified the situation in Japan. Whatever your views on yoi are, I think most can agree that there’s a real disconnect happening when the only articles talking about how revolutionary yoi is were from western/international websites, and Japanese sites, including lgbt sites, had nothing.  

Hence, despite having voiced my dissatisfactions towards Kubo and the yoi staff before on my blog, my main beef with yoi has always been more about its reception, the international fandom and their activity. 

But I digress– the discussion regarding TV regulations goes back to my post “Yuri on Ice, anime ratings, and censorship”. I wrote this post on Nov 20, 2016–so not long after episode 7 had been released–and in this post I put forward arguments refuting the idea that “the YOI staff censored the kiss either because they didn’t want to change their rating or their genre, or to avoid government censorship laws.” While I still stand by this idea (because ratings and genres really don’t work the same way in Japan as they do in the US, and there are no government censorship laws that apply here) I also see that, after doing some more research, there were other factors that I failed to take into consideration, namely: 

While there are no government laws or agencies that censor depictions of homosexuality in media (as there are in China), that doesn’t mean people/companies in Japan don’t exercise other forms of censorship, such as:

Corporate censorship: the sanctioning of speech by spokespersons, employees, and business associates by threat of monetary loss, loss of employment, or loss of access to the marketplace. 

Self-censorship: the act of censoring or classifying one’s own work of media. Usually done out of fear of, or deference to, the sensibilities or preferences of others (Wikipedia).

What I’m hinting towards is that, basically, either: 

Broadcasting Stations, while not having legal regulations, may pressure Anime Studios to change their content and/or

Studios themselves might be inclined to change their content in order to not conflict with Broadcasters’ perceived preferences or to better market their anime to certain Broadcasters. 

This is actually an idea that I brought up in “Yuri on Ice, anime ratings, and censorship”, but did not fully develop– it would make sense if different broadcasting stations had different “preferences” in place regarding what content they prefer in the anime they broadcast, depending on their reach, image, and perceived audience. For example, stations such as AT-X and BS11, which are known for broadcasting a good deal of “shinya anime” (if you do not know what this term means please refer back to my post linked above), are much more likely to screen niche anime with explicit content than say, stations like TBS, whose anime content consists of those targeted to either children or shounen manga readers, a much wider demographic. 

There is a possibility that these “preferences” are formalized in the shape of outlined standards. The JBA (The Japan Commercial Broadcasters Association), a non-profit incorporated association whose membership consists of 206 commercial broadcasters in Japan, focuses on upholding fundamental standards for commercial broadcasters, as well as on improving broadcasting ethics throughout the industry. Their standards, which are detailed in this document, “ JBA Broadcasting Standards”, are then used as a guideline for individual broadcasting stations to outline their own standards. However, since I am unable to find any individual broadcaster’s standards on the internet, this is mostly speculation, although the document itself is an interesting read and gives an idea of the various social pressures more mainstream broadcasters might face. For example, a couple of the outlined standards include: 

26. Public morals shall be respected. Any possibility of arousing favorable feelings toward speech or action that is against common social practice, or desire to imitate such speech or action, shall be avoided.

77. When presenting sexual minorities, full consideration shall be given to the human rights of people who belong to said minorities.

A bit conflicting, given that a portion of Japanese people still think same-sex relationships go against public morals... 

So, with all this being said, do I think it’s possible that the yoi staff was pressured into making the kiss scene what it was, not by any laws, but by social pressures translated into Broadcasters’ standards, a combination of corporate and self censorship? Yes, I do. Although TV Asahi did broadcast Shin Sekai Yori, an anime with same-sex relationships and kiss scenes, Shin Sekai Yori is an outlier among TV Asahi’s anime content. The majority of their programs (and BS Asahi’s, another station that broadcast yoi) are targeted towards a wider demographic, so I can see them having stricter standards. 

Having come to this conclusion, I wish to apologize for my old post; although the information included there is accurate, I failed to consider the factors and possibilities outlined above, thus not giving readers the full picture. 

Does this change my opinion about yoi? It changes my opinion that Kubo and Yamamoto could’ve included the kiss if they wanted to, but it doesn’t change the rest of my criticisms about yoi and its reception. 

Oh and before I forget–

Regarding Hitorijime~My Hero: I am not familiar with this anime, but whichever way the kiss scenes were handled does not prove anything in regards to TV Asahi’s regulations, because the anime was not broadcast by TV Asahi in the first place. A quick look at the anime’s main website (http://hitorijime-myhero.com/onair/) shows that it was broadcast by AT-X, Tokyo MX, and BS日テレ–not by TV Asahi.

Furthermore, while Hitorijime may have only had one kiss scene, BL/GL anime such as Super Lovers 2 and NTR~Netsuzou Trap showed multiple kiss scenes, and non-BL/GL anime like Kuzu no Honkai and Koi to Uso each had one as well. (All mentioned anime were broadcast in 2017.)

But if anything, this lends more weight to my theory that different broadcasters simply have different standards, and anime studios self-censor their content in order to market to certain broadcasters. Hitorijime, Super Lovers 2, and NTR~Netsuzou Trap were all broadcast by AT-X (shinya anime) and Tokyo MX (shinya anime), but only Hitorijime was broadcast by BS日テレ (wider demographic), while Super Lovers 2 and NTR were broadcast by BS11 (shinya anime). So perhaps BS日テレ is stricter? Makes sense to me.

History is written by the winners, or so goes the old aphorism.

You know why it rings true?

Because at the end of a lot of wars the victors are the only ones left standing to write it.

You can’t embellish if you’re dead and gone, and if you’ve won you don’t have to.

Like most aphorisms it’s both partly true and grossly simplistic, and in Scottish football it’s been turned on its head because the victors didn’t write the history; a bunch of charlatans wrote an alternative version of it and, shamefully, the media tried to pass that off as truth.

I have long argued that we – the victors, the fans, the people who won some measure of justice, however small, for the sins at Ibrox – would eventually write the history, and I still believe that, firmly, and fully. We’re the only ones who can.

I hope that in the fullness of time all of the bloggers will write their own books about this period; I know I’ve got one in me and the desire to write it.

I’m not daunted by the task but by the nagging feeling that the story isn’t finished yet, that there’s one, perhaps more than one, major denouement still to come. That we might be only part of the way through this. I want to see how the story ends first.

That’s a personal taste.

There are a handful of books – and I mean a small handful – about where we are right now and how we got here, and they are important books. Every Celtic fan should be reading those books, but more important than that is that every Celtic fan should be trying to get every non-Celtic fan they know to read them too.

Phil wrote the first of them, of course, with Downfall and it is, like Stephen’s book, a sobering look at how football in this country was completely failed by the governing bodies and the media. Phil has the advantage of being a professional journalist, and that echoes in his work.

Paul Larkin has produced some of the most noteworthy books, and they are special and required reading for everyone who wants to learn about this stuff.

Paul is not a professional journalist in the way Phil is, but he is an accomplished author and documentary maker.

Paul puts a lot of himself into his books and writes them unashamedly from a Celtic perspective. He writes for his own audience without equivocation. He will never write a coffee table book for the chattering classes … he writes for us and he does it exceptionally well.

Pat Anderson needs to be mentioned here; how can he not be?

He is probably the most prolific of all the authors in our circle who writes about these events, and he does so brilliantly, with irreverence and great humour. But his books are not supposed to be read as serious histories, although an awful lot of work and research goes into each one.

Stephen is a Celtic fan, but his book is written as a serious history, as a serious journalistic examination of these matters and that requires that a writer leave his personal feelings out of the story and simply records the facts and the events as they happened, with a little backstory and supporting information to provide context.

What I’m saying is that Stephen’s book is a genuine effort to present this story, and the facts about what happened here, to a mainstream audience out-with the confines of just the Celtic support … and this is what makes his book, and the one Phil wrote before him, so dangerous and different.

This is why there has been a backlash against it.

There are people who want the alternative version of this history to prevail, the one that endorses the Victim and Survival lies.

The one that says Rangers survived and was then brutalised and beaten down by a conspiracy of people who hate them.

This bears no resemblance whatsoever to what actually took place; they weren’t victims. Their club lied and cheated for over a decade. They had concealed registration documents. They had spent money they didn’t have. They had evaded tax and in the end decided to simply stop paying it.

Whyte had intended to put the club into administration and then find a way to dump all the debts, football, social, personal and business, and emerge on the other side “cleansed” as if that’s a word that belongs anywhere near a discussion about such a scenario.

And our governing body, who knew about it four months before Whyte put the first part of that plan into effect, had every intention of helping him do it. Was it even legal? The club was trading whilst insolvent and the SFA knew all about it. Neil Doncaster went on television at one point and said that football clubs using administration and pre-pack insolvency to dump debt and carry on regardless was part and parcel of the football business … a disgraceful suggestion.

When people get in a flap because sponsorship deals are hard to come by for Scottish football’s competitions, perhaps the reason is that the events of 2012 scorched its credibility and we’ve not yet fully recovered it. In addition, those diabolical words from Doncaster are still on the record and have never been retracted or even clarified.

Debt dumping is normal in football. Scottish football has no problem with it. When that’s the stated view of those actually running the game here then we’re a banana republic, and they wonder why we can’t attract serious investment into our national sport.

These are just some of the reasons why we can’t leave this shameful narrative on the record as the last word. It needs to be challenged and the truth put front and centre and the history of this thing presented as it happened and not merely as some wish it had.

Stephen has recently announced that mainstream outlets are not going to review the book. He says his publisher has been told they are worried about a backlash from the Peepul. That’s undoubtedly true, as Phil can attest.

A national newspaper was supposed to review Downfall, but under pressure changed their minds and attacked him instead … that’s how gutless our media actually is. So it’s not a great surprise to find out that Stephen’s book is causing the same palpitations in the newsrooms, and as I’ve said on this site before we are not their natural audience anyway.

Paul Larkin’s outstanding documentaries were finding a mass audience … but when he hired a Celtic Park suite to screen one of them not that long ago, the mainstream media attacked him and the club for giving him the space to do it.

Don’t ever forget this stuff.

Stephen’s book is already being attacked on Amazon, where people who haven’t bought it and who couldn’t get the past the first page even if they did, are leaving semi-literate one star reviews. Think about that for a minute; you have to be really disengaged from reality to attack someone on the grounds of their literary merit in an incoherent, misspelled rant … yet there they are, the Peepul at their finest, proving that it really is about the schools after all.

But think about the damage those reviews can do to the idea of breaking that book out and getting in front of those whose “understanding” of what took place here is built around the version the media chose to sell back in 2012. In order that the two big lies be challenged properly we all need to find the widest possible audience … and Stephen’s book, one of the very few historical records, one of the very few publications grounded in the truth, is being held back.

Don’t ever think that’s just out of fear.

Journalists in Scotland are a pretty supine bunch and we know that for a fact already, but don’t believe for one minute that this is why Stephen’s book can’t find a mainstream title willing to at least give it a proper look. Fear is the fig-leaf the media would put up to cover what it’s really concerned about.

The trouble our press has with that book is that it challenges their own narrative, their own version of events.

This is about protecting their turf, and in doing so protecting the lies.

They do not want to acknowledge past mistakes or especially that they are still making them even now.

But more than that, this book, as with Phil’s, and with Paul’s books and documentaries, and all the others which come after them, represents a clear and present danger to the alternative history that our media has relentlessly promoted for a full seven years.

This isn’t over yet. Those books and those films are still out there, and the audience for them is as large as it ever was. Alternative history never endures. Because sooner or later some inquisitive little sod comes along and starts to pick holes in it, and especially when there are different interpretations of what actually happened available to study.

And that’s why this book is really important; it’s important because whether or not it gets reviewed, whether or not it gets ratings and sales or wins awards and makes it so Stephen never has to put anything down on his CV again but the word “writer” … none of that is half as significant as the mere fact it exists at all, that it is out there waiting to be found … and that’s a victory in itself because I don’t believe the two big lies will hold up forever.

But in the meantime we owe it to Stephen, as we owe it to the others, to support his book and not only to buy it and leave our reviews so that we bury those ridiculous one star jokes, but to push that book – and Phil’s, and Paul’s and Pat’s – on everyone who thinks they know what really happened here. Because I suspect most of them don’t have a clue.

This time, the history that many “accept” wasn’t written by the winners.

Not yet anyway. But it will be.

I pay $187 a mth for car insurance & that's full coverage with $500 deduct. The reason I was told I'm paying that much was bc of a big wreck I had back in Aug 2010 and since it's coming up on 3 yrs and my premium expires in Aug I'm expecting my rates to go down a little. How much can Insurer charge me to SALVAGE my OWN CAR?!?!?!?

Some background first, i was hit from behind whilst stationary in traffic the other week by a works van. the damage was not too sever that i couldn't limp back home (sore and car bashed but still alive) got the other drivers details at the scene and reported the incident to my insurance company. As the accident was not my fault my insurer passed this to their dedicated Non-Fault (NF) accident claim company (i'll not name them at the moment) who in turn provided me with a hire car and collected my car to have it assessed for REPAIR. At no point was writing off the car mentioned. Then i got a call from the garage dealing with my car (NF appointed) a week later telling me of the damage and repair value and that the engineers working for the NF, different company again, were going to deem the car a write off, CAT D as i later found out. Now the fun part - the engineers have made an offer for settlement and to write off of my car, which is a good 500 below what is would cost to replace it with a like-for-like car in my local area (replace cost circa 2.8k-3k) they are adamant they will not repair my car even though the repairs would cost LESS than the write off - because the repair is too close to the market value and they can make a killing on salvage apparently. so fighting this out at the moment. NOW FOR THE QUESTION: They have advised me that should i wish to keep the car after they write it off (which i want to avoid if at all possible) i can accept the settlement and pay them a salvage fee to retain my car. This i understand as technically they buy my car when they write it off and then i have to buy it back. The problem is that they have a flat 30% !!! salvage fee which on their offer would almost negate me being able to get the repairs covered. What i really need to know is if anyone else has been in this position and if there is a maximum salvage fee they can charge - bearing in mind that this is my car to start with - and if there is any way i can make them drop this percentage. Forcing them to drop the percentage might not only let me repair the car after retaining but might also swing in favour of repair instead of write off if they cannot justify such a big payout for themselves. Any help here would be appreciated fast as i'm still bouncing between the parties here to get this resolved. In case your wondering the damage constitutes a bumper rear panel and a kink in the boot floor - VERY repairable.""
