The intense story of Mark "Chopper" Read, a legendary criminal who wrote his autobiography while serving a jail sentence in prison.

At times darkly comical, but mostly unsettling. It's not exactly a pleasant watch. But Chopper is a psychopath who's difficult to look away from. At least for 90 minutes.

I'd say it's Eric Bana's best performance. It's certainly his most disturbing. And probably not very well known outside Australia.

It might have had some tendencies to fail, but it allowed them to step up further, helping them to be more aggressive, thus they scored 13 more winners than the German pair (49 to 36). Furthermore, despite Koepfer/Hanfmann having a 100% break point conversion rate as a result of maximizing their second set chances, Bolelli/A. Vavassori created 6 opportunities to break as a result of the said aggression.

On the other hand, it appeared that each pair had their own service game strengths once again, with a tiny margin to differentiate them. Landing 80% of their first serves, Bolelli/A. Second seeds Rohan Bopanna/Matthew Ebden awaits, who earlier defeated Tomas Machac/Zhizhen Zhang (also a sleeper singles frequent pair judging by their similar performance to the German pair) 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(7), strengthening their position as the World No. 1 (including Bopanna, who is the oldest reigning number one in doubles currently). With everything considered, this should be a fun match with the pressure points being at stake once again, giving a likely emphasis to the net game. Who knows what they can do at this point!

let me just ramble about why this moment from y.oung r.oyals screams Dominik in particular for a sec: it gives me the biggest post-palace vibes, after he’s banished & his family loses the income. Dominik is angry & disappointed, mostly at himself, but also at everyone else (mind you: he wouldn’t know about any of Nikolai’s efforts then). All he wants is to make something right, to finally protect his family, the only thing he has left now. he feels responsible for getting them into this situation and he desperately wants to help them get out of it. so this is when he decides to join the first army, to literally protect his family from enemies, but also because it seems like the only way to support them financially.

Definitely enjoys being cuddle and being the little spoon but also likes to be able to be the big spoon too

Listen this man has been burned, shot, buried ecc he has a shit ton of scars and is very self conscious about them

Not only because of how they look but because they remind him of really fucked up stuff

So maybe at first he won't be that open about you touching him in certain points of his body but after a while it will start to make him feel much better

He swears your touch is full of literal magic

Would love to be able to cook for you but he is a public danger with those cooking skills

He literally melts inside everytime you remind him you truly love him, that you're not getting tired of him, that you care about how he feels

He may not be one for really big demonstrations of love but he always remembers the little details

He remembers your favourite flower, he knows how you like your coffee or tea and if you don't like either he remembers your favourite drink

He knows your favourite book, movie and song

If you really pay attention he's quite romantic and attentive towards you

The good days with him are really fucking good but the bad ones are way over being just bad

He can be quite insensitive with how you feel, not because he doesn't cares tho

He never causes you harm on purpose is just that he gets really scared of getting attached

Definitely the type of person that gives you anything you say you like

You could be just complimenting a shirt of his but he just immediately gives it to you

He definitely compensates his bad traits with gifts

Weirdly enough loves to hold hands and to play with your fingers

And he loves the feeling of your hands caressing his face

If you wear any makeup he takes it off of you and would love for you to the same to him

When he's on a particularly rough mission the first thing he thinks of is you and most of the time that's what quite literally makes him survive

If you're not part of the 141 or the army in general he tries to keep you as far as possible from that part of his life

He has literal nightmares about you getting hurt because of his job

He loves to do normal everyday things with you cause it makes him feel he finally has some sort of normal and healthy life

Doesn't know how to sing but likes to sing along songs with you just because you make it look like fun

With time I genuinely think he would be more openly affectionate with you

Would tell you about his past on accident

Maybe you two were arguing about him being distant or careless when it comes to keep himself safe

One thing led to another and he said he was scared of you because he didn't want to be like his father and you told him he wasn't

Which led him to rant about how many similarities there are while unconsciously telling you about his trauma

He feels genuinely happy only when he's with you

Loves going on car dates cause he likes to drive and talk with you about anything and everything

He could literally spend hours listening to you and looking at you with that lovestruck puppy dog eyes gaze

Sometimes he looks at you while sleeping and gets somewhere between being happy and sad

Cause he loves you literally so much it hurts and he doesn't always know how to show it to you so it just stays inside him and it aches

Doesn't want photos of you on him but always carries something like a bracelet or a necklace that doesn't have any meaning to you but it does remind him of you

He has pretty severe panic attacks and night terrors and before you he used to spend days alone in his room scared af and on the edge until he didn't force himself to shut it all down

Now he trust you won't leave him and feels so much safer and so much better knowing that you're there with him

Like I said, with time he gets so much better at doing stuff for you

He always leaves you handwritten notes (his handwriting is horrible) if he wakes up before you

Always makes sure that if you're sick or don't feel too well or if in general something hurts you get checked and get the best treatment

He's a very selfless person in that sense, he would do anything for you

If you're having like major life issues or something really big he will take a time off from work to be with you

He did it for his family and he will do it for you too

Weirdly enough I think he likes going out and doing stuff outside with you

He especially likes to go movie hunting and has so many underground titles that are very good which he always get so excited to watch with you

In 2019, Sandra Hüller, one of Germany’s foremost stage and film actors, starred as Hamlet in a production at the Schauspielhaus Bochum, in the Ruhr Valley. For most performers, the part is challenge enough. But as Hüller prepared for the role with the theatre’s artistic director, Johan Simons, their discussions kept drifting to the character who animates Hamlet’s fantasies of revenge: his father’s ghost. In most stagings, ghastly makeup and lighting convey that the character is spectral. Could this lingering spirit be conjured without melodramatic clichés? Simons and Hüller agreed that it would be potent for the father to rise from within the son—speaking through him. As Simons recently described the conceit, “The father is so deep in your soul that you can’t get away from him—he is always in you.”

In the opening scene of the modern-dress, German-language production, Hüller stood alone onstage, her hands hanging uselessly by her sides, her eyes downcast. In a trembling near-whisper, she spoke lines that Shakespeare originally wrote for Hamlet’s friend Horatio: “If there be any good thing to be done, / That may to thee do ease and grace to me, / Speak to me.” Hüller smiled faintly to hold back tears, and her voice broke as she muttered, “You are here, you are here.”

When it came time for Hamlet’s encounter with the Ghost, an eerie chord resounded, and Hüller’s soft, breathy voice suddenly dropped an octave. She was no longer Hamlet, or not entirely. “Pity me not!” Hüller said, her eyes hardening and her voice quickening as she channelled the Ghost: “I am thy father’s spirit, / Doom’d for a certain term to walk the night, / And for the day confined to fast in fires, / Till the foul crimes done in my days of nature / Are burnt and purged away.” As Hüller played it, Hamlet wasn’t seeing a ghost; he was being possessed by it. Hüller’s previously gentle demeanor was displaced by lurching motion, and when the Ghost furiously commanded his son’s obedience—“List, list, O, list!” in Shakespeare’s original—she practically vomited up the words: “Hör, hör, o, hör! ”

The scene was as scary to watch as any horror movie, but it also felt profound: the sins of the old were literally infecting the bodies of the young, emphasizing the generational rot at the heart of the play. German critics hailed Hüller’s performance as revelatory—not just as an examination of character but as an exploration of the capacities of stage art. Der Spiegel said that witnessing Hüller wrestle with Hamlet and the Ghost simultaneously was like watching “an exorcism.”

Before the show opened, Hüller read an essay that portrayed “Hamlet” as a critique of the conventions of Renaissance revenge tragedy—and of the society from which those conventions emerged. “Shakespeare wrote the play at the edge of these times when blood revenge was still a thing,” she told me recently. “Shakespeare’s showing it one more time, but in the most absurd way—because everybody’s dead at the end. The play is saying, ‘This can’t be the way.’ ” At the Schauspielhaus Bochum, the climactic duel between Hamlet and Laertes swerved away from physical violence: neither combatant would make the first move. Instead, Hüller and Dominik Dos-Reis, the actor playing Laertes, hurled the phrase “fang an”—“start”—back and forth, battling not just each other but the demand for a bloody confrontation. The moment culminated, as it does in Shakespeare’s text, in an unexpected gesture of forgiveness. “They shake hands before they die, and say, ‘We don’t want to be like our fathers,’ ” Hüller said. “And, to me, that is something that applied to the world as it is now. That seemed to be something that I could identify with. Not to redo all the things that our ancestors have done before but to change them—to break the chain.”

Hüller liked that the production showed the effect of violence without actually showing violence. “When you show violence, I believe, it must have a strong form,” she told me. “You can’t treat it like any other sort of narrative in a story. It means something when you show a rape onstage, or when somebody gets slapped in the face onstage. It is crossing a line.” Her voice, usually soft, shifted to a more forceful register. “I have heard a lot of directors point out, ‘Yeah, but that’s what’s in the story,’ ” she continued. “I know what’s in the story. But still, I can decide, because I am the artist, what to show of it, and what not. I can decide how I want to shape the world that we are building onstage.”

The third set then became the peak of both pairs showing their peak capabilities, marked by numerous momentum swings and notable shots before it was ultimately decided by a match tie-breaker. It all started from Hanfmann's failed smash that forced a deuce, but they averted further damage by holding their service games to 1-1, followed by a cat-and-mouse net exchange that led them to hold their serves to 2-1.

Several games later, Koepfer's intuitive cross-court backhand winner once again closed that gap before the Italian pair held their service games to 4-3. The volleys also helped Bolelli/A. Vavassori recover from the 0-30 deficit as well as for them to hold 5-4, but Koepfer's serves turned out to be pressed once his backhand error caused an equalizer before a double fault created the Italian pair's match point. However, it turned out to be saved with a serve+1 for the German pair to hold 5-5 several points later thanks to Koepfer's cross-court backhand winner again that created his game point.

Ultimately, the match concluded with a match tie-break once Hanfmann/Koepfer held their service game with an ace. To commence the momentum swings, A. Vavassori's swift backhand return secured their mini-break to 2-1, but Hanfmann's forehand return ace equalized the point to 4-4. Two points later, a crucial volley from Bolelli secured their mini-break to 6-4 before another net exchange, which preceded Hanfmann's backhand error, resulted in Bolelli/A. Vavassori's service game hold to 7-5. Two points later, an additional volley from the Italian pair generated their match point (9-5) before the ultimate conversion by serving it out to take the third set 7-6(5), thus advancing Bolelli/A. Vavassori to the finals, with it being Bolelli's second Men's Doubles final (since 2015 with Fabio Fognini) and A. Vavassori's first.

Originally, Kreuger was going to be a big boat guy; Reaper would not have had to go through the different interrogations and Kreuger would have had a whole hyper-focus moment and know where the hell Ghost was exactly. However, this idea was scrapped due to the need to lengthen the chapter and add some more spark to the story.

K��nig's name was not originally Dominik, it was supposed to be Arthur. However, in German, it's not pronounced the same as in English. The wonderful @dudewithastick told me that "Dominik" sounded exactly the same as in English, and I figured it fit better!

König chews his mask, this was detailed in Chapter 27: Two Idiots, One Bed.

In the same chapter, the chapter song "Like the Dawn" by the Oh Hellos had a really specific part "You were the brightest shade / Of sun I had ever seen / Your skin was gilded with / The gold of the richest kings / And like the dawn / You woke the world inside of me" This was Reaper describing how she saw Simon that chapter (quite literally the main reason I had this song as the chapter song instead of something more upbeat for the action).

Reaper and Ghost, initially, weren't supposed to be kissing this early. In fact, Chapter 26 was supposed to wrap up much quicker and they were supposed to go on a few dates before they even considered kissing, but none of those ideas ended up fitting and I liked the idea of the stressful situation with smoooooooching!

Reaper and Ghost were also not supposed to have that soft moment in Chapter 17: Doctor, the Problem's in My Chest, initially Soap was supposed to get shot almost immediately.

The sequence of Simon coming up to Reaper's door in Chapter 22: Violence Isn't Always the Answer. Sometimes It's Soup. was originally supposed to be led by Eda bringing up how cute the two would look together and trying to set them up on a date.
