jeremiah is like the Q to xavier’s 007
mc definitely knows xavier is lumiere! she’s so funny she’s just baiting him to fess up!
the way mc feels about lumiere is adorable, you can’t change my mind she had the hugest crush on him!
OMG SHE PUT A TRACKER ON HIM I LOVE MC
MC CONNIVING WITH JEREMIAH IS SO FUNNY

ok xavier is OP and we all know it ugh he’s so cool
omg finally THE TRUTH IS REVEALED
I can’t they’re so soft hdjsbsksksk
they’re going to the hospital. I can only imagine zayne’s reaction seeing a beat up mc and xavier in the lumiere outfit
mc buying lumiere plushies and saying she’s gonna eat and sleep with them is so relatable
“how much merch did you buy?!” omg this man sounds exactly like my rl bf
mc is us for real
they’re so in love
xavier is jealous of himself, what a silly silly man
the face he makes when he thinks mc doesn’t like him is too much I wanna SQUEEZE HIM

Tsurune Audio Drama: A Shot of Color 1 Kuma’s Thoughts
They are so silly. (edit) The official links for episodes 1-5 are gone now since the first blu-ray's come out!
Note: made their narration lines while they play kuma in italics so they're easier to see.
Minato: Kuma! 'Morning! You're so fluffy, let's take a look at how your head smells, then your paw pads, and your ears too. We'll be heading out together today, okay? Seiya: "I am Kuma. Narumiya Minato from across the street seems rather spirited today." Minato: Huh, what's with that, Seiya? Seiya: "Minato-kun comes by my house every day, but that's only because he has a goal to fluff up my fur. While I'm thankful that he's here daily, I just can't help but think that there are other things he ought to be putting first." Minato: Kuma wouldn't say something like that. Seiya: You think so? Minato: Kuma loves me, I'm sure he doesn't mind no matter how much I fluff his fur. Right, boy? Seiya: "When he insists on it so strongly, as a dog all I can do is agree." Minato: Your version of Kuma is pretty sarcastic, Seiya... Seiya: I like to think he's got a surprisingly philosopher-like side to him. Let's head out already, we've got an appointment after all. Minato: "I'm Kuma, my owner's a bit of a troublesome person. But he does give me jerky so I let it slide." Seiya: Huh? So I'm bribing him? Minato: "My owner is pretty desperate for my affections." Seiya: Then what about Minato? Minato: "Minato's my friend. He plays with me so I love him. By the way my favorite games are fetch and play-tugging." Seiya: So it's good if I play with him then? Minato: "My job is to play, eat, and sleep." Seiya: How nice. I'm jealous of you, Kuma. Minato: "Huh? My owner seems sad, let's take a sniff at his scent." Seiya: You can tell just from that? Minato: "My sense of smell is 10,000 to 100,000,000 times stronger than a human's. I can tell if someone is sad, happy, or even what they're thinking just from the way they walk!" Seiya: Those two numbers couldn't be farther from each other. Minato: "My owner is very particular about things, that's why he tends to worry a lot." Seiya: I don't want to hear that from you Ku- rather, I don't want to hear that from you, Minato.
Minato: "Don't sweat the small stuff! Hm? That telephone pole over there looks nice... Hm, hm, I see." Seiya: And what did you find out? Minato: "There was a dog that scented this pole." Seiya: That's a given, you can tell just from looking. Minato: "I won't tell him the details." Seiya: Kuma wouldn't be saying such mean things either, you know. Minato: Urk... Yeah, you're right. Seiya: You broke character. Minato: I know. Come on, Kuma, let's go. What's wrong? Ah, don't sit yourself down like that... Seiya: "I am Kuma, and I'm feeling a strange presence." Minato: It isn't strange at all. Seiya: "When told that it isn't strange that just makes it more so." Minato: Seiya stop playing around and help me out here. Seiya: "I've decided that I won't be moving no matter what." Minato: We were so close too... Seiya, go lift Kuma a bit. Seiya: You help out too. Minato: And, up...! Seiya: So heavy! Minato: He was 45 kg when he was last weighed so... Seiya: Up you go! Minato: "Uwaaa I'm being carried! My-" Ah, no- "Is it alright to just ignore a dog's will like this?!" Seiya: Minato do you want to get Kuma to the vet or not?? Minato: Ah—of course I want him to go! Just bear with it a bit, okay, Kuma? Someone from a doctor's family can't be getting sick after all. Seiya: It'd be failing to practice what you preach, wouldn't it? Oh, he gave up and started walking again. Minato: "I didn't 'give up', I just thought to go to the hospital for your sake." Seiya: Right, of course. thank you, Kuma.

On your Seiya and Usagi post, you had a tag about an AU and YES I WANT TO HEAR please(:
YESSS *RUBS MY GAY LITTLE HANDS*
Click the read more because this post turned out longer than I expected but SEIUSA AU HERE WE GO
Okay, so this is basically just “The Sailor Starlights come to earth at the beginning of the series instead of in S4″ AU. In that specific scene/whatever, Fighter hears Sailor Moon screaming during her first fight and goes there to save her on pure instinct, not because she’s looking for the Silver Crystal or anything.
Honesty in my head I wouldn’t necessarily get rid of Mamoru or anything and the whole thing would kind of follow the same basic beats as the canon Sailor Moon story.
After the first fight, Fighter would get curious about Sailor Moon, and with time she’d end up aiding her too from time to time in her battles. Maybe she can even meet Tuxedo like that, when they both go to save SM at the first time or something safsadgs. Usagi would develop her crush on Tuxedo Mask while at the same time being curious about Fighter as well. Also during all this time Fighter is flirting with Sailor Moon because she’s a big lesbian and I love her, which would leave her feeling ~~confused~~.
Meanwhile, the Three Lights could serve as the standard “popular idol” like Minako does in PSSM, though I do like the idea of their popularity growing through the series exponentially.
Sometime after the senshi go meet Queen Serenity, Fighter would be aiding Sailor Moon and the others in a fight, but then get hurt herself. Then Maker and Healer can make their appearances, introducing the full group. They wouldn’t appear much more, but they would make it very clear that they’re not after the Silver Crystal so the senshi can have the whole “they’re not our allies, but they’re not our enemies either?” thing.
After the finale of S1, I like the idea of the Starlights noticing the senshi have forgotten about their identities and Figher being sad, but deciding that it’s better this way.
They could have a bigger part during the Makai Tree arc because that arc is great and I don’t care if it’s filler, where maybe they can sense something similar to Kakyuu’s light in the Makai Tree or something. Seiya and Usagi could meet while Mamoru is away as their civilian selves, and of course, Seiya falls for Usagi right away without knowing she’s Sailor Moon. Usagi however rejects him, because she’s still hoping Mamoru will return to her. When he does get his memories back and all that, Seiya stays friends with Usagi without telling her about his feelings.
And then during the Black Moon arc. Seiya could become a sort of emotional support for Usagi; she’s not sure why she likes talking to him so much, but it’s like he gets him in a way no one else does, not even her best friends. They grow especially close then Mamoru and Chibiusa go through the whole Black Lady thing. By this point, the Starlights are still focused on searching Kakyuu and only get involved in the other’s fight when they happen to be there or it’s something very serious, but they’ve become a sort of “sometime-allies we can rely on when something goes wrong”.
But then, of course, the Death Buster arc happens, and Uranus and Neptune are immediately wary of the Starlights since they’re from outside the solar system. They could go from suspecting them of working with the Death Busters, to attacking them on-sight. At the same time, Haruka meets Seiya while he’s hanging out with Usagi, and distrusts him right away. Partly because she feels “he’s just dangerous” and partly because let’s be honest she’s a bit mad that Seiya gets better reactions from Usagi than she does. Through this whole arc, Mamoru and Usagi begin to drift apart as she starts relying more on Seiya than on him, but she always denies the possibility of having romantic feelings for him, especially because she knows that Chibiusa existing at all depends on her staying with Mamoru. This however does nothing but strain their relationship even further.
Before the end of the arc, the Starlights would explain to all the senshi that they’re looking for Kakyuu, so Uranus and Neptune can stop trying to kill them for one second.
The Dead Moon arc is all about ChibiUsa and Usagi, and by this point, it’s undeniable that Usagi likes him too. Chibiusa could actually talk to Helios about this in her dreams, and how she’s actually scared Usagi will choose Seiya over Mamoru and either create a paradox or straight up kill her.
I would use Nehelenia’s motivation in this point as a way of separating the current Usagi (and by extension, Mamoru and everyone else) to their Silver Millenium selves. In Death Busters Uranus and Neptune are affected by their destiny in a positive way (they’re soulmates who can finally reunite, much like Serenity and Endymion) but in a negative way, when they think there’s no way to stop Saturn from destroying the planet. Now, when Usagi senses how much Nehelenia hated Serenity and her mother, she would feel sorry for her. Usagi had nothing to do with Nehelenia’s punishment and feels like Queen Serenity did a bad thing she can’t excuse. By creating this crack in the perfect image of the Silver Millenium, Usagi would begin to question if just because Serenity loved Endymion that means she should love Mamoru unconditionally.
And then of course, the Stars arc!! By this point, Usagi and Seiya are very close and both have feelings for the other, the Sol senshi trust the Starlights in varying degrees, and Usagi isn’t sure if she truly loves Mamoru and wants to fulfil her destiny. By the time Mamoru goes to America, he tells her they should “take a break” while they’re away so they can sort their feelings out.
I would also have Mamoru actually get to America instead of being kidnapped by Galaxia. Enjoy your education, boy!
Usagi tells Seiya rather quickly about this development, and they get even closer than before. Chibiusa hasn’t returned to the future yet, either because she senses it’s unstable or because she’s too worried about Mamoru and Usagi to leave them. She can tell Usagi that she knows how she feels about Seiya and that she’s broken up with Mamoru, and that she’s afraid of what that means for herself. For a while, Usagi starts avoiding Seiya because every time she thinks of him, she imagines Chibiusa disappearing and she can’t bear to choose between the two of them.
Then one day, Seiya gets targeted by one of Sailor Galaxia’s lackeys, and Usagi has no choice but to transform in front of him, revealing her secret identity. Seiya is surprised, but before he can say anything, Usagi runs away.
Seiya isn’t sure what to do, and she can’t even tell Taiki and Yaten about it because it would betray Usagi’s trust. One day, Seiya finds Usagi crying under the rain (or maybe the moonlight?) as she feels the weight of the whole world is in her shoulders. Seiya reaches out to Usagi, but she pushes him away when she thinks about hurting ChibiUsa. Seiya takes her hand anyways and holds it to his chest, telling her to look after her own happiness instead of the happiness of others for the first time. Usagi cries, and Seiya wipes her tears off. She then says “you were crying that time too at the jewel shop”, and Usagi isn’t sure what he means. Seiya transforms in front of her, showing her her true self.
This only makes Usagi confused for a second before she realizes that of course, it makes so much sense now. In a moment where she allows herself to think of her own happiness, she kisses Seiya.
She then rushes back home, suddenly afraid that she’s made Chibiusa disappear, but to her surprise she’s still there, alive and well. Chibiusa is suspicious of Usagi’s actions, but she leaves her be.
Shortly after this, before Seiya and Usagi have the chance to properly explore their relationship, the rest of the inner senshi have to transform in front of the Starlights (and vice-versa). By this point their relationship is much less tense than in the canon (both groups think of the other as allies, and now they’re united under the same enemy), and while Haruka still doesn’t like Seiya too much, she accepts her when Usagi defends her.
Eventually, the final battle comes, and in this version, I’d actually like Galaxia to be the villain not because Chaos corrupted her and she doesn’t have a Starseed, but because she became bitter and angry by the mere act of having to fight Chaos over and over again.
Turns out Sailor Galaxia isn’t just the most powerful Sailor Senshi of the universe; she’s the most powerful Sailor Senshi of all universes. Each time Chaos is born, she travels to that universe to destroy it. She’s been doing it since the dawn of time and is now so tired of her destiny that she just joins Chaos willingly.
So during the final battle (which honestly I’d leave almost the same because that battle is amazing), Usagi makes Galaxia see that she doesn’t need to keep on fighting just because someone decided it was her destiny. The existence of the Silver Crystal, the Golden Cyrstal and Kakyuu prove that Chaos can be fought against by other people, and that she’s already done more than enough. By realizing this, Galaxia lets go of Chaos, and by joining forces with Sailor Moon (and maybe with all senshi there present, even if it’s in spirit form), they manage to destroy Chaos.
I didn’t mention her anywhere else but ChibiChibi is here! And in this version, she actually is Sailor Cosmos, who’s awakened after Chaos disappears. She tells Usagi and Galaxia that Cosmos and Chaos will always be in battle, but that as long as people don’t let it consume her, peace will reign through all universes.
So the peace is restored, and the Starlights have to go back to Kakyuu. All senshi share a farewell in the school building, where Seiya struggles to let of Usagi and she has to try her best not to beg her to stay. Mamoru (who was captured during the final battle but is OK now) notices how Usagi hasn’t looked at him the way she looks at Seiya in years, and catches up very quickly. Seiya says that going back to restore her planet with Kakyuu is her duty, to which Usagi can’t say anything, because she feels she too has a duty to fulfil on earth.
But as they’re flying off into space, Yaten Taiki and Kakyuu tell Seiya that she’s already done more than enough. Seiya looks at them for a moment, when Usagi breaks down and cries, begging her to stay. Seiya leaves the space teleportation whatever the Starlights were using and jumps towards Usagi, who only barely manages to catch her. Everyone laughs and they kiss.
Later, they discuss whether or not this changes their destiny, since Chibiusa has never seen Seiya in the future. Setsuna could then explain that they may as well have created a new universe where nothing is set in stone, and that their future is now in their hands.
----
...And that’s that!! SORRY THAT WAS SO LONG asfshkgjhdfgksd. I know this fandom is very small so if anyone wants to idk expand on this idea or change anything or use it for something please go ahead!!! More seiusa content is always welcome. I hope you enjoyed this really long read!

Iruma-kun 10 - 12 | Shinchou Yuusha 9 - 12 (FINAL) | Dr Stone 22 - 24 (FINAL) | BnHA 72 - 74 | Stars Align 9 - 12 (FINAL) | No Guns Life 10 - 12 (FINAL)
Iruma-kun 10
That mascot is still around to annoy poor Kalego, huh? (LOL) I also noticed the demonstration demons have horns like oni.
Oh no! This means Azz-Azz is a prime target for Iruma!
(I was going to write something. Then I got so engrossed in the action, I forgot to…)
LOL, Sabro’s too heavy for Team A to lift!
Oh, Iruma’s hair isn’t tied anymore…
“…pruning this cactus.” – Does Eggie-sensei like plants?
Ooh, the first double-parter ever for this show, I think it is.
Shinchou Yuusha 9
Apparently ep 10 got delayed…*sigh*
LOL, thre’s product placement for a certain ice cream brand in this episode, huh?
Can we not with the boob grope???
*Rista takes care of Mash and Elulu* - Rista’s such a mom sometimes…
Stars Align 9
This one scene with Nao looks really blue…it’s almost unsettling.
Oh dear…I understand the sentiment of an inferiority complex all too well.
Dr Stone 22
Now we’re back to good ol’ science vs. survival of the fittest philosophy clash. Now, see, that’s the Dr Stone I like best!
Torricelli’s law.
Why is mica like baumkuchen? Probably because it has a lot of layers…
Wow, for WSJ – which encouraged fangirls all over the world to make yaoi/shonen ai ships – they sure tossed out the yaoi/shonen ai option real fast…
Skarn. I’ve never heard of it until now.
Magma, staring at the product of magma…LOL.
I…don’t get it. Even after watching the bit again, I don’t understand why Magma was trying to save Senku.
So…as is said for most WSJ series, the treasure was the friends we made along the way…LOL, what a way to acknowledge a trope.
Lemme guess…surprise birthday party? (Sorry, when I was reading up on Magma earlier, I saw that Magma helps with a birthday surprise for Senku and I found out what it was.)
I wonder if Rei is still up there at this point…? (Who’s Rei? You’ll find out if you read the Byakuya reboot…)
Well, “Rock Day” only works in Japanese. The language would’ve drifted over thousands of years so it shouldn’t work in the year 5731 (or whatever year Dr Stone is set).
Dr Stone 23
One episode until the end…but I’m away over Christmas, so I’ll have quite a bit to catch up on when I’m back. Update: I never did end up going away over Christmas.
Senku is much more of a trickster hero than an action hero. That’s been pretty obvious all the way through, but here it’s at its most obvious.
Oh, so Kaseki made the village bridge? Is that a correct assumption…? Update: I think the answer was yes from the manga.
How much chemistry does Gen know, anyway? Assuming he’s a humanities person because of psychology and his tricks, it must only be basic, right?
Thse intense stares…I’ve been reading JJBA: DiU lately, so I’m expecting an 80s-style “!!” to appear over someone’s head at this point, LOL.
Ooh, hardware. In fact, it looks like the inside of a computer…or, more relevant to this case, a phone.
So it’s not “rules are rules” anymore? Now Kinro’s changed his words to reflect his faith in Senku…hmm! Interesting! (Update: A quick google says Kinro is 18. Senku is about 18 (+ 3700 years). Plus, after they start dragging Ginro away, Kinro says his trademark line.)
Wouldn’t the coal smoke alert Tsukasa of the village’s location, though…? Then again, thanks to Homura and Hyouga, Tsukasa already knows their location…oops.
Rochelle salt.
I saw that one shot of the world from the 1st OP and I thought there was meant to be a post-credits segment…LOL, nope.
Dr Stone 24 (FINAL)
The “acquisition message” basically said “We didn’t (just) need one cell phone, (so) it was useless!” Notably, it uses the counter for large items (like computers) for the phone.
Having finished the Byakuya reboot now, I wanna cry every time I hear about the guy…
Oh! The eyecatch is a record!
Basically, what records do is that they recreate sounds by using vibrations created by the grooves of the disc. Sound is a set of vibrations.
“Astronauts are science elites…” – Except maybe Lillian Weinberg…
I like Shamil out of the guys from the Soyuz the most. He’s a cross between Tsukasa and Senku. Stoic yet skeptical, a voice of reason for Byakuya’s sillier outbursts.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the shield was made with CGI, tbh.
Byakuya’s humour here is betraying the emotional capacity of the scene…it’s gone from “100% tear-inducing” to “confusing”.
Please sing Tsubasa wo Kudasai, Lillian…*crosses fingers*
I didn’t get what I wanted, but oh well. This song is good too. (I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the record player was CGI too. It’s good CGI for sure.)
LOL, Puyo Puyo! Even Sherlock Holmes! Dragon Ball, Nintendo Switch, VR, Saiyuki! It’s like a treasure trove of references!
Normally the s2 announcement comes after the credits, so I was thrown for a loop when it was announced before the ED…anyways, this is the end of the s1 coverage. See you for s2!
BnHA 72
[no notes, sorry!]
Iruma-kun 11
Robin looks like Iruma…(this vaguely annoys me.)
I noticed Keroli (sp?) is in the back left, alone…that’s kinda sad.
Sabro is hella tall…even taller than Azz-kun, and that says something.
Ah…I love Eggie-sensei. He’s so funny!
Really? I thought Sullivan wrote them (the rules).
I wanna see an episode where Eggie-sensei can’t turn into his fuzzy form and has to do familiar activities with Iruma. That, or an episode where Eggie-sensei has some human parts and some familiar ones (although that would scare some little kids, I think…)
What a Machiavellian mindset Eggie-sensei has!
Iruma’s got wine, people! Underage drinking is a no-no! (partially joking)
Good on ya, Clara! Go kick those girls to the kerb!
The butterflies are so beautiful in this show!
So basically school clubs.
Hmm…it’s almost a Fordist approach. I mean, “freeing yourself up to do other things” is basically the entire ethos of that.
NGL 10
I was reading JJBA: DiU today and Colt seriously looks like a Jojo’s character…
“Your face is just like…”
N-No way! You mean, the Victor Mary’s wanted to see all along…is the other gunhead…?! Geesh, what a plot twist!
Stars Align 10
“We all play to win.” – That’s very Maki of you, Maki.
Shinjo/Oshimi???? That must be Ryoma…! By the way, what’s up with these Itsuse twins…?
Who’s Hatanooka? Update: That’s the team with Joy in it…and those fangirls who busted Mitsue up.
F*** it…Arashi, I wanna pummel you someday.
LOL, you can sell your temmates out with chanpuru, huh, Arashi?
Did Maki suggest something subliminally…?
*Maki and Toma run around* - LOL, this play is completely unorthodox, haha. I can tell even if I’m no expert.
Shinchou Yuusha 10
We’re back after another week’s break…
Come to think of it, how do fantasy worlds have concepts of “hours”?
LOL, how convenient it was that there just happened to be a dude needing healing walking past! (partially sarcastic, partially meaning it since the circumstances foreshadowed it)
“Talent”, eh? *stares at the camera, which is showing Rista’s boobs, with disapproval*
The Demon Spirit Orb is basically a monster cell from OPM 2, isn’t it…?
If Seiya came from our world…then I’m sorry, Wolks, but whoever told you is completely and utterly wrong. *gestures at all the conflicts around the world, including political turmoil*
“Are you calling…”
No Guns Life 11
Second-last ep!
Oh great…another yandere?(I read JJBA: DiU hardcover vol. 2 yesterday, so I’m still thinking about Yukako Yamagishi…)
There’s a convertible in the OP, though…I wonder if that will come into play later. Update: Even if it does come into play in the future, it doesn’t happen in ths cour.
Stars Align 11
It was like Joy was showing off to the camera…LOL.
Apparently, Joy’s name is a weird reading for yorokobi (happiness).
This feels like a final episode…
Hmm. I thought Yonex sponsored this. Turns out that’s a parody logo after all (or at least, here it’s a parody).
One of the Itsuse bros looks exactly like Maki, so it’s confusing…
I’m still confused as to why Shijo Minami’s shirts say nantei on them. The minami might be nan in another way of reading it, but…the shi can only be read kokorozashi otherwise and while the jou can be read many, many ways, tei isn’t one of them.
Ume = plum blossom, so that purple-pink colour really suits them.
BnHA 73
Eri’s name means, literally, “to break reason”.
This scene with the stars and the dancefloor…that’s new.
Iruma-kun 12
Sometims you forget this dork *points at Azz* is more powerful than Iruma and Clara…
You can see Clara and Iruma in the shot of Azz-kun.
The reason why I like calling Kalego “Eggie-sensei” is because he doesn’t like it!
I love how the narrator is even aware it’s been mentioned several times Iruma can’t decline requests.
New Magic is basically science…?
Oh, it would be hilarious if this character Iruma just bumped into and he (Iruma) would be in a Battler together…but I’ve read spoilers, so I know what Iruma will join…
Is this some kind of allegory for technology…?! *eyes sparkle* Yes, I want in! Iruma! Join this club!
Even this demon’s clip is a book! Amazing!
Clara! She dab! In a pot!
Come to think of it, in the basic premise, Iruma-kun (the show) is Kenja no Mago, right? The Wise Man’s Grandson…sort of.
Shinchou Yuusha 11
Almost at the end…I’ll sorely miss this show.
Is Tiana some former version of Rista…?
How old is Seiya again…? Update: Apparently he’s 17…and if he’s the same age as he used to be in this flashback, then…kinda squicky, no?
Stars Align 12 (FINAL)
I heard this show dropped the ball and that Nao’s mother got a rant, but otherwise I don’t quite know what happens here…so let’s finish what we started. Update: Nao’s mother’s rant was in a previous episode.
Oh hey! It’s that running thing Nao and Taiyo were doing…I think. (I don’t think I’ve grasped everyone’s names, even over 12 eps, so I had to check Taiyo’s name up.)
Oh, these gremlins…*sighs happily but also exasperatedly* No wonder this show took out a top 10 position for my 2019 list.
I’m worried now…there’s always a last minute thing to ruin an episode on this show.
I always thought Ryoma’s hair was pretty nice…(small LOL). That’s just my bias for bishonen showing though.
I’m…scared now…Maki’s dad must’ve come back and the red in the sky really sold that moment…
Maki…no!!!!!!!! Aw, f***, that’s the final seconds…geesh, way to end the series. If this were a 2 cour, I’d definitely watch the next one, but since I heard through ANN that this is all we have so far, really, the only thing I can do for a passion project is hope another cour gets funded and (maybe) purchase what I can to help out. Well, that’s it, folks, skedaddle out of here until next time.
No Guns Life 12 (FINAL)
This pendant reminds me of the mana compass I saw in Fate/Zero yesterday.
I bet Danny planted those footprints…or something like that. Update: Yup, he did.
Come to think of it, is Juzo still missing his arm from last time…?
“You weren’t my client, little lady.” – There’s one of two possible options here, I think: 1) the hands guy was or 2) Danny was.
I wonder, will the hand Extended ever become his (Juzo’s) left hand? Or will he get an Extension for it?
Wow, second huge end-of-season cliffhanger! Juzo got a new buddy, it seems…anyway, see you in spring!
Cautious Hero 12 (FINAL)
If the Valkyryja (sp?) isn’t magic…what is it???
That one guy lying on the side of the fountain, looking all drunk…LOL.
Geez, you make me wanna cry, show!!!
Even the alarm clock is dejected…geez…
This is…the best conclusion of the fall season in that Seiya defeated the Demon King and the story wrapped up properly, but the worst in that Seiya died. No one died in Stars Align, even if they failed a tonne! So…I dunno. I guess it should be happy it ended optimistically…anyways, enough of my moping. See you next time.
BnHA 74
Shin Nemoto = “the truth of the origin of the sound”, if you stuck the particle no between each character.
Tintin got scary, LOL.
Lemillion, making “no capes” go out of fashion again (LOL).
Wow, talk about a clip show…! This is really one.
Check the end of the episode, don’t forget to watch the post-credits segments, people.

We cool? And again once more, in case you clicked on the read more and you still don’t want to see spoilers exit now because, after the next pretty picture of the cast, it’s all open to talking spoilers for the original series and the possibilities for the new one. Got it?
Tumblr media
Okay has anyone that doesn’t like spoilers exited the room? Great...
So firstly I will admit to not being totally versed in Saint Seiya Lore. My first real encounter was the old dub, and way back when I thought it was, no joke, a knock-off of Ronin Warriors. Shows how dumb younger me was. So I have not been involved in this fandom for as long as others have. This leaves me in a place where I know I need to see the original series (I have watched Lost Canvas) and read the manga (does it have the omnibus versions?) , but I’m still someone who knows the importance of aspects of the show enough to raise my eyebrows at the whole changing of Shun’s gender and his importance to the story as male.
Tumblr media
I also know about the twist in the show, how Shun will eventually become Hades and the whole fall out with that. Assuming that they are not doing this yet, as the series only has the usual 13 eps which Netflix likes to start with, then I have to guess this isn’t something that needs to be worried about as of yet.
However...
My concern is more about the story and plot of this whole thing. From what I understand, Hades is male and has his body locked up. The reason he picked Shun in the first place was because of the fact that he was the purest soul and due to this, it made things all the more dramatic when he took over.
Now here’s where my thoughts are coming from. How in the hell are they going to work with this? Hades, for the most part, seems to like his body. As such this would mean that he would probably want a body that looks like his, so this leaves a lot of questions and a whole lot of cans of worms.
Tumblr media
 1. If Shun is a girl, does Hades even take over her body?
Assuming that he does will be covered in question two, but if he doesn’t, does that mean that he has to take over another body? Also if he doesn’t, does that mean Shun is no longer the purest of the group and how does that affect the dynamic of the team?
Not only that but who would they put Hades in then? Seiya would be the worst possibility due to his role in the show, and Ikki is out because Japanese fans would freak the hell out (and everyone knows that given Omega and the cloth incident), so who does that leave?
And doesn’t that mess also with the whole aspect of the twist in the first place, that the one that is the purest becomes the most corrupted? So if she’s not, then doesn’t that mess with the point of the character?
Tumblr media
2. If Hades is to take over her body that opens up a lot of questions.
So if we assume that Hades still wants Shun’s body, then there’s a few things that are rolling around my mind and the fall out from that.
A. If he does take over and he doesn’t transform her body into that of a male form, are we going to get an Ice queen type or a Black Lady type from Sailor Moon? Is Shun going to have the whole “I’m jealous of Shori because of connection to Seiya” situation and thus she falls making it easier for him to take over? Or is it still the “I’m pure” thing going on?  And if that’s the case is Hades going to sound or be voiced by the female actress or are we going to have a male actor playing the part and they share the voice like how Mew two is done for Detective Pikachu?
B. If he does take over then are we going to be seeing him transform her body into a male form? Because, again, if he does, that will open a lot of questions up, some of which I don’t think can be answered in a series that probably will be as long as Voltron at most (meaning 78 episodes). And if he does transform her into a male form, is any aspect (soul) of the female Shun going to hang around in there?
My wonder on this is if they are doing this, and Toei warned against it, is because they can already see the fall out from Japan in regard to these things? Remember that the show is going to be dubbed there too, this isn’t just going to be an American show.
So again, I ask. Seiya Fans, am I worrying over nothing here in regard to the plot, or is this a valid thing to ponder about in regard to the future of the series. Because honestly...I don’t want another VLD situation happening.

DEVILOOF MAGAZINE vol.1 // Album Commentary
1. Devil’s Proof
K: Ryo Trackmaker arranged the guitar riff and the rhythm I came up with. D: We put Ryo in charge of the SE. We’ll probably use it at the beginning of our shows so clap your hands and shout when you hear it.
2. ESCAPE
K: I hope you’ll enjoy the brutality and catchy tempo of this song. R: I think this song is befitting for our revival. The PV kicks asses too so if you haven’t seen it already, get your diapers ready. S: It’s a song we used for our MV so it has a twin guitar solo. That’s the best part. D: I guess you could say this song is like the new DEVILOOF’s business card. During shows, just headband and go nuts. H: This song is brutal.
3. Natural Born Killer
K: Executioners are entertainers. In this day and age, spectators who praise them are impudent. But I don’t think our human nature has changed. We’re just hiding it. R: It’s a really coarse and really crazy song! S: It gives the feeling of running at full speed so it’s pretty upbeat for DEVILOOF D: It think it’d be fun to mosh to. H: This song is brutal too.
4. Return Of The Curse
K: The chorus has a triadic harmony in 9th chord, bringing about a tragic feel we didn’t have until now. I think the scale-out in the melody line also gives is an ominous feeling. R: This is not your typical DEVILOOF song. I think you’ll understand why they say I’m a vocalist. S: This is a song in which you can hear Ray’s gorgeous voice. D: I guess this is DEVILOOF’s very own interpretation of a typical visual-kei song? Ray is singing in the chorus so pay attention to that part. H: This is a trendy brutal song.
5. DESTINATION
K: For this song, it was the first time I let another member in charge of the melody and lyrics, but it turned out to betray my expectations in a good sense. It allowed us to discover new possibilities. R: It’s a song that starts to the sound of my guitar so I’m really worried about screwing up during shows. It’s a Ray-killer song. I hate you sensei (lol) S: The best parts are the vocal’s melody and each instrument’s solo. D: It’s the first time I came up with the lyrics and melody. In any case, I hope everyone will sing along with it. Everyone, pump your fists! H: This is a slightly brutal song.
6. Lover
K: This is a song we’ve been playing at shows since we first started and that we arranged so it would fit in this album. Love can take a thousand different forms. R: It’s a song that we used to play at shows but we revamped it so it could be on the album. I loved the old “Lover” too but I love the new one even more!! S: I like the riff in the intro. D: Fist pump > jump > headbang. If you can do that, everything is gonna be ok. We’ll make you break your neck. H: It’s a kind of brutal song.
7. InCipit
K: This is an instrumental song which combines transcendence with wailing guitars played by our very own guitar prodigy, Seiya. The melody is beautiful. S: Our first instrumental song. D: Seiya’s solo. He’s playing his heart out, if anything. I think he’s really good and has the spirit of a prodigy.. H: It’s a brutal instrumental song.
8. EGOIST
K: The guitar solo in the chorus is magnificent, so the lyrics are magnificent too. I think I’m singing the most magnificent things out of all of DEVILOOF’s songs. R: It’s an extremely cool song! I guess I’m hoping you do a WOD at the beginning of the first verse. S: It’s a melodious song with guitars like you can’t hear in any other DEVILOOF songs. D: Do you know what WOD stands for? Wall of death. Keep that in mind. And do two-step. Let’s have fun at lives. H: It’s a little bit brutal song.
9. M.F.JAP
K: I made this song from scratch all by myself. I’d always wanted to do something modern. R: It’s a manly song that makes you want to jump and is unlike other DEVILOOF songs. Let:s all shout “Stand up” together! S: It’s an upbeat song different from others until now. D: It’s Keisuke’s song. It’s really upbeat but it’s a song that brings a breath of fresh air. H: It’s a relatively brutal song.
10. 怠惰の罪 (Taida no Tsumi / Deadly Sin of Sloth)
K: I think human beings are really annoying and pitiful beings, but if we took away that part of us that makes us illogical, we wouldn’t be human anymore. It’s difficult to convey this through the lyrics alone so to make it easier to understand, I made the title into Japanese R: Deviloof’s songs are usually pretty busy, but the rhythm guitar during the solo is probably the busiest out of all the songs in this album! I hope everyone will enjoy it as much as it’s busy (lol) S: It’s a creepy song. D: I really like this one. It’s really metal (lol) H: It’s a so-so brutal song.
11. HERO=MURDER
K: If you kill one person on a street corner, you’ll be branded as a murderer, but killing thousands on a battlefield makes you a hero. Just like for “Natural Born Killer”, the lyrics focus on the act of killing people. What do you think about it? R: Just like “Lover”, it’s a song you’ve probably heard at shows before. But we revamped it and it’s really different from the original song. When I’m practicing, I get confused because I still have the old version stuck in my head, so it’s kinda difficult! S: I hope you will shout along during that song. D: Let’s shout “Oi! Oi!” together. Until you run out of voice. And headbang until you neck snaps. H: It’s a brutal-ish song.
P.S. Hi everyone, I’m Daiki, the editor in chief (?) of Deviloof Magazine. We were able to make this free paper with the collaboration of many people. In the future, we’re thinking about releasing more periodically so keep an eye out. The band already has a lot of plans from January to December next year! I hope you’ll be looking forward to that!  If I may say something a bit smug, we’re looking for people to share our dream with us. In any case, come to our shows if you wanna go nuts. Well, see you later.

Review: Saint Seiya: Saintia Sho
Saint Seiya, the brainchild of Masami Kurumada, follows a group of young people, each taking the name of a sign of the Zodiac, who fight to protect a young girl named Saori Kido. Saori is the modern reincarnation of the Greek goddess Athena, and the Saints who protect her use enchanted armor and magic fighting attacks. The series has spawned manga, anime, films, OVAs, and musicals. Since the story has a beginning, middle, and end, most subsequent stories authored or approved by Kurumada are set in and around the events of the original story or before them. In 2013, Kurumada approved Chimaki Kuori, who worked on manga adaptions of Gundam SEED and her own work Kimi no Kaeru Basho, to create a new story set in the events of the original series but focusing on an all-female group of Saints. This is Saint Seiya: Saintia Shō.
Shō’s events revolve around Shoko, a young girl who comes to find her sister, Kyoko, the current Equuleus Saintia (the name for female Saints), but finds herself in the middle of the Galaxian Wars (a tournament to find new Saints). After her sister is taken by the show's Big Bad, Eris, an evil goddess that Athena once sealed away, Equuleus Shō (Shoko's new title as a Saintia) starts the journey to defeat Eris, destroy her Dryad army and save Athena and her sister.
I really enjoyed this ONA (Original Net Animation); it’s an all female version of a existing property, and I’m all about that gender bending fighting shonen show juice, plus it’s only ten episodes long. Did I need to know about the events of the previous series to enjoy this? No, not really. In the comments for this show on Crunchyroll, someone describes it as Sailor Moon with armor. That’s both accurate and misleading. Both Sailor Moon and Saintia Sho are much more than girls calling out magic attacks. But the underlying elements of both (loyalty to friends, confronting an unholy evil and, a royal rumble fight at the end) are very similar.
In Sho’s case, the fusion of Greek-inspired warriors and Japanese pop culture’s need to shout attacks in long line readings makes for a great time. Shoko starts the show knowing nothing about her sister’s secret life, and we (and she) slowly get introduced to the life of a Saintia and what it demands. Athena at this point in the series isn’t the all-wise Goddess she will later become. Instead, she has the foibles of a young teenage girl who leads with her heart and tends to fight out ahead of her guard. Shoko learns as her time goes on that she needs to protect Athena from herself as much as she needs to protect her from Eris’ minions. On top of that, Athena is dealing with elements within the Sanctuary (where Saints train to go out into the world in Athena’s name) who would rather she stay a figurehead … and in some cases, a dead one. The series spends a healthy amount of time working out friendly fire problems while staying on guard for Eris’ attacks.
One thing that newcomers should know: this story is smack in the middle of the original storyline, playing out between two major storylines. So there are moments where the characters reference events happening elsewhere in the story but that have no immediate resolution. There was one event midway through the finale where Athena and part of her host leave and then turn up in a completely different place. Piecing together the parts, it turns out there's a part from the original run that fills in this gap. So there are what may seem like inconsistancies, but they're not annoying. I liked that element of the show: you're in the middle of a very big universe but don't have time to worry, because Sho's next challenge keeps your mind on her story, her fight, and her adversaries. For those who already saw the original show, there are references and characters (including some of the Gold Saints) to tie it all together.
As the show progresses, Eris’ plan becomes known. The Saintia have to fight front and rearguard actions, the original Saints become involved, Shoko is tested by Pavo Mayura — a Silver Saint (Bronze, Silver, Gold in ascending order of power) who was crippled during a revolt against Athena years ago, and who I think is one of my favourite characters in the show. She is so exacting against Shoko that, at times, the girl looks like she’ll die in training. But she has a big sister or aunt vibe to her – her pride at her newest charge becoming the heaviest hitter on the Saintia team hidden from view but visible at odd angles. At the same time, the other Saintia range from the skilled but corrupted Katia to loyal and powerful Mii who have their reasons, bad and good, for fighting. One thing I’d like to draw attention to is that the animation by Studio GONZO really is good. The day-to-day animations might look average, but the Zodiac attack animations are first rate, and the voice cast scream their lungs out to sell you on their passion. At the same time, the character designs, which echo Kuori’s designs while also incorporating Kurumada’s originals for the Saints, are a nice blend. The voice cast includes Aina Suzuki (Love Live! Sunshine!!, The Quintessential Quintuplets) as Shoko and Inori Minase (Tada Never Falls in Love, Astra Lost in Space, Isekai Quartet) as Saori. Returning voices include Toshihiko Seki as Scorpio Milo, Ryotaro Okiayu as Gemini Saga, and of course, Hideyuki Tanaka as Leo Aiolia.
Saint Seiya: Saintia Shō is a perfect intro to the series. It tells the backstory of the previous hyperbolic shenanigans, says hi to a new group of heroes, and lays off on info dumping the whole thing in one go. The only bad thing is that there’s only ten episodes, whereas the original had over 100-plus movies and OVAs to tell its tale. That’s not to say anything of the redos, CG reboots, and everything else with the brand on it. Ten episodes isn’t enough for me to know Shoko, her fellow Saintia, and this version of Athena. I’d love to see more of it. Yes, I’m being greedy, but why shouldn’t girls climb into magical armor, scream attack moves at each other, and engage in the histrionics with the boys too?
Saint Seiya: Saintia Sho originally appeared on Ani-Gamers on November 27, 2019 at 8:56 PM.

Dr Stone 13
Did Senku just Salt Bae??? Now I’ve seen everything!
I remember this puckered face from the manga! It’s hilarious!
Poor Kinro…he’s shocked at Ginro’s words…
Those were foxtails.
Who knew Suika’s mask could look so badass, amirite???
Honzuki 1
I like books…so this was a natural pick for me, y’know?
OKAY, why is the girl drinking wine she accepted from an older man??????
O…kay, so this has nice backgrounds and a pretty nice aesthetic with all the flowers, but otherwise it’s kinda dull, to be honest. It moves at the pace of a slice of life show…and I’m not sure it’s intentional or not.
“Only grownups are allowed to tie up their hair.” – So then, and correct me if I’m wrong about this…why is Turi’s hair in a braid? Or, when they mean “up”, they mean in a full bun like Myne (Main???) did earlier?
I’m thinking either a marketplace might have books…or at least signs to read.
I’m thinking of Maou-sama Retry from last season…because I’d rather a boring slow walk like the one I just saw, rather than a terrible run cycle like the one in the first episode of that show.
What…? Was Urano a vegan or vegetarian…? Or just too much of a city slicker to deal with seeing a dead chicken?
Iruma-kun 1
I picked this one based on the good ratings it had on ANN.
How does anyone remember these lyrics??? How many “ba” and “bi”s do you need???
…Hayate the Combat Butler, basically speaking.
Levy = Leviathan, I’d assume.
Aye, what a poor lad…to be sold off at 14…
Well, that was a fast way to set up an episode. If more shows were like this, I’d be a happy camper.
I-Is Opera…a DUDE?! Hallelujah! I hit Bishonen Jackpot #2! (No. 1 is Seiya, of course.)
You comedies wanna play hardball with me? Huh?! Do you, punks?! Let’s see how many times you can make me (wholeheartedly) laugh, then! (Current laugh count: 1)
Gender-coded uniforms, much…?
Is Catgirl related to Opera somehow???
Well, you do know that Asmodeus represents lust, right? That’s why he’s pink, isn’t he?...Isn’t he??? Update: Oh, yeah, right. Sullivan should probably be “Solomon”, but the name is deliberately different for comedy’s sake.
Uh, lemme guess: Daisuke Namikawa for Asmodeus? Update: Ryohei Kimura. I knw he sounded familiar…he’s Kane-san, in other words.
Kamehame-fireball!
(Iruma-kun is a master of dodging)…I thought it was because of that spell from before, really.
Da Vinci homage for the win!
Oh hey! 2nd German suplex of the season (I didn’t watch the first one).
By the power of dodging, Iruma wins…one servant! (Just in case Fate/ wasn’t enough for you…so to speak.)
There’s a single heart on Babylys in the ED, it seems…plus a giant bow.
Africa Salaryman 1
If Beastars is anime Zootopia, then this is absurdist Zootopia.
This is some Attenborough s***...until it isn't.
The OP scenes with the characters dancing...that's gonna be in my nightmares.
Oh, it's the pa in pachinko (“chinko” meaning p***s) that’s missing, so they went with glasses/asses instead.
We got Punpun animated (i.e. frightened Toucan)...score.
Giraffe Donuts, LOL.
I’m really pissed now…there’s no adblocker for my phone, so I had to sit through a good 8 ads or so just to get proper subs…I almost lashed out at someone because of it, too.
FireLion, LOL. I like these old computer-style transitions, but I don’t like how many ads I have to live through for it.
Tokunana 1
Is it just me, or did the police guy say "futures" (plural)...?
Hmm...by brandishing a gun at that point, is this man implying he's a saviour, or that guns are cool? I sure hope it's not the latter, considering gun violence rates worldwide. Then again, I might be reading into this one detail too much.
This reminds me of Midnight Occult Sevants…which doesn’t bode well for this show.
I can see this being my next Cop Craft…which I don’t need this season.
…oh, boy…rule no. 1 of detective shows: don’t be a hostage or get kidnapped. Ever. (Inevitably, if the show is about police in some capacity, someone will break this rule at least once. It’s made to be broken.)
Between this and Kimetsu no Yaiba, we’ve had enough “intelligence” (“using your head”, i.e. headbutting) to last us a while…
This CGI looks kinda bad…Africa Salaryman does better with disguising its CGI.
I like how the skull had a bow on it.
Wait, a dog, bird (pheasant) and gorilla (monkey)…this is some demented Momotaro going on right here…
Lookit that lady go!!! Woot!
To be honest, I keep feeling like Seiji’s gonna develop superpowers…or is this not the show for that…? (I mean, there’s dragons in the synopsis! Dragons!)
This show looks kinda off model, which is a bad sign in the first episode…hearing gunshots after the ED kinda startled me, though, and made a killer move for another episode out of goodwill…come to think of it, I’ve been giving out a lot of “can’t peg down this show with one episode, will watch more” this season already…
Dr Stone 14
(no notes, sorry!)
Actors 1
I’m a fan of Masuda, who voices a character in Actors’s 3rd iteration…IIRC. It’s gonna be a while until we get to him, though.
Uh, how does this guy play keyboard with those floppy sleeves of his???
Specifically, according to Hinata, Haruna told him he was being too noisy before she went back to sleep…although I’ve never seen a little girl be woken up by her big brother in these “I’m late! *puts toast in mouth as they run ou the door*” intros, so it’s refreshing.
His name is Otonomiya (“sound temple”, with “sound” being the thing you hear), of course he’s going to be part of a musical franchise…
“Akizuki Kai” sounds familiar…I dunno why though.
UGGGGGGH! If you’re doing a singing anime, let us hear the damn song!!! Don’t make us wait for the Otonomiya version!!!
Kagura…Sousuke??? Classicaloid??? I am so not going to match that boy with this one. (Well, one of the kanji is different, but everything else is the name, right down to the wordplay. A kagura is a type of dance, y’see, and one of the characters matches one in the Japanese word for “music”, ongaku. The other can be found in Otonomiya’s name, in fact.)
What’s up with this white wall business, anyway??? This ain’t Tokyo Ghoul, this is a singing anime!
Archery boy is good boi. Me likey.
I have a bad feeling about Nozomi, yo.
I LOLled so hard…I mean, this pink dude’s name is Uta Outa…it’s so redundant. You expect me to love him???? LOL, as if!
Con brio = with spirit, with vigour. Adagio = slow, by the way.
Stand My Heroes 1
I’m here for Ume, as I always am. Ume’s role is Go Miyase of the Kujo family.
That was a pretty epic opening, actually.
Who scouts a civilian for a narcotics unit???
I am so not going to be able to match names to faces at this rate…
Hey, don’t you go patronising girls!!!
I feel like it would’ve been better (and flashier) to demonstrate the drug immunity by showing, not talking about it.
Takaomi looks like Tenn from Idolish7, man…
Hmm…I saw Ume’s character, but it’s hard to evaluate his voice for Go just by a “Here you go.” (And no, that’s not a pun…not an intentional one, anyway.)
I just realised Aoyama has this tiny plait on the side of his head. It’s rather cutesy for a narcotics show.
(Aoyama informs Rei about Arakida)…yeah, but why are you here, Aoyama? Are you just here to warn Rei???
The stain really is gone, you really can’t tell that it is there…I assume that means she was drinking water in that tall glass of hers (Rei).
This ending song is a bit weird…I never expected it to be English. I expected it to be by the VAs, to be honest.
Abilities Average 1
It’s better if I call this “Abilities Average” rather than the long-winded “Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!”.
The scenery in this show is nice, at least…(?) But is that a CGI carriage I see?
Comic Earth Star…that doesn’t bode particularly well for me. The only series I’ve watched that has a series that hails from that magazine is SekaTsuyo (Wanna Be the Strongest in the World!) and I didn’t like it much in the end.
Ohhhhhhhhh…kay. Is it just me, or did I read “Hotel Little Gust” as “Hotel Little Girl”…?
Mile and Myne (spelling pending). In female-led isekai. This season only!!!...this is gonna suck, isn’t it?
Lenny is a boy’s name, though…?
Why is the show’s English tagline “God bless me?”…? I’ve half a mind to drop this show already…and I read the premiere report on ANN, so I knew it was going to end like this. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve had a season where I just catch up on older series, even though I keep thinking I will have one on my hands during weak seasons. (This has been a worry since the especially weak summer 2018 season, really.)
The Spain Square…? Really?
Really? You’re gonna complain about Japan’s declining birth rate here???
Whoa, I wouldn’t be surprised if this show were taken for granted by yuri shippers…
The extreme buffering means I managed to spot a redhead who I’ve seen on this show’s promo material…yup, that’s her.
Oh…great. This redhead is tsundere…(If I give one more complaint, I’m getting out of here!)
Oh…so Mile even pointed it out…(probably because this buffering is going so slowly, I can guess what’s happening before it actually happens.)
Okay, so I never figured out why she started calling herself a country girl and I went back and looked (despite all the buffering I was fighting) and no one ever does call her a country girl, it’s just a random misconception she has. Because it was so unclear that this was the case, I’m going to drop this show. (Well, for all the middling shows I have this season, losing one is actually a relief…!)
Shinchou Yuusha 2
Here we are again…and I’ve been thinking about Seiya a lot since last time, which probably seals the deal in that this is going to be part of the final lineup. (Today’s Seiya probably helps a lot with that.)
Ohmigosh, Rista’s panicked face when they almost get caught by Chaos Machina…LOL.
…just as I thought, I go “nnnnergh” under my breath when someone mentions the name “Aria”.
Assassin’s Pride 1
I picked this show because the protag looked kinda hot…but only now I realise he looks like a knock-off Kirito and I really start to regret my choice…
Is it just me, or is this show really dark??? (Not just because of the bloody scene at the start, mind you.)
The side of the train says “Cardinals 26110”, in case you were wondering…(then again, you probably weren’t wondering that…)
Wait-his name is Kufa WHAT?!
This is giving me Lance N Masques vibes now, because it did almost the same plot beats except for the fact I still can’t reconcile the fact Kufa Whatsit lives in a lantern (which is actually a pretty interesting idea…if it didn’t seem rather unviable upon retrospect)…that means it’s halfway to drop city.
Melida is so flat, she doesn’t even fill out her dress…(LOL, that gives a new meaning to “flat as a board”.)
But why is the tutor a dude? Plus an older dude to a younger girl, at that???
Hey, Melida is essentially my kinda catnip…at least in my head...because she’s someone without powers in a family with powers (basically, she’s like Daichi from Crimson/Future is Crimson in that regard). Then again, Charlotte tried playing the same hand by having superpowers and absolutely sunk itself ‘cos I couldn’t stand Yu.
Elise runs reallllllly derpily.
Those CGI alleyways look baaaaaaaaad, man. Like, “looking at grainy footage through a UV camera” bad.
Okay, Kufa. You are not Naruto. You will not see them aliens. Give up already.
The actual frig is an anima???
I like this black/bright blue/purple combo…it’s nice.
Umm…but what is the way to awaken the mana???
I’m currently going, “So why should I give a s*** about Melida???? Ripoff Kirito just chooses to swear his life upon her and awakening her mana because she’s been beaten down a grand total of once…You should’ve killed her already, Kufa. Isn’t that what being an assassin is about???”…and then I realise there’s more to the episode…
Waiiiiiiiiiiiit…one of the maids’ names is Nietzsche??? Like the Ubermensch guy??? That’s weiiiiiiiird, man…
Kufa is a chuuni, calling it now.
The text under the series logo doesn’t quite make sense…
Hmm, this one’s a tough call, but I think I’ll give it a 45 and a hard drop. I don’t think I’ve ever asked myself “So why should I give a s*** about the main character?” before…I think the closset to that would be when I’ve asked myself why I wanted to be subjected to this (for anime that get dropped).
No Guns Life 1
Now that I look at the title again…why is it called No Guns Life when Juzo’s life will always have a gun in it for as long as he’s like that (i.e. he has a gun for his head)…?
*Juzo smokes* - Oh, now that’s a striking opening scene if I ever knew one!
Ohmigoshit’sKnuckledusterfromBnHAVigilanteswithagunforhisheadand…I…*huff huff* can’t breathe anymore…LOL.
Seriously, I thought I thought up some weird s*** for my old stories, like the girl whose face was missing and Akoya turning into a manequin to preserve his beauty.
“The only ones who can touch my trigger are those who I’ve chosen to accept.” – Is that…a sexual metaphor??? Or an intimacy one in general???
Wowwwwwwwww, chibi gunhead (which was hinted in the OP) was not something I expected from such a hardboiled show.
“…shot right in the head.” – LOL, says you when the guy with the gun head is behind you.
I thought there was seriously a pun there by having the gun head’s name be “Juzo”, but it turns out his name has the kanji for 13. Maybe that hints at how unlucky he is instead. (Same with Inui and it containing the character for “dog” – turns out it’s a different kanji.)
I think this is reminding me of Mahoutsukai no Yome – strong in its core genre at first, but then shows some weakness when it comes to comedy.
I worry about how this show will look during the midseason slump period…it both has traces of CGI and the still camera pretending it’s “properly animating” a scene.
That ED really is something…and hey, I got an explanation for why the show has traces of CGI in it from the credits! Unreal Engine was credited there and that’s normally used for games.
Kabukicho Sherlock 1
Dammmmmmmmn, that’s one sweet soundtrack!
Man, I know I said for Stars Align that there’s no slap to the face like a slap to the face, but…this was a slap to the face in that I did not expect Mrs Hudson to do an entire Coraline-style musical routine in the first half of the episode. I could tell from her (?) appearance that she was a drag queen/trans caricature, but they didn’t need to make her a singer in a bar…and the “sexy” shots of Mrs Hudson’s butt are kinda disturbing…and especially the part where Watson (I think it is?) gets a butt grab for his trouble…
The woman in the blue dress is Diana Oldoini (spelling needs confirmation). The woman with the blue hair…seems to be called Tenkill…(yeah, under the subs, I can’t really make it out.) All the women at Pipe Cat seem to be trans stereotypes, which vaguely annoys and unsettles me.
Kyogoku = Natsuhiko Kyogoku and Sherlock is Holmes, but I dunno about “Michel” or “Kobayashi”.
The Watson from the Holmes books was a doctor in the Afghanistan war…I know that much.
Natsu -> Fuyu (summer -> winter), hiko (“brilliance/brightness”, a common component to Japanese boys’ names) -> to (“person”, also a common component of Japanese boy’s names).
Oh, Michel is this guy (Belmont)! No wonder. Update: So the cats are like placecards, announcing that you’re in the building.
White Rose! I saw it when Watson showed up in his car, so I figured it was going to be important…I just didn’t think it was necessary so soon…
Chili oil…no wonder the woman was disgusted by Sherlock’s burp. Not to mention, Holmes was good at identifying chemicals too. This show is shaping up to be a modern Holmes more than Detective Conan is!
Wowwwwwwww…this show really doesn’t like gay people either (understatement).  It’s like I’m watching a show from the 90s in regards to the LGBTIQ+ people in this…
Moriarty is a thief for thieves, huh? A regular (modern) Robin Hood, so to speak. I wonder if the poor kids are the Baker Street Irregulars…?
This soundtrack is sooooo good! Plus it’s clearly leading up to a rakugo scene, based on the fact “Shibahama” briefly appeared on the screen during that really cool rainbow/text scene!
“What sort of girl takes her clothes off for a man she’s never met?” – A sex worker.
I-Is Moriarty drinking Dr Pepper…? Or Coke?
This is really shaping up to be a modern Sherlock Holmes – with his rakugo, this Sherlock is leading his Watson to the answer!
Ohhhhhhhhh man, these CGI cars look terrible!
H-HUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?! W-What? Sherlock gets hit by a car in the first episode (I think they wanted it to happen for humour)? This really is a show where it’s neither mystery nor comedy…it’s just kinda weird and kinda there.
So that’s Mary Morstan and…who? (If you never figured it out, I learnt these characters’ names through ANN cast announcements.)
I…don’t get why Sherlock is screaming because I don’t know what Watson’s bottle-thingy is for, but I’ll assume it has to do with pain for Sherlock’s genitals or something of the sort…and go “ouch” for him.
Okay, so the next-ep preview’s “Why not join the staring at eye moles squad?” is a joke. You see, the word nakibokuro refers to a mole (or beauty spot) under the eye (where hokuro = mole and naki = cry, so it’s as if the person cried the mole into existence). Then it’s mitsumetai, meaning “want to stare”, but then the tai for “want” is substituted for the tai meaning “squad”. So that nonsense English line is just a very literal translation that isn’t funny…just confusing. I don’t get the “Cobra?/ Farewell” exchange though…
This very last scene before the end of the episode seems to be a page of info about the setting of Shinjuku in this series. East and west were split by a wall and train tracks, it seems, and you ned to pass through the gate to go between them…I spotted this omake because of the cat in one corner.
I don’t quite get why the case had to be treated like a gameshow at one part, but that would be a cool plot if someone ever wrote a story about it…(actually, wait. I think I do know a similar plotline from Detective Conan – the one with Natsuki in it – plus the Running Man by Steven King is somewhat similar to it too.)
Ahiru no Sora 2
Essentially, Sora is a reverse Kuroko…amirite…?
Ugh! This slang is so outdated!!! “[T]otes craycray”…the translator’s trying too hard to be a hip teenager…
How does anyone keep food in their afro anyway…?
I…miss shonen protags like Ahiru. The type that are earnest, but not shouty.
I was thinking I might drop the show here, but then I looked at the posts and strangely they didn’t talk about Chiaki (who I expected to be the deuteragonist of this show). Instead, they talk about Momoharu, so I was wondering what kind of twist they were pulling.
Beet red, my butt…
…then again, more Chiaki shenanigans showed up, so I really am gonna drop this. Geesh, Chiaki, you really suck.
BnHA 64
Eyyyyyyyyy, my local sublicensor is back to simulcasting BnHA! That didn’t happen for the stuff affected by the CR x Funi partnership, so I’m happy it’s happening right now.
I heard this was a recap ep but it was handled well…oh well, the new OP is well worth the price of admission.
I like how Amajiki (my boyyyyyyyy!) is like “Don’t touch me!!!”, even in the OP.
Hmm…I see one of the male journalists being scolded uses Windows 10.
Tokuda’s name is literally a pun on “It’s a special (episode)”…good job, Bones and BnHA staff (sarcastic). Update: Maybe the “tane” (seed) means he’s seedy…?Nah, that pun doesn’t work in Japanese.
Good job on recapping Vault Boy (as he’s known). I found his POWERRRRRR! thing amusing when s3 was airing, remember?
I get the feeling (based on the chapters Viz made free for the sake of hyping s4 up) Nighteye is a parody of the Jump series Seiji Tanaka. Update: No, now that I google Seiji Tanaka up and remember Horikoshi was going for a stereotypical Japanese salaryman look, it’s just a giant coincidence…
Tokuda has that “nice older man” vibe going on…hmm…
Whoaaaaaaaaaaa, that quirk is creepyyyyyy…
“…false encouragement to those…”
Selfie for the photobomb photographer!...(or something like that…)
Oh nooooooooo, I know exactly what’s in store for these guys, now that Viz made chs. 122 – 162 available for free for a limited time!!! That ED though…it’s basically torture for someone who knows what’s going on!!!
Shin Chuuka Ichiban 1
This is a sequel to a series I watched ages ago in Cantonese, so…heck if I’ll understand what’s going on, but I’ll try. Even though my memory of these characters should be better than everyone else’s, it might even be worse, considering all the anime I watched in the years between…
All these faces are familiar…but I’ve forgotten most of their names…If I remember right, the blonde is Sanche, the only one I really remember because he gave his all to cutting radish by moonlight so that it was proven it was so thin you could see the moonlight through it…yeah, I think that’s the only character aside from Mao I can really say anything about. (I don’t think he was blonde last time I saw an anime about him, though.)
These chickens are adorable...in this day and age, we know these chickens aren't carriers of misfortune...but just roll with it for now.
The subs don't note it (the visuals do eventually though), but her (Tiya’s) bro is a big one.
I never realised how long Mao's hair was until this series...
Even these men look like chickens...LOL.
The essence of SCI is, like any other shonen, Mao gets underestimated and kicks their asses.
The men even sound like chickens, LOL.
See? Silkies. I've never taken care of one myself, but they are adorable lil' birds with a distinctive look. Anyways, I think what sets this apart from SnS is the earnestness from years gone by (rather than extreme exaggerating). Also, this ep. made me hungry...LOL, that's the sign of a good cooking show.
Yeah...I forgot the reason why Mao wears that blue thing over his arm is because he can dramatically reveal himself as Super Chef. That happened a lot in s1.
...who's Fei again...?
Tokunana 2
I think this is going to be the decider as to where I push the threshold of my rankings, since this how is very middling…also, it’s pretty obvious to note the ep. titles go 1, 2, 3…(and so on).
I’ve watched my fair share of mysteries (Detective Conan gives you a lot of ‘em), so I can tell the covering of the mouth is a tell…the dwarvish man is lying.
The news headline says “Rainbow Bridge Reconstruction”…(It has a particle on the end though…I dunno whether I wanna translate that or not.)
Based on the “dragons” idea, I wouldn’t be surprised if the main antagonist’s surname was Kuzuryuu (“9 headed dragon”).
Codenames? They even did that in Double Decker and in some senses, that was a parody of the entire cop procedural! (What with “Perm” as a codename and all that…speaking of which, I think Travis was the type who liked “fun” codenames too…he called himself “Boss” as well…and called his rookie “Rookie”.)
The saying goes a painted dragon should have the eyes painted last or else it’ll come alive and fly away. It must be something of the sort for daruma too. By the way, I could guess the politician was trying to be re-elected before Ichinose said due to the hissho (“sure win”) written on the daruma.
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone in anime sit backwards on a chair like that (Ichinose’s pose)…
How does Suga know about the blog…?
I keep swearing Seiji is gonna awaken some type of powers, but…I dunno why…?
“Here it is! My fist of justice!” *whomp*…that’s how I imagined the final punch to be for Seiji.
I swear…I’ve been seeing this Angolmois-style filter over Tokunana…(grr…)
Stand My Heroes 2
Wait, there’s Hattori…and Hatori…? Update: Oh…kay, so there’s Otani Hatori (of Revel) and then Hattori You (of the police). They have the same colour hair…and the same hairstyle…there goes my dreams of even comprehending this show…
Wait, so the English-language song is the OP????
Why does a guy called Maki always have green hair…?
Seriously though…Yui is a cliched scientist. By that, I mean he doesn’t really act like one at all – he obsesses over potential samples and whatnot (emphasis on “potential”).
Where the heck did you acquire a drug like that, then, Kagura???
Only Rei, who knows what happened at the dinner, can say “you’re nice based on what you did at dinner”. The viewer wasn’t privy to such things…
Aki’s tsundere…!
That fight scene was barely animated…geesh.
Maki’s got such anger issues that it’s hard to get behind him…
By the by, I don’t find Jekyll and Hyde cases hot, so Maki is basically a no-go.
Iruma-kun 2
This could be the show that decides it all. Iruma-kun is the 2nd-last show on my prospective shows for the season, so I’m cutting the fat fast by watching a few shows that indicate the quality of everything underneath as well as itself.
LOL, I never noticed there was an “Oh my gah” in the OP, haha.
Okay, so the pun in the title is Mairimashita! Iruma-kun (“I’ve Arrived! Iruma-kun”in formal Japanese because he’s the demon king’s grandson), but it’s “demon entry” rather than the standard kanji…so there’s absolutely no way to make that joke work in English, hence “Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun”. The pun in Iruma is that it’s an anagram of the formal iku/kuru (come/go), mairu. Yes, that’s the mairu I was talking about earlier.
I love how the narrator is just like “akuma deeeeeee~su” with all the enthusiasm of a postman; that is, he’s not very good at covering up his sarcasm.
Oh, so it’s maccha, but macha (demon tea)…geddit?
…oh! I actually noticed Sullivan’s hands were bandaged, but I didn’t think anything of it! So it was plot-relevant…
Hellraiser clock…for mezamashidokei (where ma = demon again)…that is a good pun! I love you, subber!
I assume the series of 5 symbols I keep seeing is actually “Iruma”, meaning the demon language is based on English, or at the very least individual romaji.
Oh wait! Babibabi(etc.)ru…does that mean the OP is referring to the school??? *mindblown*
…don’t tell me it’s Sullivan…? Update: Nope, I forgot about “Severus Snape”. He’s Aizawa from BnHA, but a demon.
Asmodeus stands out far too much in a crowd, LOL.
Whether useful or useless, trash is trash.
That’s…a very death metal snake…to put it one way.
This reminds me of Future is Crimson…how nostalgic…I really expect a cute monster though.
*laughing behind hand* Oh noooooooo…does that mean Iruma summoned the teacher??? (Hahahah!!!! Hahahaha!!!)
So…I was right, but I wasn’t right??? The teacher is a cute demon, I guess. Very fluffy. His Snape form isn’t bad either, but I’d prefer someone younger than him, to be honest. (Gimme plushies of the small fluffy sensei!)
Okay, so sukima appears to be a word meaning “gap, crevice (etc.)”. There’s the character for demon in it, so it’s kinda like calling this section the demonic gap-closer…the malevolent mini-episode…the fiendish filler! Yeah, I like the sound of “fiendish filler” (even though I don’t even like filler!).
Dr Stone 15
…now Senku’s done it. (i.e. married Ruri)
I like how Suika went splat while running. It adds more consistency to her nearsightedness.
Now there’s a cliffhanger!
No Guns Life 2
I always love it when people say they’re unarmed…but truth be told, people (normally) have two arms…not to mention, Juzo has a gun for a head and a fist that can rapidly punch. You can’t really call that “unarmed”.
I just realised Juzo’s jaw doesn’t really move when he talks…
Wait a second, ARAHABAKI????? You mean, Chuuya Arahabaki???? (Talking about that to those not in the know would be spoilers, so I won’t explain what I mean here, just in case there are non-BSD fans reading this.)
So…uh, where are Juzo’s eyes in that head of his…?
Ooh, authentication keys. Sounds like cybersecurity. That…was my jam before I jumped ship – apparently I’m too dumb to deal with modulos (which are important to cybersecurity).
Hmm…gun slave unit? Whatever does that mean, hmm??? (somewhat inquisitive, somewhat sarcastic)
Can a guy with a gun for his head get lung cancer? These are the big questions, folks.
Hmm? His hobby is house-cleaning, but he doesn’t have any kids…? That sounds sort of weird (although my ideas of a house cleaner are probably a bit…motherly, I guess? “Conforming to traditional stereotypes”…how about that description instead…?).
I never realised how short the muzzle of Juzo’s head is until I got this side shot.
“Guess that means I won’t be able to hold back against you!” – Whoa! That’s some effective horror…and this isn’t even a show that has “horror” as one of its genres…
