Whispered Violence
A voice whispers in my ear. It is the droning of a fly, The cry of a wailing baby on a plane as you try to sleep, The inane natterings of someone Who has trapped you in a conversation at a bar.
I feel my blood pressure rising. I feel venom coat my tongue And practice using words as weapons.
I let go. I walk away, Leave the voice behind, And go about my day.

hi there! love your work! i recently had a prof say that all zoos (USA) are bad (so we shouldn't support them) and sanctuaries are better because using animals for entertainment is morally wrong, most zoo profits dont go to conservation, and conservation efforts are bandaid solutions to capitalism destroying animal habitats, so the real solution is to return the land to indigenous stewards to manage/rewild. i didn't disagree with the last bit, but the argument as a whole felt a little off to me for a reason i couldnt put my finger on. am i off base here? just feeling really unsure about the whole thing.
You're not wrong! There's a mix of reality and personal opinions in those statements, and it's definitely something worth critically examining. A quick fact-check of what they said for you:
All US zoos are bad
There's a massive range of quality of zoological facilities within the US (and around the world). Some are stellar and some are not, and it's really just not accurate to lump them all under the same umbrella for almost any purpose. Unless, of course, your issue isn't with animal welfare, and it's philosophical, which is what it sound like in #2...
2. Using animals for entertainment is morally wrong.
This is one of my favorite things to talk about w/r/t how we exhibit animals. Entertainment has become equated with exploitation and implicit low welfare in the last couple decades, and so you get a lot of people saying using animals for entertainment is wrong. But those same folk will say that they enjoy seeing animals in other contexts, and they think that's okay. Where's the line between enjoying something and being entertained by it? What makes something one and not the other? Also, we know that people learn better from from situations which are enjoyable/entertaining - even just a fun teacher who jokes around vs a dry lecture - so how can that only be a problem when it's used to make viewing animals more impactful? I wrote a whole piece on this a while back (linked here) if you want to dig into this more. Some zoos (and accrediting groups) are shying away from "entertainment" type branding - shows are demos now, for instance - and others are leaning into "edutainment" that's done with good welfare and communicates actual education messaging. In short, this is a personal philosophical belief, and you're right to question if you agree. (Even if you decide you do think that too! It's always good to question why someone is arguing what they believe about animal use, and how they came to believe it).
3. Sanctuaries are better than zoos.
There's two reasons I think he's misinformed here. First, almost all exotic animal sanctuaries in the US are licensed exhibitors - just like zoos! I only know of a couple that don't exhibit to the public at all. It's an important part of their revenue stream, because gate take helps support paying for animal care. Also anything you see from a sanctuary on Youtube, Facebook, or TikTok? Also exhibition! They just message about it differently, and often have a different ethos about how they exhibit (e.g. tours to reduce stress instead of letting people wander, doing conservation or rescue messaging instead of just display). Second... look, most people assume that the word "sanctuary" means a facility is intrinsically more ethical than a zoo, and therefore they must be a good place. In reality, many sanctuaries get much less public and regulatory scrutiny (at the state level) than most zoos. There are good sanctuaries out there, but there are also sanctuaries where stuff goes on that would absolutely be unacceptable at zoos, and it slides because of the assumption that sanctuaries are inherently more moral and ethical and care for their animals better.
4. Most zoo profits don't go to conservation
This is correct! Direct conservation funding is often a small part of the money a zoo makes. However, that's because money goes to things like facility maintenance, new construction, paying salaries, etc. If zoos put all the money they made back into conservation programs, practically, they wouldn't have the funding to continue to operate. The question that I'd suggest asking instead is "where are they putting money into conservation" and "are they doing conservation work or just throwing money at something to display the logo of the program." Also, it's worth keeping in mind that a lot of what zoos do to support conservation isn't necessarily financial. Many facilities contribute "in-kind", by doing things like sending staff to assist with programs or teach specific skills, or by donating things like vehicles and equipment. Research zoos do also seriously contributes to in-situ programs, and breeding programs for re-introduction like the scimitar-horned oryx and the black-footed ferret are also conservation. Could many of the big urban facilities with huge budgets do more? Yes. But looking just at dollars spent on conservation programs is disingenuous and inaccurate.
5. Conservation efforts are band-aid solutions to capitalism destroying habitats / Returning the land to indigenous peoples to manage/rewild is the real solution to conservation issues
This is a little outside my scope so I'm going to only address the part that I know. First off, like, there's no One True Answer to conservation issues. That's reductionist and inaccurate. Conservation really is a human issue, though, and it often has to involve solving human problems that lead to negative results for animals. There's definitely an issue with what some people call "parachute conservation" where Westerners swoop in and try to tell people living in range countries how to best manage their animals and natural resources without recognizing their perspectives, needs, or what drives their behavior towards those animals. That's not just a zoo issue - that's an issue with a ton of traditional Western conservation work. And there is progress towards fixing it! In the zoo world, I've been very impressed with the work out of The Living Desert, where their conservation people spend a lot of time overseas teaching people in range countries to evaluate and improve their own conservation programs, so they can assess efficacy and also have data to apply for grants, etc. They provide support when asked, rather than trying to tell people who live with these animals regularly what to do. One of my favorite programs that TLD collaborates with (they don't try to run it!) is a group called the Black Mambas that reduces poaching by supporting entire communities to reduce the desperation for food/income, educating kids about animals, and running all-female patrols staffed by community members.
Overall, it sounds like your professor's view of zoos is really informed by their personal moral perspective, and possibly reinforced by a lot of the misinformation / misleading messaging that exists about the industry and about conservation work. They do have some specifics right, but not necessarily the context to inform why things are like that. It was a good catch to question the mix of information and approach it critically.

Some really good notes from my post courtesy of @margridarnauds about that person accidentally using a white nationalist slogan to support the Welsh language:
Tumblr media
I know someone who is doing a PhD on the Far Right and the co-option of cultural movements and these tags are bang on. Its the difference between a healthy nationalism and an unhealthy nationalism. A lot of this goes for Irish nationalism as well as it does for Welsh nationalism.
There's nothing wrong with (and arguably a lot right with) minority language preservation. It can be used for great good (strengthens community ties, preserves culture) but if co-option is not guarded against readily, it can also be used for great evil (see: using minority language struggles as an argument against immigration, for example).
The Far Right sees the cultural preservation of anything (white) and it's like a bat signal. These things are magnets for white supremacists and assorted fascists of all kinds. Which is why it is so goddamn important to be vigilant against people like that hijacking your movement.
I see a worrying amount of Welsh nationalists use (accidentally or not) the language of the far right to argue for Welsh language preservation. It can be as innocuous as advocating for a Welsh Academie Francaise to as obvious as insinuating that Wales must be kept "ethnically" Welsh in order to keep out foreign influence on the language. I see this go unchecked all the time in various Facebook groups for Welsh independence (most of which I've left since admins of these pages either don't know or don't care that people use their groups to share these sentiments).
Nationalism ≠ Fascism - but if you don't keep an eye on the company you're keeping, any well-meaning nationalist/independence or language preservation movement can be hijacked to promote hate. I only know a scant amount because I was only vaguely considering joining Yes Cymru a few years before they all went sideways (but I remember Owen Exie Hurcum talking about this on Twitter at the time) but the leadership of Yes Cymru began to squeeze out minorities from the group- nonwhite folks, gay people, trans people etc. Whole thing put me off from joining. I don't remember the full details but from the testimonies of others, the group was hijacked and steered into a reactionary way of being. Considering a large amount of Welsh nationalists also idolise groups like the FWA (Free Wales Army - a Welsh nationalist group formed in 1963 which tried to emulate the IRA in Ireland, with little success- mostly just playing paramilitary dress up) - whose symbol is this flag:
Tumblr media
Even if the flag itself is based on Welsh folklore and is supposedly an entirely innocent, non fash design- it still is like a beacon to the Far Right who will take any amount of symbolic validation as a cue to join your movement and derail it for their own ends.
Which is why Celtic scholars, people with casual interest in Celtic languages and/or their respective cultures and civic nationalists alike need to be vigilant against those who would co-opt the field for their own twisted hate campaign.
So, one final thought,
Returning to my original post responding to that American chiming into Welsh politics from overseas. Please PLEASE be careful when wading into politics that isn't yours. Where the Far Right are involved, it doesn't take much to cause a dumpster fire - if you aren't 'on the ground' with these issues so to speak, you aren't in the firing line if your comments go sideways and enable/provoke the Far Right in this country.
If you have an interest in Celtic languages, countries and politics- you have a duty to be responsible with what you do and say. This isn't to say that you cannot engage with these topics- but that you should exercise caution lest you accidentally worsen an already delicate situation.
This has been your regularly scheduled Celtic anti-fascist tedtalk. Please reblog to make sure more people become aware of how delicate things can be and how to prevent fascists from getting a foothold in this field. Thank you.

Grabbing strangers by the scruff and shaking them.
Yes it's your right to drop $400 on a $10 checkmark or shoes or earrings while people are fucking starving and at threat of being homeless. Yes $400 is literally like half of my rent and you're just spending it on a static 10 pixel checkmark... that's you're right
But I think I should get to fucking kill you. That should be MY right.
Like mask off? I'm done playing with these privileged rich folk while the rest of us beg on Facebook and GoFundMe and Tumblr and Reddit. And I'm tired of them hiding behind everyone saying "yes but the upper-middle class isn't our enemy"
The fuck it's not.
When Jacob and Leighanne scroll past my donation posts but then drop half my rent on a shitty digital check design... And then don't show up to protests or even sign up for a shift at the community kitchen... They haven't made themselves my enemy? For real???
I'm just supposed to Not take it personally that people who noticed I exist and saw me struggling chose to give money to a multi-millionaire instead?
And the thing is that it's not just me is it? I'm not the only person this happens to.
Poverty is systemic. Which means it's an issue being ignored systemically, too. These behaviors are not unrelated to each other.
"they're not your enemy"
Pass, go try gaslighting someone else. If they want some solidarity from me then it's time to quite literally put their money where their mouth is. The same way trust is a give a take.
And some of y'all, specifically the people who don't donate but sit there arguing in their favor like "well it's their money..." are genuinely starting to echo pro-lifers saying "yeah I believe all human life has value... But that responsibility should be someone else's problem, not mine."
Like sure they have a right to make trivial purchases but I think you should be defending my right to exist and not be homeless before you try making a stand in the name of frivolous spending.
Make sure we have UBI then tell people they can spend money how they want.
"they aren't your enemy"
Objectively not true, they aren't helping ME out, just the status quo. Which is actually precisely the thing harming me :)
"people deserve nice things"
Yeah, but I think their baseline needs should be taken care of first. Like the actual human needs they have should be priority before say a $250 bong is your priority, right?
And like be fucking for REAL, these people have nice things. They don't need you trying to justify anything for them I promise. They already feel entitled to leave us for dead in the name of some dumbass checkmark, I promise they don't need you reinforcing their lack of a human conscious as "well deserved"
They have the same rights as the rest of us and while so many of us struggle so hard for scraps I find it hard to be chill that so many of you wanna cape for Jacob and Leighanne's 35th checkmark instead.
Everyone gets a slice before Anyone should get two.
Eat my shit.

I don't know too much about this case regarding Mobox87. However, as someone who used to enjoy Namy Gaga's FNAF AU until a couple of years ago and who is aware of most of her actions (through extensive research - this is outside of what you guys are covering), I thought I'd throw my hat into the discussion others have started about her.
Content warning for discussions of:
Abusive relationships (real and fictional)
Inappropriate NSFW
Transphobia and other forms of potential queerphobia
Online harassment
Some asks have mentioned that she dated a 16 year-old when she was in her early 20s (2019-2020). This is in fact true if you look at Namy's DeviantArt via the Wayback Machine archive (as well as some comments in a few old posts on her Facebook). This victim (now known as Evan since he came out as a trans man after cutting ties with her) experienced emotional and possibly other forms of abuse from Namy (if the interview conducted by an anonymous user is anything to go by). However, I am surprised by the fact that not enough people know about this: Evan wasn't the only victim. By this, I mean that Namy dated not one, but TWO teenagers when she was in her early 20s.
Soon after in 2020, Namy dated Mely (known as 'MelyButterfly' on DeviantArt and Facebook) until 2021 - Mely was also 16 at the time (she is going to be 20 later in April). As Mely stated in a couple of statements on her Facebook, she faced both emotional and sexual abuse from Namy, particularly the Namy coercing her to participate in a NSFW art/comic collab (which is especially concerning given Mely had opened up about how she was in another abusive online relationship when she was 13 in a Facebook post - contributing to her possible hypersexuality - that I haven't been able to find atm). In July 2023, Mely filed a lawsuit against Namy on the grounds of both the relationship AND Namy sexually harassing Mely online (particularly via Facebook comments) once it ended - note that the lawsuit is yet to be resolved. In response, Namy made multiple Facebook posts, a couple of videos and an awful google drive essentially victim-blaming Mely/Evan and twisting truths (and even Mexican laws) to make herself look better when it only makes her even more guilty (plus I'm pretty sure releasing 'evidence' that ends up supporting Mely's story is not going to help Namy's case against the lawsuit). She continues to lie to her audience about both victims, and I hope both Mely and Evan can heal from this.
Yes, I can confirm that the NSFW artwork condoning incest (e.g. Baby/Brenda and her adoptive mother Ballora/Roselle in her FNAF AU) and sexualising kids/teenagers (e.g. that one Owl House comic) is true. I feel it is important to mention that Namy not only posted such works on her Baraag, Rule 34 and SubscribeStar accounts, but also promoted and defended them on her Twitter (this was before she made two seperate accounts (NSFW and SFW) in response to backlash about exposing her teenage audience to her potentially dangerous NSFW). Not to mention her entertaining the idea of having an Only Fans on her twitter (accompanied by a cropped image of herself being topless), prior to the twitter changes (I wouldn't be against that idea specifically if it weren't for the fact that she potentially exposed teenagers to more NSFW content).
I should mention that Namy has used her identity as a Hispanic lesbian multiple times as a shield against criticism (e.g. when she was kicked out of a Welcome Home fangroup on Facebook in early 2023 - this was actually done because the group admin found out about the things I mentioned in my previous points). This behaviour is most apparent with regards to her controversies around LGBTQ+ topics. Regarding the transphobia, in November 2015 (when she was 17), she made a (possibly now deleted) tweet where she argued against gender-affirming surgery (i.e. "...una vez macho siempre macho", meaning "...once male, always male."), telling any trans/gender-diverse folk who have had surgery to get a refund and calling them the f-slur. Normally, I wouldn't bash someone for making these mistakes as a teenager as long as they grow from it. However, then there was the debacle with using the outdated version of the lesbian flag for one of her characters in her FNAF AU, her allegedly referring to trans women as "dude women" as a joke a few times, and recently tagging an NSFW piece featuring Poppy Partridge (a Welcome Home character who is canonically a trans woman) as 'futanari' (a hentai tag that many criticise for holding transphobic/interphobic*/fetishising sentiments - this should not to be confused with its more general use in describing androgyny among other things). (*It is seen as discriminatory against intersex folk as some definitions of 'futanari' use 'hermaphrodite', a now-derogatory term for intersex people.)
Continuing from this, she made a comic in 2018 where she was gatekeeping how LGBTQ+ people should explore themselves (which is still on her DeviantArt and she has not addressed this yet). Then there is the aphobic comment she made when answering questions about her SU and FNAF AUs on her twitter in (saying "As long as a character may be able to feel love, they have the right to have a partner." and that the "...the only obvious asexual is Bearnard [Toy Freddy]." - these are all translations btw), failing to consider that some ace people can and do have both romantic and sexual relationships (this is from someone who has a few friends on the ace spectrum). And less said about how Namy pairs Brenda/Baby discovering her bisexuality through sexual abuse from Scrap Baby (which is a thing that some LGBTQ+ people can and do unfortunately experience) with the incestuous relationship she later with her adoptive mother, the better.
Then there's Namy's harassment campaign against Ed00chan (creator of the FNAF AU, FNAFHS) in 2018 (?), claiming multiple times that her AU was better and drawing what was essentially a harassment piece depicting her with a few other FNAF artists (who most likely didn't consent to it themselves and most likely didn't agree with Namy's opinions). This harassment piece is still on her DeviantArt btw.
If you want more information about this woman, BioTex Raccoon did a series of four videos on YouTube. While not 100% perfect nor do I agree with all of the points (since I personally don't want to defend Riley Morningstar, an infamous art thief, a not-so trustworthy person and an incredibly vocal critic against Namy), they DO give some detailed insight into how volatile this woman is.
If you manage to read this all, thank you very much. All I want is for more people to know about this woman so no more people can be hurt or deceived by her.
Thanks for telling us this and sending this to us, we don't really know much about Namy but we've talked about her here from time to time

The Spiral of Silence Theory
In the intriguing world of social psychology, there's a theory that peels back the layers of how we form and share opinions in groups. It's called the Spiral of Silence theory, coined by Elisabeth Noelle-Neumann in the '70s. This theory dives into why people often stay silent when they think their views clash with the majority, while those in agreement feel more emboldened to speak up.
What's the Spiral of Silence Theory All About?
Picture this: You're in a group where most folks seem to agree on something. If you feel like your opinion goes against the grain, you might hesitate to share it. Why? Well, there's this fear of being the odd one out, of facing backlash from the majority. On the flip side, if you think your opinion aligns with the crowd, you're more likely to voice it, making that viewpoint even louder.
The Crucial Parts of the Spiral of Silence:
Fear of Being Left Out: Nobody wants to feel like they're on their own. That's why many of us hold back if we think our views don't match the majority's.
Reading the Room: We're always checking the temperature of the opinions around us. If we sense we're swimming against the tide, we might zip it.
Media Messages: What we see and hear in the media can also sway our willingness to speak up. If the news seems to favor one side, we might lean that way too, adding another loop to the spiral.
Seeing the Spiral in Everyday Life:
Politics: Think about elections or heated debates. People might keep quiet about their favorite candidate if they sense others aren't on board.
Social Media: It's not just in-person gatherings where the spiral spins. On platforms like Twitter or Facebook, folks might bite their tongues to avoid clashing with popular opinions.
Office Chatter: Even at work, people might bite their tongues if they think their thoughts don't match the office vibe.
Why It Matters (And Why Some Say It Doesn't):
Sure, the Spiral of Silence theory gives us a fascinating glimpse into how we navigate group dynamics. But some folks reckon it's not the whole story. They argue that things like personality or cultural background can throw a wrench into the works. Plus, in our digital age, where online bubbles and anonymity reign, the picture gets even murkier.
Wrapping Up the Spiral:
Understanding the Spiral of Silence isn't just about unraveling group dynamics—it's about appreciating the dance between sharing our thoughts and fitting in. As our world gets more interconnected, this theory keeps us tuned in to the push and pull of public opinion. And who knows? With a better grasp of this spiral, we might just create spaces where diverse voices feel right at home.

My absolute biggest pet peeve with TikTok users is that when you tell them how the app is literally awful because it has been designed to be addictive and as a result it shortens your attention span, these folks will argue against you yeah, but their main point is ALWAYS that TikTok is how they, and many others, get their news and information on world issues.
Bro there are literally hundreds of other ways to get news that won't ruin your brain. Ways that don't shorten your attention span so you can only watch like a minute long video tops. Ways that don't forcefeed you random bullshit that has nothing to do with your interests and goes against your own opinions, through an app designed to market off your views and taps and reactions, which therefore benefits from forcing you to view things that have little to no relevance to you and your interests, or that will even enrage you.
It's much like when Facebook first came out. Facebook is still shit by all means, but for years after becoming mainstream, studies were being published left and right about how the site forced opinionated posts that went against a user's monitored and recorded opinions, specifically to garner attention and reactions, and to see how users would react. It became addictive. It became an endless hole of arguments and a breeding ground for accusations and callouts amongst users. It was unhealthy, and many users found themselves literally addicted to the argument. Addicted to the high of being in the heat of the moment, of being right, of feeling spiteful. People still fall victim to this today on there, but it isn't as prominent now because we as a society are more aware of the issue, and thus have fought back, have learned to avoid arguing as a whole, and even just avoid Facebook completely.
TikTok users more often than not, from what I have seen, fall victim to this cycle of arguing and feeding the reaction machine. They, much like the Facebook addicts back in the day, refuse to acknowledge this is what they're doing if they become victims, and then they eventually find themselves depressed, anxious, angry, and frustrated, and claim they're unable to stop scrolling through TikTok overall, essentially treating it like a drug. I will tell anyone who reads this: you can find literally hundreds of official, peer-reviewed and professionally done studies, published on how social media which does this sort of thing, leads to mental illness. It is proven that users must monitor what they consume, and how often, and for how long. Otherwise, it very well will eventually affect their mental health negatively. I personally have seen many teens and young adults, many of whom are good friends of mine, who have become this way specifically through TikTok. I've had to tell all of them that TikTok is their problem, that because there are no decent ways to filter out what appears to you on there, and they are caught in the argument hellhole, their mental health is tanking and they MUST take a break from it. And every time those people listen and break away for a short while, just a few days, they find their mental health becomes more stable.
Plus. TikTok users are so heavily monitored and censored. Many other sites and apps are no better. However, news articles and videos will write/say whatever the fuck, and have zero censors minus, usually, profanity and NSFW subjects directly being mentioned. Yes, they are absolutely biased, but the key thing about anyone who reads/watches the news versus watching TikTok, or even just being on any heavily monitored app, is that you learn, as a news consumer outside these environments, how to notice and recognize biases, and where to go beyond one source to find a less biased report. So I'm begging TikTok users. Pick up a newspaper. Read what actual journalists post directly instead of watching a 20 second video rapidfire paraphrasing what that journalist said. Learn what a scholarly source is and use your local library to locate scholarly sources on subjects you're interested in, and obtain information which is actually vetted by folks in the field instead of random users with no study done outside a single video. But please stop using a literal mind-numbing, doomscrolling, forcefeeding app.

So sorry to bother you, but I saw someone in a previous ask recommend you to check out Namy Gaga's FNAF AU and her other artworks.
As someone who was a former fan of that AU, over the past year or so of doing some research, I discovered that she has done (and CONTINUES to do) terrible things - and is overall an incredibly volatile (and in some cases, dangerous) person. I am so sorry if this is the first time you've heard about this, but I thought I'd give you a heads-up just in case you weren't aware.
I highly recommend you check out the four videos Biotex Racoon made on Youtube about her (which bring up a lot of concerns backed up by credible evidence - even if they don't mention everything), but I'll give you a short (ish?) summary below of the more egregious things Namy has done over the 10+ years of her time on the internet.
Content warning for mentions of abusive relationships, inappropriate NSFW artwork, online harassment (including but not limited to victim-blaming), and transphobia and other forms of queerphobia.
Summary:
She dated not one, but two teenagers (both of whom were 16-17 while she was in her early 20s - one in 2019-2020 and the other in 2020-2021).
Evidence (some of which was self-admitted by Namy herself) revealed that she was defending (and continues to defend) these past relationships by lying about Mexican laws.
Testimonies from the victims themselves (alongside other evidence) suggest that Namy was emotionally-manipulative, and in the case of one of these victims, sexually-abusive and coercive.
After one of those victims cut ties with Namy, she allegedly continued to be a creep, especially in her comments on the victim's Facebook posts. In response, the victim put a lawsuit out against Namy (yet to be resolved).
In response to the lawsuit, Namy incited her fanbase to harass said victim via her spreading misinformation, releasing an awful google drive to paint herself as innocent (when in reality, it ended up revealing more information about that specific relationship and turned into a thinly-veiled attempt to victim-blame).
On top of that, she continues to lie about and blame her victims.
She has a long history of creating NSFW condoning/glorifying incest and the sexualisation of teenagers/children (which was posted on her Baraag, SubscribeStar and Rule 34 - and at one point promoted on her twitter).
In 2018 (?), Namy has harassed other FNAF AU creators (Ed00chan), bragging about how her AU is better than theirs. At one point, she made a harassment art piece claiming her and other artists' AUs are better - essentially dragging those who most likely never agreed with her beliefs/actions (e.g. Kosperry).
She has used her lesbian identity as a shield against genuine criticism multiple times.
Despite being within the LGBTQ+ community, she has had a history of saying queerphobic things. For example, saying that "As long as a character may be able to feel love, they have the right to have a partner", ignoring (or worse dismissing) the fact that ace, aro and other a-spec folk can have both sexual and romantic relationships.
Despite having dated bisexual people in the past and having bisexual characters in her FNAF AU, she made a incest joke about one character and her adoptive mothers, and paired another's trauma and bisexuality with her incestuous relationship with her adoptive mother (both in her FNAF AU btw).
There is also the 2018 comic she made gatekeeping LGBTQ+ experiences (i.e. according to her logic, understanding your sexuality/gender is a 'decision' and that this advice is 'the most correct'), which she has failed to address to this day and which is still on her DeviantArt. All of this was said when she was an adult, mind you.
Namy has also been called out for transphobic remarks. When she was 17, she made a tweet arguing against gender-affirming surgery, telling trans/gender-diverse people who have had surgery to get a refund and calling them the latin Spanish equivalent of the f-slur.
Later on as an adult, she allegedly called trans women "dude women" a few times as a joke, caused a whole controversy involving her using an outdated lesbian flag for one of her FNAF AU characters (its the lipstick lesbian one - all other lesbian characters in her AU had the current flag) that may or may not have been a premeditated choice, and most recently tagged NSFW fanart of a trans woman (Poppy Partridge from Welcome Home) as 'futanari' (a hentai term that has been heavily criticised for carrying transphobic/fetishising sentiments as well as some of its definitions using 'hermaphrodite' (considered derogatory against intersex people)).
While there are certain things that one could use to argue that she has grown from this (e.g. once calling out someone who was being rude about her Funtime Foxy being non-binary), this stuff does raise some red flags.
Oh my goodness thank you! I did not know this as I forgot about that ask and have never checked out the AU but thank you for informing this!

Detrans female lurker here. I wanted to chime in with some thoughts on voice training. I think you’re correct that most ftms don’t really end up with a fully male-passing voice, but I unfortunately did and it used to be a huge insecurity and source of anxiety for me. The idea of training my voice sounded really intimidating at first, but I decided it was worth a try and I’m really glad I did. It took me a few months to get decent results, but now my trained voice sounds almost exactly like my pre-T voice, just a bit raspier. I see a lot of detrans women who feel they’re stuck with a voice they hate and I want to offer some reassurance that this isn’t the case—they can change it if they want to. Voice training can be a pain but it really does work, and it becomes automatic once you’ve been at it long enough.
Unrelated: thank you for being a voice of reason and nuance. Like you, I don’t regret my mastectomy, and when I first started orbiting radfem spaces I was very put off by all the “mutilated and ruined” talk. I find it deeply hypocritical, and I’m glad there are people speaking out against it.
Hi! So happy to meet you! I always felt pressured to hide that my surgery helped me, since it doesn't serve the common agenda of many radfems/gc folks, but one of my most core rules for myself is total honesty. I genuinely take great pride in approaching all things with nuance and caution (my nickname in a certain section of facebook back in the day was Queen of Nuance lmaoo). It makes me really happy to hear that it's noticed and makes a difference for others.
I think being vocal and honest about our positive experiences with surgery could also be a key step in helping to repair relations between radfems and trans folks, since there are many people in both groups (and some people who belong to both!) who aren't on the extreme end and see the potential benefit in building a bridge.
It also helps show genderists that I'm coming from a place of understanding, empathy, honesty, and genuineness, not hatred of trans/dysphoric/gnc people (I am dysphoric and gnc, and it could be argued I am trans in a medical but not ideological sense).
I also, VERY importantly, want this blog to be somewhere other radfems and others questioning gender ideology feel 100% safe to talk to me, ask questions, or express opinions that parts of radblr might react more harshly to. I don't think there's anything wrong with that - women are not required to be patient, educators, etc., and I certainly feel the need to scream and rant and lash out my fair share - but if we want to put the good of all women and girls first, and reach other women/girls and show them there is safety in sisterhood, some of us need to take that patient, nuanced role on sometimes. I find that people go from hateful to open pretty quick once they realize in one-on-one interaction that I'm not some trans-hating bogeyman, just a regular woman who understands dysphoria and wants everyone to be as healthy, happy, and free as possible.
Thanks for the voice training info btw! I definitely believe in the power of voice training. Despite some radfems claiming otherwise, when done right for a prolonged period of time, you can do most anything with vocal training, and it does become your "real voice." I think a lot of radfems who haven't known many MTFs irl think their voices are all fake and that if, say, they talk in their sleep, it would be in a regular deep man's voice. That's not true. Now, my experience is pretty limited to gender critical transsexuals rather than gendies, but I often discuss my mtf best friend on here, who's stayed over at me n my wife's house many times and is a hell of a sleep talker 🤣 At least in her case (and again, I use "she" bc my brain has only ever perceived her as female so it feels dishonest not to, not because she has asked me to or cares in the slightest), I can 100% confirm that the trained voice is permanent and never disappears - I mean it is like working out one muscle group a ton and letting another atrophy, so it makes sense. So it's not like voice training means talking in a fake voice for the rest of your life, which is what a lot of people seem to think.
I'm glad to hear you have no regrets about surgery and are happy as you are :) I'd love to chat more with you and hear your perspectives and opinions!

IDs are of 4 slides from this Instagram post by perfectunion. Each is a screenshot of a tweet by American Economic Liberties Project @econliberties, with an American flag hanging down sideways as their profile picture.
ID. Slide 2:
"But Apple is innovative!"
Apple's greatest innovations were the result of dynamic & begin underline competitive end underline markets. Today, its own executives admit that its monopoly power allows the company to ship products that are simply "good enough."
Competition, not complacency, drives innovation. End ID.
ID. Slide 5:
"Apple is better at privacy!"
From begin underline degrading the security end underline of text messages to begin underline selling your data to foreign govts end underline, Apple's clock of privacy is mainly a self-serving branding strategy.
Apple can improve privacy at anytime without engaging in anti-competitive conduct. End ID.
ID. Slide 7:
"Apple doesn't harm me with its dominance!"
Apple keeps prices sky high for consumers, charges as much as begin circle $1,599 end circle for an iPhone now, a fee for every "tap-to-pay" transaction, & more.
By begin underline blocking other hardware developers, there's no pressure to lower prices or increase quality end underline. End ID.
ID. Slide 9:
"I don't even use Apple products, why should I care?"
Apple begin circle exploits end circle its market power to hobble innovation by rivals across the economy.
Now, they're begin underline expanding their monopoly power to automobiles, content creation, and finance end underline -- using the same exclusionary conduct playbook. End ID.
aw yea... the u.s. centrism, the subtle xenophobia, and all the classic economic illusions.
2: consider that collaboration is what drives innovation. fricking capitalist BS that "innovation" requires "competition." usually "innovation" that occurs under "competition" is just new and fucked up ways to control people as much as possible. i'd argue that apple, or at least those that dominated apple operations, were already in the exclusivity mindset from the beginning, and so the natural next step was to continue "innovating" ways to create a monopoly.
5: seriously, selling data to foreign governments? this just feels like xenophobic fearmongering. hit me up with a source, please. i can, however, guarantee you that apple is "selling" data to the surveillance state in the us. to act as if they are only selling to foreign governments, or that it's only an issue if they're selling to foreign governments, is classic union nationalism and just so incredibly harmful and untrue.
7: so u.s. centric here. are you kidding me, whining about an expensive phone? it's not that hard to buy secondhand, or simply not buy a new phone at all. think of the folks who are being murdered and/or worked to death for cobalt and check yourself. do you really want to live in a world and support an operation where constant murder is the norm? because that's what you're supporting when you won't even talk about issues like rare earth metal mining when talking about tech companies.
and sure, there's something to be said about how the expensive phone is an example of how this entire system is bullshit, but you can't talk about that by only focusing on a price / without talking about the constant violence that it requires.
9: again, so u.s. centric.
and more vague economic propaganda. what do you really mean by "market power"? what "innovation"? what "rivals"? is the issue that things are not transparent / open source, or are you still for the worst of private ownership? do you care about people, or are they all just "consumers" to you?
also the fearmongering. apple does not have monopoly power over autos, content, or finance whatsoever. i genuinely have no idea what bro is talking about. cars??? content??? finance??? i mean ok maybe autos in the sense that i know newer cars might only support certain kinds of phone connections, but the rest??? hello??? google exists??? facebook exists??? and who tf only accepts apple pay? + all the real money is still in the banks, which apple does not own.
also like. that american flag is lowk suspicious ok. and the "American." like yea seeing that, i expected all of this shit. but i wonder what a world where perfectunion platformed more supply chain and establishment critical sources, even just very occasionally, would look like. and like, this guy already panders to Trump supporters, okay? why not balance it out? (i mean we all know the answer – at the core of today's union organizing is usually a lot of white nationalism).
obligatory yes i talk shit about unions all the time but it's still important to support them. which you can still do while criticizing them and thinking of ways to push them further.

Creating a far-reaching digital marketing strategy can be quite the challenge, but one of the most vital elements is uniform posting on social media. Not only does that prove effective in engaging with your desired demographic, it's also essential for good SEO optimization too. By sharing content regularly throughout channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram you stay at front of mind with existing followers and potential customers alike - boosting brand awareness and loyalty while simultaneously drawing new people who might have otherwise passed over you! As we all know, social media is a great way of boosting your search engine visibility. People are more likely to find you through posts shared on the likes of Facebook and Instagram than other websites or engines – so it's really important to keep posting regularly if you want to remain visible! It pays off too when crafting content that appeals directly to your audience. Don't forget: useful tips, tricks and industry updates create trust while also helping with SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages). And let's be honest - who doesn't love seeing their name at the top spot in Google? Give John Cleese a run for his money…   Importance of Regular Posting on Social Media for SEO There's no arguing it - social media is vital to SEO in the modern world. Posting organically on these platforms can result in a significant boost for your website visibility, and ultimately drive traffic levels up as well as improving search engine rankings. To make sure you don't miss out on potential clients or customers, having an active presence across all major networks is crucial! If done right (and regularly!), this strategy could certainly give you that edge over competitors when it comes to top-notch SEO results. So get posting! Posting regularly on social media can be a really great way to boost your SEO efforts. By getting yourself seen and heard by sharing content consistently across different platforms you'll stay at the front of people's minds; both current customers as well as those who are researching what it is that you do. That means they're more likely to stumble upon your website - which in turn leads to higher search engine rankings! Think about, if someone asks for recommendations regarding something related to your business or product there's lots more chance they’ll discover yours first…as long as you keep active online, of course! Posting content on social media also can provide helpful backlinks for your website, boosting its visibility in search engines such as Google and Bing. It's like getting a seal of approval from the internet: when other websites link to you, it tells search engines that what you have is valuable – making them place your site higher up their rankings! What's more, if folks are sharing your website or blog stuff elsewhere on the web (which often takes place through links shared over social media), that opens up chances for others to hear about what you got and also provides better eyeball opportunities for referral traffic direct from those places likewise. Plus, regular posting helps cultivate relationships with followers who could eventually become future clients or customers come down the road – which again benefits SEO as a result of increases in site visits after some time due to loyalty schemes being used plus constant deals distributed thru these networks etc.. This is especially useful if you get chatting with your followers, as that helps build trust and bolster a brand's credibility. Plus it makes them more engaged than just seeing static posts would allow - not to mention giving businesses or brands the chance to respond quickly in any sticky situations which might crop up. This way they can manage their reputations even when things get difficult and still maintain good digital marketing performance over long periods of time each year – all thanks to setting aside specific tech-based activities for this purpose!
The Interlinking of SEO and Social Media Social media and SEO are two key parts of any effective digital marketing stratagem. Whilst SEO is focussed on making sure your website can be identified by search engines, social media's all about getting involved with your followers and creating connections. Nonetheless, what many people don't recognize is that the two in fact go hand-in-hand. Posting regularly to social media accounts can have a massive influence on how well your website performs when it comes to searching through engine rankings; thus rendering it one of the most essential aspects for successful Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). In essence there’s no way around this John Cleese style – if you want impressive results from SEO then regular posting online through channels like Twitter or LinkedIn should become second nature! Posting on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook is basically creating another space for folks to get to know your brand or business. This means more potential customers will come across you, driving traffic towards your website - improving the ranking of your site in Google's algorithms. What’s more, it allows increased visibility through multiple channels which can make a real difference when trying to raise awareness among bigger audiences – something that is essential if you want higher organic search engine rankings long-term. I mean let's face it who doesn't love getting noticed? It makes us feel special! Posting routinely on social media also assists in constructing credibility for both users and search engines; when someone unearths a post they like from a certain company or brand, they're likely to share it with their mates and family consequently magnifying its reach - something Google values significantly whilst deciding where websites must show up within organic index rankings. What's more, regularly updated content (including posts) make clear that the firm behind it is active and engaged with its followers - another plus point concerning ranking positions as far as Google’s algorithmic output results pages (SERPs). And lastly, regular posting gives companies an opportunity to get better acquainted with their targeted group of people; what type of material emerges victorious? Which posts are shared most often? Who interacts most commonly? All this data can then be used to help shape future decisions around content creation strategies including other parts of digital marketing such as pay-per-click campaigns (PPC)… John Cleese style: 'Digital Marketing Strategies! Ahhh… whatever next?!'   Understanding the Role of Content Strategy in SEO Optimization Content strategy is vital for SEO optimisation. It's not good enough for businesses to just chuck content onto their websites and hope people will find it - there needs to be an element of planning, crafting, and making sure things are all tuned up perfectly if you want the best outcomes. What with search engine optimisation (SEO) being pretty important when it comes to digital marketing strategies; getting your website ranking higher on SERPs makes life a lot easier in terms of attracting visitors. This is where content strategy steps into play: helping you create stuff which has got some decent SEO clout behind i ,making sure more users come across your webpages! When it comes to building an effective content strategy, keyword research is a must. Also creating catchy titles and descriptions for each piece of content makes sure your articles are seen by the right people; after all you don't want anyone googling 'aspirational kitchen equipment' only to find out that what they were looking at was actually about cars! Furthermore using relevant meta tags and making use of internal links throughout your website helps search engine algorithms rank up your pages in SERPs - better results equals more clicks - so make sure to optimise images too as this can help boost visibility even further. Lastly keywords pl
ay a major role here: these are words or phrases which potential customers type into Google when hunting down something specific; if used correctly keywords allow search engines like Google decide which webpages should appear first on their list when someone searches with those same terms. Doing a bit of keyword research before you start writing can be massively helpful in helping your content climb up the SERP rankings. But it's not all about words, visuals like pictures and videos also have an effect on SEO results as well as how much visitors interact with them. Optimising images involves adding titles chock-full of relevant keywords and ALT tags containing descriptive text about the image. This means users don't have to open up the file before they can see it, while search engines get an idea what's in there too! Videos can be optimised as well with basic keyword research methods; this boosts engagement from viewers which has a knock-on effect on SEO performance diggsy davies style! If businesses want successful SEO results long term, then having a comprehensive content strategy that covers both written stuff plus visuals like pictures or videos is essential - particularly today when customers do more online searches for products and services than ever before.   Valuable Impact of Digital Marketing on SEO through Social Media Social media is like a must-have for businesses that are trying to get the most out of their SEO. It has potential to bring websites into the spotlight and give companies useful info on what customers actually want. With more folks getting onto social media every day, it's almost dumb not use it if you're in digital marketing or looking to improve your SEO. Talking about ranking high with search engines - one thing can't be ignored: frequent posting on various social platforms! Conveniently enough, people already spend a lot of time on said platforms anyway… so why not take advantage? Truly gotta hand it to those clever algorithm wizards at Google… Right then, if you want to boost up brand recognition and get yourself a jump on SERPs (search engine results pages) - the best way is by regularly posting content. That'll keep your audience engaged while helping search engines locate your biz more quickly in response to relevant keywords searches. Plus there's that extra incentive of loyalty amongst those who are seeing you around often enough stay top-of-mind with them! 'Cos nothing beats having followers thinkin' they know ya inside out… Social media posts are also a fantastic way of building links - postin' links back to your website helps improve its authority with search engines like Google or Bing. This can result in not only improved rankings but higher organic reach for each posting containing the link too, so it's double benefit! Plus, if you're sharing useful and interesting content then there's more chance people will share it; which again bolsters credence towards yer site from those lovely algorithms according to their own measure, an' sends even more folks down organically through them shareds. Posting relevant stuff on social regularly is hugely important when lookin at publicity increasing AND creating relationships with customers that could become loyal over time; they'll help spread the word around about ya among their mates n fam as well! Regular activity means followers have something fresh tengage wiv every day while strengthenin trust between 'em'm up and brandy-wandy - such an indispensable part of any burgeoning digital marketing strategy these days…   Maximising your SEO with Consistent and Regular Postings When it comes to getting the most out of your SEO, regular posts are essential. Social media is by far the best tool for boosting visibility and reach - think of it as a platform giving you access to potential customers in real-time; relationships that could result in sales or conversions. Plus, with consistent postings on social media channels li
ke Twitter and Instagram, not only will your content remain fresh but also make it easier for search engines such as Google or Bing to find what they're looking for! I mean who hasn't heard about John Cleese's 'Don't mention the war' joke? It just goes to show how well effective social networking can be - if done right! Creating content on social media frequently comes with a great bonus - it increases the probability of others sharing or liking your stuff. It's like getting extra points in SEO; user engagement through likes and shares considerably improves where you rank in search engine results pages (SERPs). Plus, when folk share what you post their friends get wind of it as well – taking its reach to even more people! The more chances folk have to interact with your brand online, the greater likelihood they'll end up being a customer - so staying active on social media should be an absolute must in any business's marketing approach. After all, there's no substitute for conversations and chatter when it comes to creating relationships: if you can't communicate properly then people will forget about ya! Think of yourself as that irritating person at a party who nobody listens to; even though their jokes might actually be funny… Right then, if you want to get the most out of your social media campaigns, it's a good idea to check in on analytics tools like Google Analytics and Twitter Analytics. That way you'll be able stay up-to-date with how successful each post was at gaining exposure and engagement - so that next time around you can refine future marketing campaigns for even better outcomes such as increased web traffic or upping sales conversions. And remember: regular posts build trust between customers and brands; staying active reassures punters there're real people behind the brand doing their best to provide quality service – goin' some way towards creating loaylty over time!   Essential Tips for Enhancing SEO via Regular Social Media Updates Staying on top of your social media accounts can be one of the quickest and most efficient ways to give a lift to your SEO. Social media is now playing an enormous part in how search engine algorithms rank websites, so having an involved posture there is vital if you want any chance at appearing near the highest point in rankings. So what are some key tips for upgrading SEO with regular posts on social media? Well firstly, it's crucial that you keep up a consistent schedule when posting content: this ought to guarantee that whatever material gets out there will get seen by as many people as possible! If you don't post regularly, your followers will lose interest and won’t show as much enthusiasm when it comes to interacting with or sharing your posts. What's more, sorting yourself a schedule for posting could make the job simpler for search engine crawlers who need to pinpoint new content on your page at speed - that can even give a boost to how high up in SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) you turn out. Talking of creating content for social media, chucking in some keywords connected with products or services on offer from yer website is also important! Search engines can better identify which info is relevant when they explore web pages and this increases the probability of these sites appearing higher in SERPs when people search for related keywords. To help algorithms perceive the links between all your posts, make sure each piece includes at least one link to a page on your website: that way crawlers will index it correctly, giving you greater visibility amongst SERPs. Not only must we create brilliant content; but also spread it across different channels - Twitter & Instagram are ideal if applicable; Reddit or other websites dedicated to sharing information such as forums connected with our industry; email newsletters etc., not just fuelling brand recognition but driving more traffic back towards parts of our site where there's more action (purchases/newsletter sign-ups). And this helps boost overall pre
sence within SERPs even more!   Real-life Case Studies: Successful use of Social Media for Good SEO Posting on social media regularly is a vital component of SEO as it helps your content get seen by many folks. Engagement with users results in more people coming to the site and better rankings for it in SERPs. Creating posts that are interesting, engaging & relevant will draw attention towards the website, thereby increasing its visibility on search pages. Casestudies provide an insight into how successful businesses have utilised social media effectively to ensure good SEO output! Take Twitter and YouTube for instance. A company could use one or the other to post regular updates about their goods or services in a bid to gain followers clicking on their links, thus boosting traffic and chances of better SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). Another team may opt to make entertaining videos related to what they do, hoping it will draw more viewers back home. It's all part of the game these days! Social media can be a great opportunity for businesses focusing on their SEO strategies with an eye to the long-term, rather than short-term gains. Rather than just relying on influencers or running flashy campaigns solely through Instagram and other platforms, it's worth taking some time to build relationships with potential customers that could last beyond the campaign itself. Plus any regular posts across different social networks will help create brand recognition over time which helps your SERP rankings as more referral traffic is directed from sites like Facebook - even someone as technophobic John Cleese might understand! Right, so social media is great for SEO. Not only can you share images and videos that will get indexed on search engines like Google, but if they become popular enough then folks'll be sharing them all over the place - resulting in more links going back to your original source. And regular posting isn't something to underestimate either; there are lots of case studies out there showing how successful companies have used these platforms effectively – building relationships with customers who might stick around long-term as well as maximising visibility across SERPs by using different forms of content.   Misconceptions about Social Media and its Influence on SEO Social media is an integral part of any decent SEO strategy. It's a great way to get your brand out there, create content and connect with customers - but it seems that folks tend to have some misconceptions when it comes to social media impacting search engine rankings. You may be forgiven for thinking that if you had more followers or likes on your pages then this would help them rank higher in the SERPs (search engine results pages)…but no! That simply isn't the case; having more fans doesn't directly result in better organic ranking positions for your sites. One of the most important things for SEO when it comes to social media is frequent posting. Google and its ilk use algorithms that assess relevance & quality of content, factoring in frequency and freshness too. By regularly creating high-quality posts on your socials you can increase SERP rankings by amplifying reach/visibility online! Not only does regular posting bolster SEO but there are a whole host of ancillary benefits as well - think increased backlinks from other sites sharing or linking up with interesting stuff; improved UX through providing timely info; search engines will have a better grasp 'cos they know what topics interest ya; stronger relationships with clients who'll feel like they've got more insight into yer company/brand ; higher engagement rate which helps boost click thru rates & bolstered brand reputation because customers see that ye're active online brewing trust – something else taken into consideration re: ranking websites in SERPs…   Future Trends: Evolving Nature of the Relationship between Social media &SEO The association between social m
edia and SEO is in a state of perpetual flux. It's no longer just about honing your website to please search engines, but more around how you make the most of social media outlets so as to get yourself noticed and intensify your visibility. As technology moves forward, it alters our manner of interacting on social networks too and how we employ them for promoting our companies over the internet. In order that any enterprise can achieve success online, staying informed with these alterations becomes imperative if they are looking to leverage their presence on various types of social sites effectively for purposes related to optimising search engine functionality.. Posting regularly on social media is key to having a successful SEO strategy. It's an effective way of getting your message out there, and can help drive organic traffic as well as increasing visibility. Doing this also makes sure that all the content you put out remains visible, so it keeps readers engaged; which in turn helps give higher rankings within search engine results pages (SERPs). So if you've got something going on – make sure people know about it! Furthermore, frequent posts enable businesses or individuals not only to connect with a larger audience but also keep their followers involved by furnishing up-to-date information or helpful hints relevant to their niche or industry. This will guarantee that when someone searches for something pertinent, they come across applicable content from your page first ahead of a rival's page! Not an ideal scenario if you happen to be the competitor; I'm sure John Cleese would say so anyway… Staying on top of your posting game is key to establishing relationships with customers, building trust and credibility through engaging conversations or creating communities related to your brand/business/profile. It's all about organic engagement which can hike up visibility- a major SEO ranking booster! Plus it gives followers an insight into what you're all about - so if someone comes across one of posts whilst scrolling their timeline, that might just rope them in for good too! To put the cherry on top: regular postings are vital when implementing any successful SEO strategy as they increase Google SERP rankings meaning more potential clients get clear access & guidance towards whatever service/product (or anything else) you have going on. In conclusion, getting involved in regular social media posting is essential for good SEO optimisation. Not only does it enable you to send more visitors your website's way but also allows a great opportunity to interact with the target market and construct an efficient content plan for digital marketing. If done correctly with quality material, businesses can get their name out there on the web and gain access to masses of potential customers. John Cleese once said 'I don't know anything about computers - if it didn't squeak or have some milk come out of it I'm clueless' – pretty funny right? Of course that isn’t quite true when talking about online visibility; just make sure you post regularly! “bad faith criticism"
i.e.: You laid out point-by-point exactly what happened in the show, on screen, for everyone to see, but Nonnie doesn't feel good about the implications so they don't want to listen - yet cannot disprove it so they fall back on popular meaningless buzzwords like "bad faith criticism" so that they can maintain their sense of intellectual and moral superiority without actually putting in the work of examining the media they watch for propaganda that they might not have initially noticed was in it
"built on blatant ignorance of what the show is communicating"
i.e.: You openly and clearly stated the things the show PRETENDS to be communicating, with all their pretty and flowery speeches about "love" and "unity" and "freedom," yet you also had the nerve and the audacity and the presumption to point out that sometimes a Capitalist Corporation will sell Rainbow Pride Merch with one hand while stabbing multiple different marginalized groups in the back with the other, and pointed out that if you read what the series is ACTUALLY COMMUNICATING instead of mindlessly swallowing the thin veneer of false-progressive candy-flavored pesticide the stuff was generously coated with for *marketability,* you'll find that the series openly condones and uplifts Capitalist Conservatism all the way through and that it frequently echoes sentiments and rhetoric proudly spouted by alt-right bigots in the real world - to the point where I have never seen an "Anti-RWDE" argument that did not mirror something I've seen from racist homophobic sexist gun-toting pro-trump anti-mask All-Lives-Matter folks I've argued with on facebook and twitter in the past.
"and a lack of common sense"
i.e.: Nonnie has absolutely no ground to stand on in this argument, no evidence to support their claims, no pretention of logic or reason to bolster their position, so they fall back on petty insults and false accusations so that, once again, they can maintain their sense of intellectual and moral superiority without actually putting in the work of examining the media they watch for propaganda that they might not have initially noticed was in it
"Get your head out of your ass. That’s not a request."
And now we get to the part where they unironically quote Disney's character The Beast during one of his early-arc abusive moments, when he's just used his position of power to threaten an old man's life and then agreed to spare him only on the condition that a woman become his life-long prisoner and he wants to get with her so he demands that she go on a date with him, "That's not a request." It's almost as if Nonnie thinks that they are inherently Superior to other people: as if they think they are the Bestest and Smarterest and Popularest and Holiest kid in school, and therefore they get to dictate what everyone else is allowed to do or say or think, and if anybody dares to have the nerve and the audacity and the presumption to deviate from their Bestest Smarterest Popularest Holiest standard, it gives them the right to bully and attack and abuse them to "teach them a lesson." Gee, I hope that Nonnie one day goes through enough self-reflection that they actually have the chance to grow and change like the Beast, instead of continuing to behave like a belligerent and violent abusive asshole for the rest of their life like the As-Seen-On-TV version of Adam Taurus they currently act like now - but considering how far their own head is up their own ass, and how deep they've shoved their fingers in their ears, and how tightly they've squeezed their eyes shut, and how loudly they're screaming "LALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU," I kind of doubt that 'becoming a better person' is something they're willing to try for.
It’s so frustrating that I can say “this is what was on screen. You saw that right?” And people like anon can be like “no it wasn’t stop lying” and think that’s somehow enough and is a valid way to try and shut me up. They don’t want their to be any flaws within RWBY so they just pretend they don’t exist and scream and yell when people point out that ignoring the flaws don’t make them go away. That’s not to say a person can’t be bothered by the flaws or think they’re not a big deal, that’s fine. But trying to deny the flaws even exist is a massive problem. Pointing out stuff that the show has in it and mentioning why you have an issue with it is NOT “bad faith”, it is just criticism. I would like to know why someone who gets so violently angry towards any sort of criticism trolls the RWDE tag and my blog so religiously. Just....block me if you don’t want to see it I literally could not give fewer fucks about how many people block me. I don’t care seriously if my content upsets you block me or block the RWDE tag whatever but yelling and screaming will do nothing.
Oh gosh that part was just so painfully wrong I don’t have much more to say outside of what you already said because you put it so well anon. The show pretends to have these powerful messages of hope and standing together and trusting love and all that bullshit but if you take two seconds to look at the mains who are supposed to be spreading these messages you find that they....don’t. As you said this is something all corporations on some level do. They sell pride merch during pride month and go on and on about how much they love the LGBTQ community but then turn around and donate to organizations that exist solely to cause LGBTQ communities harm. That is the terrible miserable truth about capitalism. The show is painfully capitalistic with its not so hidden messages about how the real bad guys are the government agencies trying to put in protections from the uwu poor corporations to keep them from exploiting their vulnerable workers to make a buck.
It’s so funny (sarcasm) how they spent so much time spewing ridiculous and nonsensical insults at me that they forgot to actually you know put in a real argument. But maybe that was the point. They had no argument against what I was saying so they had to resort to pathetic insults to try and distract from the fact that they have no argument and hope that everyone just agrees with them rather then using their critical thinking skills to come to their own conclusions on the media they consume. It’s okay to be wrong sometimes. It’s okay to make mistakes and screw up and be imperfect. It’s okay for people to have not noticed the shit the show tries to push out and the harmful messages it had because yea when you love something it is so easy to get lost in the magic and to ignore the flaws because these are characters you care about. You bonded with them and they often mean something to you and admitting they fucked up or even seeing that they fucked up can be so hard sometimes. Hell the first time I watched volume 6 I was cheering Ruby on when she beat Cordovin and gave her speech to her and yes looking back now I see how cringy it was but at the time I was lost in the show and loved the characters so much I didn’t notice the shit. It took longer then it should but once I saw the shit the girls where willing to pull and how horrible they could be it made it hard to not see how bad it had been in earlier volumes. And it’s okay to have been like that. It’s okay to care about the characters that its hard to see the flaws or you don’t want to focus on the negative and want to enjoy the good you find within it. What’s NOT okay is doing what that anon did and calling people names and harassing them and going around the block people put against them.
I just still cannot believe that anon could type out those words and still hit send and think that was a. okay and b. anyone would ever listen to that bullshit. Does anon not realize how fucked up and toxic and abusive that kind of language is? Or do they not care because in their mind its okay to be a terrible person to someone they deem as an irredeemable monster for the horrific crime of having a different opinion about an animated TV show. But....that’s the trend these days isn’t it? We’ve gone from “bullying is wrong” to “It’s okay to bully people we deem as bad people” so nasty people who just like bullying people are incentivized to find ways to make people they do not like into bad people at any cost even if it means blatantly lying or twisting someone's words to fit their narrative so that it becomes okay to bully and belittle them and so that no one will care what is being done to that person because we have made it okay to bully and torment and harass people we do not like. And that is a dangerous place to be in. No one has the right to bully anyone ever. Period. People are deserving or respect and acting like you can order someone around and pretend you’re so high and mighty and everyone will simply bend to your whims is vile and disgusting. I hope that anon can learn to be a better person but as you said I doubt it.  (I know I said “you” a lot in this but the you I am referring to is the other anon the one you are responding to does that make sense lolz)

Another vent post, woohoo. As much as I hate doing these I need to.
Life's been a struggle, for awhile, especially recent. I know, I tend to be depressed a lot in general, it just seems to be part of my personality at this point. I'm really hurting now though, and I want nothing more than a hug.
That's it. I can't get therapy, I can't get meds, nothing. So just please give me the next best thing. Just gimme a hug...

Vent Post
I normally don't do vent posts, ever, but I kinda want to, and here doesn't have a character limit so-
Lately I've been under a LOT of stress, a ridiculous amount. I keep feeling lost, depressed, spacey and unmotivated to do anything. Fights with friends, drama with a lot of people, everything's just upsetting and frustrating.
And yesterday I fainted, or- who knows what it was, during some lab work and my brain's been spacey since. I don't know what's wrong with me, I never seem to know what's wrong with me, and I just want out. I wanna know at the very least how to fix this, but I can't seem to figured that out either.
As I type all this my brain keeps going into this foggy, spacey state and my emotions keep threatening to shut down. What a week...

The Problems of Social Media, a Kinder View
This was originally written on another service, so there may be some issues with the paragraphing. Apologies in advance!
It was around 11 AM, when I usually wake up (I know, folks. I know.) I craved morning stimulation in order to properly feel awake, and trust me, mindlessly scrolling through Instagram, Twitter or checking my DMs on Discord wasn't gonna do the trick for me. I needed something intellectual, a topic for this newsletter even.
And then I read this fascinating article on Pocket that was rather long and detailed a lot of things about social media and society. I didn't agree with all the things stated, but I'd recommend reading it all the same, quite a fascinating read. It touched, albeit somewhat briefly, on the topic I actually wanted to dicuss this issue! Such luck! I have linked it here for you all to read if you wish. Right then, onto our topics!
Censorship- Is It Important?
Censorship has been a word that gets bounced around in various areas of our lives. Online and in the real world, it seems to pose a significant threat to freedom of speech. Or does it truly? The issue seems to get far more complicated when you factor in several things, especially online.
Tumblr media
What the article I linked proposes is that social media as a whole has undone the fabric of society- that it enforces almost too much of an individuality rather than a sum of a whole. I would argue this to rather be a good thing, especially regarding politics, as things such as siding with political parties on every aspect is becoming a rather senseless idea. But then it brought me to a question. What about censorship? Certain social medias, if not all, have all practiced a degree of it. In some cases it was politics- i.e. Facebook and Twitter with political individuals. Tik Tok, Youtube, Instagram and most other socials often remove media that might be seen as racist, promoting violence or homophobic might be removed entirely from the platform.
Triggers and The Safety of Minors
THIS NEXT PART CAPTURES MOSTLY MY OPINION AND TOUCHES ON PTSD, ANXIETY AND THE RISKS OF BEING A MINOR ONLINE. IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO READ PLEASE SKIP TO THE PARAGRAPH AFTER A MESSAGE THAT STATES IT HAS BEEN CONCLUDED.
Respecting triggers but choosing whether it's individual responsibility or responsibility of a community is a touchy subject. I will admit I have PTSD and anxiety triggers myself, and at times triggers are unavoidable, to which one has to learn to manage their triggers themselves and heal over the trauma. But I will argue in certain respects triggers should be respected by the other individual. An example would be a private conversation. It would be considerate to respect the trigger of the individuals involved in that direct conversation. An example where it is not applicable however, would be a per se a server on Discord, unless the server itself is a mental health space. Of course, this is all my opinion, as many people have their own ways of handling their triggers and discussing the boundaries surrounding them.

Warning! Opinion!
This post is not to make enemies or for people to attack. I don't want that here.
Tumblr media
I hope people understand, but I want this post to be a safe space. I only post what I said on my Twitter for context on how I feel about this, not to open a discussion.
From my Twitter:
I just got on Twitter to talk about this but I had already heard this news and been reading Tweets. I'm... Astounded. These people aren't Republicans. They're a bunch of sick, violent mobs pretending to have a cause. It's the American Revolution all over again. With people using a cause that could be good or bad as an excuse to hurt other people and endanger lives. I'm shocked, I'm horrified and this is coming from a conservative. This is just disgusting, embarassing and only served to hurt our cause. I'm so ashamed for my people right now and I'm so sorry to all American innocents that got caught up right now. This is comparable to 9/11 and I REFUSE to support this.
For those wondering what I'm talking about, here:
https://twitter.com/i/events/1346454323635527680
Now for my Tumblr comment since Twitter isn't friendly towards long posts unless it's a thread and those are a pain in my ass.
You all are amazing, all you Americans and otherwise who follow me. So if you're reading this, I want you to know, it's all gonna be okay. America may be divided but we as individuals don't have to be. We can make a difference by uniting ourselves and putting our differences behind.

If I make a political (Covid) post on Facebook and my Facebook friends start arguing, it makes me really stressed. Even if I don't really talk to some of these folks. I don't want to be the source of negativity. I just want people to listen to scientists and doctors.
