Ok, I recently wrote an essay [here] talking about the definition and duties of civil engineering as well as the ethics because of the brain rot @swordfright gave me with calling Dream Sam’s ultimate engineering project. So, because I actually am a civil engineer I took it upon myself to design the title and summary of quantities sheets just like I do at work for roads but with Dream as the project instead. And in honor of angst day sponsored by @sixteenth-day-event, I figured I’d share it because I feel like it kinda works for the prison of the mind prompt.

“Sam’s “ultimate engineering project” he deemed too damaged like a bumpy road or crumbling building that wasn’t worthy of patching and filling in the cracks or reinforcing, that’s too eroded to be fixed and preserved. So, Sam strived to tear him down to the bedrock so he could remake, remold, and reengineer Dream according to his design for the common safety, public health and well-fair.”

{These are very similar to the actual sheets I make day to day, which I shall not share for the sake of doxing my location, but yea pretty much everything has a significance. Some of it doesn’t necessarily make sense but that was because I was more so taking inventory of what we see in lore (so you know I counted ;) lol)}

dark, devastating, tipping into madness.  scraping your nails against obsidian walls.  not about a specific resident of pandora’s vault, but rather every character who’s been stuck there (mainly dream and sam).

vengeful, brutal, merciless.  angry tears rolling down your face.  also about pandora’s vault, but heavy metal this time.  lots of quackity vs dream, but still not about any characters in particular.  shorter playlist but each song goes hard.

dramatic, thunderous, and ambitious.  there’s smoke in your lungs, and you don’t know if it’s the explosion or your cigarette.  general dsmp vibes, moreso about the plot as a whole than any specific arc.  wilbur-heavy for some reason.

everybody knows that the dice are loaded everybody rolls with their fingers crossed everybody knows the war is over everybody knows the good guys lost -- (everybody knows, wild fire)

heaven, if you sent us down  so we can build a playground for the sinners to play as saints you’d be so proud of what we made -- (crossfire, stephen)

melancholic, heavy-hearted, yet hopeful.  sobbing into the fur of a big white dog.  a collection of the songs i played on repeat while writing ‘in the wild all lessons last.’  not all of them make sense lyrically since i was mostly looking for the right vibe, but many of them do.

Sometimes I think about this dialogue between c!Sam and c!Techno

"Why did you help Dream to escape?"

"Why were you torturing him?"

His first thought was about c!Dreams torture, not anything else, not even the favor, and it was said with a sadness in his voice

he consistently brought up the torture!

some people think c!techno didn't care because he made jokes about it to c!dream and it feels like such a deep disservice of how kind he was and how good he was at reading people. he knew what dream needed.

and to everyone else, he jumped to point out the torture! it was the first thing he mentioned when talking to phil about why they needed to break dream out and he brought it up at least twice that i remember to sam.

hell, even before that, he was clearly wary of dream's treatment in the prison and pointed out how it would impact someone!
