Cheyann Klus, 22, has vanished. 12 days later someone using her phone dials 911, but before the operator can say a word, the caller hangs up.

Cheyann Klus is a 22 year old Chicago-area woman that went missing around late November/ early December of 2017 after spending a night partying with her friend/potential romantic interest, 38 year old Brian Biddle. According to Brian, the last time he saw Cheyann she was being her normal self and they were drinking and partying late into the night. Cheyann’s father reported her missing when she did not return home after a few days.

A day and a half after she had gone to see Brian Biddle, Cheyann's friend Chad wakes up to a series of text messages pleading for him to come pick her up. Just 20 minutes later, Chad texts and calls her back but gets no response. Those texts are the last time anyone ever hears from her.

12 days later On December 11th, a call was made from her phone to 911. The caller hung-up before a single word is spoken. DuPage County Sheriff's Detective Jeff Leonard says he doesn't know who made the call. It was soon traced to the Mallard Lake Forest Preserve, 20 miles from Brian Biddle's house, 18 miles from Cheyann's home. DuPage County officers and K-9 units scour the 86-acre preserve, then again four months later, but find little evidence.

Missing Persons Awareness Network President Gia Hoffman believes that Brian Biddle, the last person known to see Cheyann Klus, knows a lot more than he's saying.

Detective Jeff Leonard disagrees, and says Biddle isn't a suspect in Cheyann's disappearance and isn't even a person of interest. In fact, police say Biddle is talking, and he's a valuable witness.

Brian Biddle is currently at Cook County Jail, booked on charges of possession of a firearm and narcotics, unrelated to the disappearance of Cheyann Klus.

In March of 2018, the preserve was searched for the second time with more than 100 personnel and five dogs, but Klus was not located during the search.

My Questions/Considerations: 

The 911 phone call was made 12 days after she went missing, which means Cheyann’s phone was either charged or turned off & turned on again during that time

We do not know if Cheyann reached out to any friends other than Chad when she was asking to be picked up

We do not know where she was or who she was with when she texted Chad to come pick her up

Cheyann Klus had some run-ins with the law - On 9/22/17 she was charged at with obstructing identification and illegal transportation of alcohol. She was booked in Du Page County, IL on 10/25/2015 for underage drinking

It was not unusual for Cheyann to be away from home for days at a time.

Where she was last seen

Investigators found out she went to Chicago the night of Dec. 1 into Dec. 2, where she was in the 2100 block of North Kilbourn.

At that time, Brian Biddle resided at 2135 N Kilbourn Ave, so we can assume she was with him before she went missing

The distance from where Cheyann was last seen on December 1st, to where the 911 call was traced on December 11th, is about 30 miles or 45-50 minutes by vehicle

Gabriel Settecase

Cheyann was arrested on September 22nd with an individual named Gabriel Settecase , age 31. 

Gabriel was arrested in 2011 for illegally parking or operating a motorized vehicle in an unauthorized area of Dupage County Forest Preserve

Gabriel was booked on May 26th, 2018 for drug charges in Peoria

Gabriel’s address is listed as : 405 W ANN ST WEST CHICAGO, IL 60185. This is 12 miles away from Mallard Lake Forest Preserve, where the 911 call was traced
