Mooncool TK1 vs Eunorau New-Trike
Powerful Folding E-trikes
Two-wheeled and three-wheeled e-cycles are similar in many ways. Yet, each is unique. The three-wheeled e-cycle is known as an electric trike, or e-trike. It is becoming more and more popular with each passing month. E-trikes are powered by an electric motor and an accompanying battery, usually lithium-ion.
The e-trike industry is growing very quickly. Strong increases in e-bike sales are being noted all around the world. In the US, electric trike sales exceeded $6 billion last year. add are projected to top $19 billion by the year 2030.
E-trikes are great fun to ride on a variety of terrains, but their sheer size often makes them difficult to store or transport. Folding trikes are less common than more traditional frames, but they conveniently open the door to new possibilities for transport and storage.
Let’s compare two folding e-trikes, the Mooncool TK1 and the Eunorau NEW-TRIKE.
Mooncool Folding TK1
Tumblr media
Eunorau NEW-TRIKE
Tumblr media
Power and Torque
Appearance is important to e-trike shoppers, but they also want plenty of power. With power to spare, the Mooncool TK1 will get you where you want to go. Its 48 volt 14.5 amp battery powers a 500 watt rear hub motor. Very importantly, the Mooncool’s motor puts out 55 Newton Meters of torque.
Torque is important because of its relationship to power. You can think of torque as the power available for turning the rear wheel on your e-trike. The torque can be provided by a motor or by the pedaling of the trike rider.
The harder the rider pedals, the more torque is applied for turning the rear wheel. In the same manner, the more powerful the battery and the better the motor design, the more torque is available for turning the rear wheel and propelling the e-trike forward.
The Importance of Torque
A motor with 55 Nm of torque gives your e-trike quicker starts and more powerful hill-climbing ability than a lesser motor with a lower torque output. To summarize, higher torque provides quicker takeoff, easier starts on an uphill incline, and greater ease of climbing hills.
How much power is enough? This varies with the individual rider. For example, a 300 pound rider needs more power than a 150 pound rider. In general, riders who live in an area with hills are happier with a 500 watt motor than a less expensive 350 watt motor. The same preference applies to riders who weigh in excess of 175 pounds, or who carry heavy gear when riding.
Power Comparison
At first glance, you might think these two trikes have equal power. If you look more closely, the Mooncool has the advantage over the Eunorau. Like the Mooncool, the Eunorau has a 500 watt hub motor. Unfortunately, it is mounted on the front wheel. In terms of traction, especially on hills or in gravel, that’s a definite disadvantage.
The Eunorau also has a 48 volt battery, but it only yields 12.5 amp hours…compared to Mooncool’s 15 amp hours.
Battery Range
Even the best motor is useless without reliable battery power. The Mooncool folding e-trike is equipped with a strong 48 volt 15 amp hour lithium ion battery. It is ideal for treks of up to 60 miles. Of course, range always varies with terrain, wind, the amount of peddling, plus gear and rider weight. If you like longer trips, the Mooncool comes equipped with a spacious rear basket where you could carry a second battery.
The Eunorau, with its lower 12.5 amp hours, only enjoys a range of up to 40 miles. It also has a rear basket where a 2nd battery could be stored.
Drive and Traction
The Mooncool TK1 folding e-trike features rear wheel drive with a differential-equipped axle. The differential means that the two rear wheels rotate independently so that when making a turn each wheel rotates at a different speed. This vastly improves stability and tire wear.
The rear wheel drive also is great for traction. The majority of weight rests on the rear wheels which improves traction significantly. Most riders encounter frequent loss of traction on a trike with front wheel drive.
Eunorau riders must settle for front wheel drive, which is prone to losing traction. Experienced e-trikers prefer rear wheel drive.
Horn and Turn Signals
The Mooncool TK1 has conveniently located buttons on the handlebar to activate either a warning horn “beep” or a directional turn signal. The turn signal controls brightly flashing rear signal lights. Of course, it also comes with a bright headlight and taillight.
The Eunorau offers neither a horn nor turn signals, but it does have a headlight and taillight. Both trikes are also equipped with integrated brake lights.
Availability and Price
Both of these folding e-trikes are usually in stock, but price will likely be a factor in you choice. The Mooncool is listed at $1899 and the Eunorau at $2499. Shoppers are likely to find a sale price on either e-trike if they monitor the relevant websites, but it will be difficult to overlook the significant price disadvantage on the Eunorau.
Choosing a Folding E-trike
As you make a decision, carefully consider the features that are important to every e-trike shopper.
Build Quality
Safety Equipment
Power and Traction
Range
Comfort
Price
All things considered, the Mooncool Folding TK1 fat tire e-trike is a wise choice. Get more information and choose your favorite color at Mooncool Electric Trikes

five fic Friday
Sadly, I missed making note of the 100th recommendation milestone, but I think today's will make 111. (It's not a multiple of five because I did have one bonus recommendation.)
First, a pair of very silly post-S1 reunion fics:
Those Who Can't Do, Teach (T, 9k) by @fremulon - in which Stede becomes an 18th century (highly anachronistic) management consultant.
Continue to Continue to Pretend (T, 4870) by @artgirlfunkel - terrible disguises! fancy drinks! as one of the tags puts it: bit commitment as a love language!
Then a pair of modern AUs:
The 7:25 from Ocracoke Island (G, 4k) by @forpiratereasons - just a lovely little story in which someone is in Stede's seat on the ferry. (familiar feeling from my bus commute days!)
A Day in the Life of Model Employee S. Bonnet (T, 5820) by @xoxoemynn - delightfully absurd: Stede as a mail carrier (CHECK OUT THE ELECTRIC TRIKES THAT AoNZ MAIL CARRIERS USE) who tries out to be a shampoo model. While on the clock.
And finally a post-apocalyptic AU:
man is a giddy thing (E, 10k) by @ghostalservice - years after a world-changing pandemic, Ed hears a performing troupe doing Shakespeare over the radio and tracks them down to the ruins of Disneyland to see them perform live and in person.

Prohibition on e-bikes and e-trikes on major Metro Manila roads takes effect today
Be mindful that effective today, electric bikes (e-bikes) and electric tricycles (e-trikes) are officially prohibited from traveling along major roads of Metro Manila in accordance to the Metro Manila Council’s approved resolution. To be very clear, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) declared the following thoroughfares as off-limits to e-bikes and e-trikes: C1: Recto Avenue;…

How Much is Your Brain Worth?
WEAR A HELMET!
You may think it looks a bit dorky, it may leave you with “helmet hair” and it may be too warm in hot weather…but wear it! My helmet has saved my noggin from injury more than once…but once is enough. Take a look at these statistics provided by New York City:
Almost 75% of fatal bicycle crashes (74%) involved a head injury.
Nearly all bicyclists who died (97%) were not wearing a helmet.
Serious injuries were rare among riders wearing a helmet (13%), but even more rare among bicyclists killed (3%).
Bicycle riders produce about twice as many head injuries as any other sport — including football! Please don’t risk it — just wear a helmet…especially if you ride an e-bike or e-trike. My Mooncool provides a ton of enjoyment and exercise, but it is powerful and fast. This puts your head at even greater risk.
A decent helmet doesn’t have to be expensive. For my first e-cycling experiences, I wore a Bell brand bike helmet, purchased at a thrift shop for $4.50. There was nothing wrong with it, and it was good protection. But 500 miles later, I became interested in smart helmets. This precipitated hours of research.
Tumblr media
I selected the Livall MT1 Neo, and it’s a keeper. The speakers deliver sound quality that is about 50% better than Sena, and visibility is decent. Unfortunately, I can’t find a helmet that gives everything I want — great lighting, great communication, and decent sound quality. For example, communication is better with Sena, but it has no lighting and poor speakers. Here’s what I get with Livall:
Good head protection
Decent lighting in the back (none in front)
Good communications (cell phone bluetooth required)
Make hands-free phone calls
Listen to music, podcasts, map directions, etc.
Ask Alexa, Siri, or Google for whatever
Turn signal lighting on back of helmet
1-Click voice commands
Handlebar-attached remote control
Long battery life
Comfortable fit
Very lightweight
Automatic SOS alert
Anti-Loss Alarm
All things considered, the Livall seems to be a good choice, and I have no plans to make a change. To make it even better, I will be adding a helmet light visible from the front. Of course, most of these features are not necessary, and not cheap, but they do contribute to the enjoyment of riding my Mooncool. But the main thing is…

Somehow it's a huge surprise to me that trikes exist in real life. I thought it was something Death Stranding had made up. And e-trikes too! Such wow! Now if only they could also charge in 5 seconds.

Dumb rambling, your free to ignore it LOL
I know I get excited for every Jurassic World Evolution 2 DLC pack, but I’m still gonna talk about it anyway LOL!
youtube
Despite the new Dinos, I’m WEIRDLY more excited for the free update! Specially because we get SO MUCH more variants! When the update introducing the variants came out, I ADORED it! But I won’t lie and say I wasn’t disappointed when only a few dinos got that treatment when there were so many models that differ so much from the originals that didn’t get the same treatment! So I’m super happy for this!
Tumblr media
Concavenator is one of my favorite dinos (one of, I have MANY favorite dinos ngl lol)! So as much as I am excited for the Camp Cretaceous Tarbosaurus, the dino I’m most excited for with the DLC is actually this one!
Tumblr media
I’m super excited for the Tarbo! Sure the Camp Cretaceous Tarbo just looks like a T-Rex with osteoderms slapped on it when Tarbos actually looked quite different, but tbf, this is Jurassic World we are talking about… getting mad at JW for being innacurate is kinda pointless imo… but then again I am on the lenient side of the paleo fandom that doesn’t mind inaccuracy as long as they aren’t monsterfied or are inaccurate in a documentary. But I digress… I’m super excited to get her!
Dino Rant incoming LOL:
This is gonna come out of nowhere but I wanna rant about it lol, I honestly HATE how in one of the endings of the interactive episode she just became T-Rex Fodder (aka my LEAST favorite thing in dinosaur tropes E V E R…) I love IRL T-Rex, but ngl, while there are a lot of movie and tv show rexes I DO love (Like Big and Little Eatie from Camp Cretaceous) I’m pretty biased against Hollywood T-Rexes and typically always let out a very annoyed sigh when one appears… mostly because they either make them stupidly overpowered and loose to nothing (like making them kill herbivores like triceratops with no struggle when trikes could EASILY kill a Rex for example… yeah I’m looking at you Life on our Planet), Introduce new dinosaurs only to kill them off, OR they do the opposite and make another dino kill a Rex without the Rex even struggling to just show how powerful this new dino is. CRAP IS REALLY FREAKING ANNOYING bro!
Also I’m sorry, but in this pic it looks like she has a Chad Chin LOLOL
Tumblr media
Pretty excited for the Gigantaraptor and Utahraptor too, though I’ll be honest, idk what to say other than I LOVE how these guys look!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok I’m done, I know not much people are gonna read this but idc LOL
