5-Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I really, really want to, because comments make me SO SO SO happy, and I occasionally have some wonderful people who go through and comment on every single thing I've written which is the DREAM -- but I don't always have the mental bandwidth to do it. So let me just say right now that if you've ever left a comment I have read it, and I loved it, and you made my day better.

6-What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Uhhhh .... there are a lot. People can cast their votes on this one, but I'd say maybe Ambrosia or Don't Flinch?

7-What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I had to leave THG for this one, lol. But I think Impossible Magic, which is a fix-it for the Enchanted Forest Chronicles that solves something that bugged me about a series I otherwise adore.

8-Do you get hate on fics?

the real ones will remember, lol. I had one specific reader who would leave, like, novel-length comments on every single chapter of every single fic about everything he hated / disagreed with. My favourite was the list of my D2 victors in order of who he hoped would get killed off from most to least (Petra was at the top and Emory was at the bottom SORRY MAN). I honestly don't know why he was still reading if everything annoyed him so much, lmao.

If ever I get a mean anon I delete it though. You won't catch me responding to anon hate.

9-Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Not....... really. I write sex in very specific situations but it's usually to serve a purpose and I'm kind of ... vague about it, even when I think I'm being explicit (for me). I'm sure people could pick out sex written by me pretty easily. It's not exactly fade to black because that implies skipping to later, this is more like ... elisions, I guess.

10-Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Very famously, yes. I'm not sure what I'd consider the weirdest one. Temeraire / THG victors as dragons? Watership Down / THG rabbits?

11-Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Fanfic, no, I don't think so, but I have had original stories stolen and put up on Amazon. It's the reason I took down my FictionPress account and have all my original things locked on LJ / DW.

96 out of my 111 fics on AO3 are gen, so that should give you my answer on that one, lol.

15-What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Never say never???? But sadly, probably the Portal/Emory's Games crossover if only because all the notes on the super complicated Arena were on a computer that died and I don't remember anything

16-What are your writing strengths?

Character and feelings, babeyyyyy. Also my hallmark is making people care (or at least think) about characters they absolutely despised before

17-What are your writing weaknesses?

Plot is hard. Every time I think I've done something complicated I'll read a book by someone with an actual intricate plot and need to lie down for 500 hours

18-Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Nah. Generally I use dialogue tags to tell the reader what language is being spoken

19-First fandom you wrote for?

Star Wars, when I was 12, though it was just me and my bff. Dragon Ball Z was the first time I actually realized fandom was a Thing

I will always have a soft spot for Fixed to a Star, I think

Republicans this week clinched a majority in the US House of Representatives after claiming their 218th seat in the 435-member body, flipping the lower chamber from the Democratic Party more than a week after the midterm election.

But despite their newfound House majority, the GOP will have a razor-thin edge, with the party currently holding a 219-211 advantage with just a handful of races left to call.

And according to GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois — a prominent member of the House January 6 Committee who's retiring at the end of the current Congress — the party will have a "totally nonfunctional majority" once the new session convenes in January 2023.

Kinzinger, who spoke on Charlie Sykes' Bulwark podcast about the internal dynamics within the GOP caucus, including the challenges that Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California faces in rounding up the requisite 218 votes to earn the speaker's gavel on the floor House floor, said that Democrats would need to be strategic about the situation if they hoped to block a McCarthy speakership.

"When there's a 15, 20 person majority, it takes a lot of people to deny the future Speaker his votes. But when it's just like three, four, five you can find it – which is why I think the Democrats need to be really thinking about, and thinking about working people like AOC and some of those that are never going to vote for a Republican — find a Republican that is agreeable, try to find a couple of Republicans that are in elected office, and then vote for that person for Speaker," he said.

Kinzinger, who was first elected in 2010 and was formerly close to McCarthy, slammed his onetime friend who is navigating a delicate situation of trying to appease far-right, mainstream conservative, and moderate members of his caucus with a thin majority — a tough prospect for any Republican lawmaker in leadership.

"This couldn't happen to a nicer guy," Kinzinger quipped. "I used to be great friends with Kevin McCarthy. He's been the biggest disappointment of my life."

He then went on to criticize Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, who replaced Liz Cheney as the chair of the House Republican Conference last year after the Wyoming congresswoman repeatedly spoke out against former President Donald Trump's debunked election claims and his role on January 6, 2021.

"Let's look at Elise Stefanik, who I think is probably thinking, 'Ok, if Kevin goes down, I can be the next speaker.' Right away, having the lack of a red wave, she already tweets out her endorsement of Donald Trump. Like, how pathetic can you get, by the way? How obvious can you get?" he said.

"Here's the dynamics in the caucus. Yes, Andy Biggs [of Arizona] is going to run against him, which is meaningless because Kevin will get a majority of the caucus," he continued to say. "Suppose they end up with 220 people. He needs 111. That'll be done. The question then is whether you can get to 218 on the floor, because that's what you'll need."

"That's where you can extract power. Why is Marjorie Taylor Greene super supportive of Kevin? She doesn't like Kevin. He's promised something to her. I guarantee you. Why is Matt Gaetz against Marjorie Taylor Greene? Because probably Kevin McCarthy has yet to promise him anything, and secondarily, he wants to be more famous than Marjorie Taylor Greene," he added.

'EACH PERSON NOW HAS THE POWER OF A SENATOR'

Kinzinger then blasted the ultraconservative Freedom Caucus as the "Freedom Club," and said for many of their members, their ideology has "never been principle-based" but rooted in gaining fame.

The Illinois congressman reiterated that McCarthy — if he becomes speaker — will have his hands full as members in a 220-or-221-member GOP caucus will effectively have veto power over most legislation.

"It's a totally nonfunctional majority because — I've lived this — where [Republicans] want to defund Obamacare. 'Well, we don't defund it enough.' Or if we want to just pass the budget, we have to defund Obamacare because there's 10 Republicans that are willing to vote 'no' on a conservative bill so we don't have enough people to get it done. If you're down to one or two people, each person now has the power of a senator," he said.

"It will be an unfunctional majority, and Kevin will probably be the equivalent of the dog who caught the car," he added.

Kinzinger said that past GOP speakers had remarkable legislative skills, but still struggled to round up votes on several key issues even with larger caucus sizes.

"[John] Boehner was one of the best at cutting deals. He struggled. Paul Ryan knew policy. He was a moderate, good guy. He struggled," the congressman said. "Kevin McCarthy is going to have trouble."

Finally the man of the hour, Manhunt Ventura Vumbra!!!111! His role and info in the manhunt universe is down below!

As you can guess, Ventura is the younger sibling of Elise. Before she ran away, they had a very close relationship. They were almost always together as kids and teenagers. Ventura was only 14 when Elise left.

Weeks, months, and years went by as Ventura waited for her safe return. Eventually, he believed she was dead in a ditch or living her best life... without them. If she was just on vacation why wouldn't she have told him in person? Their sadness over her disappearance soon turned to hatred for Elise. As much as Ventura would've liked to have punched her for leaving without a word, life went on. He finished medical school and moved to Carcer City to work in a government-funded clinic in a low-income area. While the clinic usually worked with low-income families, they would also take in gang members for injuries. Ventura didn't care about how they got their injuries. Mostly focusing on getting their injuries fixed. He would also do at-home calls to gang-related injuries.

Catching the attention of Mr. Nasty. The promise of better pay and a better place to stay lured him away from his "legal" place of business. Working as a doctor making sure the hunters and the actors were fixed up before their performances. After two years of working with Mr. Nasty, they had their own relationship.

Ventura heard of the name of the new actor from Vernon, a Elise Vuumbra. Unlike last time, Ventura was helpless in her disappearance, now he was better, stronger, and this time...

Elise couldn't run away from him.

Entry 111: Robot Devil Xander

Revelation Chapter 20: Seeds of Doubt

The gang comes across a bunch of floating islands, which shocks Elise, even though multiple earlier maps featured floating islands. Anthony, who is not suspicious at all, leads the party over a bridge that collapses, almost killing Takumi. Then enemies appear. This map has bridges between islands you can move with Dragon Veins. Or you can break it with fliers. You can break most late game Revelation maps with fliers.

After the battle, the gang arrives at Anankos’s fortress. Anthony tells them of a back exit and Xander, in a rare moment of intelligence, refuses to because Anthony is sus. Side note, Anthony’s voice is so fucking awful I hate it. Xander threatens to kill Anthony for maybe being a spy, which is a bit extreme, and Corrin stops him. Xander explains that Corrin’s trusting nature is both their greatest strength and most dire weakness, in a real Robot Devil that makes me feel angry moment. Then the chapter just ends without them deciding what to do with Anthony.

Support: Odin/Orochi

C: Odin asks Orochi to divinate his future. Orochi lies and says that he'll lose his magic, unless he finds her a bunch of rare herbs.

B: Odin returns with the herbs, but his magic still doesn't work. Orochi tries and fails to fix Odin's magic problems. Odin realizes Orochi's been lying to him.

A: Orochi apologizes. Odin explains that his magic was actually not working because he was putting too many things into his spells. Orochi asks why Odin became a mage and he says he used to be a blademaster, but got bored. Orochi says she comes from a family of mages.

S: Odin asks Orochi to team up with him in marriage. Orochi says yes because there's no one else like Odin.

Review: At first I thought Odin was messing with Orochi when his magic didn't work and honestly that would have been more interesting. Instead, what we get is surprisingly mediocre Support for such fun characters.

Support: Benny/Hayato

C: Hayato questions Benny about a story of him fighting ten-thousand troops at once. Benny implies this is a tall tale. Hayato vows to be tougher than Benny and never lose to him.

B: Hayato challenges Benny to a courage contest and invites him to walk into a dark cave. Benny refuses and accepts defeat. Hayato boasts about his victory, but can't enter the cave either because he's afraid of the dark. Hayato declares it to be a draw.

A: Hayato says he respects Benny and asks that Benny keep quiet about his fear of the dark. Benny gives Hayato a braveness charm.

Review: Benny continues to be amazing. His stoic personality, dry wit, and kindness make him one of this game's best characters.

Support: Laslow/Saizo

C: Saizo questions why Xander would hire a fop like Laslow as his retainer. Saizo asks where Laslow came from and, when he doesn't answer, attacks him. Laslow runs away.

B: Laslow convinces Saizo that fighting is dumb, and that they should instead have a popularity contest. Everyone likes Saizo more.

A: Saizo, after seeing Laslow protect Ryoma in battle, accepts him as a retainer.

Review: Saizo is a bit aggressive, but overall this is a good Support.

Support: Fuga/Hayato

C: Hayato says he's happy to be fighting alongside Fuga and promises to pay off the debt he owes the chief for adopting him.

B: Fuga teaches Hayato a secret technique and praises Hayato for growing stronger.

A: Hayato beats Fuga with the secret technique. Fuga says he's proud to call Hayato his son.

Review: I don't know why, but this one just does not work. Maybe the pacing's off? I don't know. All I know is I was disappointed.

She takes 165 Officers and Men with her to the bottom; 124 others are rescued. 8 miles off Tarfaya, Morocco, U-66 (IXC) uses her deck gun to sink the French trawler “Joseph Elise.” (No Pic Available - NPA) 1 dead, 11 survivors. Meanwhile, the Allies hit back. 4.5 miles northeast of Cape San Vito, Sicily, the Italian freighter “Pozzuoli” (NPA) is picked off by the sub HMS Turbulent (N98, T-Class, Pic 2); 11 Dead, 16 Survivors. At Norway’s most northern point, 1.5 miles off Porsangerfjord, the Russian sub L-20 (Leninets-Class, sister ship in Pic 3) sinks the German steamer “Othmarschen” (Pic 4) with 4 Dead, 39 Survivors. 90 miles to the southeast, off Vardo, Norway, the Vorpostenboot “Ostwind” (V1165, Polarkries-Class, NPA) is sunk by the Russian sub M-172 (Malyutka-Class, sister ship Pic 5). 45 Dead. The Germans don’t do themselves any favors either – inside Varangerfjord, the Vorpostenboot, “Coronel” (V5909, Seeteufel-Class, NPA) eats a sea mine and sinks; casualties unknown. And… we bleed, too. In the Pacific, the Japanese strike back in the last dying gasps of the Guadalcanal campaign. USS De Haven (DD-469, Fletcher-Class, Pic 6) is jumped by 9 Japanese planes. Her gunners claim 3 but the other 6 strike home. A direct hit on the bridge kills her Captain, 2 others hit, and the concussive force of a near miss rips her hull open. She takes over half her crew – 167 Officers and Men – to the seafloor. 162 others are rescued. We also lose 3 PT Boats in the same area. PT-123 (80-Footer, Elco-Built, sister seen in Pic 7) is also sunk by Japanese planes; they strafe and bomb her helpless survivors in the water, killing 4. PT-37 (Elco 77-footer, sister in Pic 8) and PT-111 (Elco 80', NPA) are ripped apart by the the destroyer “Kawakaze” (Shiratsuyu-Class, Pic 9). Casualties on the PTs unknown. Just another damn day...
