The Magic in Love
I just...I wanted to write, first of all.. And I wanted to write a scene of Anna watching Elsa be beautiful with her magic, and the feelings that come from that. So this is lots of mush and softness and stuff read if you need emotions okay *~~~~~*~~~~~* "Wow! She's amazing, isn't she?" "Look at her magic! She can do so much!" "Oh oh! You missed it, she made the reindeer statue skate!" The corners of Anna's mouth tugged upwards in yet another smile as she listened to the words of those around her. Indeed, her sister was impressive to watch, something Anna never tired of doing. How could she when Elsa spun around the way she did and shot sparkling ice from her seemingly dainty fingertips, manipulating such power to her own will?
She had to admit that tonight's particular scene was intensified by the beating of drums from the Northuldra. Elsa danced in time along with a few members of the tribe, her white dress and cape sleeves whirling in the soft glow of street lanterns. The various diamonds and bits of ice that adorned her clothes almost seemed too showy, but then she would slow down with the rhythm and cross her arms over herself, hands stroking down her own arms as tendrils of ice wrapped around them. Her head bowed down, dress only moving with the breeze. Ice crystals manifested in the air all around and turned serenely. They made no sound but Anna still felt a gentle chime in her bones, something soothing and almost alarming at the same time.
There were 'oohs' and 'aahs' all around as Arendellians and Northuldrans alike were impressed. Even the children who played on the ice playground and animals that Elsa created for them had to stop and take in the scene. No one could turn away from what they saw. Had time stopped?
Anna felt like the luckiest girl in the world.
The music began to speed back up. Elsa brought her head back up with such a brilliant smile that it went straight to Anna's heart. Her blue eyes sparkled and her gaze centered on Anna, who met it right back with a knowing look.
Sure, the dance and the show was for the people of their kingdom, of their huge home. It was for those they held dear and wanted to nurture, wanted to protect. The queens strived to do all they could for their people, from hours of meetings and signing documents to entertainment - both mingling and shaking hands, to putting their abilities and joy on display.
As much as they shared - they also had their own beauty that they kept between themselves.
The smile that Elsa directed at Anna was the same beautiful smile she greeted her with every morning when Anna groggily woke up. Elsa's enchanting eyes met Anna's at night when they laid together in their bed and Elsa told her she looked beautiful.
When Anna looked at the ice crystals in the air, she did see the admiration in the eyes of the audience. She also saw the light from the fireplace dancing off of them as they hugged the wall of their room and Elsa brushed her red hair with one of her many fancy brushes.
Elsa's own hair swirled with her as she began to pick up the dance in earnest, and so Anna's thoughts jumped again. Anna knew the feeling of that light blonde, nearly white hair draped on either side of her head like a curtain. Sometimes the ends would slide down over her shoulders and the light touch would tickle. When she giggled, Elsa found it hard not to giggle back before her lips pecked every bit of Anna's freckled face. It would make Anna giggle even more and wiggle under her, which she knew was Elsa's goal all along.
"How does she do that!?"
"Oooh pretty lights!"
Another chorus of gasps sounded around Anna as Elsa raised her arms up quickly and as she did, ice rose sharply from the ground beneath as if on marionette strings. Each piece had a glow about it, some white, some purple, and some blue. Anna never asked why Elsa had such color abilities, but she didn't care.
Elsa would create glowing ice around their room, sometimes surrounding Anna when she lay in the bed without a shred of fabric on her. When Elsa made her glow like that Anna could feel it coming from her heart in return. Each time, she was overcome with the sense that she never knew she could feel the way she did in that moment, with Elsa sighing over her.
A few loud bangs on the drums pulled Anna momentarily from her thoughts along with applause. They were reaching the climax of the dance, and maybe soon the end of the night. Anna was hit with a familiar feeling of excitement for the finish, and never wanting it to reach that point.
Flurries of glimmering snow shot from Elsa's fingers, and minor blasts from her hands. There was care and control to each show of magic, presented to dazzle everyone around. Those hands never failed to deliver and Anna shivered thinking about how Elsa's fingers would trace icy patterns over her skin. She would trace flowery designs down her stomach and legs, gaze flickering up now and then to watch Anna watching her. Anna couldn't take her eyes off her and Elsa was all too aware of that.
Then those hands would cup Anna's face, the cool touch a welcome relief to the heat that was almost always reddening her cheeks. The frozen pads of her fingers would skim over Anna's parted lips as Elsa took her time watching her, studying her. She would sometimes do it for quite a while. Anna didn't care if Elsa was making her body a work of art or simply looking at her - she didn't want it to end.
After all that time and with how much she loved her sister, she couldn't stand for it to end.
It always did, and as such, the dance came to a sudden striking end as she shot a massive blast of ice into the air to explode into several large snowflakes. They stood out strikingly against the dying light of the day and everyone gasped, yet again. Then they clapped and yelled and Elsa's body relaxed, as did her fellow Northuldran performers. Once again a celebration had come to a joyful finish, at least for the time being. Undoubtedly, people would party into the night as they always did.
Anna knew she and Elsa would, whether or not in would include the soft glows and smiles or glasses of wine with a choice circle of guests. As much as she fantasized during the dance - she was happy to be with Elsa no matter what they were up to.
Not one to wait and let others compliment her first, Anna rushed forward from her place with most of the royal council. She hurried so much she tripped over her own two feet and stumbled right into a surprised Elsa's arms before hugging her so tight that the blonde made a strangled huff.
"That was amazing! You're amazing!" Anna told her excitedly, smooshing their cheeks together. "Everything about that was just do beau-perfifull..ack..." Of course she was tongue-tied within seconds. That always happened, too, no matter what she did. She could think all the coherent, enchanting thoughts she wanted, but rarely did anything end up coming out smoothly.
As usual, it made Elsa laugh, which was music to Anna's ears. Some things never did change - and she was beyond thankful for it.

Charades and a Drink (A Post-Frozen 2 ficlet)
Wrote this cause I really miss writing about fluff/angst. Doesn’t really have anything to do with my other fic. Just had the urge to write this prompt. Hope you guys enjoy it. May continue it. Idk. Link for the fic on ffn is here.
Charades.
This was the third round in a row where she had failed to obtain any points for her and Anna's team. She was bad at this game. She knew it. And seriously, three bouts in a row with no progress? She couldn't quite believe it herself.
But it wasn't her fault that she was so...distracted. It wasn't quite like last time when there was a melodious voice persistently invading her thoughts. This time it was something far more down to earth.
Kristoff was being more touchy with Anna than usual.
Not that it bothered her.
They were engaged now. It would make perfect sense if he wanted to be more forward.
It was just…
Ever since she returned from the enchanted forest earlier that morning, she couldn't help but focus on these details in their interactions.
And if she had to be perfectly honest, it made her feel...sad?
Jealous even?
She didn't quite understand it herself.
"Snow?! This one was so easy! It's basically the same thing as ice!" Anna complained as she reviewed the word that Elsa had been struggling with the entire round.
Anna wasn't mad at Elsa per se. She was just over competitive, and frankly she was tired of Olaf and Kristoff always winning. She really wanted to win at least once tonight.
"I'm sorry." Elsa apologized in embarrassment. "Maybe you should play without me. I'm really not good at these kinds of games. I'm sure one of the servants would be happy to join you if you asked."
"Elsa wait-"
"It's really not a big deal, Anna." She assured the younger girl. "I think you would have a lot more fun playing with Kai. I'll go get him real quick."
Elsa began heading for the door to go fetch the said servant, but not before Anna lunged off the couch to grab a hold of her arm.
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to yell. I really don't care about winning or not. Just...please don't leave me." Anna wrapped her arms around her waist and hugged her tightly, and for a second Elsa swore she heard the younger girl whimper.
"I...okay, I won't leave." Elsa responded while patting the younger girl's head, but was then shocked to find that Anna really was crying. She swallowed suddenly, not sure what had gotten into the other girl, but she reached down to cup her sister's cheeks and caressed them softly.
"Hey." She said, bringing Anna's face close to hers so that their foreheads were touching. "I'm not going anywhere. I promise."
Anna hiccuped and nodded, burying herself again into Elsa's chest.
Kristoff looked back and forth between the two of them.
"We'll give you two some alone time. Come on, guys." Kristoff got up and signaled for Sven and Olaf to follow.
"Wait...are you sure?" Elsa asked. "I didn't mean to take you guys away from your game…" She said guiltily.
"It's fine, Elsa. You two should really have the rest of the night to yourselves. Isn't that right, Olaf?"
"Yup! Me and Elsa definitely need some alone time together." The snowman joked, inching away cheekily from the ice harvester.
"Not quite on the mark there buddy." Kristoff said before dragging Olaf out of the room with him. The door shut behind them, and Elsa was left in the silence with Anna still cuddled up against her.
"Anna?" She rubbed the top of the girl's head gently.
"I missed you."
Elsa smiled softly at that. "I missed you too, sis."
It had merely been two weeks since she had decided to live away from the castle. Realistically, it shouldn't have been anything worth crying over, and it certainly paled in comparison to how long they had been apart from before.
But Elsa would be lying if she said she didn't miss home.
Some nights she found herself crying herself to sleep.
The living conditions had been rough. She wasn't used to not having servants around at all times, and not having meals prepared for her at the earliest convenience. It was different, and the comforting lifestyle that she had grown accustomed to was no longer present.
But the reason she had cried wasn't because of the change in living standards. Those factors were trivial, things she could adapt to, get used to.
The reason she had cried...it was because she didn't have moments like this anymore.
Moments with Anna.
It made more of a difference to her than she was willing to admit.
Can I really keep doing this?
She wrapped her arms tight around Anna, suddenly struck with the need to cheer up the younger girl's spirits as soon as possible.
"Do you want to sleep with me tonight?" Elsa proposed.
Anna looked up at her gratefully and nodded.
-----------------------
She wondered if it was really okay to be drinking wine at this hour, and in all honesty, she had never seen Anna drink before. Whether the younger girl was a lightweight remained an absolute mystery to her.
But Anna had proposed that they ask for a bottle. It was her first time back after all. And they were having such a good time in their room; sharing stories, making jokes, reminiscing on the past, Elsa didn't have the heart to reject her beloved sister's request.
So here they were now. Merely on their second glass, and Elsa was already starting to see the alcohol take effect on her poor lightweight Anna.
"Too much to drink? Already?" Elsa teased.
Anna pouted, her face flushed red, from the alcohol or embarrassment, Elsa couldn't tell anymore. "Jus because your perfect at everything, doesn't mean I a-am."
Elsa smiled softly. "I'm far from perfect, sis."
"You're perfect to me." Anna said before grabbing Elsa's waist from behind and cuddling up against her back.
Elsa chuckled, more or less endeared by the drunk display of affection.
"Well you should definitely work on that tolerance. It wouldn't be proper for a queen to act like this at formal occasions. You never know when other dignitaries will ask for a toast." She joked. Mostly.
Anna was quiet and still. Not responding to what she had said in the slightest.
Did she fall asleep?
"Anna?"
"I don't want to be queen."
It was so quiet, barely above a whisper that Elsa almost didn't make it out. But Anna's attitude had changed almost entirely from their previous exchange.
"What do you-"
"I don't want to be queen." She repeated.
Elsa blinked, taken aback, and then laughed softly, turning around and taking Anna's hand into her own. "I think you've had enough to drink for the night. All that wine has you thinking out of sorts."
But Anna wouldn't back down apparently, not after opening up as much as she had. Before Elsa had time to react, Anna was pushing Elsa onto the floor so that she was on top.
Elsa's heart leapt into her throat at their position. "Anna-"
She felt Anna's hands come down to caress both sides of her face, gently, as if she were an art sculpture that could break at a moment's notice. She was so close, their noses almost touching, and Elsa could clearly make out the precise shade of teal in Anna's eyes. She was suddenly filled with a strange desire to close the distance between them in some way.
But Anna was crying again, silently, tears streaking down her cheeks to eventually fall onto her own pale skin. Elsa could do nothing but remain silent and watch, praying that the tears weren't there because of her.
But that was unlikely.
"Why did you push me away?"
Elsa's eyes went wide.
"What?"
"You said we would be together didn't you? So why...why do you still feel so far away?"
The question struck deep within her soul, forcing Elsa to confront the issue that she herself had been admittedly running away from.
Why was she always running?
Why was Anna always crying?
Strangely enough, she found herself trying to answer Anna's question. Maybe the wine was starting to get to her too.
"I-I dont know." She admitted. "I thought that you deserved it. To be queen, I mean. And...you just got engaged. I thought it was the right timing for something like this."
"And...and I'm the fifth spirit." She continued half heartedly. "I should be out there...in the forest. That's where I belong."
Anna stared at her sternly.
"Do you really believe that?"
Did she?
Of course not. But it was something that she had lied about before, and it would've been better if she just lied about it again.
Yet for some odd reason, she couldn't bring herself to say it this time.
"I-"
"Do you love me?"
What?
"O-of course I do."
Anna leaned in close, to the point where Elsa could feel the younger girl's breath fanning over her cheeks.
Her heart stopped at Anna's next words.
"Do you want to be with me?"
Elsa found herself trapped under Anna's earnest gaze. Yet her mind was clear, and the answer held there was without a doubt how she really felt.
She nodded.
"Then stay…" Anna whispered. "Stay with me Elsa."
"Because I can't live another day without you."
A heartbeat.
And then...
Anna inched forward and kissed her.
Elsa was frozen. Shocked.
But to her own growing surprise, a single thought dominated in her conscience.
Her lips are warm.
Slowly but surely…
Elsa kissed back.
A minute passed before they broke away together. Anna leaned back, staring into Elsa's eyes. Nothing was said between them, and nothing needed to be in that moment, until Anna finally brought her head down and rested it against the older girl's chest.
Elsa's heart was beating rapidly. Faster than she had ever experienced before. Faster than she probably wanted.
Words were threatening to leave her lips, and she wanted so badly to just let herself be open.
So badly for once in her life to put her guard down.
And so she did.
"I love you, Anna." She choked out tearfully. "So much that it scares me. I don't know what to do anymore." She admitted.
Anna remained silent, and so Elsa continued.
"But I do know that whatever happens, I want to be together with you. I should've never pushed you away…"
"And I'm sorry."
"Will you forgive me?"
Elsa waited for a response, but again Anna said nothing.
Was Anna still mad at her?
But then she heard it, a deep rhythmic breathing, serene, puffing gently against her chest.
Anna had fallen asleep.
Elsa stared, mouth agape at the resting form of her sister. Had she been talking to herself? And for how long? Embarrassment flooded her cheeks to a dark shade of red.
She really is a lightweight.
Steering herself, Elsa gathered Anna into her arms from the floor and gently brought her to her bed, pulling back the sheets, and tucking the younger girl in.
She sat there next to her. Her thoughts to herself, and her mind simply trying to wrap around everything that had happened in the past hour. Eventually, she laid down next to Anna and stared up at the ceiling.
Her tiredness got the better of her, and Elsa found her eyes slowly shutting, submitting to the gentle lull of sleep.
But moments before sleep consumed her, a thought made its way to the forefront of her mind.
The truth.
I want to kiss her again.
-----------------------
Elsa found Anna the next morning in the dining hall.
"Morning Els!" Anna smiled cheerfully.
"M-morning." Elsa replied shyly. She wasn't exactly sure what to expect from this conversation, but Anna's cheerfulness must've meant that things were okay right? She decided to go along with it. "I'm surprised to see you awake before me for once."
"I know right. I must've gone to bed really early last night."
Anna's words gave her pause.
"Y-you don't remember?" Elsa asked.
"Remember what?" Elsa's shocked expression made Anna gasp in realization. "Oh no. Did I drink again?"
"Y-yeah…"
"Oh god, I didn't do anything stupid did I?" Anna laughed in embarrassment. "I'm sorry if I did, I never remember anything after I drink. I really need to stay away from the wine."
"Nothing happened." Elsa lied. "I just...I'm surprised that you don't remember anything…"
Surprised was selling it short.
Disappointed.
Heartbroken.
Anna must've noticed her change in expression. "Elsa? You okay?"
She really wasn't okay.
She was surprised herself, just how disappointed she felt.
What did you expect? That something would come out of this?
Of course she wouldn't remember. She was drunk for Christ's sake.
Why would you get this excited from an accidental kiss with your sister?
You're sick.
There's something wrong with you.
Her inner thoughts tormented her, to the point where she had the immediate urge to cry, but on the outside she forced a thin smile, an act that she had practiced for years to a near perfection.
Elsa hated doing it.
She absolutely hated lying to Anna.
"I'm fine."
But old habits died hard.
Especially when you were in love with your sister.
-----------------------
"Anna!"
Kristoff found her in the halls of the castle. She had just returned from seeing Elsa off at the docks.
"Did Elsa already leave?" Kristoff asked.
"Mhm. I just saw her off."
"Ah bummer. Wish I could've said bye to her at least."
"It's okay." She said cheerfully. "She'll be back before you know it."
Wistfully, she turned her attention to the window, staring out at the fjord, wondering if she could see Elsa riding on Nokk from all the way up here.
"You miss her already, don't you?"
"Hm?" Anna perked up. "I'm okay. I mean I have you here after all!"
Kristoff smiled at the gesture, and leaned down to capture Anna's lips in a kiss.
They stayed that way until Anna broke away first. She smiled politely up at him afterwards.
"I have some work I need to get done. I'll meet up with you later, okay?"
Kristoff nodded, and she made her way around the corner of the halls where she wouldn't be seen.
Once she was out of sight she pressed her back against the wall and fell to the floor.
She tried to forget it. If she could lie to Elsa about it, then surely she could lie to herself.
But love wasn't something so easily forgotten.
Throughout the entirety of her kiss with Kristoff, she had only thought of one thing.
She wanted to kiss Elsa again.

Misdelivered.
Honestly, not sure how I feel about this one, but eh.
_____
Dead leaves littered the beige countertop.  The sound of snipping scissors could be heard throughout the tiny flower shop.  After a few moments, the scissors were gently placed on the counter beside the bouquet of daisies.  Slender, fair-skinned hands slid around the glass vase that the daisies resided in and lifted it from the counter.  Tapping sounds entered the air as a slender redheaded woman made her way to the window at the front of the shop.  Carefully, she set the vase down on the sill next to a bouquet of petunias. A few stray strands of copper hair fell against freckled cheeks as she turned the vase, just a tad to the right.
Releasing it, she let her dirt-covered hands rest against the indent that made up her waist as she inspected her work.   Satisfied, she raised an arm to wipe the sweat from her brow, frowning when she realized she had managed to get dirt in the green fabric of her long-sleeved shirt.  With a shrug, the young woman took a few sliding steps to her right.  She delved into her pocket and rummaged before removing a keychain.  She slid the key into the lock, unlatching it while using her free hand to flip the sign to open.  A head full of almond brown hair poked itself around the wall that stood behind the counter.
“Anna, did you send out that order for a dozen orange roses coupled with pink yesterday?” Belle asked, cocking a brow.  The woman deemed Anna nodded gently as she strolled back to the front, rounding the corner of the counter.  She brushed back the strands of hair that swayed against her face, a bit annoyed that they had managed to escape the loose braid that lay against her back.
“Yeah!  They should have arrived in time!  That weasel guy was very adamant about precise arrival,” Anna replied.  She retrieved the clipboard that contained her to-do list for the day.
“Good.  And you did it without breaking any vases this time, right?” Belle asked, causing red to encase Anna’s face.
“Yes, ma’am.  I’ve been moving at a slower pace when I handle them.  I swear.  I’m sorry for being such a klutz,” Anna murmured to her manager, who replied with a hearty laugh.
“Don’t worry about it, Anna. I’m just teasing you. Make sure to check the coolers to see they are remaining at the correct temperature.  I need to make a quick delivery,” Belle instructed before ducking back around the counter.  Anna rolled her eyes but obliged, making her way to the coolers on the right side of the shop.  She may be clumsy and break at least one vase a week, but she knew the routine. Grasping a handle, she tugged open the glass door.  Bending at the waist, Anna stuck her head in, pushing aside a pot of flowers to get at the thermometer that was pinned to the very back of the cooler.  It was one of her least enjoyable tasks.
With her head buried between pots, Anna couldn’t hear the bell above the front door ding as a customer entered the shop.  She had found out that the thermometer had decided to take a journey to the far corner of the shelf and stuck an arm in beside her head to retrieve the damn thing. Engrossed in the tedious task, she also didn’t hear the footsteps that approached and stopped beside her.  Her fingers finally closed around the thermometer.  Success!
“Uhm, excuse me?” Anna’s head shot up and immediately banged against the shelf above it as she was startled by the feminine voice breaking the ambience of the silent shop.  A string of curses flew quietly from Anna’s lips as she jerked her head and arm from the shelf of the cooler to observe the cause of the forming bump on her head.  When her eyes landed on the disturbance, her mouth fell slightly agape and the grip she currently had on the thermometer tightened.  Somewhere in the back of her mind, Anna registered pain shooting from her palm as the sharp corners of the thermometer pricked against her skin.
Before her was a woman who stood a few inches taller than Anna.  Her form was…svelte, even though she was wearing a light blue, button-up blouse and a pair of khaki-colored capris that had little blue bows on the hem of the legs.  Anna noted that, even though the blouse was loose-fitted, it did nothing to hide the delectable curves beneath the fabric.   Anna’s gaze traveled back up and her mouth parted.  Blonde hair shaded similarly to ash was collected in a partial braid while the rest gently fell against a pale, elegant face.  Prominent cheekbones, a regal jawline, and just a light dusting of barely-there freckles.  What froze Anna on the spot, though were the piercing blue eyes that returned her observing gaze.  A kempt blonde brow arched as if the woman was waiting for a response… Anna, you dolt. Wipe the drool of your chin and address the customer!  Anna straightened herself before brushing the invading free strands of hair from her heated face.
“Hi! Hello, I’m sorry!  I wasn’t trying to ignore you or anything.  Kinda’ hard to hear anything when your head in shoved inside of a cooler. I just had to check out the temp and the thermometer had escaped so I was- “Anna cut herself off, not believing her face could heat up anymore than it already was.
“Anyway! Welcome to The Flower Cottage!  I’m Anna! What can I help you with today?” Anna quickly spouted.  The taller woman lowered her gaze to her own arms while Anna followed suit, realizing the former held two vases of roses.
“Uhm.. well, I think there’s been a mistake.  I received these bouquets yesterday, but I’m most positive they were not meant for me. Unless I’ve changed my name to Duchess and it completely slipped my mind,” the woman ended her response with a light chuckle that had Anna’s head spinning.
“But it seems to be a simple mistake as there’s really only a slight difference between this address and mine.  Well, aside from the fact that this address is clear across town,” the woman continued. Anna’s heart fell at the realization that, even though she had completed the delivery yesterday, she had it sent to the wrong house.  Quickly, she swirled and tossed the thermometer haphazardly back into the cooler before slamming the door shut.  She shoved her clipboard beneath her arm.
“I’m so sorry for the inconvenience!  Here, let me take those from you!” Anna offered, extending her arms in front of her and taking a couple steps toward the woman.  Be it from nervousness or just the fact that she was inherently clumsy, Anna tripped over her own feet and found herself falling forward.  There was a crash that sounded throughout the store.
Anna wanted to disappear from existence itself when she finally gathered her bearings and realized she was now sprawled across the pretty woman’s lap.  Water pooled around them, the shattered glass, and strewn about roses.  Anna was even more embarrassed to see that some of the water had even managed to splash onto the woman’s blouse, causing it to cling tightly to her body.  Anna’s gaze traveled upwards to meet the customer’s. She expected pure rage and was a little stumped to find laughter dancing in the blue eyes.
“Oh, my Gods, I’m such a klutz!  I’m so so sorry!” Anna cried out, scrambling backwards, and rushing to her feet.  She threw her arm out in front of her, and the blonde accepted it.  Anna’s heart pounded when a cold hand closed around her own and she assisted the woman to her feet.  Dropping the hand, Anna began to wring her own together nervously.
“Accidents happen, Anna,” the woman said, glancing down to inspect the severity of wet fabric.  And, Gods, if this beautiful stranger saying her name didn’t send shivers down her spine…
“First, I send flowers to the wrong address.  Then I knock over a gorgeous woman and break more vases in the process!”  Anna cried out, gesturing vaguely toward the mess.
“Let me make it up to you! I can give you some coupons, or send you home with a fresh bouquet of personally picked flowers, or take you out to dinner-“Anna halted her blabbering words again.  Wait, did I just ask this woman out?  Straightening her blouse, the exquisite person before Anna locked eyes with her.
“My name is Elsa,” the woman said in response to Anna’s almost incoherent babbling before bending over and beginning to collect the scattered flowers.  Anna was glued in place, mouth opening and closing as a fish would, unsure of what just happened.
“Wait… What...?  Your name is… Elsa?” Anna asked, furrowing her brow in confusion as the woman called Elsa straightened with another cocked brow and hands full of roses.
“I think it’s fair that the woman who’s taking me to dinner should know my name,” she said simply, reaching out with a rose in her hand toward Anna.  Anna couldn’t help the dopey grin that crossed her face as she accepted the rose.
“Thank Gods for small mistakes.”

Solicitously
At this time of night, the deeper sections of the castle are practically abandoned. There are patrols, of course – guards walking the darkened hallways at even intervals – but the residences are placed behind several already protected entry points, and so the need for security lessens the closer one gets to them. The fact that Arendelle as a nation is at peace and has been for years doesn’t hurt, either.
Anna knows this, and so sheds her cloak unconcernedly as she walks; eyeing the heavy material in the faint glow from the moon and making a mental note to have it sent off for mending and re-waxing sometime in the morning. The practical dress she’s wearing probably needs some attention too, and she smiles at the knowledge that there’ll be plenty of gentle ribbing from her sister over what she can do to even the sturdiest of materials in no more than a few days.
Which reminds her of another mental note she needs to make: definitely don’t mention the wolves. Not until the morning, at any rate, where the bandages will undoubtedly be a little harder to hide.
For now, though, the lateness of the hour means that Elsa is presumably sound asleep, and while Anna has every intention of seeking her out, she doesn’t plan on actually waking her if she can help it. For one, she’s exhausted, and if Elsa notices her – admittedly numerous, but ultimately superficial – injuries, chances are that neither of them will be sleeping until she’s been thoroughly checked over by at least three different physicians. Twice.
Solicitous. That’s a fine word to describe Elsa in many aspects, but especially so where Anna is concerned. And she loves it; she really does - it’s hard to be starved for someone’s affection for over a decade and then not enjoy suddenly receiving more of it than she ever dreamed of – but she also worries that in many ways, Elsa is overcompensating out of some lingering sense of guilt.
That, Anna isn’t too happy with. But the road is long and they’re still walking it, so she enters the queen’s chambers, closes the door gently behind her and – after a glance through a wide doorway and a tired smile for the somnolent figure curled up on the bed – sneaks a nightgown from the wardrobe and slips into the adjoining bath.
Cleaning the travel dust off takes a little longer than normal since she has to work around several sections of bandaged skin, but she manages with a wet, fluffy piece of cloth and a basin of water that at least ends up running grayish brown rather than pink. The bandages themselves are pristine, she determines under the gentle glow of the lamp she lit, though a few them have admittedly been changed at least once since she originally got them. The bruise spreading across one side of her jaw – given to her by a stray, low branch during a particularly spirited chase – is… well, is part of the reason why she’s glad to be getting home now, and not during daylight hours.
She’s barely keeping her eyes open when she puts out the lamp and leaves the bath behind, and ends up draping her traveling clothes over the back of the nearest chair because she honestly can’t be bothered to take even a two-foot detour between here and the bed. The night gown she chose is full-length and long-sleeved to do that much more to hide the dressings, and she takes care to keep it covering her legs as she slips under the covers and curls around Elsa’s back; one arm slipping around her sister’s waist until she can catch her hand and twine their fingers.
It barely takes half a breath before the hand in her own is twitching, and then Elsa is turning before she’s even fully conscious.
“Anna,” she murmurs, and tugs her closer with a sleepy little sigh. “You’re home early.”
“Mmhm.” Anna burrows deeper into those familiar arms with a soft hum; sighing contentedly as the hold around her tightens and tracing a slow return touch over the side of her sister’s waist. She blames her next words on the fact that her brain has already fallen asleep, and maybe a little on how Elsa’s nearness and scent tend to make her forget how to filter herself. “Did you know the wolves have pups this time of year?”
One second passes, then two, and then: “Wolves?!”
More appropriately: rats. Anna groans and tightens her own hold because Elsa’s voice has gone from sleep-hoarse and lazy to wide awake, and she’s pretty sure that the only thing keeping her sister from leaping out of bed is the fact that Anna is laying half on top of her. “Elsa, no,” she mutters, and consciously makes herself lie there a little more heavily. “I’m fine. You can personally verify that by checking every last injury. Tomorrow.”
She doesn’t even need to look to identify the incredulous expression. “Tomor—”
Anna kisses her because that usually works. Gently, though; her fingers finding the curve of Elsa’s jaw when their lips meet, sliding down to caress the side of her throat when the contact deepens and – when the hand clenched into a tight fist around a fold of her own night gown relaxes – further back until she can bury her hand in soft, pale hair.
“I’m fine,” she whispers against Elsa’s mouth, and kisses her again. “I’m okay. I promise.”
Elsa’s sigh sounds more than a little exasperated to Anna’s trained ears, but the tension seeps from her body all the same, and the fingers that find Anna’s cheek are cool and gentle against her skin. “I do wish you’d stop getting injured.”
That makes her smile, and it only widens when her eyes slit open to see Elsa watching her. “I know. I don’t do it on purpose; honest.”
“Yes, you do,” is the fond reply, which is followed by another light kiss. “Just to aggravate me.”
“Uh-huh.” Anna noses her. “So you get to aggravate me back by hand-picking the physicians who can look me over and repeat my own words back to you, right?” Pause. “In the morning.”
She earns another sigh for that. “Alright,” Elsa promises; settling back into the pillows and letting Anna nuzzle into the crook of her shoulder before kissing the top of her head. “Tomorrow, then.”

Just another day just another nightmare
Elsa's glacier blue eyes stare wide, tears brimming threatening to spill over. She was shivering intensely, unable to avert her eyes from the scene unfolding before her. Anna, hunched over, armored metal torso punctured by a sinister black blade. The Queen chokes as she cries out, falling forward, ice and frost exploding out then settling, blanketing everything in light blues and whites. "ANNA" she screams out, tears pouring down her face in rivulets as she pulls herself over to the red headed knight. Anna sputters slightly, a thin line of blood leaking from the edge of her mouth. She smiles, reaching a hand up to cup Elsa's cheek. The queen presses a hand to the injured knights wound, tears continuing to pour out and down her regal face. Elsa's eyes slip shut, the world suddenly tilting and going black. Glacier blue eyes pop open, darting about the room Elsa now finds herself in. She bolts into an upright position, fingers threading through her platinum blond hair. "A-Anna.." she croaks out, tossing the blankets from her freshly awakened body and springing forth from her bed as fast as she could manage. The dream had been surreal, as if she'd been plunged into another reality parallel to her own. It had been a nightmare, and nothing but, surely. All the same she dashed from her bed chambers and down the corridor to Anna's rooms. Elsa doesn't bother knocking, throwing the door open as she calls out for the one person she has left in the world. Fear grips her voice, forcing it to crack. "A-Anna?!" The queen hangs slightly off the door way, frost creeping covering the floor and creeping along the wall. The blonde makes her way over to Anna's bed, quickly dashing away the tears from her eyes. She's trembling tremendously as she looks down at her sleeping princess, letting out a breath she rubs her eyes trying to push the nightmare from her mind. Anna squirms slightly in her sleep, slowly waking and rolling to her side. She groggily opens her eyes and looks up at Elsa with a puzzled expression. "Els? Wha?" The wild haired princess sits up rubbing the sleep from her right eye attempting to wake herself further. Elsa swallows thickly, looking down at her hands, willing the tears that are welling up in her eyes to stop. "Oh, Elsa..'nother nightmare?" Anna says softly, voice slightly gruff from sleep. The elder woman nods slightly, the tears slipping out and down her face once more. Reaching out, Anna gently takes hold of one of Elsa's hands and pulls her onto the bed and into her arms. She holds the queen close, tenderly combing her fingers through platinum tresses. "Sh, sh, it's okay Elsa, it's alright. It was only a nightmare. Just a dream...it's okay." Anna soothed the distressed queen, pressing gentle loving kisses to the top of her head, forehead, cheeks, occasionally a peck to her lips as well. Elsa buries herself into the warm embrace, basking in the love and warmth offered to her by the princess. She tried not to dwell on how real the dream felt, only thankful that it was only a dream. Anna wasn't a knight, she wasn't decked in armor, she hadn't been stabbed in the stomach. She was okay. She was safe and sound, curled beneath her, holding her, reassuring her that everything was okay. It was just another day. It was just another nightmare. *waves* heya! So um....I've been on hiatus for a while...sorry about that. There's um, not really a reason or excuse or anything I just, idk. This is an apology for the hiatus I suppose, hope y'all enjoyed it! I've kinda been a little on the blank side of things lately, if anyone has any ideas for things, lemme know! Please. I'm begging you

Unashamed - a Ficlet for Elsanna Week
Their love has no words.
Even the words and phrases that slipped from mind to mind, heart to heart, tongue to tongue between them – slipped like silver, like ice-silver most sacred in Ahtohallan, like silver-rose and rose-wonder, like all the beauties that awed Elsa’s eyes – even the awe she could not encompass in words there, even the word “indescribability” could not encase their love…
Their love is hungered kisses – passionate, greedy, passing oxygen to one another, life-warmth, life-heat – selfish? let them be selfish, they have lived for others for so long, lived as in shells of themselves, let them have this….
Intoxication – taste of lips – suckling skin, life-warmth becoming life-heat –
Intoxication? no, for intoxication is inebriation, and their love is clarity –
They are in control of themselves, and this is theirs –
Friction of flesh bursting into flame – hell-flame by other tongues, other voices, other words –
No, no other’s words get to define them, they will not let it, they shall not –
That is not tyranny. That is –
Hell’s tongues hang suspended, hewn, bleeding flames –
Tongues of flame to consume them –
Frozen –
Icicles with edges that still seem alive, ready to burn…
Consuming flames, made beautiful –
Hell’s antechamber becomes a silvered garden, garden of jewels, diamond-stars…
Two hands entwining, artists’ hands…
Artists’. Not artist’s. For Elsa’s art is as Anna’s art and Anna’s art as Elsa’s…
Hell cannot touch them.
Hell has not the power.
Adam winds a cloth around Eve’s shoulders.
Protection from the chill.
Fall.
Loss of Eden.
Words.
Adam winds a cloth around Eve’s shoulders – and in that act is hope, not the yawning mouth of sin.
Fall.
Word.
Ascension.
Hope is not sin – and if any say otherwise, hell can take them.
Elsa and Anna, in their ice-garden, shall watch them burn…

Stylish
Sophisticated and alluring.
Those were the first two words that immediately came to Anna’s head when she had to describe the blonde.
Tall, sophisticated, and so very alluring. It was magnetic, in a sense. Anna could be in a place full of people, doing a hundred different things and her eyes would still wander in Elsa’s direction from time to time, fully aware of her presence.
“Ok, but what is the real point of this jacket?” Elsa looked at her reflection on the mirror, strategically set of one of the store columns, her monochromatic blazer set aside for the moment. “The raincoat feature gets completely lost when this only reaches the waist.”
Anna, who just noticed she’d been staring for maybe more than necessary, only shrugged in response. She got behind Elsa, standing on her tiptoes to look like she was the taller one for once. Truth to be told, Anna was only half a head shorter than Elsa, but Elsa was the type of person that looked taller, somehow.
“It’s a matter of posture”, she’d say, but sometimes Anna just liked to tease with heights.
“Wait, lemme just--” Both of them watched her reflection gently tugging at the jacket from the shoulders, revealing Elsa’s spaghetti straps from her sky-blue tank top, and her collarbone that Anna swore sometimes looked like marble. Off shoulder, that was how the model in the promo pictures wore it. “There, that fits you better.”
Elsa’s reflection raised a very skeptical eyebrow.
Anna rolled her eyes.
“It’s silly fashion! It doesn’t have to be practical. And, you know, it’s good to get out of the comfort zone every now and then!”
“Is that why you’re wearing that ridiculous coat?”
“Exactly! Now I’m a pretentious old lady.” She stood to the side and struck a pose, raising her shoulders halfway up to her neck, between long faux fur and red and black stripes. “Now get me your strongest perfume at the cheapest price while I complain about the lazy youth,” she said in an exaggerated accent, pursing her lips.
Elsa held a hand to her mouth to her hide her laugh. “You’re never gonna let that go, are you?”
“Not when she comes so often to the store, nu-uh.” Anna crossed her arms and closed her eyes with a childish pout. “Last time I ended up pretending I was busy not to assist that woman. I swear she enjoys pushing my buttons.”
"You're incorrigible sometimes."
"You love me anyway," said Anna, with a shrug of her shoulders that seemed bigger than it was because of the oversized coat she was wearing. But it drove the point home, and they were just playing around. Elsa had always lent an ear and a sympathetic smile every time Anna complained about rude customers. And a sandwich. Those were important, too.
Playing or not, Elsa's eyes lingered on her for more than usual conversational timing, as if her barely concealed smile could also hide that little spark on icy blue eyes tracing all over her with unspoken affection. It made Anna's stomach flip on itself and burst into butterflies as if she was a teenager all over again.
Elsa's smile turned into a full one, and she looked sideways with a little bit of embarrassment when she realized what she was doing.
"Touché."

This lil ficlet has been sitting halfway done in my drafts since march, after spending five consecutive days obsessively reading (unrelated) Elsanna fanfics and, shit-- I don't even ship them ship them, but they make a great duo and it never crossed my mind to think that there was gonna be such huge amount of fanfics lmao. So, I just had to write these two gays trying on jackets at Falabella with Loona playing in the background lol.
I wanted to make it at least 1k, but I’m outta ideas (I accept suggestions if you happen to have any!), and since my usual deal is Hurt/comfort, I just wanted to prove myself that I could write normal-ish fluffy-ish stuff. To me this is a nice change of peace! So woo /0/!

Opinions on Olaf, Marshmallow, and the Snowgies?
I have a love/hate relationship with Olaf. I think it all depends on the scene and what’s going on. There are parts of Frozen and OFA that I don’t care for much when he’s the main focus. He does make for good comic relief though, especially in FF. However, writing for him in fanfics is hard for me. Olaf is practically like a child and doesn’t know much about the harsh realities of the world around him, it’s hard to turn him more serious while also juggling him being the comic relief.
Marshy, oh Marshy. Poor, misunderstood snow monster. He just wants to protect his ice palace home and all these humans throw snow and sticks at him and turn him into the icy incredible Hulk. I think deep down he’s this huge softy. I mean, we all saw the look of pure joy and happiness when he put on Elsa’s crown. I love that he finally gets to be the queen he’s always wanted to be.
The snowgies are just little terrors. They’re like an army of terrible-two-toddlers running rampant all over Arendelle, born to cause as much chaos as possible. But gosh darn they are so freakin’ adorable.
Favorite part about being in the fandom?
Honestly? This! All the things!!
For the longest time, I hadn’t really been a part of anything. Yes, I’ve been writing my LWT fanfic since 2014, but it was just me posting chapters on FFnet and disappearing off the frozen-grid to my other mindless hobbies. If I wanted to see HansAnna fan art? I google searched and scrolled until the iPad died. If I wanted to read fanfics, I was limited to whatever FFnet, and to some extents, AO3 had to offer.
Joining tumblr, has been the best for me because now not only do I get to just see the fan art and read the little ficlets, I got to meet all of you guys. (Cheesy, I know.) I’ve made some great friends here, and we all support one another in our search for more quality HansAnna frozen content, whether its from other sources or us inspiring each other with art/writing prompt ideas to keep the content rolling in! And when there’s not going on, there’s always a good goofy meme, like this one, that we can all share with each other. Or start some intense chat about how much we hate the trolls, or how Hans did x for y and z…. etc.
NOTP?
Elsanna. Followed by Helsa.

Titles are Important (i don't know why i did this)
"Hey guess what?" Anna asked, nearly rolling off the bed entirely with her huge, empty wine glass. Elsa grabbed the back of her nightgown. "Careful. What?" she asked, taking her eyes from her very interesting and incredibly long book. "I'm DRUNK," Anna declared, rolling over to face her and dropping the glass on the floor. Luckily it hit the super thick rug and just rolled far, far under the bed. Elsa closed her book and looked at her sister's red face and sloppy grin. "Really? I thought you were Anna,'" she asked with a very serious expression befitting of a hardworking ruler. Anna blinked, and then laughed, shoving weakly at Elsa's arm. "What! Yes! I'm Drunk Anna then, okay? And you're Elsa!" Then, Elsa narrowed her eyes. "Excuse me?" Slowly, carefully, she put her book on the bedside table next to one of her many large glowing orbs of icy light. She straightened up and stared at Anna expectantly. "I'm...what?" Anna's grin gave way to a look of complete confusion. She was baffled. The poor girl was puzzled. There was no hiding how flummoxed she was, just absolutely bewildered. There weren't enough words to describe how thrown off she was, completely lost. "You're 'Drunk Anna' you say, and you just call me Elsa?" Elsa replied in a very sharp tone. Anna sighed. "Oh, fine, fine, Sober Elsa." "Wrong again," Elsa said, dragging Anna closer by her nightgown. "Eh!?" Anna yelped, flailing but not fighting it at all. "That's Queen Elsa to you," Elsa declared and proceeded to punish Drunk Anna's butt all night. Olaf found the wine glass the next day and decided not to ask any questions. Instead he added it to his 'collection' and there was peace in Arendelle.

Charades and a Drink Chapter 3 (A Post-Frozen 2 Ficlet)
Update update! I love writing fluff/angst, shit is addicting as hell. Planning on working on this simultaneously with my other fic, whichever I feel like writing at the time. Here’s the link to chapter 2, and here’s the link for ffn. Enjoy!
The great hall was packed with guests from different kingdoms from all parts around the world. Which was to be expected for the infamous summer solstice ball held in Arendelle. Conversations flew in all directions, and the festive jubilation was practically infectious.
Waiting for the start of the commencement ceremony behind the curtains, Anna was bouncing nervously on the back of her heels.
Elsa hadn't arrived yet, and it was much past the time that they had agreed to meet. Which was strange, because Elsa was almost always punctual. She was starting to worry that the older girl had decided to ditch her last minute.
Elsa would never do that.
How do you know?
She would never leave me.
But she did before, didn't she?
Yeah...but…
Sadly, she didn't have an argument for that.
Just as her doubts were beginning to get the better of her however, the sound of approaching footsteps resounded behind her.
"Sorry I'm late Anna, I was having trouble tying up my-"
Elsa walked in, and the sight of each other made them both stop in hushed silence.
Anna felt her throat dry and heat immediately rush up into her cheeks.
She couldn't put into words just how gorgeous Elsa looked in that moment. By now she thought she would've been used to the girl's ethereal level of beauty, but once again she was proven wrong. The blonde's dress was similar to her usual ice gown, but also with noticeable differences. It was a brighter shade of blue for one, bordering along the line of celeste. The hem fell short right below her knees, revealing the full display of her sister's slender calves. The top was no less revealing. The pleasing sight of Elsa's smooth shoulders added to the strange warmth she was starting to feel all throughout her body.
And her hair…
It was in the usual braid that Anna favored, but somehow it looked more...wild. It was less tightly woven, loose, emphasizing the slick of her bangs. A few bright snowflakes were also adorned along the braid, which complimented the blue color of her eyes flawlessly.
Needless to say, Anna liked it.
A lot.
Neither one said anything for a moment, but it was Anna who broke the silence first.
"Wow Elsa...You look…"
Amazing.
Stunning.
Drop dead gorgeous.
"You look beautiful..." She finally managed.
Elsa smiled shyly in response. "Thank you, so do you."
Anna let out an awkward laugh. "Nowhere near as beautiful as you probably."
At that Elsa frowned, and in a few steps took Anna's hand in her own, causing the redhead to look up curiously.
"Don't say that. You look beautiful, okay? Don't ever tell yourself otherwise." Elsa's tone was somehow both powerful and gentle, and it made Anna's heart skip a beat entirely.
"Okay..." Was all she could manage as she found herself lost in the blonde's affectionate gaze.
In that moment, Anna wished time would stop just to let her continue to stare and savor every detail of Elsa's reassuring smile. Maybe time did stop, because it felt like many minutes had passed as they stood there hand in hand, staring lovingly into each other's eyes, until they were finally interrupted.
"Your Majesty." The curtains of the hall were pulled back, and Kai appeared behind them.
Anna and Elsa jumped away quickly from each other as if they were caught doing something indecent.
Kai blinked in confusion. "My apologies, did I interrupt something?"
Anna composed herself with a clear of her throat. "N-not at all Kai."
The servant nodded respectfully. "The preparations are ready for the commencement. We'll be starting the introductions shortly."
Anna nodded and looked to Elsa in anticipation. "You ready?"
Elsa smiled softly. "Of course."
--------------------------
"Introducing Her Majesty, Queen Anna of Arendelle!"
Elsa watched Anna lift the curtains and make her way to the center of the dais as she was announced. All the guests clapped and a number of cheers rang out from the crowd, heralding the arrival of the kingdom's beautiful monarch.
And God was she beautiful. Fittingly, Anna looked like the essence of summer in light green and white, and her skirts moved around her lightly, almost as though they were made of air. She had pulled her auburn hair away from her face, tying it back into a loose style that framed her face, bringing out the teal of her eyes, and her collar bone was exposed, suggesting the enticing pattern of freckles that made it way down to her―
Elsa swallowed hard, and averted her eyes. It was no good, staring at her like this. She had to think of something else. Ever since she first saw Anna minutes ago, her body was reacting in ways that she couldn't control.
Why am I like this?
"Introducing Her Majesty, Queen Elsa of Arendelle!"
Elsa perked up in surprise, not entirely prepared for her introduction.
She really was distracted.
The guests clapped at her entrance. Elsa could see quite a few of them looking at her before whispering amongst themselves. Her confidence wavered. Was the dress too much? If she had to be honest, it was a bit more revealing than what she was comfortable with.
Her eyes shifted to the woman next to her.
Anna was smiling, glancing again at her outfit appreciatively. Almost immediately, Elsa's worries melted away, reminded that the one person that she wore the dress for did in fact like it. That was all that mattered.
The song of trumpets ended and the people clapped again in respect to their hosts.
The rest of the musicians began to tune their instruments, and Anna stepped forward. The ball was about to begin, and it seemed the clamour of the hall was quieting down ever so slightly.
"Thank you everyone for coming today to celebrate the wonderful occasion of the summer solstice in Arendelle. My sister and I are honored to once again commemorate the start of our kingdom's long held tradition with our friends and allies of the northern region. We hope that all the preparations are to your liking." Anna paused briefly before continuing. "As you all may know, it is customary for the summer solstice ball to begin with a commemorative first dance, and I would like to take this time to select a participant."
Elsa stood pensively. It seemed like her every sense was focused on Anna, on the way her skirt fluttered about her, on the way her hands clutched at them with a slightly greater force than necessary, and the way she was watching her every step. The girl had come such a long way she realized. Her speaking had become a lot more composed, and though she was still rough on the edges, it was clear that she had worked hard to improve her level of royal semblance. Elsa couldn't feel anymore proud.
Anna came down from the dais and the guests all stood in attention, eager to see who she would select for her first partner.
As she came to stand in the middle of the cleared out hall, her eyes swept over the assembly, and many raised their glasses in a toast. She appeared thoughtful, but if Elsa had to guess it was mostly a formality. It was already quite clear to her on who it was that would be selected.
Near the front of the left side of the room, Kristoff stood in attention. He looked well groomed for the occasion, and seemed to be doing his best to hide his uncomfortableness for his attire. He shot Anna a smile.
But surprisingly, Anna's eyes didn't stop at him, and she turned back towards the dais until her eyes came to rest upon Elsa.
"Elsa," her clear voice said.
Even though the entire room seemed to turn to her, for a moment it seemed that time itself slowed to a crawl, that the world dimmed until there was only Anna in it, and Elsa felt like she stood at the edge of the light, eager to join her.
"Will you celebrate the summer solstice with me?" She asked.
It was then that Elsa realized she'd been holding her breath. The words didn't sink in immediately, but when they did, her mind began to race. She was reminded of their conversation yesterday, about her not wanting to dance in public because she was shy, and Anna proposing that one day she would. Nervously, she nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. Countless eyes were upon her, watching her every move.
Anna had chosen her.
On the surface it may have appeared nothing out of the usual. Many knew how close the two sisters were and just how deep their bond went, but to Elsa, with all the events that had happened in the past two weeks between them, the implication was something far more striking.
Anna had chosen her over Kristoff.
The walk down from the dais seemed to last an eternity, but it probably only lasted a few seconds. By the time she joined Anna on the open floor, she noticed that her sister appeared just as nervous, the tension almost invisible, perceptible only in the line of her shoulders, the angle of her chin.
Just start with the basics.
Elsa curtsied, and as the silks of her skirt whispered around her, she heard a barely audible 'thank you' come from Anna.
Had Anna really thought she would refuse?
Her chest felt like it was glowing. Elsa stretched out her hand, and Anna took it, and she gave it the barest of squeezes, a shared gesture of comfort between them.
The small orchestra was done tuning, and the conductor's baton clicked at the pages of his music sheets. One, two, three.
"You lead," Anna said encouragingly.
"Okay," Elsa replied, all the same, under her breath.
The gentle notes of flutes began, and behind them the violins and violas began a slow crescendo, but Elsa was already too busy to think on them. Her arm reached around Anna's waist, the world small and shrunken around them, and she cradled her sister's hand gently.
Anna looked up at her calmly, her teal eyes catching the candlelight, and Elsa felt her throat close up. The moment would come in a second, she knew, where the musical introduction would give way to sweeping strings and upbeat winds, and then she would have to move. She knew that much at least.
As the music wrapped itself around her, Elsa made the first step, and Anna followed instantly, reacting with an instinct born of years and years of training with her instructor. Elsa was well-versed in the matter, but Anna was polished. It was almost effortless, the way she danced, stepping backwards lightly and sprightly, as though she could read Elsa's mind even before her own body.
When Elsa extended her arm, Anna twirled, all control and elegance, and their skirts brushed together before Anna returned safely to the crook of Elsa's arm to continue. They moved together as though they had always danced together, as though this were their hundredth dance and not their first.
They turned and turned, one, two, three, and Elsa's senses were overwhelmed, the sight and smell and feel of Anna in her arms mingling with the music and the warm atmosphere. It was nearly too much for her to bear.
Anna's cheeks were flushed pink, her eyes were bright, her auburn hair shone in the evening candlelight and she was growing warmer, closer.
Was it her heart racing, or Anna's? With their hands and breasts together, she could hardly tell anymore. Did it matter?
Their faces were becoming closer and closer without them realizing. Noses almost touching. Eyes peering into each other's wistfully.
And then the music lifted.
Anna's eyes widened and she pulled away. Elsa did the same, slowing to a stop and quickly remembering that every single person in the room had their attention on them. The music ended on a sweeping, happy note, and the hall roared in applause and cheers. Her heart was pounding, her breath was short, and she felt energized, hot, as though she'd run a hundred miles.
What is wrong with me?
"May I have the next dance, Your Majesty?"
Anna turned to one of the visiting dignitaries and though she hid it well, Elsa noted she seemed startled. "Oh," she said, "of course." She then turned to her and gave her a smile. "I'll see you later?"
Elsa nodded, mind still racing. After that, Anna was taken away to the center of the floor to dance again, and Elsa was once again alone.
"Elsa," Kristoff's voice said, next to her, and she turned to the man, trying not to feel so distracted.
"Kristoff," She smiled, wanly. "I suppose that went well." She was trying not to sound affected, but wasn't sure it worked. Around them, the music was beginning again and many guests were now on the floor taking their places.
"It did," He said as they made their way off the floor. He was smiling, but there was something in his eyes that Elsa couldn't decipher. "You guys were amazing."
"I don't know about me, but I'm sure Anna was." Elsa said, laughing in stunned relief. "I had no idea she was going to pick me."
He smiled again, earnestly this time. "I'm not too surprised. You're her sister after all. Everyone knows how close you two are."
Elsa nodded, reflecting that perhaps that really was the case. She was overthinking it. Anna had merely chosen her because they were close and because they were family. There was nothing more to it. They were just sisters.
Recovering from her contemplation, she was able to make out the said girl's face amongst the mass of dancers. Out of sheer luck their eyes met. Anna smiled brightly, and Elsa returned it with a smile of her own. Though truthfully, it was accompanied with a hint of sadness.
"Just sisters."
--------------------------
"There you are. I thought you might be out here." Anna came up from behind her.
Elsa was sitting alone in the gardens, away from all the commotion of the party. It was late. She had gotten her fair share of conversations with many of the guests already, and many more dance requests that she had politely turned down.
"Sorry, I just wanted some fresh air."
"No worries." Anna assured her. "It was starting to get a bit stuffy in there anyway."
Elsa chuckled at that. Anna seated herself next to her on the bench. The stars were out that night, bright and quiet. It was quite the spectacle, and both sisters watched on in silent appreciation.
"You were great out there today. Your opening speech was wonderful." She said to break the silence.
"Well, I learned from the best."
Elsa smiled in agreement. "Papa was quite the public speaker, that's for sure."
"I was referring to you, silly."
"Oh."
Anna laughed at Elsa's surprised expression and then proceeded to lean her head onto the blonde's shoulder. Elsa stiffened, but relaxed moments after. It became quiet again. Comfortable, yes, but in Elsa's mind, there was still a certain question that she hadn't quite found the answer to yet.
"Hey Anna."
"Hm?"
She paused, unsure if she really wanted to ask what was on her mind. Staring at their intertwined hands she decided that she should.
"Why did you pick me for the dance?"
This time it was Anna's turn to become silent. All the sounds of the night suddenly seemed to grow in prominence. The chirping of nearby crickets, the echoes of the ballroom, even the small seasonal winds could be heard, all in anticipation to a seemingly fateful answer.
Elsa waited, patiently, until Anna spoke.
"The first dance is supposed to be with the person that you love most right? That's what Mama always told me. I feel like it'd be obvious on who that would be."
The person she loved most?
"T-then why didn't you just ask me beforehand?"
"Ha!" Anna smirked, "If I asked you before, you would've just came up with all sorts of excuses."
Well...she couldn't really disagree with that.
"I guess. I was just...surprised is all." She admitted.
And then quietly, barely above a whisper. So quiet that Elsa almost didn't make it out. Anna said something that made her go still.
"Me too..."
What?
Had she heard that right?
It almost sounded as if...
"Anna-"
"Well!" The girl shot up from the bench. "I better get back to the party before Kai comes to find me. Did you want to come back with me?" Anna asked.
Elsa blinked, caught off guard from being interrupted so abruptly, but she quickly recovered and forced a thin smile. "I think I'll call it a night."
Anna nodded. "I'll see you tomorrow, then?"
Elsa hesitated for a moment, but replied with a nod. Satisfied, Anna smiled softly before turning and making her way back into the castle.
"Anna."
The redhead stopped in her tracks, turning to her with questioning eyes.
"Thank you...for asking me." She said softly. "I…"
She paused, unsure of herself. But steering her resolve, Elsa smiled sincerely.
"I had a lot of fun."
Anna blinked in surprise, and returned her smile with a brighter one.
"Me too."

Charades and a Drink Chapter 2 (A Post-Frozen 2 Ficlet)
If you missed chapter 1, here’s the link. Chapter 3 will be out soon. Idk where I’m really going with this, but I’m having fun, so yeah. Enjoy! Here’s the link for ffn.
Anna awoke with a start. It was early, morning light had just begun to filter in through the window curtains, and the soreness left in her eyes told her a similar story.
It had been a recurring theme in the past week; waking early, stirred awake by the same unsettling dream.
Though calling it unsettling would be unfair.
A beautiful pale face.
The silkiness of platinum blonde hair.
And those lips.
So luscious and pretty, practically enticing her for a taste.
A blush forced its way to her cheeks, and Anna shook away the indecent thoughts.
She needed a bath to clear her mind. Elsa would be returning from the enchanted forest later that evening, and it was in her best interest to compose herself before then.
In their most recent exchange of letters, Anna had requested for Elsa to return a day early to assist her in the final preparations for the upcoming annual ball, which was to be tomorrow; the day of the summer solstice. Truthfully, all of the preparations had been completed already, but she wanted Elsa’s approval, as it had been the other girl’s responsibility for the past six years. It felt wrong to not hear her take on it.
If she had to be honest, she would’ve liked Elsa’s take on everything. Her opinion ranked higher above any of her advisors, and it wasn’t even close.
But if she had to rely on Elsa for everything, she might as well have asked for her to return and assume the throne again. The girl was a natural when it came to these things.
It surprised her just how much she wished that would happen.
I belong out there.
Elsa’s words from that fateful night still rung out clearly in her mind.
She didn’t quite know why she had chosen to lie to Elsa about her memory that following morning. Maybe she was scared. Scare that Elsa would be mad at her. Push her away for being so detestful and sick to have the need to kiss her own sister when she herself was engaged.
But Elsa had kissed back.
And that had thrown her off.
So she had lied, regretfully. Because she had wanted time. Time to think. Time to understand.
Understand her situation.
And understand her own feelings.
Sadly, after a week of contemplating, all she had found was more confusion.
Did she love her sister?
Well, of course she did. But she had always loved Elsa. Why was it now that she had the desperate need to have...more?
Why did she find herself suddenly wanting to spend less time with Kristoff, her new fiance, and more time spent with her sister, someone who she had spent the past three years side by side with?
Elsa's smile flashed in her mind again.
God, I miss her.
Anna sighed, and rose from her bed, heading to the washroom for her bath.
In any case, she would find more answers when Elsa returned.
And hopefully they were ones that she wanted.
-----------------------------------
“The decorations look great.”
“You think so?” Anna smiled brightly, abashed.
“I really do. Everything looks like it's ready to go. Did you really need my help at all?” Elsa laughed.
Anna shrugged. “I just wanted to make sure that you were okay with it…”
Elsa had arrived around dinner time, which had gone off without a hitch. It seemed that all the tension from their so-called kiss was all but gone now, or at least on Elsa’s side, which Anna was appreciative of. They had an eventful meal together, sharing laughs and retelling their respective stories for the week, and were now going over the preparations for the ball tomorrow like they had agreed on.
Throughout all of it, Anna’s mind occasionally wandered to certain thoughts.
It was so natural; their exchanges. It made Anna realize just how pleasant it was being around Elsa. She always felt that way, but Anna was starting to truly see how important that time was to her.
Just how much she needed it.
Perhaps that realization was a starting point, to understanding how exactly she felt about Elsa.
“Anna?”
Anna snapped up in attention. “Ah, sorry, did you say something?”
“I was asking how things are between you and Kristoff? You haven’t really mentioned him tonight.”
“Oh.” Anna was surprised by the question. Truthfully, she hadn’t really thought about him too much lately. Not when her mind was occupied by...something else. “Things are great! He’s been helping me out with a lot of things.”
That was a lie. But Elsa would worry if she said that she was taking full responsibility for all of her work. She hadn’t really bothered requesting for his assistance, mostly because she didn’t want to rely on anyone.
Unless that person was Elsa.
“Well that’s good. Are you excited to dance with him? He is your choice for the honorary first dance, afterall.”
Shoot.
She had forgotten all about that.
Every year at the start of the summer solstice ball, it was tradition for the Queen to participate in an honorary first dance with a person of her choice to commemorate the day of the solstice. Usually, that person was the king, prince consort, or someone who was courting the queen. In the previous years, they had simply skipped out on the tradition, because Elsa was known to not participate in dancing, and she had no one courting her at the time.
But Anna was different. She was notorious for being a good dancer, and she had a fiancee now, so it made sense for her to participate in the tradition.
But the participant was still her choice right? No one said it had to be someone she was courting. No one said it had to be Kristoff.
Anna’s train of thinking quickly caught up to her.
Wait why am I so adamant on not picking Kristoff in the first place?
Anna realized she hadn’t responded to Elsa’s question yet.
“Of course I’m excited! You know how much I love dancing.” Anna suddenly turned her gaze to Elsa with a sly smile. “And I know how much you secretly love dancing too.”
Elsa looked away in embarrassment.
“You better not tell anyone.”
“Why? You’re really good at it. Is it cause you’re shy?” Anna’s cheekiness was palpable.
“Yes.”
“Fair enough, but one of these days you’re gonna dance in public, and you’re going to love it.”
Elsa smiled. “If you say so.”
They had spent the remaining of the night talking in her office. Over small things for the most part, but it had been relaxing nonetheless. The hours flew by and soon it was late.
“I think I’ll be going to bed now.” Elsa stood by the door looking back at her. “Try not to stay up too late. It’s a busy day tomorrow.”
Anna stood from her seat, and in a few strides made her way in front of Elsa. Without hesitation she gave her a big hug and wrapped her arms around the other girl’s waist.
Elsa tensed up, not expecting the display of affection.
“Thank you.” Anna whispered.
“For what?”
Anna tightened her hold around her. “For being here.”
Elsa chuckled softly. “Is that really something that needs thanks?”
Anna paused before answering, the girl’s voice practically right next to her ear.
“Yes.”
The earnesty in her response made Elsa still.
It was too similar.
The way Anna was when she had kissed her a week ago.
And the way she was now.
The yearning in her voice...had she heard it right?
But Anna said she didn’t remember.
Only she herself did.
So Elsa said the only thing that she could say at that moment.
“You’re welcome.”
Anna broke away and smiled softly.
“Goodnight, Elsa.”
Elsa forced a thin smile back. “Goodnight...”
Elsa stepped out of the enclosure and closed the door behind her.
She stood there. Silently.
Minutes passed and eventually, she moved from her spot and made her way towards her chambers.
The feeling of Anna’s lithe body against her own. It had merely been moments ago.
But she missed it already.

Safe and Sound
Hello hello! This here little ficlet was written for wonderful @junglekiing who had been looking for writing of their Tiger!Elsa AU that would also be FLUFF.  Here we have Anna and Elsa in a moment to themselves, and Elsa makes it clear how happy she is. ------- Every single day Anna learned something about the friend she had taken home with her from the woods. Hybrids were uncommon in Arendelle, even if a handful were known to live and work in the kingdoms. Those individuals were part of the community and as much as they intrigued Anna, she could never get herself to approach them and ask them a deluge of questions. She had so many! But, well, she also was always teaching herself to squish her excitement aside to avoid being rude, and so she tried to stick to the books so could find about them. The books never prepared her for Elsa.
Since returning to the castle with her and inviting her to stay, Anna's curiosity was constantly through the royal roof. Everything the part human, part tiger woman did was fascinating, even when it shouldn't be. Elsa licking a cut on her hand instead of cleaning it like a normal person? What! That was so strange but she liked it. Elsa helping her wash dishes even with those bizarre part human and part cat hands? She had to take it in!
On a particular day, Elsa had lounged on the library couch in the sun with Anna and closed her eyes.
That in itself wasn't unusual. Elsa was still adjusting from a nocturnal life to time her own schedule with Anna's. She'd been stuck to her side since that day they returned from the woods, and Anna had no complaints there. She was reading one of her favorite stories during some afternoon downtime and Elsa loved to just exist with her. She couldn't read herself, not yet.
Elsa's head was leaned against the back of the couch, the rough pads of her feet - her paws - whatever - against Anna's thigh where there was a split in her green dress. Her tail dangled over the front of the couch and the end of it twitched every now and then. A pillow was held in her arms, both hands digging in as though she were kneading. Elsa was clad in an elegant, sparkly blue dress she'd made herself with her own powers.
Because of course she had powers, weird icy ones. Anna had no idea if that was normal, but it sure was their little secret and drew her to Elsa even more.
Anna sighed with contentment and set her hand on the top of Elsa's foot. "Sleepy thing," she said quietly, smiling.
Then she startled as her words were quickly followed by a soft response. "I'm not asleep. I'm quite awake, thank you."
"O-oh! Sorry! I'm used to you drifting off...this must mean you're making it through the day better, then!" That would be great! Anna had been able to coax Elsa into snuggling with her, something the blonde had been terrified of at first because she didn't want to hurt Anna. When no harm had come, Elsa was eager to curl up with her. Anna wasn't sure what they were, yet, but she knew she wanted to sleep through a whole night being held by her. "You're not tired at all?"
"No," Elsa answered gently. "Just...safe."
Anna blinked and lowered the book she had been reading. She turned to look at Elsa, her eyes still closed. "Safe?"
"Safe," Elsa repeated, then opening one eye to look back at Anna. "We big cats only close our eyes and truly relax when we feel very, very safe."
"But you sleep in the day all the time!" Anna blurted, before covering her mouth with her hand. "I mean, I'm not judging or something-"
Elsa laughed. The sound felt just plain GOOD. It tickled her heart with warmth. "I know. I know. That's where you have to remember I'm not all cat, and I know I need to rest and sleep no matter what. But rarely have I ever allowed myself to relax, like this."
"Oh." Anna lowered her hand from her mouth, feeling a bit silly.
"It feels wonderful," Elsa murmured, and that one eye closed again. "It feels...like the weight of the world has slipped away, and I can simply be."
"I love when I feel like that." Anna didn't feel like that too frequently as she was Queen, but she handled the stress well enough to be able to relax.
For a moment, silence hung in the air. "I have not felt like this is many, many years. I was on my own for a long time when you found me, Anna."
Anna had learned snippets of Elsa's past here and there. She knew she had left her family for some reason, and sometimes caught that she was outcasted. At the same time, she had also picked up hints that-that Elsa herself held some sort of powerful position in her family. In her herd...no, that didn't seem right in her head, did tigers even have herds? What would a group of tigers be called anyway? A stripey surprise?
Her thoughts were distracted when Elsa spoke again. "I never....never thought it could be like this again, either."
"Elsa!" Anna's heart felt like it exploded, or imploded, or whatever. "Why? Did you really think you'd always be alone in the northern forest?" Anna had completely closed her book, Elsa's soft, fuzzy foot gripped in one hand.
"Well...yes."
At that answer, Anna swallowed and made an immediate and very firm decision. "You'll never be alone again! Elsa, I swear, as long as I am alive and Queen, and those two are the same because I think I only stop being Queen when I'm dead, UNLESS- nevermind, I don't know where I'm going - I swear you will always be a part of this castle. Of this family. This...family of you and me and that snowman you made a couple of weeks ago who keeps popping into the kitchen unannounced, which reminds me, the staff who know about you are family-"
Something swatted Anna's ankles. "Anna, Anna hush, I get it." Elsa lightly got her with her tail one more time. "I'm honored you would trust me so much and accept me and I...well...I..." Elsa opened both eyes again, the striking blues rendering Anna speechless. "...Thank you, for everything, for your patience and kindness. I love...I love...being here," Elsa said and as the last two words came out, she seemed to lose a little steam.
Behind a locked door in her mind there was more struggling to come out and even someone as bubbleheaded as Anna could see that. As much as she wanted to draw it all out at once, Anna knew she couldn't force anything. And she wouldn't.
"I love having you here, Elsa. Always felt a little empty before, and now...um...well, it doesn't."
"Hmm. 'It' meaning the castle?" Elsa asked her, releasing her pillow with one hand and reaching toward Anna. The fingers on her other hand dug into the pillow in a hastened rhythm, almost excited.
"Meaning...a lot of things..." The castle, her heart, her life, and time as a whole. Elsa felt like the piece Anna often felt was missing, though the tail was a surprise. The ice was...also a surprise. Anna took Elsa's hand, her cooling fur always kind of blowing her mind.
Elsa pulled slowly, drawing Anna down with her on the roomy couch. The sunlight danced on the cold glitter of her blue dress, making her strange friend even more beautiful than she usually was. That was an amazing task; Elsa was absolutely stunning.
Both women shifted as Anna laid her head on the pillow Elsa held, resting just below her chin. Elsa adjusted briefly to kiss the top of Anna's forehead and Anna felt tingles all over her body. She wanted more, she almost ached for more, wanting to kiss Elsa in honest. She had kissed her on the lips a couple of times and it was chaste, but set off sparks. However Anna was patient.
Elsa's arms wrapped around her and casually started undoing her elegant, regal bun. Anna didn't stop her. She never really like wearing it; it was a little tight. Some viewed her double braids as childish, though.
Elsa thought they were cute and would bat at them.
"I've never felt safer than I do right now," Elsa whispered, and Anna smiled.
"Good. You're safe. And...you'll always be safe. I-I know how to use a sword." Anna immediately felt silly. Why did she say that!?
"And I can use ice. May we never actually have to use our skills in such a way, but I'll always make sure you're safe as well."
Somehow Anna hadn't know how much she needed to hear that. She had no idea until it went right to her heart. She had never really been concerned about being protected and kept safe, but hearing such words from the person she clearly adored, well...
She didn't know what to say. Elsa had that effect. No one else was quite so successful at leaving Anna speechless, but Elsa could do it without any effort. Anna didn't even want to respond and not in a bad way. She felt good. She felt like that need to push words, to comment, to ramble, it was soothed. Not every thought needed to be voiced, and not every moment even needed a thought.
"I'll always keep you safe," Elsa told her again, her fingers stroking her hair, the very tips of her claws like heaven against her scalp.
Anna closed her eyes. Just like Elsa, she felt safer than she ever had before.

You’ll Love Me At Once
I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream I know you, that look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam Once Upon a Dream from Sleeping Beauty "Oooh I've got to sleep, I've got to sleeep. But...there's one more chapter. Just one more and I'll be done." Anna mumbled the words to herself, pushing herself to keep going. She sat on Elsa's bed, on top of the covers as her sister lay sleeping beside her. She'd been out for over an hour, every now and then letting out an extremely soft snore that made Anna smile softly. Anna had made a habit of climbing into her bed every evening. It used to be she left when Elsa fell asleep, but after she herself knocked out in the big cozy bed, she decided there was no point in leaving every night. The bed was big and Elsa had space and Anna was able to not accidentally kick her.
Often she and Elsa each read a book together, finishing and trading so they could talk about the stories. Anna loved that; she loved any little action that connected her with her once mysterious sister. Even if Elsa fell asleep with the book on her stomach, Anna was pleased to continue with her own in some low candle light, wrapped in a blue and purple blanket while wearing her green nightgown.
She was turning the page when she felt a sudden chill and saw something from the corner of her eye. It was something white and sparkly and...
Icy.
Anna turned her head to look past Elsa, toward the other side of the room where a figure was forming. It was certainly Elsa's powers at work, but what were they doing? Anna tilted her head and watched intensely.
"Woah," she breathed out when the final, iced and glimmering figure was revealed. It was....Elsa. It was Elsa in her coronation dress with her hair worn in that braid she'd become so fond of. She looked incredible, beautiful, and Anna swallowed.
There was no way she could miss the figure of her sister, the curves of the cold ice forming her hips and the shining of her breasts as she walked away from the wall. Anna's cheeks colored as she thought about it, and how badly she wanted to touch even if the cold might hurt her palms.
A quick glance reassured her that her sister was still asleep, eyes shut and breathing steady. Anna didn't know what she was nervous about. If Elsa woke up to see her admiring icy curves she would probably be more amused than anything. She knew how much Anna loved everything she made of ice, and a version of herself was no different...right?
The ice-Elsa's glowed a soft blue, but not at all in an eerie sense. It was calming. There was a confident gleam in those eyes and Anna enjoyed it as the figure circled the bed and...and held out her hand.
Anna's eyes went wide in confusion and she finally put down her book, pointing at herself. "Me?" she squeaked out, surprised that she was being...invited? She wasn't sure.
"Dance with me."
Anna startled and looked back at her sister, who had sleepily muttered the words though her eyes were shut. She was talking in her sleep! And...manifesting! "But it's me-it's Anna." Surely in her dream Elsa was dancing with a charming suitor from a far-off land.
"Anna, dance with me, please?"
Slowly Anna dragged her gaze back to the form offering a hand. Then...she took it, and slid from her blanket, leaving the bed. "Oh!" she yelped when one hand landed on her hip and chilled her through the thin gown. She shivered, both from the cold and how much she liked the touch.
Then she had to bite back another sound when a frozen hand palmed her cheek and her gaze met the blue glow. Her face was so very cold...but she didn't mind too much. Because where it connected with her skin she felt warmth as well, different than any she knew.
"Anna.." Elsa's voice behind her, but Anna didn't turn. She let ice-Elsa slide an arm around her waist and take her other hand. She stepped back, leading Anna away from the bed and to a more open space where she whirled her around in a great circle. She drew Anna closer to take her in proper, graceful steps as Anna tried not to trip over her own feet.
And it was - it was difficult. "Okay, I got this...there! ...Oh, oh Elsa I'm sorry I stepped on your-that didn't even phase you, its ice...oh I think I got it..!" Eventually, she did. It may have only been a minute as they danced to music only the sleeping Elsa could hear, but it felt like it took forever for her to grasp it.
Anna was thankful that the ice-Elsa didn't notice her missteps, had no reaction to the way Anna clung to her with a slippery death grip and kept bumping her shoes. All in all, it was a very awkward dance - but the way ice-Elsa smiled and kept going as the real Elsa sighed happily made it all worth it.
How long they actually danced Anna wasn't sure. She gradually got better. Her footing became more sure and she managed to support herself with Elsa's arms even if they were slippery too. She wished there was real music playing but she did well enough with the tune she hummed in her head. They twirled around the room, Elsa giggling in her sleep while Anna held back snorts of amusement.
Then they stopped with ice-Elsa's face close to Anna's, closer than it had ever been. "Come to my room," Elsa said softly and Anna's eyes went wide as dinner plates.
"W-what? What...how do you..." The way she asked did not feel normal. It was almost - it implied something. It was suggestive as the ice hands ran down her sides, pausing on her hips. Elsa pulled Anna's body in closer and as Anna breathed she could see fog forming on Elsa's cheeks.
"My room...my room...mmm.." Elsa continued and Anna heard rustling. She turned her head quickly and saw Elsa rolling on her side with a sigh, evidently still asleep and dreaming, if that's what that was. It had to be.
The cold began to fade from Anna's overheated body and when she looked, ice-Elsa had developed scattered areas that erupted in bright glows. Then her body began to slowly fade into glittering snowflakes, her back going first and eventually from her hair down to her shoes. It was beautiful but Anna felt...
She felt sad. It was like seeing her dear sister fade away, watching her disappear, and she didn't like that. It made her heart hurt.
Anna bit her lip and stepped back, before whirling around and climbing back onto the bed as fast as she could. With the feeling of the dance still holding to her along with the sight of Elsa becoming nothing but flurries, she had to get close to her sister.
After blowing out her candle she slipped under the covers as efficiently as she could, not wishing to wake Elsa. It appeared she hadn't as Elsa didn't move at all, her breathing not changing. She seemed comfortable, content. Maybe she didn't even know she'd had a dream. Anna didn't know if she wanted her to remember or not.
What she did know was how she wanted to hold Elsa's real, warm body against her own. Whatever had just happened was magical and amazing, and she never wanted to let it go.

Your Rainbow Will Come Smiling Through
A dream is a wish your heart makes When you're fast asleep In dreams, you will lose your heartaches Whatever you wish for, you keep A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes from Cinderella Elsa saw a rainbow and she took a nap. A short period of rain ended and as Elsa had stared out over the water, she watched the rainbow form, colors shining in the sky as if created by a magic stronger than her own. Rainbows made her heart feel light. There was a beauty in them, a playfulness she only saw in one other place. That would be in Anna's shining eyes.
Anna was in Arendelle, but the rainbow was right there, and so Elsa decided to spend as much time as she could in its presence. She lightly frosted the ground on which she stood before lowering herself down to sit and think. Her eyes felt a little bit heavy from rarely allowing herself enough rest. She exhausted herself with work in the castle when she lived there and she exhausted herself in her exploration of all the different aspects of the forest, the Northuldra, and heavy memories Ahtohallan had to offer.
So, Elsa let herself lay down upon the crisp ground, her eyes coming to a close as she drifted off.
Her dreams were what they always were as of late. She followed the rainbow, she rode Nokk across the water, let Gale carry her through the sky until she could be gently placed at the end of the beautiful colors. No one else knew what was truly at the end of a rainbow, but she knew.
Anna was there, bathed in the glow and arms opened to her sister. She stood on the ground, or maybe frozen water. She was the true treasure at the end of the rainbow, waiting for Elsa to come to her, to return. Each and every time she welcomed her warmly.
As soon as Elsa embraced her, Anna would squeeze her tight in her arms. She would whisper to her and stroke her hair. Elsa would kiss her cheek, nuzzle her nose with her own and eventually her lips would find their way to Anna's. Miraculously, Anna wouldn't push her away. Each and every time Elsa had the dream, Anna would kiss her back.
Not only that, but Anna would break to meet her gaze, the green and blue of the rainbow dancing in her younger sister's eyes. Then Anna would kiss her again, and again, her lips moving to her jaw, then to Elsa's neck, and then-
And then that was when Elsa would wake up. She would always wake up there, Anna no longer in her arms. She would try to force herself back to sleep with the lingering thoughts of bliss, craving the happiness her dream had offered her.
Yet, it was really only a dream. That nap was like any other sleep she had, but in addition she looked to the sky to see only that the rainbow had faded. It was the way of things and she knew not ton expect otherwise, but each time a rainbow left the sky her heart cracked just a little bit. She couldn't travel to the end of it and find Anna there waiting for her, having fallen in love just as hard as Elsa herself had.
Maybe, just maybe someday the rainbow would end toward Arendelle, and Elsa would know then her destiny was certainly to follow it.
In Arendelle, Anna was making plans.
For not the first time, she had been working at her desk when cold air suddenly hurried past her and made her shiver, not entirely from the chill. Something about it felt so...felt so good. Her attention was pulled from her paperwork as she looked up in front of her where the air sparkled and swirled, forming ice.
And just like all the other times an ice statue appeared of her and her sister, holding each other. There was however, a minor difference from the last statue, and the statue before that. Each time, the ice version of Anna had her lips in a slightly different spot. They had traveled from Elsa's cheek, to her lips -it was hard to explain when it appeared in the library while she read to children - to her jaw to now the nape of her neck. Anna's hands started to travel lower too.
Anna was used to ice statues forming in front of her when Elsa thought of her, but lately...
She packed a second pair of boots for the forest. The sooner she got there, the sooner she could show Elsa all the parts of her body she desperately wanted to kiss.
