God, he's so so bitter about everything that was stolen from him... But his resentment here is misplaced. He's mad at those who are, as he sees it, less deserving of the chance to perform research. And yet, unlike him, they are the ones who have the opportunity to do so. Their theories may be nonsense, but they get to pursue them, when he couldn't.

And now, because I did one for Baet's family, I had to do a height chart for (half of; I didn't do Kei's half) Enoch's family as well! So have some Elohim angels!
Tumblr media
None of them really have any special notes about their heights like Baet's family does! Aside from Enoch, because he typically glamours himself to be taller than he actually is (5'9" vs his actual 5'2") because he's salty about being the tiniest in their family other than the actual children lmao.
Average height for angels is about the same as it is for humans! Of course, some angels have other forms they can take depending of what type of angel they are, but that's different.
Edit: I lied actually, the angels can change sex, and that does change the height of some of them. I'm just doing the height of whatever form they're most likely to take in this one...because otherwise it'd have to be split up into multiple parts.

Ishtar updated so some stuff is on there finally. Didn't want to spam with too many huge posts with just walls of text.
Absolutely losing it about Chivalric Fire seasonal sword. We finally have a canon reason for ornaments from each vendor. It's becuse they argue what the weapon should look like.
"It should be elegant," says Zavala, striking his breastplate with a fist.
Shaxx isn't having it:
Shaxx's firm gesture of denial drives the side of his hand into a shelf. An Omolon-branded canister falls off and rolls across the floor. "It must be an unstoppable force in sword form! It should spit fire! Also, it should be red."
And then Drifter:
"No, no," the Drifter says from the doorway. He kicks the rolling canister away without looking down. "I'm a law-abiding citizen. I pay my taxes. You can trust me. It needs to look mean. You want people thinking: 'They're madder, badder, and hungrier than me. I'm not tangling with them.'"
I'm losing it over him emphasising that he's a law-abiding citizen. It makes him least likely to be a law-abiding citizen. Then poor Banshee is like can you guys settle on a single design and they continue arguing. Absolutely incredible.
A lot of people already posted about the exotic sparrow Nostos. It's about Eramis reminiscing about her wife Athrys and their children and thinking where she might be now. And then she just basically more or less decides to go to them:
It was the same map that Eramis's mate, Athrys, had followed out of Sol. It even included the habitable zones she'd tabbed as potential landing sites. By now, Athrys might be Kell of her own settlement, living happily alongside their grown hatchlings. Or they might all be long-dead. In truth, Eramis hadn't wondered at either possibility for decades. But ever since she saw the Witness disappear into its portal, Eramis could think of little else. All her prior aspirations were made suddenly small. Eliksni solidarity, revenge against the Traveler, enmity with the Humans… they were all irrelevant. If a second Whirlwind was her fate, Eramis would suffer it as she had the first: with Athrys by her side.
Btw, "nostos" is a theme in Ancient Greek stories, about a hero heroically returning home.
Gloaming Journeyer has also been posted by pretty much everyone. It's about Drifter and Eris sharing an incredibly tender moment and finding peace with each other. Just read it.
Wyrmguard seasonal arm piece has a devastating update on Shaw Han's lore in which it is revealed that the Ahamkara exotic he wears is what he made a wish to. He wanted to have his own fireteam. At the end, he gets a call from "Caster-3" aka Cas, one of the members of his fireteam (alongside Maeve) that ended up dying to Navota. The backfire of a wish. Man.
And one more funny for the end, for Dragon's Breath. A return of Marcus Ren and Enoch Bast! They're doing fine and they're being dumbasses together with their friend, Ariadne Gris. Ariadne might be familiar to people who remember obscure lore from the vanilla sparrow lore Dinas Emrys in which Ariadne was called to the Vanguard to explain why she has a dragon symbol painted on her sparrow. She was being suspected of having an Ahamkara. Ikora found this whole thing ridiculous and Ariadne defended herself by saying a dragon painted on a sparrow was "cool."
And she's back at it again in Dragon's Breath, offended that it's called Dragon's Breath but not having a dragon painted on it. Enoch and Marcus then get a deal with her: she'll race her sparrow against the speed of the rocket. What happens next will shock you. Also, important:
Enoch says. At his side, Marcus studies the case.
Not beating the allegations that they're partners.

I really got to give kudos to Lars' portrayal of Thrawn. Yeah the color grading (which is crap for the entire show) makes him look like he's from the HTTE comic adaption, although Lesser Evil has a line about Chiss paling with age so it does also work. But he has a weariness about him that shows he's not this mcguffin, but a man who has been tested by his separation from the Ascendancy and the Empire and has failed. His dynamic with Enoch perfectly echoes all of his new eu Watsons. Unlike the poor woman who has to play Hera, the strength of the vocal aspect of his performance effectively overrides the stiffness from all the makeup. When he pauses after Sabine says he wouldn't know about caring about someone like she does for Ezra, I can see him thinking about his own found family. Felony may not have read the new eu Thrawn novels, but Lars Mikkelson sure has.

I am so wildly soft for the way you write Thrawn and especially your fics that revolve around his growing family! I particularly loved your most recent piece about his pregnant wife while stranded on the planet with the Chimaera crew. If you’re interested and have the bandwidth, I would love to make a request because I am so in love with this little AU that you’ve created and I’d love your thoughts on this. How would Thrawn react when his wife goes in to labor and they have to give birth on the remote planet? He specifically mentioned not having a lot of access to proper equipment, so I’m so curious if you think he’d be more cool, calm, and collected, or if you think he might panic and worry a bit more at seeing his beloved in so much pain? Especially if it’s a surprise they’re twins 🙈 Thank you so much for sharing all of your wonderful writing with the rest of us Thrawn Lovers 💙
I bow down to you, my dear. It is my pleasure to share my silly stories with you all! Big kiss on your cheek ❤️

Tag: Delivery, death of a character
You deeply breathe through your nose, holding your back.
It is time.
The Force is calling for you, murmuring to you time has come.
You are not stressed in the slightest, you’ve already given birth and the Force is here to support you, everything is gonna be fine.
You know it deep down your bones.
“Sweetheart,” You catch your daughter’s attention, “Could you go find your father for me, please?”
“Why?” She asks, barely raising her head from the wooden figurines Enoch so nicely carved for her.
“Your siblings are coming.” You rise from your seat and sigh.
She looks up at you in shock before jumping on her feet and sprinting through the corridors of  the Chimaera.
“Daaaaaaaaad!” You hear her screams from the depths of her lungs.
You can’t help but chuckle, she’s impossible sometimes.
You calmly walk through the corridors towards the med bay, until you cross path with Enoch focused on his datapad.
“Good day milady.”
“Oh, it will be good, Captain.”
“Why?” He finally raises his helmeted head from the screen.
“My waters just broke.” You chuckle
He remains still for a second, taking in the info before immediately putting down his datapad and offering you his arms as support.
“Are you alright?” He asks worriedly.
“I am very well, thank you.” You smile, amused by his distress.
He escorts you to the med bay and orders the droids around. You peacefully lay down the bed, taking deep breaths in as the droids start plugging their monitors and prepare the transfusions. You see Enoch agitating himself with his comlink, getting annoyed by anyone he has on the other side.
“I don’t care if you have orders, find him and tell him his wife is giving birth! Now!” He shouts.
You place your feet in the stirrups and wait for the morphine to kick in.
Everything around you is messy with agitation, but you feel very relaxed and calm. Your babies give you a hard kick in the stomach, making you groan in pain.
“Is everything alright?” Enoch asks.
You can’t imagine what Thrawn would do to him if something went wrong under his care, you understand his stress.
“It’s okay, Enoch. Just a kick.”
He seems completely out of his element right now, you can imagine his distressed face under his helmet right now, making you chuckle. He’s more used to death than birth, the poor man.
“Mom!” Your daughter bursts through the door, out of breath.
“Sweetheart, did you find your father?” You gently ask.
“I am here, Cha’cah.” Thrawn appears behind her. “Is everything alright, my love?” He immediately comes to your side, seizing your hand in his.
“I am well, do not worry.” You smile at him “You want to feel them?” You place his hand on your tummy to feel the kicks.
His shoulders seem to relax instantly.
“They are so energetic.” He sighs.
“Yes. Soon you will meet them.”
He looks at you with love and adoration in his eyes while your daughter just looks worried.
“You are shining, cha’cah.”
“It’s because I am happy. Our family is growing, love. I have a present for you.”
“You giving birth is enough of a present for me.” He purrs.
“You’ll see.” You wink.
He leans in to kiss your forehead and you feel a hard contraction in your core.
“Oof…”
“Enoch, take Thiroy outside.” Thrawn orders.
Enoch takes your daughter's hand and escorts her outside the med bay.
The droids place themself around you, monitoring your vitals while Thrawn leans to circle your shoulders with his arm.
“Alright, cha’cah. You got this.” He supports you.
“Of course I got this, I am a Jedi.” You clap back.
You hear again the Force gently calling for you.
You got this!
“Heartbeat rising.” Note one of the droids. “You are dilated, we can proceed.”
You take the iron bars in your hand, ready for the pain to explode any minute now. The contractions get closer and closer, more and more painful each time but you are ready.
Pain suddenly explodes in your stomach, you feel a mass starting to go down, slowly pushing your entrails out of the way. You cry in pain but push with all your might.
“Here we go!” Says one of the droids.
You’re a jedi. You’re a warrior. You’ve already done this, you can do it again!
You grip the iron bars in your fists as you push. As you stop to take your breath back one of the droids takes out a towel under your legs soaked with blood to dispose of it.
“Heartbeat rising.” The second one reiterates.
You grit your teeth and push hard. Even with the morphine this is so painful.  You can’t receive a normal dosage to preserve the Chimaera’s stock of the rare drug. Your lighter dosage can’t keep the pain at bay, just slowly numb your nerves. An epidural is unfortunately impossible in your situation, you’ll have to do without.
Thrawn presses a fresh towel on your forehead to mop the sweat, you weakly smile at him before the contraction starts again. The droid takes out another towel soaked with blood while the other seems to agitate himself.
“There is the head!” it chants.
Thrawn kisses your cheek and heads towards your feet to welcome your baby. His face instantly hardens and he looks concerned.
“Is that normal?” He asks.
“What? Is the baby okay?” You ask between pushes.
“The baby is fine, Cha’cah. Keep pushing, you are doing great, love.” He comforts you.
But you can clearly see his worried expression.
It's harder than you remember.
“We don’t have the proper equipment to assure a safe delivery, my Lord.” The droid answers back. “We will do everything we can.”
You’re in so much pain.
Thrawn gives it a black look before turning to you with hopes in his eyes.
“Their head is out, love. Keep pushing, you are almost there.”
You push with a powerful scream, determined to deliver a healthy baby.
You let yourself fall on the pillow as you hear a baby scream, you look between your legs to see Thrawn holding a blue baby in his hand, looking at them with so much love. The droid gives him a blade to cut the cord and he comes to you to show your little miracle.
“Hey…” You say to your baby, exhausted beyond measure.
“It is a boy.” Thrawn purrs, presenting you with your son.
“Oh Maker…” You just mumble, already feeling love puffing up your heart, “My baby boy…”
But your relief is short lived as the second one is ready to come up, tearing you apart.
“We have a second one.” The droid places itself immediately ready to receive them in its mechanical arms.
“A second…” Thrawns starts before turning to you with sparkling eyes.
“Surprise!” You weakly exclaim through the pain.
“Oh Maker, Cha’cah. Two children?”
“Are you happy?” You groan between contractions.
“I am the happiest man alive!” He presses his forehead with yours, purring deeply.
The second droid comes to take your baby to examine him while the other keeps monitoring you while getting rid of another soaked towel to place another one. Thrawn comes next to it and his expression worsens.
You don’t have time to worry about anything as your baby is determined to come out NOW!.
You push with your last strength, feeling the blood running down your legs.
Maker, this is so painful.
This is a real trial.
“Continue, Cha’cah. I am here with you, nothing can go wrong.”
Hearing your husband’s voice is so reassuring and gives you more strength.
You can’t wait to meet your other baby, you want them in your arms now!
The droid takes out another bloody towel. Your head is very light and you feel really, really tired. You can’t wait for it to be over.
“Do not close your eyes, Cha’cah. Stay with me!” Thrawn orders. Is that worry in his tone?
But you’re so tired, your eyes close themself.
You feel your grips on the bars loosening as you doze off.
“Are they here yet?” You ask with a little voice.
“Not yet, Cha’cah. Please stay with me.”
You sigh, exhausted. Between your half-closed eyelids you see another towel getting thrown off.
That’s a lot of blood, you think, amused.
“I am so… sleepy…” You murmur
Despite the atrocious pain, slumber is taking you.
“No, Cha’cah, stay with me. You hear me? Stay with me! Thiroy is waiting for you! Stay with-”
You don’t hear the end of that sentence, losing consciousness, following the Force’s call.
--------------------------------------------------
Thrawn stands still, stiff like stone, Thiroy in tears next to him. He gently caresses her head with his large hand, trying to console her.
But how consoling a child who lost their mother?
He leans forward to place a flower in your cold hands, a last present before closing the coffin. Thiroy presses herself against his leg, soaking his pants with her tears, he kneels and hug her, murmuring sweet nothing in her ears to appease her pain. She circles his neck and cries in the crook of his neck.
Everyone remains silent.
Everyone is here for your funerals, all the officers and stormtroopers behind their Grand Admiral, paying homage to the woman who kept their leader grounded in reality, who carried all their hope. You were never popular among them as a Jedi, but all wanted to be present to support their Admiral and his family through these hard times. All know this could have been any of the women pregnant in this room, this exile really propulsed them in their hardest trial, but it had to be you. The one keeping Thrawn sane.
They are all very conscious that something broke within him that day, a light has been extinguished in his eyes to let place to a more cold and calculated personality, with less regards for the lives under his care. The last remnants of his mercy seem to have definitively disappeared forever.
When the coffin is sealed the troops bow respectfully to their Lady, a final mark of respect for the warrior that you were.
Thrawn remains eerily silent, with a very calm and composed expression it looks like he just buried a nobody. None is able to see the storm raging in his inner being. None could appease his solitude. He just lost the most precious being in his life, the one who gave him three children to brighten his existence.
But you are not here anymore.
And he is just an empty shell, the shadow of the Grand man he once was.
Now stands a broken, merciless man.
Is sanity is on the verge of collapsing, the only thing keeping him here is his three children, his three jewels, his three treasures.
He will let nothing harm them.
He failed you, but he won’t fail his children. No matter the cost, no matter the number of lives he has to sacrifice, he will keep them safe!
The ceremony ended, the hall is slowly emptying itself in a death silence. Nobody utters a word, to not make him snap.
Thrawn kisses the forehead of Thiroy and let her to her nanny, despite her cries to stay with him. He silently heads towards the nursery where is two baby boys are waiting.
You didn’t even have time to give them names…
He chose a variation of your own name, to always remember you.
Like he could ever forget his true love.
They are peacefully sleeping, unaware of the distress around them. He takes their little hands in his, squeezing them gently. They coo in response. They are so full of life. He looks at his second born, the one he also almost lost when you died with a smile on your face.
He was this close to lose both his wife and child.
But the med droids managed to save him, it’s the only reason he didn’t destroy them right there and here in a fit of rage and pain.
They couldn’t even save your life, what good are they for?
But they could save the life of someone else like they saved his son. So he didn’t destroy them.
He deeply inhales and kneels before the bassinets, breaking down crying.
He couldn’t let his daughter see him in this state, so he waited.
But now that he is alone, he lets all his bottled up emotions go free.
With his sons for only witnesses.

We are not judging how bad the movie is, we are judging which adapted the book the worst. There are good movies that are bad adaptions.
Propaganda below the cut (spoilers may apply)
The Witcher:
Henry Cavill, mostly. Also awful hair and makeup dept.
What they did to Geralt is straight up character assassination and they destroyed his friendship with Dandelion. I will never stop being bitter
completely disregards the themes the books represent and Anglicizing the eastern european literary traditions present. they cast actors who were a poor fit for the roles and the writers expressing open disdain for the books. there is no point to putting work and effort into adapting a media you hate.
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children:
While Miss Peregrine was one of my favorite books as a kid and incredibly unique in the way the story is written (The author basically took a box of weird antique photographs and created an underlying story behind a handful of them) the movie is incredibly boring. Like seriously I can't remember a single goddamn thing about the movie besides my extreme disappointment with it after leaving the theatres. It's probably because the original is a trilogy but they didn't want to make it a trilogy for the movie so they just scrapped the ending of the first book and rewrote a shitty climax where they threw snowballs at the nightmare child eating creatures or something. I remember THAT scene perfectly because it was so, so dumb. It was so stupid oh my God- ALSO, thank God I have a copy of the book from before the film came out because new copies don't have one of the photographs that the actual book uses as a base anymore and instead have the shitty movie poster! We truly do live in a society.
Changed way too much so it doesn't feel like the same thing. The main characters are these kids with different abilities (called peculiarities) and the movie switches around their powers and changes almost everyone's age. Emma and Olive switch powers so that Emma now floats (they also added that she can kind of control air to some extent) when she's supposed to have fire powers to match her fiery personality. Olive can make fire now and she's also aged up from an eight year old to a teenager and put her in this weird romance with Enoch. Enoch is also aged up from a grumpy thirteen year old to around the same age as Olive. Bronwyn, one of the older kids in the book and sort of a motherly figure to the younger kids, is now one of the youngest kids. Hugh and Fiona are aged down and basically have no interaction at all in the movie, even when their book counterparts had such a good relationship. The only one they didn't really change was Horace and Jacob. They also added these gorgon twins that do like two things. The antagonist in the movie is Mr. Barron who honestly isn't super memorable and isn't in the books whatsoever. The ending of the movie is weird too because they manage to turn back time somehow so Jacob's grandfather isn't dead and then he hops through loops so he can be with Emma and the other peculiars. I guess the problem of wights and hollowgasts is magically eliminated and we do not have to deal with the consequences. It took six books to fix everything. I appreciate that the movie engaged me enough to read the series but once I did, I could not believe they did my kids that dirty.
Yikes where to start. The 3 girl characters are all mixed up. There are 2 teens, one who's super strong and has a brother (I'll get back to him) and one who controls fire and is the love interest named Emma. The third girl is a child called Olive who floats. She's lighter than air.
In the movie, strong girl is the child, olive is now the fire girl and is for some reason super introverted, and Emma the love interest floats and gets given a super breath??? Power?? Like she rises a sunken ship by blowing in and keeps a man blown against a wall by blowing air at him. He makes a remark that she'll run out of breath eventually, which happens here because plot convenience, but not when she's blowing in the sunken ship.
The enemies in the book are terrifying Hollows. Creatures who have lost themselves and devour souls of those with powers... The movie decides they eat eyes now. And turn human again. And get busted up in a fair for the final act of the movie. Ugh.
The movie also decides randomly that time travelling through the loops is a thing; a loop being a pocket of time that replays the same day over and over. But apparently this means Main Character can travel back in time and stop his grandfather dying??? What?? His grandfathers death is the whole start of the movie and motivation for the character.
The movie undermines many of things that made the book amazing and even decides it's not a trilogy anymore!! Fuck the other 2 books, right?!
Tldr; it is terribly hollywood-ised and t tim Burton ruined a franchise by trying too hard to make it quirky and fun when the books already had a brilliant sombre and interesting tone to them.

can you spoil us a little bit and tell us about one unexpected biblical character that is gonna show up in the upcoming books?
i can’t remember if you said anything about jesus making an appearance, but i’d love to read some jesus fiction, i think you could write him in a very interesting manner
It's hard for me to know who's unexpected! Everyone who appears feels natural to me, but it's my story so of course I'd think that. Mmmmm I've mentioned this a few times but Cain appears in A&M! He's probably one of my fav parts of the book actually. Of course, Enoch and Noah are in it, though Noah is (maybe surprisingly) not incredibly prominent. Adam and Eve make an appearance as well. I have a lot of thoughts on poor Eve.
For Book 3 (which I'm still making major story adjustments on), the Anti-Christ will definitely be there :)
The Leviathan might be there. Mother Mary might be there. Jesus will appear too, in a couple ways, I think. It's tough to write Jesus, I think! My friend @ghostpoetics is writing a Jesus (and Judas and Lucifer) story right now that you might also be interested in, and I remember chatting w them about how people are much touchier about Jesus stories than they are about God or angels.
I'm excited to write about Jesus (soon! since A&M is just about done)!! I have a lot of thoughts on him and his humanness and all. I want to write a bit about his relationship with his family, Judas, and Paul as well.

Ahsoka s1 ep6
Love how they reminded us of the fact that there are "former imperials working at every level in the new republic" ain't no way they're getting back to the normal galaxy this episode? like bro, dw I didn't forget the New Republic kinda sucks 😂
Deadass thought Ahsoka was gonna spill on her world between worlds experience 💀
Hm, Ahsoka seeing Sabine giving the enemy the map as a fault of her own shortcomings as a teacher when it shows that she really was Anakin's padawan.
Urging Sabine to do what's right and putting feelings aside, while being unable to do that herself and fearing what could happen because of it..... this coming after the episode where Anakin's legacy and Ahsoka's unease with it was explored is 😭😭
Though it is throwing me off that she's still saying the same stuff as before her epithany last episode?
I understand it would be too easy if those fears caused by Anakin's betrayal would be healed after one episode and they probably wanna save that moment for a more exciting scene than her and Huyang sitting in the mouth of a space whale. But it'd have been better if Ahsoka showed that she has progressed in this regard?
I cannot believe they did the cheesiest thing and actually had Huyang say the thing.
This show so corny I love it
Pour one out for the Wolfren people, there was a prison on board lmao
God I hope he keeps his promise, he's a more interesting dark sider if he does
Something about them being so far from civilisation is actually creeping me out....
They were in hyperspace for all of the events of last episode, probably longer, that distance between galaxies is incomprehensible.
If anyone gets stranded or hurt they'd be so far away from help, the typical "fleet arrives to the rescue" at the last second can't happen now.
I don't think it's ever sunk in for me how hopeless Ezra must've felt being stranded here
A signal?!? Really??? That was fast lol
You know, for a literal different galaxy, I'd have expected this planet to look funkier.
Even Dathomir looked more mythical than this
I guess I take back all that dreadful pondering about being stranded far from home in a deserted galaxy cause apparantly there are fucking people living here
ok sure
Poor Sabine, not Jedi enough for Huyang, too Jedi for them witches 😔
I swear to god if they show us another iteration of order 66
I don't think I've ever commented on Shin and Baylan's designs but I love how they almost have a game of thrones fantasy knight vibe about them. Makes sense as this convo suggests they seek glory from the past.
Props to Kevin Kiner, the music is stealing Thrawn's intro scene
Wild guess Im throwing out there, Enoch is Ezra but like ... brainwashed as Savage was
Either that or he is deep undercover as one of those stormtroopers, that def sounds like something he'd do
Bro why there so much familiar kind of typical star wars life on this DIFFERENT galaxy?? 💀
OH HE JUST A BIG LIL PUPPER 🥺🥺
Damn, last episode really felt like clone wars in style and this one really feels like rebels lmao
Shin self identifying as a trained Jedi? Interesting.
Her doubting what Baylan is saying?
Oh?
I cannot wait for Baylan "destroy the past" Skoll to face off against Ahsoka "recently started healing from the wounds of the past" Tano again. I can practically feel the emotional culmination of this show and Ahsoka's character concluding
Oh these creatures are gonna get fridged so bad aren't they?
Ah shucks my wild angsty guess disproven so quickly
Tho Ezra just chilling with a bunch of lil creatures is also very him
They can sense Ahsoka approaching in the whale?¿?¿? That sure is convenient for them
Lmaoooooo Morgan is so angry she's like "sOMEONE FUCKIN KILL THIS DAMN WOMAN ALREADY IVE HAD IT
👏 UP 👏 TO 👏 HERE 👏
WITH HER IMMORTAL BS"
Thrawn upon learning Ahsoka's master was Anakin: "oh, psssht, I know what buttons to push, easy"

This is kinda impossible, but what if Enoch/Tiphereth B survived into Library of Ruina/brought back to life after the good ending somehow and also got turned into a child along with Tiphereth A?
Would lil Lisa end up becoming bolder and have a sharper tongue than she does in AIP without him?
What would a younger than ever before Enoch/Tiphereth B act since Tiphy also had a personality change in AIP?
How would Ayin react to seeing his first-to-die adoptive son again?
How would X react to seeing the person whose first death was what kickstarted the whole spiral of suffeeing that lead to the Script and X existence?
How would Roland react to seeing someone that he cringely called Tiphereth's boyfriend before she corrected him with a punch?
Which dad would end up taking him in? Ayin because he wants to be a dad to Enoch again and Lisa insists she and Enoch are siblings? Roland because he seems to have the most calm/thoughtful kids and Enoch is one philosophical child? X because Garion wants someone to have debates with and because he needs someone calm amongst his kids?
Most importantly, what more cute and sad interactions would we have had if Enoch was present in AIP?
Dear Anonymous,
Ah, such a poignant question, eh? I suppose it's only natural considering how important Enoch is to Tiphy, and how it's inevitable that he will have to be addressed at some point, so I'm quite glad that we'll touch on that in this ask, ehehe.
Well, to start things off, I think that bringing Enoch into the Library cannot be done without some good angst. After all, the poor boy's story is just chock-full of it, and who am I to not add onto a good angsty story?
I think, as a start, that if Enoch was transported to the Library as Tiphereth B, then he would have severe memory loss issues as a side-effect of his constant reconstruction in the Corporation and the fact that he was turned into a Sephirah long after he died (since it's implied he died at least a few weeks before Carmen's suicide, and definitely a month or two before everything went down the drain and the Head attacked), so his brain was certainly not in prime condition. I think his personality and intelligence would remain unchanged, but he would definitely have difficulty remembering faces and names, and perhaps even people. Maybe he'd only really remember Tiphy/Lisa and perhaps some deeply-implanted memories of Carmen and Ayin, since he was quite attached to the two of them during his lifetime (from what little we hear about him, anyway), so I think his presence in the Library would be a constant source of joy and torment for Tiphy/Lisa, since she'd be overjoyed he could actually join her again and she didn't have to mourn him anymore, but at the same time, seeing his state sometimes makes her wish that he was actually resting.
Should he be de-aged alongside the rest of the Librarians, I think he would definitely get Lisa to open up a little, if only to speak up on his behalf because he would be quite quiet and calm. I think that, although she would be shy as well, she would grow a little bolder to voice his demands and opinions, at least with Ayin. Of course, it's only logical that Ayin would take him in as well, seeing how he'd be inseparable from Lisa. In LC, it seemed as if they knew each other ever since they were little kids, so I assume that Lisa would definitely recognise him, although she wouldn't really be overprotective of him seeing how she'd remember nothing of the Old Laboratory, but she'd definitely have a nagging sensation in her mind that demands she doesn't separate from him at all costs and to always keep him under her gaze, though she would probably be lax on that sensation from time to time.
As for differences in character...Perhaps Enoch wouldn't be as...resigned as he was shown to be in LC. That was one of his most defining features, considering it was what led him to he okay with the Cogito experiment and threw the whole LC cast down the rabbit hole it's known for, so perhaps he would still be calm, intelligent and eccentric, though not necessarily as much of a death-seeker or as resigned as he was, showing some determination of his own when he'd be given a warm house and a warm family without the Outskirts' memories.
How would Ayin react...I think he'd be very scared, all things considered, in the same way someone would be scared of breaking a million-dollar vase. After all, it'd be like seeing a ghost, and considering the circumstances surrounding Enoch, it would a ghost that haunted Ayin for his entire life. I think that describing their relationship in a single word would be: Guilt. It's not similar to any of the guilt that Ayin has to grapple with on a regular basis, however; it is a crushing, all-encompassing guilt that encompasses everything that was caused by the experiment with Enoch, from Carmen's death to the Library's creation, and it would also be the type of guilt that flinches at how unassuming Enoch would be. Whenever he'd innocently thank or hug or shake Ayin's hand, it would cause tremendous amounts of guilt to the older man simply because he knows how this story ended, even though Enoch would harbour no ill-will whether de-aged or as a theoretical Patron Librarian.
When it comes to X, I don't think he'd harbour any anger or resentment to Enoch, although it'd certainly be a fascinating thought experiment for him to go: "I wouldn't have been here without him, huh?", and he would likely give him a few stares from time to time for no reason other than that he's simply fascinated by his presence considering he only ever saw him under the Script's influence. He would see what Carmen regretted so much following the Cogito experiment, and if anything I think he would pity him for what he had to endure during the Script.
As for Roland, I think this is the most interesting of the dads not when it comes to the reaction to Enoch and his interactions with him, but with how Enoch forms Roland's perception of Ayin; he knew that Enoch was sacrificed for the Cogito experiment, but seeing how calm and friendly he is would definitely increase the resentment for the experiment (and subsequently Ayin) tenfold...at least at the start of the Incident. When he and Ayin grow closer, I think Roland might start asking if there were other ways to progress the Cogito research without resorting to experimenting on Enoch, and he would definitely understand the plight of the Old Laboratory more, not being too judgemental although not letting off the Old Lab off the hook for using Enoch so readily, even if there was a lot of hesitation with the decision. Eventually, I think Roland sees Enoch as a turning point for Ayin, in a way, with the latter's immense guilt and pain would drive him towards being a better person to try taking care of him not just as Enoch, but as Tiphy B whenever they do manage to turn the kids back.
Although all of the possibilities with other parents work precisely for the reasons you mentioned, I think that it's simply long overdue for us to give Ayin a second chance at this parenting business, especially when he's the one with such an emotional connection to Enoch both before and after the Old Lab's fall.
As for cute and sad interactions...Hmm, well, I think Enoch would mellow out a little with Angela, cooing at her and playing with her as his real little sister, which would definitely inflame the flames of jealousy between her and Lisa, with Lisa vying for Ayin's affection as a way to get back at Angela for hogging 'her' Enoch. It would be one of the more unique 'battles' out there, eheh.
But as for sad interactions...perhaps the saddest of them all would be Ayin realising that he has to re-age Enoch back into Tiphy B and endure the loss and separation again after just 15 days together as the father and son they always should've been. It definitely makes the decision to re-age the Librarians far harder, especially considering the difficulties Enoch would contend with as Tiphereth B...Of course, without mentioning the copious sad interactions where Ayin shrivels a little on himself whenever he'd see Enoch appreciating him, knowing deep down that he failed him long, long ago...
Of course, there are many more possible interactions, but this ask is getting quite a bit long now, so hey, if you're curious about them you can always send a separate ask and I'll try to answer semi-soonish. Until next time, Anon, be well, stay safe, and see ya'!
