Llega un punto en que te interesa más cómo es la persona: su vitalidad, su creatividad, su intelecto, su energía, cómo se comunica, cómo piensa, cómo ve la vida, cómo se está desarrollando, etcétera. Lo demás queda en segundo término.
So I want to take some time to analyze how important this moment is, and not just for shipping:
Up until this moment, Enrique has been the safety net for the group. He’s been the one to hire shady people to save them from the church, to use Necromancer scrolls his money got for him, and to hide them in his house. He’s the protector, the plan maker, and the moneybags all in one. He’s the leader no questions asked, the strong solid wall protecting the other two from the outside world.
And Enrique deserves that title hand’s down. He’s smart and incredibly good at thinking on his feet, coming up with pragmatic plans none of the others would dream of.
But Enrique, he’s been through Hell. His fiance died, and he never had the chance to mourn before bringing her back. Only she doesn’t remember him and comes with another man attached to her. And instead of breaking down, Enrique adapts. But now…he’s lost his family, his reputation, his money all in one fell swoop. All of which were the tools he used to to protect the others. Even his one-time fiance Mia has abandoned him.
But even then, Enrique perseveres. He has to. He needs to be strong to help Mercedes, who is literally just an arm and can’t get herself out of this situation. He builds himself a tower of boxes and he actually suceeds in getting a hand on the deck.
Then the board breaks, and he falls.
And you can read the panic in his eyes, the all encompassing fear. In this moment, Enrique realizes he is going to die, and there is nothing he can do about it.
And then…
He’s caught.
Seconds before death, Victor saved him with his rope.
And look at Enrique’s reaction:
He’s in shock, he can’t even form sentences. Just staring at Victor in awe. Because this is the first time Enrique has failed, and someone has been there to catch him.
For the first time, Enrique is experiencing what it is like to be rescued, to have a safety net like the one he tries to provide for his friends. One that will stay by him even after he loses his money, family, and reputation. Someone who wants nothing from him except his safety.
And Enrique’s not used to that. No wonder he looks so smitten. For the first time (I’m assuming since mercedes died) he has someone to rely on.
Enrique: Monica! Nita ran away!
Monica: What!?
Enrique: She told me to wait ten mintues before I told you. But I'm a grown man, and she's a little girl. So I waited eight.
Monica: You waited eight minutes to tell me Anita ran away?
Enrique: Don't tell her I didn't wait the full ten!
I've been feeling totally normal about Tezca Tlipoca from Soul Eater recently. Having very normal thoughts. Very normal.
Sometime ago, I designed what I imagined he looks like when he doesn't have his silly animal masks on.
I headcanon that he has a burn scar that he got from when he was a student at the DWMA. I'd like to come up with the story but currently my mind is blank. Below is what I like to think he looked like as a student.
I havent completely lost hope but its looking very bleak
I would still love him as a player, he's done so much good in his career that can never be forgotten but still. There isnt a better way to phrase this but i will lose quite a bit if respect for him if this happens.
When Victor tells Enrique he can’t (and won’t) leave Mercedes, we can see he is visibly upset
The dark coloring goes to surround him, as if this is a villian moment where his true character is revealed.
And Victor? He’s terrified:
Look at him. He’s so afraid of what this much more important man will do to him when he realizes what’s going on. Will he hurt him? Kill him? He’s completely covered in darkness, visualizing the panic drowning him as the possibilities run through his head.
The darkness has consumed Enrique’s face, purple and black lines zigzag in the background show the tension. At first it seems as if this is a manifestation of Enrique’s anger. But look closer. We are looking over Victors shoulder. This is Victor’s panic here, so strong he can’t look Enrique in the face.
And what does Enrique do?
He sits down, and apologizes.
And this was where I figured that they were going to work out. Because Enrique was genuinely angry. But he could also see his anger was upsetting Victor. He became the bigger man, owned up to letting his anger get out of hand, and apologized.
Nobodies partner is perfect. Nobodies partner isn’t going to get angry or jealous. But what matters is how they handle it when they do. Victor is understandably skittish. It’s hard for him to trust others. Mercedes he can trust because he knows she has no choice if she wants to be heard, but Enrique? He could easily turn on Victor if he wants too. And victor knows it. He’s afraid of angering him because of what it would mean to him. He’s loyal to him not out of loyalty, but out lf fear.
But here he’s seen the worst in Enrique, seen his anger, and also seen him control it. Instead of hurting him, Enrique apologizes. And in this moment, Victor begins to trust Enrique. Not because he could hurt him, but because he won’t.
The Majestics organising a Renaissance fair and inviting random teams - GIF edition
Thanks @balsamfue for the request! More info on requests here.
Olivier followed by the rest of the Majestics, welcoming the teams at Versailles (in this case a b&b near the fair, somewhere in France)
His majesty Ralf/Robert Jürgens flexing his blonde wig to hit on the girls
Julia Fernandez Queen of Spain, not taking any of his bullshit
Enrique/Giancarlo Tornatore dressed up as Leonardo da Vinci, about to invent a flying beyblade with real wings to beat the other teams
Takao bringing the message about the beyblade with wings from one king to the other, followed by his servant Daichi
His other majesty Johnny McGregor, listening to Takao explaining Giancarlo da Vinci's story of beyblades with wings
Yuriy Ivanov literally to any of the European kings, taking the role of the dangerous enemy as always
Lord Hiwatari, his charme an evergreen regardless of the century
Max, Emily and Rick Anderson who are not big experts of European Renaissance since they are from the States so they just dressed up as some weird fairies and are now waiting for the duel between the Europeans and the Russians with flying beyblades
Bonus: Boris Kuznestov, that one knight who disappears somewhere at some point of the battle and comes back two hours later
Hello! May I ask if you have any headcanons about Enrique and Luisa Rivera?
I have a few for Enrique. I made a comic of one that you can read here:
And I've done some one-shot stories featuring Enrique. You can read them here:
I think those should about cover it for Enrique. Well, there is one more: Enrique had a favorite rooster on his paternal grandparents' farm, which he named Panchito, after the Disney character from the Three Caballeros. It disappeared one night, and Enrique's pretty sure coyotes got it. The rooster becomes his alebrije, and in that form, it has characteristics of a duck and a parrot as well.
As for Luisa, I have a few head canons for her. She's younger than Gloria, but closer to her in age than Enrique is to Berto. The girls' mother does not get along with Berto and Enrique's mother. At all. But their father is very popular around the hacienda and is good friends with Franco. According to a tie-in book, Luisa can't carry a tune in a bucket, and I've adopted that idea. But she still enjoys playing the maracas. While Gloria married into the Riveras in part for the shoes, Luisa fell in love with Enrique with no ulterior motives (and she 100% teases her sister about this). She really only met and started getting to know Enrique after Berto and Gloria became engaged. Giving up music was more of a sacrifice for her than it was for Gloria because Luisa associates music with her abuelo, with whom she was very close. Her abuelo was a music teacher (despite her best efforts, she was one of his worst students), and was always a kind and generous man who valued family above all other earthly things. What he never told her, however, was that his love for family was a conscious decision on his part to distinguish himself from his absent biological father, who always denied having offspring (and he had many). His father was Ernesto de la Cruz, and he kept the man's identity a secret for fear his descendants would want to emulate such a selfish, egotistical man who abused women and abandoned family at every opportunity. Miguel does later discover the connection, and Luisa fully understands his struggle with that revelation. She has to come to terms with the idea that her great-grandfather murdered her husband's great-grandfather.
