Postponing my COTF update I had planned for Monday because I decided last minute to change one tiny, little detail 🙂‍↕️☝🏾 ALSO I have this feverish itch to set up this flashback scene with Simeon and Grace that if I don’t execute like right away, I won’t be able to think about anything else lol because if you recall, Simeon was incredibly tempted to have an affair with Grace moments before the start of the war and I really need to unpack that and how that affects Grace today as well as her survivors guilt. Because even though she was healing those around her, did she ever truly heal herself?
Speaking of flashback scenes, those are my favorite to do and I got plenty in the chamber lol I love alluding to something, which is 99% of my storytelling lol, and then being able to show and expand on it via flashback. I have several big scenes like that in the queue of my brain I just can’t wait to see in action and almost every main character has at least 2 or so big scenes. Here’s some sneak peaks of what to anticipate straight from my google doc (under cut for spoilers);
Adelina’s rise to power
Adelina’s fall from grace + death
Nora’s curse -and redemption
The birth of Edin
The battle of the Occult war
Adie’s first curse
L. Faba’s turning (from Spellcaster to Vampire)
The creation of Lucius Glass V4
Teenaged Tomax and his master, the former Sage of Alchemy
The tale of two sisters (Nora and Adelina’s relationship dynamic as youths)
The Cruel Story of Oyema; the first Dark Witch (will have triggers warnings)

Devil Theory
This is an idea I've had for a while now about the inhabitants of hell. How hell became the way it is. And why stickler looks different from the imps. Remember those really cool tapestry that the devil has in his throne room?
Tumblr media
Well, my theory is these tapestries are meant to represent how the devil became king of hell and what happened to the demons before his reign and how hell became the way it did. I think what happened after he fell from heaven he went on a rampage destroying all of the demons that lived in hell except for very few that managed to survive. As seen in the left and right tapestry the devil's surroundings are very dimly lit and not on fire as we see hell in the present. I think those two represent how early hell looked before the devil took over. And the middle one represents the end of his rampage and how he was starting to make hell to his liking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Something I noticed about these tapestries is the demons look nothing like the imps we see i the present.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These demons have their own unique features and are very different from the imps that we've seen in the show. They are also being eaten, tortured, and burned alive from the devil. My theory is that after he fell the devil went on a rampage killing most of the demon population around him. And after his rampage was over, he decided to repopulate hell by creating imps in his own image.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mostly came up with this theory because, I thought it was cool. I also thought it would kind of explain why the imps look like the devil and why they're the only demons besides stickler and the finest demons and the guard demons look different. I also think stickler and those others look different cause they are some of the only "real" demons left. Further evidence of this is dd confirmed stickler isn't an imp.

Okay ima give the tags of my previous post about the "Fallen Angel" theory it's own post lol cuz they decided to fuck up
Pretty much I think that Courtney is a fallen angel
I mean the way she talks about her "home", it sounds like shes never actually been there. She says things like "they say" a lot, like shes only ever heard of it.
And I wonder if that's why she has the cuffs on. The angels were punishing her by kicking her out of heaven, but also weren't letting her enter hell either.
Hell, how did she NOT know angels put the cuffs on in the first place? Maybe she has memory loss? (Honestly that might be another explantation lol)
And altho it might just be nothing, her reaching up toward heaven before realising she was meant to be gesturing to hell might be a little bit of foreshadowing (in her song, I think episode 9?)
So yeah there might be more but this is my theory

Something I’ve been thinking about when listening to ‘Crooked’ is how Ozzie seems to really relate to Fizz with lines like ‘I think you’re messy but I’m messy too’ and singing about his own ‘crooked heart’ and how he finds Fizz’s imperfections beautiful.
And I think this could get really interesting if Asmodeus and the rest of the Sins are fallen angels just like Lucifer. I mean imagine what Ozzie’s sense of self-image is like if he was an angel who left or was expelled from Heaven and took on this new form in Hell?
Like we’ve always wondered why the Sins look the way they do, particularly in contrast to the demons they seem to rule over. Asmodeus rules over the succubi and incubi yet is this multi-headed fire-rooster, Beelzebub rules over the hellhounds yet is some mashup of a fox/canine and a bee, and now Mammon rules over the shark-demons yet is some weird spider/pine-tree thing.
What if the reason they all look like this is the RESULT of them being Fallen Angels? Specifically, the result of their expulsion from Heaven? What if this is the whole reason for them being ‘embodiments of sin’ in the first place? What if it was all originally intended as a PUNISHIMENT by Heaven for whatever transgressions they may have committed? Something meant to ‘curse’ them when they fell.
In which case, I think it’s all too easy to imagine why Ozzie empathizes, relates and connects so much with Fizzerolli and his struggles. Because Fizz is going through a struggle likely all too similar to one that Ozzie may have gone through, what ALL of the Sins likely went through after their fall. Expelled from their home, having their bodies massively changed and told it was BAD. And I think Crooked shows how Ozzie coped with it: By embracing what he had become and finding the beauty in it, something that he now uses to help Fizzerolli, showing that there is no shame in all their crooked, messy imperfections, and that there is even beauty in them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I imagine that ALL of the Sins did more or less the same: They embraced and OWNED this ‘curse’ Heaven sought to ‘punish’ them with. Embraced these ‘sins’ they are supposed to embody and made them their own. It’s why Ozzie and Bee are able to express this very positive interpretation of Lust and Gluttony respectively. As a way of making a new life for themselves and also probably a big ‘fuck-you’ to Heaven.
Tumblr media
Now that’s not to say that ALL of the Sins were able to do this in a positive manner, Mammon being a clear example. I imagine that as we are introduced to the rest of the Sins, we’re going to see more of a range of positive and negative ways they’ve chosen to express the ‘sin’ they embody. Like even Asmodeus has been shown to have had his hang-ups on Lust and Love being exclusive, leading to him keeping his true relationship with Fizzerolli secret.
Tumblr media
Though it’s clear over the last couple episodes that Ozzie isn’t worried about that anymore.
And I think that in particular is REALLY interesting, because it implies that the Sins aren’t actually bound to a particular way of indulging. Rather, the way they express their ‘sin’ is not by compulsion but by CHOICE. Which I think puts all of the Sins’ actions in a pretty interesting light.
Like it means that Mammon being this petty, skeevy, manipulative asshole isn’t some grand, nebulous ‘Embodiment of Greed’ thing, but rather simply a Mammon thing. The product of his own personal issues and hang-ups. Which also weirdly enough implies that there’s hope for Mammon. The possibility that he doesn’t HAVE to be this way. Admittedly it would almost certainly take a (pardon the pun) HELLUVA family intervention to have a hope of making that happen, but you never know. It would certainly be in keeping with the themes of the show.
All in all, I’m finding more and more the possible backgrounds of the Seven Sins to be VERY compelling. Not just for ‘The Lore’ reasons, but because it further develops the Sins as characters. It takes these monstrously powerful and ancient beings and shows them to be far more grounded and, for lack of a better word, human than we might give them credit for.

I know the theories that Crowley was Raphael. And I love them, they are AMAZING!
But, you know who fits him better?
Kokabiel, the Angel of Stars.
A FALLEN ANGEL.

I believe Carmilla Carmine to be a fallen angel
As well as the fact that she has daughters when sinners can't reproduce there is an important detail I can't believe no one has brought up.
Look at her, I mean really look at her, what is something you might notice? Other than her stunning beauty
Tumblr media
An amazing lack of features she has. She has no wings, no shark teeth, no monstrous/bestial features, no horns (I was surprised to learn that her buns weren't wrapped around horns), no inorganic parts like Vox or what have you and she shares this trait with her daughters Odette and Clara. The only arguably inhuman trait are her large hands, which are not exactly a very defining trait especially since they moved away from her pilot design of having claws.
Look at the denizens of Hell:
Tumblr media
They are incredibly diverse in form, having taken on features influenced by personality, sin, time period and cause of death. Even most "basic" sinners still look like generic devils.
Tumblr media
(I used Mrs. Mayberry from Helluva Boss because she is the best shot of a "devil" sinner but they are seen often as background characters in Hazbin Hotel as well).
Now there is an exception to this though: Velvette
Tumblr media
Now with her, I believe that is less a lore reason and more an artistic design choice since it is apparent her outfit and hairstyle is going to be different in every appearance she has so they left out any extra features to make that easier for the animators.
Tumblr media
She is essentially a blank canvas for the animators to play dress up doll with, but she does still lack a nose which makes her a little less human looking than Carmilla.
Now getting back to Carmilla's daughters, even if Odette and Clara also died at the same time as Carmilla which is why they are together in Hell, the chances that they wouldn't have enough variables to have any unique features of their own feels slim, did these three really have so little variation in personality and sin one of them wouldn't look a little more monstrous?
Tumblr media
Some have pointed out the horns they have are probably fake, with Odette's being her hairband, which with Carmilla's hair buns seem to almost be an attempt to "fit in" with the sinners.
Overall as many have brought up, the Carmines have more in common with Vaggie design wise with how few unique features they have, and we all know what Vaggie's deal turned out to be.
Anyway that's my two cents and I'd love to know your thoughts if you have any.

Anyone else had new thoughts on who Crowley was before the ‘fall’ since Season 2 aired…
I know the Raphael theory is still knocking about (actually had a weird epiphany regarding this last night so more of that later) but I think Crowley was an entirely different angel.
From Season 2 we now know he was a very powerful angel indeed (dominion, throne or greater) thanks to his classified document clearance in heaven, but also because of the seriously powerful miracle he and Aziraphale cooked up with very minimal effort.
After an initial idea and since doing some research, I’m leaning towards him being Samael, Angel of Death.
Now I don’t mean Samael as in the one who becomes Lucifer - there are many texts that see these as two separate entities, with Lucifer falling thanks to his pride and Samael… well did he even fall at all?
Samael is one of the Angels of Creation alongside Orifiel, Anael, Zachariah, Raphael, Gabriel and Michael. In Season 2 in episode 1 we see Crowley as an Angel playing a pretty big part in the creation of the cosmos, in collaboration with others.
Samael is the ruler of the Fifth Heaven, which happens to be Earth.
Samael is known as the “Venom of God” and is executioner of death sentences as decreed by God. He is the accuser, seducer and destroyer. As a seducer, Samael tempts humans into committing evil deeds. Through Samael, God tests humanity and the Archangel draws out the sinful and unrepentant, then God judges then and Samael destroys them.
In seducing humanity into acts of evil, Samael is just doing his job. He is both good and evil and is highly loyal to God’s word, doing his bidding without question - he mostly destroys sinners.
Samael is also the one who planted the Tree of Knowledge in the garden of Eden to tempt Adam. God however forbade Adam to touch it and punished Samael by banishing him. In retaliation, Samael took the form of the serpent and tempted Eve to eat the fruit from the tree.
When Abraham’s faith was tested by God and commanded to sacrifice his son Isaac, it was Samael who whispered in his ear to disobey.
So where does Crowley fit into this then? Well Samael hasn’t exactly ‘fallen’ from heaven, his angelic role took him down to Earth, performing deeds considered demonic and evil and his refusal to bow down to God’s creation led to his banishment. You could say he ‘sauntered vaguely down’?
We know from Season 1 that Crowley was the serpent that tempted Eve so he fits into the Samael theory there.
In Season 2 we see that Crowley had a ‘permit’ from God to destroy Job’s children and possessions to test his faith in God.
In Season 1, Crowley talks to God and says “I know you’re testing them, you said you were going to be testing them. But you shouldn’t test them to destruction. Not to the end of the world.”
So whilst Samael is an Angel, he very much has the role and characteristics of a demon and can be described as a fugitive or wanderer.
Regarding Samael planting the Tree of Knowledge, who else do we know with a bit of a plant fetish?!
Tumblr media
Some other fun facts: Samael has red hair, and is associated with the planet Mars. He is also associated with the left side, the North and Tuesday.
It’s also said that Samael’s name shouldn’t be spoken aloud so as not to draw his attention - is this why Crowley chose a different name and doesn’t introduce himself to Aziraphale at the Horsehead nebula?
——————————————-
So here’s the slightly scary part and if Crowley actually was/is Samael…
In the Second Coming (as was mentioned as Heavens next focus at the end of season 2) the messiah is supposed to deliver everyone from death and everyone will be resurrected. But he’ll do more than bring life, he’s supposed to bring an end to death itself, including the very concept of it. Without the finality of destruction, the Angel of Death (Samael) serves no purpose and is himself, annihilated. Thus, with death undone, Samael becomes the Anti-Christ.
Could season 3 see Aziraphale finally forced to make a choice between heaven and the one he loves?

in fallen angel, what makes the lower realm the lower realm? is it a separate place from the magic realm? or just a different area of the magic realm? how does it differ from the way we've seen your characters live?
Hellooo :) thanks for asking!
The magic realm is divided into a magical class system. Think: the more powerful mages = upper class / lower skilled mages = lower class. Proper training and education is vital to being a spellcaster. If you don't have the means to attend the School of Magic to excel in your practice you're basically pushed out of society as lower class citizen. Nasty work, but the ultimate truth is it was designed to keep a power imbalance and it's creation was essential so that the Sage Council was needed. The sages make a lot of decisions for the well being of Magic Society and it was always for their own benefit at the end of the day.
Here's a snippet of my WIP "magic realm" It's completed divided in half between the classes. Higher ranking mages are able to reap the benefits of having more knowledge, thus more power and can afford to live in the luxurious side of the realm where as the residents of the lower realm are in the more densely populated city area where they mostly hold laborious jobs and sell poorly crafted potions as way to get by.
Tumblr media
And when I say border, imagine an invisible veil, it's purpose to separate the two realms. To travel back and forth is to utilize portals. It's sole purpose to keep the realms apart.
And here's some Sage Facts:
Simeon, Grace, L. Faba and Morgyn were all born and raised in the upper realm. So they have this sort of better than you attitude at times, some more exclusively than others..which is why Simeon turned his nose up at going to a lower realm pub or how Grace got far better training in things like combat from attending a better school than Tomax who never attended school at all.
Tomax was born and raised in the lower realm. He was just a poor kid, often stealing to get by. He was able to apprenticed at 13 and made it his life goal to do whatever he had to get out of the lower realm. It's also why he may not be as powerful magic wise, but he's plucky and that counts for something lol
I'm still building the world, which is why I say it's WIP. I'm using TOOL mod to furnish the world and make it really feel like the magic realm not not just Windenburg, you know? I also use this mod for the map replacement and world edit which helps the immersion :)

I find the parallels between Vaggie/Charlie and Carmilla/Zestial to be really neat.
Vaggie and Carmilla both leapt to the defense of Charlie and Zestial. Both bite their tongue at danger and disrespect directed towards themselves, but when who they care about is the one being threatened, they react with no hesitation or composure to defend them.
In conjunction, Charlie and Zestial are both more powerful than Vaggie and Carmilla (even if this is more strongly implied in Zestial’s case). Yet they seem so much more hesitant to act on this power. Charlie explicitly hates using her royal status or fighting people, while Zestial just endures Velvette’s insults and questioning, only making small verbal defenses of his position. Not to mention how they’re both much older than Vaggie and Carmilla. Charlie is a slow aging immortal and Zestial is the oldest living Overlord and is on the regular described as ancient.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Charlie and Zestial both see themselves as someone Vaggie and Carmilla should confide in. Charlie isn’t upset that Vaggie was Exorcist, rather that she never told her. While Zestial “implores [Carmilla] to share the load.” He’s worried about this weight she’s carrying by herself, and wants to support her. I imagine Charlie felt similarly, Vaggie has been carrying her secret in silence for years, and with Charlie dedicating her life to helping others, it must her to know someone she’s so close to has been hurting this long.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Ain’t you supposed to protect this place?”
“I’ll keep you safe, and keep this secret.”
There’s also how their ‘protector role’ seems completely self assigned. I highly doubt Charlie ever wanted Vaggie to be her personal guard, and Zestial reacts in surprise at being included with who Carmilla is ‘keeping safe.’ If you take Zestial’s reaction (or lack their of) to Velevette, you could make the point they do this because Charlie and him are unlikely to defend themselves (or at the very least hesitate to do so). Which I think speaks to the intrinsic sense of duty Vaggie and Carmilla have.

It's possible that Vaggie genuinely didn't realize that an angelic weapon in a demon's hands is enough to hurt an angel. The experience of having her eye gouged out and wings chopped off was certainly more than traumatic, and she definitely wouldn't have wanted to dwell in it and retrace events.
