I just realized, If I had a nickel for everytime Bill Farmer played a role of a old but wise and smart character who is also comedic for Disney I have three nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it’s happened three times!
Character #1. Doc from The 7D (2014-2016)
Character #2: Hop Pop from Amphibia (2019-2022)
Character #3: Goofy from Ducktales 2017 2017-2021 (and Goofy in general but you get the point)
"American Intelligence virtually accused you of treason a long time ago."
"Accused. I'm innocent."
"It's not enough. To be innocent you have to seem to be innocent. What's a guilty man do in your position? If he signs a confession, well, that's the end of him, all hope is gone. But the innocent man, well, he can sign a false confession... because if he saves his life, he'll never be without the hope that he can clear himself."
"So you're saying if I sign the confession, I'm innocent; if I don't sign, I'm guilty."
“it still hasn’t sunk in that we have a house, it feels like we’re squatting and the owners are gonna come back and find out we’ve been eating all their cereal” and yeah it does feel like that
all of this is so surreal, like we have a washing machine and a mortgage
i used to think we’d die of heat stroke in the slabs after aging into permanent residency lmao
Rap controls the world. I was there when rap was young. I was a youngster for real when The Sugar Hill Gang, Kurtis Blow and Mille Mel And The Furious Five was first hitting NYC radio. I seen the changes in the whole culture from clothing, slang, dance and aggressive behavior. The artists mentioned above used to rap about problems in the hood as far as being broke and the struggle. A few years later breakdancing came into play which first introduced battling into the game as breakdancers actually battled with their unique dance moves. Michael Jackson did not start the moonwalk, that got popping in the hood early eighties. Then drug dealing came into the game and rappers started dropping verses about flipping kilos and selling crack, getting money, gold chains, teeth and earrings and all the crazy stuff you saw on the wire. The diamond came into play and the fashion started spreading nationwide. Skipping to the future, all directions started getting into the game and on radio stations in their areas. Rap started really popping and went worldwide. NYC gangster rap and West coast gangster rap blew up and everybody turned thugs. Then later on many influential styles came in and then came Drill rap. The worst of them all because you went directly at opponents and not just dissed rapper sideways. Drill brought out that true murder in the game and now people worldwide got opps. Point is, rap can steer the masses to the next faze of humankind. For instance if rappers started rapping about peace and it blew up, and radio stations only played those songs for the next 10 years the world would start to slowly become more peaceful, but we know that’s not happening because media wants it just the way it is now. The rap purge. It’s a fact.
For all the discourse on Hamiltons portrayal of slave owners and it’s beloved status among weird types of people I think it’s weird to just roll over and cede it as Liberal given the central theme is: That Black and Brown people would be totally justified in violently overthrowing the US government, and doing so would be completely in the spirit of the deified American Revolution.
