Torrential rainfall filled Greywood the day of April 20, lightning piercing the skies as thunder shook the Winters household. Abigail cried out in labor pains as William panicked, unable to drive her to the hospital with the flooding outside. Breathe, the man called out to his wife as she laid there in bed doing her best to push. Late in the evening, Mikael made his appearance to the world being his fashionably late self. And within a few minutes, his twin brother Nathan joined him. As time went on, it became apparent in Greywood, you could not walk out your door without running into the Winters. Many joked, they come a dime a dozen. The family over a span of a little over a decade grew to ten children giving Mikael nine siblings to annoy with his dramatics. Sometimes, people looked at the Winter’s family oddly. The family were the undertakers in the small town, owning a large funeral home where the children were raised around death their whole lives. Out of the Winter’s clan, Mikael was labeled the smart one okay…the dramatic one. In his mind, he knew he was smart but it wasn’t about intelligence as much as knowing what he wanted and figuring out how to get it. In school, Mikael played sports and was on all the academic teams. He excelled in every subject to the point he skipped a grade and he certainly did not mind letting his family know it. Throughout high school, with his good looks and charming personality he dated around, unable to find a girl he clicked with on any level. Upon graduation, Mikael opted to leave the state when he received his acceptance letter from Columbia University. Needless to say, the city life was drastically different from the small town he grew up in. It took some adjusting, but eventually he became a member of New York City. When he received his degree, he got a job as a stock trader on Wall Street where he made a name for himself and made many people wealthy. During his time in New York, he lived a lavish lifestyle only returning to Greywood during holidays to visit friends and family. While in New York, he went through men like crazy until he was about twenty-nine and he met Hector. Mikael instantly fell with the sweet tongued man. Everything was amazing for years, until it wasn’t. The last four years, Hector started to become controlling and emotionally abusing Mikael. It got so bad that Mikael faded away from his family, he stopped visiting Greywood and even stopped calling his family and wouldn’t return phone calls to them. Essentially, he became isolated trying to appease Hector and losing himself. It would not be until Hector finally hit Mikael that he decided to reach out for help. Although he desperately wanted to call his twin, the person who was his other half he thought he burned that bridge and called one of his other brother’s Aiden to come help him. Now, Mikael returns to Greywood with his tail between his legs and is living with Aiden until he figures out what to do now.

Mikael and his twin both have distinct powers that work with each other, Nathan is able to see the past and Mikael the future in their dreams. It is not something that Mikael can call upon often, but it did help him in his job on Wall Street. He would come back to Greywood here and there to use his powers to view stocks and all. Mikael’s power amplifies the closer he is to his twin.

Details: 

The Abhrams are pretty much political royalty in Covington. From the time the town started, every generation in the Abhrams family has run and won their mayoral bid every single time. Benjamin Abhrams, the siblings' father, also went into politics. They were a pretty happy family so long as Benjamin was winning the elections he was running for. He was a bit self-absorbed (as politicians often are) and rather absent in terms of parenting. He wasn't a bad father the times he was there, but he was not that connected to his children. He was more of a floater in their lives in those initial days, spending time with them during his euphoric highs, but holing himself away from the family during most of the other times. He lost his second mayoral bid and that shook him to his core. He was the first in the entire line of Abhrams to have lost. After two years, in an interim election after the mayor at the time stepped down, he won again and he was positive that the previous loss had been a fluke. When he ran in the following election, he lost once more and that changed the course of the Abhrams family.

Benjamin got really touchy about everything because he felt like a failure. He started to take it out on his children, mostly Wyatt for the time that he was there because Wyatt's temper matched their fathers at the time. The others still received some level of his anger too, and after Wyatt left, he doesn't really know too much about how his father behaved. Anytime the conversation went towards him, Wyatt would redirect the conversation away. In May 2023, Benjamin went missing which has shaken the family, especially their mother. They have no idea where he has gone but rumors were that he was considering another go at the upcoming mayoral election before his disappearance.

In terms of the siblings, I like to let the player sort of shape the muse as they see fit. I imagine that after Wyatt left, things didn't improve completely but probably got a bit better. I imagine that Benjamin tried to push Liam towards politics and considering running for something in town down the line as well. Scarlett would have been the one who saw the least of their father's best days. Olivia I imagine was their mother's favorite because she took on a caretaker role while their mother tried to handle their father over the years.

"Things change. And friends leave. Life doesn’t stop for anybody."

From day one, Nathan grew up in his twin's shadow. He was always more reserved than his over the top twin; any successes Nathan achieved was constantly overshadowed by Mikael making an even bigger name for himself. If Nathan got a B on an exam, Mikael got an A. If Nate scored a goal on the soccer field, Mikael scored two. No matter what avenue, the twins were in constant competition with one another and Nate rarely seemed able to better his twin. In his youth it was frustrating, watching Mikael get all the attention. But as he grew older he stopped worrying about what Mik was doing and instead focused on himself and what he wanted. It was almost a relief, the year that Mikael skipped a grade forward. At first it was embarrassing, thinking he wasn't good enough to follow suit, but the separation did wonders on establishing who he was on his own. Without the constant comparisons to his brother, Nate was better able to recognize his own successes. He realized he had a passion for science and technology, for learning and understanding how things worked. This discovery lead to his decision to continue exploring those avenues, studying computer science and education when he entered college outside of Greywood. He had a knack for taking care of his younger siblings as he grew up, so it seemed almost natural that he'd step into a role of taking care of children down the line. He met someone his junior year of college, a woman who was also working on a degree to teach sciences. They hit it off right from the start, dating within weeks of their first interaction. The following year they were expecting a child and planning a wedding. A stupid decision ultimately lead to their downfall. He had been out partying, celebrating the approaching end of the semester and upcoming graduation. Nathan and his fiancée had carpooled to the party and was planning to ride home with the same group. The driver insisted that they were perfectly fine to drive and Nate could only assume they were being honest. They climbed into the car and took off late into the night - and not long after an ambulance was racing down the pavement towards the accident scene. Two close friends died that night. Nathan managed to escape with an overnight stay in the hospital, a broken leg, and a concussion, and as a result of the trauma and stress over the incident, his fiancée lost their baby. It was a devastating blow to the couple, but Nathan tried his best to pick up the pieces and start again. His fiancée, on the other hand, seemed to be shutting him out and pushing away. A few weeks after the incident he woke to find her gone without so much as a note. He returned to Greywood shortly after graduation with his tail between his legs, so to speak. Being around his family again was a comfort that he didn't know he needed, and he settled back down to start over once again in the familiarity of home. He got a job teaching chemistry at the local high school and has kept his head down and heart closed off, attempting to let the broken pieces left behind heal up before opening up to someone again.
