thinking about this very hypothetical child of Neptune (who I am definitely not thinking about writing a fic around) and she'll have to be a girl because of the established pattern (if you don't understand, just think about it for a min) and thinking about how she could turn fresh water into salt water with just a touch, and how she'd speak with an almost monotone, until she's really really fucking angry and then the cadence of her voice pitches and twists like the thrashing of the waves, and how her eyes would be almost as dark as Nico's, a dark blue-gray of storm clouds, an always clear threat, and how she'd be able to blend in easily with other people, appearing sweet almost, with a subtle air of danger around her that people ignore until it's too late, and how she'd rip the blood from someone's veins without batting an eye, and how she'd stand behind Percy encouraging him to let go, to give into the violent nature of the ocean in their blood, to cave to the riptide, to stop fighting and let everyone else drown.
If they wanted to reach the surface, maybe they should've swam harder.

Muse to play 'Origin Of Symmetry' in full at Reading And Leeds Festivals
Matt Bellamy tweets the news about 2001 album
March 29, 2011
Muse are planning to play their 'Origin Of Symmetry' album in full at the Reading And Leeds Festivals this summer, according to Matt Bellamy.
The frontman had already stated that the band's headline sets would draw heavily from their 2001 album. He also said that the shows would be the last time some of those songs were played live.
Now he has tweeted that the Devon trio will be playing the 2001 album, their second, from start to finish.
He wrote from Twitter.com/bellamy_matt: "So we'll probably play 'Origin...' in its entirety (as well other songs) at Reading/Leeds as it will be 10 years since it came out."
The Reading And Leeds Festivals take place on August 26–28. Muse headline the Friday night (26) at Leeds and the Sunday night (28) at Reading.
My Chemical Romance, The Strokes and Pulp will also play headline slots.

Muse to play 'Origin...' songs for the 'last time' at Reading And Leeds Festivals
Matt Bellamy and co. talk to NME about headline slots
March 22, 2011
Muse have said they are likely to play some songs from their 'Origin Of Symmetry' album for the "last time" at this year's Reading And Leeds Festivals.
The band were speaking in the new issue of NME (March 23) or available digitally. They are joining My Chemical Romance in headlining the August events, while The Strokes and Pulp will play co-headline slots.
Frontman Matt Bellamy said that the band want to mark the 10-year anniversary of 'Origin Of Symmetry''s release in some way at the shows.
"It's probably the last time some of these songs will ever be played live again," he said of the 2001 album. He explained that the shows would see the band "drawing a line under one phase of our career".
He added: "It was on the second album ['Origin...'] that things really started happening for the band, and when we focused on the live side of things much more. So it'll be like coming full circle: we've gone off on one a little bit, and now it feels like the right time to pull it back and remind ourselves of what we were doing 10 years ago."
The Reading And Leeds Festivals take place on August 26–28. Muse headline the Friday night (26) at Leeds and the Sunday night (28) at Reading.

there’s a way history is flattened when talking about disco and the backlash to it. considering that at the time a lot of venues made a very sudden change from hosting live bands (which has a lot of moving parts and associated costs) to just having a DJ, and many radio stations switched to disco overnight because to chase higher ratings. it’s one thing that this happens once where you live, but if every club and every station change, it is pretty frustrating, and paired with discotechques having strickter door policies, it came across as very commercial and elitist.

I learned so much about Juno (the Roman goddess) from wiki after I sent that ask 😂 I'm honoured that you drew from it
Although nobody knows of her exact origin, Juno is one of the three original Roman gods — Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva.
Early representations of Juno vary, but Roman literature does pretty much regard her as the Queen of Heaven. She was worshipped in the East as the goddess of both love and war, and often closely identified with Astarte, the patron goddess of Carthage. In the West, we'd find two distinct characterizations of her in different places: the lawless war goddess Juno Moneta (Juno Sospita if you’re Lanuvian), deity of soldiers and spears, of warning, advising, instructing — and the Juno of the Capitol, patroness of women, of marriage, of love, and female life (some known surnames are Pronuba, Matrona, Juga, Lucina, Opigena).
Above reference: Hands, A. W. (1910). JUNO MONETA. The Numismatic Chronicle and Journal of the Royal Numismatic Society, 10, 1–12. http://www.jstor.org/stable/42663622
Further explanation and name breakdown:
Juno was known by a number of epithets, each of which showcased a distinct persona of the goddess. For her role in succoring the needy and protecting the city of Rome during war, she was called Juno Sospita, or “Juno the Savior". Juno Curritis/Curitis/Quiritis, or "Juno of the Spearmen," was said to be the only deity worshipped by all thirty curiae (military and political divisions) established by the founder and first Roman king, Romulus. She was also called Juno Moneta, or “Juno the Warner,” for bringing news of danger and preparing the threatened. She was named Juno Regina or “Queen Juno [of gods and men],” for her role as a head of state and member of the Capitoline Triad (with Jupiter and Minerva), but was also called Juno Opigena, or “Juno the Midwife,” for overseeing childbirth. Finally, she was known as Juno Lucina, or “Juno Who Brings Light,” for bringing light, life, and enlightenment to those who worshipped her.

Why history is difficult to know for sure:
After the arrival of Greek culture, the mythology of Roman religion and the identities of its deities became muddled. Stories about the gods, whether Roman or Greek, become intermixed. Juno, despite being closely associated with the Greek deity Hera, was, in her own right, an important god. She was the queen of heaven, the protector of women, the wife (and sister) of the all-powerful Jupiter. She was the mother of the war god Mars. Gradually, however, the entire mythology surrounding the gods — Jupiter, Juno, Neptune and all the rest — disappeared with the emergence of Christianity.
