I’ve liked fighting lynels, ever since besting my first one near Lanayru Gate and with some difficulty and fairies. I was really pleased when I discovered that I could mount them. That is perhaps one of the best parts of the fight.

I’ve finished all the sidequests and shrines in BOTW.  I’ve got like a month before TOTK is released.  In light of this, I’ve decided to let Link run little normal errands all over Hyrule so he has a semblance of normalcy before I forcibly launch him into torment on May 12th.

Trying so hard to not start fic writing before I've even finished the game but I want so so bad to write a time travel fic where post totk wild gets sent back to pre calamity hyrule in the middle of a lynel or gleeok fight, like he's just covered in monster blood and guts with a mishmash of armour pieces (at least one barbarian piece) hair long and tangled, scars all over, wielding a ridiculously huge savage lynel spear tipped with dragon claw and dripping sizzling blood. Smoke coming off him. Arm looking half rotted.

In the middle of the throne room.

Several particularly delicate lords and ladies faint. All the guards are pointing spears. He nearly takes someone's eye out before realising where he is.

Once he realises when he is it becomes a race of time to make the right waves before zelda comes to pick him up.

He knows life as a knight sucked and that's all he needs to know #It's not like zelda wouldn't set something on fire if put in the same position again also. #In all fairness I think he'd try to empathise with rhoam because he's too kind not to but he doesn't have to like him to save his life #Plot points would include sneaking into gerudo town and pre link and him would end up doing the spiderman pointing meme #Rock roast eating challenges #Trying to convince him to sneak out of the castle before dawn. Sharing his sparkliest outfits. Y'know what would be even scarier than a Lynel roaring? A Lynel making a hyena-like laughing sound. Like imagine this:

You're walking around Hyrule Field, then all of the sudden, you hear the unnerving sound of a hyena-like animal laughing. Then you look around for whatever that sound is... then you see it: a Lynel mere meters away from you and ready to kill.

I don’t know about anyone else, but…

I will attempt to avoid lynels unless I have fully stocked up on shields, and weapons, and elixirs. Lynels that I’ve been fighting since botw and know how to beat. And now, playing totk, I actively seek out gleeoks to fight for fun whilst still hating lynels even though I’ve fought them way before fighting gleeoks.

Maybe this is just a me thing but lynels are the bane of my existence no matter how many times I’ve successfully killed them.

(Still do occasionally go on lynel killing sprees though. Live laugh hate those things <3)
