He’s staring at a window, utterly transfixed, when she comes across him in her burrow.

“Ah,” Bunnyx says, smiling softly as the scene Monarch is watching comes into view. “I thought you might be drawn to that one. It’s one of my favorites, too.”

Monarch’s chin tilts in her direction, but his gaze never leaves the vision of Betterfly striding through the atelier to greet a seemingly healthy, happy Nathalie. “Why?”

There’s a baby in her arms.

“It gives me hope.”

“It shouldn’t,” Monarch says, voice thick with an emotion he’s trying very hard not to think about as he watches Betterfly tuck an errant strand of hair that had fallen out of Nathalie’s ponytail behind her ear. “That’s not me. That’s not my Nathalie.”

The baby squirms, effectively capturing her parent’s attention.

Bunnyx frowns. “How do you know they’re not?”

Betterfly coos something at the baby and sweeps his thumb along her perfect little cheek. Her bright, steely blue eyes widen.

“They can’t be.”

“Maybe,” Bunnyx suggests with a nod to the window, “you should take a closer look.”

And despite his reluctance to do anything suggested by one of the heroes, Monarch does. He takes a small step forward, gaze darting from one little detail he hadn’t originally noticed to the next - a familiar set of crutches in the corner of the room, the charcoal portrait of a sleeping Nathalie he’d sketched sitting framed on his desk. But it’s the differences he sees in Betterfly’s costume that truly give him pause.

It’s sharper than he remembers it being, the cut and color more reminiscent of Hawk Moth’s darker style than what he associates with Betterfly. The mask and hair are different, too. Silver, like his cowl had been, and slicked back.

“This is a very real future for you, Gabriel Agreste.”

Monarch sucks in a deep breath as the hero in the window leans down to place a gentle kiss on the baby’s forehead.

“You will play a pivotal role in the war to come,” Bunnyx continues softly. “You just need to make the right choice.”

As far as a pregnancy fic goes I don't think I've any planned but in case you've missed any related fics:

Chapter 58 of Snippets is a scene from Nathalie's pregancy

Chapters 3 to 6 of dans les épeuves are those that focus on Nathalie's pregancy and their baby in that fic although there's more parts in flashback later.

Shut Away is Nathalie telling an imprisoned Gabriel about the baby he didn't know they had.

My current work-in-progress The Adventures of Kitten Noir and Baby Bug has Gabriel and Nathalie with a deaged to baby Adrien, and Gabriel having a lot of feelings about seeing Nathalie with his son.

Another World and it's expansion Other Worlds feature Gabenath children though I don't think we see them as a babies in either (toddlers yes.)

Second Choice/Second Chance, Unfortunate(?) Discoveries, and much-needed discussion all feature Gabenath kids though that's not the focus.

I think that's it but it's not impossible I've forgotten something 😅

“you made me a father again”

It’s not there when she tells him. Nor when she gives him the first sonogram.

Nathalie looks for his anger relentlessly. She holds his face tenderly and looks behind his eyes, deep, deep into his skull. She follows the flowing of his blood, studies the flushes of his skin, and holds him so fiercely her touch reaches his bone. She listens to his heartbeat and the quiet vibrations of his breaths, and they all tell her he’s at peace.

At peace with having their world turned upside down. At peace with Nathalie ruining their safe little bubble with a high-risk pregnancy neither of them wished for.

Yet, for all his proofs, Nathalie doesn’t bargain.

Gabriel’s resentment is a sleeping lion, and she’d be a fool not to expect it to wake. All she has to do is close her eyes, and she sees it, clear as any nightmare.

But ponderings don’t stop time. Days bleed into weeks, weeks become months, and the months make her belly grow. She’s off-balance, and Gabriel’s taken to holding her with his hands on her abdomen.

And then she is giving birth, and it’s so unlikely, yet apparent, and he’s there, and not leaving, and Nathalie finally gives in to the hope nestling in her chest.

She trusts him completely when Gabriel first holds their child, who's she and him, but without any of their faults. An indescribable miracle.

When the baby sleeps and Nathalie’s recovering from the overwhelming love ignited in her, he sits on her bed. They don’t have any words. Words are rough, and inadequate, and imperfect compared to the reality of their child sleeping only a meter away.

He scoots closer, and Nathalie reaches for him. Touches still carry truth. Gabriel leans in. It’s warm, this closeness, so warm and comfortable, Nathalie almost doesn’t notice his shaking.

Behind her eyelids, she sees a lion walking toward her.

She tightens her hold on him, bringing him closer, closer. He gasps. His tears become a wetness against her collarbone. Then he chokes something out, and Nathalie knows she found it. She’s looking the lion in the eye.

It’s not as appalling as she feared, and it’s not anger.

Gabriel clings to her like he’s afraid. Her fingers run down his scalp. 

The lion turns around, and Nathalie can’t think of anything other than I love you, I love you, I love you.

First thoughts on Passion (s5 ep 7)

Gabenath are basically a divorced couple trying to act friendly for their child and I love it.

Also Gabriel stop guiltripping her, it's your fault Adrien is gonna be alone.

Adrien is just so in love 'should I buy her a ring ? No that'd be a bit much.' And then he goes to Nathalie about it, gods.

So Nathalie is going back to Gabriel for Adrien's sake huh. That's about what I expected.

So they're setting up for Kwami's choice : Plagg is already scared of the outcome of Adrienette loving each other. Tikki seems pretty chill about, which is fair given Marinette's track record of confessing.

Okay so Nathalie uses multiple powers 👀 That's pretty cool.

Her power's are tracking based that's interesting

Marinette is it really the right moment to ask him to the movies 😂

Adrien doesn't detransform on purpose, I didn't expect that !

Adrien really could use a wish to fix at least one problem in his life that's for sure. Poor baby

I do love that Marinette is still idolizing Gabe. Poor baby is in for a nasty surprise.

And here we see the reason why Chloé is the way she is, the second worst character in the entire show (after Lila). Like, sure Gabriel is the villain, but he's a sympathetic villain. Those two are just cunts for no observable reason.

I love Nathalie over there ub the background just looking around for Marinette. (And also how Tikki immediatelly goes vzoom, right into the pigtails).

Fucking hell, Gabe knows this woman so well... and he probably fucking loathes her, just based on the way she talks about him.

Also, I have not yet seen anything past season 3 (or any of the specials), this is the point of this rewatch, but the way he talks really makes it sound like Emilie wanted that. Like she wanted him to go the villain route when the Miraculous killed her. Like the plan always was "if everything else fails, do terrorism". And I honestly think it would have been a much more interesting route to go down.

do you ever think about emilie ever meeting a gabenath baby and nathalie just being like Absolutely Not

*snort* only, like, forty times a day

but seriously, gabenath babies meeting emilie is one of my go-to daydreams when i just feel like zoning out. and there are lots of variations

like the one where gabriel and nathalie were having an affair and he leaves emilie for nathalie when he finds out she's pregnant, and then we jump to nathalie going into labor while stuck in an elevator with emilie who has to deliver this baby while gabriel and adrien panic half a floor up and the fire department tries to rescue them. love this one though, because emilie becomes this child's godmother/favorite wine!aunt and the two are inseparable (so not an Absolutely Not ending, but an Absolutely Not everything leading up to it)

or the one where nathalie is pregnant with baby #2 and, after a few years of pretty decent health, the effects of the peacock miraculous start to reemerge. it gets bad enough that gabriel becomes desperate and goes to the heroes for help, and winds up negotiating with them to help nathalie AND emilie. they do. and while nathalie is on bedrest, emilie starts trying to insert herself back into gabriel's life. then one night after he takes her to some big event she kisses him outside her bedroom door and, naturally, nathalie sees it happen. anyway. gabriel tells emilie in no uncertain terms that he's not interested anymore and goes to drink himself into a guilty stupor down in the atelier, but when he doesn't come to bed nathalie assumes he stayed the night with emilie so she takes child #1 and goes to a hotel. insert lots of drama, lots of gabriel groveling, and emilie moving to london in the end

or the one where emilie has the rabbit miraculous and winds up in a future where gabriel and nathalie are together with a baby on the way

or the OTHER one where gabriel and nathalie are having an affair and nathalie gets pregnant and emilie somehow forces gabriel to fire/cut ties with her. and this happens:

"Excuse me," Penny says as the pulls the vibrating phone off the table. "You know how it is with - Oh! Jagged, look. Nathalie had her baby."

Immediately, Gabriel tenses. "But she's not due until the end of the month. Is everything... They're okay, right?"

followed by:

"She's so cute," Jagged coos, grinning, at the photo of the small screen. "Squishy. Quite long, too. But Nathalie isn't all that short, is she?" He looks up and Gabriel swears the other man can see into his soul. "Do you think the father is tall?"
