Ganon holds a bow straight while Link holds it at an angle.
Ganon also draws the bow like a samurai, (since this Ganon is more samurai like) he positions/aim the bow then draws.
(Not shown here) Even if Link uses a long bow like Ganon he will still aim at an angle since he is a soldier. He positions/aim the bow and draws at the same time.
The bow Ganon uses will recoil meaning this is a heavy bow. (They didnt need to add that detail in, but they did man)
Link is totally sleep-deprived on his Tears of the Kingdom quest.
He NEVER rests. But despite all his efforts, it is inevitable: Link collapses and sleep wins over him... and when that happens, Link has the most vile and repulsive nightmares!! Puppet Zelda and her cruelty is always there, ready to mock and torture him.
PS. Nintendo could've gone waaaaaaaay worse with Puppet Zelda if you ask me
PS 2 If you are wondering, yeah, this is a shameless homage to that iconic Evil Dead 2 scene. Groovy! 😊
User @immortalthings made a good post about the Gloom Hands being the manifestation of Link's nightmares about losing his arm, which is an amazing theory and one I wish was canon, but I think for it to really work would require some adjustments and for the hands to look a little bit Different™
Anyway, something something crushing weight of guilt, something something Link's post-traumatic stress manifesting, please give my poor boy a break Nintendo he deserves it.
After years spent investigating the mysterious shrines of East Necula, Dr. Calip has joined the Zonai Survey Team’s efforts to study the Ring Ruins of Kakariko Village. The ancient structures are fascinating, but what has captured Calip’s attention is the chasm in the forest on the hill. While Calip has been gazing into the abyss, however, the leader of the Zonai Survey Team has been gazing at him.

every time I see someone go "oh gloom spawn isn't that scary compared to guardians, they're good but they're not as good as-" dude have you played the game.
have you felt the raw fear of seeing the world turn red and the music go apeshit while you struggle to fight these bitches for the first time. have you experienced the paranoia of thinking gloom is moving besides you, only to turn around and see nothing. have you beaten the spawn for the first time, only to be fucking betrayed by the game and have to fight phantom ganon. have you fought this ghost of a man and feared for your fucking life as it advanced slowly, so completely sure of his ability he didn't feel the need to attack fast. have you climbed high and watched the hands slowly disappear, only to fear they'd reappear anytime now because you didn't kill them. what the fuck do you MEAN gloom spawn isn't as scary as guardians
I was looking for a good screenshot of gloom spawn to show a friend who hasn't played totk, and I noticed something I never got close enough to see before (because if there's a gloom spawn I am up a tree a mile away firing bomb arrows before you can say 'complete the compendium')
Spoilers ahead.
This screenshot is from Nintendo via Polygon (source), so I assume it hasn't been edited.
The hands are wearing rings.
The rings look like the rings on Link's borrowed hand. They do NOT look like the rings Ganon is wearing - his are on the index and middle fingers only.
TOTK has a pretty heavy emphasis on hands. There's Rauru's hand, of course, but also the very near miss of Link grabbing for Zelda at the beginning of the game (using his decayed hand specifically), which is finally rectified at the end when he IS able to grab her as she falls.
Consider also the obvious connotations of depression associated with gloom sickness.
I had been assuming that gloom spawn were extensions of Ganon, especially given Phantom Ganon, but this makes me think that perhaps the gloom spawn are supposed to be a representation of Link's fears and general state of mind - of his own hands betraying him when it mattered most.
This piece was very much an experiment on my end! I'm really glad with how it turned out though, and the lines were so much fun to do!
I've been wanting to draw something TOTK related since I got the game and I've finally gotten around to doing it! This is heavily inspired by pieces of art I've seen of "Gloom Link", which I heavily recommend you look into if you haven't already, it's a really cool concept.
TOTK theory: where are the gloom spawns in the depths?
i spent a lot of early game expecting to be ambushed by gloom spawns in the depths, only to find my encounters extremely sparse compared to the surface. you would think the gloom-ridden hellscape would be full of gloom spawn locations, but according to zelda dungeon, while the surface has over 30, the depths have only 7.
there will be talk of the final boss, so spoiler warning below
3 are found directly underneath the hebra, eldin, and gerudo dark skeletons.
so what are they doing here? it’s pretty much agreed amongst fans from the shape and size that the dark skeletons were dragons.
so being immortal doesn’t mean they’re unkillable. which also begs the question of what out there is strong enough to kill a dragon. the gloom hands scavenging its remains might have something to do with it.
dragon killer or scavenger, consuming the vitality of an immortal dragon would explain where ganon got the energy to rehydrate himself in the final battle.
Since @l3ominor won't give y'all @recalled11 horrors yet, I'll share mine and make myself call it done.
Cannot confirm or deny if this will happen in the comic, but I was feeling mean bc of job stress, so someone's gotta suffer and Recalled boys won?/lost? the draw.
Recalled Legend & Ravio with a bit of a Gloom Hands problem....
