When I read his WordPress blog posts, I couldn’t believe it! He was using incredibly manipulative and abusive language that would point out that he was a predator. He clearly has zero brains when it comes to being a “public figure”, so maybe this is for the best—he should get offline FOREVER.

The fact that he thought it was fine and dandy to talk SEXUALLY to a 16-17 year old is BEYOND ME! After all of his contraversies, I’m surprised if anyone continues to play this game on YouTube..! Just thinking about what YanDev has done makes my BLOOD BOIL..! He took advantage of a MINOR and GAVE PERMISSION TO THE MINOR TO SEND HIM EXPLICIT PICTURES AND “KEEP IT A SECRET”.

You all supporting him are FUCKING STUPID!

I understand that the game was something he’s known for, but I also wish people would pay more attention to the victims of YandereDev rather than his sexual depictions of fictional schoolgirls that don’t exist. WHERE HAS THE VICTIM GONE?

All I see is people blaming others for enjoying a game about a yandere character (a COMMON anime trope) and how “the characters are in high school.”

Where did the VICTIM go???? Did you all FORGET??? You seem to give more shits about the “development” of his game rather than how horribly he has treated this girl who he is years ahead of!! Before you open your mouth about this situation, give condolences to the victim and support them.

I don’t care how you view fictional media, but—in situations like this—it is INCREDIBLY INAPPROPRIATE to discuss! It takes attention away from what happened! People just think “Oh shit, another YandereDev controversy” rather than “Oh shit, YandereDev GROOMED SOMEONE????!!!”

my stance on what has happened. im still catching up on everything. trigger warning for sexual assault, grooming, and paedophilia.

i don't know how to take this. my heart is just in the bottom of my chest. dream helped me trough probably the hardest time of my life. he's saved my life more than twice. but i believe all victims. i don't know much about the situation, but i will believe her until dream somehow manages to find evidence that this isn't true. goddammit, im crying, why can't it be so easy for men not to be predators. i loved him. i loved the smp. i wanna forget about him forever. i wish i could go to a universe where this never happened. not only for my sake, but for hers. i still love the smp. im gonna watch stuff around it, just not him. i hate everything so much right now. i wish i didn't wake up today.

This is a formal goodbye to this blog.

It was a nice run, it really was, and I’ve made so many friends as a result! I’ve laughed with many, created things with others, and overall had a blast. 

However, due to personal reasons, I’m not going to be on this account for any longer. I will be creating a new account, though I will not link it here because I do not want to keep getting attacked nor do I want to keep running due to someone making false claims about me and those close to me. I appreciate everyone who followed me, read my works, and were there since the beginning. I appreciate every single one of you and I hope everyone has a good life.

working on a project for my research methods class about grooming and child abuse/exploitation via the internet while all this is going down is just so fucking crazy bc it’s like. hm. reading a UNICEF report about how there were 21 million instances of CSEM reported in 2021 alone. most of which are images/videos of children under 10. okay. this is fucked up. the WHO did a report and found that roughly 1 in 20 american adults were victims of grooming while they were underage. this is a real serious problem. and then i check twitter and people are calling dream a literal actual pedophile for texting a 17 year old a few weeks before her birthday. with no proof of anything sexual happening. and they’re calling for his immediate arrest over this. like i feel like im living in backwards land i dont even know anymore man

Honestly, what revolted me about the reaction to The Dream Situation was not only the people who defended him and picked holes in the victim's story (disappointing, but not surprising; those types of people always come out of the woodworks during these controversies), but those who celebrated now having a "valid reason to dislike him" while showing zero compassion for the victim and other former fans who felt very understandably betrayed.

As if your favorite online punching bag having done this Genuinely Awful Thing retroactively justified the disproportionate and frequently discriminatory harassment faced by the community; as if the parasociality that allows misbehavior like this is not fueled by that very same harassment; as if Amanda herself was not a Dream fan, one of the same people you would have happily mocked only days before her story broke; as if you were sincerely motivated by "seeking justice" for a thing you couldn't have known was happening.

Did your behavior make anyone safer? Did it prevent this celebrity from mishandling his platform and taking advantage of someone who admired him? What, exactly, have you done since to make sure no one will be hurt like this again?
