The boat had been docked at the wilting and barren edge of the fourth finger for some time, the somewhat plucky Scrybe of the Dead having permitted her to stay for a while as she made her ship sea-worthy for the winter. She was very late, she should’ve done this months ago but she was busy with the Sommarcrest gathering, now she was in a tussle to work this out before the fated solstice.

Perking up slightly as she heard a voice, Haya’s ear flicked softly to the side before she sat up and emerged from underneath the players table with a head cocked to the side slightly. She looked so much like her mothers-… it wasn’t hard to identify her at all, to which Haya smiled kindly before chuckling and allowing her tail to swish silently around the both of them.

“Hello to you as well, little one.”

Haya chimed with a sort of rumble in her throat as she brushed away the several tiny mushroom beings puttering around at their feet as she gingerly collected the basket from the child.

“I do decorate, I celebrate Yuletide. Usually this is a bit more… extravagant. Have a simmer pot of cinnamon, perhaps the peals of a fresh cut orange. That and the light of the candles from my altar on the back counter, but I’m afraid I’ve had little time to manage it this year. I did manage to pry my pine garland from my husband though, so that will probably decorate the sides by the time I set off again. Next year, when Kirsi is old enough to leave with me to the Aisles, I’ll teach her to make diamonds with her hands and coal.”

The eyeless beast turned to the counter to gesture loosely to her altar before baking her wings out just slightly as she stretched her back. Turning back to let her sigils focus on the small child before her, the mushrooms beginning to climb her clothing-… she smiled again before offering an extended hand.

Welcome to the latest installment in my ongoing series on crafting realistic wounds in fiction! After covering stab wounds and burns, it's time to explore the next wound category frequently explored in fiction—gunshot wounds. 

Gunshot wounds are a recurring motif in the realm of storytelling. They're something you can easily come across in every genre, however, authors often poorly portray gunshot wounds due to lack of proper research. I understand finding the right resources to aid with your writing can be hard, so here's my comprehensive guide on how to write gunshot wounds. 

How To Categorise Gunshot Wounds

There are certain factors you need to consider before writing a gunshot wound. These details are instrumental in crafting a vivid and plausible narrative while avoiding plot holes. The first and most important one is identifying the type of firearm used to inflict the wound. 

Picking The Right Firearm 

Selecting the appropriate firearm to inflict a gunshot wound is a pivotal decision. It's not just about choosing any gun; it's about picking the right one to align with your desired outcome and the narrative's overall impact. Here's a quick guide on how to pick the right firearm.  

The Impact of Firearm Selection

The firearm you choose can significantly influence the severity and appearance of the gunshot wound. Whether your goal is a graphic, gory injury or a precise, long-range shot, the choice of firearm plays a crucial role. Here are some guns you to consider:

Handguns: These are versatile and commonly used in close-quarters combat. They can result in gruesome, close-contact wounds with a higher potential for damage due to their stopping power.

Shotguns: Shotguns disperse shot pellets upon firing, making them suitable for creating a broader pattern of injuries. If you aim to depict a devastating, close-range gunshot wound, shotguns can be a fitting choice.

Rifles: Rifles are known for their accuracy at longer distances. When you need a precise, long-range shot, rifles are the go-to option. They tend to produce a cleaner wound channel, especially when used for a targeted, well-planned injury.

Choosing the Right Firearm for Your Narrative

The type of firearm you select should align with your story's objectives. If you intend to evoke visceral, gory reactions, opt for handguns or shotguns used in close proximity. On the other hand, if precision and long-range engagement are key, rifles can achieve your desired outcome.

Keep in mind that firearm selection can affect the wound's damage, trajectory, and overall portrayal in your narrative. 

Categorising The Wound 

Once you've identified the type of firearm, you need to establish what type of wound your character will incur. 

In order to bring your character's injuries to life, it's important to first identify what you're dealing with. You can do this by categorising the injury based on several factors. For gunshot wounds, this includes the type of firearm used, the bullet's trajectory, and the specific areas of the body affected.

You can categorise your character's gunshot would into seven main categories, here's a quick breakdown of what these categories look like and the level of severity associated with them: 

Penetrating Gunshot Wounds: These wounds occur when a bullet enters the body but doesn't exit. The bullet remains inside the body, causing damage along its path.

Perforating Gunshot Wounds: In this case, the bullet enters the body and exits on the opposite side. This type of wound can have a different set of implications due to the bullet's trajectory.

Ricochet Gunshot Wounds: Ricochet wounds happen when the bullet bounces off a surface before hitting the character. The nature of the surface can influence the severity of the wound.

Through-and-Through Gunshot Wounds: As the name suggests, these wounds occur when the bullet enters one side of the body and exits through the other. The trajectory can greatly affect the injury's severity.

Close-Contact Gunshot Wounds: These wounds result from the firearm being fired at extremely close range. The proximity of the gun to the body can lead to unique wound patterns and burn injuries.

Shotgun Wounds: Shotgun wounds differ from those caused by handguns or rifles. The shot pellets disperse upon firing, leading to a broader pattern of injury.

Long-Range Gunshot Wounds: When a character is shot from a considerable distance, the wound might appear different due to factors like bullet tumbling and loss of velocity.

The Anatomy of a Gunshot Wound

To create a vivid portrayal of a gunshot wound, writers need to grasp not only the external appearance but also the internal effects it has on the body. A well-executed description captures both the physical trauma and the emotional turmoil experienced by the character. Here are some symptoms you should take into consideration.

1. External Appearance and Bleeding:

Wound Size: The size of a gunshot wound can vary significantly based on the type of firearm and bullet used. Smaller calibers may leave entry and exit wounds that are relatively small, while larger bullets or high-velocity rounds can create much larger wounds. Be specific about the size, which can help readers visualize the injury.

Blood Loss: Gunshot wounds typically result in bleeding. The severity of bleeding depends on factors like the wound's location, the size of the blood vessels damaged, and the bullet's trajectory. Mention the amount of blood, but avoid excessive gore unless it serves a specific purpose in your narrative.

Coughing Up Blood: If the gunshot wound affects the chest or lung area, characters may cough up blood. This symptom often signifies a more critical injury and can add drama to your story.

2. Internal Damage and Symptoms:

Pain: Gunshot wounds are painful, and the character should express this pain through their actions, dialogue, and internal thoughts. Describe the sharp, burning, or throbbing sensations as they resonate through the character's body.

Shock: Depending on the severity of the wound, shock can set in. The character may appear pale, sweaty, and disoriented. This state of shock can impact their actions and decisions.

Loss of Function: A gunshot wound may impair the use of the injured body part. Describe any loss of function, such as the inability to move a limb or use it effectively.

Fainting: In extreme cases, characters may faint due to the pain, blood loss, or shock. Be sure to contextualize this within the narrative, as fainting can have significant consequences for the character.

By diving into the details of a gunshot wound's anatomy, you can craft a compelling and realistic portrayal that draws readers into the character's harrowing experience. I haven't exactly covered every symptom out there, but these are the major ones you should take into account when writing. 

Medical Assessment and Treatment

Once you've established your gunshot wound, it's now time to focus on the aftermath. One of the main factors to consider is the medical process that follows. If your character is supposed to die from the gunshot then you could probably skip this section, but if they're alive here are things you need to consider. 

1. Initial Assessment:

Scene Safety: In a real-life scenario, safety is paramount. First responders will ensure the scene is secure before approaching the injured person. Consider factors like the presence of firearms, potential threats, and the safety of medical personnel.

ABCs of Assessment: Medical professionals follow the ABCs—Airway, Breathing, and Circulation. Writers can reflect this in their storytelling by highlighting the character's ability to breathe, cough, or speak after being shot.

For example, you need to consider whether or not this injury is something normal for them. Do they work as a spy, assassin, or other such roles that would mandate such dangerous injuries? You also need to consider who shot them. Does this wound come with emotional damage as well? Think of Aaron Warner’s reaction to Juliet shooting him. 

If you’re sure your character will have some extent of a psychological impact, here are some factors you should consider. 

1. Shock and Denial:

Immediate Response: Characters who have been shot may initially experience shock and denial. This can manifest as disbelief, emotional numbness, or a surreal sense of detachment from the situation.

Physical Symptoms: Shock can lead to physical symptoms like trembling, chills, or even fainting. Incorporating these details can make the character's reaction more genuine.

2. Fear and Anxiety:

Survivor's Guilt: Characters may grapple with survivor's guilt if they are the only ones to emerge unscathed in a violent encounter.

Anxiety: The threat of recurrence or the fear of returning to the location where the shooting occurred can trigger anxiety and panic attacks.

3. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD):

Flashbacks and Nightmares: Characters who have survived a gunshot wound may experience recurring flashbacks and nightmares, vividly reliving the traumatic event.

Hypervigilance: PTSD can lead to hypervigilance, where characters are constantly on edge, expecting danger at every turn.

4. Depression and Isolation:

Haya hated having to ask for help, but the particular card she had been attempting to inscrybe-… the wishing star, was unfortunately unable to be crafted on her own. The stars was of another domain, one that Haya previously had little connection to and hardly realized it existed. She had spent so much time isolated at sea that speaking to others wasn’t something she was used to, nor good at. With that in mind, rapping her fist against a small door to what appeared to be an observatory, she would remind herself of the basics of etiquette.

Smile, shake their hand, introduce yourself; Pray that your manny eyes, and missing eyes, didn’t scare them into thinking you were a monster too. This was necessary for her deck to be completed, she reminded herself as she ran a hand through her hair quietly, a sigh escaping her lips as she stretched her wings. She’s sure this ‘Sidra’ would understand-… probably, maybe.

“Hello? Is anyone there?”

Inside the observatory, there stood the main inhabitant of the building, who was immersed with their telescope. They observed the sky through it, and while it was only dusk, it seemed they were quite eager for what was to come. That night, there was meant to be a great shower of shooting stars-- the perfect opportunity to create more cards for their deck.

Of course, in due time, as the Scrybe of Stars realized. She set down their tool for inscrybing the stars and stepped back to take a break, letting a small huff as they did so. It'd still be some time before she could get anything done. In the meantime, perhaps they could organize their things, make sure that none of her champions had gotten their needed jobs done for the day. (It didn't really matter though, since they were pretty responsible and she could trust them with all of their heart.

Wait a minute-...does that sound like... knocking? Is someone here?

Right off the bat, her entire body swerved to face the entrance to their observatory, where a disembodied voice could be heard on the other side. Someone was here! Instantly, their iconic smile grew on their face, and in no time, they were racing down the steps of the observatory to reach the main floor, speeding past the multiple shelves of old wares she had collected and the plants that grew all over the place.

Once they were nearing their front doors, they dusted down their garments and gingerly opened one of them. Their head peaked out for a second, observing their guest, before opening the door entirely to her, their partially obscured face gleaming nonetheless.

"Ah, why hello there! I do hope that the journey up here was a hassle! Might I ask what brought you here, today?"

Their head tilted to one of their shoulders in curiosity as they waited for a response. Their tone, while friendly at it's core, also felt a little rusty-- as though they weren't quite used to talking with others much either. To be fair though, that was the case. Not many were eager to trek the entire way up to the observatory, so there weren't too many guests at a time. To see someone new though, it felt refreshing to them.

Donation scams on tumblr are extremely common and anyone who has a tumblr account will encounter them at some point. You have likely encountered them before and not realized it. They throw together a brand new blog with a story of needing aid, then use bots to go through follow lists and post notes to send messages to random users. Scambusting blogs like kyra45 do a lot of work to track and call out these scams when they surface.

Scam Spotting Tips

They send an ask often accompanied with a follow despite having never interacted with you before. Ask yourself: How did you find your blog? These interactions usually come out of nowhere when you have no original posts or interests they could've found you through, because they're just going down the lists of random blogs.

They reblog just enough posts to make you think that their blog is in-use when it is actually only a day or a few old. Enable timestamps and try find the blog's oldest post; if a blog seems old but still seems suspicious, be wary of post backdating

They often disable or delete comments on their donation post to hide comments that call them out. Open the notes and see if it says "some replies have been hidden, blocked or removed." Blocked/hidden comments sometimes still appear in reblogs of a post but not the original, so open a random reblog and see if telling comments appear there.

It isn't unusual for the story and the ask to either be exact copy-pastes of each other, or otherwise have very telling suspicious details, such as: using different names, having different goal amounts, contrasting story details, etc. Pay attention to and trust the suspicion of details that stand out as odd.

Like many of the above examples, they often use an automatically generated username consisting of random words

Reverse image searching can be a helpful giveaway if it works, but don't trust it entirely - scammers often steal images from private Facebook groups/profiles or alter the images so that people don't find the source. An image not having a source should also be suspicious, as you should wonder why this person's social media presence is exclusively a 3 day old tumblr blog

When you receive an ask from a blog like this, reporting them for spam or phishing and reporting the PayPal account for fraudulent activity does help get these accounts taken down.

Estamos haciendo algunos cambios en la página de actividad de la versión web: el primero es que, a partir de ahora, te mostraremos los avisos que no hayas leído destacados en azul, además de añadir etiquetas de varios colores para que sepas cuándo una interacción o actividad proceden de alguien a quien conoces o con quien te sigues.

¿Por qué hemos hecho estos cambios?

Hasta ahora, algunos elementos de la página de actividad aparecían destacados y otros no. Lo que quizás no supieras es el motivo por el que se mostraban así. ¡Y no eres la única persona que se hacía esa pregunta!

Antes, el color azul claro indicaba que la notificación procedía de un blog al que seguías. Obvio, ¿verdad? ¡Pues es evidente que no lo era! Hay ciertos patrones de diseño que se han convertido en el estándar en la mayoría de las plataformas que, al asociarlos a indicadores concretos, hacen que nos acostumbremos a que signifiquen algo muy específico. Destacar las notificaciones en color azul suele implicar que todavía no se han visto o leído. Por eso, hemos decidido seguir esa misma lógica en nuestra interfaz.

¿Y cómo podré distinguir a partir de ahora qué notificaciones proceden de blogs a los que sigo?

¡Nos alegra que te hagas esa pregunta! Hemos añadido varias etiquetas de colores para que te resulte más fácil identificar las de los blogs que sigues o con los que te sigues mutuamente.

Un antes y un después en la interfaz

Antes, el color azul se usaba para indicar que la actividad procedía de una persona a la que seguías.

Ahora, marca qué avisos no has leído todavía.

Además, hemos añadido algunas etiquetas para que sepas si sigues el blog del que procede la interacción o si os seguís mutuamente.

Algunas aclaraciones

La etiqueta «Os seguís» indica que, además de seguir ese blog, este también te sigue a ti. Solo se aplica a los blogs principales, no a los secundarios, si es que tienes más de uno.

De momento, hemos incluido este cambio en la versión web y estamos haciendo pruebas en algunas cuentas. Pronto estará disponible también en las aplicaciones para dispositivos móviles.

Para que cualquier notificación que aparezca como no leída se actualice, solo tienes que consultar el apartado de actividad (puedes hacerlo tanto desde el menú emergente que se abre al hacer clic sobre el icono del relámpago como al entrar en la página de actividad con la opción «Ver todo»). ¡No hace falta que hagas nada más!

—juani no me puedo creer lo que acaba de salir de tu boca. retira tus palabras o me voy ahora mismo. 

el rubio soltó una carcajada y miró a su alrededor. —¿a dónde piensas irte? estamos en la sección de patatas fritas de un supermercado. 

la joven lo miró completamente seria. él se encogió de hombros. —esta vez has tenido suerte, pero a la próxima no me vuelves a ver. 

lara cogió una bolsa de campesinas y comenzó a caminar hacia la caja, siendo perseguida por su amigo. 

—vamos lai, eres una dramática. no puedes ponerte así solo porque te haya dicho que gabriella no me cae mal —ella lo miró de reojo, estaba con una sonrisa pintada en la cara. se estaba tomando a broma todo su numerito. grave error —. además, te escuchas todas las canciones que tiene… un poco hipócrita por tu parte, si me lo preguntas.

—genial, porque no te he preguntado nada. 

llegaron a la caja y callaron su discusión. la cajera los miró curiosa mientras pasaba las patatas. 

—son 2 euros, por favor. 

por primera vez, lara miró directamente a juani, haciéndole un gesto con la cabeza. 

—ah, ¿encima tengo que pagar yo?  

—yo pongo la casa, es lo mínimo que puedes hacer.

el joven bufó y le tendió el dinero a la mujer, quien lo aceptó observando la situación bizarra que esos dos jóvenes se traían. lara cogió la bolsa y ambos salieron del supermercado tras despedirse. 

juani la seguía de cerca. les quedaban unos quince minutos de camino hasta la casa de la chica, y no le hacía demasiada ilusión pasarlos en silencio. fue a entrelazar sus brazos cuando la chica se giró de repente hacia él, haciendo que abandonara su idea.

—es que no lo entiendo. ¿qué clase de fan de highschool musical eres si te gusta gabriella? estás fallando a un fandom entero. y a mí, sobre todo a mí. 

—si te digo que era una broma, ¿queda todo arreglado? —el chico le puso un puchero al que lara ya no pudo responder con su molestia fingida. 

—por supuesto que no, estaba dramatizando por dramatizar. no me importa que te caiga bien, pero tienes que admitir que es insoportable y tóxica. 

—bueno, un poco sí, pero lo compensa con los temazos que canta. 

la chica rio, en eso no podía llevarle la contraria. como si hubiera leído la mente de su amigo, entrelazó sus brazos. balanceaba la bolsa del mercado mientras tarareaba una melodía inventada, con el vaho acompañando la escena. era un invierno más frío de lo que estaban acostumbrados, de esos que te ponen las orejas rojas y hacen que te resfries en un suspiro. juani odiaba el frío, pero a lara le quedaba genial; las hojas secas combinaban con sus ojos y las noches invernales iluminaban su piel. 

el rubio admiró el perfil de su amiga, siendo lo más discreto que pudo. rebuscó en su riñonera y sacó la cámara digital que siempre le acompañaba y que había sido objeto de burla de lara por el color tan feo que tenía. con un poco de esfuerzo, juani consiguió fotografiar la belleza de su amiga.

la chica no tardó en darse cuenta y posó para una siguiente foto, mostrando toda su hilera de dientes en una gran sonrisa.

—deberíamos hacer un canal para subir blogs. nos haríamos muy famosos, estoy segura. 

—creo que nos verían solo por ti —juani dirigió su vista al suelo, a las hojas pisoteadas.

—¿por qué dices eso? somos un pack. además, tú eres el talentoso de los dos, además del gracioso, por supuesto. yo estoy de relleno para decir estupideces —la chica le dio un leve empujón, esperando una respuesta positiva, cosa que consiguió al ver que la seriedad se iba de la cara de su amigo.

—gracias. te aprecio mucho, lai.

lara le regaló un beso tierno en la mejilla. no era nada del otro mundo que se vieran tan cariñosos el uno con el otro, eran amigos desde los últimos años de instituto y con el pasar del tiempo el afecto que se tenían solo crecía. lara había estado en cada momento en el que juani se había sentido menos, uno más del montón, alguien que no podría cumplir nunca sus sueños; en todas las ocasiones siempre consiguió darle el apoyo para que siguiera intentando. y cada vez estaba más cerca de conseguirlo, ya que hacía pocos días se había presentado a un casting para una gran película. aún sí, de algún modo u otro, el pesimismo se le escapaba de vez en cuando, como en momentos como aquellos. y lara seguiría estando para él.

—¡eh, parejita! ¿os interesaría comprar una pulsera que os recuerde vuestro amor? 

ambos pararon en seco ante el puestecito de madera en el que una mujer les enseñaba pulseras de colores a lo lejos. juani abrió los ojos sorprendido, algo acalorado.

—no, nosotros no… —el chico fue interrumpido por lara, quien comenzó a tirar de él para acercarse al puesto.

—¡por supuesto! vamos juani.

lara comenzó a observar cada uno de los modelos que la mujer tenía para ofrecer. tenía desde pulseras de plata con iniciales grabadas hasta pulseras simples, de todos los colores posibles.

juani, por su parte, no sabía dónde meterse. solo pensar que podría tener una pulsera con una "l" tallada le removía un sentimiento que quería tener lo más oculto posible. 

—mira, es del mismo celeste que tus ojos —la joven llevó dicha pulsera a la altura de los ojos del otro, confirmando que eran iguales—. decidido. me llevo esta, por favor.

juani vio como pagaba por ella, ensimismado. bajó la vista de nuevo a las pulseras, encontrándose de frente con una que también combinaba con los ojos verdes de su amiga. no lo pensó dos veces y la cogió, bajo la atenta mirada de lara. 

se alejaron un poco del puesto, recibiendo la gracias de la mujer. lara miró su pulsera y después a juani, a sus ojos.

—¿puedes ponérmela? —juani asintió torpe, anudando con un lazo la pulsera a su muñeca. sentía que se le subía el corazón a la garganta. le mostró su pulsera verde y la chica repitió sus acciones. 

ambos se quedaron por unos momentos admirando sus respectivas muñecas: lara descubriendo nuevas emociones y juani rindiéndose ante las que había estado reprimiendo por un largo tiempo. después, conectaron sus miradas. el joven se sintió indefenso ante esos ojos verdes y su boca reseca luchaba por soltar todo lo que su corazón sentía. 

—nunca me había fijado en que aquí había un jardín —gracias a dios, la joven aligeró la tensión del momento —. ¿sabes a qué recuerda? —el joven negó— a la escena de highschool musical 3 en la que gabriella y troy bailan en la azotea.

la chica le sonrió, dedicándole una mirada cómplice que juani entendió al momento. se dirigieron corriendo hacia el jardín como dos niños y una vez allí, dejando las patatas de lado, lara carraspeó para preparar su voz y quedó en frente del joven. entonces, comenzó a cantar las primeras líneas de can i have this dance? al tiempo que le tendía la mano a juani, quien la aceptó sonriente. la mano fría de ella contrastó con el calor que irradiaba la de él, estremeciendo a ambos. 

comenzaron con su espectáculo, lo más parecido que pudieron al original. lara recorría el jardín, subiendo escalones seguida por el chico. daban vueltas juntos al ritmo de sus voces, dedicándose miradas que lejos estaban de parecer de simple amistad. llegó la parte en la que gabriella se paraba en un pequeño círculo y lara, deseosa de hacer lo mismo, subió a un escalón y trastabilló. 

—¡cuidado! 

juani llegó justo para sostenerla en el escalón. la chica estalló en risas mientras juani la miraba aún algo preocupado. 

—estoy bien, estoy bien. gracias, mi caballero. 

lara continuó la canción y juani con ella, haciendo que lara girara sobre ella, guiada por las manos firmes del chico en su cintura, tal como los protagonistas de la película. se acercaba el final de la canción, los jóvenes estaban jadeando, pero felices; confusos, pero expectantes. 

terminaron abrazados el uno al otro, cogiendo el aire helado de la tarde. lara suspiró ante la cercanía y la extrañeza de la situación. en algún punto de la tarde, sentía que algo había cambiado entre ellos dos.

cuando se encontró con sus ojos celestes, vio en ellos algo que la asustó. se separó de él como si quemara, dándole una sonrisa apenada en respuesta. 

—será mejor que lleguemos ya a mi casa, el frío se me está colando en los huesos. 

—dale. 

y así, retomaron el camino hacia la casa de la chica. lara tenía mucho que pensar en su cabeza y un remolino de sentimientos encontrados en el corazón, pero sobretodo se sentía una horrible persona por cortar de esa forma a juani. estaba claro que algo iba a pasar antes de que se separara de él. ¿una confesión? ¿un beso? pensar en cualquiera de las dos opciones hacía que le sudaran las manos de los nervios. 

llegaron a su casa con solo el viento como sonido de fondo. la casa de lara siempre había sido uno de sus lugares favoritos, principalmente porque podía estar con ella y le ayudaba a despejarse de sus propios problemas. y con solo pasar por el marco de la puerta, sentía que toda la tensión se desvanecía. 

—vamos, me he dejado todo preparado para vernos todas las pelis de una sentada. 

esa tarde habían quedado para ver la saga de los juegos del hambre, la favorita de ambos.

la habitación de la chica te recibía con un golpe de aire caliente y una luz tenue que provenía de la mesilla de noche. se desprendieron de sus abrigos y de sus zapatos y poco después se acomodaron en la cama uno junto al otro. 

—te quedas a dormir, ¿verdad? 

juani asintió en respuesta y la chica reprimió una sonrisa contenta. mientras ella se encargaba de poner la película, el joven se quedó observando la pulserita verde de su muñeca. estaba decidido a dar el paso que llevaba temiendo tanto tiempo y después de lo ocurrido, no se equivocaba al no intentarlo. puede que nunca pudiera estar con lara en la forma que él quería, pero cualquier cosa era mejor que llegar a perderla. 

—¡listo! a por la viciada. 

lara se acomodó en la cama, cogió una manta y los tapó a ambos mientras la peli comenzaba. 

después de ver la primera, el espacio que los separaba se había reducido. tras la segunda, sus hombros ya chocaban el uno con el otro. con la tercera, juani había recostado su cabeza en el cuello de la chica y esta había hecho lo mismo sobre los rizos del joven. cuando los créditos de la segunda parte de sinsajo ya estaban pasando, ambos chicos estaban profundamente dormidos: lara abrazaba el torso de juani y tenía su rostro sobre la barriga de este; juani se limitaba a arropar a la chica que tenía sobre él. 

puede que ese día en el jardín no fuera el momento en el que confesarían sus emociones, pero una cosa estaba clara: el amor que les unía nunca podría desvanecerse, sino solo unirlos más hasta que fuera irremediable que ambos dejaran el miedo atrás y se atrevieran a sentir.
