Sort of obsessing over the concept of Tim, having been acknowledged canonically as a talented photographer, using these skills for morally gray reasons. There's the obvious fact that he's the "old" mentor to group of young protagonists, but what else do you think would count?

OHH BOY ok so I'd think I'm a crackpot for this but since we're talking about Zack "Foreshadowing" Morrison. I have some thoughts

No harm in leading with the (chronologically) first thing that jumped out at me:

This one IMMEDIATELY made me antsy whenever I came back to it after my initial read, and considering Zack has referred to it on twitter in the past as one of their favorite jokes it's definitely not been forgotten about.

Second, the sheer amounts of near-misses, jokey or not, of Spender narrowly avoiding specifically lightning

Again, not much, but it's weird that it happened thrice, latter two of which had real gravitas rather than an one-off joke.

And third, Spender himself. He's repeatedly shown himself to be kind of a self sacrificing idiot, as well as prideful to a fault. Granted, it's both him and Mina trying to take on all the responsibility of saving Mayview and its inhabitants from their fate.. But Spender is exactly that right measure of doesn't-value-himself-enough (chest footprint aftercare or lack thereof), having an obscene amount of power (enables his loner act + pride) and poor judgement that has the capacity to put him at great risk. And it has!

Spender has not only shown low enough self-esteem to view himself as the de-facto scapegoat for the safety of the town, but also prideful enough to make very bad calls that end up in people, often himself, hurt (COUGH FORGE INCIDENT COUGH)

This is all conjecture, but it's definitely enough to make me worried about him :') Even if all this doesn't mean he'll necessarily die he's definitely getting (even more) seriously injured at some point. I love the guy but he's so far doing a horrible job of convincing me he wants to live bad enough to circumvent at least that

Sometime during what would either be before or during S1, Meri's childhood friend turned flame legion convert starts harassing his friends who're actively in the legions to try and get his attention, because he's Obsessed with him. It eventually culminates in a confrontation during a ritual Ovidius Suneater is trying to conduct, Ovidius asking Meri to join him, to be His. Meri ends up tackling Ovidius into the surrounding lava (with a frost aura up to protect himself, he's not that stupid) and Ovidius ends up with a mess up arm and the ritual is wrecked. Needless to say when Ovidius eventually leaves the cult he's in and makes a deal with the Whispers, Meri is absolutely furious to hear about it and wants Ovidius kept as far away from him as possible.

Roier isn’t thinking about ‘punishing’ Bad at all. It’s not a matter of spite, Roier isn’t plotting some sort of revenge, not that we’ve seen, he’s not trying to make sure Bad doesn’t take care of an egg - he just doesn’t trust Bad, to a further degree than ever before. And it’s not because of his depression or misery, or general lack of trust with most people, it is directly because of Purgatory. (Here’s more of my thoughts in response to other comments about the breakdown of trust with Bad due to Purgatory, and how serious it is to Roier)

Bad spent the entire time in Purgatory burning bridges. Roier watched as Bad spawnkilled Red team before he joined them, especially upset when Jaiden was the main target. He was there when Bad went back on the deal between blue and green to keep their score 50/50, when they were all under the assumption that the losing team could die permanently. Then he was with Red when Bad tried to torment them, tried to get around the spawn killing rule, tried to take offense at getting killed (when he was the one attacking them, the one in their base stealing).

I could spend much longer listing out specific things that Bad in particular did, not just Blue team in general, which is why the mistrust is so specific to Bad.

And Roier hasn’t been in a good spot since even before Purgatory, only made worse by its events, by the fact Cellbit isn’t back yet and he has a new child to take care of. But he hasn’t been wallowing, he’s been busy - rebuilding Bobby’s city with Pepito, taking care of Pepito and Leo, keeping an extra eye on Pepito because he doesn’t trust the fact that the new eggs came right after Purgatory because now it seems like everyone’s forgetting Purgatory with how it’s being brushed over. He’s been angry, furious, at the fact that everyone is just brushing over Purgatory. At the Federation hardly addressing it and the lack of searches for the missing members and the suspicions around the new eggs and the way Bad just comes up and talks to him as if nothing had happened.

(and he’s been planning something, something he only told Leo about, that’s vague and unknown, and assumedly is meant to try and find the missing members - his missing family - who didn’t make it to the boat, but that’s not entirely relevant - it’s just been his focus outside of Pepito and repairing Bobby’s City)

He has reasons to be angry. Reasons to distrust Bad. Even if there’s never been any cause to think Bad would have anything but the eggs best interests in mind. Even if Bad has taken care of Leo and had watched out for all of the eggs. It’s not about if Bad cares about the eggs - it’s about Roier not trusting bad, and being protective as an extension of that.

It’s all kinda moot at this point - Foolish logged on today after all, and reunited with Leo. Whatever conflict that could have arisen from Bad caring for Leo without Roier being there is always just going to be speculation. But I still think there could have been, because of the extent Roier has been avoiding Bad and having Leo and Pepito avoid him, due to his mistrust.

I've always wondered what the deal was with Simon because Jamie never brought him up before and doesn't seem to think of him as a father figure :/

I don't think there's necessarily a "deal" with Simon, I think it's just that he wasn't around yet while Jamie was growing up, so they don't really have a father/son relationship

I've always hc'd that Simon was with Georgie starting when Jamie was like 15 or 16 and their relationship was very antagonistic at first (entirely on Jamie's end, because he was traumatized + brainwashed by his dad and very hostile to the idea of another man in his & Georgie's lives) so they're not close like that

I'm currently at the part in the book where Palpatine is about to reveal himself as a sith lord and the novelization is just. so. sososososo good about it.. Palpatine has known Anakin since he was NINE, he's been "friends" with Anakin ever since he first arrived to be a Jedi, and Anakin literally considers him FAMILY. He says so himself.

And like. For some context to this situation, Anakin has been a slave his entire life until he got picked up by Qui-Gon to be trained as a Jedi. And even then, Jedi are more considered.. just that, Jedi, before they are people. They aren't allowed to own anything. So he's literally never owned anything in his whole entire life. And I don't know how much you know about Star Wars anon, but Palpatine makes me so fucking angry because like. He's been working to make an unstoppable killing machine for decades. And he sensed the force was so strong in Anakin and also sensed that he had a lot of mixed emotions. And literally the moment me met this nine year old child, he made it his personal goal to become his best friend who he could trust more then anything, so Anakin would tell him anything, so he could use it all against him to manipulate him into making him his own personal berserker who would kill anyone he asked. Since Anakin was nine. And as additional heart wrenching context, please keep in mind that like. Anakin had, not even a minute before this conversation, a full blown literal panic attack directly in front of Palpatine. And he hasn't eaten or slept for days, maybe even a full week, because his soul crushing anxiety and prophetic dreams about his wife dying have been keeping him from doing so. Which is literally manipulation 101, that someone is way easier to manipulate when they're sleep deprived.

And now I'm just gonna send a few silly little paragraphs I'm reading to just know how wild I'm going over here at 2:30 in the damn morning.
