you’re nine, ten years old and suddenly everything happens at once. your father dies, and you have to save a kingdom you didn’t even know EXISTED, and the fate of the world rests on your small shoulders. initially, it doesn’t really hit that everything is relying on you, because you’re a child. you have a few fun adventures, saving people and feeling like a hero. and yes, it’s dangerous, but you’re the hero! you can do it!

and you blink, and suddenly, everything’s larger. you stand on unsteady feet, not used to your sudden height, and the stalchildren are now stalfos, and the towns you once new are in ruins — everything is in ruins because you weren’t enough when you first pulled the master sword. and while your body may be larger, you’re still ten years old.

god i want. an au where it dosn't work. where it's just arr g'raha who's woken up, and he doesn't have all these memories and all these people keep looking at him like they're mourning someone. the world has changed and time has changed and all the people he knows have changed, but he hasn't changed, he was just sleeping, just sleeping, and the world nearly ended several times and apparently he helped prevent yet another end but he has no memory of this. they want him to join the scions. he does not know these people. he doesn't know these people. they seem to know him. he wonders if he'd killed someone, when it was him and not that exarch who woke up. he wonders if it should have been him who was "killed" in that way, if it is him that lives and not that man who had known and become friends with all these figures from legend. he wonders if he'll always be fated to be a historian one step back from everything, because he simply cannot be a hero.

a sickly reader who is the human embodiment of spring and light engaged to sub-zero bi-han for the lin kuei's power (it's a rwby-esque situation where four people were given powers of the four seasons until they died and the power is passed on to the next holder). taking care of them used to be a burden for bi-han, but he learned to love them bit by bit through their kindness and gentle way of viewing the world.

I basically ended up taking a complete hiatus from tumblr for several months when my migraines got real bad last year. And then things, as things do, kept on happening. Bastards.

I haven't looked much at the tag yet and I still have to catch up with the first five? Chapters and relearn the ropes so to speak, but hopefully I'll see some familiar faces around this year, and new ones 👀

Last time I couldn't get to the end but what I did get through was a lot of fun and the best part was what everyone else was saying and drawing and discussing! That's what I missed the most, was talking and joking with everyone. Lotr is probably my Favorite Story, and to have this in-time community readthrough is such a treasure.
