due to popular demand, a follow up to this featuring: 18+ content, gaz, ballerina!reader, internet stalking, men being gross, another a thinly veiled character study
Kyle is a good man.
Granted, his metric is not attuned to common standards for morality anymore, nor has it been that way since basic. He's sure that if he were to pick any sheltered samaritan off the street to read out his laundry list of transgressions, they'd balk at the fact that their taxes go to keeping him fed. They'd rather their image of the army stay unsullied and ideal. They'd rather keep him at arms length with a thank you for your service and not confront the blood caked beneath his fingernails.
But he can no longer be held to their degree. No longer exists within these spaces. No. Kyle – or Gaz, if one were to go off of what he's called most often nowadays – is a doorstop. A pestle. Something inconspicuous, obscure, that serves the sole function of making life easier for everyone but itself. And he assumes this role with a handful of others who have nothing else to live for, exiled to crowd the back of Foxhounds and kill at a moment's notice. Foul men. Friends.
If someone were to line up every operative on a special forces unit, or better yet collect the likes of the 141 and asses each for their moral standing, Gaz can rest knowing he'd come out on top. He's not yet as far gone as they are; can enjoy a night out or a pretty bird writhing underneath him without wanting to choke her out. Only devoted to his captain, or the others, to the extent that their professional relationship calls for (no matter how much it itches at him to watch Ghost take care of Soap, or to reject Price when he offers him a drink).
Sure, he laughs at their jokes. Might pitch in when they're swapping stories of their filthiest catch, Soap rattling on about the lass who'd stuffed her tongue up his arse, or encourage them to shoot on sight if they spot a potential threat, civilian or otherwise. Yet the difference is this: when he goes home, he can stuff that all away.
Knows not to let it infest the boundaries of the real world. Off deployment, his comrades play pretend at the noncombatant lifestyle, but the guise is ill-fitting. They're too big for their skin. They stretch and tear at the conventions holding them in place, like feral dogs made to heel. Kyle doesn't have to be tamed. He's still functional, familiar with the expectations held of him. Can submit to integrity more easily than most.
Kyle is a good man.
And that's what he tells himself as he returns home, train car completely void of anyone but himself. He's good for having given you up. He's good for not have followed you home. There'd been a brief lapse of judgement, but he's good for doing something about it before things passed the point of no return.
You've lived this far without his protection, he reasons. Yet it doesn't change the unreachable itch, closed away in a supposedly locked box. Gaz. Or, his captain's voice, cigar-smoked and advisory.
But why should you continue like that.
It's hard to fall asleep that night.
He's sick with worry wondering if you ever got home, bile broiling and distending up his throat at the thought of having abandoned you. It's pure concern that compels him to find your socials, really. Kyle is only searching for an update, or recent post, indicating that you're alive.
With nothing to go off of but a face, he searches for dance studios in both Acton Town, your area, and the Kensington, the area where you'd boarded the tube from. He makes a shortlist of the most reputable ones (your attire seemed to imply that you were a seasoned ballerina) and cross-checks them as hosts of upcoming recitals. Two renditions of Swan Lake and a production of Giselle turn up, each with their very own cast lists. Thus begins a tireless search of every name credited.
His heart almost leaps out of his nose when you eventually load into view, then plummets at how easy you'd been to find.
Your vulnerability only sets Kyle's conviction in stone. Bloody good thing he's got your best interests in mind.
Locked twitter, a LinkedIn, and a public Instagram page which sends his blood pressure skyrocketing after checking your follower count. Popular. And of course he can see why. Over a hundred posts chronicling bright smiles and flattering outfits. You mainly use the account to promote your practice, though; feed full of skimpy little outfits, leotards and exposed sternums and impossible poses.
Stop it. He's here for something specific.
Kyle sips in a deep breath, scrolls back to the top of your page, clicks on your most recent post. A casual video of your leg raised on a barre while your friend counts how high above your previous record you're able to stretch. Your skin is sweat-slicked. Your mouth is thrown open in a half-laugh, half-pant. He almost forgets why he clicked on it in the first place, before the timestamp catches his eye.
So, you'd gotten home.
He can go to bed now.
Exit your account. Swipe up on Instagram to clear it from his running apps. If he's extra disciplined, he'd block you. Rob himself of the temptation to tug himself over the photo of you in the splits.
Kyle is a good man because he knows his limits.
(But Kyle now also knows the address of your studio. That, even if he blocks you, it'll take up space in his chest. A ticking-time bomb. A knowledge that'll haunt him whenever he's on the District, Circle, or Piccadilly lines, and the train announces Gloucester Road. A force, a stone in his throat, that'll grow so large it'll force him to stand up and disembark, to walk until he's standing right outside and wait on you to wrap up rehearsal.)
It occurs to him that the point of no return has long since passed.
Tumblr media
inclusivity note: i felt the need to say that, while reader is a dancer, her profession is not meant to imply anything about her body type. flexibility and agility are not limited to thin builds, and while the ballet industry can be very toxic, i've seen my fair share of spaces where all figures are embraced and success is determined only by ability!

Do you take headcanon requests? If yes, what would be the HL boys reactions when they get caught making out with MC?
To be honest, nonnie, I'm more of a fic girlie, but I could try 💜 These ones are for Ominis, Sebastian, and Garreth - if you'd like other characters, let me know.
Ominis:
Ominis is not really into PDA - he'll hold hands with MC but won't do much more than that when others are around. For a make-out session with MC, he'd prefer somewhere discreet, like the Undercroft or some other not-so-public space at Hogwarts, where others cannot interrupt quite so easily.
He definitely thinks that private moments are best enjoyed, well, privately.
That is not to say that interruptions don't happen, at least sometimes - be that Sebastian bursting into the Undercroft at an inopportune moment or some other student or professor happening upon Ominis and MC when they are making out in some secret nook outside the Undercroft.
Whenever that happens, Ominis is always quite irritated with the intruder - he is possessive of MC in a very protective sort of way and doesn't want anyone else to see her in such a delicate position. Especially because on occasion he gets too carried away, and a simple make-out session turns into...something more.
If a student happens upon them, Ominis will threaten them into silence - the last thing he needs is too many rumors spreading around the school.
If it's a professor, he'll take responsibility and play at remorse, hoping they won't breathe a word of it to Professor Black. Otherwise, he'll inevitably be receiving a letter from his family. (A howler, most likely, if MC is half-blood or muggleborn, and a "we are meeting with her family to finalize your engagement, and no, fifteen is not too young to be engaged, your father and I were already married at that age" letter if she's a pure-blood).
Sebastian:
Sebastian's quite the opposite in this respect - he loves PDA. Loves having his arm draped around MC's shoulders when they walk together, loves holding her hand when they sit next to each other, loves kissing at every chance he gets. And, if he were to be completely honest, loves leaving love bites on MC's skin for others to see.
He's possessive, too, but in a different sort of way - he needs everyone around him to know that MC is hisand his alone.
The possibility of getting caught when doing something naughty thrills him to no end, so he will take any chance he gets to make out with MC in a public or a semi-public place.
Anything that gets his blood rushing with adrenaline excites him in other ways as well. Sneaking around in the Restricted Section? Surely, he has a moment to kiss MC breathless right against the bookshelves. Hiding from the prefects in a broom closet? No time like now to have a make-out session and maybe go a little further unless, of course, they get caught too soon.<
Outside of the context of breaking the school rules, he'd make out with MC on the Grand Staircase or even in the Great Hall if she'd allowed it, and to hell with anyone who could see them.
If a person who catches Sebastian and MC making out is a fellow student, Sebastian usually plays it cool, unless it's someone who he views to be a threat to his relationship - in which case, he'll definitely be taking a few liberties, just to make sure that that person knows that MC is his and his alone.
If it's a professor, Sebastian relies on his charms to get out of trouble - but that doesn't always work. Still, he doesn't mind - it turns out making out with MC in detention in the few minutes that a professor is gone from the classroom to run some errand is just as exciting as making out in the Restricted Section.
Garreth:
Garreth is naturally super affectionate, so if MC is open to PDA, he'll be more than happy to hold her hand, hug her and, perhaps, even exchange small, chaste kisses around others.
Definitely not the type to initiate a make-out session on the Grand Staircase - unless it's some kind of super emotional moment, like, for example, Gryffindor winning the Quidditch cup or MC accepting his marriage proposal - but isn't exactly against making out with MC in places that are a little less public. Like, for example, one of the dozens of empty classrooms in the castle.
There's a risk of getting caught, of course, even in an empty classroom - but he cannot exactly be expected to think rationally when MC is kissing him like that. The moment the make-out session starts, all caution is thrown to the wind.
Because of that, the interruptions happen much more often than Garreth would like.
Definitely gets flustered when caught, but how flustered very much depends on who caught them. If it's a fellow student, Garreth shrugs it off pretty quickly. If it's a professor, Garreth will be trying to take sole responsibility for breaking the school's conduct because the last thing he wants is to get MC in trouble.
If caught, his main concern is always MC - if she seems uneasy, he'll do whatever he can to make her comfortable again, but if she's indifferent to being caught in such a compromising position, he'll get over it pretty quickly.
His greatest fear is probably being caught by his aunt because that will be invariably followed by two kinds of talks that Garreth really dreads - the "talk" talk and the "now that you've caused this young lady to be caught in a compromising situation, it's your responsibility to do the right thing and make an honest witch out of her" talk.

Star Trek series rated by horniness (as rated by me, an asexual, so you know its objective):
Star Trek: The Original Series - what is there to say for the series that invented slashfic, fuck-or-die, and Thiess's theory of titillation in costuming? The universe is full of greased-up pecs and scantily clad women wondering what is this thing you call...love? It's easier to mention the episodes that *aren't* horny. 10/10, for how could it be otherwise?
Star Trek: The Animated Series - It's a Saturday morning cartoon series from the 70s, and yet... 3/10, for the surprising number of scantily clad muscular guys
Star Trek: The Next Generation - Oh, we *start* quite horny; Roddenberry is keen to let us know that the android has a penis in the second episode; but then Roddenberry dies, and by the final season even Troi is wearing a sensible duty uniform. 6/10 for Will Riker, though
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - We've got Quark's, where the women are scantily clad, the holosuites are for fucking, and the waiters give themselves ear infections from doing too much oo-mox on themselves. We've got Jadzia Dax, who has three hundred years worth of sexcapades in two genders and will tell you about them at the drop of a hat. We've got Bashir and his sad blue balls for the first two seasons. We've got Klingons breaking each other's clavicles to initiate coitus. And we've got an enemy power led by the perpetual mind-melting gangbang that canonically is the Great Link. 9/10
Star Trek: Voyager - Weirdly conservative in its sexual politics. I mean, it goes out of its way to stick poor Jeri Ryan in that body condom, and there's a whole episode about space whales wanting to fuck the ship, and another one about Janeway wanting to fuck an Irishman, and *two* episodes about Pon Farr...actually, you know what? 6/10.
Star Trek: Enterprise - You know what, let me tell you about this series; this series is like a 14-year-old asexual boy boasting about his supposed sexual conquests in the hopes that it will endear him to the cool kids. It doesn't work; there's nothing genuine about it and everyone knows it; no matter how many innuendos he throws in, it's clear that there's no joy in it for him and he'd be happier if he could just go off and read comic books. Secretly, he wishes his friends still wanted to play with action figures. -1/10
Star Trek: Discovery - The show presents us with wall-to-wall gays who just...never seem to shtup each other. Like, I of all people know that sex doesn't define queerness, but...really? I guess maybe they're afraid of being less than wholesome? Anyways, 2/10 for that time that the Emperor went off to fuck a couple of Orions in the middle of a dangerous secret mission on the Klingon homeworld.
Star Trek: Picard - A series so sexless that it can't even show its main canonical couple enjoying each other's company for more than 5 seconds each season. And yet the chaste Jurati/Borg Queen pairing manages to be the hottest thing ever in the history of fiction. Anyway, I guess they technically had Agnes sleep with Rios in the first season, so 1/10.
Star Trek: Lower Decks - Oooh boy, we're at the heavy hitter now, my god. Completely, unashamedly horny. Gene Roddenberry *wishes* he could have done that orgy scene that people on Twitter were freaking out about. 11/10
Star Trek: Prodigy- They're *kids*. 0/10
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Not really a lot, surprisingly given their TOS pastiche. Still, we get some stuff with Spock. 3/10.

seeing a "Mike is completely oblivious to his feelings and doesn't know he's in love with Will" take float on my dash from the wild and... i'm sorry i hate this interpretations so much. everyone can see things differently, but Mike having no clue of his own feelings makes absolutely no sense with what we see on screen to me. none
if this is ranty ignore little old me, i just need to complain today lmao
not only does Mike pause to look at Will's lips multiple times, which you could maybe argue he just doesn't realize anymore (doubtful since it's not something he's always done, it only started in s3 which is less than a full year away from s4 canonically)
there's also the whole fact that nothing else of his s4 conflict would make sense anymore. if Mike didn't know he didn't love El, what was he worried about telling her then, that she wouldn't like the truth of? it can't be that he loves her because he knows she would like that. Mike has to consciously be aware of something he knows he should tell El, but can't, because he's scared of how she'll take it
the same also goes for the sbp scene where Mike looks back at Will, shocked or conflicted, because Will is pushing him to confess to El. the initial shock would be inappropriate if Mike was already planning to tell El he loved her anyways and had no idea he actually loved Will
Tumblr media
it also means that Mike didn't intentionally lie during the monologue with is almost more egregious because we saw Mike talk to the other's about sending El to Pennhurst with 0 concerns. he didn't know El overheard that so it might be something he thinks El could believe. but he himself would remember that he didn't "fall in love with her that moment", saying otherwise just makes Mike look like the dumbest, most unaware character in the whole show by far. not even just the show, it would probably make him one of the most oblivious characters out of Any show i can think of right now actually
it would also make no sense why we're completely barred from Mike's inner feelings during the monologue. if Mike genuinely believed what he was saying we'd be allowed to know his thoughts, since they wouldn't spoil anything yet. but alas, not only does Finn keep his lips sealed, even the rough drafts from three years ago skip over his internal feelings or thoughts completely which is extremely unusual for an emotional monologue of this importance and magnitude
everything else aside, the idea that Mike would just. not realize. he's queer and in love with his best friend is kind of bizarre to me. it really plays into the fanon version of Mike who is inhumanly oblivious and stupid. because canon Mike is actually not that bad with feelings, he can articulate himself if he wants to and he can pick up on and explain complex emotions he himself feels all the way back in s1. saying that Mike is genuinely too oblivious to realize his feelings isn't at all in line with his canon characterization
and besides it not making sense for his character. it's also a nonsensical choice from a writers perspective. if Mike would genuinely be unaware of his feelings for Will and his queerness; Byler would be rushed. i'm excited for Byler as much as the next person but this would be a horrible way to go about it. because s5 would then need to include:
Mike realizing he's not in love with El
Mike realizing he's queer
Mike dealing with the consequences of being queer in the 80s/coming to terms with said queerness to the point he feels comfortable acting on it
Mike realizing he's in love with Will
Mike and El finally breaking up
Mike and Will confessing to each other and getting together
that is an absurd amount of things to cram into a single seasons and essentially a character 180 in 8ish episodes. and all these points also need space and time to breathe to sit well with the audience. having Mike realize he's not in love with El and realize he's in love with Will would need a significant pause in between to feel good for the audience, but there's only so much time left. that will feel rushed no matter how well you write it. if they just revealed Mike being queer and in love with Will to the audience while having him already be aware of it we'd skip steps 1-4 on this list. the audience getting new information and recontextualizing things that already happened takes significantly less time than having a character go through the realizations first hand since that takes more development time
at this point, there's no way to write Mike realizing he's queer from scratch well with only one season left. there just isn't. especially with the amount of plot we need to cover in s5, the action, and all the other characters that need solid endings. opening a whole new can of worms for Mike is counterproductive. last seasons close character arcs, they don't kick new one's up that would take forever to properly flesh out
the thing that just really bothers me about this whole, "Mike doesn't know yet, he's oblivious" narrative, besides making little sense from a writer's pov and directly contradicting his canon character. is also that most takes just read extremely belittling. because a lot of people who say this seem to be aware that there won't be time to properly explore Mike's character or feelings like this. and they're fine with it because Mike will just be "Will's boyfriend", and only Will needs to come to terms with his queerness, Mike doesn't need an arc. and it's weird. the idea that Mike will have his whole queer realization in s5 hinges on the fact that Mike's character isn't important enough to get a fully fleshed out arc/time to naturally move from point A to point B, and that he'll just go from one relationship to the next with no problems

Sometimes I wish we could have seen the second conversation and vote of letting Ed on the ship. I think it would stop people from saying Stede outright went against the crews' wishes.
The first vote to kick him off was only by one vote. And Stede went along with it, he was going to let Ed - a major part of his reason for returning, a person he wrote love letters to for months, who he called the love of his life - go for his crew.
And yes, we don't know if he would have gone after him or not, but we know they did accidentally run into each other and Stede specifically states he will bring it back up to the crew for Ed to stay the night.
In the next scene, we see that they voted yes, with provisions. With ways for Ed to atone to them to stay on the ship. His weapons and leathers are taken away - he is in a rice sack that offers no space for said weapons. Something that someone had to make him (either Wee John or Frenchie since they have the sewing skills.) And we have the cat collar and bell so he doesn't sneak up on people.
If the crew truly did not want Ed there at all, if Stede "made them" keep him, then we wouldn't have these small things. The crew would have reacted very differently. They could have flat out said no, they could have left the ship themselves, they could have kicked both Stede and Ed off. But they didn't, and to say otherwise really takes away the crews autonomy just to paint Stede into a villain.
Yes, Stede has faults, but this show makes a point AGAIN in this same episode that Stede comes through for the crew in the end. Just like with Ed being back on the ship. Stede doesn't realize how much the cursed suit is affecting the crew. And when he sees them literally attack him, and when he listens to Izzy, he grows. Stede is emotionally immature. But his heart is in a good place. So once again, he lets the crew decide, even if it's against what he wants. He is maturing, learning, becoming a better person, even if it is slow.
Stede has always cared about his crew; he knows every single person's name in the pilot. He reads them bedtime stories, he gives them art projects to get along together. He tries to help them, he makes Lucius yell at him instead of Pete. And yes, they played him running away for laughs at the end, but once again, not a single person on this show is perfect or is going to handle ever situation perfectly. That is the point. Everyone is flawed, and even if they are flawed, they deserve a community, love, friendship, found family.
Stede CARES! And he grows (albeit slowly, and only once he realizes how his actions are affecting others - but that's how emotionally immature people grow) And that's a fundamental part of his character.

Soooo this has been in the works for a while. Some fun and self indulgent and silly au that I actually got way too attached to!!! To the point I've actually got a whole outline of a story for it! Going to put it in under the cut :^]
-
For context: I haven't really decided if this is a completely parallel universe where kris and susie and everyone else has any input on the world. Or if its simply just a year or two early to main storyline stuff. Idk, still thinking, I'll figure it out eventually.
Story time now though! Just as they are in their actual canon story, arrfs is from space! An alien trying to integrate into the Lightner world. Despite pups best efforts over the years, she still manages to wind up without a friend. I'm still heavily workingshopping what exactly their Lightner life was like or how exactly they stumbled into the dark world, all I know is pup gets there somehow!
Once arrfs DOES reach the dark world, pup is absolute terrified. Not only is there no one to tell them what's going on or where they are, but there's also no one to face the unknown with her. Unsure what to make of the change of clothes and new surroundings, pup treks on until- just as she does in the actual deltarune canon- queen pops up out of nowhere to capture her!!! Arrfs instinctually turns into a little tiny worm as a way to hide and defend pupself and queen just accepts it, going "Oh shit lol they disappeared woah. Okay bye."
Skipping ahead a bit bc otherwise we'll be here all day (and also bc I mainly have the meat of this story planned out rather than anything prior)! Arrfs stumbles around cyber city lost and confused after a close run-in with some ambyu-lances. That is, until they find themself in an alleyway. And who else do they find there other than spamton g. spamton himself!!! Instantly picking up on the fact that pup is a Lightner, spamton attempts to lure her into buying one of his wares so that pup may learn to trust him. Which quickly goes south when he realizes that arrfs doesn't have a single cent to their name. He frowns, instead offering her a place to relax. A place to stop running from every Darkner that attempts to approach them. This lands arrfs in spamtons shop, of course! While it seems like a friendly offer, in reality it's mainly offered so that spam has more time to think up a deal. One that would really hook arrfs and ultimately benefit spamton himself.
But then it hits him. This Lighter is lost and confused with nowhere to go and no one to turn to. If he were to hire them with promise of a roof over their head and a place to stay (however low quality and surrounded by garbage it may be), they would not only be a much friendlier face to lure his customers in, but would also come to trust him. THAT'S how you hook a customer and make them into a returning one. That's his ticket into getting into the basement. And to his surprise... arrfs jumps on the idea! Pup's very desperate to get a controlled grip on this world, and most of all, really just to find a friend after all these years. Blissfully unaware of the real nature behind the deal, she seals it.
I'm still working on the exact details of how the rest of it plays out, all I know is that the two actually do wind up becoming genuine friends! Spamton initially was in it for himself, sure, but instead he finds himself so comfortable with the first genuine friendship he's had in years. He fufills his goal of enabling arrfs to be completely trusting of him, but he never figured he would be so trusting of them as well. Not to mention that with all of arrfs help, they've pulled together a bit more of a stable income. She's even encouraged him to create his own art that sells for a much higher price than his normal wares. He almost wants to delay getting his hands on want he wants down in the basement out of fear he may lose all the good he's found. Almost.
And that's what I've got so far! I think it's fun!
-
Extra design notes!!!
I know I stylized black and gray as blue on spamton btw but that was just the fit the blue theme on the rest of this. Arrfs' cloak is actually just that color blue!
Arrfs is surrounded by butterfly themes in the dark world! I figured that since their themes are mainly focused on grubs and caterpillars outside of the au just as a normal sona, butterflies would be a cool approach to show some kind of change! That's also the shape of their cloak- butterfly wings!

Hi! So I had a request for Avatar the way of water where the reader is a huge daddy’s girl and is also like Jake’s favorite because she rarely gets into trouble but when she does Jake gets super angry and disappointed in her but she stands her ground and when it gets to much she just storms away and since then they bump heads constantly and aren’t the same anymore. Could you write how they are forced to make up by the family brcause they just can’t handle the tension anymore? I would be very happy if you use my idea. Stay healthy and don’t overwork yourself!
Sullys Stick Together
[F!Reader, but could be read as gender neutral I don't actually give you any pronouns or code you any way.]
[Warnings: Like, none?]
Spoilers for The Way of Water in here!!
[AN: My apologies this took like a month for me to do,,, I honestly take my time with things these days. Anyways, here's this for you! Just headcanons because my energy is going towards uni.]
Reblogs are appreciated!
Everyone in the family is tired of the passive aggressiveness you and your father are showing towards each other at this point. It's ridiculous how you two just actively refuse to talk about it or even attempt to make up.
Look, it was one mistake. ONE. Your father had already expected Lo'ak to screw around, but you? His golden child? The one who exceeds his expectations? The one who has done nothing but good the entire odd 15 or so years you've been alive? How could you mess around that badly? Making him look like a fool in front of Ronal and Tonowari... He asked you to pull your weight, not throw yourself head first into dangerous situations and actively disobey orders.
And to make it worse, you argued with him! Your anger to defend your brother Lo'ak and yourself had boiled over. It wasn't entirely your fault that you were beyond the reef. Ao'nung and Rotxo were truly the ones to blame! They played a cruel trick on you and your brother and you almost lost your lives in the process! And to make matters worse, Lo'ak took the blame. You wanted to tell Tonowari what had really happened and Lo'ak stopped you!
You tried to really explain this to your father. His anger shouldn't be directed towards Lo'ak or you. Your father didn't care and said that you weren't playing by Omaticaya standards, this was now Metkayina territory, and you all had to play and live by their rules.
What a load of bullshit. Verbatim, that's all you could say. Tail flicking downwards in annoyance, ears pressed flat against your skull - hell you even hissed at your father baring sharp canines to to further your ire at him - you couldn't understand why he was just rolling over and letting the Metkayina lord over him.
How they treated your sister, Kiri, how they almost got Lo'ak and yourself killed, the whispers of how inept you and your family were.... Fitting in here wasn't easy.
That was a rough night. Your father was more than upset with you and the space all of you lived in became awkward, cold and hostile. Your mother spent more than enough time hashing things out with your father but truly only the two of you could make this right.
"Your child has a strong heart," she said. "They take strongly after you. You know this." Your mother's voice was soothing and hushed as she spoke to your father. "Please, all they want to do is prove their point. It was not done in a good way, but they love you and cannot tell why you act and treat them, and their siblings otherwise."
Anyways there's no actual forcing here. While everyone is very tired of you two bumping heads, no one actually forces the two of you to make up. Neteyam might approach your father and try to sway his opinions, Tuk will often do something similar, no one can make things right between the two of you but you. Kiri doesn't really want to do anything either of you are uncomfortable with, as she respects you as her sibling, and Jake as her father but man she doesn't like the awkward energy either. I think she's just much more "teenage angst and sass" in her approaches to BOTH of you.
Neytiri is a bit more direct in her approach, often saying "your child misses you" or something to that effect. She's also a bit more blunt in believing Jake is the adult and he should make the first step to mending the relationship. However, Neytiri kinda gets behind your reasoning. She doesn't like being Metkayina either. She misses the forest. Misses being Omaticaya, and a tsahik in her own right.
Lo'ak argues with his father too. He's got your back through and through and hates that Jake is being such a hard ass on you.
Eventually, things just kinda come to an emotional head and you and your father talk it out. And it's done in that dad way of not actually addressing what had happened but rather understanding all you can do is move forward from the incident and make vague allusions to it later on.
It kinda works - Neytiri gets to stop nagging Jake to speak with you and your siblings can go back to not having to whisper about you.
Jake loves you. Of course he does. You're his child, he will always be your father, that is non negotiable.
But damn, you take after him just a bit too much.

Gonna request 🔥🔥🔥 (don't do this if you don't want to or if someone else requested this before)
So, HCs Spider-Noir with a sensitive (or just cries easily) s/o
like, they make small mistakes but they feel really bad about it, crying when they feel pressured, feeling pressured easily (like, when playing a game of teams and they feel nervous because they don't want to make the team fail for their fault), crying easily when someone is mean to them, feeling bad with jokes towards them even if it isn't serious (an example is that one time my sister told as a joke that she hated me and I cried) and etc.
(This is based of me, one time I cried because I accidentally bought a more cheap soda when I had more money for a bigger soda)
HIII wait that's also like me what.......... like man, i am so easy to overwhelm, i'm sorry you feel that way sometimes too ;-; but know this, if you wanna cry, fucking cry if you have to. it's free and it feels good, but also feels bad, but in the end, you'll feel way better than you would if you held the urge in. i hope you like this and always remember your feelings are valid 🫶🫶🫶
(reblogs are greatly appreciated, it helps get my content out there! if you guys like what you see, please reblog it too <:D)
noir x sensitive!gn!reader headcanons
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it hurts noir when you beat yourself up over small mistakes, and seeing and hearing you cry about it aches his heart tbh :( he wants to tell you so badly he loves that you're trying even if it looks hard and that you don't have to be the best at everything or get that many people to like you because you're perfect already the way you are.
he feels so bad when you start to overthink, but for every bad or negative thought you have of yourself, he has an honest to goodness truth to counter them. thinking you're disappointing your whole team if you do badly? well, you aren't the only member, you won't be the cause of their failure. you're worried other people won't like you if you make an impulsive decision because they're rushing you? well, he likes you and wants what's best for you, think it over, he'll deal with those people rushing you to make a decision.
if you're okay with it, noir would pat your back or head, hold your hand, wrap his arm around your shoulders or waist and just hold you to calm you down. he feels over your knuckles and the back of your hand when he does that, it's kind of his way to assure you everything will be alright, you have time, you don't need to do things too quickly, don't feel bad that you have needs, and of course you have wants that might not be what everyone else wants--and that's okay.
he doesn't get mad when you cry over a mean joke, he himself gets pissed off when other people think you're easy to fool or too sensitive or a crybaby when you cry about it. he would not hesitate to beat the shit out of whoever messed with you, but of course, he'd reason with them first. if words don't get through them, you know his fists will be.
but honestly, those people don't matter to him, because all that matters to him is you being okay. he doesn't want you to dwell too much on the bad things they did to you, so he tries to help you get past it, help you forget it and distract you if need be. he reminds you that your crying is valid, not everyone likes mean jokes, and you just happened to be one of those people.
"love, it's okay to cry about it. they didn't know you didn't like that, and they'd better learn that you don't... but your crying is valid, if they say otherwise, i'm beating their jaws in."
overall, noir just wants to be there for you and be the shoulder you cry on. he understands you're not the toughest person out there, but you're strong enough to admit to your vulnerabilities; and noir definitely looks up to you for that. he's here to provide you both all the comfort and space you might need, just say the word, he'll do any and everything he has to to keep you happy and wipe those tears from your eyes.

I saw your post about Saga and I 100% agree. I love her character so much and was so happy they avoided stereotypes AND gave her agency. She wasn't there just to save Alan (the horrid magical black person troupe was avoided) she was there for people who meant something to her and they just so happen to work together by the end. Remedy truly wrote a fascinating character and got a great actress to portray her. I'm glad the hate died out from the reactionaries but the apathy from the fandom is just as bad sometimes. I love her personality and I honestly love AnderCase as a ship and incorporating Saga into ships (AndercasexWake is a thing for me lol). I also like them as friends, their dynamic is so damn good I want to see them in future games. However, I gave up writing Andercase because people just ignore it most of the time. The fandom in general kind of feels isolating if you don't like the standard ships/characters. It's discouraging and sad and makes it hard to want to post. I tried again and of course the fic did poorly so I don't bother, reminds me how little people want anything to do with Saga. Even general fics would be awesome if people are squicked by het or don't like Saga and Casey as a ship. The fan space for her and ships/dynamics with her is so small...Drawing her is scary too given someone was attacked over it, so that worries me too and I kind of backed away. There's barely anything of Saga in any fanworks and when women are involved they gravitate to Rose and in some cases Estevez (the Yakuza mod just broke my heart they did not think to add Saga before Rose who has less time and at a point people shipped Casey with Estevex BEFORE Saga like WHAT). I know that struggle you're feeling. Saga and anything with her is a footnote and I know it's not malicious but it sucks. Fandom favoritism does not help, even in the smallness of Saga fandom content only a handful are seen and the rest ignored. I've been there and seen it, it pushes newcomers away. I hope this gets better in the future but not holding my breath. Love Remedyverse/Remedy but the fandom space depresses me which sucks because everyone seems nice to me, just...sorry for the rambling. Just saw a post that resonated with my frustrations.
Do you know the thing that gets me the most about Saga? She was created by a white man. And he, along with the other writers, made SURE to avoid the stereotypes we usually get in black women protags, especially in video games. She has a power, yes, but she's not using it solely to save one person. She doesn't even know she HAS a power until halfway through the game!
She wants to save her daughter first and foremost and then Casey, she tells Alan this point-blank, save my daughter and Casey, non-negotiable, she's NOT helping him otherwise. And you can see that as selfish, but it's not, if it had JUST been herself thrown into the story? She would've been FINE with it, you see her getting more and more excited about the case. She's intrigued EVERY step of the way. It only becomes personal when Alan has the audacity to use Logan and Casey, that's her line in the sand.
Melanie puts so much into making Saga come alive, because as amazing as the writing is, she could've still fallen into the sassy black woman trope, and Melanie doesn't let that happen. I think the ONLY criticism you can give her is that her accent slips, but I really never noticed it. I agree that I'm glad the hate from the dumbass gamer bros, but like you said, the apathy can be just as bad, it's a choice to not say the quiet part outloud.
I genuinely wish they'd just say, she's a black woman, therefore, I'm not interested in her. I only care about the white men. At least be HONEST about it, instead of raving about how fun it was to play as Saga and she's so badass but not backing it up with actions.
I love Andercase with every fiber of my being. I loved them from their first scene, despite knowing she was married to somebody else. Casey is Saga's support, you see her loving to crack her puns to Casey, she even thinks of one and saves it to memory solely to tell it to Casey. Not Logan, not David, but Casey.
They mirror each other, again from their first scene, drinking coffee at the same time. A trait they keep, even as the horror story creeps closer. Casey wouldn't be even a little bit interesting to me if he wasn't paired with Saga. He's the moon and she's the sun.
I'm so sorry you were discouraged to write and post about Andercase, even just as besties. Because their dynamic IS gold, and it echoes even when they're separated. The second Kiran shows up and kicks Saga off the case, she gets over it, fine, she'll deal, but help her find her partner, damnit! I've enjoyed fics where they are just besties, the ones that ACTUALLY focus on them and, you know, doesn't make Saga the driving force for CaseyWake and nothing else.
I think that's one of the reasons it's hard for me to ship Saga and FBI Casey with anyone else, because they're each other's closest interactions for so much of the game. It's hard for me to ship Alan with them because I see him and Saga as the true platonic soulmates of the AW2 cast and Casey HATES Alan. All the way up the ending of the final draft. You can see it in his expression and body language, if he hadn't just been through the wringer and so happy to see Saga, he definitely would've punched Alan for all he shit he's put them through.
Writing a pairing you love, feeling so proud and happy about the work you've done, just to see it brushed aside is one of the most painful feelings as a creator. Fandom is supposed to be for EVERYONE, it's not supposed to be high school cliques that can't interact with each other. I don't ship Alan with Saga's Casey (it's just the only way I see him, heh), but I've seen some AMAZING fan art for them that's made me smile. But you rarely see Saga involved, which makes no sense in regards to her Casey. If it was fictional Casey, that would make sense, he doesn't exist outside of Alan's head, while Saga's Casey is a living, breathing person who spends most of his time with Saga or talking about her.
Yet she's relegated to the bro when her Casey and Alan only have her in common. I can't buy Casey being soft and domestic with Alan to save my life. I see it with Saga, I can see Saga being soft with Alan because she does show that side to him. That's who she is, if you've earned her trust and respect. You can tell Saga is always the "good cop" while Casey is the "bad cop." The only time you see him sympathetic towards Alan is when he first washes up to shore. He's mocking him but holding his tongue because Saga's not going to take that nonsense from him.
You only see Casey show the full force of his anger towards Alan when Saga isn't there to stop him. To say "Yes, THAT'S the actual love story here" is a...choice, one that actively ignores the on-screen narrative. Again, fictional Casey and Alan are a completely different topic and not something I care enough to write about.
NOBODY should be attacked for liking a pairing because what does that do? What does it accomplish except make yourself feel better and superior? Again, it's been a choice to ignore the two main women in the series, which are Alice and Saga. But I've seen quite a few fics where Alice gets to be paired with CaseyWake, while you'll be hard-pressed to find a fic where Saga gets to interact with them. That tells me something that makes me uncomfortable. And that's covert racism.
You can't even make the excuse that there's nothing left to learn about Saga, because that's simply untrue. We know the bare minimum about her family on the Anderson side, and absolutely nothing concerning her father (who is Warlin Door and I will die on that hill). We don't know much about her created family, certainly nothing about David, outside of the fact he likes Bright Springs, and boardgames and doesn't take his daughter to get checked out after she hits her head in the shower. The fact her entire identity ISN'T just Logan's mother and David's wife means so much to me.
You can't tell me it's because she's married either, because how can you say that in one breath and then ship Alan with anyone but Alice in the same breath? It genuinely leads me to think it's simply that she's a BLACK woman. And as you said, seeing people create ships for Rose and to pair Estevez with CASEY, when she's an out-and-out lesbian that Casey only meets near the end of the game speaks volumes.
I genuinely think if you swapped her race, she would be less ignored, and that's extremely fucked up. Saga was created with so much love, care, and respect. A black woman protag that we could get behind and feel represented by. A smart, strong, caring badass, who still retains her femininity, but who has an identity outside of "mother" even though saving her daughter is her driving force, it's not her only one. She cares about her newly found grandfather and great-uncle. She cares about Rose, despite the woman irritating her in the beginning. She worries for the residents of the nursing home. She has mixed feelings towards the CULT. And of course, her secondary concern is Casey. And once she sees how hard Alan is trying, she comes to care for him as well. Why else tell him he's a hero when she has every right to hate him more than anyone else in the game?
She cares about these people she's met, and she knows they deserve to be saved. And Alan is the first to admit he can't do ANY of it without Saga. If the main character of the series acknowledged Saga, why can't the fandom?
I truly hope that you can find the courage to try again with Andercase, or just Saga in general. Because I'm seeing that there are people that love her, and maybe they're not content creators but consumers, and that's now one of my motivations. To feed their hunger because they're part of the fandom too, and they shouldn't be ignored. I promise you, you'll have a fan in me. And sometimes, just one person knowing they love what you create and how they look forward to it is enough. I'm not interested in a popularity contest. You'll never see me in ship wars. I'm here for FBI Special Agent Saga Anderson. This is her story too, to make her the footnote in fanworks is terribly egregious and goes against the very thing Remedy wanted.
If you ever want to ramble, my inbox is always open. If you ever have ideas you want to see in regards to fanfic for Andercase or Saga, I'm right here. Thank you so much for giving me a chance to read about your feelings for Saga and her partner. It means the world to me.

AIB Executive Board found family HC's
shout out to @bdanp, thank you for the lovely content, I wish to add my own.
Hehehe I love the idea of these fools being a dysfunctional family unit. I literally need semi-wholesome content on the beach members because otherwise I will lose it. The AIB fandom has really brought out my drive, bc I will be the change I wish to see in the fandom space. Uh, they are dysfunctional with a capital D, so this isn't entirely wholesome, but I'm writing this, so you can't be too surprised.
Today on the board; Aguni, Kuzuryuu, Mira, and Chishiya
-Aguni, Hatter, and Kuzuryuu are the father figures to the group. -Aguni and Hatter used to date but are still friends who maybe have lingering feelings. Who knows. -Aguni just fucking sighs and has to drag them around when they're being stupid, especially the militants. -Has a special soft spot for Arisu once he joins bc he's so hopeful and sweet, and he likes having a moral compass around. Arisu is also the only heart specialist who doesn't resort to murder -He's the only one Niragi listens to, which is why he's the only diamond orientated militant. -Hates the beach and everything it stands for, bc he knows it's a lie. He misses the Hatter before the beach ruined him, and his feelings for him are forever tainted. Tries not to make their history the beach's problem.
-Kuzuryuu didn't even realize he was a dad, he's just fucking there. He's the calm fatherly validation half the board craves, and he has 0 questions. -He has favorites, and it's the exec's diamond trio (Ann, Chishiya, and Niragi) -Fully supports Chishiya's tinkering hobby. Told him that if being a doctor didn't work out, then he should go into STEM. -Finds the entire beach to be a headache, but does genuinely care for the exec members. -Best friends with Mira, who's taken up the role as wine aunt. She's the one who convinced him to come check out the beach. They both help put the exec members into games they're good at.
-Mira interacts with everyone with a Gatekeep Gaslight Girlboss energy about her that freaks everyone else out. She's fully capable of making normal expressions, but chooses to smile her way through everything. -Unironically plays therapist to the exec board bc she was/is a licensed psychiatrist, and they're all so mentally fucked up. She does it in the 'I can't make you better or worse, but I can figure out what's so funky about you' kinda way. She mostly does this to Niragi and Arisu, and also maybe Hatter when he's around. -Casually threatens everyone's life subtly and offers 0 explanations. She's unironically the scariest person at the beach, bc she's so unsettling. -enjoys girls night with Ann, Kuina, and Usagi whenever she's invited, and gets her hair braided -She makes the most references to memes along with hatter, to the annoyance of literally everyone else.
-Chishiya stares in silent judgment whenever he has to fix up an injury, frequently pulls out the 'I'm just a med student' and 'i work with children' cards to get out of things. Makes jokes about just letting them die to scare them. -He wears hoodies everywhere he goes bc they're his comfort clothing item and no one comments on it. Uses big medical words in casual convo to irritate the execs. Autism creature #1, I'm right. -Hates being touched unless he initiates it or gives permission, and is very firm about this boundary. Arisu once tried to hug him and got tased. He didn't try again.
-Silent rage towards Ann for being so goddamn tall. Wears chunky sneakers to appear slightly taller (a/n no genuinely, look in the show those are 2-inch shoes) -He sees Niragi as the worst version of himself, and it honestly freaks him out sometimes. Entirely neutral on his existence most of the time, but finds bickering with him amusing. -Chishiya simply doesn't express himself like everyone else, but he does feel the normal range of human emotions. Mira mentioned him possibly being neurodivergent.
-Kuzuryuu is his dad and that's fine with him
Comeback next time for the rest, bc it's like 3 pages on my Google Docs, and that's too much for one post.

I think Crowley is much more afraid than people realize (including especially Aziraphale). Being exiled has given him about as much safety as he can hope for since no one’s looking over his shoulder anymore, but he seems to be the one person who actually sees how trapped in an unpredictable authoritarian dictatorship they are, and how easily everything can be taken away. Look at his fear when he sees Gabriel in the bookshop. Yes, because of what Gabriel had tried to do, but also because if Aziraphale gets involved, that relatively safety is in jeopardy.
Consider, his identity was forcefully remade for asking questions he wasn’t supposed to ask, he fought against this system and lost and now everyone thinks he’s the same as those who are actually malicious, he tried to show the first humans the reality of good and evil and instead doomed all of humanity, he’s has to do things that go against his own sense of justice to avoid facing even more punishment, he repeatedly hides that he does otherwise, he gets caught once acting on his own morals and gets dragged back to hell for a few decades, he helps save the world for at least a little longer and nearly gets destroyed for it…
And he does hide a lot, both his actions and his feelings. He repeatedly denies being a good person, perhaps to try to maintain the image that fits in with the other demons, and perhaps in part because going against his own internal beliefs does make him feel bad about himself. He acts cold and distant and weird to keep everyone away. His sunglasses are to hide his snake eyes, sure, but he also takes them off at rare times to express some emotions, meaning the rest of the time they are a protective mask. And when things seem really bad, what he keeps saying he wants is to go run away to space where no one will find him and he doesn't have to think about Earth and the things that hurt him. Sure it sounds romantic on the surface, but underneath, it might be hopelessness. His actions repeatedly show that he does care about people and the Earth, but he doesn’t see a way out, a way to really truly save it and himself, and so when he feels desperate, he wants to hide away with the one other person who seems to understand, and then he won’t have to think about how painful it is to care about a doomed world.
He realizes from the time they met in Eden that Aziraphale also has his own internal sense of right and wrong, and that the two of them might be unique in that aspect. That has shaped their entire relationship. He is literally the snake that encouraged Eve to gain the knowledge of good and evil, and then he spends the next 6000 years trying to show Aziraphale the same thing. And yet he also doesn’t just come out and talk about these values because he knows from experience how incredibly dangerous that knowledge is. He doesn’t even tell Aziraphale about what he’s experienced. He wants something that might be impossible: for Aziraphale to understand that his own sense of goodness is fundamentally at odds with the authoritarian “goodness” the angels claim, and yet for Aziraphale not to get hurt like he has from this awareness. Unfortunately, Crowley’s understanding comes from the harm he’s faced, leaving Aziraphale to carry on not thinking too hard about what Crowley’s experienced, still naively believing that if the right person is in charge, things will be different.
And also unfortunately, Heaven may be finally aware of all this. The coffee shop name is a play on “Give me liberty or give me death”, and Metatron, who maintains a system where liberty does not exist, asks if anyone ever asks for death instead. It doesn’t seem like a stretch to think that that he’s suggesting he knows just how trapped they are and is fully capable of exploiting the limited choices they actually have.

In regards to Sometime Dreamers
I don’t know if it will come up in the story but I am curious
do you think Death plays a role in regeneration?
and what does the TARDIS dream about?
THESE ARE SUCH GOOD QUESTIONS.
Tumblr media
So, as for Death and regeneration:
That's such a quandary, especially considering elements in the recent specials. The Doctor is wildly complicated because each new iteration is the same character while being a different person. There's a suggestion in the recent between-series specials that previous versions of the Doctor remain in some subconscious form, arguably in a pre-afterlife kind of space.
There are so many ways to approach this. But I'd say, with no potential spoilers, that Timelords, and the Doctor in particular, have an unknowing relationship with Death. Because everyone ultimately knows Death. Death is at the beginning of life AND the end, and regeneration functions as new birth, so in that sense I'd say they meet her often, though they don't consciously remember, like everyone else.
The TARDIS's dreams? Ooooooo...
This is particularly juicy considering Gaiman wrote The Doctor's Wife. So, according to the TARDIS/Idris, she was only alive while she was in that temporary body, and her existence otherwise qualifies as something else (which ties into Sandman lore, where Dream tells people who try to kill him that they can't because he isn't technically alive in a way they understand). So the first question is really whether the TARDIS dreams at all.
I would lean towards... yes. The TARDIS exists simultaneously across all of time and space, and her existence already very dream-like. But she clearly has favorite moments (and a favorite person), and while the TARDIS doesn't sleep, dreams encompass more than unconscious wanderings.
I imagine she dreams of spending more time alive, of being with her thief and speaking to him in ways she normally can't. She dreams of that singular focus. She dreams of moments. She dreams of being a thread instead of a nova and weaving through time and space with intent and lips to kiss.
I hope this answered your question! Thanks for asking such a banger!

Warning for little swearing, ooc and possible spoilers.
This is a spur of the moment fic, best described as a "what if scenario" one'd think of in the shower. Because I love my Agent and he deserves to fight the Republic in every way possible.
Bear in mind that I've never played past Coruscant of the Trooper story. So of course this fic is set on the first planet, and the spoilers refer to the end of Ord Mantell planet arc for Trooper. Oh yes, this has nothing to do with Agent's story.
aand im rambling, sorry, sorry
___________
That was it. The end. Some few minutes left to accept what they'd done.
They were no longer Republic soldiers and in less than an hour they will no longer be in Republic space.
Commander Harron Tavus battled his doubts in silence, not letting anything to show on his face. After all, there was no turning back now. The team seemed to be having a better time dealing with their choice.
Commander however.... Loyalty turned out to be a trickier bitch than he thought. And back when everything was clear his loyalties were clear. They haven't changed, not really. He had a Squad to keep alive and a Republic to serve. But if the choice was between his Havoc and some bastards issuing orders from the safety of Coruscant, he knew who came first.
If the Republic deemed the Havoc unimportant enough to just leave them to die, well, the Havoc would treat the Republic appropriately.
At least the Imperial officer was smart enough to keep his expression neutral. Had the fascist scum tried to gloat, Harron would not be held responsible for his actions.
...
The shuttle was ready to be boarded when the guards shouted. In a moment over two dozen blaster rifles were aimed squarely at the intruder's chest. Commander heard Fuse swear under their breath. He agreed with them. Walking right up to them, as if oblivious to all the weapons trained on him, was the newest addition to Havoc. Sergeant Aaden Challe had a complicated expression. He stopped right in front of Harron and Imperial officer, after making a show of looking around at everyone gathered. He pointedly let his gaze linger on the warhead stripped to the shuttle.
He was a dead man for coming here.
Harron felt cold at the realisation. He had no choice but to kill the new guy now, for there was no other way. He did prove to be quite patriotic. That was why Harron ordered him to stay at the base.
Why was he here?
"You should not be here,"
"You went silent. Base Command feared you were dead,"
It would be better if they were right.
Commander looked at Sergeant. There was steel in the other man's eyes. They both knew what had to happen.
Imperial officer seemed to miss how tense the situation was becoming:
"Deal with the intruder, Commander Tavus. We're on a tight schedule."
Soldiers around them did not lower their rifles. But this was a chance to keep the stupid boy alive. He will be in trouble afterwards but at least he would be alive.
"This has nothing to do with you. You should have stayed at base."
"You're defecting from the Republic. And what's this, a passage fee?" - Sergeant Challe nodded at the warhead. - "What, you think the Empire will welcome you just like this?"
Havoc tensed. They knew that warhead was their ticket to freedom. The Empire would not accept them otherwise, and that admiral had wanted the weapon badly enough to negotiate their future.
Harron saw Wraith inch closer to Challe, syringe ready in hand. Sedative, probably, she kind of liked the guy.
Just keep his attention on me.
"The Republic doesn't care about us. During a mission to Ando Prime, they simply left us to die. I have no intention of letting that happen again."
Challe twitched an eyebrow, as if forcing himself remain impassive.
One more step.
"You have a future with them. We made our choice."
Wraith lunged at Challe, and some of the soldiers startled. Which was a mistake because blaster shots were fired and as Harron with the rest of Havoc took cover to return fire, they barely noticed Sergeant catch the woman and pin her down, all in a fraction of a moment.
"Halt!"
In the following silence the adrenaline rush felt overwhelming.
Harron took in the situation: imperial officer stood proud while the rest took cover.
He turned to the Sergeant:
"Trooper. Surrender now or be executed."
The man in question sat still for a moment, holding Wraith's hands. Then, slowly, he let go of her, and put his hands up. The Officer motioned to his men and a pair immediately put away their weapons and rushed to the surrendered man. They confiscated his weapons and handcuffed him. Wraith stood up and walked toward the rest of Havoc.
It felt surreal to watch the Imperials herd - prisoner now- Challe into the shuttle while their officer simply watched. He then faced Harron:
"This concludes our business on Ord Mantel."
The man then gestured for the Havoc to board the shuttle. And so they did. Some of the soldiers followed them inside, and lastly the officer and his escort came in.
...
The atmosphere astonishingly was equally grim and awkward. At least, among the Havoc Squad.
Harron could see it in the others' gazes that they were.. worried. For the new guy, most likely, and what would become of him, and more importantly, what would the admiral do about the uncounted for Republic soldier.
The flight off Ord Mantell and from the system was not long. It felt like an eternity still.
...
Half an hour later and the telltale shudder of exiting hyperspace went through the shuttle. The grand finale, thought Harron, as the Imperials began preparing to disembark.
Then, their shuttle entered the docking bay of an Imperial Destroyer, and landed, and everything grew still in waiting.
The entrance opened and Harron was politely led out and onto the deck of the bigger ship. He noticed the others being led out similarly and as he took in the bay he understood why. There, in all his imperial glory stood the admiral who would accept their defection and the "passage fee". Harron stood in parade rest, about to greet the man, when behind him Sergeant was led out as well.
Harron did his best not to react as Challe was led forward, unarmed and hands bound. For such a dire situation, the younger man held himself surprisingly well.
"Release him."
What.
Harron did look around that time, but the Admiral's attention was squarely on Challe. Who was now rubbing his wrists.
"I do appreciate that, Admiral."
"Hm. We'll talk later. Adjutant, show the good man the guest cabin." - an inconspicuous man walked up and quietly instructed Challe to follow. - "Now, to tha matter of the former Havoc Squad-"
"What's going on?!" - who would- Ah, Gearbox, the one to meet and insist on the safety of their addition, was known to care about young soldiers under his command. - "Why are you taking Sergeant Challe? Where are you taking him? Wh-"
"I believe you have no authority to interrupt your superiors," - the Admiral spoke over Gearbox, sounding both annoyed and disgusted.
"Sergeant Challe is no threat, he was not supposed to even be here," - Harron tried to sound nonchalant. The situation made little sense.
"And I have no value as a prisoner nor do I possess any valuable information?" - Challe stopped half the hangar away from the group. He did not sound upset or accusatory, no, but something in his voice- "Commander Harron, are you trying to dig my grave?"
Sergeant turned to face them and those words-
He was mocking them.
Laughing at him.
"Cipher Ten, I can handle this. Thank you for your aid with the mission," - the Admiral dismissed Challe and started telling something to him but Harron heard nothing. Cipher. Cipher agent of the Imperial Intelligence. The most dreaded tool of the Empire apart from Sith. Challe was- No, no, that couldn't be.
"Is that true?" - Fuse sounded breathless, and this time Harron was certain that feeling of being hit in the gut was a shared experience. - "Were you- "
"Were you sent to spy on us? Or kill us?" - Needles finished for him. There was hate growing in his gaze, and as Harron quickly glanced at Wraith, her face too was turning into a mask.
But Challe- Cipher, Cipher Ten admiral called him, resumed his walk after the adjutant. Instead, the Admiral spoke:
"Cipher Ten was supposed to determine the validity of your promise. To ensure this defection wasn't a cowardly ruse to harm the Empire. And to make sure the warhead was not sabotaged. You understand," - Admiral then gestured for the men to follow him. - "Now, Commander Tavus, we have a lot to discuss. Let us relocate to my office."

— character info sheet.
(repost, don’t reblog)
name: Harold (Harry) Theopolis Osborn
name meaning: Harold, from old English "Army Commander"
alias/es:  Harry, Har, The Green Goblin
ethnicity: White American
one picture you like best of your chara:
Tumblr media
three h/cs you never told anyone:
Harry developed the Goblin Serum from the Lizard Serum in under three weeks, mostly in secret, and he took it when he was alone because he knew that otherwise they'd stop him. It almost killed him.
He greatly admires Peter and MJ's moral fortitude, while knowing he cannot match it. He knows his principles are not unshakable, and he knows that for most matters, he does have a price (such as for joining Oscorp and becoming yet another of his father's pawns). The only moral matter in himself that he's certain of is his own loyalty to his friends.
A part of Harry still feels somewhat bitter by the fact that his friends believed his lies about going to Europe, for all he was also very relieved about it.
three things your character likes doing in their free time:
Science. It doesn't really count because he already spends a lot of time in a lab already, but he genuinely enjoys working on personal projects.
Going to musicals. He doesn't have time to go watch as many as he'd like, but when he has the chance, he'll be there.
Playing the piano, and learning songs from the aforementioned musicals as well, and from his favorite bands.
eight seven people your character likes / loves:
Mary Jane Watson and Peter Parker: His best friends, his favorite people in the world. The people he trusts above everyone else, despite his secretiveness, and the people who inspire him the most.
Curt Connors, Harry's doctor and his mentor. Someone he values and respects deeply.
Felicia and Anya, Harry's asistant and bodyguard, and yet another will-they-won't-they couple in his life. People Harry values deeply, trusts fully in regards to his job and security, and genuinely likes working with.
Bernard, the Osborn family butler. One of the few people Harry has ever gone to for advice.
Norman Osborn, Harry's father. He loves him, and is loyal to him, but he doesn't like him a lot of the time, nor trust him, and he absolutely abhors his controlling ways. Its... complicated.
two things your character regrets:
Not having told Peter and MJ about his illness in person, and trusting his letter would get to them. He doesn't regret hiding it for so long, but he wishes he'd at least told them why he was disappearing.
In any post-reveal verse, not having talked to his friends before resorting to villainy.
two one phobias your character has:
He doesn't do well restrained or caged, and it's worse in any verse in which he's traveled the multiverse. And being contained in unfamiliar spaces is even worse for him. This also means that the easiest way to get a furious Goblin is to manage to web him up.

COD characters on a car trip/in a car
Tumblr media
Ghost
Ghost is more of a passenger than driver. Well... the team wants him to be a passenger.
When riding with him, you are not a passenger prince/princess but a survivor.
Curses at everything and everyone
“why the fuck is there someone crossing the street?” when it's actually someone walking on a crosswalk
If anyone has the guts to do remarks/suggestions about his driving, they will be left on the side of the road. Soap has learned it the hard way.
No one is able to sleep while he drives, he isn't the softest on brakes and the wheel.
Passengers glance at one another.
At least no one forgets about the safety belt
As a passenger, he is quiet and stares at the landscape. To him, everything is mesmerizing : neon lights, urban life, horses in fields.
Because of his rough childhood he hasn't experienced outside a lot and has social anxiety when he is in an unknown place with lots of people. Being in a car allows him to observe how people act/interact but with detachment from them. He is in a safe bubble.
Price
Is the dad of the group.
Has a bunch of snacks ready (peanuts, cashews, starbursts, chocolate chip cookies) and often asks the group if they are craving a sweet tooth. Same with drinks (water and a few sodas)
“does anyone want something? It's in the bag behind my seat.”
Is also the one checking for restroom breaks.
“if you wanna go to the restrooms, it's now, otherwise we won't stop until we arrive”
Of course, if any of them (especially Gaz) ask to go, he will find a way for him to go to the restrooms. Will probably grumble for a bit tho.
“I told you to go before. Damnit, we stopped 20 minutes ago. Next time, be more careful.”
If he is the one driving he will put music on to avoid any awkward silence. It won't be too loud so that if anyone wants to start a conversation/speak they can totally be heard. It's more of a backgound music.
Listens to radio mostly.
Has quite some difficulties to link his phone to the bluetooth but when he manages to do it, he will try to put on some music that everyone can enjoy.
Nothing too extreme, some classics (Queen, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC)
If he feels like it, he will hum at the tune.
“if you want to, you can change the music?”
Always tries his best to please everyone.
Soap
Always jumps on the opportunity to put music on
suggests playing all sorts of games :
-punch buggy
-I spy something with my little eyes that starts with the letter...
-truth or dare
-would you rather...
Name them, he knows them all
The car can quickly turn into karaoke.
Knows starship by Nicky Minaj and I knew you were Trouble by Taylor Swift a bit too well
His favorite karaoke buddy is Gaz. Will sing any song with him.
The team once came back from a bar and they both sang 7 rings by Ariana Grande. They denied it once they were sober but Valeria has a video. She often uses it as a threat to get Soap to stand by her side.
He is not a terrible driver but not the best either. He doesn't particulary like driving a car, except sports car. Has a weak spot for any Aston Martin car (DB 11 owns his heart).
When he has free time he actually enjoys going on circuit with Alejandro to see who is the fastest. Ghost once gave him a side eye when he said he had reached 200 km/hour on circuit.
Soap told him “you can't understand, it's a man thing”. Ghost didn't talk to him for 5 days.
If he is really bored, he will draw ; a street the car went by, one of the car passengers, or anything that has caught his attention.
König
Sleeps like a baby in a car. The car movments soothes him.
Asks if he can have the passenger seat to have more space for his legs.
Prefers big cars because of his size.
If he's at the back, he will try to get as small as he can. Is afraid of crunching others when the car turns.
He will gladly listens to others talking, but won't speak much. Not that he doesn't want to, but he is afraid to speak too much and bother others.
If jokes are made, he will let out a muffled laugh here and there or a
“good one”, “funny”
Gazes at the landscape. He loves nature and takes time to appreciate its beauty.
When he drives, he is rather focused. Others may talk to him but he won't respond much. He wants to be at his full capacities to make sure no car crash will happen.
He is afraid that he may cause a car crash and for others to get injured.
Alejandro
Can either be the best or the worst passenger. It all depends on who is driving.
If Valeria drives and he is on the passenger seat, everyone is scared. They will spend their time arguing with one another about the best road to follow, the speed limit, the next stop... ANYTHING.
If Soap is in the mood to have fun (getting murdered) he drops something like “pfewww... the sexual tension here is unbearable”.
He once took the wheel to take an exit on the highway from Valeria's hands, almost causing the car to roll over. Eversince, he is forbidden to seat next to her when she drives.
“puta madre, no sabe conducir y soy el cupable”
(“fucking hell, she doesn't know how to drive and I am the one blamed”)
However, they still argue even though he's at the back of the car. In fact, he could be in the trunk and he would criticize her driving skills.
If he is on the passenger seat when another member of the team drives, he will help them with the directions and ask if they need a break when he feels like they've been driving for long enough
“hey, you've already been driving for 3 hours, do you want me to drive?”
Does it in a very protective way. He doesn't want others to get too tired (except Valeria)
He drives rather calmly but if something/someone has irritated him, it's another Alejandro. He can sometimes be driven by his urges.
Valeria
What if she caused an accident and Alejandro unfortunately died? The thought has already crossed her mind a few times.
She is actually a good driver.
But the team is always afraid her temper gets out of control when she is behind the wheel. Especially when Alejandro is in the car.
What if she ran over Alejandro?
There is a deep hatred (love) between the two and insults in Spanish have become the new norm.
Soap and Farah have been trying to learn what they say and often quote Valeria or Alejandro
“puta madre” (motherfucker)
“pendejo” (dumbass)
“pinche pendejo” (fucking asshole)
When Valeria is a passenger, she enjoys scaring kids when the car stops at a traffic light.
If she is in the mood she will play some of Soap's game. Especially would you rather and truth or dare.
“would you rather get your two ankles broken or stabbed in the chest?”
“Alejandro, I dare you to get out of the car and come back to the base by yourself”
“Soap, is it true that you're a virgin?”
She knows how to push everyone's buttons
She is also able to read a book while the car is moving without being sick.
Her favorite books are cien anos de soledad by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Misery by S. King.
Gaz
Is chilling on his phone as long as he doesn't feel sick when reading while the car moves.
Has a portable screen that he attaches to the headrest in front of him to watch a movie/series. It was Price who gave him as a christmas present
“you said you were bored during car rides, so I thought maybe you would like a screen to watch movies?”
König or Price will sometimes watch a movie/series with him.
Also enjoys listening to music. Has bluetooth headphones he connects to his phone. It allows him to be in his own bubble, and not having to listen to Soap bullshit all along.
He listens to Green day, Oasis, Queen. His guilty pleasure is listening to Harry Styles watermelon sugar
Has renamed Soap “Donkey” in reference to the Donkey in Shrek, constantly annoying everyone during car trips.
If he is the one driving, you will be a passenger prince/princess. He drives well, respecting the speed limits and road safety rules in general. Well, he respects them when Price is there.
When Price is nowhere in sight he will tend to go a bit over the speed limit and park in places he souldn't (family parking spaces, in streets, in front of people's doorway).
Graves
Skilled driver. Enjoys driving big cars.
Hates with passion manual cars
“why the hell can't everyone drive automatic cars?”
Cannot drive without music. Listens to Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton and knows their songs by heart. He will not necessary sing them out loud but will think about them.
Country is the greatest music style to him, and if someone dare to contredict him, a whole debate could go on for hours.
As a passenger, enjoys kicking the seat in front of him, espeially if it's Ghost or Soap on it.
“It's not me. It's the car moving.”
He prefers taking his shoes off if the trip is quite long.
Needs a coffee break every hour.
If he has a chewing gum, he will chew it as loud as he can and wait to see how long it will take for someone to tell him something about it.
Hates the smell of fuel. It makes him gag. Whenever they have to stop to get fuel, he gets out of the car, goes in the shop and wait until the car comes pick him up once it's done.

The Perilous Trail quest is to date my favorite Genshin Impact quest. Not only is it a great continuation of Xiao's character arc but it also utilizes the characters present in the quest really effectively. Everyone has a reason for being there and everyone does something important in this quest that only they could do — except perhaps Paimon, but Paimon's just there for every quest so that's not exactly new.
Xiao is the main focus of this quest. We get some of his backstory with the Yaksha and Bosacius and we get some insight into his personality and thought process. We see him forced to work with other people, many of whom he's never met before, and how ready he is to sacrifice himself so that everyone else can escape. We see how stuck he is in his mindset that he can never lead a normal life and his only options are either to fight to protect everyone or die trying. And no matter how much everyone tries to convince him otherwise, in the end he can't break himself out of the habits he's acquired over centuries.
Yelan is the antithesis to Xiao in this quest. She's someone who has had people die for her on the battlefield before and she doesn't want to experience that again. She's the one who understands how much dying for others messed up the people you're dying for mentally. She refuses to let even Xiao, whom she's just met, die for their sake, which leads to the biggest conflict in the quest between those two. These two are the main characters of this quest, which is kind of made obvious in how they're the ones to power the compass later on.
The traveler is the one who actually knows Xiao and it is through his desire to find Xiao and help him that they're able to locate Xiao in this chaotic dungeon. The traveler is also Xiao's main tether to the group; even if Xiao is not the type to abandon people in need, the traveler is the only one amongst them who can get through to him. We also get to see the traveler's deepest fear: the abyss that took away their sibling. If the traveler was treated as more their own character instead of forcing them into the "generic main character the player can project onto" box, this would be a great character defining moment; sadly, though, it doesn't get much follow-up in the later quests due to how the narrative treats the traveler's character.
Yanfei is the only other adeptus in the group other than Xiao. Thus, she's able to understand chaotic nature of the subspace better than the others and it is only through her that they're able to figure out a way to locate Xiao in the first place. Not to mention, her and Year's connection to the Fantastic Compass also becomes really important at the bed of the quest.
Shinobu is the one keeping them all alive here with her survival skills. Reminding them to eat and drink and stuff in a subspace that can diminish hunger but still kill you from starvation. Not to mention, she's the voice of reason for Itto, which is basically a job in its own.
Itto is the heart of this group. He's the one not losing hope and not letting others lose hope either. In a subspace that operates based on your desires, it is Itto's hatred for any conflict between his friends that helps him create a pathway for everyone to end Xiao and Yelan's argument about whether escaping is worth it if one of them dies in the process. This is something only Itto could have done, with the strength of an Oni and a strong desire to end this argument that helps him destroy a portion of the space in the same way as the traveler is able to find Xiao due to their desire to find him. Not to mention, without this path, they would never have been able to find the compass and escape.
Every character has their own role to play in this and if even one of them was missing, things would have ended very differently for the cast.
