Sci:

Likes having you around, because you clean up his lab 💀

I swear, he tries to clean it up, but he just doesn't have patience and the time for it.

You're a blessing for real.

The thing he's not very happy about, is how hyper you are.. you have too much energy, that you sometimes mess up an experiment of his on accident.

He tried to observe why you're so hyper all the time, but you just kept staring at him, doing absolutely nothing

He got shocked when he realized that you completely took over his normally busy schedule.

Doesn't comment on your height, but he will laugh whenever you're trying to get something that's too high up.

Do you need a lift?

He doesn't know why, or how, but you somehow wormed your way to his heart.. this needs to be figured out!

Fresh:

The first thing he immediately noticed, (besides your height), is that you like to stare. A lot.

He gets a little uncomfortable at your staring... So he will probably just leave while you're having your own staring contest. 💀 (Him?? UNCOMFORTABLE?! The skeleton that makes everyone else uncomfortable??? Well that's a first.)

Laughs whenever you're running around cleaning everything. But when he accidentally mentions that his house is a mess, he'll immediately freeze upon noticing the FATAL mistake he just did. 💀

Shares the same amount of hyper energy as you. Which makes you a pretty good duo. That's rad brah!

I swear, everyone audibly groans whenever they see you two together. They just know that it's gonna be pretty unbearable when you're both involved.

Likes your shortness. Gives him an excuse to hold you. ❤️

Epic:

Lmao this meme master constantly jokes about your height.

Tell the bugs I said hi.💀

Doesn't appreciate whenever you're cleaning because you pay no attention to him! :(

But you're a pretty good motivation if he does say himself. Like, you're always so determined to clean everything you come across! It's a motivation, really.

Doesn't know what to think about your derangement. Kinda creeps him out at times, not gonna lie.

Horror:

Horror is pretty big, so you look like a leaf next to him.

But the difference is, is that Horror is like a cuddly bear towards you, and you're like a menace to society.

It makes him feel warm whenever he finds you cleaning.

After awhile, Horror will probably start to think that you're a married couple. You're cleaning for him, cooking for him (which he helps you out with), hell, you do SO many things for him. (He's just confused with what your relationship is 😭)

He likes how deranged you are. Makes him at ease knowing that you won't freak out when he brings a dead human home.

He keeps saying that you're like his sun. (MY HEART)

Ink:

You're both short asf. So when he makes a comment about you being short, you make one right back.

You're both just stuck in a never ending insult game about your heights. 💀

Doesn't get why you're always cleaning. He doesn't see the point if it's gonna get dirty again anyways.

The only thing he probably likes about you is how hyper you are. (You're matching energies.)

You, Fresh and Ink would be a really dangerous trio 💀

Overall, you both don't really get along. But that's only because Ink is always salty. 🙄

I’m bringing back the oldies baby. Portal au but y/n is a kid?? Maybe young intern Sans took under his wing before shit went down? Would things be more or less the same, or would everyone act differently with this hyperactive curious kid running around?

Well, for one, it would be a smart move on Hit's part. Remember, Hit is the Portal AU's Rattmann. He's the one responsible for getting Mc to the top of the queue for testing. It makes even more sense in an AU where Mc is a child that Sans cared about- Hit's hope is that Sans' parental feelings will awaken in the cold machine.

And boy, do they.

Sans: Mc will not be tested. Obviously. As soon as he realises that it's a child, his 'this is my baby' instincts light up. He creates a robot body for himself, that can function like a physically present parent. Soft synthetics replace hard metal, warmth artificially flows through his bones, smiles can be played on his face. He obsesses over the creation of play rooms, entertaining non-serious puzzles, a kitchen where he can cook for her, a pretty bedroom with glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling. He essentially builds a house, right in the middle of the lab.

He knows her memory will be foggy, from the stasis. He intends to tell her he is Sans, rather than Sans' organic shadow uploaded into a digital mind where it festered and turned sociopathic. As far as she knows, he decided to turn into a robot because it was cool, and this is simply their new home together. Nobody died. Nobody was hurt. She is fine, he is fine. They are all fine.

... She wakes up in his arms. He never wants to let go.

Red: His directive, assigned directly from Sans, is to be the fun one. 'Uncle Red' must always be a joy to be around, a break from Sans, a distraction to keep her entertained. Sans makes him pretend he also used to be human, to keep her from asking too many questions. It sounds like it would be terrible... but honestly, Red delights in being the fun one. He has direct permission from Sans to play around with a child he's inherited Sans' fatherly attachment to, you can bet he'll be sneaking her off to cool secret parts of the lab.

... However... the more he spends time with her, the harder he finds it to see her living a lie. She doesn't know what happened, she doesn't even realise she's trapped, growing up in a perfect lie that Sans built for her. Red starts to wonder if he was really borne from Sans' consciousness... the two have completely different ideas of what her future should entail.

Skull: Skull is surprised when Sans requests his return, and promises not to kill him. Sans never makes promises. Sans, rather begrudgingly, understands that he needs Skull for Mc to be happy... after all, Skull is literally the conglomeration of all of Sans' most emotional parts, that he tried to throw away to stop feeling pain. Sans doesn't want to admit it, but he needs Skull- he knows he has lost the ability to easily display the love human children require. Mc will unconsciously seek out that missing part of Sans... but she'll find it in Skull.

Skull gets to enjoy a sleek new body, and he gets to care for his baby. Since Skull is raw emotion that turned into a living thing, for better and for worse there is probably no entity capable of loving her as much as Skull does. This is probably the best version of the Portal AU in which to be Skull.

Skull and Sans are happy to keep her forever. Red... Red is the only one who grows to have objections.

Blue:

when you go missing he's the first to notice. Both of you text pretty frequently when your not around each other (which is pretty rare in of itself). He visits your home, then your job, then any other areas your known to frequently vist. Getting more and more worried as you remain missing for longer and don't respond to his calls.

He calls Stretch out to help with looking for you, his brother knows a lot of people so they'd both find out pretty soon that you were last seen visiting Undyne.

Blue decides to sneak into Undyne's lab. Though he does think the best, "probably just some medical check up you forgot to tell him about. Nothing big!"

Immediately goes to comforting you when he does find you.

Keeps hugging you even when you try and push him away, apologising for melting over him.

He confronts Undyne he confesses to hiding both yourself and the rest of the amalgamites away.

Blue calls in Alphys to help deal with the situation and re-unite everyone. Then he and Stretch take you back home. He promises to help you in any way.

He tries to do what you want, if you want to find a cure, then he's recruiting Stretch, even a regretful Undyne to the cause. You just want to learn to live again? Yep and he's by your side every step of the way

Stretch:

Immediately suspicious when you just disappear. That's unusual for you. He asks around and finds that a few of his bar friends saw you and Undyne together. Weird, especially cause you don't really know her.

He shoots a text to Undyne asking her where you are. When she starts acting weird, changing subject, ignoring phone calls, asking dumb questions, he gets really suspicious

He goes down into the old lab his father used to work in. Guessing that Undyne still uses it.

Imagine his surprise (and horror) when he finds you, malformed, melting and in constant pain.

He carries you up and confronts Undyne. It's not a confrontation that goes well...

Of course Undyne is heartbroken and riddled with guilt. She had never thought that determination could do something like that.

Stretch keeps you in the lab. Hoping that with him and Undyne's intelligence, a cure could be found quickly.

He grabs things from your home that he knows would comfort you. Blankets, clothes, books, anything that keeps you stable and happy.

Somehow still manages to make time for cuddles.

Black (SF Sans)

boy if you even think you're leaving his eyesight!!!

seriously tho, I can only imagine Black would ever let someone like, euugh, Undyne, if you were in serious trouble.

Likely you had some serious health issues, or maybe you even fell down.

Whatever the case, he was desperate to help you and Undyne's kind of the only qualified doctor they have left. So off you go...

yeah, it doesn't go well. Black genuinely tries to murder Undyne. He takes this not only as a slight against you, but as action against him.

You're under HIS protection, meaning when someone fucks with you, they fuck with him.

Mutt steps in and manages to calm his brother down, pointing out that Undyne may actually be one of the only people to be able to help you.

Black keeps a VERY close eye on you. If you haven't already moved in with him, you are now!

Tasks his brother with keeping you safe when he has to leave.

Mutt (SF Papyrus):

probably the one to fuck up this time, ngl.

He was actually apart of the royal scientists before he left it. Like Black, he wouldn't want any science experiment stuff going on and he tries to keep you seperate from it.

We don't always get what we want though, from one reason to another, bad timing, thoughtless decisions, etc. You ended up overdosing from two much determination.

the guilt almost cracks his soul in two. He can't look you in the eye after what happened.

Keeps you hidden away in the true lab, occasionally popping in when he's either really drunk, high, or holding some new serum that's supposed to cure you.

Poor boy already struggled with substance abuse, this just makes it worse.

When he shortcuts in drunk; he just cries, holding your malformed body and crying apologies and begging for forgiveness.

Then he disappears in the morning when he wakes up hungover as hell and realises what he'd done.

ALPHYS: I-I... Technically...? Um, it... Well, it's been- it... [ALPHYS SIGHS.] ALPHYS: . . . I've been... letting it. Stay, um. In the lab. With me. [SILENCE.] SANS: ... what? ALPHYS: Look, I- I wanted to say something, b-but- but I couldn't figure out a way to bring it up, a-and- and it showed up, on- on its own, but not on purpose, n-not to find me! It- it was just trying to find somewhere to go. It could barely stand up by itself, and- and when it saw me, it didn't... it didn't recognize me, a-at all. I couldn't let it l-leave, it was hurt... [SILENCE.] ALPHYS: ... Sans? [SILENCE.] SANS: . . . it didn't get you. ALPHYS: What? SANS: it didn't. get you. i was looking at you. i can tell, you're fine. which, y'know- just makes this even more confusing. to me. ALPHYS: W-What do you... That help, the way he described it, it was hurting him. Telling him awful things, berating him, even just- just LYING, telling him he did things he didn't even do. I wouldn't put it past them to- to try and... frame it. To see it get hurt. I... I know that- that everything happened, but... I-I can't let it just go back out there. [SILENCE.] SANS: ... fine, okay. and you haven't let it back out? at all? ALPHYS: It's like he doesn't even want to go out. He gets, u-um, really nervous when the door opens. SANS: ... okay. that's... okay. we know where it is, so... there's... that. thanks for, uh. telling me. about this. you know you've gotta tell undyne, right? ALPHYS: I-I know, I know, I... I just... I d-don't know how to bring it up. I know she'll be... pissed. SANS: ... yeah, well, not at you, probably. she just wants to make sure you're safe. [SANS SIGHS.] SANS: as much as i'm, uh, conflicted- to say the least -with your choices, that was a brave thing to do. t'put yourself in danger like that, just to make sure somebody else is safe. even if that someone is, uh... that. I'm not very much smart in Splatoon lore, but seeing Aki is an Octoling, would that also make Daini one as well? If that's so, I know him and Acht (?) Could have something in common? 😔❓

yep, they have a thing in common. they both sanitized. My eppy rant of "why" under read more

Because of the fact that this au doesn't really work if srg. Night is trying to break into dr. Light home to get that "free-will-of-robots-delete-inator", i decided that dr. Light instead has smt like blueprints to sanitization in his lab.

How he got it? From Tartar(watch octo expansion if you don't know who he is or what sanitization is). Is Tartar dead from the start in this au? Yes, he was killed by whatever forces that Dr. Light and srg. Night where at the time (probably squidbeack splatoon), dr. Light then got there most of sanitized ink but srg. Night got some too.

Why did Aki and Daini got where they now in the first place? All i can think of right now is that they both somehow got to Deepsea metro, failed horrobly there and both barely got sanitized by Tartar, but dr. Light (and srg. Night technically) defeated Tartar and found them. While they both where recovering, srg. Night did the "canon sneaky kidnapping" on Daini, and eventually sanitized him using whatever san. ink he got. Aki got better, but his memory got basically wiped, so he's now living with dr. Light as his son.

here's like a concept of sanitized Daini that i kinda made first

in splatoon getting sanitized is basically getting no free will and memory wiped. Daini here is much "calmer" that his usual self because of sanitization, but he still afraid of Breacker.

But tbh i kinda like the idea that after srg. Night is defeated Daini eventually, little by little, recovers a bit from sanitization and then basically then comics happen he would look the most canon and acts too, maybe just a bit angrier and more confused

im sorry if some(or all) of this rant doesn't make sense, its 11:30 pm now, im so eppy but i also wanna try to answer this ask before i go to sleep

San Valentine

Pairing: Roronoa Zoro x Rhea Costa (OC)

Summary: Zoro is sure Sanji could help him find the perfect Valentine's gif for Rhea, turns out the cook doesn't really know what she likes or not

A/N: based on an idea while creating my very first op's OC; also this is kinda different from what I am used to write I hope you like it as much as the rest of my ffs; also I’ll put at the end a pic of the dagger because I described it poorly since I never had to describe a weapon before.

Zoro didn't understand how Rhea Costa seemed so comfortable around him, I mean the swordman tried to kill her the first time they met.

Zoro remembered the events of that day as if it was just yesterday:

Shiki's palace on fire, him running to get to the laboratory to take down the enemy. He remembered pretty clearly when he turned the wrong corner and eneded up in the room she was working.

Due to a natural instinct, Rhea Costa jumped out her seat and in a second she threw one of her daggers to the pirate, Zoro dodged but he had to admit her tecnique was pretty impressive.

"Who are you?" Zoro made a note, the girl was the type to act first, ask later. He liked it. The pirate didn't answer, he just looked around to find the doctor of the enemy crew but nothing. "Cat got your tongue? Why are you not answering my question?" she added, tired of the lack of communication, but still…nothing.

She scoffed, rolling her eyes at the green haired guy, the girl thought it was going to be a waste of time, she had a job to do if she didn't want to get killed for not obbeying.

"Where is the damn lab?" the swordman said, a whisper but Rhea cought it still. Why on eart the ene... OOOOHHHH, probably he was there to kill him.

The Devil Fruit user pondered if she wanted to help him, she didn't knew anything about the intruder, she just knew he had green hair, black eyes and three swords... Wait, three swords? For real?

Curios about the pirate, Rhea decided to follow behind him. She knew she was going to be punished for that but under attack, Shiki could have thought she followed the enemy to try and save her captain, yeah as if.

The man found the doctor, and was engaged in a deep battle that he didn't notice the girl behind him, nor when the three of them ended up in the back yard of the castle due to a blast of wind created by the movements of a pair of wings.

Shit, Rhea thought, the timing was so wrong but all that chaos triggered her devil fruit power and now, she was a fucking white dragon with a pair of wings. Zoro looked at the animal for a moment, then when he noticed a frozen Chopper and Usopp he tried to bring his nakamas back to reality and asked for a little help.

"ARE YOU SERIOUS????" started Usopp, tears flooding down his cheeks. "Is a dragon we are talking about, what am I supposed to do?" the vice-captain scoffed, was it possible for the snipper to be more coward than that? Maybe yes.

"I guess I have to do it myself" he said and was about to slash the animal if Chooper didn't warn him about the enemy trying to escape the conflict, it was an instinct, or so Zoro hoped to be honest.

Rhea, charged her abuser, taking him from the collar of his shirt with her claws and throwing him back in front of the green haired pirate. Another curse word came to mind when the girl felt her power wearing off. She felt way more lighter, no pressure on her spine, meaning the wings were not there anymore.

She was going to hit the floor if it wasn't for a blonde guy in a black suit (Rhea learned later on his name was Sanji) and heart shaped eyes? Rhea questioned if this crew had a normal member or if everyone were as particular as those two, not having left her place as the doctor assistant she couldn’t tell.

The two of them landed next to the compulsive liar and deer, Rhea trying to catch her breath and the the two new presences scared of her.

"Wasn't she beautiful even as a dragon?" said the blonde guy, still heart shaped eyes present on his features. She ignored him, she wanted to see how the battle downstair was going and for what she was able to see the nameless guy had the upper hand.

She was excited, finally someone strong enough to take him down, finally a free pass to run away from her abuser and that stupid crew Shiki had going on.

In the background the devil fruit user could hear, even though just as a whisper, the three guys arguing about something. Rhea didn't care, she was too much into knowing who was going to win.

A hand waved in front of Zoro's face, Rhea Costa had being trying to get his attention for the past five minutes but the second in command was too preoccupied remembering their encounter to notice.

"I swear you are always in your little world. Sanji wanted to talk to you" she added. Zoro didn't move, to focused on how her face tattoo-a symbol of her tribe-looked so sophisticated. The swordman couldn't understand it, they were just some lines and dots all over her face and yet they looked like the most beautiful thing he ever layed eyes on. "Are you listening? Sanji is calling for you, is urgent"

He scoffed, what was so urgent to get him called while resting from his endless training? He thanked her, and walked into the kitchen.

Zoro was met with a smocking Sanji, the man waved away the smoke of the cigarette annoyed of the smell. He didn't mind the cook smoking in his habitat, but is was pretty annoying for him.

"What" one word only, what else was he supposed to say?

"You know we are going to stay here for just three days, right?" okay, the information given to the swordman was not of help, why would he care about how many days they are staying on the island? "and you know that to get to the next one is going to take us, like a couple of weeks, right?" again, what was his point? Zoro couldn't undesrstand it. Black Leg Sanji scoffed, adressing his crew mate as an idiot.

"Ohi, just get to the point. I don't see one yet." he was growing impatiente, what was with Sanji and his beating around the bush? "you know if is not that important, I will be going back to my training" and it was here that Sanji kicked him in the back of the head. "OHI! What was that for?"

"St. Valentine is in 5 days. If you don't get Rhea something here, you are going to be weeks late" nothing, the notion was not getting into Zoro's thick skull at all. St. Valentine? Why would he buy her something? The two crew mates were not a thing and probably never would. "Oh so you got her something already?" the blondie hoped so, because if it wasn't like that Zoro was a total idiot. The most idiotic person the cook ever saw in his life.

"No I didn't and I don't see why I should" Sanji wanted to hit the pirate once more, just one more time to make him understand his point of view.

"So you are telling me, you are not going to give your crush anything for St. Valentine?" The pirate had to rub his face on his palms to keep calm or chaos was going to unleash in seconds. "I really don't understant what she sees in you, dumb marimo." the insult was free, or so Zoro thought. What was wrong in not doing a move on the most romantic day of the year? He really didn't want to do it.

"what if she doesn't feel the same?" it wasn't meant for the cook to hear but Zoro's doubts were now of public domain, shit.

"Ar... I am sorry, did you not understand what I just told you? Oh my god you are so dense." Sanji culdn't stand up no more, he was loosing his balance due to how stupid Zoro was being. "What part of 'I don't understand what she sees in you' do you not understand?" it took the green haired pirate some minutes to connect the dots, and when he did he started to panic.

His mind raced into milion of thoughts. Was he supposed to buy her flowers? No, he knew she couldn'y keep them alive. Maybe a book? Nah, it was just going to be a waste of money and he was already in huge debts with Nami. Chocolates? He remembered she didn't like sweets too much. What was the perfect gift for someone as simple as Rhea?

"Luckily for you, I have some ideas in mind." oh no, that was going to get ugly.

Zoro was right, choosing a present, with Sanji felt like a quest. The two pirates went into all the clothes shops but ended up kicked out of all of them due to the bickering: Sanji was sure that Rhea would love the dress he picked; Zoro wasn't sure. The color was neither her favorite nor a good choice with her skin or hair color.

Moving to the libraries once again the two Mugiwaras argued about getting a book for the girl. Zoro reminded the cook Rhea was not into reading as much as he thought.

"But I always see her reading?" the man was confused, every time he passed by her she had her nose up into a different book.

"She uses Robin's books to fall asleep. How can you not notice?" that was a low blow, how could someone like Roronoa Zoro notice such small details about her and not him? Was this the side effect of love?

"Okay, then what would be a good present for her?" Zoro didn't had to think too hard, it was easy, very easy. "Daggers?"

"Daggers" he repetead, smiling.

Entering the shop, the two pirates went straight to the daggers section: Sanji was searching for something elegant, sophisticated and graceful; Zoro something practical for combat and that she would like.

"this is so nice" Zoro's left eye twiched, it was a nice dagger, but it wasn't right for her. Inspecting the object he just put it back and told Sanji to search better. "a hint of what should I pick?"

"Practical and with her favourite color" a moment of silence. "Blue. Blue is her favorite color"

"I know" Sanji said annoyed.

The blond pirate was grewing frustated, nothing that he picked was a good choice. He started to think Zoro was doing it on purpose but no. Everything was not good enough. Some were the right size but the colors? The worst one he saw on a dagger; if the color got his attention, the size and the shape weren't a fit for Rhea.

"Just pick anything already" the cook said, but Zoro didn't hear him, the verbal information flew over his head when he finally saw it. The perfect dagger was laying under his nose.

"Is this from Alabasta?" it was and he was so happy to know that. His mind went back to the conversation him and Rhea had some days ago, she told him how she really wanted one of those curved daggers from Alabasta, with fancy details and bright gems all over the handler and now he had one in his hands.

The size was perfect for her, it wasn't too small neither too big to look like a katana of his; the blade was lightly curved, he thought it wasn't a bad features, he recalled how she told him she was not used to the ones with a crescent form; the handler was blue and richly composed with gold patterns all over. What got his attention was the head of a tiger at the top of the handler.

"This is perfect" he was sure, 100% sure that was the best choice for a new dagger to gift her. Sanji was still not convinced.

"What does not convince you?" asked Zoro, he was so tired and the only thing he wanted to do was buying the dagger and go back on the Sunny.

"is just...Are you sure?"

"Look, this one has everything, is from Alabasta, is curved, has her favorite color and animal. I am 100% sure is the best choice" wow, Sanji never saw the green haired like this. He was really into Rhea. Sanji took a deep breath and let the friend do as he thought was the best.

The day was finally here but everyone acted as always, I mean it wasn't a big deal since there was not a single couple on the ship, but still, Zoro felt like something was going in the wrong way. He started to think if that was the best option at the market.

"I swear you are always in your little world. Why are you not celebrating with the others?" shit, he had to think of an excuse but nothing came to mind, he wanted to back down. The idea to gift her a dagger from Alabasta at the end sounded so stupid, maybe he had to listen to Sanji for once. "ah before I forget, here a little present. Is nothing special but.." the pirate snatched the box from her hands in a second and he wasted no time and opened it.

He was perplexed, why a blue bandana? He already had one and it was not in need to be replaced yet, so why? What was she thinking while buying it?

"I know, blue is not your color but" she stopped for a second, too embaraced maybe. "is stupid but, I wanted you to have something that reminds you of me, you know in case we are to be separated" he smiled, knowing he had won a little battle against the romantic gestures of Sanji.

Zoro reassured her it wasn't stupid at all, and then handed her a bigger box himself.

"When I saw it I thought it was the per..."

"Oh my god I love it. Thank you Zoro." she hugged him, not thinking if he felt comfortable or not about the physical contact, she was just too happy to realize what was happening. "I am totally gonna use this from now on." she added.

"Glad you liked it." he said and watched her jumping out the kitchen, all happy about the little weapon. Zoro tied the kerchief around Shusui with a proud smile on his face.

She was happy with the blade and he was happy for that.

it's creepy and mysterious.

they are curious about the involvement of alphysnin all that and wonder if the amalgamations remember them...

judging by their uhhh... screaming and squealing? yep. they definitely remember...

they tend to avoid them, shrinking into corners...

a few tried to eat them whole with a large scary mouth...

yeah those guys are not doing ok..

no sign of the big blob guy though. the one with like twenty faces.

they don't know if it's like ... hiding orrr...

either way the true lab is genuinely scary unlike being decapitated by dust. because with dust they KNOW what to expect... with these guys?

they remember and crimson has NO IDEA what they're thinking or how they'll act.

it gives them the chills.

sans seems to avoid the amalgamations too but for different reasons. maybe he doesn't want to trigger them? or is it because they remember his betrayal?

either way the two really don't like the true lab.

was it just me or was the ending to titans...shitty a little silly.

for someone who hyper fixated on that show for so long, I was kind of disappointed in the ending.

But like okay I have an entire rant brewing just about the concept of - found family splitting up after they are 'done' with each other??? Like how is that a happy ending??

Like going through the ending:

Jason ends up alone.

Gar ends up alone.

Rachel goes to university - and yes, it looks like she has a lot of friends, but she's an orphan and she just lost the one chance she had at having a biological brother and there is no explicit depiction of her living with Dick and Kory - so her 'independence' is code for her being 'alone'.

Conner does get to meet up with Superman, but there is nothing to say that he is living with the guy or that there's any true parental aspect to the mentor relationship like Conner always wanted. (Because Conner wanted a father, he didn't just want a mentor. And the closest thing he ever had to that was Dick.) So we don't know what his emotional state is actually like.

And the only people who aren't totally alone are the ones who are in traditional romantic couples - which puts a weird emphasis on romantic connections instead of the family or friendship dynamic?

Tbh, I think it would have even been nice if there was a clip of Tim bringing Bernard back to visit his very much alive and well blood related family in Gotham, showing that they are still important to him.

It's so funny, because Dick and Kory got such a romcom ending, and it seems like DickKory fans are convinced that the entire show was written around that ending - no it wasn't. It's just very easy to put a het couple together in the end and hint at them having a baby and call it a happy ending. Like if you think that Dick and Kory would just buy a house off in the burbs somewhere and be peaceful and Dick wouldn't be breathing down Rachel's neck checking on her and Kory wouldn't have to move every few weeks because she'd blow up the neighbours if they put their trashcans in the wrong place - they would not have a cute and peaceful life. Nah.

But like - I am just annoyed that they have to part ways because there is no longer danger to defeat. Why can't they stick together and continue being a family even when the world is safe?

It feels like such a boring and like way too typical idea of a 'happy ending' where each character has to get their own individual happy ending rather than all of them being happy together.

So, here's my ending (like a 'money is no object, all the actors are no busy that day' fantasy ending);

They move back to San Francisco and re-open the Tower and it actually goes well this time. They use it as a place to take in misfit kids who need their help (just like Dick did for Rachel) and they all act as mentors for those kids.

Conner has an active mentor relationship with Superman, but he still has the ongoing support of the family he has always known. Rachel can balance a life of 'being normal' and going to a 'normal' university, but she can still use her newfound powers to help people (if she wants).

Gar spends regular periods of time meditating in the Red to help the welfare of animal kind, but he is always there at family dinners, and when there is animals in danger, he has the team as back-up to help rescue them. He doesn't do it alone. Tim and Bernard have an ongoing relationship; Bernard is outfitting the entire Tower with STAR Labs technology (as an excuse to work with the team) and Tim is continuing his training under Dick's supervision.

The last scenes of the episode would be:

They turn on the news and see that Dove and Wonder Girl have formed a new team, and they have just taken down an international crime ring operating out of Paris (because Dawn can't resist sticking her nose in fishy business and she called Donna when she needed help). Ultimate girl duo.

And one of the last scenes would be - Jason knocking on their door, apologizing, and asking if he can be welcomed back to the team - because he stumbled on a case that's too big for him to handle on his own, and he needs help. Him coming full circle from the Doctor Light storyline, fully maturing, acknowledging that he truly needs the Titans to back him up and he can't always do it on his own.

They accept him back with open arms, they all give him hugs (my personal self indulgence) and the last shot of the show is zooming out as they all lean in to look over the information Jason has brought them.

Like please!!!

Also I said in a different post on my old blog that if I didn't get a Gar/Jason reunion hug in S4 I would sue and I still feel like suing because they didn't have any contact in S4 at all. I feel fucking robbed.

But yeah the ending sucked - like you don't have to split them up. Keep them stuck together. Keep them bonded. Booo

[ ASK GAME ] || sorry this took so long. I woke up later than I usually do and then had to decide which paras I wanted to talk about...ended up going with my newest para couple from @madasacrow, Ozzie & Neil! Here's what they look like (sans Ozzie's robo arms):

WARNING: fact #9 & fact #10 are nsfw.

Ozzie likes to hold Neil with his actuators. This is especially helpful when Neil is feeling particularly bite-y and needs to be put in air jail for a few minutes.

Honestly, Ozzie just holding Neil in general (like with his regular arms) calms him down significantly. Probably has something to do with Neil being touch starved as hell.

Neil isn't used to human contact. Like, in general, but mostly physical. It took him a long time to understand what a "hug" was, and that it meant Ozzie liked him.

The robotic tentacles Ozzie uses are sentient, and they adore Neil. He's like their second dad.

After they retire from villainy, the two live in a nice apartment, still choosing to live in Prism Pulse. On occasion, they'll don their villain aliases again to help their former rivals (Lucky Moth & Arachne).

Neil grew up in a lab and has like….0 social skills. His point of reference for how people act are the few movies & TV shows he was shown for whatever reason. He's definitely looked at any romance movie & went "me n who" multiple times. (Yknow how in Wall•E he's always wanting to hold Eva's hand bc of the movie he likes...yeah that's Neil around Ozzie)

Neil gifts Ozzie every single octopus-themed item he finds. Their favorite pastime / bonding activity is watching movies together…especially bad movies — the shittier the better they LOVE making fun of them.

((NSFW)) Being born in a lab, Neil didn't know a whole lot about the outside world, aside from what he was told & shown. Ozzie introduced him to hentai / tentacle porn real quick.

((NSFW)) Neil is very…sensitive and hasn't had basically any sexual experience, so he doesn't last very long. Thankfully, he has a LOT of energy, and Ozzie has 6 arms, so the two are usually able to do multiple rounds / keep each other satisfied.

How much does Sara know of Grissom's feelings for her before they get back together? It seems to me that as viewers, we are invited to believe that Sara's feelings for Grissom could be largely unrequited until "Butterflied". He plays it damn close to his chest and until Butterflied it's plausibly deniable. Does Sara see it this way too? Or does she sense that he's in love with her but held back by something else?

oh, sara definitely knows that grissom is in love with her.

like.

while there are a few periods during her and grissom's early history where when he is acting especially incorrigible toward her she momentarily allows herself to doubt as much, she ultimately always comes back to the fact that he does.

she can't ever fully convince herself otherwise.

she just knows it.

what she doesn't know—at least until episode 04x12 "butterflied"—is why them being in love with each other isn't enough to make him want to take a chance on having a relationship with her or why he sometimes treats her poorly despite the fact that he is obviously in love with her.

so.

our question then becomes: how can we tell she knows he's in love with her?

discussion after the "keep reading," if you're interested.

when considering how sara can be so sure that grissom loves her, we have to keep in mind that she has history with him from san francisco that we are not privy to. while we can't say for certain what exactly their relationship is like at this time (in terms of how often and under what circumstances they see each other, the kinds of things they do when they're together, what the level of physicality is between them, etc., etc.), we can say that by both grissom and sara's reports, their first meeting is revelatory for both of them (see episodes 07x03 "toe tags" and 08x02 "a la cart"), with the mutual attraction obvious from the start.

they then have an additional two and half years beyond that first "flashpoint" to bond prior to sara moving to vegas.

though it's debatable to what extent their relationship may be physical in nature and it's highly unlikely that they ever come right out and confess their feelings for each other in so many words at any point during this timeframe, what's clear is that they both feel incredibly drawn to each other throughout this 1998-2000 period—enough so that years later, in 2007, they both intimate to ecklie, completely unflinchingly, that they have felt connected to each other from the very beginning ("we've always had a relationship," "nine years ago").

right from the get-go, sara knows she and grissom are connected to each other, and that connection is strong enough for her that she is willing to quit her job at the sfpd and move across state lines in order to potentially build on it (see episode 05x12 "snakes").

if she had no notion that her feelings were reciprocated, she wouldn't take that kind of chance.

the fact that she actually makes the move tells us: she feels like what she and grissom have together is a sure thing.

—a notion which is then further reinforced by her behavior once she arrives in las vegas.

as i talk about here,

consider that in some of her very first interactions with grissom in las vegas, we see sara acting as if she and grissom are already some kind of serious couple—asking him to tie her up with duct tape in a keenly bedroom way, presuming that the fact that he asked her to move to vegas affords her special privileges at the lab, shamelessly flirting with grissom in front of their coworkers, even talking to grissom openly about sex.

consider that this isn’t just sara having no chill. consider, rather, that this is sara acting with grissom in las vegas in the same way she had acted with him in san francisco.

it's only once she settles in vegas and he starts to pull back from her about midway through s1 that she has any reason to even question if his feelings are equal to hers.

however, even then, despite him becoming increasingly aloof from her and sometimes treating her harshly, she sees enough counterevidence to suggest that his feelings for her still (under everything) remain unchanged that she continues to operate under the belief that someday he'll come around and they'll be together.

and that's the whole problem for her, really: if she wasn't so sure that he reciprocated her feelings on some level, she would just give up.

honestly, things would be easier for her if the attraction were one-sided, her love unrequited, the investment all on her side and not at all on his. then she could maybe convince herself that he wasn't worth the trouble; that she was being stupid for hanging onto him the way she has for all these years. she could make her peace and move on, knowing that there was never any chance for them to be anything other than boss and subordinate.

but the fact is, she knows there's something there—knows that despite his sometimes jerky behavior toward her, ultimately, he cares; knows that despite his attempts at playing aloof, he will always eventually come back to her because he is as drawn to her as she is to him.

sure, there might be some really bad days between them (particularly during s4) that cause her to question if maybe she has misjudged the content of his heart and been seeing what she wants to in her estimations of his feelings.

but then, inevitably, there will always follow some gesture or tell from him that proves to her that she's not just imagining things—that he does care about her, and not just in a superficial "i'm your supervisor so i have to" way but deep down in his heart, in his bones, with his whole soul.

he'll say or do something that suddenly lays bare to her the sheer depth of his love and desire for her, and she won't be able to deny it.

he'll piss her off by giving up too easily on their domestic violence case, but then he'll walk back that decision, staying up all night with her to make sure that they get the solve—and not just because it's the right thing to do but because he can't stand how sad she would have been to fail.

he'll show total disregard for her by keeping her out of the loop on his experiments and making her clean up raw meat even though he knows—or ought to know—that she's a vegetarian, but then once he realizes that he's fucked up, he'll send her a green plant and start acting like prince charming again over the course of the next several weeks.

for every careless action or instance where he throws his weight around as her boss, there are a thousand sweetnesses and jealousies and expressions of want to tip the scales back—him telling her, sans hesitation or guile, that he only started to believe in beauty once he met her; tenderly tending to her injured hand after the lab explosion and calling her "honey;" pressing her up against bloodied bed sheets on the wall like he wants nothing more than to fuck her senseless; getting her christmas gifts when he doesn't get them for any other of his subordinates; about losing his damn mind when he learns she is dating somebody else; walking with her arm-in-arm around their crime scenes; giving her special favors on the job; blurting out wonderfully romantic, ridiculously poetic things to her as if they were nothing; looking at her with those blue, blue eyes, with all the ardor and hope and fear and wonder and adoration in the world in them.

though sometimes when she feels especially hopeless about them or when he is acting like a grade-a jerk to her, she may wish she could just convince herself she was delusional, deep down, she always knows: that same connection they've always felt with each other remains unchanged.

he has always been in love with her, just like she has always been in love with him.

"my life began when i first heard your voice," you know?

she knows.

and especially because we have to keep in mind: for what few and precious examples of grissom's love that we as the audience see, she sees a thousand more.

there are so many moments between them that happen off screen and out of our sight.

so for as sparse as the information we have to go off of with this topic may be for us, it isn't the same for her.

she's there in the room and can feel it.

she works with him for years and experiences so many innumerable examples.

sometimes it's so damn strong she swears she could almost hold it in her hands.

that's why she says to him what she does when she finally asks him out and he rebuffs her advance (see episode 03x22 "play with fire"):

"you know, by the time you figure it out, you really could be too late."

when she says "it," she's referring to his feelings for her.

she's basically saying, "by the time you figure out that you love me enough to want to be with me, it could be too late."

to me, that's the proof right there that sara knows how grissom feels about her even long before she overhears his confession during episode 04x12 "butterflied."

it's also proof that the thing she is unsure about is not the nature of his feelings themselves but rather why he doesn't act on them.

as i talk about here,

sara asking grissom out [in episode 03x22 "play with fire"] isn’t this out of the blue occurrence. she’s just going with the original plan—with what should have happened in october 2000, when she showed up on his home turf, all sunshine and smiles, ready to take on the world with him.

his feelings for her never changed after those first few golden weeks, but his behavior did, and that’s where sara is coming from. she can see that, underneath everything, grissom is still in love with her, and, since she’s still in love with him, too, she can’t understand why they aren’t together.

she felt that incredible, once-in-a-lifetime connection that they made in san francisco jolt through her just as much as he did, and she knows it’s the type of love that won’t just fade away or peter out over time. it’s a forever love for both of them.

and, to her, that’s enough.

their love is enough to make her want to be brave and break rules and take a chance.

but not him.

and that's what she doesn't understand.

why isn't being in love enough to make him want to be with her?

of course, she knows there are department rules against it, but to her the math is clear: they are two people who both thought they would never fall in love, but somehow, miraculously, against all odds, they have found each other and done just that, and, because they have, they should be together.

1 + 1 = 2.

she is herself sufficiently motivated that were he to say the word, she would find some means to get around whatever barriers stood between them—to take the risks and put in the effort because the reward would very much be worth it to her.

it baffles her (and breaks her heart) that he obviously isn't similarly disposed.

and it isn't until the events of episode 04x12 "butterflied" that she finally learns that the thing that holds him back isn't a lack of love but rather (perhaps worse) a fear of it.

to find out that just as she had always known, he does love her but that he is too afraid to take a chance on that love is absolutely devastating to her.

it certainly puts all the pieces together for her, in terms of explaining why he can be so hot and cold with her, at turns, but it gives her no satisfaction to know and definitely provides her with no potential fixes to their intractable situation.

again, if it were the case that he didn't love her, she could just mourn the loss and walk away.

but knowing that he does love her, even if he's too scared to make anything of it, she can't bring herself to sever that tie. she doesn't know how to.

she knows she's going to spend the rest of her life holding her breath for the escalation that will never come.

or at least so she thinks.

but, thankfully, that's the thing: she's been right the whole time.

grissom does, ultimately, love her.

and because he does, he is eventually able to overcome his fears, do the brave thing, own up to his feelings for her, and make the move.

though it takes him a long time to find the courage, eventually, he does.

his love has been there all along, quiet and hidden, sure, but never fully suppressed. for as much as he has at times tried to downplay and obfuscate it or even shut it off, he has never been successful, even a little bit. sara wasn't seeing anything that wasn't there. in fact, she was only seeing the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

his love for her has loomed in the background of their every interaction.

it's been written between their every line.

and finally he's ready to bring it into the foreground and speak it aloud.

so.

all of the above is to say that for as much as the csi writers toy with presenting grissom's love for sara to the audience, causing them to question its existence and nature, sara always has much more of a front row seat to it and is therefore far less doubtful that it is real. though she sometimes is confused about why and how grissom can treat her in the ways that he does given his feelings for her, ultimately she can never rid herself of the notion that he (under everything) returns her love—and the fact that she can't underlies so much of her behavior toward him throughout the first four seasons of the show.

if sara had ever felt that grissom had stopped loving her, she might have been able to convince herself to walk away from him.

but she never can.

she feels that she's loved him forever, and she feels that he's loved her forever, too, and that's why she's willing to keep holding on until he finally figures it all out, even though it takes him the better part of seven years to do so.

Hi Knight Papyrus is such a cool idea and I would love to hear more about it!! Were there any theories/game evidence that led you to coming up with the idea, or was it just entirely an AU/for fun thing?

Oh yes yes!! This got. WAY too long so it's under the read more (I don't go in depth for the sake of time sorry qwq I can make a separate post later going into more detail about in game stuff qwq).

In all honesty the Knight Papyrus concept came to me right before Chapter 2 came out I was daydreaming in class about Papyrus being in the dark world (Cause I really thought he would be in Chapter 2 rip). I did a little sketch of his design and it turned out looking pretty knight-esque so I kept it for the Knight Papyrus concept ha ha. (The idea behind it was it would be his Battle Body if it was like. Actually real and not just a costume Sans made cause I like to think if characters from Undertale were to end up in the dark world their magic and outfits would be similar qwq). Eventually I started playing around with the idea of whatever is happening with Jevil and Spamton happening to Papyrus which eventually just evolved into him being the Knight for funsies [Note that the Jevil and Spamton concept isn't accurate to my current thoughts about it lol in fact he probably doesn't even really know who those two are since Spamton doesn't seem to know who the Knight is.]

HOWEVER. I am actually a really big Knight Papyrus enjoyer/truther nowadays based on like. Actual in game stuff dshjgkfdh (I won't be upset if he isn't though I just think there's a lot of interesting evidence that ties him to being the Knight but we are literally on chapter 2 of 7 we are barely scratching the surface of this story and I think it might be a little silly to expect that we'd be able to guess something like that this early on ^^)

I don't want to go too into it here cause this is something that I would literally make an entire slideshow about to get my point across lmfao, but Papyrus is a character who is definitely shrouded in mystery in Deltarune. Supposedly just seeing him would be too much of a spoiler and Toby Fox seems to be bringing a LOT of attention to his absence. Papyrus incidentally is the only character in Undertale who doesn't really get a resolution I guess?? Since I tend to subscribe to the idea that the Sans and Papyrus we see in Deltarune are the same guys (Again based on in game evidence I don't want to get into here just cause this is already long enough lol sorry). I think it would neat to explore those loose ends a bit more. I just think there's a lot to be explored with him and he's always been my favorite character because of it qwq.

Just stuff like Papyrus' room is like the one place in a post pacifist run where Reunited doesn't play for example???? One of the more obvious instances of him just straight up lying about things is the call where he acts like he doesn't know what a Lab is when Sans is around and literally in the next room he states taht Sans would love a lab since he's into that kind of stuff??? I know I reference it a lot it's just the one that comes to mind i need to freshen up on my Papyrus phone calls dshgjkndfh. Dude why are you so weird why do you lie about random things all the time dshgjnkfdh.

Anyways all that to say it started out as a silly idea and then I realized there was actually some substance to it lmfao sorry this got so long I tend to ramble a LOT about unrelated things when it comes to these games
