Strengths: Is the main character of the Helltaker game, Superhuman strength (Possesses strength far above a normal human, Can shatter several inch thick chains with his Fists, Can destroy Skeletons with single kicks), Superhuman durability (Can shrug off being stabbed by Spikes and Judgement’s Chains, Barely noticed being stabbed in the back, Survived exposure to Beelzebub’s Abyss which made him feel like he was being infected with every disease at once), Above peak human speed (Is very fast for a man his size), Possesses incredible willpower (Forced himself to trek through Hell as a living human solely for his goal of building a harem of Demon Girls, Managed to convince Lucifer herself to join his harem).

Weaknesses: His willpower is tied to his lifeforce so if he loses the will to continue he will die.

Strengths:As a rather accomplished anon who's making the news among hell, he's quickly making connections everywhere! Superhuman strength (as a sinner demon, he should be stronger than a loving human. He's also capable of easily picking up Alyx and alastor with ease. Has no problem moving boulders the size of him around. While alive, he used to wrestle bears, alagators, and moose. Claims he once killed a cocaine bear.[don't do drugs kids] apparently Rosie sees him as ferocious enough and capable enough to be cannibal towns protector.) Superhuman durability (while alove barely flinched at being stabbed or haveing beer bottles broken over his head. He also took a brick to the face and recovered. He's also used to bears biting him and the cursed alastor cat trying to tear into him. Even weaker demons and imps can survive impact force of high degree. Being Alastors and Voxs age he also survived up to 70 execution days he also can take getting stabbed by an angel spear and keep fighting.) Subsonic speed (as a sinner he could keep up with deer and elk. He also can dodge bullets and knife throws. Manage to dodge both canon fire and bombs during a turf war.) A skilled hunter and chef due to his life of being a traveling pickpocket who had to hunt and steal to survive. As a postman of hell he is a capable driver and can teleport though it takes time. Has worked enough jobs to know if someone is trying to con him (mailman pickpocket woodcarving factory worker) despite him not a good formal education nor understanding most modern things he's a willy sort and can somehow use sir pretentious high grade steampunk gear.

Weaknesses:as a sinner/fallen Angel he's still weak to holy weapons like angel steel. He's also not as skilled or as smart as the overlords he also will lay his life down no matter what for anyone he cares for. He's also not a fighter he's a brawler. He also has a slight phobia of explosions and fire due to his cause of death [died in a factory explosion from flying shrapnel.] Will avoid anything that complicates his life anymore since he wants a simple life in hell with those he loves.

A Look At Stuff You Probably Never Heard Of: Helltaker: Second Circle

Valentine’s is right around the corner, so what better way to celebrate than with a game about your harem of demon girls (and one angel). And no, this is not an official sequel to Helltaker. We’ll take into that later. Today, we’re taking a look at... Helltaker: Second Circle!

Helltaker: Second Circle, often shortened to just “Second Circle” is a fanmade sequel to the Helltaker game by Łukasz “vanripper” Piskorz. Second Circle is developed by Team 133, being played in the style of a visual novel, rather than an action-puzzle game like the original. The game that is currently out is essentially a demo that’s being updated somewhat regularly.

Taking place a little over a year after the events of the original game, Lucifer is unsatisfied that the Helltaker is content with just letting attractive demon girls (and one angel girl) living in his house, not doing anything. She urges the “Taker” to spend time with the girls.

Afterwards, the player is given the chance to choose between any of the girls (except Lucifer). Each girl is given their own scenario. They’re all considered dates, but it’d more accurate to refer to them as casual outings; like going to the park with Cerberus, going to the gym with Justice, taking Azazel to a museum to work on her thesis of categorizing everything in existing and across different realms (it makes sense in context), or just playing a game with Malina. Only after spending time with each of the girls does Lucifer’s event become available. After spending time with Lucifer, more outings with the other girls become available.

As you can tell, this characters all have entirely new and original artwork to help compliment the visual novel style with the art style, dialogue, and a few other things trying to match Vanripper’s game as close as possible, but there are a few things that stand out. For instance, the backgrounds are clearly not in the Helltaker style, though it’s unknown if this is a purposeful choice or something else. And when the Taker is getting a special coffee grinder out for Pandemonica, the music from Legend of Zelda when getting an item from a chest plays.

For the second time this year, it’s time for the Final Recommendation Never Let Go Of It||Get It||Hold Onto It||Try It||Consider It||Stay Away From It

As stated before, this is a fanmade sequel with a completely different gameplay style. As a visual novel, you can only progress the story and make a few choices that don’t affect the story much. And also as stated before, this is a demo, so there isn’t a whole lot to the game. However, it’s being updated every now and again. I remember when I first played the game, it was just one round, a single date with each girl. But the most recent (at the time of making this post), there are three dates with each girl, new CG images, character art (with some being animated), and even new demons. And obviously, the girls have different clothes from their usual snazzy suits.

And speaking of new demons, Second Circle has a few new demons original to this game; Abaddon the Sloth Demon, Mammon the Greed Demon, Belphegor the Glutton Demon, and Sathanas the Wrath Demon.

And while the game is fanmade, it does give insight into the characters and the world of Helltaker. But, since it’s fanmade and Vanripper didn’t work on this, these insights are not to be considered canon. But they’re still rather interesting. Like Azazel feeling like she has a family within the Helltaker house, Cerberus protecting the Helltaker from a mugger, Lucifer improving Hell after overthrowing the previous ruler (and the Skeletons arranging themselves in annoying puzzles to impeded intruders and going on strike if they don’t get their milk), or even just a friendly hangout with Pandemonica.

It might also interest you guys to know that Vanripper is aware of this game, gave the group his blessing, and even drew Belphegor during his Demontober 2021, where he would draw a demon each day from the first to the 31st. And as a brief aside, for Pandemonica’s first date, you two go to a small cafe owned by an old man that’s pretty friendly with Pandemonica. This man, and the cafe as a whole, is a reference to Vanripper’s comic, seen here.

And before I end this, I want to mention something. In the opening scenario, Lucifer asks the Helltaker to get rid of the flies in the kitchen. Clicking on the flies rather than progressing as you would normally do will trigger a scenario with Beelzebub. However, this also skips Lucifer telling the Helltaker to spend more time with the girls.

boy oh boy what to say about this one. i thought more cosplay, specifically helltaker, would be appropriate for the first day of the spooky month. what's spookier than demons? skeletons? idk. either way, this one took... hm. let's say... marginally longer than average to do haha. the idea came from reddit when someone suggested I do calamitas as judgement on the dante post, plus i had already wanted to do virili as beel cause “fly of beelzebub” and all, so the pieces just sort of fell into place. and wow virili isn’t embarassed for once! well, she is, but she’s far too preoccupied with happiness by somehow convincing calamitas to cosplay with her to care. oh i almost forgot to mention, im considering making a discord server? mostly for the people on reddit and twitter since they don’t have access to the inbox like my favorite children do here on tumblr. and maybe some other future projects ideas idk. plus the update’s trailer dropped so maybe update soon??? and having people to play with who are as passionate about the game as me would be nice. idk just some ideas, send me feedback however, and if i feel like the response is big enough ill probably post a link later today or tomorrow. thanks!

sooo i have a few aus for initial d (ik sounds weird esspecially for a series like that) so here are they modern au - the same story just it all takes place in somewhere around our time (2020 2021 around that), without the virus ofc and takumi never came out to anyone and never plans to but gives hints of him being bi and prob later on gay  helltaker au - the characters are just the demons in helltakerbuU UutUuTUtt they are part of a sin like takumi is sloth or nakazato is envy or etc etc.. (ithink this is the first one i made) old times (like mid 19th centery old) au - one of the aus where the night kids are the main characters. nakazato and shingo try to escape to the uk (all takes place in france) while shingo is a street killer by playing his trustworthy violin and killing every listeners with the bow that has a blade inside the wood where youd usually hold the bow (unlike 5 year old me) oni au - the 2nd one where the night kids are the main characters. yea this is the one where shingos a oni and has nakazato as his samurai partner (who somehow sucks blood of open wounds to apperently not have it spread how the fuck is he not dead yet) to kill momotaro (peach man with a dog, pheasant and monkey)for revenge and to get immortal to become some war god undertale au (initial u?????) - simple, undertale but initial d. the only characters i have are the takahashi brothers as a mix between napstablook/mettaton and the skeleton bros, where ryosuke (whos basiclly mettaton but with cars and racing and being more serious)  has a racing company/team (smallmfghostthing) and keisuke (nappy) is just a dude who just wants to be reunited with his brother. genocide run is just keisuke taking revenge by taking over the shell ryosuke used and modifing it and boom sans fight but with robot dorrito man limbo au (idk what else to called it ) - the only one i have for this one is takumi is that accurate angel that are rings with eyes and wings and i made the rings around him thats all

Helltaker: In which the ultimate chad takes to the underworld to amass a harem of demons

Usually I tend to over exaggerate the title of my reviews for the purpose of comedy. But this time, the title is spot on. Created by Lukaz Piskorz (AKA vanripper, AKA the creator of animated series Daystone) and published on May 11th, 2020, the game tasks an action hero with plunging deep within the depths of hell to acquire hellish ladies for his harem. Will this game be as fire as the game’s setting? Let’s sleep on it.

Helltaker is a top-down puzzle game with 10 stages. Your objective in each stage is simple: get to the girl. The Helltaker can move one square at a time, and can push both undead skeletons and rocks around like they’re nothing. But, the Helltaker doesn’t have time to meander about. He only has a limited amount of moves, indicated by the number in the lower left. Each move takes one point of willpower, and stepping on hazardous spikes takes 2 willpower! If the Helltaker runs out of willpower, he must try the stage again. Once he gets to the demon, the demon will strike up a conversation, leading up to a choice. If he makes the right choice, he live and moves on to the next level. If not, he meets some form of cruel end at the hands of said demon.

The art for the game was done by Lukaz himself. The artstyle has a mix of both chibi and gothic qualities. The art for the demonic ladies is pretty good as well. The demons mostly wear black and red clothes, with white hair providing much needed contrast to complete their ensembles, giving them an air of both cutsey charm and menace. The best girl is Pandemonica, by the way. This is an indisputable fact, of which I am certain there will be no dispute over. Correct?

The music for the game was provided by one Mittsies on YouTube. The OST contains 5 tracks, all of which are incredibly quality. I may not be a music aficionado, but I would describe it as light electronica, with pounding beats that mimic the thoughts racking your brains for the solution for that one puzzle COME ON HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?! Sorry, I lost my cool there for a moment. What I meant to say is that this game’s soundtrack will have you tapping your foot to the beat as you try to solve the game’s puzzles. I can’t blame you, especially when even the characters can’t stop grooving.

Helltaker took me about an hour to 100%. As a bonus for those who see the game’s secret ending, you can get a password to an itch.io page containing concept art for helltaker, and a recipe for making some incredible pancakes! If that doesn’t warrant a playthrough, I don’t know what does. If you enjoy puzzle games, and want to kill an hour, this game comes highly recommended!
