starting off strong with madoka magica! rant & heavy spoilers ahead!

i’ve been seeing a lot of madoka magica hate recently, on most of my social media platforms, solely because dudebros love to hate on magical girls, specifically madoka.

“gun level only”

“character x beats her easily”

like alright bro just say you know nothing about madoka and her story and move on. i won’t get too into the details but it’s the fact that madoka, after becoming a goddess, who really isn’t bc she’s a literal concept so she doesn’t exist in anyone’s mind so no one even knows she’s real, who then can literally be anywhere and nowhere at once, due to her being said concept on an (every)universal level; has the ability to REWRITE said universes at a literal whims notice. doesn’t even have to construct the ability she just wills it to be done and it is.

calling her weak when even if she doesn’t rewrite your entire universe’s lore and any abilities attached to said universe, her power scales so beyond she practically one shots everything. and it’s not even like madoka WOULD do any of this! her morals to do good and to BE good are so straightforward and pointed in the morally right direction that she wouldn’t even consider anything a threat.

the only person who is shown to even touch a minuscule amount of her power was demon homura, when feigning death and trapping her in time itself. splitting her from her concept/godlike body. and that ALONE is far more powerful than most characters people pit the magical girls against.

genuinely, i just don’t understand the madoka hate when she’s just as op as any other mc. she’s played dirty solely bc she’s from a “ha-ha” cutesy magical girl anime and it drives me nuts.

So don’t click keep reading if you havent finished or started either (ESPECIALLY MADOKA MAGICA, Trust me the show and movies are so good walking into blind I’d kill a man to watch it blindly again) also warning for potentially shit grammar incoming lol

First things first-

HOW HAVE I NOT SEEN SOMEONE NOTICE THE SIMILARITY BETWEEN OVERBLOTS AND WITCHES?

The similarities is the over-use of magic and negative energy polluting the energy source they use to performing these magical abilities turning them into abominations that go on a rampage and effecting the lives of those around them.

The difference though is that for witches, it’s specifically middle school girls who become witches and them becoming witches have the chances of causing world ending atrocities- and in the world of puella magi most Natural disasters are due to the fact a witch is the cause of those disasters and only incubators and other unsuspecting naive magical girl know of

Whereas in twisted wonderland *So far* we’ve only seen Teen high school boys overblot and that didn’t(Besides chapter 6 and 7) have any world ending consequences in my opinion

Anyways that’s a point I wanna get to another time

You know what I’d love to see? a reader-insert or just a yuu from puella magi in the world of twisted wonderland!

Now this is when I start getting real self-indulgent with this XD but I wanna see like a Homura!Yuu! :)

basically a reader-insert who takes the role of Homura Akemi, right?

And the entirety of the first anime happens and Madoka goes from a 14 year old girl who made a wish to save a cat from dying by unknowingly trading her soul to become a magical girl as an energy source to a higher being

to end up becoming an omnipotent concept that saves magical girls when their gems over pollute and are about to become witches

But instead of the Rebellion Arc happening and Homura!Yuu becoming a witch and demon and all that pizazz! let’s say they “try” to keep going and just Bans themselves from going back in time again and trying to go forward for Madokamis sake and deals with those weird wraith things in the new universe

and maybe a little cherry on top they try to learn and expand the magic abilities Yuus other magical girl friends had.

Later on we move to let’s say, 17 Year old Homura!Yuu, and guess what? You’ve been isekaid bestie have fun!

During the prologue introduction, when Homura!Yuu wakes up into the coffin grim doesn’t get a moment to even open the coffin as you just kick it open ready to transform believing this is some form of a witches labyrinth and are ready to jump into a bunch of conclusions

Now, in comes a poor unsuspecting Grimm

And the first thing Homura!Yuu does upon notice of him? The same thing Homura did to Bebe in rebellion-

just one Quick grasp onto his neck and just instantly slamming him into the nearest wall before he could even say a word. Questions being shot left and right over this potential Witch-like being or a being that seems to be similar combination of a witches Familiar+ Kyubey. A thought you do not like the sound of.

Grim is quite fairly, terrified out of his mind (I’m sorry my son) But! Lucky for him in comes the headmaster to witness this display of aggression! And school hasn’t even begun yet! The nerve!

Now this can go from here in Multiple ways, but for now, how id see it going is Crowley using his whip to tie up Homura!Yuu and just yoinks up a scared grim similar to what Mami did in rebellion

you’re only reaction to this is “Ah shit, here we go again.”

Now I can see Crowley ends up kicking Grim away still since you’ll obviously deny any association with him and just questions Crowley like there’s no tomorrow and just like in canon those questions fall on deaf ears! Lol

Crowley believes that coming to night raven college has frazzled your young hormonal teenage mind into acting so aggressive and since he’s such a kind and generous headmaster does not hold you accountable for it, isn’t he so wonderful c:

Homura!Yuu ends up quietly playing along to whatever the hell is going on to get a better and proper assessment on the situation you’ve been put in. So everything continues on as normal while the students of NRC give you a strange look until it’s finally your turn to approach the mirror.

How I’d see the mirror react to a Homura!Yuu is once you give it your name, I feel like he’d go “their soul is..Missing?..” Because as you know your soul has been turned into your soul gem and the mirror has no knowledge of this so you’re not gonna be assigned any dorm, sorry not sorry c:

This, understandable, freaks everybody out.

This is when Canon plays out a usual in the story for the prologue with the headmaster taking you to Ramshackle and you’re Re-encounter with Grim.

When you do encounter grim again you transform again and start to chase after him to continue where you left off back in the mirror chamber. This leads to Homura!Yuu discovering grim to be innocent in your arrival here and just simply… wants to be able to grow stronger.. hmm why do you feel like you’ve heard that before

Upon Grim proving his innocence and quite frankly become official scared of Homura!Yuu in comes the ghosts to scare him some more! They watch you chase him down and wanted to join in on the fun.

Mind you, you aka Homura!Yuu are still on guard and still transformed so you obviously attack the ghost with grim ending believing you attacked them for his protection! You didn’t, but if it makes up for scaring the piss outta him sure 👍 well go with that.

Now we continue with canon from here with Crowley calling you a beast tamer and hiring you as a janitor yadda yadda, but Grim ends up referring to you as his Bodyguard instead of henchman in this one! Which if Homura!Yuu was going to be honest, Grim was 1,000 percent a bigger improvement then kyubey.

I totally wanna make a side writing blog and make more stuff like this if it gathers the attention of others lol, I already have it made I just need to edit it along with my other side account where I used to post art until I took them down due to tumblrs Ai update lol

Once I’m done fixing up those two I’ll make a master post with the users of all three of my blogs and my ao3 too lol

A thousand thinkpieces debating the morality of Homura already exist, you don’t have to look far to find them. She’s obsessive, she’s toxic, she’s brutal, she’s doomed to a downward spiral of tragedy. She’s literally the devil. She’s god’s specialist solider. She’s an optimist, holding onto hope with her teeth. She’s driven by love and grief. She’s radical change in the face of suffering. She perseveres in search of a better future even though it costs her everything. She’s a teenage girl. She’s an asian catholic lesbian. She’s got a gun.

Homura is a 14 year old girl stuck in a time loop of her own choosing in order to save her best friend from becoming a magical girl after having watched her succumb to becoming a witch over and over again. She uses time stopping and time traveling powers and also straight up weapons that she's stolen from shady organizations. In fandom she's usually headcanoned as being catholic due to her intense devotion to Madoka as well as having a lot of guilt and hatred towards herself. In the 3rd movie Rebellion she literally creates her own ideal world where madoka and their other magical girl friends are happy and alive but Homura still ends up spiralling after discovering that she was the one who made this too perfect world and she ends up succumbing to her own despair by becoming a witch. She's isolated herself from the other girls since she's the only one who knows the truth about the magical girl system and is committed to working by herself so she seems untrustworthy to some people but Madoka still chooses to see the good in her, so much so that she becomes basically god so that she can protect all magical girls. And then homura kinda becomes a demon in rebellion after madoka saves her from her witch form and she rewrites the whole world again. But yeah uh Homura ... she's got A Lot going on and is in desperate need of therapy but at least she has a gun and a goal.

Literally so in love with another girl that she unconsciously created a false reality where they were happy together, then discovered she was the one who created the false reality when the other girl broke her out of it. Proceeded to become the actual devil, kidnap the girl (who was also god), and make another false reality again. Queen of trying so hard and making everything worse

Efficient girlboss who cares so much. She restructed timelines and rewrote the universe(morally dubiously, not to spoil anyone) for her very best and only friend

In the movie Rebellion, Homura betrays and dethrones God, taking her place, claiming herself to be the Devil and bending reality to her will in order to create her ideal world, without Madoka’s consent on taking her godhood. Therefore trapping her and the quintet quartet into yet another false reality, something nobody but Homura wanted.

Both the narrative and Homura herself view this action as corrupt, and the narrative considers it wrong. However, it is not evil, because her intentions were to be able to save her best friend, Madoka, from the cruel fate she saw her in. Homura doesn’t base her actions in the greater good, only in what would give Madoka happiness, even if said choice would go against Madoka’s own wishes, (for example, in the series, there is a supposed murder attempt against Sayaka due to her choices “making Kaname suffer”) said mindset being created due to the mindfuck timeloop that Homura stuck herself in attempting to save her first friend.

And even if she doesn’t care as much about the other members of quintet (and basically tried to kill Sayaka lol) she still gives them a happy life in her creates reality. So while stripping Madoka of her godhood and, depending on how the world building develops, *possibly* dooming the world to continuing to have witches, it was done with good intentions and the fact that there are multiple debates on fandom about whether that was a good decision or not shows that this was something with complicated morals.

I'm gonna write about my hcs for Homura as a system bc she has a Lot going on from that angle. I was going to wait until I finished a chart I had been drawing and sorted out each part's 'role' to my satisfaction, but I Really want to share it it's my favorite puella magi hc.

Ok so Akemi Homura. Firstly she has been through a LOT of trauma and bullshit so it's not even remotely a stretch to consider (esp given she has a history of frequent medical issues even before the main story).

Secondly she has some dissociative instances that happen as pretty plot-relevant things - the entire plot of Rebellion, for one. And, depending on how 'canon' you view it, Wraith Arc is another example of dissociative coding wrt memory issues/barriers, and carries a lot of plural coding on its own. Not to mention her incredibly detached approach in everything is a form of dissociation, as a response to being in an ongoing traumatic situation (being a magical girl and constantly having her friends taken from her or turning on her)

And honestly I'm just citing base examples off the top of my head and could most likely go into more in depth analysis for any of these points.

So she gives me strong system vibes. But furthermore, she'd be a rare case in media of a character with Multiple alters beyond just the 'good vs evil' trope, had this been done intentionally. And so I've picked out multiple alters that would compose her system, between the anime storylines and Wraith Arc, so I'm gonna list those out. As I said I haven't sorted out everyone's function/origin Thoroughly but I have pretty clear ideas for each.

Glasses Homura or 'Moemura' - the closest to the undissociated Homura, chronologically speaking and potentially in terms of function/personality. Might just have been the host for her daily life prior to her contract. Represented of course by wearing glasses, but her hair being braided (as seen in Rebellion) is another shorthand indication of her presence in the scene.

Akemi Homura, as we see her in the main series - most likely the second oldest alter seen by us. Formed directly to function as the main face of the system, as well as the system protector most likely. she's a sort of shield for the system by detaching all of her trauma and past timeline experiences from the present moment, acting as coldly and shut off as possible to further their collective goal (saving Madoka) and prevent emotional overwhelm. This also doubles to protect her more vulnerable alters and emotions, because as seen in flashbacks of earlier loops letting those show more often backfires than helps.

Wraith Madoka [Wraith Arc] - an introject alter modeled after Madoka. Unfortunately I haven't reread much of her part and my notes on her are elsewhere but I think she exists as a sort of... maybe soother for the system in a way, helping Madoka feel real in a reality where she is not.

Rapunzel Witch/Wraith Witch [Wraith Arc] - I'd probably classify this witch as a persecutor or other aggressive alter. She is born from the old memories and trauma, which is rejected by Homura in this story via memory manipulation (dissociation). This is done because this witch threatens Everything Homura has fought for and is initially represented in the story as Madoka's witch self, Kriemhild Gretchen, which further pushes that divide. The Rapunzel Witch is then fused with a Wraith and grows out of control, fueled by the power of Another antagonist to Madoka's world order (according to Homura's pov). The Wraith Witch then begins killing everything instantly, including Mami and Kyouko, and sets about destroying what Homura holds dear and/or has sworn to protect and keep safe.

Ai [Wraith Arc] - not entirely sure if I should count her separately from Wraith Madoka or not? Narratively she's essentially The Same Individual but everything about her is different functionally, so it might be a subystem deal or a case where Wraith!Mado split off of her. Ai was born narratively to manage Homura's memories, a representation of the 'miracle' that lets Homura retain her memories of the old reality. But she functions independently of Homura at points, as 'a part of Homura's soul that was eaten by a wraith'. She is the essence behind the creation of Wraith!Madoka as well as the individual behind its independent movements, all unbeknownst to Homura herself during this storyline.

Clara dolls [Rebellion] - these are already pretty clearly defined for us by the text, I think primarily as emotional holders and/or maybe fragments. I'm likewise unsure if I'd count Wraith Arc's Ai as part of their number, she has the same name as the unseen doll Ai but her function is somewhat different in practice. This might be chalked up to her being more consistently active than the others though, given how much "Ai (love)" drives Homura forward

Homulilly (black dress) [Rebellion] - I think I'd break her into two alters, given we have the black dress homura and then the fully-formed witch. In terms of black dress.... She's hard to gauge since I think her behavior blurs a lot with Homura's? But her motivation is different. She might also be a protector, but designed specifically for her Witch counterpart.

Homulilly (witch) [Rebellion] - This witch is most likely a trauma holder, which I think is pretty self-explanatory given what we see of her on-screen. I would probably count any portrayals of Homura during her scenes as Also her, especially the scene with Madoka's arm reaching through the window to her.

Homucifer [Rebellion] - whoo boy ok. Not sure what I'd classify her as. With her whole spiel and self-assignment of "The Devil of this world" she leans into persecutor territory in a way? But, her true motivation has nothing to do with painting herself as evil or punishing herself. Nor is her true motivation being Selfish and taking what she wants without thought. Her true focus is that Madoka becoming a God, separated from her friends and family, was Wrong, and so Homucifer exists to forcibly reunite Madoka with the life she gave up, no matter the cost. Selfishness is a factor, as is self-deprecation, but really her aim isn't anything straightforward beyond furthering the collective system's united goal of Saving Madoka, so idk what her Function is beyond filling that niche in a way the others can't.

So that's what I've got on her! Hopefully it all makes sense, if anyone has anything to add feel free!

Physical appearance:

Homura is a young girl with waist-length black hair and violet eyes. She is nearly always presenting with a stoic expression. She once wore red rimmed glasses, and depending upon the timeline, will wear them again. In her magical girl form, she wears a white, long-sleeve coat with a silver collar over a black, long-sleeve dress. The skirt is silver with white trim. She also wears black leggings with dark-gray diamonds that cover the sides of the legs, and black heels. The coat appears to have a flower-like pattern with 3 “petals,” and has 2 ribbons attached to it.

Personality:

Homura is often considered to be very intelligent, athletic, distant, and cold. Despite her cold attitude towards others, she still very much cares for people she meets and makes friends with but is driven by her desire to save Madoka more than anything else. She cares deeply for her friends, although she finds it difficult to show them aside from fighting and protecting them, either from themselves or from Kyubey and witches. Although she does not easily show signs of remorse, sadness, or pity, it is only because she had grown used to the suffering around her.

Story:

In the original timeline where her journey began, Homura was meek, shy, timid, and had lack of confidence. Due to being in the hospital, she could not perform simple physical tasks. Overwhelmed by her perceived uselessness, she begins questioning her existence and until she begins her fated friendship with Madoka, her feelings do not change. Madoka, alongside Mami Tomoe, shows her the ropes and dangers of becoming a magical girl and notes that Madoka’s own attitude became much healthier with every witch battle.

In her original timeline Homura never made a contract with Kyubey until Madoka died, fighting Walpurgisnacht, and then she made a wish to relive meeting Madoka.

In her second timeline, Homura begins training to use her power as a magical girl and trying to make some bombs as her weapons.

In the cuurent timeline, Homura, now a magical girl, appears friendly to the class as she is introducing herself. She meets up with Mami and Madoka, and they defeat witches together. They all attempt to defeat Walpurgisnacht, but fail. Madoka And Homura are about to die before the former reveals that she has a Grief Seed left, using it on Homura while telling her to save herself from making a contract.

In the series timeline, Homura is first introduced as a new student. She claims that her head is hurting, and asks to go to the nurse, knowing that Madoka is the helper. She talks with Madoka in the hallway about Madoka’s current life, and if she wants to change. Madoka replies that she is happy with the way things are. She does whatever she can to keep Madoka from becoming a magical girl, which will lead to the girl’s death in one way or another.

Verses:

Current timeline: Madoka hasn’t become a magical girl yet, so there is still time to save her. In this timeline, Homura attends school and has attempted to become ingrained in the circle of friends to try and convince her to not become a magical girl. (No tag)

Damian Wayne. dc. i am an absolute sucker for human weapons who learn to be more than their past. the fact that his character development is imperfect and riddled with human mistakes makes me so insane. i just love that his palatability is seperate from his relative moral soundness, he isn’t a perfect abuse victim and i just love it. 10/10 he spins on my blorbo lazy susan a lot.

Bronya Zaychik. honkai impact. this was an og og fandom for me, but i do still love her. the supposed ‘lack of emotions’ she exhibits is very relatable to me as someone who probably has some form of alexithymia, the fact that she is nonetheless accepted by her friends and is portrayed as a complete human being just gets me so bad. also fits into the human weapon archetype <333.

Ranpo Edogawa. bungou stray dogs. i just adore him! similar situation to bronya where he isn’t told he has to fundamentally change himself to have a loving support system. his flippancy towards extraneous things like adult responsibilities, and his inability to understand the reasoning behind social conventions does remind me of myself at times. but as aforementioned, my favourite part of his character is probably that individuality doesn’t have to be sacrificed for success or respect! maybe i will catch up on the recent chapters some time…

Chongyun. genshin. social masking allegory and legacy character… i have a similar approach to fielding my emotions, and while I don’t have a decades long legacy to live up to, I find the way he has to navigate succession in his own way very interesting. he was also my first main, so!

Wanda Maximoff. marvel. similar thing to damian in the fact that she is an imperfect person who does not have an idyllic path to redemption and heroism. she’s messy and desperate, but that doesn’t make her undeserving. kind of love the position she’s in right now where she just has this quiet wisdom from all she’s been through. scarlet witch (2016) also has a special place in my heart for the second comic i ever read (shout out to the runaways for being the first).

Andromache. the old guard. immortals!!! love examining the impact of time on personhood, as in a ridiculously prolonged span of time, and boy is she fascinating. she’s completely jaded at this point, and only really existing rather than living. she almost becomes a product of time rather than an entity born from its passing. it’s just so interesting to see a character so entirely devoted to a cause through obligation, because what else can she do?, the only thing she remembers is how to fight.

Fushiguro Megumi. jujutsu kaisen. i love how much of a deranged mess he is. watching him have to unlearn his suicidal tendencies was so fucking interesting. he has this cool arrogance to him that makes him eminently unlikeable, but he is still a fundamentally good person at his core. for some reason my memory really failed me here? so not much to say, but I remember liking him.

Xie Lian. tgcf. innately good person despite his trauma! i love characters like this and i thought him fighting a literal manifestation of his past, more selfish self, was a fun way to signify his growth.

Homura Akemi. madoka magica. one of my childhood favourites. i watched this series at age seven and it probably severely impacted my psyche. her loneliness turned obsessive attachment and love is utterly heartbreaking to me. her unquestionable and desperate devotion to madoka is just. agghhh. the way that she needs her so intensely that she’s willing to sacrifice her personhood, the universe itself. ultimate blueprint for toxic yuri 10/10.

Boris Pavlikovsky. the goldfinch. he’s a lot of things but a mentally stable person is not one of them. i find the line he walks between total self annihilation and self preservation very interesting. he represents this kind of pseudo-eternal youth, he always commits to extremes. he doesn’t ever ‘overdo’ it but more because it would hinder his ability to live tomorrow rather than because of any adverse health effects. the fact that he is such an optimist at his core despite everything is just a fascinating contradiction.

IM SO EXITED FOR THE NEW OBEY ME GAME!!!! AHHHHH!

I have always wanted to see more about Simeons past because in the game, he has hints here and there of the past and the celestial realm, but nothings has been put together as a full story.

spoilers:

for example, Simeon said that he used to be Seraphim, which is the highest rank in the celestial realm. He is now an archangel, a warrior angel known to be one of the lower ranks and looked heavily down apon in demon society. Was he demoted before, during, or after the war? (I'm only on lesson 75? in obey me so correct me if some of my information isn't correct with more recent events) Why does he still work for micheal? How long has micheal in charge? Did god or micheal demote him from seraphim? Why does he take care of Luke despite being a war angel? How long were archangels a thing? Has there been wars between the demon realm and celestial realm before? what does Rapheal look like in the picture? I think Simeon dislikes the celestial realm to some degree, he never mentions it and when he does he doesn't really reminiscent of the present but rather the past where he got to hang out with his brothers. No one has ever seen his angel form, but hes a human. IN THE NEW GAME WE MIGHT SEE HIS ANGEL FORM! anyways, in simeons HDD card, when he mentions realms, he says we should visit the human realm, and then says celestial realm too. It took him a bit to say that which was weird. Events are inherently cannon but represent their cannon forms in different scenarios, and in HDD he was still in his angel outfit, meaning it isnt up to season 4. Thats just one instance though I'm sure to find more.

In the video, we see Simeon with luke, and rapheal in a hallway (idk if its in RAD or the celestial realm). Rapheal walks ahead, not looking back and simeon looking outside, with the next clip being luke clutching his clothes. This might be hinting at a rocky relationship between rapheal and simeon. There's are some holes that need to be filled in within the lore about Simeon fighting against the brothers and why. I don't know what he was doing in the war, if he was demoted then, or was punished for wanting to defend him. Simeons flaw is staying in the past, as he is seen wanting to go back where he was hanging out with the brothers as angels. This could because of many things that aren't confirmed, like regret, guilt, or finding difficulty in the way things are in the celestial realm now. I personally believe that Simeon will have to grow as a person to move forward as he is now a human, making it so he only has like 70 years of his life to live. He wont be able to be there for Luke anymore, and It's a possible reason that they sent Rapheal to be an exchange student so he will take care of Luke after Simeon dies and probably his soul gets sent downwards.

+(I want to know why Solomon has never asked Diavolo, the future king of the demon realm, for a pact and only bugs Lucifer for a pact. its really odd but I dont think the new game is gonna answer that. The devs purposely but in that line from Diavolo about solomon but was never explained further so there is prob going to be something in the future about Lucifers powers scaled from Diavolo.)

I would also like to know how the dagger that can kill demons were invented, and if they were from the celestial realm or a witch or a demon.

WAIT HOLY SHIT I RemEMBER SOMETHING. I remember seeing screenshots and meme forever ago i dont have them but it was levi saying one of his long anime titles, and it said something about being reincarniated as punishment and being a man servant suggesting that barbatos was somehow Liliths (angel-form) lover and was reincarnated as punishment from god, which could be more of an explanation to his time powers(thinking like Homura Akemi), it may or may not be a stretch my memory can get fucked up over time of things happening. The anime title does exist, i just dont remember the exact contents. take everything in this paragraph with a 2 pounds of salt. Last year in May when my fixation was at its peak again, I spent hours searching for juicy Simeon lore and celestial realm lore. Ive been theorizing and questioning a lot of things since then. I have screenshots of somethings if anyone wants me to post about them I can, but I might have to look in game again for some of the stuff.

In the months following their victory over the dreaded Walpurgis Nacht, the city of Mitikahara underwent intensive reconstruction development for all of the landmarks and establishments that were consumed in the storm. Despite the obvious tragedy the destruction wrought upon the civilians it also allowed the city to refurbish the once defunct and derelict factories and yards that were abandoned after the great boom of technological advancements. Amongst these new city plans was the demolishment and reconstruction of Mitikahara Middle School and transforming the evangelical education facility into a hybrid middle/high school.

Which was why the Holy Quintet Plus-Maybe-Two-Or-Three were lounging about in Akemi Homura's old ass apartment instead of Mami's apartment - too small - or the Kaname residence - got a bit trashed. The ultra-hyper modern interior was replaced with the European aesthetics the complex was designed with, the null white now shut off along with the many monitors and looming pendulum, Akemi's projector tucked safely away in her hammerspace shield. Leaning back into the god-awful couch cushions on the floor was the owner of the apartment and one pink strawberry, cuddling together as if they were the only people in the world. In the kitchen that branched off of the large living room were Mami and the little munchkin in Bebe form, baking cakes and preparing tea with the limited supplies in the cabinets and fridge. Lounging on top of the uncomfortable seats were a fish and her lovely spitfire, dozing off into the realm of dreams. Or at least, one of them was.

Sakura Kyouko was currently staring at the individual currently sitting on the other couch across from the quad couch potatoes. Currently dressed in the largest of Homura's sweatshirts and pajama pants was the girl who definitely-probably-most-likely was the magical girl who became the terrifying monstrosity known as Walpurgisnacht. They called her Walpy for short. In the girl's hands were a hooked staff of some sort and a much larger than usual grief seed; the physical form of Walpy's once pure soul gem, warped by her own grief and despair. They've all come to terms with their inevitable fates as magical girls but had yet to truly accept it until they met two very impossible anomalies - Homura's words, not hers!

Glancing down at the pillow that she was resting on, Kyouko looked at the sleepy girl who reminded her of what she could've been in another life, of a girl who had such a strong sense of right and wrong, a girl who was too tenacious and arrogant, ignorant of the harsh realities of the cruel world they lived in. The girl that made her life feel like it had purpose once more, the girl that she was certain that she loved with all of her very being. She thought of how Homura broke down how she would always make sure that she spent every second with Sayaka at her side so that they'd never be alone again, even into the afterlife.

And then she got thinking.

Homura confided in them about her wish, about how she had lived the same six weeks over and over again for probably around a good five years (a very horrifying experience she was sure warped the girl, as evident by how fragile and soft she looked next to her lil' pinkie) and she's most definitely seen some shit. So, she decided to play the dumb, fiery redhead card and open her mouth.

"Hey, Homs?"

Stirring from her position on the floor, cracking an eye open and turning her head towards the crimson girl, Homura gave her a look that said her question better have been important.

"What were our witches like?"

The sounds of the kitchen stopped as silence swallowed them all. Madoka wrapped her arms around the time traveler, whispering sweet nothings and words of comfort. Sayaka's eyes snapped open and found their way to Kyouko's own which were, in turn, glancing between the girl on the floor and the front door down several halls. Walpy just clutched her staff and sent her grief seed back into her heart, the earring and insignia on her arm pulsing a dark aura once before settling and looked at the group wearily. A moment passed before Mami entered with a tray of tea in hand with Bebe lounging on her head, somehow conveying concern and worry with a blank face.

"... Do you want the serious answers or the funny ones?"

Okay, good, Kyouko hadn't unintentionally sent Homs spiraling into another cycle of despair and repentance. Sending a challenging smirk the redhead responded, "I dunno, I could always use some dirt on Tomoe. Just in case I need to whip her into shape."

Thankfully the mood was set and smiles blossomed on everyone's faces. What followed were a series of stories told by a time traveler who had as many experiences of the mundane variety as much as she had the tragic variety.

"There was once a time where Mami met Nagisa sometime before Kyouko had met Yuman. Eventually, there came a point where you two did as you have done now, and agreed to raise your surrogate "daughters" together."

Placing the tray on the shitty bolted-down table, Mami lifted the munchkin off her head and started to cradle her as a, well, baby.

"I would hope so. Sakura-chan may have her faults but being a loving sister-figure was something that was never in question. Isn't that right my sweet little Bebe~?" Playing along Charlotte sprung out of the doll's mouth to bite at the fingers pinching her cheek, before curling around her "mama" like a scarf. Content grumbling could be heard as Worm-lotte sent out her message of witch runes.

"She asked if she ever had to be a despicable little ragamuffin to whip either of them into shape." Walpy translated, a bemused smile growing on her face. Homura nodded her head back and thought about her many past experiences with the little heathens.

"There was a short time where Charlotte and Yuma thought of a way to prank the two of them into thinking they vanished; she set her labyrinth to hide in the trees at the park and they waited to see how long it'd take for you two to notice.
