— idk if this needs to be spoiled but steven universe rant ahead! spoilers just in case!

pearl had every right to become a villain. or to dislike greg, especially after rose’s death. them reconciling later makes sense but for so long everyone hated pearl for disliking greg and not “getting over” rose dying. and esp after that scene where she tries to take out steven’s gem after he’s first born. i remember seeing so much pearl hate but literally cannot blame her. (not the trying to take the gem out thing that was not ok obviously lol)

she gave up everything for rose. she turned her back on what she was CREATED for to be free to LIVE with rose. for thousands of years, pearl did nothing but be by her side and fight solely for her. while yes, with a terrible mindset, and with rose’s bad intentions, it’s all toxic. I understand their relationship is very toxic but to hate pearl? who did not understand how it was toxic and solely loved rose?

pearl had every right to dislike greg. she had to watch in what? a year? two years time maybe? greg come in and take everything she had loved away. even though rose had no obligation to reciprocate pearl’s feelings, obviously, but to hate pearl for it all just makes me sad.

she didn’t deserve it :(

personally, isekai anime are so boring to watch. the market has been so over saturated with just repetitive isekai’s to the point that even the few good ones are kinda a drag to watch.

8/10 times it ends up in some weird fetish harem and if it doesn’t, every female character within a 50 mile radius, who’s important to the “plot”, ends up in love with the main mc. and he usually looks like every generic mfing mc out there 😭💀.

not to mention the power scaling in most isekai is just downright awful…

— rant && manga spoilers for jjk ahead!

i don’t even want to seriously get into it bc it would take me all day to explain why jjk (manga) has turned into something that I don’t even want to personally finish but i will say with the most recent chapters, gege doesn’t know wtf he’s doing.

like he use to have such captivating characters and story arcs but it’s slowly getting to the point that he’s just killing off characters for fun. oh well “I want to write a great story no matter who dies” but how is that a great story? reading every chapter of a character being introduced and then dying immediately? what story is worth finishing if you just straight up kill off all of your characters?

I feel like bc of what he’s said, and shown to do (killing/fatally injuring off LOADS of important characters) he’s either written himself into a deep corner that he himself can’t even get out of or he’s going to write that sukuna is just the winner in the end. which cool, whatever, write sukuna to be endgame but just get it over with. chapter after chapter of getting our hopes up for the people we’re rooting for just to be like “lol! nope! actually sukuna hasn’t used this move since the dawn of fucking time so everything the good guys do isn’t gonna work!!1!” is so BORINGGGG.

I have loved jjk since season 1, caught up with the entire manga in just a few days, fell in love with every character, and have rooted for them to take down the big bad evil. but to me it just seems like gege doesn’t know wtf to do except milk things and continue to do so for either money or he just really doesn’t know how to end sukuna and have the heroes come out on top.

so either two things will happen, sukuna will actually win and the story will just be retold and that “years later” someone seals him again or something like that

or

gege writes the biggest turn around by making everyone who’s dead a cursed spirit and they come back to help idk. I genuinely don’t know how tf this idiot is actually going to finish the story and it drives me insane lol. like at this point im just begging for it to be over.

starting off strong with madoka magica! rant & heavy spoilers ahead!

i’ve been seeing a lot of madoka magica hate recently, on most of my social media platforms, solely because dudebros love to hate on magical girls, specifically madoka.

“she’s so weak”

“gun level only”

“character x beats her easily”

like alright bro just say you know nothing about madoka and her story and move on. i won’t get too into the details but it’s the fact that madoka, after becoming a goddess, who really isn’t bc she’s a literal concept so she doesn’t exist in anyone’s mind so no one even knows she’s real, who then can literally be anywhere and nowhere at once, due to her being said concept on an (every)universal level; has the ability to REWRITE said universes at a literal whims notice. doesn’t even have to construct the ability she just wills it to be done and it is.

calling her weak when even if she doesn’t rewrite your entire universe’s lore and any abilities attached to said universe, her power scales so beyond she practically one shots everything. and it’s not even like madoka WOULD do any of this! her morals to do good and to BE good are so straightforward and pointed in the morally right direction that she wouldn’t even consider anything a threat.

the only person who is shown to even touch a minuscule amount of her power was demon homura, when feigning death and trapping her in time itself. splitting her from her concept/godlike body. and that ALONE is far more powerful than most characters people pit the magical girls against.

genuinely, i just don’t understand the madoka hate when she’s just as op as any other mc. she’s played dirty solely bc she’s from a “ha-ha” cutesy magical girl anime and it drives me nuts.
