Hey y'all, I got something cool for you. For the past few months, I've working on a cool lil unfiction project / ARG called Upstaged Communications!

It follows a woman named Penelope, who's investigating a defunct telecommunications company that may not be as dead as it seems. It's got visual novel / text adventure-esque stuff, diving through strange systems and networks, and lots of weird stuff! Although the formatting isn't the same, it draws some inspiration from stuff like ECKVA Network and Local58. Please check it out, I think you'll really like it!

I know I’ve mentioned this before I think but I’m pretty certain now that Connor Thomas is the funniest character in indie horror game history.

Like, just to name a few things:

Got ditched at the altar by his fiancé and then left her a “fuck you” dedication in the game that additionally serves as a Trojan horse containing murder footage

If my theory that he’s Vandal is true, he also snuck in to Broadside, stole shit, and (possibly) defaced property after getting the funding for his game cut, all while dressed like a mutated fugly rabbit

Lied about Mark Mullins liking his game

Nearly cut off a whole game’s development because he didn’t like the name Howlz

Called Hilda the love of his life - with certain implications that they had only just started dating

Screamed at the CEO of a company who rivalled Disney to get the fuck out of his house

Probably autistic

Completely forgot he was working on Shipwrecked64 in that one phone call

He’s like the Chad version of Rainer from Petscop.

hi!! ive been trying to get into 2h32 recenty but im a bit confused abt the characters do you have a list of them? thank you in advanced!!

Hey hey, welcome to the choir! You’ve come to the right place for help deciphering the 2h32 lore!

From my understanding, there are three main characters who seem to pop up the most in the series and are thus the most important, at least thus far: P, or the (Fallen) Conductor, who is our protagonist and creator of the series; the Doppelgänger, who seems to be a darker reflection of P with the bandages and several sets of hands; and the Maestro, the headless creature with the mannequin feet. We’ve been seeing these three crop up quite a bit in recent videos, though the Conductor’s look only recently started staying consistent. As a result, I’m 99% sure that some of the different characters/monsters we see in some of the earlier videos are actually the Conductor in different forms and phases as he was reborn into a monster. Though some of his traits are consistent across the series, such as the bandages, one eye being visible, a bloody, ragged-looking mouth, black robes of sorts (or the white button-down shirt and black suspenders), and the black wide-brim hat. 

Then of course we have some of the minor one-off monsters that I am certain are not P, such as the figure in the yellow rain jacket with the plastic-wrapped face in “Promenade”, the creature in the red robes standing amongst the trees in “Abominable”, and my new favorite, the gigantic, horrifying spider-like creature we caught glimpses of in “Blackout”. And I’m sure P had plenty more monsters in mind that we’ll have to keep an eye out for~

For now, though, I think the main definitive characters to pay attention to are the Conductor, the Doppelgänger, and the Maestro. Hope this was helpful! If you have any other questions or want to share any thoughts or theories on the series, I’d love to hear and I’d be happy to answer!

We really need to bring back webcam horror ARGs. I love analog horror as much as the next person, but there was just something special about some guy with a camera wandering around their house or the woods that made the experience.

#i know a few have come out in recent years #like hiimmarymary for instance #but it feels like everything has pivoted towards series that rely 100% on digital effects and a lack of live-action footage #and all of them require viewers to jump through 90000 hoops to get the story #horror webseries #horror arg #analog horror #like its fun but occasionally i just wanna watch a few people go insane in the woods y'know?

like its just treated as normal and nothing escalates from there. it doesnt go into a rabbit hole deep dive of the characters or people watching it where people start to notice more and more

naw nothing happens its just normal haha

and the background horror is REALLY subtle, like not even real ppl watching the webseries would catch on immediately

it does get a bit less subtle as the series goes on but subtle enough, its not entirely noticeable and obvious but it's still there enough for it to be eerie that nobody is talking about it or notices

i'd like to make that but it seems like it'd be really boring since nothing happens

wow!!! it's been (checks archive) almost exactly a year since i originally conceptualized Link Rot, and since then it's grown into a beast of a story i cannot wait to tackle.

currently i'm aiming for updates once every month/month and a half (with occasional vacations to work on bite-sized projects). i'd like to do more, but i have a job and don't want to burn myself out. for now, i will take things slow B) maybe this will change in the future!
