I NEED TO KNOW WHICH ONES CAN PURR AND WHAT MAKES THEM PURR

All skeletons can purr, they have the physical capacity to do it. Do they want to though?

Undertale Sans - He usually has a very good control on his purring and it's extremely rare you hear it. One way to make him purr is by petting his head while he's deep asleep. But he's rarely deep asleep and all the other times he might just stare at you in confusion lol.

Undertale Papyrus - Too much praise. It's rare though as Papyrus never lacks praises, but sometimes too many praises are too much and he blushes, purring loudly. He hates it though.

Underswap Sans - It's extremely rare and only when he's so happy he loses complete control of himself. His purr is also very low so it's hard to tell he is purring.

Underswap Papyrus - He's a big purrer and he doesn't hide it. When he's happy, he likes to show it. His purr is not that loud so it's hard to tell when he is, but he is, often.

Underfell Sans - Only in private and when he feels really really safe with his S/O. He doesn't want anyone else to know he can purr, think of his reputation.

Underfell Papyrus - Even though he will act like that never happened, Edge can sometimes purr when you're flirting with him. It's never for long though as he's very self-conscious about it and will do all he can to hide it, including throwing you by the window.

Horrortale Sans - He's not purring, he's making tractor noises. Oak purrs for all sorts of things, very loudly. When he wants attention, when he gets attention, when he's happy when you looked his way for two seconds... He's not hiding it. He purrs so loud that sometimes his brother has to take you to another room to have peace lol.

Horrortale Papyrus - Even though he hates it, his body instinctively mimics his brother's purr sometimes lol. He has no control over it and it makes him curse every time because he doesn't know how to stop it???

Horrorfell Sans - Only when he worried and you start petting him. It helps him to calm down. He's not purring other than that.

Horrorfell Papyrus - When you praise him, it can happen. But he immediately starts to cough to hide it because, duh, of course, he doesn't purr what are you imagining?

Horrorswap Sans - It might happen once or twice when he feels very comfortable, but other than that, he's not purring. He has other ways of showing affection.

Horrorswap Papyrus - That's one of the last sounds he can make without his jaw so he will certainly use it as often as he can. It's his way of saying "I'm fine today". It can be more or less loud with what he's trying to say.

Swapfell Sans - He can sometimes purr in his sleep, but that's his max lol. Don't you ever call him out on this because he will bite you and fight you.

Swapfell Papyrus - He purrs when he's flirty. It makes his voice more cavernous and sexy. Well, he thinks at least. It's not working that much in reality lol.

Fellswap Gold Sans - He can purr but you'll never catch him alive. Maybe one time in a coma, but that's all lol.

Fellswap Gold Papyrus - He has a low purr for long cuddle sessions. It means he feels very safe and happy right now, which is actually not that hard.

Outertale Sans - It can happen when he feels a bit lonely. It helps to soothe himself. Moon has a bit of separation anxiety.

Outertale Papyrus - He's purring to make the children he's looking after sleep for their nap. It's working really well!

Dancetale Sans - Only when he's half asleep on your lap and you pet his head to make him sleep.

Dancetale Papyrus - He purrs rarely, but it can happen once or twice when he's really excited and happy. He's self-conscious about it though and quickly grasps a hold of himself so no one notices.

Dancefell Sans - He doesn't purr often, but not rarely either. He loves having attention and he's favorite things ever is the shower of kisses. He starts to purr hard when it happens.

Dancefell Papyrus - He purrs very rarely, mainly when he's having a very good time.

Farmtale Sans - He can purr. But you'll never catch him alive either. He's a very secretive guy. Maybe after a few years of deep relationships, but it will be a one-time experience.

Farmtale Papyrus - He purrs rarely, he's too shy to assume it. Usually, it happens for ten seconds and then he stops himself and blushes deeply. He might do it longer if he's really comfortable around you.

Mafiatale Sans - He has a spot on his neck that activates the purring. He hides it really well though so good luck to find it.

Mafiatale Papyrus - Nah, he's not going to show you. You can barely see any expression from him in the first place, so a purr? Never.

Mafiafell Sans - He only purrs when he's with his dogs. He loves his dogs. You're not sure if you should be offended or not.

Mafiafell Papyrus - He never purrs except in bed with his S/O while he's... You know.

Ink - He doesn't have enough focus to relax and purr, sorry. His brain is working 200% every second of his life so no time for purring.

Error - He only purrs when he's eating chocolate. He never eats chocolate in front of anyone so chances are you're never hearing him purr.

Disbelief Papyrus - Like Papyrus, intense praising is what send him into purring mode. He's resisting better to your attacks though, so it's harder to get him.

Killer Sans - He's purring when you're praising him. It's not that hard. He likes attention. He likes attention so much he won't let you go before two hours so you can continue praising him.

Dustale Sans - Uh... He purrs randomly, mostly at times he's staring at you intensely without blinking like he's going to hunt you down. It's not cute, it's scary.

Merc, @popatochisssp 's Horrorswap Sans

He had too much Determination incompletely integrated with his magic to survive, and it makes him a bit melty. A lot melty. Its rough. It flares up when he has strong feelings, and a cycle of extreme emotion and your body turning into a puddle is difficult to manage, so he has to keep his emotions under wraps a lot.

His magic is pink though once he manages to get it fully integrated thanks to his brother, additive light of red and sky blue 💙 ❤️ its good.

Undertale Sans - Papyrus being happy and his friends being happy. He doesn't need much more.

Undertale Papyrus - Cute little toddlers waving at him. It kills him every time.

Underswap Sans - The neighbors calling him a hero because he brought their groceries home on his way back from work.

🌷 this one for Snackers~

Sure! Thank you for asking it ^^ I hope you like this one.

Over the last few months, you've been getting a lot more flowers on your body than before. You had some before, but now it was just getting a little out of hand! You had no idea what was happening to your soulmate, and you were sad that they had to be hurt. Every time you got a new flower on your body, you would think about your soulmate and wonder, "Just what are they doing?" but you never could get an answer.

The flowers were pretty, at least. You learned that they were called blue hyacinths! They were pretty, sure, but you really did wish that you didn't have to see them so often… 

Life was going as per normal; you went throughout your day like you would any other day until you heard that monsters were coming from the underground—or, at least, they already did. They were being asked a lot of questions before being allowed to go and 'live' with the humans. You heard all the panicked whispers when the monsters appeared in your town, but you ignored all of that.

They were… so interesting! They all looked like they needed help; I mean, one of them was missing their bottom jaw! You felt bad for their soulmate. A spider monster seemed to be helping that one, and she was pretty, if a bit… scary-looking.

Truthfully, they were all pretty scary-looking, if you had to be honest. One of them, a skeleton like the first one, had a large row of very sharp teeth, some poking out, and it looked like being bit by that one would really hurt, but he seemed so excited! It was sort of cute. He looked like a puppy, in a way.

He was going around, trying to say hi to people, but they would either back up from him, say hi, then hurry away, or just… run away. It made you feel bad since, hey, you knew that some people would really like him! You nibble your bottom lip, then step closer and raise your hand, smiling as you say, "Hi there… I'm Y/n; what's your name?"

He looked at you and grinned, stepped closer, and started to talk, explaining that his name was Snackers and that the other skeleton was his sibling, Butcher! They were both so happy to be out of the underground. As he spoke, his stomach, or at least what you thought was his stomach, growled, and he blinks, his eyeshines shooting down. You had to stop yourself from giggling, and you smiled, pointing over your shoulder and saying, "Why don't you two come over to my house? I can make you two dinner?" You wanted to be nice! It isn't anything bad or weird, right?

The two of them look at each other, then Butcher nods and rubs their neck. You weren't really sure how they were going to eat, but you weren't going to question it just yet.

And that's how you ended up with two skeletons in your house while you were cooking in the kitchen. Snackers was leaning against the counter, watching you. It felt sort of like a cat with how his eyeshines followed you closely. "Do you want anything special?" You decided to ask, and he shakes his head, "No meat." Is all he said at first, "For either of us, please." That was a bit strange to you, though you figured it made a bit of sense? You decided to make veggie burgers! You knew how to make them because of a job you had a little while ago… you got fired. That’s not part of the story, though!

Over the next few months, you hung out a lot with Snackers and Butchers. Mostly Snackers, and he seemed to really like you! More often than not, he would walk over, hug onto you, and just start to ramble about everything and anything that he wanted to talk about. Butcher was a bit easier to deal with because, well, they couldn’t talk! They always just wrote stuff in their notebooks or their dry erase board.

Today Snackers decided to come over, and you were cooking something! Something special for them. You weren’t sure WHY they didn’t eat meat, though you figured that there was probably a good reason for it. They always made sure that you weren’t cooking with it before coming over. When you heard the knocking on the door, it caused you to jolt, and the knife slipped, cutting your finger. You hiss softly, looking down, “Ugh… give me a minute!” you hurry off to clean the blood off and wrap up your finger with a bandage.

As you were putting on the bandage, the front door got opened, and Snackers called out, “Hey Y/n, are you okay?” You look over your shoulder and call back, “I’m fine! Just cut my finger!” he paused for a moment, “Which one?” you responded which and walked out of the bathroom just to see him, causing you to jolt, and you stared at him with big eyes, then he smiled and held up his hand, where a flower had grown on the finger you said. Before you could respond, he laughed and rushed forward, hugging you tight and nuzzling his skull against your head, tail wagging. 

He knew that you two were soulmates! When they first met, he was so happy to see you, and now you are his soulmate! Ahhh! He knew that he deserved one. Yeah, haha, good luck getting him off of you for a little while.

Horrorswap and Horrorfell Skeleton Boys (Info Dump: Revamp)

Warning: Blood, death, famine, etc.

Chai - Horrorswap Sans

Personality: He's a sweet skeleton man, but he has problems. He is a self-assured and compassionate man who enjoys sugar. He's a touch apprehensive and keeps his lovely confidence to himself unless he's with someone he trusts. He is a massive cuddler who will defend everyone he loves. He might be a touch rough while defending someone. He is also concerned about your health and ensures you eat properly and drink lots of fluids. He enjoys assisting others whenever possible. He has also learned self-care. He tries not to stress himself out, so he learns how relax when working on the farm.

Appearance: Chai has a scar on his left eye that is jagged and looks very painful. He has a small scar on the edge of his left eye. He also has sharper canines than average. He wears mostly blue!

Ceylon - Horrorswap Papyrus

Personality: He is a lovely, hilarious skeleton trickster with trauma. He tells jokes, but his sense of humor is off, and he is aware of it. He's always tense and angry at first, but as you get to know him, he's actually rather kind and friendly. When you first meet him, he's a little antagonistic, but as you get to know him, he's extremely lovely. He has a significant scar on his eye and dislikes it when others point it out to him. If he believes you are underweight, he will feed you. If you hug him when he's happy, he'll never let you go. He is an excellent farmer and worker.

Appearance: Ceylon looks like Stretch and he has a scar from the top of his skull through his left eye socket and down his cheekbone. Ceylon also has a white eye light on the right and an orange one on the left. He also had sharper-than-average canines. He has two small scars on the edge of his left eye.

Chive - Horrorfell Sans

Personality: He's a feral cat bone guy who's been through a lot. He is exceedingly guarded and aggressive to individuals he does not trust or like. If someone is genuinely pleasant to him, he will soften and relax enough to joke with his new acquaintance. He doesn't hesitate to protect his loved ones and is very loyal to them. When someone threatens his companions, he becomes furious and must be kept from tearing the individual who harmed his family limb from limb. He is very affectionate but difficult to get to purr, but with the appropriate training, he will.

Appearance: Chive has a large crack in his skull that runs across his skull leaving a nasty crack from the top of his skull to his right cheek. It is incredibly jagged. He has two red-eye flights. He is a skeleton with a scar on his left eye and two golden teeth. His jacket is red and black.

Cassia - Horrorfell Papyrus

Personality: He's a feral cat bone man who's seen a lot. Anyone who believes they have the right to insult his or his brother is confronted with hatred and contempt. He will be compassionate and kind to those he trusts, as well as protective, frequently shielding his loved ones with his arms. He is a very affectionate and loving individual. If his brother or loved ones are threatened or harmed, he is not scared to break the threat apart. He doesn't back down and is willing to do anything to keep his loved ones safe. He's the hardest of the brothers to calm down.

Appearance: Cassia has sharper canines compared to his already sharp teeth. He also has four scars on his right eye and each is jagged. He also has a cane or an optional wheelchair.

He had to inject himself with DT to survive the situation they were in, but, uh... it was a bit too much. Many issues have arisen from all the trauma and whatnot

How does Merc aka Horrorswap sans end up integrating his determination?

Well see, the problem Merc (HorrorswapSans) has boils down to just too much DT.

It's a very powerful substance, too strong and too foreign to his monster body to vibe with his magic correctly. It's like oil and water, with the DT just...sitting on top of his magic, separate from it, but creating interference--his soul tries to communicate normally with his body, but the DT is gunking up the signal, garbling it and making things go haywire (re: the melting problem).

The ideal situation, where this isn't really a problem, would be if there were a much smaller amount of DT in the equation, like Ell was given. Not too much to overpower his normal magic and functioning, but still enough to bolster his body and soul in a harmonious ratio.

I mean...Merc can't undo that part, unfortunately. He'd have considered it, but the DT extractors haven't worked in years, and even then they were designed to work with.........considerably less...alive... subjects. By the time he could maybe get it working and reconfigure it, the DT's already been in him too long, attached. It won't mix, it won't blend properly with the rest of him, but it's part of him and trying to get rid of it altogether would probably just kill him.

...But maybe there's an idea in there after all.

The ratio's off. It won't blend.

But what if it wasn't? What if it could?

If Merc can alter his side of the equation--his magic--expand the pool into which the DT is trying to integrate...maybe it could mix, finally, instead of just sitting on top and suffocating him his magic beneath it.

In theory, it works.

If he had enough, if he could produce enough magic for the DT to become soluble, it would fix the problem. He wouldn't have to maintain it indefinitely, he'd just need to do it once and his body could adapt, his levels would stabilize and excess DT would burn off along with excess magic, once they were in sync and part of the same system like they were supposed to be all along.

.........

But no. It's not possible.

He's strong, he has a lot of magic, especially with the DT involved, but the numbers...

No.

Not even he could generate that much, as much as the numbers suggest he might need to do this.

Kicking himself in hindsight again, if he only knew how much he overdosed himself by before he did it, if only he hadn't done it in the first place...!

...Well.

Maybe...

I mean, if he had help...

If...there was another strong monster, willing to give him a graft of their magic, to break that impossibly high threshold...

But it would have to be someone close to him, of a similar monster type, very strong and...

It would be...asking so much.

It would be a risk to his--...the donor too, and to ask for such a thing, from someone he's already hurt so much--

"don't be stupid," says Ell. "you don't have to ask."

So...Merc gets a magic graft from his brother, making enough room in him for DT red and sky blue to finally mix.

And in the end, he's left a very happy skeleton with soft pink eyes that reflect every bit of the mile-wide grin on his face when the nightmare is finally, finally over.
