The stone-eating dragon lives in tunnels, which he breaks through, creates entire underground networks. Zilant can be found on the surface when the dragon gets out to bask in the sun. It can squeeze through almost any gap.

random thought abt @wickedcriminal's HTTYD half-brothers AU: the twins start keeping a running tally of who gets kidnapped the most. It's usually tied between the Hiccups, and none of the other characters have gotten close to first place (not that anyone is trying). There are some exciting upsets between third and fourth place though.

secondary random thought (vague story idea I have not yet found the courage to write): a group of Bad Guys capture both Hiccups at once and find out really really quickly why no one has ever tried this before

Third random thought: Hiccup the Elder would be better than Younger at teaching the Hogfly because Elder uses more body language than words to communicate with dragons, and words is what the Hogfly tends to get mixed up. Elder gradually comes to understand some dragonese but for the life of him he can't figure out how to speak it.

(side note I should not be trusted to post things this late. If I have deleted this by tomorrow that is why)

The Book of Dragons of Ancient Russia

We are replenishing the dragon bestiary from our region. The turn came to the Aspid. I put it in the striking class. The dragon is medium-sized, but extremely dangerous. Its pungent breath corrodes surfaces, the dragon has high intelligence and powerful jaws. Aspid is a sprinter and develops high speed. There is sexual dimorphism! Males have a bright appendage on their head, which can be used to determine the age of the dragon.

Some general information: Aspid – in the mythology of the ancient Slavs, a winged serpent, the son (or incarnation) of Chernobog, commander of the shock legions of the dark host.

The aspid lives in the mountains and never lands on earth, as the Mother Earth refuses to carry this creature of darkness. At the same time, the Aspid is invulnerable, no weapon can defeat it, whether it is a red-hot arrow of a mortal or the hammer of Svarog himself.
