Forgotten/Httyd
Okay, so, they just showed httyd again on TV and I watched other episodes as well. It's my favorite and the top three. And so I decided to write a smaller series about hiccup x reader/Elara. Since my winx series is not very successful so far, I would appreciate any feedback, including this one. I just hope you enjoy it because I enjoy writing it!!. If you want a sequel, write!
summary: When Hiccup learns about Grimmer and his dragons, he must venture away from Blp to another island. He can't risk the lives of so many Vikings and dragons. They make their way to an island where Hiccup is constantly trying to find a hidden world. His dad constantly told him about him when he was a kid. There's only one problem. Half the Vikings believe him to exist and half don't. And the one who does not believe, tries her best to convince Hiccup to leave it and not seek him. When she releases Toothless and Bura's hidden world finally finds, she doesn't just find a lot of dragons there. But also a man he didn't expect for anything. His former supposedly dead best friend..
Tumblr media
prolog:
“Where are you going”? a blonde girl named Astrid called out to me. Slowly, very slowly, I approached the cliff with my belongings, beneath which stretched a wide blue never-ending ocean. “Like you ever care,” I turned to her and frowned. ``What do you mean? Of course I'm interested. We are friends” now Astrid frowned at me in return. I just smirked at that sentence. Friends? I don't even know what the word means anymore.
“Friends”? I asked Astrid to get the nod. “Hardly friends,” I chuckled even though tears were coming out of my eyes. As for that matter, Astrid frowned even more, but under her gaze I could see that she knew what I was talking about.
"Are friends lying to each other? They say it's a promise but they won't keep it”? I asked her again. I was referring to the situation that happened this morning.
*Flashback*
“Come on, girl,” I said, prompting my dragon to move from its place where it had been standing for half an hour, looking at the same place all the time. If it wasn't as big or heavy as the Skrills used to be, I would have pulled it away, or at least pushed it, but it didn't go that way by mistake.
“Maya,” I said in a frustrated voice, looking at her with a pleading look. Maya just stared and kept looking at the same place. I couldn't take it anymore, I went up to her and picked up the sheets that prevented me from seeing something Maya was looking at.
And that was Astrid and Hiccup. They sat together on the edge of a cliff, watching the sunset. They laughed together and Astrid had her hand draped over Hiccup's shoulder.
“You know,” Astrid said after a while. “Elara doesn't belong here,” she finished the sentence, looking for Hiccup. He also looked at her. ``What”? he asked. He clearly didn't understand. As he might as well. Only Astrid knew.``I mean. Elery's dad “started saying, and I started praying that she wouldn't say it. Astrid, don't do that.
“Please,” I whispered, hoping she hadn't said it. She made me a promise. “Vigo,” she finished the sentence, and Hiccup pulled away from her.
Astrid kept looking at him while he frolicked at the ocean. “Sure, he hasn't been here for a long time, but the last time he was here was when he brought the creeping red death. Didn't you find it strange? Offensive? How did Vigo know we were going to be here and where do we have corridors”? said Astrid, leaving Hiccup to reflect.
“No,” I whispered, letting my tears fall freely down my cheeks. How could she do that to me? She promised not to tell anyone. Everything in front of me was a blur, because of the constant tears. All I saw was Astrid leaning over to Hiccup and slowly kissing him. Astrid was the only one who knew who my real family was, but also the only one who knew about my crush on Hiccup.
From day one he was very nice and respected by everyone. And say. Having beaten so many hunters and always saved everyone, who wouldn't love him? I couldn't take it anymore, and Maya probably didn't either. She stuck her head on the floor. She grabbed me on her back, I sat in the saddle, and she took off. Tears were still dripping all the way down my cheeks.
If we'd flown a little longer, I'd have a pond instead of a saddle. I flew to the house where I used to be, collected all my things, and went away with Maya. On the way, Maya wandered off somewhere, so it looked like I was going alone. I also met Astrid with Hiccup, but Hiccup didn't even notice me. Obviously he was still next door from what Astrid told him.
He didn't even look at me out of the corner of his eye. Just nothing. Astrid turned around after a while, let Hiccup go home and ran after me.
*End flashback*
And now I was standing here. At the end of the cliff waiting for Maya to fly in with Astrid ahead of her. “I didn't want to,” Blonka said. “I had to,” she added, and I nodded at her ironically. You made a promise to me. But that word probably doesn't tell you anything,” I just said and jumped off the cliff where Maya was waiting for me just before the ocean.
I quickly jumped her into the saddle and she took off. I looked at Astrid for the last time and she flew away.
As soon as I left, Astrid ran to Hiccup's house. On the way, she jumped over a stream where she wet her eyes to make it look like she had them from tears. She flew into his house, and he didn't roll over from his chair. “Elera jumped off a cliff,” she said in a broken voice.
“She's dead Hiccup..”

Could you do #36 on the angst prompt list ("What's all this blood?") with Hiccup please :00? THANK YOU <3333
a/n: of course! i am so sorry this took so long to come out, i've been super unmotivated to write anything and i've recently been sitting my prelims, but my sister got covid so i've been at home and i'm back writing, kind of, lol. hope you enjoy! Warnings: blood, injury detail, language Words: 1.4K Prompt: "What's all this blood?" Gender-neutral reader.
Agony. You've never know pain this acute, pain so utterly horrible that you can barely stumble through the door to collapse on one of your chairs. It creaks under your weight, sliding across your wooden floor and almost causing you to topple off in your unbalanced state. Your breaths are laboured, uneven, and it's hard to even keep your eyes open enough to scan the room for anything to help. Pressing your hand against the wound on your stomach makes the pain even more unbearable, but you've been told before to apply pressure to wounds to stop the bleeding. This one doesn't seem to take the hint and continues to ooze blood all over your hand, and it's now that you notice the trail of blood leading in from your door. Shit, that's going to be a pain to clean. There's nothing around for you to clean the wound with. Well, there's a half-full bucket of water by the window but judging by how you can barely stay upright in the seat, there's no chance you'll be able to get it. As for any herbs to treat the wound and bandages... they're not even in the same room. A shiver runs down your spine. You're cold, freezing, and your skin feels clammy, like you've been dipped in some sort of oil. It's getting harder and harder to breathe, but you can't get up to get those damned supplies. Dear Odin, you're going to die. And then there's a knock, a soft little rapping on your door that you wouldn't have noticed if not for your dragon's head darting round to face it. A low growl comes from its mouth as the door is opened before it ceases, realising who's just entered. "Gods, y/n," Hiccup says, gaze fixed on the bloody trail leading through the hut. "What's all this blood? You go hunting or -" His eyes land on you, on the sheer amount of blood dripping from your hand, the same hand that is trembling so much you can barely keep the pressure on the wound. "What happened? Oh, gods, y/n, what -" "Get water," you manage to say, your voice sounding quieter, shakier, than you remember. It's a struggle to get the words out. "Water, herbs and bandages, please." Without a word, Hiccup darts up the stairs where he knows you keep most of your things, and you'd laugh at the sound of him clamouring about if it weren't for the sense of impending doom, of death waiting on your doorstep. You swear you can see her dark figure looming by the windows, lurking, waiting to pounce, and you can only pray to Hel to let you live. Hiccup rushes down the stairs, holding a roll of bandages and your small containers of herbs, ones Gothi convinced you to take before you all left to journey beyond the archipelago. He all but drops them onto the table before grabbing the bucket of water by your window and crouching by your side. "I'm going to take care of you," he promises. "You're going to be fine." Gently, he moves your hand away from the wound and, in a way, some of the pain is relieved, but the sickness you feel at the sight of your completely bloodied hand becomes overpowering. If not for your dragon on the other side of you, you would've toppled over, too weak to even sit up. "Deep breaths," Hiccup instructs, grabbing a rag and dipping it into the water. "You need to stay awake. Mind telling me what happened?" He's trying to sound calm, and you appreciate that more than he could ever know, but you can hear the worry laced within his tone, see the crease in his brows at each of your flinches and winces when the cold, wet rag touches your skin. "We were just out flying," you say slowly, fighting to stay conscious. Your stomach roils with dread. "Saw a ship, it looked pretty - ow!" "Sorry." "It looked pretty normal so we stayed on course and flew over it." Your face scrunches in pain as he cleans more blood away before dropping the bloodied rag on the table. "Ah! Get that off my clean table." A laugh bursts from him. "Okay, we're getting somewhere. You're shouting at me already. Carry on." He places your hand back on the wound and presses, silently instructing you to apply pressure, while he grabs a bowl and scatters some of the herbs in it.
You watch as he pours in a little of the water before mixing it all together into some kind of green paste. It's a shock that he knows how to do all of this. "They were dragon hunters," you say, taking deep breaths as your head spins. You still feel freezing, but you can feel the sweat clinging to you like a second skin. It's horrible. "The tried to shoot us down with... something. I don't know what. Whatever it was, they had terrible aim. They got me instead of the dragon." Hiccup takes your hand away from your wound again and, as soon as he applies the herbal paste, you hiss in pain, all but falling onto your dragon. It pushes you back up so that you're sitting, but the pain as he smears the paste over the gash is unbearable. Your hand weakly clenches the table and, unable to control it, tears start pricking at your eyes. Gods, what did you do to deserve this? "I need to lift up your shirt a bit more," he says, somehow keeping his voice steady. If the roles were reversed, you would've been freaking out. "I need to be able to get the bandage on." Nodding, you struggle to sit straight so he can pull your shirt up just to your ribcage. You risk a glance down at your side and, though all the blood is gone and the paste covers most of the gash, you can still see that it's a big wound, spanning from slightly under your ribcage to a little below your waist. The amount of blood you've probably lost... if you lose anymore there's no doubt that you'll die. He unrolls the bandage slightly before beginning to wrap it around your torso. It's comforting feeling the warmth of his skin on yours as he works the coarse material around you, so comforting that you could just close your eyes and... "Hey," Hiccup says. "I need you to stay awake, love, hear me? I can't risk losing you yet." In seconds, he's finished wrapping the bandage around you and is pulling your shirt back down. It's tight, uncomfortably so, but as soon as you try to loosen it, he pulls your hand away. "It needs to be tight," he says, "or it'll keep bleeding and the paste will move about." You lean back in the chair, limp. "It itches." A small laugh. Hands reaching under your legs and behind your back. "Come on. Let's get you in bed, huh? Then you can sleep. I'll get you some water, too." When he lifts you up, it almost feels like you're floating. A quiet giggle passes through your lips as your eyes flutter between open and shut. The pain, it's still there, and it hurts like shit, but something about this all seems funny though you couldn't say what. You're in your bed before you know it, looking up at Hiccup through half-shut lids. He's smiling softly now, no longer so worried about you being on the brink of death. That crease, the little lines between his brows, lingers still with the knowledge that anything could still happen. His healing skills are good, but what you probably need is Gothi, and you're all out of Gothi's on the Edge. "You'll be fine," he says gently, brushing your hair from your forehead and placing a cool rag atop it. "I'll be right here if you need me." A tired smile tugs at your lips. "Thank you, Hiccup." "Now you owe me," he jokes. "Next time, you save my life." And, as your eyes slowly flutter shut, he presses a soft yet intimate kiss on the back of your hand, only confirming that he is there and he will stay. "Hiccup the Healer," you mumble, your words barely coherent. You snort a tiny, tired laugh. "That's your new name."

For A Reason
a/n: onto some httyd now :)) rewatching scenes from the movies makes me want to go read the books again, even though they’re completely different, but i can assure you that this is movie-based. hope you enjoy!!
Warnings: none except fluff (and possibly cringe i’m not good at writing fluff :/) Words: 1K  Gender-neutral reader
Goosebumps raise on your skin as you soar through the sky on the back of your dragon. The sun is still rising, and the clouds are a beautiful pale orange that entrances you almost entirely, to the point where you hear nothing but the flapping of your dragon’s large wings and the singing of the soft spring breeze. Hiccup will be out looking for you soon, no doubt. He always appears around dawn and, though you don’t mind his presence (in fact, you love it), it’s nice to have the time to yourself. Things have been hectic and you need some time to adapt. Ever since dragons have been accepted on Berk, things have begun to change, naturally. Nearly everything you have grown so accustomed to has evolved to accommodate the large beasts now living in your village and, though you love your dragon with all your heart, it has been a struggle getting used to the change. Hiccup, your best friend who brought along the newfound bond between Vikings and dragons, adapted in mere seconds, but you supposed that it was fate. He was practically born to ride dragons, to tame them. On the other hand, you were not, and you were still struggling with that. “Y/n!” a voice calls distantly. You turn to look behind in the direction you’d come from and catch sight of the all-too-familiar Night Fury, Toothless. On his back is Hiccup, who grins from ear to ear as if he’d just won a game of hide-and-seek. “You’re up early,” he says as he reaches you, slowing Toothless down to match your slow glide - you were not planning on flying fast any time soon. “I’m always up at this time,” you quip. “And so are you. ‘Early’ is a construct.” Hiccup smiles. “Did you sleep okay?” You return the smile. “I suppose. This nitwit -” you pat your dragon on the neck - “wouldn’t stop waking me up, though. Did you?” “I did,” Hiccup says. “Toothless woke me up by jumping on the roof. He was excited to meet you guys out here.” Said dragon makes a rumbling sound that resembles laughter and bears his signature toothless grin. You look away from the duo and stare out at the ocean below you. Not even a year ago, you never thought it was possible to see the vastness of the water from a view other than that of a ship’s helm. You had never even dreamed of being able to confidently climb onto the back of a dragon and fly off towards uncharted lands, but here you were. Hiccup clears his throat and brushes his hair out of his face. “My dad was asking about you again.” “Oh, really?” You raise an eyebrow and look over at your friend. “What about?” “He’s just wondering how you’re coping,” Hiccup says. “He’s still sorry that you lost your parents.” You feel your heart clench a little at the fresh memory, but smile nonetheless. “It’s okay. It was fate and I’m okay with that, I think.” “You still believe in fate?” Hiccup asks, almost shocked. “I do.” You nod. “Everything happens for a reason. Every decision we make, every memory we gain, it all adds up to one final picture before we go to Valhalla.” You don’t often speak to Hiccup about these things; he prefers logic, much like your mutual friend Fishlegs. He always needs a definitive answer to things so he doesn’t go mad while you prefer to believe that everything is with purpose and will have its own course set by the gods. As much as Hiccup believes in gods, he never has such faith in them as you do, but you can’t blame him. If you had experienced what he had in his fifteen years, you’d want definitive answers, too. “Do you think we met for a reason?” Hiccup looks out onto the ocean, hands trailing across the dark scales of Toothless’ neck. You smile softly. “Of course I do. We might not know why yet, but I believe we were meant to find each other.” That makes Hiccup smile, and the sight of his mussed-up hair and excited green eyes is enough to send your heart soaring faster and higher than Toothless ever could. You hope you and Hiccup met for the same reason that leaves you smiling as you fall asleep; the same reason that makes your heart sprout wings and glide through the clouds. You hope and pray and wish that you and Hiccup are to be something more than what you are now and, if fate is what you hope, you are certain you can be. “The gods brought us together by will,” you say, staring out at the clouds. “I trust in their judgement and if I have to walk through Valhalla just to find out what it is, then so be it.” Hiccup glances at you. “You’re really into this, aren’t you?” You laugh and lean forwards, resting against your dragon’s neck. Your eyes are set on your friend, watching as the wind ruffles his clothes and turns his nose and cheeks a soft shade of red, “All for a reason,” you say, which makes Hiccup laugh. The two of you gaze at each other for a little longer, eyes locked and smiles mirrored. Hiccup leans forward onto Toothless’ neck, much like you have with your dragon, and reaches out his hand. You extend your arm out and grasp his hand softly, once again shocked at the callouses underneath his skin, though it made sense since he’d worked with Gobber in the forges a lot of his life. “Hiccup?” you say. Your friend hums in response, eyes still completely trained on you. “I like you.” Hiccup seems to jolt at that and, for a second, you’re scared you shouldn’t have said it. You release his hand and prepare for the worst, but Hiccup reaches for your hand again. “I like you, too,” he says, red-faced. “For a reason - for a lot of reasons.” And you can’t help but smile at the fate you’ve lucked out on.
