I’ve been spending most of this last week adding little details for the demo. Above are some examples of the Research entries for the main trio and Tawantinsuyu. These aren’t final, of course, as you can see there are many inconsistencies. These will be fixed later on.
I’m also adding in the tutorials (in the Research tab; they aren’t forced on the player), double checking items and enemy drops, balancing the first and second bosses.
I appreciate the new followers! Thank you so much for joining the journey!

Hey, if you are the simp of Kinjis... And I would like to know what HC has about him, and some opinions I guess, is one of the characters with religious beliefs that I like after Ismene and Angie, as a trio they would be interesting maybe
Simp of Kinjis (and Ismene)? You're gonna want @kanaenya for this one. But I'll give my own two cents about Kinji!
But anyways: I headcanon Kinji to be gay and nonbinary (and possibly aroace-spec), using he/hymn pronouns. I also believe him to be an excellent baker, who makes only the meanest of bread. He's also a good singer, used to leading and singing in church choirs!
(I also have a lot of fun imagining him in the "Magic" and "The Purge March" MVs from MILGRAM!)
In terms of personal opinions, I found him to be a pretty cool and kindhearted guy and a great example of a sympathetic Chapter 3 killer (brutal murder methods aside).
And religious friend group real!

What kind of music do the constructicons listen to:
Exactly what the title says
Be warned: insane levels of brain rot
Hook: He refuses to listen to human music, he thinks it is inferior and it rusts one's processor. If you indulge in its artless melodies and thoughtless lyrics you're betraying your own superior culture. IF he were to give human music a chance he'd be into EDM and his favorite artist would be Britney Spears, not only for her performance, but he would find the lyrics sadly relatable (his favorite song and MV would be Break the Ice.).
However, he would never come to listen to it. So if you ask him what he likes to listen to he would straight-up lie and say the only palatable music for him is that of cybertronian orchestras. He doesn't identify with any music from his planet and culture but he gotta keep appearances amirite??
Scavenger: He likes church choirs only because they remind him of old-cybertronian religious hymns. (he actually knows how to sing them, but no one appreciates it - well, Hook kinda does, but he only says that the traditional cybertronian culture needs to be respected).
Mixmaster: he likes dubstep.
Long Haul: He is one of those weirdos who don't listen to music, like at all. He says it's a waste of time and he has better things to do. If you ask him what's his favorite song he'll say brown noise.
Scrapper: The whole reason I made this post. Scrapper LOVES the oldies, from Frank Sinatra to The Ink Spots. HOWEVER, his favorite singer has to be Bobby Darin, he adores all of Darin's discography. Not only does he listen to it, but he has to sing it too and oh boy, he sings it a LOT (even though he can't hit any of the notes). He sings it while casually shooting Autobots down, dumping hot oil on protoforms, preparing body parts for a new project, and of course, he lovingly sings it to his gestalt mates! (he has a heart too, you know?)
The reason he is so fascinated by these kinds of songs is because they're so far removed from cybertronian culture. Love songs declaring eternal love or melodramatic breakup songs are NOT common on Cybertron‒so it's novel, different, and well, maybe he is a romantic at heart (or spark :P ).
His favorite songs to sing are: Mack the Knife, Beyond the Sea, Just In Case You Changed Your Mind, and Call Me Irresponsible.
Bonecrusher: The only music BC enjoys are Kaonian Folk songs, music made by the people for the people. These songs are obviously passed down orally and often depict the common experiences of a Kaonian‒from working in the mines, fighting in Gladiator rings, and losing a loved one to famine and/or illness. He knows how to sing all of them, but good luck making him do so.

just rewatched all of the alien stage mvs twice in a row so here are my rankings for the songs. this is Just for the songs, not for the animations/character moments, which is a totally separate thought process for me
Unknown(Til the End): i just. love the rhythm of this one. it's so raw and feral. the beat feels really good and the vocalist has such a real edge to his voice that feels so desperate
Ruler Of My Heart: i accidentally watched this one first before watching the rest of alien stage so I was confused but also overwhelmingly entranced even without full context. there's something very haunting about it
My Clematis: i need to be clear that all three of these songs are so, so so close on this list. the lesbian hymn vibes of this song are so off the charts.
Black Sorrow: this is actually the only one I'm not super into. I think Ivan is fascinating and i love his tragic gay pining backstory but his song was pretty eh for me. i don't feel like rewatching this one when i go back and relisten to all the songs usually

Etienne’s Top Fives of 2022: Kpop Edition - Boy Groups
We’re on to Boy Groups as I continue down my list from the roundup post. This has in some ways been the hardest category to narrow down, specifically the order of 2nd-4th and who got the 5th spot (there’s a reason I’ve got 2 honorable mentions).
If a boy group has had subunits or members doing things solo, I consider that part of the group’s body of work for the year as long as they’ve also done some full group stuff. If only a subunit has been active, they’d probably get considered a boy group for the sake of this, and if only solos have been active, then they’d go in with solos.
The list with representative MVs is under the cut!
There were so many boy groups that did at least something that I enjoyed this year, including some that I hadn’t enjoyed anything from up until now. I think that part of the reason decisions this year were hard was that this was just an outstanding year for releases overall. Here’s a list of groups with songs that stood out for me this year in about the order that I heard them that didn’t make the list below: Up10tion (“Crazy About You” / "What If Love"), Onewe (“Universe” / "Montage" / "Still Here"), Drippin (“Villain” / “Zero” / “The One”), AB6IX (“1, 2, 3”), BtoB (“The Song”), Nu’est (“Again” disbandment song), Kingdom (“Ascension”), Ghost9 (“X-ray”), Just B (“Re=Load”), TXT (“Good Boy Gone Bad”), MCND (“W.A.I.1” < first time I’ve liked one of their songs), Vanner ("Rollin"), E’last (“Creature"), Omega X (“Play Dumb” < first song I’ve liked by them), TheBoyz (“Sweet” / “Timeless” / “Whisper”), Golden Child (Replay”), Epex (“Hymn to Love”), P1harmony (“Doom Du Doom” < first song I’ve liked by them), and CIX (“458”).
Honorable Mention: Stray Kids
“Maniac” https://youtu.be/OvioeS1ZZ7o
If you’d asked me a few months ago, Stray Kids probably would have been making my top 5 hands down. I saw them live and they were amazing! They did a lot that I liked early in the year musically. I... didn’t like Maxident and especially the MV for “Case 143″ at all though (there’s... one song I thought was OK on the album), and it probably impacted their place here. I still love them! They’re among my top groups, but I was reminded that their music is hit and miss for me. It is good going back and listening to “Maniac” and remembering that I do love a lot of their music. I really wish that Maxident hadn’t felt so rushed for me because it definitely dampened my appreciation of their overall body of work for the year. They are incredible live though! And I appreciate that I’ve gained friends both on here and in real life over them.
Biases: Han, Lee Know, Seungmin
Honorable Mention: Ateez
“Halazia” https://youtu.be/SszP3hlQ55Y
Ateez came into this year for me riding the high of “Turbulence” that is probably to date my favorite of their songs, and I had high expectations. Their music so far this year has been interesting, but noting has quite caught me the way some of last years releases did. They were in very tight contention for making it into the 5th place, thus why I have these honorable mentions. I am very interested to see where they take their music and storylines next, and “Halazia” (linked above) was probably my favorite thing that they did this calendar year, it’s definitely an interesting sound and it may honestly grow on me further with more listens.
Biases: Seonghwa, Yeosang
5) Cravity
youtube
This has been a killer year for Cravity! I loved “Adrenaline” and enjoyed “Vivid” earlier in the year. They had a song all in English that I liked with “Boogie Woogie” (a rarity for me, often understanding lyrics impedes me ability to enjoy songs that I like auditorily). “Party Rock” (above) was definitely my favorite of their releases this year! It gets stuck in my head, it’s so catchy. I definitely replayed it a ton right after it came out too! Cravity has flirted with being on these lists since debut, but I think that the last time they made it on one was their rookie year (granted, they’ve not been around that long). I think that they’ve finally started to hit their stride, and I’m really hoping for more of them embracing this sound!
Biases: Jungmo, Minhee
4) Oneus
youtube
I’ve liked them since debut to some extent, and I’d properly fallen for Oneus as a group with “Luna” last year, but “Same Scent” and the entire Malus album was kind of what tipped them over from a group that I loved to one of my top groups. I had Malus on repeat for weeks. They’ve had a rough go of the past few months (don’t really feel like talking about this, I do have opinions, but it’s not a conversation I’m interested in having at this time), but they’ve had amazing performances since then. And I thought that they couldn’t make “Same Scent” better than it already is, and then they just recently released the traditional version (https://youtu.be/pIVfLX8zW00 warning has flashing lights), and it somehow makes the song even better. I love how they use traditional instrumentation and sound in their songs somewhat regularly!
Biases: Seoho, Leedo, Hwanwoong (I am aware that’s over half the group, no I will not narrow it down)
3) OnlyOneOf
youtube
I’m breaking my own pattern a little bit by putting “ズルい女“ (their Japanese MV) as the representative song, but it was my favorite of their full group pieces this year, and I think that it shows their choreo and how they make music, even covers, their own really beautifully. The real thing that put’s OnlyOneOf this high on the list is their body of queer work with the member solos this year in the “be” / “undergrOund idOl” series. “skinz” was important to me conceptually, but it’s one of my least favorite OnlyOneOf songs, and I feel like “ズルい女“ is more interesting to me than “Suit Dance.” I like their songs as a body of work immensely in general though! For the biggest reason that I put them on here, see the “be” series:
Yoojung’s “begin” https://youtu.be/MBx_9nygxaQ
KB’s “be free” https://youtu.be/WkKU-9VnNRU
Junji’s “be mine” https://youtu.be/fzEZeQBvVA0 (close contender for being my favorite)
Rie’s “because” https://youtu.be/6u_nwPzf3pI (my favorite, I love this song so much)
Mill’s “beat” https://youtu.be/H6qN9QFrOJs
Nine’s “beyOnd” is upcoming early in January 2023
They are exquisite storytellers in their MVs, and they have committed to telling compelling queer stories. They have incredible cinematic references throughout their MVs, and I just can’t praise their work enough as a whole! I have made so many posts about their storytelling and queer elements in their work, if you want to see more of my thoughts on them, just go digging through my OnlyOneOf tag.
Biases: Rie, Junji
2) Enhypen
youtube
It’s funny to me looking back that Enhypen didn’t make it onto these lists earlier. I was aware of them, and knew that I had some connections to them that made them appealing to me. (The one that I talk about more is that I watched Sunghoon and followed his career as a figure skater, I think that he actually made onto one of my figure skating lists when he was in juniors. There’s another one that’s more important, but that I don’t talk about as publicly.) I love the sound that Enhypen’s been living in recently, but they’ve overall had a sound that I’ve enjoyed from the start. I am very excited to see how they keep developing in the future! While I linked “Blessed-Cursed” above as my representative song for them (I’ve been going back to it consistently since it came out in January, it well deserves the spot), I want to also emphasize how much I loved “One In A Billion” (https://youtu.be/_ATqY9GFRh0) and “I Need the Light” (https://youtu.be/Pfq37N3eA7g) both of which are (at least kind of) OSTs.
Biases: Jay, Sunoo, Jungwon
1) Seventeen
youtube
Seventeen have been my favorite boy group since they debuted, and they show no signs of stopping that trend any time soon. I’ve loved their releases this year, among them another solo from Junhui with “Limbo” (https://youtu.be/k0sKWlEhVRk) which was a change from his usual emotional ballad fare, but let him show off his dancing and make an MV that was just incredibly gender. I also have a new favorite Seventeen song, dethroning “Home” in it’s long rein, with “Shadow.” I got to see them live this summer, and Redeim only partially managed to capture me losing my mind over them performing “Shadow” live. Their albums this year have been spectacular, and as always, I cannot wait to see what they decide to do next. I hope that I get to see them live many more times in the future (and if you get the chance to do it, they’re an experience).
Biases: Junhui, Wonwoo, Woozi
I would love to chat about any of the groups on this list! I had such a hard time narrowing this down to 5 this year, and it probably would have been easier to do a top 10. There was so much good music this year!

Critical review high road japanese deluxe by Kesha 🍜🐪
High Road really defined the pre-pandemic January and February for me, it's such a great album. Some people say it's a combination of the party Ke$ha and the vulnerable Kesha of Rainbow but.... The Harold Song, Blind, Hungover, Last Goodbye, Boogie Feet, Let 'Em Talk and many other songs show that she has been able to do it all along. I think what makes this album truly special is the fact that more or less, it's the first time she has been allowed to truly let loose in her music. Sure, she's had a lot of her whimsical moments in her first three albums (which I adore) but she's either had something to prove or had to answer to him.
High Road is an absolute mess in the best way. Tonight is a stellar opening track, and a stellar song in general. My Own Dance is a bit weak and I'd relegate it to a deluxe track but I do appreciate what it stands for. Raising Hell was panned by fans upon release and I never got why, it's literally so good, taking Hymn (a song that changed my life)'s theme and tackling it with a delightful devil-may-care attitude that really works for me. Also the MV is AMAZING.
The title track is one of her best songs ever, easily. Truly the best possible representation of the album and her in general: self-indulgent, messy, loud, in your face, fiercely individualistic, more willing to flip you off and drive away than fight. I really relate to it.
Shadow is a fine song, the message is nice but I do think it's a bit of a waste of a track. Could be a bonus track.
Honey was my fave on my first listens and is still in my top 3. I don't think I can say anything that can do it justice so i'll just say GOOGLE ME BITCH!
Cowboy Blues is her ending Taylor Swift at her own game on her first try. DID I FUCK MY WHOOOOOLE LIFEEE UP
Resentment is a gorgeous song, Little Bit Of Love is so euphoric, I really love belting it, especially liking the whole.... delivery, her being drunk/sad in the verses and then BELTING the chorus, LOVE IT.
Kinky is amazing although the intro is a biiit unnecessary KINDA SWEET STUFF KINDA FREAKY BITTY SHIT YOU CAN TRUST ME I CAN BE A KINKY BITCH SAY YOU CAN'T TURN A HOE INTO A HOUSEWIFE WELL WHO WANTS A HOUSEWIFE WHO AIN'T A HOE SOMETIMES? I LIKE IT KINDA SLOW AND SWEET SOMETIMES I LIKE IT WHEN YOU'RE BEGGING ON YOUR KNEES SOMETIMES ON YOUR BED IN THE CAR AT YOUR BEST FRIEND'S PARTY BABY YOU-
changed lives.
Potato Song (Cuz I Want To) is her Store. It's such a fun song that I feel really describes her (and me) as a person and she just.....doesn't care if you like it, fuck you if you don't like it. Amazing.
BFF is amazing, Father Daughter Dance is devastating, Chasing Thunder makes me feel free and Summer is just euphoric.
Haven't listened to Big Bad Wolf much, it's reminding me of something that would be on Cannibal, it's nice but it really is a bonus track.
Amazing if a little flawed, High Road is probably my album of the year along with Dedicated Side B and Manic.

THINGS MY FRIENDS AND I LEARNED/REALIZED WHILE RE-WATCHING MAMMA MIA (and other assorted thoughts):
Bill is into BDSM
They did a good job at making a pretty explicitly gay character despite it being 2008
Harry is actually a pretty sad character because he didn't get to have the family he wanted, due to being closeted and/or repressed
Bill likely figured out Harry was gay before Harry did himself—which made that scene all the better because I only remembered it as the "Bill's ass" scene
Sophie and Donna inexplicably know a lot of British people
The movie has a really awesome view on older people's sexualities, especially women's. Donna is not once treated as lesser for having had sex with three men in a short timespan, and when she shames herself for it, her friends (and eventually her daughter) immediately come to her side and cheer her up and reassure her that she is no less for having a lot of sex
Furthermore, while Tanya is very openly a sexual character and a comedic one, it is not the idea that a woman is sexual that makes her funny. She has autonomy and power and she is very loving. She's never treated as a has-been, but rather a woman with a lot of experience and stories, who is still unashamedly sexual.
ABBA are gods in this universe. I mean it. In the credits scene, the characters look up to the sky and see Björn holding a lyre(?) and wearing a wreath. The island is considered to be blessed by Aphrodite—or perhaps Anni-Frid. All the characters inexplicably know the tunes and lyrics to the same songs, as if they're hymns passed down through generations.
No seriously I really like that interpretation and it answers a question I've had about this universe for a while
And again I cannot emphasize how much I love the celebration of older people's sexuality!!!
This movie came out when my friends and I were 3–5 years old, so to me, 20 seemed like a perfectly fine age to get married... but now that I'm an adult myself, I absolutely see how it's very young and I understand Donna's concern
The somewhat strained relationship between mother and child hits hard for me. The arguing and lack of understanding but always being there to cuddle or help get ready... my mom went through that with her mom, and I went through that with her.
Colin Firth has a really sweet singing voice and Pierce Brosnan's is very nice too
The clothing used in the credits scene is (apart from Sophie's outfit) clearly heavily inspired by the clothing worn in the Waterloo (and Ring, Ring) music video. But it's like... Waterloo MV Requiem. You thought ABBA didn't have enough sparkles and sequins? Behold these swaggy-ass outfits.
As an autistic person, the Voulez-Vous scene hits really close to home. The sensory overload is palpable and I get stressed when watching it—and that's a good thing. The movie is incredible at making its viewers feel what the characters are feeling.
good movie

Demo is out now! Thank you to everyone following the project!
I can’t say exactly when I will start work on Chapter 2, as I’d love to dip my hands into a few more gamejams for a few months, maybe just enjoy the holidays a bit, but please give us a follow if you want to keep track of Hymn of the Inca! :) Chapter 2, maybe even chapter 3, will come out in 2023!
I am planning 1 more free demo so it includes a few chapters, then after that it will be purely updates until the game is done. I’m guessing the game will hover around 8 chapters plus post-game content, since that’s usually where my work settles.
Thank you again, please enjoy the demo!

[speaker emoji] the three main characters of Crimson Peak. independently or in any pairing configuration you care to explore.
Yeeeeeesssssssssss
Lucille - I was thinking of all the songs that we’ve discussed that say so much about Lucille and her character and that could explore the nuances of who she is and what makes her tick…. and then I saw “Surface Pressure” on my search history and it broke me so much I had to.
Encanto 2: Luisa snaps.
Keeping with this horrific trend of Disney Princess Lucille, because of a certain crack vid of mine that’s still in progress, “Let it Go.”
“Here I am in the light of day” VS “It’s all out in the open now.” Coincidence? I think not.
The Problematic Siblings in General:
Nothing Else Matters, Metallica (possibly with Edith.)
Anywhere, Evanescence (for them being young and trying to run away before…well.)
Edith:
Breathe, Fleurie
Lucille/Edith:
Hypnotic, Zella Day. For…a MV I might or might not be planning.
Karliene, “Become the Beast”
OT3: “Hymn of Axciom”. You know why.

Nayeon's title song and album are cute. It is not the cunt hymn we deserved but at least it is not bad. The MV for the title track was definetely a "let us dress the pretty girl in a lot of outfits because she is pretty" MV... I would have personnally loved something with a more intricate theme... you know a little more storytelling but i understand the song doesn't really call for that. Overall, not bad but not that interesting either.
I totally get it. I've low-key gave up on mv being interesting lately. Companies know that the shit will be brought anyway...

rhaenicent are so illiterate, take me to church cant apply to rhaenyra, she never followed the faith of the seven aka the catholic church.
and yeah, i can agree that the mv strongly implies a homosexual relationship but the male pov character (aka hozier himself) clearly uses female pronouns to address his romantic interest? it's the most lannicest song in existence if I've ever heard one??? and i personally wouldn't associate it with daemyra either, but I don't think there's any doubt that it has jaime/cersei written all over it. plus, as i said, it's not even a new thing, this has been pretty much common knowledge in the fandom since 2014 roughly lol just like "young and beautiful" or "bedroom hymns", i mean??? hello????

media release: EPEX Releases 5th EP, Prelude of Love Chapter 2: Growing Pains
Tumblr media
EPEX has made a comeback with their 5th EP, Prelude of Love Chapter 2. Growing Pains. This EP serves as a direct continuation of the story being told in their previous releases BIPOLAR Pt. 2 Prelude of Love and Prelude of Love Chapter 1. Puppy Love. Prelude of Love Chapter 2. Growing Pains details the process of boys going through their first breakup. Track by track, the EP takes you through the different stages of emotions one goes through during their first heartbreak.
“It’s a comeback after six months since “Hymn to Love,” so I’m very nervous. I like the atmosphere of our title song, so I’m even more excited about the comeback. We hope that ZENITH will look forward to us as much as we prepared with love and hard work.” - BAEKSEUNG, member of EPEX
“I’m happy and excited to show our fans our new concept and music. Even though it is the 4th comeback, our trembling and anticipating hearts have become clearer. We will make more comebacks with diverse concepts in the future, but as this moment will never return, we will do our best for this comeback.” - WISH, leader of EPEX
The EP includes four new tracks, with the title track called “여우가 시집가는 날 (Sunshower).” It tells the story of a boy who is going through a painful breakup for the first time. “여우가 시집가는 날 (Sunshower)” is an up-tempo Pop-Dance song featuring funky guitar beats, a fresh brass sound and the EPEX members’ energetic vocals.
