I woke up in the morning with a splitting headache and a serious hangover feeling - but actually all I did was having hotpot with my friends the night before, didn’t drink enough water and slept one hour late than usual (i.e. at 10:30 pm). And the black coffee I had surely didn’t help.

as a fandom old it is kind of funny to see how Baldur's Gate 3 is going through the same fandom phases as like Dragon Age or Mass Effect.

We are now firmly on the discourse path (after having been through the happy endings and kids phase) and Larian gets shit from all sides, characters are reduced to bare bones in fandom discussions, shipping certain ships is controversial, liking certain characters is controversial and/or mainstream, bisexuality does not exist...

Have we already crossed into "you are a bad human being for liking xyz" yet?

I have read that the latest denial is to make the GP focus on Louis by association with H.

While I can understand why tabloids and magazines do it for clicks, I am not entirely sure it is doing any good for Lou and his ticket sales or for recognition.

Am I the only one who would like him to be recognised for his talent, for his uniqueness and for the gift that he shares through his music and lyrics - and not through association with another fantastic singer, just because of conspiracies on their relationship?

okay but really though i don’t get why there’s such a rush to find a replacement for twitter, even ignoring that it’s absolutely nightmarish that so many people are reflexively signing up for an app that’s banned in the EU it’s like. twitter sucked? twitter made all of our lives measurably worse? especially on the artist side, like, that was a site that found a new way to be actively harmful to artists - especially working artists - in a new way every single week, such that the handful of people that were able to make a livelihood out of it were also practically killing themselves over trying to beat the algorithm and survive the Content Grind, even before they started making any art

on top of that you could just directly link it to the death of nuance online, to so many baseless harassment campaigns, to so much empowering of bad actors and the sorts of people that actually, willfully, cause wide-scale harm - things that might have been incidental at first but very quickly became the entire established purpose of the website

i genuinely don’t expect any of its replacements to leave those features behind
