“You just dislike Dinbo because Bo-Katan is a woman!” No actually I dislike it because I think Bo-Katan deserves better - in general, but also - than to be relegated to Din Djarin’s love interest

the most infuriating thing about the Roy-Keeley-Jamie love triangle (other than everything) is that I would have believed Roy with the kindergarten teacher and I also would have believed Jamie with Roy’s sister so there was. no reason. to leave the resolution of the triangle up in the air. we didn’t need to leave anyone out in the cold. let Keeley pick, and then give us a snapshot meetcute of the other couple! that’s all it would have taken!

On anon bc this is a personal topic but THANK YOU for your tags on the body hair post. It was driving me insane. I shave because of sensory issues and that's literally it. I have a cis male partner and he is very aware I do not shave for him, but because I'm autistic and the physical feeling of having body hair makes me want to d*e. Like yes!! It's great that we're challenging beauty norms!!! but also I feel like saying women only do "feminine" things to appeal to men is still taking our power away in a sense
yep. like i do understand the whole shaving vs not shaving from like. a feminist standpoint but so many paint it as just a feminist thing, and they just flip the script instead of actually supporting body positivity. it’s so obvious that they’re not really about supporting actual body positivity, and the shame they heap on woman who do remove hair just feels so off to me :/ like it comes across as if they don’t think sensory issues in that regard are a thing, or they act like you personally removing hair is an affront to all women.
bodily autonomy extends to people doing things to themselves one might personally find not their vibe, and until that’s fully accepted by someone, that person doesn’t fully support bodily autonomy. saying a woman should never shave because otherwise she ‘looks bare’ is still body shaming
Tumblr media
how the fuck is this an acceptable thing to say about someone’s body?? it’s so fucking disgusting to say that someone else’s body ‘jumpscares you’. like how fucking gross is that to say??? there’s no circumstance in which it’s okay to say that?! how are you not ashamed to say such a thing? not to mention a healthy dose of biphobia!
also the shit about coats and sweaters rubs me wrong
Tumblr media Tumblr media
why imply that a lack of hair makes someone naked? huh? what’s so bad about nakedness that you’re implicitly shaming it??
body shaming isn’t cool just because you’re slamming what’s considered normal. stop being fucking weird about other people’s bodies and stop acting like a woman’s choices are anti feminist because they’re doing what makes them happy
beauty norms can really suck but there’s ways to subvert them that don’t include dragging people down and implying motives that haven’t been declared 🤷🤷

Throwback to NaNoWriMo last year, where, instead of starting on my project, I spent the first three days writing 20+ pages of Top Gun/Top Gun Maverick headcanons 😂

It’s the hypocrisy for me because if people are gonna complain about the show whitewashing Rhaenyra and Daemon (tbh I wouldn’t be so sure about Daemon since the show had him kill his first wife which may not have happened in the book and erased some of his more redeeming qualities like his relationship with Laena but w/e) then maybe they shouldn’t have been showering so much praise at the writers for doing the absolute mother of all character rehabilitations on Alicent instead keeping her as a one-dimensional evil stepmother who makes snide remarks about her teen stepdaughter possibly being groomed. Because that characterization for Alicent would’ve been far more ~accurate~ to the source material but I don’t believe that’s actually what y’all care about.
Then there’s all the call outs about the show’s handling of the Velaryons as black and how insensible it has come off as, which don’t get me wrong, is completely true but I didn’t see y’all concerned when the show took the canonical close relationship with romantic undertones that Laena (now played by a black woman) had with Rhaenyra and gave it instead to Alicent. On the contrary y’all were praising the show to the moon and back and gushing about the “lesbian divorce drama” so again, not so concerned about the source material or black characters being mistreated and sidelined, are we?
And just to be clear, the show could have turned Daemon and Rhaenyra into mustache-twirling villains with no redeeming or sympathetic qualities whatsoever and Alicent and Aegon could be innocent angels who have never done anything wrong in their lives and guess what? The throne would still be Rhaenyra’s by rights. Yes, the Dance of the Dragons is a horrible conflict caused by a bunch of morally reprehensible nobles veering for power and willing to do despicable things in order to achieve it, and yet at the heart of the matter remains the fact that society is sexist and simply Won’t Let A Woman Rule. Rhaenyra was the heir and was usurped by Aegon because of misogyny, everything that happened afterwards doesn’t negate that simple truth.
But anyways, none of that matters because f&b is an unreliable source and we can’t trust anything it says ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so yes Rhaenyra is in every single way better than her younger half-brother, who’s a pathetic little wet-rag r*pist, and the green fraction is gonna support that pathetic little wet-rag r*pist because they hate women and children born outside the sanctity of marriage that much. Galaxy brain level take on the writers’ part. Truly immaculate lmfao.

Curse Servant concept: Foreigner Draupadi with her being possessed by C'thalpa
Tumblr media
Given what they did w Yang Guifei that wouldn’t even surprise me. That being said she had 5 kids not six so it wouldn’t be a perfect matchup. Not that that’s ever stopped fate before
Honestly I get worried about draupadi getting put in fate for a lot of reasons esp bc even if they don’t do weird stuff with her origin there’s a very good chance they’ll look at things that say ‘yeah the inciting event for the kurukhestra war was her humiliation and desire for justice’ and be like ‘ah so all those deaths were her fault and her fault alone. Got it. Time to make weird comments abt her being tainted and obsessed with vengeance and sexualize the shit out of her despite her being a sa survivor’ which just. Leaves a very bad taste in my mouth because they’ve done similar things before in varying degrees and it’s definitely more complex than that, but how they’ve angled the war so far makes it seem like one where they want to remove the nuance to…idk make it more pro-kaurava? Or they’d do some wack shit like ‘she and karna were Secretly in Love’ or ‘she resented having 5 husbands’ or whatever and just. Idk man I don’t want to see that
And even if they DID write her perfectly and she was a fully realized human being given the respect she deserves the fandom is obsessed with ntr and goblin r*pe and I can’t deal with the knowledge people would put her in some scenario like that w/o understanding every guy who thought they could try shit like that ended up getting literally dismantled.

the fact that the last two things el focuses on when she’s standing up against brenner, confronting him about the suffering he put her and the people she cares about through, are the memories of her mother and henry being tortured. this is in the same scene where she implies that brenner was irresponsible for letting henry care for the kids bc of his violent nature; she is able to see the duality of him being “dangerous” and prone to violent outbursts, while still viewing him as an abuse victim who didn’t deserve the treatment he was given by dr. brenner. and idk i just think that’s a really mature mindset on her part, and really shows just how compassionate she is as a person
