I thought you lived in Japan? Sorry if not, my memories might be a bit jumbled.
I do! 👍🏻

Idk who watches Foundation (I don't) but apparently in the 3rd season they are going to run around naked on a rooftop.
I only know this because for months I've been hearing about the Americans going to record some film at my mum's workplace and now that they're finally shooting, apparently it's for this series.

Don't make fun of any accents, ever, for any reason.
The person on the receiving end will most likely fall in at least one of three categories:
Second language
Regional accent
Speech impediment
1. Second language
This person is probably speaking in this language to you because either you don't speak their mother tongue or you speak it worse than they speak the language you are speaking. They are making an effort for you. An accent doesn't make you dumb.
Making fun of someone for attempting to communicate in another language is the height of assholery.
2. Regional accent
Half the time you make fun of regional accents, you make fun of historically disenfranchised accents.
Southern accents? Congrats you're making fun of the way rural, usually poor, people speak. Their speech was highly influenced by black people.
Don't even get me started on making fun of AAE.
Again, an accent doesn't make you any less intelligent.
3. Speech impediment
They know they have a speech impediment. They are probably trying very hard not to sound like that. It is literally not their fault. They have had to deal with people making fun of it their whole life.
A speech impediment doesn't make you less intelligent either.

To live in Greece means to be surprised when politicians resign after a tragedy (more than 50 dead) their corrupted system caused.
Some Greeks I was around at the time were so shocked Karamanlis resigned that they congratulated him through the screen..... Congratulate a man because he did the bare minimum and took the responsibility that was his in the first place. A responsibility about something VERY basic that should have existed in our train system for DECADES. (Others are also responsible for it but the current one was currently in a position to prevent this)
Bottom line, the system is so corrupted and so deep in the influence of criminal rings that the higher-ups getting inconvenienced when people die is a first for us. A thing to be commended.
The tragedy could have been a human error solely - the accused also claimed he tried to move the rail but it didn't budge - but a human shouldn't be given that much responsibility to begin with! In 2023, instead of warning traffic lights and electronic systems, we have mostly humans communicating through wireless comms about the position of the trains throughout the country! They might as well text each other on Viber and be like "the train reached Kalamata, we are fine"
That's obviously not the whole picture but I am too pissed off rn to give a damn
--- Don't start with "it's basically the same here" if you are from an Anglophone or NW European country because 99% of the times I read such comments, turns out the speaker has no measure of comparison. You already have the most basic decorum, safety measures, and policies in place we can only dream of and beg for decades to have here. While no country is perfect or without problems, we've been asking for years to reach your level because down here at our level it's even shittier.

my doctor asked if she could refer me to a neurologist bcuz of my lifelong problems & symptoms etc and I was like sure whatever but it turns out the waitlist for the only neurologist is TWO YEARS LONG like whats even the point then. WHY EVEN REFER ME!!!!! who is like yeah i have neurological problems and my brain is broken but its not biggie i can totally wait two years :). then again this is the same healthcare system that makes people wait 6+ months for cancer treatment or appointments while they are slowly dying so im not shocked

this dialogue made me think about rook drugging darling just so that he can 'admire' their beauty in a more natural/unobstructed state;;
this new book has made me fall into brainrot for him aaa like his determination!!! his preparedness!!! i adore him sm 😭💗
The moment I read it I was shocked, but then I realized that this is Rook and I should not be so surprised... ^^;;; he would absolutely drug his darling just to see them at their most vulnerable and peaceful! He finds it so naturally beautiful. It's like admiring the subject in a portrait. Silence and stillness are just as beautiful as energetic movement and sound! He absolutely watches you for each hour that you remain unconscious, so wrapped up in your beauty that time doesn't matter.
I have become even more of a Rook fan with book six omg!!!! Every time he chuckles, it feels like my heart is pierced with an arrow... such a charming laugh he has!! I like how he was so ready to journey to find Vil, even if the main reason was to deliver skincare products lol;;; his unique magic is also so wonderful. He claims it isn't very powerful, but that sort of magic is a stalker's dream.\(º □ º l|l)/ and he gave the player a Pomefiore uniform to combat the windy chill of a long flight!!!! A gentleman, that Rook!!!! Always so prepared and never one to give up in his travel pursuits!
