when you first met his parents, you were so nervous. you felt like they were judging you—which they were but they opened up to you once you started hanging out over there more. rio definitely showed you his baby pictures and told you his whole childhood. you found it cute when miles got embarrassed.

he loves taking you on arcade dates, he has a photo album labeled ‘video game lover ❤️’ with all the pics from there. and you both have lots of pictures from the photo booth. when you two go to claw machines, you’d be the one who’s winning them for him. (🙌🏽)

“baby, we’ve done the photo booth like a million times!” miles groaned as you dragged him to the photo booth, again. it’s not that he doesn’t mind taking pictures with you, it’s just you get over ten pictures in one day.

you rolled your eyes and kept walking towards the machine. “so? what’s wrong with having lots of photos of us? you have like a bunch of me.” you argued.

mumbling, he followed after you. he wasn't exactly looking forward to this. at the same time, he got to spend time with his girlfriend, so he couldn’t really complain. "fine, fine.. let's just get this over with."

“mhm.” you nod, you knew he couldn’t say no to you. as you arrived at the booth, without a word or protest, he slipped his arm around yours and started smiling for the camera.

he had to admit it felt nice having his arm around you, and that he wouldn't mind taking pictures with you all day if it meant he got to hold on to you.

for the first photo, you decided to kiss his cheek. he loved the way your soft lips felt against his cheek—and he loved the way your smile lit up your face as you leaned toward him.

you pulled back once the camera flashed for the first photo and smiled up at miles. "come on, why don't you kiss me for real in the next one?" he suggested with a wink.

you let out a laugh and snaked your arms around his neck, then glancing back at the count down on the screen. he leaned closer as well, wanting to be as close to you as possible. with the flash of the camera, you gave him a quick but passionate kiss on the lips.

once the kiss was over, you looked up at the screen admiring the photo you just took then seeing that you two had one more photo left. “ooh, we should make a heart!”

the next flash of the camera captured him leaning a little closer to you, so you could frame the photo of your two hands entwined in a sweet heart shape. miles couldn't wipe the happy smile off of his face when he saw the result.

you smiled too. “now let’s see them.” you both then waited patiently as the pictures printed out. after it finished, he excitedly picked it up, looking at the adorable photos of the two of you, you kissing his cheek, you two kissing, then making a heart shape with your hands. "you’re the other half of my heart, mi corazón.”

every time he’s done fighting a villain, he immediately goes to your place and coming through the window and falling onto your floor, every single time. you don’t mind tending to his wounds but when the wounds get really bad, you get worried.

“miles, i’m worried for you. all these cuts and bruises are getting worse every day.” it was currently 2am and you were in your bathroom, bandaging miles’ cuts. he sat on top of the counter and you were in between his legs.

“well, you know, i can’t just stop doing what i do.” he says, his voice sounding strained from pain. “besides, it’s not that bad.. i’m fine.” miles looks up at you with a reassuring smile. you sighed and looked back down to continue tending to his cuts. “them cuts say otherwise.”

miles stays silent for a moment, biting his lip as you clean and bandage his wounds. “i’ll be alright,” he says again, his voice wavering as pain sets in. “don’t worry about me.”

“but i do miles,” you paused bandaging him and looked up into his eyes. “i worry for you a lot, and you should too.” miles looks away, not wanting you to see the tears forming in his eyes. “I’m fine. I don’t want you to worry, everything is alright…”

he tries to sound reassuring, but it only makes him feel worse. everything isn’t fine. you frowned and placed a hand on the side of cheek. “you don’t have to lie to me.. if everything isn’t fine then tell me please. don’t shut me out.”

miles can’t fight it any longer. the moment your hand touches his cheek, he starts to cry. “i’m scared,” he finally admits, his voice hitching as he tries to hold his tears in. his eyes are wide as tears stream down his face.

you then placed your other hand on his cheek and wiped his tears. “scared?”

miles nods. “i’m afraid i’m gonna die out there one day, and i won’t be able to say goodbye to you. i don’t want to die without at least telling you how much-” he stops himself, his voice breaking.

“how much what?” you asked. you’re trying to comfort him but he’s making you want to cry too. miles hesitates for a moment, but then he takes a deep breath and finally says it.“how much i love you… you’re the only one who knows my secret, and i’m so thankful you’re in my life.”

a wave of emotions wash over him, and he buries his face into your shoulder, sobbing. you closed your eyes, letting a few tears fall from them and wrapped your arms around miles. comforting him.

I think you can see a genuine loss of craft and storytelling integrity in the Spider-Man reboots over the years.

Tobey Maguire has NO ONE to talk to about being Spider-Man until MJ in 3. His inner conflict is conveyed entirely through sparsely used narration, cleverly written scenes, dream sequences. Think of how many ideas in the trilogy are delivered through striking images.

Andrew Garfield has Gwen to talk to. When he can't talk to her, he writes his innermost thoughts on a... vision board or something?

It's goddamn stupid, but then, Garfield is the canonically dumb Spider-Man who needs Gwen to explain science shit to him. Fucker.

Fucking everyone knows Tom Holland is Spider-Man and loves talking to him about every little thing he's going through. He's got an AI, he's got Happy, he's got Tony, he's got Ned, he's got Aunt May, he's got... her, and he's even got Mysterio. Nothing is conveyed through filmatism or subtext, it's all just plainly rendered talking head dialogue tossed under hand to the audience without any nuance because anything more complicated would take time and money they're either unable or unwilling to commit.

I would say they're not even trying to communicate with the audience, they're trying to obscure a lack of ideas at the core of their story. Far From Home, Mysterio wants to be an Avenger. What does he intend to do when he's an Avenger? How does he intend to cope when an actual, non-hoax threat shows up? Are there even any Avengers for him to join? Why is being an Avenger a glamorous and desirable position in this movie, but in TFAWS, it's an unpaid internship that doesn't net Sam any respect or goodwill?

This vapidity is all papered over with a bunch of bantery dialogue in an attempt to distract from how paper-thin the plot really is. And in case you think I'm being overly harsh, remember the conflict in No Way Home is that five villains don't want to be cured of their afflictions or have their lives saved. They're fighting to stop Spider-Man from helping them. Their motivation is I guess just to stay on an alien world where they have no friends or resources or even government ID, and where superheroes who can beat them up are plentiful, to, uh... hang out with each other? Seriously, what does Doc Ock's endgame look like if he succeeds in killing Spider-Man, which he's trying to do for most of the movie?

You don't know because, ha ha, Zendaya said his name is stupid. That's a better thing to spend time on than the antagonist's goal or motivation.

Seriously, what does Norman Osborn's characterization amount to besides "he's kk-razy"? Raimiverse Norman wanted to make Peter his heir out of disappointment with his own son. What is MCU Norman trying to accomplish? He's the main character besides Peter and you can't tell me; he's just doing random shit because the plot demands it.

Yeah, Teruko was the one that made me realize the sexisim that existed in BSD when I first binged it. Or, more accurate, what TYPE we're dealing with. The female characters can exist and have their own moments, but they can never outshine the male characters and Asagiri can also allow himself to forget them if he needs to. When I read Stormbringer, one of the things that stood out to me is the fact that no female character has any prominent role until like, 200+ pages in, and what role Kouyou got was so minimal she might as well not have shown up at all. Yosano has a huge important backstory that doesn't become relevant until SEASON 4 while most of her male companions have had theirs explored way before her. It's disappointing, but I genuinely find Teruko intolerable and find her to be the worst written character in the entire series. It's not her fault, but her behaviour around Fukuchi and her ability was just horrid to me. Her ending here just enhances all the issues that already existed in her character for me. She's the only female character in this series I can't stand and that SUCKS because I want to love them all, but Asagiri is making that mighty difficult when he pulls stuff like this :/

The almost complete lack of female characters is personally my greatest disincentive to reading Stormbringer (together with the lack of ss/kk. Discredit where it's due).

Teruko's role this whole doa arc has been.. Saddening? I feel all the hd have a lot of untapped potential; but whereas with Fukuchi and Tachihara and even Jouno it's like, you know what's their deal, there's so little we know about Teruko and Tetchou's motivations and backstory. And even when both had their occasional times to shine - I like Teruko's scenes in the Sky Casino arc! A lot! I think they make for a very cool character! -, there's the whole deal with Teruko in the airport arc which is just :/// Like, she's just there to move the plot forward. She was very pretty in chapter 105 and made me feel like she had some further insight in the whole picture, like she had taken a stand and had a motive, but in the end it was never elaborated on, and I'm very sorry for that. Way worse, she was exclusively delegated to the role of numbly moving the plot forward, which is just wholly unfortunate. Why did she let Atsushi go just like that, like, really?? Oftentimes women's role in this franchise is truly meaningless. I don't really care for what side she was going to take in the end, I just wish she was just handled more sensibility, more respectfully. But alas. Hoping she'll get some spotlight in the future, because I really like her.

I like Teruko! Like, I genuinely get where you're coming from, and your reasons for not liking her are very valid. To me it's more about straight-up ignoring some stuff I don't like (REALLY can't vibe with the Fukuchi worshipping, I find it quite gross to be honest) and emphasizing the aspects I do like. I like how she's unapologetically mean - honestly, not many female characters get to do that. She gets to be a villain -, but I also like how it's compensated with a very strong moral code and genuine intent to protect citizens. I love lots of her scenes in the Sky Casino arc: her interactions with Tachihara are funny and vaguely wholesome, her determination and resourcefulness to win over Sigma is so cool, and her reluctance to hurt citizens, and the scene where she stopped an aircraft with her bare hands!!!! Honestly, banger after banger after banger, looking back at it that's probably why I held such high expectations for her character. Despite personally wholly disagreeing with bsd's morale, even Teruko's enouncement of her Hobbesian principles is enjoyable for me, because it's quite rare to see a woman preach such realist, cynical worldviews; if anything, it's refreshing. I think her ability is super cool and original, I love it tons!! I really like her character design, too. I like how she's of the highest grade compared to all other hd members minus Fukuchi and I like how she can be childish and keep them in line at the same time. I like how more mature and savvy she looked in her latest airport arc appearances, how she looked tired of war on par with Fukuchi. I wish she was given more screentime and importance and agency, and I wish the mess of the last chapter didn't happen, but I like her personality.

On her ability, I think it's pretty cool, and neutrally problematic by its own; but I do agree that between Teruko having child appearances and being obsessed with a grown-up man, the whole Mori deal, Aya proposing to Kunikida in chapter 40, the chapter 107.5 page that left everyone perplexed and was only later on clarified by the anime, (and, regretfully, even how the Kyouka / Atsushi dynamics are framed in some of the earlier chapters), it creates a very distasteful pattern.

I really like Yosano's backstory (really. I've said it a lot of times before, but I think chapters 65-66 are the best written chapters in the whole manga.), but it's not like just because of two small chapters that center around a woman after 15 volumes of male spotlight bsd suddenly stops being sexist lol. And that's something I've already said before, but: Yosano's chapters are beautiful! But they don't really help empower female characters in this franchise. Yosano completely lacks agency in the story, which is FINE for the story on its own, yet in the context it simply does nothing but reinforce the fact that women can't be masters of their fate.

I also strongly agree with the fact that female characters are accurately written as to never outshine their male counterparts. As someone else has pointed out before, both Kyouka and Higuchi have respectively saved Atsushi and Akutagawa's lives (in Kyouka's case, multiple times), so why is it that Atsushi and Akutagawa don't serve them the same respect and admiration that they hold for them? The double standard is really blatant once you start seeing it.

Even though it's very important to read things critically and acknowledge franchises' faults, I still can't help but feel bad for spreading negativity (╥﹏╥) Here's to hoping the bsd writing of female characters will improve in the future!!

Shaggy and Fred's moments in Scooby Doo the mystery begins (fraggy)

Fred seems upset that shaggy is getting tripped on the bus but he doesn't really do anything other than get kind of uncomfortable knowing that it's happening.

In the library I noticed most of the scene when it shows the characters, Fred is looking in Shaggy's Direction it's just like kind of um idk gay. And it's like every time it comes to show a Fred reaction half of those reaction scenes he's looking at Shaggy.

K so they get to the cemetery and Shaggy wants to back out but Fred and Velma link arms with him and force him to go into the cemetery. We cut to them getting to the graves and Shaggy pulls his arm away from Fred's grip, which meant Fred was walking and scooping Shaggy's arm the whole way there. So gay.

There's the scene in the graveyard and Velma is talking and Shaggy's on the total opposite side of her and so he's looking near her direction to listen to what she's saying. And he's looking that way and he standing right next to Fred so he's looking in his Direction. And the whole time for the total of almost 9 seconds, it looks like Shaggy is just staring at Fred and Fred is looking directly at the gravestone. And so he looks over at Shaggy because he feels his eyes on him and it's just very gay. It's a gay scene what else am I supposed to say?.

Everyone in this group has a crush on Fred. I feel like compared to curse of the Lake Monster, Velma starts to realize she's a lesbian in THAT movie.

Shaggy's basement / room is so cool btw.

Gotta point out that when Shaggy is ranting Fred always cuts him off and addresses it. Cuute. Freds smile when Shaggy says he was held back. All their smiles. They're just so soft.

He got distracted and started ranting and Mr. Fred stepped in. LMAO Daphne's reaction to him getting distracted.

I always thought during the Man to Man scene Fred was being disrespectful but now I think it's just because Shaggy's like a year or two older. Cause Shaggy asks to talk "man to man" and Fred says "sort of" which this version of Fred idt would say that in a disrespectful way. Maybe '02 Fred but not this one.

"Play the field" he would so experiment. Bisexual. He doesnt leave Shaggy in the dark and he makes sure to not only explain to him but also show that he doesnt look down on him for not getting it first thing.

Fred playing along to shaggys antics lmao. He just nodding and smiling.

Aw Shaggy's speech about futon's vs mattresses and Fred smiling down and shaking his head after.

Fred making his chilli cheese fries joke about Shaggy and then getting a kick out of it.

They know Shaggy so well at this point its adorable.

Aw shaggy and velma run to the group and Shaggy immediately grabs Fred's arm and hides behind him. While also screaming "Save me". Too cute.

He did it again. He looked at Shaggy when talking. It wasn't even directed at him. Shaggy held contact too. He looked at Fred for like 6 seconds bruh. Fred did it too. After the wanda grubwort story. His was like 3 sec.

He goes on a rant and Fred and Daphne just smile and look down as he tries to lie to them. And then Fred interrupts his rambling and addresses what he is trying to say. And Fred tells him "It's okay" before continuing. Just so much beautiful communication. Fred also looks at Shaggy when Velma jokes and then shaggy looks at Fred and laughs and -😭💗.

Its only when Fred looks at him that he finally comes clean. Close proximity Fred Jones. Hes so touchy. Also when he comes up to Shaggy he like, runs his hand down Shaggy back. K but the deleted scene (comes from the OG script) of Fred saying "I will Never understand girls".

I mean it is true. Of course Shaggy aint her type. He's not a girl. I love that he can't understand Scooby. Its so goofy and cute.

He reaches out to touch shaggy when he asks whats wrong. Shaggy pushing Daphne out of the way so HE can hide behind Fred.

Its too funny. Fred once again protects both Shaggy and Daphne and im just like-

"Shaggy, you're okay" *Freds hand lingers* awwww and then when Shaggy starts ranting again Fred grabs his arm and reassures him that Velma is okay. And then he touches his arm and leads him. Too cute im telling y'all.

Daphne and Shaggy curling up into Fred's chest. Not only THAT but Shaggy bends down into his chest. Like sir you are 6'2. Bisexuals. All 3. Daphne and Velma walk away with their arms comforting each other. And Fred puts his hand on Shaggys back.

Fred asked Shaggy how his date went and he rested his hand on his shoulder then he let it slide down to Shaggys back and let it sit there until Daphne began reading the list of names.

Fred once again reassures shaggy that the problem is something else. I mean look, he could be a jerk and just roll his eyes at Shaggy but no. He takes time to explain and communicate.

Awww k so the group hug at the end when Shaggy ruffles Fred's hair. And he goes "Not the hair, man. Not the hair".

Review: My Uncanny Destiny

Happy Lunar New Year folks! Yesterday I spent my whole day watching this (I was trying to get the Lunar New Year vibes).

A little TMI but last year for 1 month I went on this crazy binge of watching historical chinese dramas. I spent every free time I have binge watching almost 30 dramas. I average spending 2 days max per drama (if ya'll watch chinese dramas ya'll know, esp the older ones, each drama is about 60 episodes).

Well I couldn't have done it without the x2.0 speed and ff buttons.

I have watched from the good ones (will forever stand behind Love Like The Galaxy as one of the best historical chinese drama ever) and I have watched the worst (sorry Eternal Love, my hand was spamming that ff button).

Anyways long story short, I know what I like in a historical chinese drama and this is it.

My Uncanny Destiny is about a girl who is the only heir to the throne, was brought up as a boy by her King father. And a boy from another Kingdom looking to avenge his father's death (supposedly caused by the girl's Kingdom). Very enemies to lovers trope but not exactly. FYI this will contains spoilers.

Anyways, she one day somehow save the boy but lost her memory and they connected, fall in love and have to deal with the consequences that they are enemies. (AGH)

kk wanna find out more, go watch it. There is only 24 episodes and 30 mins run time per episode (honestly, very very short compared to the dramas I've watched before).

What I love about this drama is that this drama doesn't take itself so seriously. They establish themselves as a comedy drama. THIS IS COMEDY. From the poop and fart jokes to the silly encounters and accidents. Everything is funny and so absurd I can't help but love it. I especially love the female lead. Zhang Yue Nan did such a good job at playing this clever comedic character, it doesn't end up being cringe. She's not afraid to make herself look silly at all. She reminds me of Zhao Lu Si in the drama The Romance of the Tiger and Rose. BUT don't be fooled, her character Ye Zhao Nan is a strong clever character. Which is what I love it a female lead. I hate, and I repeat, I hate female lead that is dumb. like out of this world, logic out the window dumb. (Which sadly is usually the case for female leads in chinese dramas.)

But Ye Zhao Nan is a strong clever character that could hold her own. She doesn't need the male lead to save her every 2 seconds. Speaking of male lead, mans really good looking. He reminds me of lee dong wook. I looked at his profile photos out of costume and I can say, mans look good in King costume. Anyway, the male lead Liu Xuan Ming played by Yan Zi Xian is also a character that holds his own. He is unafraid to show his love and affection towards his girl. He is jealous but doesn't treat her like his belonging. He is also a strong ruler to his Kingdom.

Together, they have so many funny and comedic scenes I wonder how many times they have to reshoot because the actors might just burst out laughing. My favourite? Is when we can clearly see Yan Zi Xian break character by genuinely laughing or smiling at Zhang Yue Nan's acting. It's so sweet because it doesn't look out of character. Instead it looks like he adores her (which the male lead character does).

I love how strong each female characters are in the drama. Most of the time, female characters are plotted into the story to benefit the male characters. But here, they are have their own story and antics. Even the villain of drama has her own arch and is of strong character.

CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE SECOND MALE LEAD! He is the most green flag second male lead I have seen in a chinese drama in a while. Yi Yang Jun grows interested in the female lead but steps away the moment she says her heart belongs only to Liu Xuan Ming. He becomes her confidant and her friend. He becomes a good friend to the male lead as well (although he occasionally tease him about taking the female lead away). He is respectful to her feelings and when he backs away, he doesn't look pitiful at all. He smiles and walk off which makes me believe that although he loves her, he loves himself equally too.

Overall, this drama had a good storyline, plot, acting and script. If they had taken themselves seriously and they had a longer runtime, I would say they would be on par with Love Like the Galaxy (and that says alot considering this is my favourite chinese drama ever).

Wrapping up, I would highly recommend you watch this drama if you're looking for a good laugh. Don't take it too seriously.

I WAS THINKING ABOUT THIS ALL MORNING OK so right off the bat cain’s favorite fuckin holiday is for sure halloween so he Definitely goes all out as anything that lets him splatter himself in as much fake blood and torn clothes as possible like a zombie or a slasher villain he genuinely fucking looooves it

and this is also like one of the few things cain would ever be pushy about is he would definitely drag his friends who don’t want to put any fuckin effort into dressing up and force them to dress up he’s secretly good at sewing n tailoring n shit so he would totally make costumes for hibiki and tex. who are shockingly hard to think of costumes for actually

tex definitely strikes me as a classic werewolf kinda guy cuz tex has Definitely never celebrated halloween he usually always is working on halloween and it’s like a human thing so he never paid it any mind and would probably just brush it off as “not for him”, but werewolf i think is perfect. or a frankenstein’s monster. actually scratch that cuz blue would go as a frankenstein’s monster and pair up with zinnia as the mad scientist those two are goths they love halloween too and totally do pair costumes that zinnia always incorporates fishnets into for herself

betsy always works on halloween and in a hospital so she can’t really dress up but she at least puts the effort into getting like a little pumpkin pin to put on her dress for the day

Hello I am that anon that keeps sending you asks. Here is me without anon. I want to say thank you. Here is your superhero au. I thought of this Villain Ed and KK. The two used to be heroes but retired and who would suspect a pair of villains to be heroes. There is Akito a new hero on the block. Akito started to date KK before Akito became a hero. KK was able to discover Akito was his the hero he fought. KK told Ed that his boyfriend is a hero sent against him. The idea is that KK and Ed try to train Akito as their normal identities and their villain persona's are used to make sure they taught that lesson to Akito and made sure he remembered it. I have an idea on what their villain outfits could look like. They could be like Yaseotoko(KK) and Hannya(Ed) or this you know those comedy and tragedy masks. The two switch between their masks every now and again. Usually Ed is comedy and KK is tragedy.

I have something to tell you @quietplace26. I was a spamer at @floofywolfer's blog as I was very new to sending asks back then and did not know what to do. I was able to grow as a person so I want to say thanks for willing to let me tell you my idea in my head. Cobra Kai, season 5 thoughts

I may have been watching this season with a brain injury and a migraine, which might be why I think it’s the best season ever. Maybe, if I dug deeper I’d find more flaws, but I don’t want to. I’ll start with the couple of gripes I had, and then prepare for me gushing. 

I really don’t like the drinking and driving. I guess Johnny doesn’t even think of beer as booze anymore, but we’re not in season 1 anymore. Johnny shouldn’t have empty coors cans in his van.

The underage drinking. Again, it’s been there since season 1, and the kids did deserve a party, I just don’t understand why the party needs alcohol. Not a good message to sent to the kids watching the show.

My last gripe was when they showed the ultrasound. That was at least a ten week old fetus. They talked about the baby’s legs. I really don’t mind the baby SL, and I don’t even mind all the characters being happy about it, I’m happy for them, but to portray such a new pregnancy as having a fully formed fetus does seem like pro-life propoganda, and dangerous misinformation. 

A gripe I’m in denial about is implying Silver to be Jewish because he used Shalom services to sweettalk a Topanga sensei into handing over the dojo to him. I’m still pissed they gave Johnny’s evil step-dad a Jewish surname, so I am choosing to believe Silver faked it, in order to get what he wanted. 

Silver has always been such a comic book villain, and anybody who knows the KK lore knows him like that, but I think this season did a good job of showing the audience why other people don’t instantly see Silver as a villain. We know his philanthropy and civil demeanour to be an act, but innocent characters don’t, and are constantly blind-sided by him.

I really loved Amanda’s arc this season. It was logical, because this isn’t the Daniel she married, but she doesn’t know the full story of why he’s acting like this. The audience does. And having Jessica be her cousin, and to help her know the history, once she’s in the loop she can understand and support Daniel. 

I think this season is the best season at exploring trauma and how it affects people differently, especially the adults who never talked about it, versus the kids who have learned how to communicate, although some traumas can’t be addressed until they’ve been processed. 

Freaking Stingray has always been my least favourite character. His need to befriend the children, throwing parties with alcohol just to buy their friendship, always irked me. But they way he could only explain what happened, using D&D, it really broke my heart.

This season had the best balance of comedy, character moments and trauma. It was so funny. 

And the more people I see hating on the baby SL, the more I like it. And the idea what the series might end with a big Jarmen wedding. We’ve seen Carmen drink bad orange juice, just because Johnny gave it to her. We’ve seen Carmen be territorial when Shannon was by Johnny’s apartment. The fact that the Top Gun fantasy was Carmen’s and not Johnny’s was a funny reveal, but in character and I’m glad she’s getting what she wants. 

Robby does deserve to be bitter, but that’s not who he is. He is such a good kid, a good man. And he has a lot of love to give, love that he wasn’t able to share growing up, so I can see him doting on a younger sibling. Miguel too. He learned his father was not a good man, but he’s not his dad. He can be an amazing big brother. 

After everything, I just want the characters to be happy, and I know a baby is a cliché way to make everything better, but I don’t think it’s out of character. And I don’t think it implies that childrenless characters are evil, because Chosen certainly isn’t. I can see why people could take that as a takeaway, but not mine.

I do think the show is still trying too hard to be straight, when it is clearly a karate polycule. Having Chozen still pine for Kumiko so he’s not the fifth wheel just screams “no homo” but I don’t care. Kumiko is welcome in the karate polycule. I’m sure Amanda and Carmen would welcome her, just like Amanda invited Ali before, much to Johnny and Daniel’s horror. 

There are so many aspects of season 5 that I just love. At first I was disappointed we didn’t get more Kreese, but I really hope we spend season 6 doing that, and ending it with a cliché wedding or birth scene, where Johnny finally is too happy in the present, and excited for the future, to be haunted by the past. 

My heart sank when I thought Daniel was actually going to help Kreese get out of jail by hooking him up with his lawyer. And the thing is, season 1 Daniel might have done that, regardless of the trauma it clearly caused Johnny. So that reveal, makes my heart soar. 

And as much as I hate Kreese, I really love Martin Kove, and I thought it was really clever how they used young!Kreese for the fight scenes. 

There are so many more things I could rave about. I really enjoyed the balance between the adults drama and the kids, which I haven’t in past seasons. I love all the characters, and am so glad to see them come together. 

The children this season have been much smarter than the adults, which is hilarious, but I do hope to see more communication between the two generations. Anthony deserves to have an adult to confide in, and Johnny clearly wanted to reach out to Devon but couldn’t. 

I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface on this rant about season 5, because there was so much, but it was never too much, and I thought 90% of it was amazing. 

EDIT: I’m not even pissed that Daniel used violence to defeat Silver, or that Johnny got Miguel and Robby to brawl before they could finally talk about what happened. I know it seems contrary to previous seasons, that this season is saying “violence can sometimes be necessary, or cathartic, or funny” but I do think it’s a question of balance. (I still don’t think Daniel breaking Anthony’s tablet last season was funny though).

BOBBY DEOL FILM RECS by chameli @changshapatrol​ said she’s becoming a Bobby fan because of me so I made this for her. Not many people know or care about him today, but I think Bobby Deol is a decent actor who was not given his due. He had some pretty solid films and amazing songs, but remains underrated. I hope you enjoy these films if you decide to give his work a chance. Lord Bobby is eternal. *NOTE* I haven’t seen all his films yet so this list may change!

Gupt: The Hidden Truth (1997) - I think Bobby looked his absolute best in this film. His hair was flawless and he really was so handsome! Gupt is a stylish thriller with an amazing soundtrack. I watched it a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. Everyone performed well and of course the twist at the end is iconic.

Kareeb (1998) - A love story set in the breathtaking mountains of Himachal Pradesh. Bobby plays the cutest simp ever and his co-star Shabana Raza is adorable too. I love Birju & Neha’s relationship. Of course, there is some tragedy to balance out the sweetness. The songs, background music (there is a very pretty whistling tune that plays throughout), and cinematography are stunning. I love the simplicity and innocence of this film.

Soldier (1998) - To be honest, this one isn’t a favorite of mine at all but it’s Bobby’s most iconic film so I think it belongs here. The story is about revenge and there’s lots of action & violence (something I don’t care for) but Bobby & Preity look amazing and have great chemistry. The songs, though…I have them on repeat all the damn time and I love the soundtrack more than anything.

Dillagi (1999) - Bobby's character is a jerk in this one but man, I love this film. It's a total family entertainer with romance, comedy, and angst. The bond between the Deol brothers and their family is so wholesome. Urmila had the best role and her performance was great. This is a forever favorite and also one of my comfort films. There’s a really sweet surprise at end which will make you smile.

Hum To Mohabbat Karega (2000) - This film is truly a hot mess but it’s enjoyable. Bobby plays a goofy himbo and he is perfect at it. Total Brendan Fraser vibes. Karisma is a news reporter on a quest to find out what happened to her missing brother and somehow Bobby is roped into it. The songs are fun (especially the title song which I vaguely remember from my childhood). Bobby & Karisma made a lovely pair, especially in the song Tere Aagey Peechey. 

Bichhoo (2000) - Again, not one of my favorites but an iconic Bobby role I have to include. He looked really hot and his character reminded me of Cloud Strife from FF7 (stoic mercenary with a tragic past). There is too much violence for my liking but I think the story had potential. Rani & Bobby looked great together and I was really loving their goth vibes. Rani’s looks were iconic even though her character was irritating. Ashish Vidyarthi was terrifying as the villain. There are lots of unintentionally hilarious scenes in this film, but the best part is when Bobby disguises himself as an old man to go undercover.

Ajnabee (2001) - THIS FILM IS ICONIC. Despite the total weirdness in some parts, it was entertaining with plenty of twists & turns. I love the songs, especially Meri Zindagi Mein Ajnabee. Bobby & Kareena were adorable and made such a cute couple. Bipasha looked stunning and I can’t believe this was her debut film! Akshay was kind of laughable as a villain but I liked seeing him in a different role for once. 

Humraaz (2002) - This film is WILD. It’s a romantic thriller with plenty of surprising twists & turns. Bobby’s character was an absolute sweetheart (well, up to a certain point) and he looked so hot with glasses!!! However, Akshaye Khanna totally stole the show. The songs are good but Bardaasht is my absolute favorite (RIP KK).

Chor Machaaye Shor (2002) - This film was super silly and fun. Bobby plays a thief and he’s once again in his himbo element. I just want to say that I think he shines in comedic roles. There wasn’t a dull moment and I was laughing so hard throughout. Bipasha looked lovely but I hate how her character just disappeared towards the end. Shilpa Shetty’s character was annoying and pretty much there for the songs, tbh. Paresh Rawal and Om Puri were absolutely fantastic and their scenes had me rolling.

Dosti: Friends Forever (2005) - THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES. It’s truly a comfort film and I’ve seen it so many times I’ve lost count. I just want to give a shoutout to Bobby’s stylist because I was living for his colorful, tacky shirts. Mans really rocked the hell out of them. Bobby & Akshay had great chemistry and you can truly see how much they loved each other and how strong their bond was. The scene where Bobby breaks down after seeing Akshay in pain? UFFFF. I also love Bobby & Lara’s pairing and this film also has my favorite song of his - Let’s Boogie Woogie Dance Dance. Don’t ask. I love it to death. My favorites Kareena & Juhi are in this as well so what’s there not to love? The soundtrack is super nostalgic for me. 

Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (2007) - I remember back in 2007, when I was in Pakistan, the songs of this film were EVERYWHERE. The soundtrack is iconic and I still play it on repeat. So I finally watched the film a few months ago and enjoyed it a lot. It was fun, colorful, and entertaining. Bobby’s character was so funny but he had this god awful wig for some reason. I liked all four leads and enjoyed their crazy antics.

Naqaab (2007) - This one is a reverse Humraaz. I can’t say much without spoiling it but it’s truly wild. There’s also a scene of Bobby wearing a pink apron while cooking and he looks sooo cute. 

Nanhe Jaisalmer (2007) - I LOVED THIS FILM SO SO MUCH. It was very wholesome and magical. Nanhe is a young boy living in Rajasthan who is a massive Bobby Deol fan and refers to the actor as his friend. Again, I can’t say much without spoiling, but the message of the film is to believe in yourself and your dreams. Bobby was too cute, especially in his scenes with Nanhe.

Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011) - Another film I absolutely loved. As you all know, I am a massive Deol fan and this one features Dharmendra, Sunny, and Bobby. It was silly, fun, and had tons of meta jokes & references (even one about Abhay!) which made me laugh a lot. The Deol men work so well together and watching them onscreen is a treat. Also, Bobby looked really hot in a turban, whew.

Poster Boys (2017) - I randomly decided to watch this a few months ago and to my surprise, I really enjoyed it. Bobby plays a dorky, awkward Hindi teacher and he was adorable (his character was also a feminist who spoke up for his two daughters!). I also liked Sunny and Shreyas Talpade. Tripti Dimri had a small role but she was lovely. This film also had meta jokes & references which had me laughing a lot. My favorite part was whenever Bobby’s phone would go off and his ringtone was Soldier Soldier Meethi Baatein, to which Sunny says “What kind of song is that?” LMAO.

VENT ABOUT HS ACT 6 (a little epilogues and HS2 too)

there's a lot of hate in this post, characters and ships aren't safe, you have been warned.

Everytime i think about what act 6 did to all the characters (ESPECIALLY dave and vriska), i get so much angry i seriously wanna scream.

I dont hate everything about act 6, but it was so GARBAGE. And also seeing that "davekat" moment in the near-end of the comic (after egbert changes the timeline with that juju), it makes me go PURE RAGE! Not just because i fucking hate that ship which really has NO REASON to be canon, but because kk, when hes with dave, acts SO DIFFERENT IN A BAD WAY AND I HATE IT I ABSOLUTELLY HATE IT!

And dont get me start with dave. Its like they wanted to develop his character, but they got lost half way through it. I despise whatever fucking cry-baby dave is in act 6.

Vriska was absolutelly ruined by the end. Her character was going so well!! And then BOOM! Sorry guys, you wanted a redeemed but coherent vriska? Lmao, get fucked. Instead we have this all-problem-solving-friendly vriska, who can solve everything! Even stuff she shouldnt be involved with, like, idk, rose drinking problems???

And no one talks about sollux and aradia, but really: sol finally escapes his responabilities with the game, he doesnt want to have NOTHING to do with it, at all. And of course everyone knows it. But aradia? No, she has to take him to vriska and get him involved again. And he basically cant escape, since he depends on her because hes blind and has to wait feferi and nepeta to get him the fuck out of there. Theres no way aa didnt know sol would have hate being there, but it is implied they havent talked about it until sollux decide to go away. Arent they, idk, fucking moirails?

And beta kids. Ive read again act 1 recently, and they are friends and so lovable with each other. It all get lost during act 6. Its not like they arent friends anymore or they hate each other or stuff like that, but DAMN they sure have changed and still not solved anything!!

And fucking kanaya? Even in the fandom, now she and rose are basically no one if not "the lesbians". Yes, i do ship them, i do love their relationship, but in act 6 they lost their character traits and where reduce just to "sappho lesbian" and "alcoholic lesbian" and thats it.

And the fuckin alpha trolls??? I hate every single one of them, i love only the version of them that i have IN MY MIND and the potential they had and it was compleatelly waste. I 100000% hate kankri and i hate mituna even more, beacuse i remember being intrigued by him: everyone was talking about his sacrifice and how a good person he is and all i saw was this stupid shitty ableist "representation".

And the alpha kids and their stupid fucking disney channel teenagers love problems that go fucking nowhere. Literally only roxy has a character development and a decent arc, the rest SUCK AS HELL.

And lord fucking english. Hes boring af, caliborn is annoying af, but still hes the "main villain"??? And also another -10000 point to dave: he was supposed to beat the shit out of lord english, cuz theyre both time-something, and it was a good way to make dave not a fucking pussy anymore but NOPE! Now hes even lower than he was before!!

And my friends ask me why i dont wanna read the epilogues or homestuck2??? Im fucking terrified here. What the fuck do you want me to read when i know some stuff that happends (because of non voluntary spoilers i found around in the fandom) and all of i know its disgusting??? My n.1 notp becomes canon, nonsense drama happens, rose cheating kanaya!? Jane and jake are together and jane is a cunt!?? Do you really want me to read some bullshit like this???

Fuck everything. Act 6 never happend, the epilogues and hs2 dont exist. Fuck evrything again.

both versions r meant to be like murder mysteries yk?? and they're both set in time settings where it's not quite the future, but im also not a historian so they're also not completely historically accurate T-T they just take place in the past LMFAO but the original ver is more like dark academia centered where the murder takes place at this elitist academy/boarding school in the middle of nowhere, and reader is like a "charity case" whose uncle took her under his wing after her parents were murdered or something, and changmin is like studying to become a physician and they both get looped into the investigation. i have a some written of that ver but it's not very interesting 💀

AND recently like two days ago 💀 i went back to one of the ideas i had for the banner before i started writing the dark academia one (wow that's such a long sentence). anyways, said idea was to take place in like ,, not a school 🤡 but idk if you've read the stalking jack the ripper series but it's based on that !! AND a little bit of six of crows too 🤡 it's not fantastical or anything, but changmin is like a doctor in the lower end and someone's been out here murdering people and shit. changmin is also kind of inspired by daredevil and kaz brekker, but i'll have to get into that some other time 💀

that was one of my favorite parts lol i think this ver of bones has captured a bit more of my interest than the other ver? tho, i would love to see where the other ver went, just cuz i already put so much thought into the storyline and characters and headcanons and back stories, etc.
