I had the realization that I talk about Haven's incredibly fucked up life so much that no one knows that a lot of my lore and characters are also incredibly funny, so have some funny and absurd lore tidbits as a treat.

-More than half of the OG Dresden Crew (Kira, Carter, Pickle, and Emily; Allison and Cain werent involved in this) are canonically banned from Taco Bell. Why? Because Carter started a food fight and everyone got a little too into it.

-Cairn, who is a visibly nonhuman dude from another world and roughly equivalent in age to a human's mid-thrities, is chronically online and very aware of popular internet trends. He has a Tumblr. He knows what Dashcon is. He's tech savvy and taught himself how to use a phone and a computer, and then almost immediately got sucked into Tumblr.

-Lucent has a very shaky grasp on her powers, which can be angsty, but also sometimes when she sneezes entire snowdrifts suddenly appear. Highly inconvenient for Kira when she was hiding Lucent in her house without her parents knowing.

-Pickle named a lot of the animals on the Ward ranch, and most of those he named after food, except for a corgi whose name is Big Mike. His great pyrenees is named Taco Bell.

-Pickle and Maxine have an intense prank-filled rivalry for literally no discernable reason.

-Rictus, the embodiment of time as a concept, likes to eat rocks and has to be physically restrained from doing so.

-Robert DeLuna, Emily and Pickle's uncle, is literally Just Some Guy who fell through a crack in time and space and somehow ended up married to a Princess of Hell (Lyzzie, owned by @isas-oc-asylum ). They have Clark and Malfina energy.

-Fenris Brim, Haven's phoenix companion with an angsty backstory, keeps losing fights to small rodents.

-Lucent's animal companion Jannik has a secret and intense rivalry with a Prince of Hell (Cyber, who also belongs to my friend @isas-oc-asylum and who I reblog a lot about). This prince and Lucent have never met.

-Gar, a golden retriever who was experimented on, has eldritch wind powers, and sometimes when he farts he ends up stuck in trees.

-The Ringmaster, an evil man-eating lizard who runs an evil circus, gets extremely awkward and terrified if someone flirts with him.

-Jackson and Isa live together, and Isa is half fae and full of chaos, so a lot of their living together is Isa being a little shit and subjecting Jackson to her various shenanigans. She regularly drags him out of bed at 3am to go look at plants. Jackson used to be a contract killer and part of a gang.

-Rodney, one of if not the best fighter in the main gang, is a stoner who uses his plant powers to grow copious amounts of weed.

okay, here's the big thing. please take a moment to briefly read over my interpretation of the traveler! while i enjoy the core lore of the traveler, i'm interested in pushing the personality + characterization notions gestured at by the game and playing around with them, pushing them to different limits. as it stands, my idea of lumine is quite. quite overhauled, so i'd appreciate any double-checking before assumptions are made. i don't own anything beyond the concepts i personally came up with, obviously. as it stands, this is a work in progress always, i'm still making my way through the full plot to boot, so bear with me. also, i am comfortable with duplicates, being followed by and interacting with!

— my lumine is genderless, and is socially read as on the masculine side of the presentation spectrum. while i'll use she/her for ease, this is NOT a girl. no gender in space, and all that. this definitely includes her canon design! while i might reblog or like art that is designed in alignment with canon, that's not actually how i see her at all. give her pants. bigger muscles. strong strong hands. i'll write notes up on it in the future at some point. — genshin impact's got some, huh, things going on in terms of weird age gesturing while still being plenty sexualized. don't know what that's about. don't like it. don't subscribe to it. lumine is, appearance wise, mid 20s, but much older than that in actuality, obviously. — vital here, i basically do not know about fanon, i just got here, but what i've seen scares me so so so bad. i do not jive with essentially any of the "blushy, soft, ultra-squishy" of lumine. again! dni! — she's a fighter, intense, a little adrenaline-fueled. rougher around the edges, a little angrier, a little pushier; a little bit rude and sharp and to the point at times. i portray her with the idea that while she is helpful, she can be a bit begrudging, a bit worn through and over it, and absolutely not liked by most people she comes into contact with. i'm very down to explore dynamics that are more fraught than friendly.

i got my start in the sonic amino, doing lil pieces of fan art in a small group chat of likeminded artists. my first drawings were really bad, but drawing sonic and my increasing number of OCs really made my autistic brain happy and i didn't care what other people thought

most of what i draw is inspired by my interests, but i don't actually do fan art much. it's mostly original stuff, because i love making characters and putting them into a larger story and world!

Hi there!

It's been a few years since I properly was active on here. I've obviously reblogged some funny memes across the years, which I hope you've enjoyed. But long argumentative posts? Not so much.

I think there's something admirable about Dragon Age and its lore. Bioware's ability to build a world so deep and believable, with issues which touch so close to home that it leads its fans to argue infinitely with each other. I was going over my world of thedas books to give my flatmate some world building examples and my admiration for Bioware's world building has not diminished. Actually, as a now full fledged writer, having just completed a degree in creative writing and all that jazz... I feel like I can appreciate the work that has gone into Dragon Age and its associated media even more. Is it perfect? Hell the fuck no. But it is deep and thought out and so immensely human. The passion we all have for their world and the issues is something I haven't seen ever since. I've seen a lot of posts making fun of all the arguments we all had and, I mean, I understand. Reading on years old posts about lore that I've forgotten about, it's all incomprehensible, and I'm left asking myself: my god, what the fuck are you even talking about?!

The passion which I had for advocating what was right in this fictional setting is not something I'm ashamed of, however. I spent my time reading and analysing a text I liked. There's nothing shameful about that. What might be shameful is making a whole discourse blog about it and arguing so aggressively with others. I still hold the same ideas - that Anders was right and justified, and that mages should be free. None of my opinions necessarily changed. Cullen is still a little cunt and some of the arguments that have been sent to me to justify the abuse of mages is legitimately horrifying. It resonates with real life abuse apologism. This, on top of how many minorities see themselves in mages and see their plight as a mirror of their own oppression... It's disgusting, to be frank. It leads one to wonder; if you're able to think that about very humanised and relatable characters.... What would you say about real people? Friends, but also strangers? I stand by everything I've said on here, even if the attitude it came with was far too aggressive for the subject matter.

But the opinions I've just outlined interest me, because I am also a strong believer of the "fiction =/= reality" state of mind, which I know I've mentioned before. If you did a pro-templar run because you're interested to see what happens and believe it's the most fun, I always believed that it didn't mean you were a bad person. What I did believe reflected on your morality, is whether out of the game you actually believed in those politics. Because of how they intrinsically tied with real world issues. If you saw the suffering of mages and elves and still believed their oppressors were right it meant you either fell for their framing of the issue (the chantry's belief that mages are dangerous for example) or that you just hated those groups so much you didn't give a shit. This, I think, is what reflects on you. I couldn't care less what you believed made for an interesting scenario in the game, I just cared about what you took out from it.

The true issue though is that I don't believe it's worth getting in so many fights with strangers anymore. It's not healthy. I wasn't... Happy. I felt righteous, I felt energized. But I also felt angry. All the time. I would skip on time bonding with my friends to fight with people on the Internet and at the time I thought that was funny, but in the grand scheme of things? It wasn't good. It was actually sad. No Internet argument, no game is so important that you need to take away from your private time with friends to yell at strangers over the Internet. It's not fun. If you think you're cool and interesting and superior for doing that... I need you to take a moment and sit down. Sit down and just... Think, about everything going on in your life, everything going on in the world and wonder if this truly is the best use of your time. I don't mean this in a judgemental way, because I've been there. But when people say "touch grass," it's out of a feeling of bewilderment that one might care enough about such issues to take time out of their day to rant about it endlessly instead of just... Focusing on other things. Friends, hobbies, self growth. Things that result in happiness. Not anger.

Because what the years have taught me is that this whole arguing over the Internet thing is truly not worth your time or energy, when so many of us are miserable in our day to day lives. Every day brings more pain and misery. Tragedy after tragedy hit our world. We've had so much loss in the past two years alone. But saying this undermines the fact that... There was misery and suffering in the world when I was fighting people on tumblr about mage rights. I can already see the argument, thet we have to remember that we cannot spend every single second of our time gobbling news and misery and trying to change the world. But spending that time to instead argue about fictional politics... There's a cognitive dissonance here that doesn't escape me.

This is a complicated issue! No one should shame themselves or each other for spending time discussing what they were passionate in, and I hope no one will take this post that way. I'm just thinking out loud, about what my place in this fandom was, about what I added to it. And, for as much as I adore Dragon Age and its fandom, knowing all I brought was discourse? Long posts ranting about in-game politics? It's not like I ever brought up anything new, either. I think this fandom deserved more from me, and when da4 comes out... I hope to bring more of a positive impact on this fandom. I want to spend my time making friends, rather than yelling at people!

Thank you however, to everyone who has been kind to me, who have participated in discussions and sent in memes. This fandom is deeply insightful and talented, and in spite of all the arguments I've had... I've truly valued everyone I interacted with. When da4 comes, I hope to interact with you not as an angry ranting little asshole, but as a fellow fan enjoying my time. And if I rant... I hope I do it alongside positive creative content.

The story didn’t start out as 100% interactive like Replicated, and major fic installments are still posted on my main first (and then reblogged to the sideblog), the story has become more interactive as time has gone on. If my marvel au is something you like, following the sideblog will probably let you see more of it sooner than it’d be posted to my main.

@ask-the-tooth-and-claw-clan - askblog for the characters of my Sanders Sides story Tooth and Claw. Used mainly as a fun way to explore the characters and universe, plus it helped me write chapter 2 of the fic. Eventually I’ll probably use it to help me write the rest.

@until-the-sun-rises - This is a Sanders Sides zombie apocalypse au that I cowrite with my friend @buzz-by-bee. It’s a traditional fic style, but we decided to make a separate blog just for it since we’re cowriting it together. It’s been a long time since we updated it because life has been crazy busy, but just like all the other blogs here, it’s technically not a Dead AU, just on pause temporarily.

@paws-and-claws-au - This is another Sanders Sides collab, this time with my friend @thegremlinprince, but this blog is technically Dead. The most recent post there explains it in more detail, but I’m actually going to rewrite the story from the ground up to adjust to the lore changes that have happened in Sanders Sides since Grim and I started writing this story. I’m just leaving the blog up until I do so, so that the story doesn’t disappear.

@the-twisted-ones-au - This is a placeholder blog for an idea I had for a Sanders Sides fantasy au where magic users are either hunted down and killed or forced to serve the crown…I haven’t gotten around to starting it yet, but if that sounds interesting to you give the blog a follow! I’m sure I’ll write it some day…

@bad-at-bullet-journaling - Ah, a non-sanders sides blog! This is my (rarely used but still nice to have) bullet journaling sideblog, built on the philosophy of “It doesn’t matter if the journal is pretty, it just needs to be functional for You.”

@the-muppets-present - So my husband and I think it’s funny to try and do that thing where you replace the entire cast of a movie with muppets except for One Human Guest Star (in the vein of Muppet Christmas Carol or Muppet Treasure Island) and I thought it’d be fun to do that on tumblr. I haven’t actually DONE any of them yet, but when I want to, I at least have a place to! I occasionally reblog muppet stuff there too, but not often.

@music-for-the-kidz - So sometimes I find good music stuff on here that I want my students to see but I don’t want them to see my url or to see some of the comment threads ON said videos, so this is a clean blog where I can reblog those video safely and anonymously. I used it way more last year when I was teaching middle school general music during since the pandemic kept me from having band and choir like normal.

And the last one, I won’t tell you the url for, because the whole point of it is that it’s anonymous. I haven’t used it in like 6 months, but the idea was to have a place to reblog or post stuff that I didn’t want to put on my main because it was just ASKING for trouble and by trouble I mean stupid discourse. So yeah, even though I don’t really use it anymore, still not giving that url out.

So yeah! All 15 of my blogs, more or less in order of how often I use them/what order they’re in on my sidebar. Feel free to check any of them out if you want, I sure would like to post on some of them more this year, but who knows what will happen?

I want to start of by thanking you guys for over 400 responses to the demographics survey! Y’all have no idea how much I appreciate it! We have so much to cover, so I’m going to divide up different sections of the survey into several posts to make it more digestable and do justice to each topic explored in the form! We’re going to start of with, you guessed it, personality types!

Strap yourself in because we’re about to thoroughly dissect your sub-conscious innerworkings and find out how the typical DTeam Tumblr Fan thinks! (And judging by the majority personality types, you guys will probably enjoy it)

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m sensing a tiny difference here... Oh, right!

INxx’s on the Loose!

It’s funny. When I first found one of the 18+ DTeam fan servers through Tumblr, I asked everyone what their personality type was. I was pleasantly surprised when a lot of them told me they were INFPs like me!

It actually reminded me of MatPat’s (Game Theory) survey for one of his Life Is Strange theories that found the majority personality there was also INFP...

Funny enough, can you guess what the second leading personality on that survey was? The third? The fourth?

You probably guessed it right. MatPat found that out of the fans who responded, the leading majority was INFP while INTPs came in second, INFJs came in third, and INTJs came in fourth. The exact order for the personality types in DTeam Tumblr.

But why is it that some of the rarer personalities of the world are dominating DTeam Tumblr or Game Theory’s fanbase? What is it about these communities that attract the rare introverted Intuitive Perceivers (INxP) and Intuitive Judgers (INxJ) of the world like magnets?

The Gifted Kid Syndrome

To answer this question, first we have to examine our leading personalities. As we can see from the data, INFPs and INTPs make up 55.6% and INFJs and INTJs make up 17.8% of the total respondents. That’s nearly 3/4′s of the DTeam Tumblr population made up of INxx types!

Now, here’s me calling y’all out.

A lot of you probably relate to the quiet kid sitting at the back of the classroom who’s put into some type of TAG, gifted program, or some authority figure has probably called you smart and/or “gifted” at some point in your life. Academics probably came easy to you at one point, maybe they still do.

You’ve probably felt your chest swell up at the shower of compliments about your intelligence and at another... you’ve probably felt like people put you in a pedestal and overrate you so you’re stuck with this inherent fear of failure, and it causes you to completely shut down when the things that came easy to you at one point no longer do so. 

It’s gifted kid syndrome hitting you like a brick to the face. And if it hasn’t yet, oh you’re in for a surprise, honey.

And I’m sure many of you have come across funny, relatable posts like this:

And you want to know why most of you relate?

No. You’re not hallucinating. It’s not even a joke at this point. It feels true because it probably is true.

(Granted, the study that captured similar results to this graph is long lost to the internet, but the best source I found with it was a reddit post I will be citing in the reblog.)

Now, my next point is where we find a split.

INFPs and INTPs and their Need to Question Everything (even if it’s about one sentence [insert creator here] said that one time during a 4-hour long stream)

The strongest connection I found between the two leading personalities of DTeam Tumblr is they share Extraverted Intuiting (Ne) as their auxiliary cognitive function.

I’ll use a quote that explains Ne better than I could ever explain it in my own words:

“Extraverted intuition or Ne is very much focused on patterns and making connections from information they gather... Ne dominant users enjoy being able to explore things in a much more open manner, not wanting to feel closed off to the possibilities around them... They are also highly imaginative people, who enjoy being able to come up with unique hobbies and experiences... They are not afraid of imagining things which seem almost impossible to others... [For INFPs,] Ne is what creates this detailed and incredible thoughts process which keeps them busy for long periods of time.”

And another:

“Auxiliary Ne manifests in people constantly questioning the world around them, but unlike ENxPs, they can be more pick and choose about this. But generally, they don’t take people, things and events at face value.“

Now, think about the community you’re in right now. Think about the post you’re reading at the moment.

DTeam Tumblr is full of over-analysis posts, whether about Dream and George’s secret love for each other or about the inherent problems with Dream’s shipbait and gay jokes or theories about what’s going to happen next in the dream SMP lore and the dramatic betrayals and creator’s descend into madness and more theories about sexuality and charts depicting creator’s personalities and what they’d be likely to do in different scenarios and... ooof, I’m out of breath here. You get my point.

DTeam Tumblr is literally a group of ex-gifted or gifted introverted people who love to read or write analysis, theory, and discussion posts about sweaty Minecraft Youtubers because they’re probably too overwhelmed by real life and find joy in obsessing over “dumb” things.

That’s it. That’s literally the post. I might as well end there.

But I won’t. 

Because obsessions is exactly what I want to focus on next.

The Inherent Nature of the INFP and their “Micro-Obsessions”

This is me having a one-to-one conversation with all my INFPs reading this.

Do you sometimes just set your mind on a goal--like, let’s say, writing a book--and you spend so much time obsessing over it to the point where you burn out and suddenly it never sees the light of day because you move onto your next goal or obsession because now you’re getting ready to launch your freelance website so you can start a business on [insert new hobby here]?

Or do you just suddenly find a fandom or a show or a channel you really enjoy and you spend the next few months doing nothing but engaging with it and reading fanfiction and drawing fan art or making dumb analysis posts on your main Tumblr account where suddenly you get an influx of followers from that community and now people are expecting you to just post about MCYT!?

Oh, sorry, I got a little carried away at the end there...

Anyhow, my point is, do you ever develop an obsession over something all the sudden only for it to just disappear when you find something new or just fall into the deep crevices of your mind only for it to maybe reemerge a few years later after you get a deep sense of nostalgia remembering it?

I call them micro-obsessions. And I recently found out, I’m not the only one who does this!

Here’s another quote for you: 

“According to Carl Jung’s theory of cognitive functions, when an INFP makes a decision, Ne comes in second to another process known as Introverted Feeling (Fi). Fi does not use logic to make a decision. It uses how we feel about the decision according to our values. In other words, it asks, “Which choice feels right for me?”

Ne, on the other hand, craves new ideas and experiences to explore, which causes INFPs to always be on the lookout for something novel.

Unfortunately, INFPs can get stuck in a loop, going back and forth between their Ne and Fi. They search to understand their values by constantly trying new things. They ask themselves, “Does this feel right?” then throw it over their shoulder as they move on to something else.”

So, you’re probably asking right about now, Light, how the heck does any of this have anything to do with the Dream Team and MCYT!?

Well, my friend, it has EVERYTHING to do with the Dream Team and MCYT and DTeam Tumblr as a whole.

Because INxx’s are predisposed to end up in places like this--fandoms on Tumblr, channels that speculate whether Mario is evil, watching dramatic Minecraft smp wars and elections as opposed to looking at the news that depicts Murphy’s Law as 2020′s new favorite epigram. 

The introvert in them causes them to prefer socializing in small communities online where they’re not forced to engage in conversations if they don’t want to or put into uncomfortable situations where they have to talk to that one friend of their friend who wants to make meaningless small chat.

Their Intuition causes them to wonder into places like Tumblr where they can engage in deep discussions about their newest obsessions, and they won’t be judged for writing a 500+ word post about why Dream’s shipbait tactics are a genius algorithm strat or simping over sweaty Minecraft boys.

DTeam Tumblr is a safe haven for INFPs and INTPs who might be placed in the “other” category or marked as weird for being interested in “childish” entertainment or being different from the general population overall, whether that’d be sexuality, point of view, age, gender, etc. A place where you can fully be yourself and not have to worry about disappointing people.

INFPs are predisposed for drowning themselves in their micro-obsessions to avoid all of the madness in the world--even if that means giggling like a little girl while reading memes about your favorite Minecraft YouTube creators.

That is a deep-dive into the mind of a typical DTeam Tumblr user. What do you think? Is it accurate at all? Is it completely off? Let me know in the comments!

short (or not so short) little kpop fandom rant below; putting a readmore because i feel kind of weird saying all this stuff on a blog that is pretty much kpop dedicated, who's follower-base is made up of mostly kpop fans, but i also just feel the need to get it out there, so. here we are

(disclaimer: im not using 'you' to direct this post at anybody in particular, if anything it's directed at myself, you just feels more direct)

kind of going off of that post about parasocial relationships i just reblogged but like. ever since watching that one video by a dude im subscribed to on youtube about stan culture and fanfiction and stuff (i think i might have linked it on tumblr at some point? maybe?) my experience in the kpop fandom had gotten... interesting, from a personal standpoint

like im starting to wonder about all this stuff and think about the fact that ALL fanfiction, even the nonsexual stuff, is still crossing a bunch of boundaries in a way? because like youre writing all this stuff about REAL PEOPLE and literally making headcanos for how they would be as boyfriends, how they'd react to certain situations, how they would be in fights for god's sake, and its just-- these are real people. you dont know them. you will probably NEVER know them on a level higher than maybe meeting them through a fanmeet, or if you're lucky running into them on the street or something. and you can't... know how these people you've never met will REACT in situations like the ones you're thinking about, you can't know what they're like off-camera and outside of idol life. and i kind of had a point with this particular section of the rant, but i forgot what it was, so i'm just gonna move on

the thing with me is that like... i think all of this stuff, and yet i still read the occasional y/n fanfic or (god forbid) full group fanfic, often with ships involved. and i justify it to myself by saying i know these aren't the REAL people, they're just characters someone else created in their image; all of this stuff is written based on the images, the characters presented to us, and not the real people underneath (but the problem is a lot of fanfic writers probably dont feel the same way; they think like it's the real people they're writing about and treat it as such). I tell myself I read and enjoy ship fics because I would enjoy the samd dynamic with ANY two people, because the relationship is something i'd admire and long for in real life, it doesn't matter who with. I don't ACTUALLY think these two idols are dating or think they would act like this—its just characters. But it's still just like... where does the boundary lie? I'm thinking all of this stuff, but if i dont act on it, do the thoughts even really matter? Because its what a person's actions say about them that matters, just thinking about something... right?

So as you can see, I'm conflicted.

Now, something else worth noting is that I... don't necessarily think fantasizing about idols, in whatever way that might be, is bad. They're attractive, the images and characters they present often compliment that by being nice, sweet, funny, etc. It feels normal, to me, that you might fantasize about dating them or hugging them or kissing or being friends with them every so often—especially during the pandemic, when people rarely got the chance to actually see other people and (im speaking for myself here but i think its something that can apply to others as well) sometimes ended up filling the void with parasocial relationships instead. the fantasizing isn't the bad part—to me that just feels like a part of being human. its that we're taking these fantasies and putting them out into the world in the form of writing, reactions and fanfictions and the like—we're writing down our fantasies and letting other people read them and fantasize about them in turn.

and to me that feels... weird. personal. kpop idols don't need to know the fantasies you have about them, and no matter how impossible you think it might be, if you post something online, anywhere, there is a chance that they'll see it. and above that even, our fantasies, in our own heads, feel like something that doesn't need to be—or even shouldn't be—shared out loud (artzyy if you're reading this, you can probably figure out why i got so awkward and felt like i'd overshared during our conversation yesterday). i mean, if you're comfortable sharing your mental fantasies with the world, by all means, you do you; im just... not.

a lot of this is why i... actually don't feel uncomfortable writing enhaverse fanfiction (exhibited clearly by the two vampire jungwon fics that are now floating around my blog, the sunoo lily fic in progress in scrivener, and the various other ideas for fics still floating in my brain). because it isnt "real people" we're writing about, or idols' on-camera faces that we ACT like are real people, it's characters these boys and their company have created specifically for their music videos and lore; entirely different, fictional people, just with the same names and faces, which we've basically taken and spun into whatever the fuck the tumblr enhaverse is now (delightfully full of angst, gay longing, softness and a whole lot of fucking projection... you get the idea.)

but its just-- weird, having all these feelings, making all these justifications and having all these morals in place, and yet being part of a fandom that for the most part goes against every one of them. but i haven't left, or really changed my behavior at all, so its... yeah. weird.

You know what, I’m just going to say this because I’m still annoyed at it even after so long.

I hate Tommy killing Dream twice at the disc confrontation.

Now I know this is because I’m someone who puts a lot more value in the concept of honour than a lot of others, but killing someone who’s surrendered (which Dream had, he’d dropped his things) just isn’t... it’s not something you do. If someone has surrendered, you’ve won, it’s over. Anything more is just unnecessary cruelty.

This becomes more clear when you look at Tommy’s first two deaths to Dream: the first was during a war, a war that he signed up to be in with full knowledge he might end up killing or being killed. That’s an honourable death! The duel is honourable! It’s fair.

Dream’s deaths to Tommy? Those aren’t fair, those aren’t honourable. They’re just cruel.

C!Quackity as a character is really interesting in a storytelling sense, because he’s basically always been doomed to fail by the narrative.

He couldn’t win going against Wilbur in the election because Wilbur was a protagonist, he couldn’t become President even though he got the most votes in the coalition because Schlatt was the antagonist, he couldn’t win against Dream with Mexican L’Manberg/El Rapids because Dream had to be defeated by Tommy (since they were each other’s protagonist and antagonist), and he couldn’t beat Technoblade because he’s the protagonist of his own story.

With the knowledge he’s going to be having some serious lore soon, I’m very curious about where his character will go from here. We’ve already seen villains who embrace that title in Wilbur and Dream, will he do the same in an effort to just win for once? Or will he try and become a protagonist instead?

In Which Jo Loves Content Creators

I’m in a mushy mood. This means it’s time to snipe people with my love for their work and affection for them as people. (People I don’t know that well/talk to regularly won’t be as personal as people as I’ve made good friends with! All to avoid making anyone uncomfortable <3)

I’m going to start with @sleepless-in-starbucks, because of course I’m starting with Lia. I know I’ve made a literal collaboration post with Max about how much I love them and their work, but Also how can I not mention once again how sweet and funny they are? I vowed that one day, I would rick roll them, they don’t believe I can, but I will, one day. Also they’re really good at comforting people??? And let me scream about some of my favorite fics/tropes to them. I also really enjoy talking to them about stuff I’m working. Listen. Lia is great, okay?

Speaking of @max-is-tired did you know they’re an incredibly sweet datemate who’s super considerate and easy to talk to and gosh I love them a whole lot? Not to mention their writing and ideas are phenomenal!!!! Max is so big brained!!!!! I will never stop expressing my love for them ever.

Oh, oh, oh!!!! @thechildoflightning is also really super sweet!! I became a huge fan of their writing through their daemon prinxiety au!! And my love of their work just kept expanding as I read the jksf verse they’ve worked so hard on! Their research is expansive!! And did you know they’re really cute when they info dump? I asked them to tell me about the bird facts the other day because I wanted to hear their info dumping and it was really cool information!!! I learned a lot about a really cool bird!!

Another segue! You know who else I’ve learned a lot from? @lilfellasblog who is so cool? And kind???? And smart? Sometimes, I’ll ask them questions in a joking way and then I’ll end up learning something and wow! That’s so cool! And they don’t mind simplifying things for me when I ask! And their fic, Healing Broken Wings? An actual masterpiece, though if you check it out I recommend reading tags thoroughly. And if you have questions about a tag, ask them! They’re so willing to elaborate to make sure you’re able to stay safe!!! They care more about your safety than your readership!!!!! And that’s so awesome! I love Lil so much! A great friend and an amazing writer!

A friend I don’t really talk to nearly as much as the others but who I still care about a whole lot is @illogicallyinclined. They say they can’t write, but bullet fics are a Valid Form of Writing, and also their art? Stunning? They’re the reason I started appreciating Logan a whole lot more than I used to, and their hockey au  is really good (and Jam Packed with Logan Angst if you’re into that.) They’re also hilarious to talk to. I have chatted about Virgil and Logan being huge ass meme’s with them on multiple occasions.

Someone I’ve only recently started talking to is @sign-from-god-complex who’s actually really cool? I was talking to him about my love for fandom content creators before I decided to make this post and of course I had to include him? I’m literally going to be bingeing his writing as soon as I finish this Love and Appreciation post because it’s amazing! I can’t believe I haven’t read more of his work before! A travesty, honestly!!! And oh my God his music is good? Literally the whole reason I joined his server and started talking to Lo in the first place was because he was really nice when I asked him how downloading music worked because I’ve only ever done that onto an MP3 (I know, I’m old) and even then I had to have help because I’m not adept with technology. A great singer and writer!

Now for people I’ve never talked to personally but really want to show my appreciation for... Goodness, there’s so many?

I’m gonna start this section with @princeanxious who’s writing, art, and ideas in general are amazing? Have you seen his coma au? Heart wrenching. His Lost Guardian au? Beautiful world building! His punk lo/pastel dee au? Adorable oh my goodness I can’t get enough!! I tried to talk to him once, but I kind of got scared I was bothering him, but he seems really nice!!!!

Did I mention soulmate au’s earlier? I did. You know who writes really cool and great soulmate aus? @not-so-innocent-bi-sander and MAN is their writing great! Have you read their vampire soulmate au? That was so cute??? I loved Logan’s internal conflict with changing Patton and Roman, gosh? And they have such interesting au ideas too? Like I have actually never heard the concept of Lockets before, and it was such a fascinating idea for a soulmate au? I mean, obviously they have other fics that aren’t soulmate aus, like their prinxiety fic Overcoming a Legacy? Stunning, I am pretty sure I stayed up really late reading that one.

Speaking of fics that made me stay up late (so many segue’s) @impatentpending ‘s fic Powerless had me up from 5:30 pm when I started reading it to 2:30 am when Max finally woke up and distracted me long enough to make me shower and go to bed cause I had work in the morning. Do I regret it? No. Powerless is a stunning fic with an amazing concept. I can’t tell you how excited I was to read a fic where Virgil willingly took on a villain role to protect his loved ones. And also I’m going to physically fight Missy, she can catch these hands. I can’t really give much else on the rest of her fics, because I tend to avoid anything that might not end happy (I’m five chapters away from finishing Powerless, and I’m only just now getting skeptical they might not get their happy ending so count me scared) but I have no doubt everything she’s written is just as good, if not better since this fic was finished in 2018? Wow.

Another fic that had me up super late was @lovelylogans gilmore girls au where you lead, i will follow. Don’t be fooled by the eleven chapters, that fic is over 100k words but God is it so worth it to read every single one. You don’t even need to be familiar with the show the au is based on, it’s amazing either way. The characters, the plot, the romance, all absolutely stunning. I will personally fight Patton’s mom. And the rest of her fics! Wow!!! Stunning, amazing, wonderful, beautiful, I’m running out of adjectives. I loved their princess bride bullet fic a whole lot, that was fun.

If you ever see me gushing about mermaid aus, please know that @voidsides au is Probably my favorite take on it. The prinxiety! The sassy virgil!!! The Logan being so done with Roman’s shit. Literally the one comic with Logan interaction I could practically see “Roman I swear to god if you don’t stop flirting with the fish I’m going to push you into the water” in his words. He didn’t say it, but man he was definitely thinking it.

Oh man, I can’t forget to mention the person who got me into g/t-slash-borrower sides @infinimay cause his content? Amazing, really. I found him when someone I follow reblogged one of his halloween fics and I fell in love and proceeded to binge the rest of their writing. Amazing, really. I really love the giant hermit virgil and hiker logan ones a lot. There’s more that I definitely love a whole lot as well, but I can’t currently match content with titles right now and if I go through I’ll get caught up and forget to come back to this post, but just know I love

Another giant/tiny writer I really love who I fell in love because of his amazingly written alien au- @delimeful WIBAR is currently one of my fic obsessions and I might reread it soon because it’s so good? I love the world building and how he’s written the characters so much. The rest of his work is Also Great? The fic where Virgil turns into a dragon when stressed? Amazing I can’t wait for it to continue.

@tulipscomeinallsortsofcolors You got me so in love with laoft I think about it often. Scary Virgil?? Changeling Logan???? Witch Roman???? Gifted Patton????? I want to cry I love them so much. And God, May! May Gage is a disaster of a woman but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love her. I just. I love this au so much and it’s gotten me to love fae lore so much like I used to. I want to reread this au now, crap. Wait I need to read Lo’s stuff first. Double crap.

Oh man. speaking of writer’s who keep bringing up fae and reminding me how much I love them, @lefaystrent I hope you know your parental shenanigans on my dash bring me life. I didn’t know carbonated milk existed until last night. Kind of wish I was still ignorant on that particular topic. Either way, your fae virgil fic? Amazing. I got so super excited every time I saw an update, and that epilogue? A beautiful ending, if you ask me.

@stillebesat I start screaming in excitement, reading your Interview fic. When I found it, I became so in love with the fic I had a really hard time reading anything else and I frequently checked your blog looking for an update. I am so in love with it, and honestly there’s lots of questions I have about it but if I ask all of them this post will be even LONGER and it’s so massive already.

@today-only-happens-once You’re writing is amazing. So many of your fics are so stunning?? I fell in love reading The Only Exception. Still need to go through your masterlist thoroughly, but man everything I’ve read from you so far is so well written and takes my entire heart.

This post wouldn’t be complete without @notalwaysthevillian who actually got me to start shipping Logince with her fic Shattering Stereotypes. And then there’s of course her tangled prinxiety au??? Which I actually really gotta finish but what I’ve read of it? Amazing. 

Oh crap. If void has my favorite artistic mermaid au, @teacupfulofstarshine has my favorite written au. LDAD is a stunning fic and I would die for it. And also her recent atla au fic? I was screaming over it. Also also her moxiety dad au series she did for halloween had my entire heart. Every installment of that series had me so incredibly soft I probably could have cried.

And finally, @randomslasher I really love your writing. Your fic, Starved was one of the first I read in the fandom and I adored every single word. I haven’t actually had the chance to really sit down and binge any of your work that I could find, but I plan on fixing that soon. It’s also?? Really nice to see an older fander! As someone in their twenties and constantly seeing how young everyone is, it’s comforting knowing I’m not the only one!

I tried clicking the link birk gave to me but all I got was Not Found caption in place of the actual post so it made me think maybe you deleted it after all, which just opened another way you’ve been stressed about this issue.

And frankly I don’t know how including an author’s feedback preferences at the bottom of a reblog would “repulse” readers. If anything, I’d think a reader who was choosing between what title to read next would probably gravitate towards the one where the author might not have any expectations of feedback over one that would.

Nothing I don’t expect from someone who can’t understand how to properly use the word “sociopath” and is willfully obtuse to opinions she doesn’t like.

I believe Bree already said what the issue over this already so I won’t repeat it.

For all that claim of living in United States, you sure learned little in how to properly articulate your words and their proper usage.

I am honestly laughing over how you like to think that you are not forcing readers to comment on your works because you’d rather think you’re trying to change mindsets.

You and the rest of your entitled folks are just a dime a dozen among content creators. You believe you’re all hotshots just because there are a lot of readers who reviewed your works, with your other folks reaching hundreds and even thousands of them they think they’re on top of the fandom world, and so believe you’re all entitled to feedbacks just because you’re all popular? Funny how y’all ultimately failed to grasp that you can be replaced at the readers’ whims.

READERS’ TIME IS ALREADY A PRIVILEGE AND A GIFT FOR AUTHORS. IF THEY DO NOT LIKE WORKS, THEY CAN EASILY IGNORE THEM NO MATTER HOW GOOD IT MAY BE. A COMMENT IS EXTRA REWARD, IN A MANNER OF SPEAKING.

Readers/consumers hold the real power in the fandoms, fam. No amount of denial can change that power dynamic. Silent readers/lurkers can make a favorite work famous even if they never interact or give feedback at all just by simply promoting the works which caught their interest.

They’re literally the reason fandom exist at all bruh. Like Kishimoto/any other authors wouldn’t have any fandom if their works didn’t generate readers who are into their creations.

I mean, hardly any of us interact and give Kishimoto feedbacks personally yet his work strives until now.

In fact, our relationship with commercialized and copyrighted works is just the much grander scale of how the fandom operates.

Kishimoto is our content creator and we are the silent readers whose feedback almost never reaches him so we compensate in showing our support through promoting it to others, discuss about it, and create our own fanworks using the lore and characters he already built to continue generating interest in it.

I’ve come to the realization that some people seem fond of twisting themselves into pretzels over this but it’s really very simple. I reblog stories that I read and enjoy in the hopes that others might see it, give it a read, enjoy it too and leave whatever form of feedback that author seeks. In this case, the author made clear that none is expected, which is very nice. 

This is rich coming from the very person who twisted everything and brought chaos in the otherwise stable relationship between content creators and readers through her greed for attention and fame.

For all that you desire more readers’ feedbacks for interaction purpose, you sure did a great job alienating many of them. 

Fact is, you and your folks would never have reached the level of popularity you currently enjoyed in the fandom if silent readers didn’t promote or even bother to read your works. But instead, you want to make it transactional and therefore deprive many readers, who won’t have time nor unable to review due their own reasons or simply because they’re not comfortable at all, the pleasure of enjoying the fandom the way they want to.

All in the name of entitled btches who forgot who made them and helped them reach the fame they currently enjoyed.

Ah, and for all those talks about reviewing works, why haven’t you reviewed other small content creators? Why choose only those you’re friends with?

So you do lack manners yourself.

You can’t even exercise what you preached.
