Still thinking about Naruto in the year of our lord 2024 so I was wondering what your take would be on a Sannin swap, meaning team seven has different mentally unstable mentors from canon so they can be traumatized/educated in new and exciting ways <3

I've written a few about the potential dynamics between Naruto/Orochimaru, Sasuke/Tsunade, and Sakura/Jiraiya, but let me tell you about the different iteration that really and truly is my favorite:

Sakura/Orochimaru

Mad scientist, came-from-nothing ninja with insane chakra control reporting for duty.

Orochimaru takes one look at this pink-haired freak with a puddle of chakra who thinks she can stand side-by-side with the kyuubi and the last of one of the great dojutsu and says, would you like to live deliciously?

And Sakura says, of course I would.

It is not enough for her to succeed, others must fail. And Orochimaru loves and appreciates this about her.

Sakura runs away from Konoha with the promise of having a mentor who will teach her, who will focus on her, who will believe that she's more than her pitiful background and more than her overwhelming teammates.

She is, at first, foisted onto Kabuto. She frightens Kabuto.

When she gets good enough to replace Kabuto, which happens in a very alarming two years (max), Kabuto suddenly gets to live with the ever-present threat of becoming an experiment.

Orochimaru adores her and encourages her to steal any and all clan techniques and kekkei genkai that she can. Why should she be barred from knowledge if she yearns for it?

Sakura is the most learned woman in the elemental nations. She has figured out Orochimaru's Body Problem. She's replicated the Strength of a Hundred seal Tsunade uses. They are a plague unto Konohagakure.

She's gene splicing like nobody's business.

The only people who care that Sakura up and left are Naruto, Kakashi, a bit of Sasuke, and Ino. Except for...well, no one has that manic desire to bring her back, the way Naruto did when Sasuke went missing nin. They kind of view her as a failed experiment, though Ino misses her and thinks of her a lot.

Sasuke/Jiraiya

Such a miserable duo, but they kind of like it.

Jiraiya is strong enough to keep Sasuke safe, and he keeps the kid out of Konoha, which he really needed.

Sasuke takes to everything quickly and antagonistically. Jiraiya hates having such a talented student - he is, perhaps, even more talented than Minato - who is so desperately antisocial.

You know that one post that's like, someone who's objectively attractive but has negative rizz? That's Sasuke, and Jiraiya despairs on the regular, because this student of his should, in theory, take over this position as horny spy master with the way he effortlessly draws in beautiful women who can act as informants. Sadly, due to his personality, no one would ever believe that Sasuke is just charming these (knowledgable) women into bed with him.

Sasuke takes to sealing, and Jiraiya is petrified that he's going to come up with something to, like, replenish his clan at an alarming rate.

Sasuke gets rid of his brother with some sort of homemade seal that traps him in a Matryoshka doll or something. He didn't technically commit fratricide, but Itachi is suffering in that thing.

He comes back to the village looking way better than he did when he left. Jiraiya takes that as his main point of pride.

Naruto/Tsunade

Naruto, should he learn chakra control, is the ideal healer in that he has more chakra than should fit in a human body, even an Uzumaki.

It's the chakra control that is Tsunade's true challenge in teaching. And, good god, is it a challenge. Sasuke is already murdering his brother by the time Naruto can reliably aid in a minor surgery.

But once he finally learns it, Naruto is improving in leaps and bounds, as is his way.

He completes a Strength of a Hundred seal six months after he finally learns chakra control. Sakura has had hers for two years, and he does not know or care.

Naruto is saving people at unprecedented rates. Honestly, Tsunade struggles to justify making him a combat medic, because he's doing so much good in the hospital just staying at the village.

Naruto is Naruto, though, so Tsunade teaches him to brawl using her style.

He winds up on the most dangerous missions, due to the fact that he has a natural healing ability with his Kyuubi, and is now the most talented healer Konoha has (who insists on getting out there).

Honestly, I could see him winding up in ANBU, given those skills and traits.

His true hardship, after mastering chakra control, is realizing that his talk-no-jutsu isn't going to work all the time and that he can't derail missions to attempt it.

Naruto is a better hokage for it, in the end.

Orochimaru x Reader

Synopsis: After his arms become immobilized thanks to the third Hokage, you step in to help him in the shower. Which led to a conversation you weren't sure you were ready for.

A/N: I'm so sad I can't find a good gif of him in the shower... But we all know the scene - It lives rent-free in my head.

The warm water pounded down on both of you, washing away the blood flowing from his arms. You couldn't stand blood. The way it smelt caused your stomach to churn, and seeing it come from him somehow made it worse. He gazed down at you, face blank as he took in your expressions. Your hand softly moved the washcloth along his body, spreading soap against his milky skin to wash off blood that had yet to be washed away and down the drain.

It scared you. This scared you.

You stepped closer to him, arm wrapping behind him to get his back. It would seem intimate, considering both of you were naked, but it wasn't something the two of you haven't done before. Showering was the only time you managed to get close to him. You rarely spent time with him in the lab, except for the occasional nap on the singular couch. Any other times it was hit or miss.

He hissed as you hit a wound that wasn't caused by the Hokage, causing you to hiss in empathy. "Sorry" you whispered, head craning to get a look at where the wound was. It wasn't terrible, then again, nothing was as bad as his arms. Your eyes slowly lifted to look at his face, but they snapped away once you saw he was still staring intently down at you.

"How do you know I love you?"

Your hand stopped moving, resting softly against his side where you were beginning to clean. He took in the way your face contorted in slight pain before quickly shifting into one of pure relaxation. He hit a nerve and he didn't know how he felt about it.

"How do I know you love me?" you questioned, eyes trained on your hand as your fingers slowly rubbed at his side. "I don't... But, I know that if you wanted to get rid of me, you would have by now-"

"Yes, but I could do the same with Kabuto-"

"Kabuto doesn't get to do these things with you... No one does" you stated firmly, slightly annoyed that he tried to cut you off. Silence fell between you two, the only sound in the room being the shower itself. "I would like to think I'm special to you in some way. I know you don't want my body for research purposes or to use it as a vessel for your soul." He didn't say anything, and it was your cue to continue "I don't know if being special is the reason that the men here stay away from me, or that Kabuto sends glares at those that do come near to ensure you don't become enraged. Or even if being special is why you keep me close when we are out of the safety of the shelter. So..."

Your eyes flicked up to his, cheeks heating up at the way he was now looking at you. He could hide his feelings all he wanted to, but you saw the adoration in his eyes. "I don't know if you love me, but I know I mean more to you in some way." A small smile played on his lips, it was faint and quick, and those who didn't know him wouldn't have caught it. But you did and it told you that you hit the nail right on the head.

He opened his mouth and you braced for a cruel rebuttal, but he shut it, eyes narrowing before letting out a sigh.

"Yes, Kabuto?"

Your head snapped to the door. He wouldn't be able to see anything but a shadow of you behind the curtain, but it made you self-conscious. Orochimaru let you move closer to him, never liking when you felt uncomfortable.

"I'll... I'll come back-"

"Good idea" Orochimaru hissed back, eyebrows furrowed as a wave of pain crashed through him. You mimicked him, brows furrowing as you took his face into your hands, trying to ease him through the waves of pure agony. "I got you" you whispered out, stepping even closer so that your body was pressed to his. The fear of losing him growing intensely in your chest.

Your shoulders shook as you cried softly into his shoulder. Your fingers dug into his flesh and he bit back a wince as it added to his pain. He let you do it anyway, knowing that you needed to feel his warm flesh to calm your own nerves and fears.

"I'm not going anywhere" the man mumbled above you, eyes narrowing at the way his disheveled hands looked against the tile. He wanted to hold you close, but he couldn't with his arms being in this state. And he hated it. Hated it so much. All he wanted to do was pull you into his embrace. Your presence always calmed him and made him feel safe. And that...

That is how he knows he loves you.

I was thinking about how the girls in Naruto might have progressed as ninja if they'd ever been given actual development.

Ino would make an excellent spy. She's mental ninjutsu oriented, and she's people oriented. She's the gossip queen, she knows everything about anyone. I can so easily see her as an espionage master going under deep cover to do what she does best, knowing other people's business. Super glam spy fits her vibes, she deserves it. The anime suggests an alternate path as she has a filler arc where she apprentices under Tsunade and that's as a mental health specialist. This doesn't fit her quite as well but I do like the idea of her and Sakura working together given how important their rivalry is to each other in the manga.

Sakura was introduced as having excellent potential in genjustsu, and then nothing was done with this. Sasuke became the genjutsu user and Sakura the taijutsu user and this could have been interesting since this is the opposite of their initial introduction but again nothing was done with this. Building off her taijutsu and being able to focus her chakra to a point for super powered attacks, I think Sakura deserves to wield a giant axe, she has one in several of Kishimoto's illustrations. Next would be her to develop her genjutsu potential, Sakura's strength's are her control and intelligence and I'd like to see her fully use those skills. Additionally the manga and characters themselves draw strong parallels between Sasuke and Kakashi as the geniuses of their teams. The parallel that is missed is that Sakura and Kakashi are both people without plot-breakingly powerful kekkai genkai with high intelligence, excellent chakra control, but mediocre chakra pools, and this really could have been explored more. One of the problems Naruto has is that healer is treated as a women's profession, with Sakura its rather hard to avoid however as the manga sets up a strong parallel between the sannin trio and Team 7. One option would be for Sakura not to use her medical knowledge for healing but instead like Kabuto for assassination and special operations. Of Team 7 Sakura is the most suited for ANBU, Naruto is just out of consideration completely and Sasuke has shown himself to be just as stupid and reckless as Naruto. Sakura in Anbu would also further drive the similarities between her and Kakashi.

When will someone remember that Tenten exists. I don't see her 700 epilogue retirement to run a weapon shop necessarily bad. Not everyone has to be a ninja, the problem is when it's always the women who retire from fighting. As a ninja though I think Tenten deserves more swords, like Killer B level or more swords. Tenten's strengths are in her physical abilities and weapon versatility, so she should be able to always pull out the weapon type that would work best against any opponent. I love to see her be a primarily physical fighter this would be my first pick for her, but another option would be to lean more into the sealing scroll side of thing so not just weapons but tools and traps, make Tenten a saboteur.

Hinata, oh Hinata, she deserves so much better. I can see more or less two paths for her. First would be to quit being a ninja, it could work for her. Hinata never really seemed to want to be a ninja, it was always for something else, her clan, Naruto, her friends, but not quite herself. I can very easily her leaving the shinobi life all together, leave ninjas, leave the Hyuuga clan; Hinata deserves it, to lead her own life on her own terms. Hinata had such potential to be an interesting character and its a shame the manga never got into it. She's the eldest of the Hyuuga clan leader but she's overshadowed by both her cousin and her younger sister and ends up passed over for succession, like that is juicy. True growth for the Hyuuga would have been Neji succeeding his uncle as clan head but that's another post. If she stays a ninja I would have like to see come to terms that her clan's kinda bullshit in a lot of ways and what they think of her doesn't matter, becoming a shinobi because she wants that for herself. In line with this personal growth she fighting style should deviate from Hyuuga techniques, maybe she develops her own taijutsu style. Or who knows maybe she becomes a physical therapist between the ability to see chakra and affect it, magic acupuncture. Kurenai is similarly ignored in the manga, but with her mentorship, Hinata has the potential to become essentially a magekiller, specializing in countering and taking down genjutsu users.

I bring up the option of some of the girls retiring because some of the boys should have retired. Hinata should have gotten Choji's character arc, and Choji who hates fighting should have been allowed to quit fighting and run a successful bakery cafe business. Sai deserves to put shinobi life behind him and become a full time artist. Shikamaru starts out like he's going to quit but I'm actually quite fond of his character arc. Yamato is also wasted potential as former human experiment and child soldier, like Sai he should learn how to live in peace, maybe he becomes an architect. We don't see team Taka in chapter 700 but Juugo is so gentle I want a nice civilian life for him.

(idk about Temari I mostly just want her to keep girlbossing and beating people up. Mmm I do think she's make a better Kazekage than Gaara. Gaara is another one I could see quiting being a soldier.)

Missing Nin AU: Designs! (Later additions to the team.) + Full Team Lineup!

Again, massive thanks to the best boyfriend in the world for doing the lineart for digitalizing these and so quickly at that! It's lovely and I cannot thank him enough.

Entire 'Missing Nin' team lineup!

SO! Continuing from my last post-

The group of three begin to fend for themselves in the real world, but they need to stay off of the radar as much as possible. They (and by they I mean pretty much Obito and Kakashi being commanded by Obito) steal from smaller villages for necessities like food, water, and clothing. Neither of the boys tell Rin the truth of how they obtain their necessities, as they know they'll be scolded.

Rin would tag along with the two, however, with her tailed beast around behind a hardly functioning seal meant to break, for the time being, she's best off staying put by their campsites.

Over time, the nin adjust and (with a lot of manipulation and convincing) start working towards the goal of Obito's perfect world. He knows it's achievable thanks to Madara's "words of wisdom", but he's mostly left to figure it out on his own. Zetsu visits every now and again to check on his progress as Madara's successor of course, but these meetings are private and are strictly between Obito and Zetsu. Nobody else knows.

Eventually, Rin, seeing herself in some of the foes they happen to face along the way, recruits new members into the group. (Mostly without Obito's consent.) But to please her, he goes along with it. (Besides, 6 heads are better than 3).

Zabuza is the first to be recruited, being newly outcast from his village for his tendency to rely on bloodlust and inability to keep himself under control. So he sets out on his own as a rogue ninja. Although he's quickly intercepted by Rin and invited to join them. At least for a short while. (He stays forever, but that's okay. Kakashi takes quite the liking to him. Wink Wink Nudge Nudge-).

Kabuto is recruited next as he is intercepted just before becoming a spy for Danzo. Kabuto takes an instant liking to Rin as she reminds him of Nonou, and through listening to his love for her, Rin promised to help find her to reunite the two. In the meantime though, she takes on a very much parental and motherly role towards him. This, in turn, causes Kabuto to become very close to and protective of Rin, even developing a slight crush on her.

Finally, Utakata is recruited after finding him lounging around, seemingly carefree. Zabuza recognizes him as the 6 tails jinchuriki, and with that information, Rin develops an immediate kinship with him, doing her best to seize the opportunity to learn from a fellow jinchuriki. (And Obito is entirely good with it. Having more tailed beasts around makes his plan easier.)

Everyone on the team has their own important role to play, and ultimately, it pays off when they're eventually found by Minato. But that, again, is for another post.

TLDR: Now that the team could adequately take care of themselves, Rin felt the responsibility to recruit others in similar situations to them, as, to her, they deserved acceptance and love. These new Recruits are Zabuza, Kabuto, and Utakata.

If we going for Orochimaru redemption in the red lights au then it has to start in the Tsunade retrieval arc. Just think, Naruto and Jiraiya leave Konoha and meet Tsunade and after a week end up on a battlefield with Orochimaru on the other side. Naruto beats Kabuto with the Rasengan and earns Tsunade’s faith and Tsunade is once again the strong women she always was blossoming out of her drunken suffering. As Orochimaru is defeated by Tsunade he decides to cut his loss but not before reaching out to Naruto, offering him power to hurt those who hurt him (just like he was hurt) instead to the shock of everyone Naruto reaches out his hand and offers for Orochimaru to come home. Tells everyone there about Danzo schemes that Orochimaru was roped in on (because Granny would know to warn Naruto about that man and all he ahs done), how his teacher failed and feared him (feared a child), how his teammates failed him (Tsunade and Jiraiya flinch at the truth) and that he doesn’t need to be alone and hated, that he can be more than what they say he is. He can come home, Granny Rin has missed him, they all missed him and they're waiting for him and Orchimaru who for years wanted those around him, to reach out. To be loved by those around him takes Naruto's (his reflection) hand and agrees to come home. Naruto returns and for the first time in years all 3 sannin are home, for the first time in years Granny Rin is reunited with one of her first flowers. And together they will make their village better. Starting with making Danzo face justice.

There’s not mistaking who Naruto is.

Or, perhaps more importantly, there’s no mistaking where he is from.

Orochimaru had seen it immediately when he hand tumbled into the waiting area for the first part of the Chunin exam. Had taken one look at the Kyuubi and had seen a flower instead of a demon looking back at him. Through him like the little fox could see through his stolen face to the golden eyes underneath.

It was in the way he dressed — silken kimono purposely left loose to expose the mesh top underneath and glittering baubles that Orochimaru knew would be razor sharp adorning his golden hair — to both charm and be underestimated. It was in the way he acted — a tinkling laugh loud enough to draw the attention of the whole room and his head tipped back to expose his pale throat — another misdirect, pretending to be a mindless little thing to be discounted early. It was in his eyes — the brilliant blue shining nearly bright enough to hide the wicked mind behind them — flicking over the biggest threats before he turned back to his little friends and laughed again.

Orochimaru knew better than anyone where those habits came from. He had used them himself for so long still used them from time to time.

Rin’s Her guiding hand was practically written all over this child along with… something else Orochimaru wasn’t as familiar with. Something in the cold smile that screamed both beauty and threat when he stood between little Kabuto and his Sound team. Something in the way a senbon seemed to appear in his hand, nearly invisible to those who didn’t know how to look, ready to protect someone he just met in a way that would never be traced back to him Orochimaru was sure.

(It wasn’t until the final part of the exam over a month later that Orochimaru realized what that other part was. Wasn’t until he saw little Aki, the darling little moonflower he had been threatened with so often in those horrible years between the attack and when he left, tearing through his enemies with a vicious grace.)

So later, beaten and broken at the feet of this boy who could be his reflection, the day to his night, Orochimaru reached out.

“Come with me, little flower,” it took all of his remaining willpower to keep the desperation from his voice. The need to steal this boy away before they could shatter him like Orochimaru had been shattered. “I could give you the power to end those that hurt you.”

For there’s was a wary distance between the little fox and Jiraiya even now. A tension in the space between them that spoke of fear and hurt. It made Orochimaru’s fangs ache to split flesh when he thought of what the old pervert could have done to earn that fear.

What surprised even him was the hand that reached back. Above his own rather than taking it. A counter offer.

“They used us to hurt you didn’t they?”

Orochimaru, for the first time in decades, flinched.

(Danzo’s cruel laugh as he threatened to find the next round of subjects from Orochimaru’s old home. The picture of little Aki all of ten and all too wary of the world thrown at his feet as a clear message to work faster. Hiruzen’s horrified eyes as he raided Orochimaru’s laboratory unable to see the invisible shackles that kept him from laying the truth at the old man’s feet.

The truth he was complicit in even if he was not an active participant. The truth he was too blind to see.

Orochimaru had ran, knowing if even a hint of that truth escaped the familiar red lanterns would have burned and the streets of his home would have been bathed in an entirely different red.)

“I thought so.” The little fox’s smile was sad. “Granny said it was something like that. She also said that it’s not too late.”

Orochimaru blinked.

The little fox continued to smile. “The people who stole you. The people who were supposed to be your family and turned from you,” behind him Orochimaru’s former teammates flinched, “they don’t have to define you. There will have to be a trial, one where we expose everything that was done to you, but… you can come home.”

It hit harder that Tsunade’s fist. Hurt more than the ache in his arms.

Home.

There was no way they would let him off without punishment. No way they would allow him to remain unchained but…

Would it be worth it to drag Danzo along with him? To cage himself if it meant caging the other village monster as well.

Perhaps it would.

Perhaps it would be worth it just to see her again.

Orochimaru blamed the concussion and took the little fox’s hand.

KAMEN RIDER DEMONS FUCKS

But he also reveals the problems with some of Revice's design decisions

Okay, so, cards on the table, Kamen Rider Revice has some of my favorite Kamen Rider designs. When they work, they are these slick, cool, iconic designs. It is a season that does legend rider designs the best, integrating the designs without being too overbearing (or just being the other riders). Jeanne is probably the best rider girl design, it's all so rad.

Kamen Rider Revice also has some of the worst Kamen Rider designs ever. Whether it be Live's highlighter yellow, or Over Demon's bullshit, some of these suits really suck. To be fair, I think the series is more hits than misses, but still.

That brings me to this thread's topic. Kamen Rider Demons. This is an ancillary rider introduced fairly early on into the series, and is a rider system that jumps around a lot, being basically Fenix's main rider system. However, the initial suit is primarily used by our boy Hiromi. And, to be honest, this design is rad as hell.

The undersuit initially has this muscly texture, looking like tendons strewn about. This muscly texture is also on the belt, tying it into that design as well. From there, the red muscles are strategically covered by a mixture of blue and bluish silver armor. It plays on the classic Spider-Man color combo to great effect. It all works so well. However, the main Vistamp gives the spider web armor on the torso and head, which is intelligently set up in the neutral black, with the other colors being the same silver and red on the rest of the body. This webbing also has an asymmetry, giving an extra visual appeal to the suit, but has a simple, nearly smooth texture, helping to not leave the suit over detailed. Plus, the whole suit has a sharp, intimidating, militaristic feel, especially exemplified by the permanently angry front eyes, flanked by some extra spider eyes on the side, glowing in a clear blue through the webbing. It's so cool! You think it would be too busy, but it somehow all meshes so well together. I would love to see him in Spider-Verse.

From there, a bit of history is given to the suit design with... KAMEN RIDER VAIL

This suit is militaristic, but in a different way. Covered in metallic armor, he wears a baggy undersuit. This both gives the suit a more aged feel (It's meant to be an older precursor to the modern rider systems) and gives the armor the freedom to be more complex. It integrates a darker silver than the main Demons and copper for the Kabuto parts. I do really enjoy this suit. However, it's important to note, because both of these suits are a part of the history of my least favorite suit in the (main) show.

OVER DEMONS

Over Demons basically just slaps the two suits together to poor effect. The undersuit is unchanged from Demons, and the torso armor is nearly unchanged from Vail, and they do not mix. The Vail armor adds 2 new colors, a new silver and bronze, all of which fight for your attention. Plus, the detail goes overboard, the torso armor adding just a bit too much texture that was gone in the main demons suit. What doesn't help is that the helmet, newly designed for the suit, adds 2 NEW COLORS, a light blue and a bluish white. It is too much.

And this is the problem with many of Revice's slapped together suits (even some of the main suits if you dislike Thunder Gale). It slaps two aesthetics together that do not mesh at all. Another great example of this is Evil/Live. The undersuit is really detailed and has a lot of colors, but the smooth black torso armor balances it all out. Then live adds a shiny white and highlighter yellow for some reason.

They use reuse to either over detail the designs, have too many colors or both. That's not to say reuse is bad, it isn't. And I get it, Revice was strapped for budget. However it can be done well. Evility Live uses the Evil undersuit and mixes it with the Holy Live armor to great effect. Destream uses the century suit, which is in a neutral white with some red details, and gives it a cool blue touch.

It can be done, but Revice sometimes just doesn't. However, that doesn't mean that Kamen Rider Demon's suit was cool enough for me to spend too much money on an action figure of it.

"Hey Pops," Anko greets as she collapses in the seat across from him, since that's unfortunately what she's been calling him ever since he started more or less officially dating Orochimaru.

It's at least better than Kabuto, who will look at him with a straight face and call him Father, even when he's at the hospital and in front of everyone.

"Hello," Kakashi sighs, closing his book because he's learned from experience that Anko will put a kunai through it if she feels like she's being ignored. "Why are you bothering me? I didn't miss another anniversary, did I?"

Neither he nor Orochimaru keep track of that shit, but the kids do, and they'll call them both on it when they forget or fuck something up. If they really cared, they'd remind them before they missed it or agreed to take a mission out of the village for it, but whatever. Belated anniversary dinners are kind of their thing.

Orochimaru does like an excuse an to put on a dress and Kakashi likes anything non-destructive that makes Orochimaru happy, so it's mostly a net positive.

"Tsunade and Jiraiya are back and in the tower with Dad," she says.

Kakashi blinks, waiting for the punch line.

It doesn't come.

"Really?"

"Sasuke is there too," she adds.

He's bolts. Orochimaru can more than handle his teammates, but the first time either of them say something to piss of Sasuke, that bastard is going to pull a sword on them and then he's going to have to explain to Naruto why he let his boyfriend get eaten by a frog.

Sorry if I missed any of your thoughts on this, I’m not caught up on Narufox AU but will there ever be a happy redemption for Kabuto, do you think, like the rest of the other characters? I think I read one of your asks before where you said you don’t like him and I totally respect that but I’m just curious because he’s my personal favorite lol. If not, again I totally respect that!! Either way, I think all your comics are really cute and they bring me so much joy :)

I have no plans of rendemption for him :'( And mostly because I want him to be bad enough for it, he's basically taking Orochimaru's spot but for real this time and as much as I love Orochimaru as a character he was totally unforgivable to me.

I also wanted Kabuto to go "all the way" because that's all I dislike about his character, I could have gone with him being a spy and one of the good guys instead, but I really thought he'd be more fun as THE bad guy.

I hope you understand that I'm doing this as a good thing for him and not just making him evil because I dislike him, since I'd much rather have a character be really evil and fully commited to his role, than not having a defined goal to stick to.

In some corner of character pages, some tell event dates. I flipped through the book, and found 29 of them. I think it's all of it. Let's construct timeline. y = years ago from 4th war end. (character)

??y (Kaguya) - Kaguya subdued neverending conflict, and so was called a goddess, and gained people's respect. ~67y (Tobirama) - Hashirama becomes Hokage, As Shodai's counselor, as 2nd Hokage, Tobirama made cold/composed organization structure. ~66y (Madara) - Madara leaves Konoha, becomes missing nin. Madara's beliefs unable to gain support by his fellow members. Alone, chose the path of Konoha rebellion. ~66y (Oonoki) - Younger days was completely defeated by Madara, idiom(unable to lift hand,feet -> so powerless/outmatched as if Oonoki was paralyzed.). In the depths of hopelessness, the shine of his will weakened.

To become Hokage, To protect everyone, Mid-Ambition, his life was lost. Dan's desires that Tsunade inherits. many jp fans believe Tobirama died in 2nd Shinobi war also. if you believe it, then we can estimate Hokage terms like this...

1st (Hashirama) 67y-55?y. ~12y+ term, Tsunade's age. Doesn't make sense for Tsunade to be granddaughter.

2nd(Tobirama) 55?y-31y, ~19y- term, 67-31=36y + 24(Izuna's death age) = +60s years old. Seems fit Hashirama's first person pronoun change from jump magazine to book. "washi"(old man) -> "ore"(normal male pronoun in anime, but rough in real life. ),Tobirama keeps "washi", so sounds old.

Who better to fall for venomous Naruto than Shino, the man who would be right there at his side training to be Deadly with him?

And you know how his bugs feed on Naruto's chakra and get more venomous as a result? I propose that Shino can feed off chakra too and the same happens with him to an extent. And him getting drunk on Naruto’s chakra, aka hive crack!!!!!

Shino who is basically Naruto’s shadow for years falls in love when he’s twelve years old.

It’s right before graduation, they had been let out early for the day and were soaking up the last days of freedom before they were either named Genin or… not. They should probably be studying but Naruto is fried and about to crawl out of his skin and Shino…

Well Shino was never good at denying his friend anything.

So they are sitting under a tree in Naruto’s family’s compound. Shino, at least, is sitting. Naruto is hanging ups wide down with his legs hooked over a branch and leaves tangled in his long and shaggy hair like he was trying to combine both Anko and Orochimaru’s styles and landed on something entirely new. Naruto si smiling at him, beaming with those fangs that he used to keep hidden away behind pinched lips on full display.

“Do you think we’ll be on a team together Shino?”

He doesn’t. With how the teams have been assigned for the last few years Naruto is likely to end up with Uchiha and his pink fangirl. Still…

“Even if we aren’t we can still train together.” He offers instead.

Naruto laughs, head dropping until the ends of his hair drag in the grass. “Of course we can! It would be weird to be without you. I’d miss you and the hive.”

Shino blinked, grateful not for the first time that Naruto couldn’t see that he had been caught off guard.

Naruto had of course never minded the beetles but… to miss them? To recognize them as something similar but not the same as Shino? To want to be around them?

Shino didn’t think it was possible outside of his own clan. (He should have expected it. After all, Naruto knew what it was like to be other.)

“We would miss you too.”

Naruto laughs and falls off of the branch. It is only Shinso’s quick reaction time that spares him cracking his skull open on the ground below.

Kabuto still clicks his tongue at his youngest sibling as he checks for signs of a concussion, drawn by the sound of Naruto’s hysterics. The manic laughter always a sure sign that he had been hurt.

Shino watches the blond squirm under his brother’s hands and decides right there that this would be his future.
