i'm not sure if this is me overthinking things or my media gcse is actually paying off but i wanted to talk about this detail from pandemonium that i haven't seen anyone else point out.

(this kinda unravels into a character study halfway through don't question it)

in chapter 5 (subs here), Shizuku talks about a childhood memory where Tsukasa intervened in an argument her friend group was having. She adds that this interaction made her realise that Tsukasa is the kind of person who really values his friends. Fast forward a second and Shizuku has complimented Tsukasa to the point of embarrassment, Rui teases him over it and Tsukasa gets annoyed and asks what kind of person he takes him for.

Specifically what I want to talk about is Rui's response to that, or lack of response, since he never gets the opportunity before the group moves on to their next tour spot. Internally we see that he agrees with Shizuku's take that Tsukasa is the kind of person who loves his friends a lot, remembering that Tsukasa had been looking out for him and encouraging him to make friends during the trip. He ends up coming to the conclusion that Tsukasa's happiness comes from seeing his friends happy, which makes sense, since we already knew it works the same with Saki. As I said though, he never gets to actually say that out loud.

Kind of.

While I wouldn't question it if only Shizuku had mentioned this detail about Tsukasa and the scene had moved on, the fact that they added that little bit on the end with Rui realising that statement is true makes me go into delusional media student mode.

Point #1: HOLY SHIT the Rui character development in this event was insane. That deserves its own post which I will write some other time but I was genuinely not expecting this to be the end of his first character arc. I mean, we still haven't got the last WxS event of the season yet so they might throw in an epilogue, but this felt like a proper conclusion to his character arc. Rui started out as someone who didn't have any close friends, he was lonely, and in this event he's finally starting to make friends outside of other MCs and actually coming to terms with the fact that, yes, his friends do care about him and his wellbeing. To put it shortly, he feels loved.

Point #2 slash Point #1.5: I said kind of. Does he answer Tsukasa's question out loud at the time? No. It was kinda rhetorical anyway but shhhh. But. Does he answer it later? Yes absolutely. Chapter 8 specifically (no fan TL yet so I'm running off DeepL and wiktionary as normal). You see what I said above, about how they could've just left it with Shizuku saying that Tsukasa is someone who cares about his friends and then just moved on? Yeah this is what I mean. The whole event still works if you remove the part with Rui. But including it does add a little set up for chapter 8. What kind of person does Rui think Tsukasa is?

Chapter 8 is where Rui outright admits that Tsukasa changed his life. Without Tsukasa inviting him to join WxS, he never would've gotten close with Nene again, never would've met Emu, never would've had friends. And thanks to that, he's now able to keep making new friends. He's happy. Thanks to Tsukasa, he can be happy now. Ship or not, Tsukasa impacted Rui's life a lot. Going back to chapter 5 of the event, that's where Rui realises that his friends, or Tsukasa specifically, actually cares about his wellbeing and his happiness, something which he wouldn't have been able to say a few months prior in-universe. Again, ship or not, Tsukasa is like. the most important person in his life right now.

Point #3 slash 2 / 1.5 part 2: This one's less media student and more overthinking it but still a media student. But whatever. Anyway, maybe I'm thinking too hard about the fact that Rui specifically outlines that Tsukasa's happiness comes from seeing his friends happy, but like. I wonder if that realisation is part of the reason why he even told Tsukasa all of that. Like. He's not normally very honest about his feelings, hell he doesn't even realise them half of the time. Even in his last WxS event, he never told the other members about the job offer Asahi gave him, he doesn't even realise how much the prospect of leaving WxS was hurting him until Asahi had to take back the offer for him because of how sad and pained he looked when he accepted it. So the fact that he's fully aware that yes, Tsukasa had an impact on his life, yes, he feels like he's loved and cared for by the people around him, yes, he actually wants to make friends, yes, he's truly happy - it really sticks out, the fact that for like the first time, someone didn't have to tell him this to his face. It sticks out that he even admitted it out loud to the person his feelings revolve around.

But trail back up again to where I mentioned chapter 5. Tsukasa's happiness comes from his friends' happiness. Rui is a much kinder character than people give him credit for. I don't think it would be out of the question for him to want to give back some of the genuine happiness Tsukasa gave him. I mean he says it, right? He thanks Tsukasa for giving him the chance to change his life. And it does make Tsukasa happy to hear that Rui is happy; he says he's welcome, but still points out that Rui came to this point by his own will as well. He's happy that Rui was able to turn his life around.

Like literally the very last thing said in the event. Rui finally has friends, people who love and care for him. He's finally genuinely happy.

Fufu. I'm sorry Tsukasa-kun, but …… this is also going to be a fun memory for me! You really make me smile a lot, Tsukasa-kun! And with those smiles, I will make new friends and new relationships.

The quiet of the night is when it dawns on Tsukasa that his slow descent into falling in love with you is no longer something he can ignore.

You spent hours with him in his chambers tonight, fire crackling and bathing your face in warm light. He watched you warm your tired fingers by the flames, stretching each of them patiently while speaking. Genuine laughter bubbled out of him at your jokes and stories, gratefulness searing through him at every smile you cast his direction.

It’s why he can’t sleep, instead pushing at the embers of the fire that has been slowly dying every moment since your departure. The absence of your voice and your broken attempts at Japanese that give way to joyous English have left him with too much alone time to ponder how he ended up here.

Do I even know what love is?

The question weighs him down where he sits, his arms resting against his knees that are pulled up and toward his chest. He probably looks far more childlike than he ever has sitting in this position, head slumped to the side and hair spilling down his shoulders. Does he know what love is?

There has never quite been an abundance of it in his life, his parents too preoccupied with their own struggles and demons to concern themselves with his. They may have loved him at one point but those days are so far passed now, it doesn’t make him feel hurt or happy to think of them. It simply doesn’t matter if they loved him or not, they can never make amends for it now.

Thinking of his parents makes him think of his sister, a thought he accepts with a defeated sigh. He knows he loves Mirai and that in all likelihood she’s probably the only thing that has ever really loved him back and now that he’s thinking, he saw love even when she was looking thinner and paler by the day in her hospital bed.

Love was stored in the machines that kept her alive, he thought, despite science truly being the key to keeping her body capable of existing. Love was stored in the bouquet he’d bought from the flower shop on the corner outside of the hospital, something beautiful for her to look at on the off chance she arose. Love was the doctor reassuringly patting his forearm every time he visited, a gentle reminder that they were there to help.

So he does know what love is yet he still agonizes over being in love.

This is where he feels blindsided, knowing love lives in the musical notes of your laugh and the curls in your hair. The shape of your hands when you curl them around one of the tea cups he only drags out for you and when you use them to gauge the temperature of your patients by touch. Love is your smile, the wrinkle of your nose, the natural set of your eyebrows…

Love is everything you are. It makes him ache to wonder if he could ever be worthy of this same agony from you. Are you stoking a fire sadly in your own home, wondering how it would feel to jump feet first into love instead of wondering if you’re deserving of it?

Surely not you, the woman most worthy of love he can imagine.

The embers further burn out and Tsukasa resolves to turn in for the night but not before hoping, wishing, perhaps even praying in the way he has seen the herbalist on a few occasions, that you intrinsically know how loved you are. How you are the reason the world turns, as far as he’s concerned. That the only thing worth being depetrified for, aside from his sister, is the hope of spending another day near you.

His heart beats so hard against his chest he can almost convince himself the magic carried in his hopes is working, each pound of the muscle keeping him alive echoing the sound of your name in his ears.

TBHK Theory (as of 102)

That's right. Not an analysis of THIS chapter, per se, but an overarching theory of the manga as a whole that incorporates what we see in this chapter, because WHY NOT.

The TLDR of it all is - what if the whole thing's about love?

I'm still hashing this idea out, and I think it may still need a precipitating event - something that would have happened even without the Time Shenanigans, or could have happened without them. At present, I'm thinking that's the real 'curse of the red house' - that the house was trapped in paradox and that's why it drove everyone who tried to live there to madness and death, but …I'm hazy on that idea, it doesn't feel complete yet. Still, it does feel like that's the closest we have, at present, to a true divergence-point in the overall timeline.

Consider this: Tsuchigomori says that Amane was not supposed to die. He was supposed to live, and become a teacher. For that to be the case, Tsukasa's sacrifice has to have happened - and his return from the red house has to NOT have happened. In the red house, little Tsukasa says he "could have left at any time, he just felt like he probably shouldn't". So that's a 'point of choice' - if Tsukasa LEAVES the house, you get the main story loop. If he DOESN'T LEAVE, you get the timeline that Tsuchigomori had in his book.

And what makes him leave? He meets Nene. Who encounters the red house at a point where supernaturals are blocked from interacting with the main world. So it's possible, at least, that Nene encountering Tsukasa in that manner, at that point in time, was a 'time flex' that happened outside of all the others, the one that got the ball rolling.

Let me get back to this. Because it's behind all the rest of it. The question that makes me think this might all be a straight up tragic love story on both sides is - what if it WAS love that set it all in motion?

Like…this.

Imagine you're Amane. You're kind of an outsider. Kind of a nerd. You've got your twin brother, who despite being your twin is…really odd. And yet, he's popular where you're not. And you never meet anyone that would be your friend.

But there's…this ONE girl. This one, beautiful girl.

And you can never find her, but sometimes, just sometimes, she finds you. And it's never when you're at your best, whatever that might be. It's always when you're alone, afraid, Definitely Not Looking Sharp. And yet she's always concerned for you, always kind. And your brother seems to get it (well, you're twins, and he might be weird but he IS your twin so maybe he OUGHT to get it?) And you tell your brother about this girl. And you can't find her, but you'd like to, and he says he can help. So he says make this clock work. You've got to do it within this set time frame, or it's not going to do anything. But if you CAN make it work, you'll find that girl again.

So you do. You put the nerd brain to work and you make the clock go, and your brother's right - you meet the girl. And she loves you. She even tells you she loves you (or otherwise makes it clear - I mean this is the point in the loop we're AT, but the latest chapter makes it look like she may well do this.)

But then there's the price.

Firstly, you've fucked with a Wonder. Your life is going to turn short and brutal. (The Rumors of the First Wonder say that if you mess with the clock, the school's Time is yours to control - but if the Wonder catches you, they steal all the time you would have had.) But secondly, maybe…you don't mind. Maybe you forgive it. Because the reason that clock trick worked at all is that the girl who comes to you, that girl who loves you, ISN'T EVEN BORN YET. And the only way you're ever going to meet her, be with her, is if you throw everything you have now away forever. So you do it. You throw it all away. Including your life, your family's life, your brother's life. And it huuuuuuurts. Boy does it hurt.

And it's still not enough. Your brother warns you, there's still another step you have to take. You can't just be a 'ghost'. You have to be a 'supernatural'. And there's another price to pay for that. But you've already done so much. One more thing is just…one more thing.

So you become a supernatural…and the price turns out to be forgetting the reason why.

(Or: Why I Think Hanako's Being All Spacy Right Now - Poor Kid Might Just Be Starting To Remember.)

Ok, about Hanako and Tsukasa I was actually thinking about making a post about them, analyzing the relationship between them from the beginning based on the information we already have about them.

Tsukasa who has the seal is a Yorishiro, as has already been made clear, which makes him the same as Sumire, a Yorishiro with human form, who thinks, has opinions, desires and also memories.

Memories are the key point here, the fact that a yorishiro has them can end up confusing us, because it gives the impression that they are the real people represented here. As we saw Hakubo's reaction when he saw Sumire in her own boundary, he is actually scared and shocked to see her, which confirms that the "real" Sumire has already died a long time ago.

So let's assume that there are 2 Sumires, the real one who died a long time ago and the yorishiro, who is a representation of the real one, and who exists to keep the 7 mysteries in line so that they fulfill their duty, as Sakura said. In Sumire's case she lives and relives the same day in a loop, the day she died.

But we see during the time that Hanako and Yashiro were there that they managed to get her out of the boundary. She walked freely even after the separation. She was about to get on the train along with the other supernaturals when she ran into Sakura, meaning Tsukasa could do the same.

It is worth remembering that nowhere was it said that yorishiros must "obligatorily" stay within the boundary, but that they will probably be there so that their owners can protect them.

In Tsukasa's case, Hanako didn't attack him once, I'm lying, there was one but with the intention of keeping him away from Yashiro, nothing that would actually hurt him.

Every time Hanako sees Tsukasa he sweats coldly, his breathing is labored, his eyes are petrified, as if he remembers his sin at the time he sees him, but as time passes, he relaxes.

To the point that sometimes Tsukasa hugs him and he doesn't react negatively, he doesn't push him away abruptly. It suggests that Hanako is ashamed to see what he did to her brother, especially when he mentions that Amane killed him. Tsukasa seems to reflect the side that Hanako hates in himself.

And this is such an interesting fact because the first time I saw Tsukasa appearing in the anime I was thinking that he was Hanako's "fault" or in other words, I believed that he had taken his own life and that guilt haunted him. When still in the same chapter it was revealed that he was his twin brother, which left me much more intrigued than before.

Hanako allows Tsukasa to roam freely, but there are signs that he lived on Hanako's boundary, I talked about it in a post, here it is if you're interested.

Tsukasa has a habit of killing smaller creatures with his hands and uses their blood to paint the walls. Hanako's boundary has these same paintings, and some of these "hands" are actually present there, one of them took Yashiro, but it is interesting to note that some of them have bruises and even bandages, like the old Amane.

I'm still going to analyze the existence of these hands that are everywhere, including on some manga covers and even on the series logo.

Leaving that aside, Tsukasa was on the boundary, but he found a way out. And at some point he joined Sakura, Natsuhiko and Mitsuba, in some random place in the school that is beyond the limits of the living because of the water on the floor. If he found Mitsuba then he can probably return to the red house whenever he wishes. That's assuming Mitsuba found him there (due to the photo of the house in his room)

The golden question is: "Why did Hanako leave him free even though he was her yorishiro?" We saw that Hakubo didn't even know about Sumire's existence, and she went wandering around, but Hanako knows about Tsukasa. Sometimes I get the impression that Hanako and Tsukasa are in cahoots, there are some clues about that. As if he let Tsukasa do these things on purpose, he pretends to stop it but doesn't really stop it. He said he would remove Mitsuba from the number 3 seat but he never spoke of it again when he left the boundary, he even calls Mitsuba number 3.

And it seems that the Joudais have a connection, every time Tsukasa uses his, Hanako's alerts him, what are the Joudais? In short, Tsukasa found a way out and Hanako allowed it. He didn't make a point of going after him, in fact he wants to keep him away. The problem is that he doesn't do anything to stop him from doing what he's doing now.

But in Hanako's defense, Tsukasa seems to have been missing for years. He says it's been a while since he saw Amane "how long has it been? 10, 20 years?" Tsukasa said. And his first appearances were as a black crane, which was spying on Hanako until he took out some yorishiros, he waited for Hanako to attack him and when he did he took his original form, scaring Hanako who really looked like he hadn't seen Tsukasa in years.

That is, apparently Tsukasa was destroyed before and was away from Hanako for many years, but when Yashiro appeared, he returned. Who destroyed Tsukasa as yorishiro? Kou's grandmother? or Hanako himself? And why did he only come back when Yashiro showed up?

These are very interesting questions. Anyway, the answer was much longer than I expected. XD sorry about that. One day I will make a more detailed post about this. I hope you liked it, and thanks for the question again :3

okay i'm probably getting ahead of myself but i'm SO excited for the clock keepers' trial bc i'm constantly puzzling over all the time fuckery in tbhk and specifically wondering about how all of the time travel seems to center around nene. and i've been wondering, is this just bc she's the heroine so we see most of the story through her eyes? I feel like that's possible, but we get a lot of perspectives that aren't hers and scenes where she's not there as well!! so i think maybe it is specific to nene! and if so, she might be in some hot water with this trial, on account of her extensive list of:

time crimes!

(even if she didn't really have any control over them lol, they still all revolve around her! and i don't know how understanding the clock keepers are about that sort of thing...)

so before the trail, let's revisit nene's time crimes! (and let me know if i missed any!)

time crime 1: meeting amane as a student after escaping the place between worlds. this is the first one, but perhaps also the one that could get her in the most trouble, as she straight up stole a key from the past and brought it to the present! who knows what butterfly effect that may have had!

time crime 2: transporting to the 1964 star festival and chatting with a little amane! unintentional as always, but she left an impression, and figured out how to get herself back to her own time. impressive time skills with worrying implications about the repercussions!

time crime 3: intentionally trying to change the timeline after meeting a 4-year-old tsukasa in the red house!

though, idk if this fits in with the theory, bc if nene gets in trouble with the timekeepers for this then kou should also be here in court right? but maybe they just couldn't find him lol. for his sake i hope that's the case...

...bc if this actually affected the timeline it was probably the biggest time wreckage of the series yet, so. prayer circle for kou if this gets brought up in court lmao

time crime 4: running into middle school tsukasa amidst some school festival time fuckery. really interesting that tsukasa doesn't seem surprised... like he knew he would find nene there... even more questions but that spiral is maybe for another time lol. once again it's not intentional on her part, but very much happens to (because of?) her specifically

bonus: not necessarily a time crime, but maybe one? at least something that furthers the connection between nene and time working strangely around her: mitsuba's picture of the red house doesn't develop until it's in her hands specifically. sure, this could be red house magic. but why wouldn't it have developed for mitsuba? it sorta seems to me like nene could be the thing that developed this picture from the past, but it's a less solid theory, as we haven't really seen anything else like this that we can compare it to (unless i'm forgetting something! please let me know if i am!)

i'm super excited for the trial bc i have a lot of questions about why time moves so strangely around nene, and maybe we'll get answers about that in the trial!

the other most exciting part, for me, about these things potentially being brought up in the trial, is that nene hasn't told hanako about talking with past versions of tsukasa. and as someone who eats up angst like it's candy, i cannot express how much i would love to see hanako finding out from a third party (the clock keepers) that tsukasa and nene, the two most significant people in his life, who he usually tries to keep separate, have been traipsing through time together and never got around to telling him about it. how would hanako, who almost never willingly gives up information about himself, react to finding out that nene got information about him from tsukasa in secret?

and right after she just told him she loves him ): how sad would that be? <3

(it’s honestly likely that none of this will come up with all the clock stuff going on, but it’s fun to think about!!)

HIGH & LOW: THE WORST SERIES

HIGH & LOW FANFICTION

FF2: YOUNGBLOOD

Although they have proven that they are responsible enough to partake in adult matters, they couldn't deny the fact that they are still teenagers and Murayama better teach his brats to have awareness for danger and life and death situations.

"Fujio-san look!!"

"Oh?! That's awesome!!"

"Right?!"

"Kiyoshi check this out!!"

"Damn!"

...

It was an eventful evening. The air permeated blood and sweat, as well as the clearing of dust from earlier's fiasco. Groans and hisses of pain can be heard and yet a series of shouts from excited teenagers earned their attention.

It was an intense battle. A war to settle old scores of unfinished businesses once and for all. When Kuryuu conceded defeat after the casino project was exposed and the law enforcement were hot on their tails, the Korean mafia tried to undertake SWORD once more with the help of the Mighty Warriors, and the remaining Doubt members, without Ranmaru, and as well as Kidra with the Kanehira brothers.

Old enemies who decided to taunt SWORD once again under Lee's command. They started their old ways, with red rum beginning to resurface again, girls were once again vulnerable to Doubt's exploitation and terror, and the series of threats and warnings left on their territories just like how it was back then with the Mighty Warriors.

This led SWORD to once again unite and settle scores with them. Cobra led Sannoh Rengokai, Rocky with White Rascals, Murayama returning to take the reins for Oya High since they couldn't and wouldn't let Fujio, a teenager still lead Oya into a battle of grown ups much to their protests. While Takeshi and Pi became co-leaders for the Rude Boys in honor of Smokey, and of course, Hyuga still got his signature bitch face as he led Daruma Ikka.

The container yard fight was phenomenal since it was the first time that the whole SWORD district has united, and even better that the legendary Amamiya brothers were part of, but this time, the Amamiya brothers weren't present and instead of the container yard, the old railway tracks, where they had fought Doubt the first time, was where the fight took place this time.

As intense as it was, SWORD had won the fight and Lee had fled the country when he knew that he had no chance of taking down SWORD in his current state.

...

After the eventful fight, Rocky just wanted to take a rest and maybe have a smoke after but instead, he could feel a headache coming, not because he was hit in the head earlier with a pipe but because a certain raven haired teen is pestering him with a wide grin plastered on the latter. That teen being Hanaoka Fujio, Oya's full-time leader and to no surprise, Murayama's brat. They are junior and senior indeed.

"You're White Rascal's leader!! It's a pleasure to meet 'cha!"

Despite his battered state, he is pretty energetic that Rocky doesn't have the strength to keep up. He's pretty tired and talking to the teen is only making him more and more restless with Fujio's constant questions and bursts of excitement.

"Is your teeth real silver?!"

"How do you manage to maintain your suit so white?!"

"Even mom couldn't easily wash off the blood on my uniform, and it's black!"

"Murachi told us that you're a grouchy person, but I think he's wrong!"

"Do you think it will suit me if I wear dark glasses too?! Maybe I should!"

"Tsukasa also admires you, he just doesn't want to admit it!!"

"Take it easy, brat. I swear you're more eccentric than Murayama at this point."

He could already feel a pulse inside his head that he raised a hand to stop Fujio from asking ridiculous questions any further and tapped the ground lightly with his cane, when Fujio came to realize something the moment he mentioned Murayama.

"Oh right! I have to see Murachi!"

With a cheerful wave, Fujio scampered away and began to look for Murayama like a lost puppy with his tail wagging while looking for its owner and even if Rocky finds it endearing, he's relieved that the teen finally left. He's not getting any younger and talking to a jovial person like Fujio will surely make him age faster than Cobra can drive his bike.

...

Meanwhile, on the other side, Hyuga is amused by the teenagers in front of him with their innocent -not really- looks. Practically, in his eyes, they're still babies despite those menacing looks and their thirst for fighting. Like little gremlins. In fact, he liked their spirit, but they're still brats so he would take a pass because he doesn't have the energy to babysit children, much less he had his hands already full with the Daruma babies.

More importantly, he could feel Cobra and Rocky's glare even from a couple of feet away when he jokingly offered the teen, from what he learned earlier was named Jamuo, his roll of weed. He swore the kid was about to pee his pants in his presence.

"You kids shouldn't really have been here in the first place but I guess Murayama's brats are of different breed."

Sakyo commented at the side which made Hyuga smirk and the others chuckle while the teenagers, mainly, Yasushi, Kiyoshi, Jamuo, Nakagoshi and some other full-timers who protested at the remark saying they weren't kids anymore.

"So you're the infamous Hyuga huh?"

Yasushi stated with a feral grin which made Hyuga to raise a brow and replied with a bored tone.

"What's it to you brat?"

Yasushi's grin got wider, ignoring Hyuga's remark of him, he cracked his knuckles in excitement and tilted his head, looking at the older man in a taunting manner.

"Wanna go at it?"

Not minding his beaten up state, he confidently challenged Hyuga who let out a laugh and took a whiff of his blunt and blowing it to Yasushi's direction. Somehow, Hyuga could see his younger self in the teen. The reckless and blood thirsty Hyuga who seeked for revenge a couple of years ago before he finally settled and let go of his anger, thanks to Cobra, but don't tell him that.

"Give it up. I don't beat up kids and you're injured. Murayama would fuss and I hate dealing with his annoying ass either so I'll pass."

This made the teens protest once again and Yasushi with his partner Kiyoshi was about to take a lunge at Hyuga to provoke him was stopped when Fujio approached and put an arm around their shoulders which earned a groan from Kiyoshi and an irritated glare from Yasushi which Fujio just laugh it out to ease the tension.

"Now now. You're injured dude, take it easy."

"Speak for yourself, ya' got a nasty black eye and can't barely stand."

The three teens bickered with Jamuo and Nakagoshi standing at the side with a restless expression. Ukyo and Sakyo watched the teenagers in amusement, commending them with their bravery in joining the fight with adults and actually withstanding it, even still having the energy to bicker with each other after. While Hyuga rolled his eyes and decided to take a nap on the hood of his car, not having the energy to watch children fight among themselves.

"Nakagoshi-san!! You have to hear this!"

With a distant call from above, on the elevated railings were Nakaoka and surprisingly, Bernie from Mighty Warriors who also waved which earned a confused look from Nakagoshi but relented and rushed towards them.

After the fight, the remaining Doubt and Kidra members fled, together with Might Warriors but somehow, Bernie, and not to mention, Jesse and Pho decided to stay a little longer. Despite the earlier heated fight with them, the moment they've recieved Sarah's call that Lee had terminated them and left, they immediately ceased to fight, having no sense in it when they aren't going to get paid in the end. Ice was pissed and left with the others but the three stayed, finding it amusing to see teenagers joining an adults fight.

Nakaoka had caught Bernie's eyes because of his style and after the fight had ceased, they immediately got into talking about hiphop jams and Bernie found it amusing how the teenager's eyes would sparkle upon listening to his stories about how Mighty Warriors was formed and his hobby of DJ-ing. It turns out that Nakaoka also wanted to be a DJ someday so he tried giving him tips to which the younger man happily nodded and even called his senior, Nakagoshi in excitement. Bernie was more than happy to teach the kid what he knows. In spite of their initial start, he liked the kid's enthusiasm in DJ-ing, something they shared. Some men do get along really well if they share something similar even if they started as enemies and that applies to them.

"I like this kid."

He stated in English while Nakagoshi curiously sauntered towards them with a curious look and Bernie could feel another teen is about to he amused of his awesomeness that he couldn't help but let out a wide grin. Maybe Ice wouldn't mind if he would snatch some teens and bring them over to their place. Maybe.

...

On the train rails, was Todoroki helping Tsukasa to stand up straight when the blonde haired teen twisted his ankle during the fight. They were talking about how Murayama would flip at them after this since they basically disobeyed his rule of no full-time students partaking in SWORD matters but they couldn't help it, not when Kidra had messed with them once again and Doubt even tried to harm high school girls, not on their watch.

"You better get that checked out this instant."

A baritone voice stated and they went alert to see Pho standing over the train tracks above them. Thinking he came back to finish a job well done, they went into fighting mode to which the big man shook his head.

"Relax. Fight is over. More importantly, you kids shouldn't have joined in the first place. What were they thinking, letting teenagers fight with adults."

Despite his intimidating appearance, he suddenly looked like a big brother figure when he began scolding them passively to which they were left speechless.

"Ya' kids should spend your time studying, not getting involved in fights, especially these kind of fights where you can get killed. Did Cobra even agree that you kids should be here? Wait, your leader is Murayama right? He should know not to bring highscool kids into danger."

Todoroki was taken aback and Tsukasa did not know what to say. Instead of protesting to how they treat them as kids and calling them like they're still infants, the two just looked at each other and to Pho whose currently eyeing for Murayama.

Never did they thought that a man like him who looked like a ruffian thug had a soft heart and Todoroki could guess that he has a soft spot for kids despite his appearance. They did not know exactly hos background but they have heard that he's gotten out of prison before joining Mighty Warriors with Jesse so they have assumed that he's like some blood lusty man with the need to seek violence but it looks to it that they were wrong.

"Don't call us kids. We're used to fighting and we won't let them get away when they mess with us. Murayama understands so he can't do anything about it."

Todoroki answered with a firm voice while Tsukasa was silent. Pho looked at them for a minute before bending down to offer a hand.

"I see."

He didn't say anything more and looked at them, still offering a hand to which Tsukasa first accepted and got out of the tracks, same as with Todoroki

"You should be careful. Some fights can end in a bloodshed. Don't rush things. You're all still young, you should take care."

With a serious expression, he turned his back and walked away with a wave. The two just stared at his retreating figure.

His words did hit them. They knew how lucky they are to survive the fight. It wasn't just like the fights that they had with others because they knew that joining in SWORD matters involves life and death, a reason why Murayama made a rule to divide the part-timers and full-timers. But they knew that Murayama still needed them, especially for this fight although the older man wouldn't want to endanger teenagers like them so they were the one to make the decision and insistently joined the fight. They all made their convictions to face the consequences later, especially when facing Murayama's wrath who is currently being scolded by Cobra and the Rude Boys in a distance.

"That sounds sick, dude!"

"Right?! I'm awesome like that!"

"So who won between you and Cobra?"

"Ahh that, too bad, we never got to finish our fight."

Tsuji and Shibaman looked at each other before looking back at Jesse whose currently crouching by a crate. The two were also close by him, too invested in his stories with the Mighty Warriors and his life in prison. They were like delinquents gossiping, except that it is actually what is happening that no one would even think that they were fighting earlier, or more like Jesse was toying with the two teenagers. Although he admits that the duo were strong, just not enough experience to par with an adult like him who've gone all his life fighting but he commends them.

And now, he's starting to like them when they looked so interested and amused at his life so he started to gloat about his fights and it didn't disappoint because the two teenagers were looking at him with gazes of admiration.

"Can you teach us your move, Jesse-san?!"

"Yeah, you were awesome when you kicked his ass!"

"Hah?! You've got your ass kicked too!"

Soon, their insistence for him to teach them his moves escalated into bickering when one or the other would insist who got his ass kicked harder by Jesse that the older man laughed. Honestly, he dislikes kids and couldn't bother himself to interact with teenagers but Tsuji and Shibaman caught his attention because of their dynamics in fighting and their stand out hair colors. He liked their style.

"Whoops, I guess Cobra misses me. Yo, Cobra! Wanna finish our fight?"

Jesse waved at a serious looking Cobra, together with a restless Yamato and a happy looking teen whose grinning from ear to ear. He could even spot a whinning Murayama not far behind with Furuya and Seki.

"Why are you still here? Your friends have already left."

"Aww come on don't be like that. I ain't your enemy now."

Jesse playfully stated but Cobra looked unamused. Instead, he just sighed and looked at the teen beside him whose eyes were sparkling, staring at Jesse.

"Ohh!! You're Jesse! Too bad, I want to see your fight with Cobra-san!"

The golden retriever-- ehem, the teen whose name is Fujio, he learned when Tsuji called out to him, exclaimed in excitement. Jesse let out a smirk and Cobra just rolled his eyes.

"Really kid? Why don't you ask Cobra then? I always have time to spare for a rematch."

Jesse tried to provoke Cobra and Fujio was about to ask the blonde haired older man when Murayama chimed in and dragged the teen away in a headlock to which Fujio let out grunts of protest.

"Later"

Cobra uttered and stormed off, following the two men and Jesse couldn't do anything but stand there, until Pho came and told him that they are leaving.

...

"Oh Tsukasa! You know, I met Jesse and Rocky-san earlier! I want to meet the rest of the Mighty Warriors too but they left."

With a pouting face, Fujio crossed his arms while Tsukasa just sighed, already feeling tired and his ankle isn't helping at all. He just wants to lay on the ground at this point but he knew they were about to recieve some scolding, especially with how Murayama looked so serious and not to mention, Cobra too.

"You kids really took after Murayama. This was a dangerous fight. What were you brats thinking?!"

"Wha-- I'm not like them, Cobra-chan!"

"Shut up. You should be responsible for their safety!"

"But I tried to stop them, and they went behind my back!"

Murayama soon glared at them because he was the one taking the heat from the other SWORD leaders and the teens just looked away, acting in nonchalance that the part-time leader's brow twitched in annoyance. Now he's reconsidering his leave in Oya of their recklessness would continue, although he's glad that they have united as one.

"But we won, right?! That's what matters!"

"Yeah!"

"Did ya' see how I kicked those guys' ass?! They fight shitty for an adult!"

"It was awesome!"

"I know, right?! Keeps my blood pumpin'!!"

At this point, even Cobra has lost the will to scold them, knowing how hardheaded they are. He and Yamato were once like that too back in Mugen and Kohaku had to keep them grounded so he understood where they're coming from. Now that he had matured, he could also understand why Kohaku and Tatsuya were so strict when it comes to them joining in fights because he knew they were just looking out for them and while they were still young, they wouldn't realize the recklessness of their actions until it's too late and Cobra doesn't want that to happen with these teenagers.

While Murayama did change and had matured a bit over the years, from a hotblooded teenager always seeking fights and aiming for the top, he did realize a lot of things the moment he stood at the peak. It was lonely, he now knew, but he had found his path and he wanted to make these kids realize that everything is not just about fighting and aiming to be number one. Being a leader isn't just about being the strongest but it is more than that. He knew these kids got potential and they can achieve greater things but he had to teach them the value of time. They weren't going to be kids forever but it doesn't mean that they have to immediately start acting like adults and involve themselves in matters that they, Murayama and the others, could still handle while they are existing.

"Murayama"

Furuya called out to him.

"I know. Let's go home."

Seki and Furuya nodded and the latter yelled for everyone from Oya to start leaving, some hopping in the truck and others started to help the injured to get in.

"Till next time, Cobra-chan."

Murayama waved and Cobra just nodded with a small smile, barely noticeable but Murayama did. Despite Cobra's irritation, Murayama knew that the former is relieved deep inside that no one died today.

"Oi! Fujio, let's go! Stop pestering them!"

Seki dragged the teen whose currently bothering Yamato and Noboru with his ridiculous questions and the two adults can finally let out a sigh of relief for they couldn't handle his energy for long.

They swore they weren't that cheerful after a serious fight in their youth.

On the other hand....

"Man, I wonder if you'll be just as reckless or more if you've stayed in Oya. I'm sure you'll add to Murayama's reasons for a headache."

"Hah? I'm not reckless! And I'm not anyone's headache!"

"Eh? Have you ever asked Yamato-san?"

Chiharu and Dan bickered at the side while watching Oya High board their truck and Murayama giving Fujio a head flick that the latter held his forehead with a pout.

What is your opinion? Do you think the Minamoto story about Hanako-kun being an evil spirit is true? Do you think he lost control after he died or do you think the Minamoto family altered history to make it seem heroic? Honestly I don't trust the Minamoto family much since I found out about the sacrifices they organized, I'm sure they have more dirty secrets

When I started reading the series,i was like "oh yes?, if it's true its cool i want see him in full of power,if its true"

My "if it's true" means I have some doubts but I'm not sure that didn't happen either.

I already rated teru in the first episode when yashiro showed a photo to Amane. I knew there was something wrong with him, his artificiality in the photo and her flashback was devastatingly obvious to me.

The fact that I don't trust this family from the beginning is a good decision, but I'm also not sure if it didn't happen between them. Of course, there could have been a fight and she could have sealed him, but I realize that Minamoto's grandmother may skip important facts to portray their family as heroes and the supernaturals as villains. Just like Teru did with Aoi.

He knows that there used to be a village here and he knows what happaned to girls to sacrifice. He left out the important part that his barbarian family gouged their eyes out, broke their legs when they booted. Sumire had a good life because she was the only one who accepted it and wanted to live as normal as possible, but even she faced harassment from the residents. Teru spoke of such "privileges" as something good and not harmful, skip such important details and his terrible family. Teru is the same as his ancestors, so I believe Minamoto's grandmother did the same trick.

Amane didn't contradict him either and spoke to Kou as if he had experience, but Amane wants to be considered the worst and thinks that killing is the best option for the supernatural. What holds him back is that he has to do something else he would have given up a long time ago. And also Tsukasa is strong, he's downright op and he shows it all the time could it mean Amane could be as strong as him someday? Still, I don't trust her and what Teru showed before and after in volume 13 to Aoi only made me more insecure, but I also take into account that maybe she was telling the truth in some point just like teru told the truth, skipping the most important details unpleasant "privileges" ' and effectively aside from his family, and honestly I've always thought that the hatred for Amane is special and strange and there's something wrong, as if they want to get rid of the obstacle.

The "true strength" that Tsukasa possesses, not Amane. He is the one who gets stronger and stronger. It's possible that when the seal breaks, Amane can take his power, but that's unlikely, because mystery loses its power and Amane should do the same. Tsuaksa would like to break free for some reason and his power and op are still shown, strange to me too, Teru and him haven't crossed paths yet. That's why I would include Tsukasa in this 'strength', not just Amane. And I would question everything that comes out of the mouth of this lying family. They rarely tell the truth.

That's why I don't trust the Minamoto Family, they are hypocritical liars, hypocritical murderers, and Teru follows their path and I suspect he knows the truth behind the hatred of Amane.

That's why I want to know where lies and truth in this matter. I don't trust them from the beginning and I know that somewhere in this story there is a lie and a truth.

• it was like a surprise party being thrown just for you! Except you knew pretty much all about it. • It was like that, but it wasn't your surprise. It was Yashiro's, your human friend. • How did you know about Tsukasa's secret tea party? Well, you were in said, Tsukasa's crew of rebels. But you didn't know the part about sending Natsuhiko with her! • You disguised yourself as a human being for Tsukasa's plan to rule the school, but during this phase, you gained a girl with seafood green ends for a 'friend' ''(Y/n) Chan! Why are you doing this?!'' the girl with radishes for ankles questioned you. Her teenage body trapped in a beautifully crafted chair. She looked like she should be Alice, and you should be the Cheshire cat. You weren't allowing her to go by herself with that much of a supposed 'Senpai'. ''Aww~ Don't worry Nene! I'll won't leave you alone! Oh and by the way, you might want to hold your breath.'' You clutched onto this beautiful kannagi, in hopes of a fun adventure

Hanako [O Honorable No.7]

• After the incident of well. Amane Yugi's last day, you passed on that same day, the same way. Trying to have him in your arms, so he would know that you would always be by his side • now you both are supernaturals, just on different ranks. • you would always hang around Tsuchigomori, waiting for an adventure, or a certain bathroom ghost. • When the spider disguised as a teacher left for some ''personal time'' in the library, you follow him. I mean why wouldn't you? ''…But as payback…I will broadcast their most embarrassing secrets all over the school'' a familiar voice threatened. You giggled in response, unfortunately for you, you got some attention. Spiderface saw you, so did Hanako, two kids, and Yako. ''(Y/n)! What are you doing here?~'' the bathroom ghost teased you, making yourself wonder, why did you come here? ''Ah yes! My favorite out of Emo spider and No. 7!'' The inari statue skipped a few steps to get close to you, sitting next to your legs proudly. Hanako floated and put his arms around your waist with a question, ''What if they don't tell you their secrets? Will you fight me?'' pointing his knife at the so-called teacher. Making the gomori frown. Later on, the girl with pretty colored hair left with your father figure. Which gave Aman-Hanako the chance to reconnect with you. I mean, you both were two peas in a pod, you know! ''Hello again, old friend''

Tsukasa [The human Yorishiro]

• As much as he cares for you, he cares about power more. • at his little meeting of his with his crew, you figured out that he had somewhat, a hostage. • It was… A Pufferfish?🐡 • where the hell did he get that? • it wasn't like he wasn't going to keep it there as a pet. • never the less, you wrote down your thoughts and situations in your journal, as usual. before ''Ooo! Lemme borrow that for a quick sec!'' his Amber eyes went empty, there was no life inside of them, just pure 'curiosity'. I mean he was just going to use it to 'de-stress' like he always does. Your hand was hesitant in giving the younger twin the pen you were using just a second ago, but you gave in. Knowing that bad things would happen if you didn't obey. ''…And guess what! There were fish!'' he excitedly announced, ''Fish. I sounded what talking fish are like on the inside…doesn't it make you curious? I'M super curious~!'' Tsukasa's voice was filled with this scary tone, the one that sent shivers down your spine like they do in horror and thriller movies. ''Hey Sakura San, what rumor will we spread today?'' you questioned the lady closest to the mic while you yourself were putting on your headphones. Natsuhiko's confident voice fills the room, ''My lady, I think we've been spotted, by this… Fishy thing.'' followed by ''Fish!'' ''It's not really a problem, let it go.'' ''As you wish~'' But before Natsuhiko could throw the sea creature away, the child ghost snatched it from his hands, like stealing candy from a baby. You slowly took off your headphones, wanting to know what the sudden case of interaction was about, only to hear the same question be repeated again. ''What do you think talking fish is like, on the inside?'' ''Don't kill it.'' Tsukasa's ear to ear grin sent even more shivers, causing you to order, ''Don't, Tsukasa.'' His grin turned into a light hearted smile, which unfortunately didn't change the atmosphere in the room. ''Don't worry!'' Hanako's twin reassures, ''I'm just gonna take a little peek!'' The three humans in the room turned away in disgust of how he took advantage of a poor fish and your pen, and turned the desk into a gruesome scene. ''Oh! (Y/n), your pen is dirty, allow me to clean it up for you!!'' The ghost boy passively aggressively 'offered'. At least you guys cleaned up the scene before anyone could notice.

Teru [The oldest Minamoto brother]

• Funny thing was the 'crime scene' wasn't really a crime scene • you both just found a whole ton of supernaturals and…Akane's glasses? • You and Teru figured that the vice president might be in huge trouble, so what can two exorcists do? • Try to save him of course❤!

''Oh my!'' you dramatically gasped to get the supposed couple to see you and the tall blonde next to you. ''Are we… Interrupting something?'' The President questioned, making the couples identites be revealed. You figured out the girl was Aoi San and that they were having a moment, which lead you to teasing Akane about finally getting his girl.

You guys find an exit, and Teru told the squad to not look back. Later on, on this long walk, you overheard Akane and Aoi having such an awkward conversation, which reminded you of the first time you and Teru met each other. ''Aoi reminds me of someone~'' You teased Kou's older brother, causing him to have a noticeable rose tint all over his face. The sad thing is, you only felt dread when you didn't see the purple haired girl when you all made it home.

📝 AHHHHHH FINALLY I POSTED SOMETHING. [BTW requests are open guys. ]I just finished reading volumes 13 and 14 and it made me so sad. 🤧😭 But DAYUM THEY REALLY GAVE US AKANE SIMPS SOME FANSERVICE. [I wish I was Aoi and Yashiro-] But thank you for reading this mortals! Have a good time out there…until next time…

What is your theory on how you think the manga will end? And how many chapters do you think the manga will have? Kind of cliché questions, but I think you must have an interesting theory 😁

It feels like peeling my body apart whenever I try to think about it … but I guess I feel like we have so much more story left to go. I think we've only just begun, with a few things...

I think we are going to go all around the bend, for one thing. Nene-chan has only just come to terms with loving Amane, in the Far Shore arc, but I don't think that is the 'endgame'…. I mean, it can't be, we have much left to learn and do, so that already happening makes me feel like "my God …" ... I do not think HanaNene, alone, is the story.

Somehow, I think Amane and Nene-chan will have to work together to try to save Tsukasa, eventually.... first-- Tsukasa and Nene-chan working to save Amane ... and then , there's someone left behind. the one whos fate was never to live, the one who has never had a wish for his future…

I kind of think of the structure of the entire series as a visual novel, where you're continuously trying different combinations and actions to get the ending you want, haha. Iro-sensei spent so long writing their VNs, I think that's how the mind works ... and why 'timelines' is the structure of JSHK.

I see the series as it is as… maybe … Tsukasa trying to use Nene-chan to unEarth Amane's wishes, dreams… and to try to open a new future for them...? To get Amane to refuse hopelessness?

If I think about Tsukasa … I feel like just growing up with Amane really was "all he ever wanted"; but, I think, Nene-chan would probably find that sad. That he wouldn't imagine anything more … maybe between Amane and Tsukasa, they couldn't figure out 'more'. Both always waiting for the other to confess to something, to beg the other to stay forever. I think Nene-chan has the hope inside of her heart to want to save both of the Yugi … and ah, to understand that saving one, has to mean reaching out to both, refusing to leave any behind.

I think the crux of the manga is something like 'hopefulness', believing in something to be better, wanting something better....

which feels like it ties well into rumors; belief in something can effect its reality. Ties well into the Minamoto's dogma, as well. Lots of rules and systems in place, which are most challenged by different people from different walks-- kaii and human-- coming together to dismantle them.

I think the way rumors work for kaii, is perfectly relatable to how rumors work to living humans, too ... effecting your reality, your life, how you're seen-- and then, in cases like the Minamoto legacy, how your story is told, what you become, etc. You 'are' what people think of you. Ties in to Tsukasa, of course, whos mom rejected his humanity, while his brother embraced it.

Nene-chan, our main character, really exemplifies this philosophy of hopefulness....

secondarily, Kou....

while Amane exemplifies the polar opposite; hopelessness, resignation....

secondarily, Mitsuba

I suppose in some way, I see Tsukasa as a little bit of both ...

wishes, possibility, destruction, fate....

I think, we've spent a lot of time learning more and more about Amane ... we're about to finally see some more of young Tsukasa, maybe talk to him more.

I think Nene-chan needs to find a way around both the Yugi's ways of thinking ...

I kind of ... hope for an entire total timeline reset, something crazy like that, haha. Maybe Nene-chan CAN change the very laws of this world ... through the unlikely union of kaii, human, and God together. As a trifecta, I think Tsukasa, Nene-chan, Amane have everything the world has never planned to see united towards a goal ...

I've also thought of crazy but fun things, like Tsukasa and Nene-chan becoming one person as some kind of hack lol ? or both of the Yugi becoming one person... in any case, I think Nene-chan understanding she loves them both, and Amane understanding he loves both Nene-chan and Tsukasa, are essential for any ending. I don't think Amane will ever have to give up one for the other ... I don't think he ever WOULD. And I don't think Nene-chan would, either!!! Refusing compromises seems essential, since Picture Perfect was already about saying 'no' to a compromise.... we can't leave anyone behind, or give up on someone we want to be in our future.

I don't think my brain works as crazy as Iro-sensei's lol, the world is so vast, but I think the set-up for everything is already completely there... SOMEWHERE....!!!!

I don't know if you've already mentioned it or assumed it, but I'm still wondering what you think about the possibility that Sakura might actually be the "god" shown in the pilot? I know that in general, all of the FIRST chapters are unofficial, and in theory, have nothing to do with canon, but still I allow for the idea, and it has been confirmed in general, that somehow or other, Sakura is/was the leader of all the school mysteries. So I wonder.

Also. Again, I don't know if you've talked about this, so if I'm repeating myself, I apologize, you can ignore what I said.

Honestly I have no idea :'DD Sakura seems indeed really strong/have a lot of authority.

Hakubo doesn't hesitate to do what she asks, and we know Hakubo mostly follows orders of his 'master'.

I do think she could be the being who said to Hanako what to do (so the god he mentions), since she has authority over the mysteries, and Hakubo seemed to not question at all what she said. She could be the one who told ghost Amane that he had to be Hanako-san of the toilet to have his sin forgiven. I do think this is a big possiblity, since as I said, she is the one who appointed Hakubo as number 6. She could have appointed a lot of the mysteries, Hanako not being an exception.

The strange thing to me is that it is pretty clear that she still has to "obey" to Tsukasa (and probably the godlike entity in him). She can only talk to Nene because she knows Tsukasa is not here too.

She is bound to him and can't do what she wants because she asked for a wish from Tsukasa. And we do all know what wishes mean in Hanako kun.

Because of this for example. I do think now it's mostly a lie, or at least something she wished she was. But I won't erase the possiblity of her being human before.

Sakura's goal is to finally go outside and to destroy all barriers between life and death (the near and far shore). I wouldn't be that surprised if Sakura is a god, I don't think it's impossible for a god or supernatural to be bound to another one.

And it is pretty clear to me that she is not from the livings nor from the deads (or she just doesn't care about disappearing) So what can she be expect for a god like entity? (tbh, I also think when she says that, it means that the labels won't exist anymore but I am really really not sure)

I do know that a lot of person think that the god in Tsukasa could be the one Hanako mentions too :0 But I think since there are 'Kamis' in tbhk there isn't only one god. For me Tsukasa has a godlike thing in him but it doesn't erase the fact that Sakura could be a god too. Even some mysteries could be Kamis too, it was said several times. There are a lot of different gods in tbhk and I think it would make sense if Sakura is the one who appointed Hanako as number 7.

And tbh we are missing a lot of 'rules' about the seven mysteries, the gods and links in tbhk to say anything concrete for now in my opinion :// AidaIro probably left some hints but definitely didn't explain

I honestly don't really know what to say XD I think we don't have that much on Sakura and I also think her being named Nanamine (with 7 in her name) is also mostly because we will learn about her with Hanako and Tsukasa's backstory :00 I think we will have some info about her with the mysteries left! For the broadcasting club, they only have Hanako and the clock keepers' yorishiro to destroy (they absolutely don't care about Mitsuba's yorishiro big rip). And I hope we will know more about the seven mysteries and her too in the next chapters ^^

harumichi does not belong in the shitty parents squad with mafuyu's mom and shinei. hell i'd argue that shinei doesn't necessarily belong there either but i really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really do not like shinei so i'm not going to defend him. like agkdjgbf prsk fans are so bad at handling nuance like yes harumichi abused toya - but toya has chosen to forgive him and wants him in his life. despite it all he loves his dad and he knows that his dad loves him too. and this is a relationship he wants to keep and that's OKAY!!!! harumichi has seen the error of his ways and is making an effort to be a better, more accepting, open-minded father. parent-child relationships get fucking COMPLICATED and harumichi and toya's is a really realistic, really nicely written example of that complexity. i see a lot of myself and my mom in them - it's nice to have that represented. but it sucks to see the fandom just like refuse to understand it 😐

95% of the "siblings" headcanons in this fandom feel like a way to preserve mlm ships and make them seem like the only viable option. like you guys are taking every girl in the boys' lives and going "they're siblings!!!!!" so the only "reasonable" thing left to ship is akitoya and ruikasa. like i Swear To God people only get so so so defensive and forceful with headcanoning akito and an, akito and kohane, rui and nene, rui and emu, and emu and tsukasa as siblings because they feel threatened by the fact that these duos do have realistic, healthy romantic chemistry and they need to reinterpret it as something else lest their yaoi ship be tarnished. idk. the damage yaoi brain has done to our society is fascinating

when you say Teru "knows more about Hanako" are you solely talking about what happened with their grandmother? I'm not sure where you're getting the idea he knows that much more about his sins

Hanako is chosen as Hanako-San for a reason, so makes him a sinful supernatural already, and has committed horrible sins of murder, and deceiving (and I theorise he did more awful things for him to end up as "Hanako-San" but I don't have much evidence at the moment) he even continues with that through Nene and sacrificing Aoi and ALL THAT NASTY SHIT

anyways Hanako 1° was chosen as Hanako-San for a reason (not everyone just gets to be a Hanako when the legend of Hanako-San is pretty dark) and 2° his grandmother worked very hard to seal him away 3° Hanako has terrorized the school through the Yorishiros and just making the place a mess 4° has manipulated Kou and Nene and does "good" deeds which is something a supernatural and demon does to mask and create a good idea of themselves

how does Teru overreact when Hanako is terrorizing so many people? how is it suddenly all supernaturals are evil when he treats Mitsuba the same way? how does he go overboard when he does this every night to protect the school?

he acts the same in the chapter with after school too, the way he treats Hanako and how Kou+Teru+Hanako dynamic goes

I'm not so sure what you see Teru hiding to protect Kou?

because Teru has sat Kou down and told him how evil Hanako and the seven mysteries are, and how Hanako is the worst of them all, how his grandmother gave her life to try and seal him away, how he murdered and will continue to deceive, like how Kou acted when he saw Nene with him? do you mean Teru is keeping things from him by how sacred the seven mysteries are? how they're practically God pillers for the school? because that is not something he would have to know at the moment and would definitely not be something he would have to shield him from so badly

Teru not got to have a conversation with Kou about how bad it is that Hanako was taking down school Yorishiros, Teru hiding something just doesn't fit?

Like I said it's just a theory and I know not everyone will understand. There's just little bits that lead me to think: Why is he almost always right?

Also I've mentioned just cause he acts antagonistic towards supernaturals other than Hanako, he doesn't go straight into exorcism immediately. He blackmailed Tsuchi in After School Hanako Kun - sure, it sucks. However, with Hanako he's so certain - even from the very beginning, when most were under the impression just Tsukasa was stirring up bs - he was up to no good.

Little things like that make me think: You know something we don't or like - what the fuck, Teru?

Plus, when Nene pointed out that Akane's glasses may put him in danger due to him being oblivious of supernaturals whom may be around, Teru said something along the lines of: Sometimes you're safer when your ignorant to things going on around you. It leads me to believe it wouldn't be too far out of left field for Teru to withhold info from Kou to protect him. It's something that fills up the question of why does he seem right about almost everything? Unfortunately I don't know what it could be but, it's just a theory.

i usually write on tumblr drafts (yes i've lost drafts many times and no i have not learned my lesson) so i don't change the font here but when I'm on gdocs it's usually Lora bcs i like making things pretty. its not that big of a deal and a nice addition so i change it when convenient depending where i'm writing. i also don't change it on coda if i write on there it's a pain

12- If a genie offered you three writing wishes, what would they be? Btw if you wish for more wishes the genie turns all your current WIPs into Lorem Ipsum, I don’t make the rules.

my 3 writing wishes would probably to be to give me a space where i could write in absolute concentration which also stops time so when i come out, i have time to do other things. (and also preserves my energy, so i dont just immediately crash when i come out). my second wish would be to make tumblr be able to sort through drafts by tag. i have like 147 or so on my enst blog and it's terrible trying to find one specific thing. my third wish is to be able to get inspiration or the words i need by just asking for it, make my life easier pls :pray:

ok so this is from my enst blog cuz tbh i haven't written genshin in a month (post here if ur interested) For most, it would simply just be words, but to Tsukasa, it was music. It was a special kind of music, one which didn’t have a particular beat, nor a particular structure or sound. But what made it so catchy, so catchy that he’d listen to it every second, was the sense of belonging he felt as he listened to your words of “You’re doing wonderful, my dear”. It was a sense of validation that hooked him, more addictive than any melody he had ever heard. It was a song meant for him, in which he both treasured and longed for. It was music to his ears, and nobody else’s, and he’d prefer if it was kept that way. so like. story of this week i went island hopping in coron and there was No Wifi so i started writing for kasa bcs i do not like swimming in the ocean so i stayed on the boat with Nothing To Do. so i started writing in my notes app LOL. i started thinking about kasa himself- what's important to him? music was one of the first things that came to my mind; he's an idol. and the post was about his love languages and i got to the receiving part and this is for words of affirmation (he needs it Desperately) so it kind of just. yeah it happened i never proofread that much so it stayed the way i originally wrote it yeah

aahhh i constantly remember how difficult starting and ending fics are,,, sorry if it sounds awkward ;v;; i’m also sorry if this isn’t dramatic enough- i’m trying to get these out, but i’m in a funky phase, as i haven’t written in a while;;

It wasn’t uncommon for Mitsuba to watch you do everyday school things. He’d follow you around, playing it off as if he wasn’t. Even now, he sat under a tree, watching you assist one of the clubs.

You were always entertaining… or maybe, you were simply enough to captivate his attention in anything you did? Your arm held high as you caught the baseball tossed your way, grinning at the person who threw it. Though not fond of you smiling like that at another person, the glance you gave Mitsuba practically made up for it- though he still glanced away, as if he wasn’t looking in the first place.

Moments passed, before he peered back up at you.

Your smiling face, as you turned to speak to one of the club members- his eyes darting over at hearing someone yell your name.

“(Y/N)!! WATCH OUT-”

And, eyes back over at you, as the undeniable sound of a baseball smacking against a skull. Mitsuba froze up, only being able to watch as you toppled to the ground. The club members instantly panicked, and Mitsuba did the same- both he and the members running over to you, students shaking you as if that would do anything.

“Idiots!! Don’t shake them-!”

Unfortunately, all of his yelling was futile. Mitsuba was dead, after all, and he was sure that you were too. A bump already formed on your head, as you peeked your eyes open, reaching for your head. Your fingers grazed against the bump, then quickly retracted, as tears filled your eyes. Shouts from the club members to get an adult rang out, as Mitsuba placed his hands on your shoulder, shaking almost as violently as you were. You closed your eyes, shaking as you reached to your head again, only to retract once more.

“(Y-Y/N), it’s okay- a-are you okay?” Mitsuba stuttered out, trying not to get emotional. It was only an injury, right… you were fine. You had to be. You’d be fine. Right?

But, when you only shook your head, squeezing your eyes tighter, he couldn’t help the pure fear that filled his entire body. His eyes grew watery when a teacher finally arrived, already on the phone with, he hoped, the paramedics.

Too much time passed, Mitsuba thought. Too much time spent grasping your hand, tears threatening to spill, as the teacher asked you too many questions. And, the absolute dread at the teacher’s reaction to everything- hearing you attempt to explain that everything went black for a moment- seeing the teachers eyes widen a bit, then eyebrows furrow in frustration. Mitsuba wanted to scream. To yell at whoever threw the ball- he didn’t care if it was a mistake. To yell at the paramedics- it was an emergency! Why couldn’t the emergency vehicle get there sooner??

Finally, they arrived. Paramedics picking you up, Mitsuba following alongside them until you sat in the vehicle. His eyes flickering from person to person, then back at you, until they shut the doors and drove off.

The next few days were like a living hell for Mitsuba. No- he wasn’t living. It was as if he had been doomed to suffer for all eternity. He shook every time he walked past your homeroom, peering inside as he checked for you. Peering over at your desk, praying that he wouldn’t see flowers sitting there. The lack of flowers was the only hope Mitsuba had left. The lack of rumors, the lack of Sakura one day opening up the broadcast with “(Y/N)-san of the baseball field.” It sounded ridiculous, sure, but he couldn’t help it…

Yes, though he’d never say it to anyone- maybe you, but that was a stretch- Mitsuba had never been so worried… he thought, as he finally saw you again, clinging to you as if you were as fragile as glass- that your death would probably affect him worse than his own did. Because, a world without you, would officially be a world without life… without you, Mitsuba knew he could no longer even feel alive.

“You idiot… I hate you so much,” His voice broke slightly, as you wrapped your arms back around him. Much like the moment when he was so sure you wouldn’t show back up, tears threatened to spill. “I missed you. Dummy. I missed you so much-”

hanako <3

There was a part of Hanako slightly paranoid about your death. Not overly so- not in a way that would hinder you. Simply, in the sense that he would risk his well-being to protect you. Yet, there were many situations where he was… helpless.

It wasn’t uncommon for you to enter the girl’s bathroom, though it was almost always to visit Hanako. So, his face instinctively lit up when he saw you stumble into the bathroom- though he felt the color drain from his face when he saw your shakey figure. The color was drained from your face as well, he noted, as he quickly floated over to you.

“(Y/N)?? What’s wrong?” He questioned, pushing the hair from your face, getting a good look at your face. He was already positive you didn’t feel well. He just needed to know how- then, he could help. Surely, he could do something.

“I… I dunno- my stomach hurts, haha… really badly.”

Before Hanako could question further- where did it hurt, what kind of pain- you stumbled into a stall, spilling any contents that were in your stomach into the toilet. Instinctively, Hanako cringed a bit- quickly, he shook the queasy feeling he got off, and stepped over to you, rubbing your back carefully.

When you looked up at Hanako, tears running down your face, he instantly feared the worst.

“Please get a teacher, or Yashiro, or- someone,” You told him, arms securing themselves around your stomach. Hanako quickly nodded, rushing as quickly down the hallway as he could. He wasn’t a doctor, for Pete’s sake- not even close to it. So, he practically flung himself into Yashiro’s classroom, shouting at her from the doorway.

“YASHIRO, (Y/N)’S IN A LOT OF PAIN!!”

Hanako could only ring his hands nervously for a moment, as Yashiro asked the teacher to be excused, floating anxiously beside her for a moment, then rushing back to you when she explained that she was going to get a teacher- thinking for a split moment, as he explained to her that you already threw up. To that, Yashiro nodded, telling Hanako that she’d be sure to make sure your guardians were contacted.

Once he reentered the bathroom, Hanako’s nerves were at a new worst state. His eyes landed on you, practically curled up next to the toilet, sniffling to yourself- he was sure he never wanted to help anyone so badly. He was sure that, if he could, he would take your pain.

“Yashiro’s getting a teacher, (Y/N). A-are you feeling any better?” You shook your head, glancing up at the ghost boy. Your face was slightly flushed with what he was sure was a fever, and your eyebrows were furrowed in clear desperation and pain. All he wanted to do was help.

“I feel like I’m dying…”

Dying. The word “dying” stuck out, striking at Hanako’s nerves as if they weren’t already being tested. You felt like you were dying? Were you?? He sat in front of you, hands shaking violently as he attempted to seem calm. You couldn’t die. No- no, the teacher would come. You would live, wouldn’t you? You weren’t going to die… right?

“It’s okay, (Y/N)- you’ll be okay,” He spoke, rubbing your shoulders gently and placing a soft kiss to your forehead, half trying to convince himself. As he continued to do so, the teacher entered the bathroom, knocking on the stall- though the door creaked open, as you hadn’t had the time to shut and lock it. It wasn’t as if you needed to- the nausea was simply overwhelming.

“(Y/N)? Can you tell me what’s wrong?”

“I’m having really bad stomach pains… I threw up- it hurts to talk,” You muttered, glancing up at the teacher, giving them the same pained look you gave Hanako. They crouched next to you, placing a hand against your forehead, then nodding.

“Where does it hurt?”

Clearly not wanting to move, you sniffled, forcing yourself to sit back just enough to motion around your lower-right abdomen. As if it clicked, the teacher nodded, letting you fall back into the position you were previously in. “I have no room to say for sure, but it does sound like appendicitis. Your parents are on the way, and I’ll let them know to take you over to the hospital.”

Your grip on yourself tightened a bit, panic showing up in your face. Seeing that panic, Hanako could only fear the worst. He knew vaguely of appendicitis, sure- how likely was someone to die from it-?? If your appendix ruptured, he knew it was dire. Did it? How long did it take for an appendix to rupture? Before he could even acknowledge the thoughts running through his mind, the teacher lifted you up, carrying you out of the room.

Though Hanako followed, he was left standing at the doors of the school when your guardian carried you away. The final bell rang, all of the students finally emptying out of the school, as the car you were in drove away. He watched until it was out of sight, silently noting that it must have been the direction of the hospital.

The first few days were practically torture for Hanako. Yashiro’s comments didn’t help- her saying that you went into surgery only worsened his fears. During his lifetime, surgery was… unpleasant, to say the least. They could do it- you could certainly have your appendix removed, but- but what if something went wrong? How had things changed since he lived…? Had it ruptured, were you going to live? What if you died during recovery?

He couldn’t stand it. No, until several weeks passed, Hanako was a nervous wreck. The relief that washed through him when he saw you walking through the school halls was almost comical- that is, if he wasn’t clinging to you like he really had almost lost you.

“(Y/N)... I’m so glad to see you again.”

“Hanako, I’m so glad to see you too. Sorry for scaring you like that… but thanks for sticking with me.”

Of course, Hanako could only accept the praise, unsure how to word “I stuck with you because I didn’t want you to die alone.”

tsukasa yugi <3

Tsukasa, most were sure, wouldn’t necessarily… care if someone around him died. No, he probably loved the pained expressions of someone taking their last breaths. If it was a messy death? It would be better for him, right? Screams of pain, tears streaming down someone’s face, blood splattered around. Natsuhiko half joked that it would be a dream for Tsukasa, no matter if everyone else considered it a nightmare. Sakura remained quiet, shaking her head slightly. You… disagreed, as if protecting Tsukasa. Maybe he wouldn’t… as eerie as your boyfriend could be at times, you loved him nonetheless- and you were sure you didn’t fall for someone who would… enjoy…… others’ pain…?

Hm…

Either way! You were sure you didn’t fall for someone who would enjoy your pain!!!

Those thoughts were just that- little thoughts you had. Thrown into a few conversations between the fellow people who frequented the broadcasting room. Nothing you really wanted to prove, you know? No, you’d rather assume it, and not go through anything particularly painful to prove it.

However, those weren’t necessarily your thoughts as you tripped over the rug, one of Sakura’s tea sets in your hands. The hot tea in them went flying, landing all over you- but, that wasn’t really your focus, as you landed with a harsh thud. The glass cracked underneath you, the uncomfortable sound of shattering filling the room- accompanied by your scream- at first being echoed because of the fright of following, but being finished off because of the feeling of glass splintering you as if you were the fragile object.

Your scream ended in a cry, tears quickly clouding your vision as the sharp pain coursed through every spot the glass had harmed. Sakura’s eyes went wide, and she stood up, aiming to walk over and help you- Natsuhiko did the same, exclaiming your name once he saw you began to fall, a bit quicker than Sakura was- Mitsuba could only stare, as if his fight or flight was activated. Before any of them could reach you, Tsukasa was there, shouting your name and cupping your face.

Tsukasa wasn’t bothered by the blood, as if he could be bothered by any blood, pure worry crossing his face. It was a rare sight- Tsukasa genuinely concerned- but it wasn’t like seeing a bloody (Y/N) on the floor was exactly common. It was no one's focus, as the other three finally were gathered around you. Protectively, nearly forgetting your injuries, Tsukasa held your head to his chest- glaring at the others.

“Go get a nurse!! (Y/N)’s bleeding-!”

Natsuhiko nodded, rushing off, as Mitsuba glanced around panickedly- Sakura pushed Tsukasa away from you slightly, as if to let him know to be careful. His hands wandered to your arms, holding them carefully, peering at the glass, then up at the tears streaming down your face.

“Don’t pull out the glass. It could make the bleeding worse, and we can’t be sure where all the glass has landed. Especially in their arms.”

Tsukasa nodded a bit, glancing at his hand when one of your tears landed on it. He ignored the blood dripping onto his palms, quietly licking the tear that fell onto the back of his hand. That wasn’t enough to distract you though- he half hoped he could take away your pain, but was discouraged to only be met with your shaky sobs. His eyes wandered along the shards sticking out of your arms. Dangerously close to places he knew they couldn’t scratch- an artery, he knew, would be beyond dangerous… what if, when the glass gets pulled out, you’re met with the spewing blood that comes with a punctured artery? Looking around at the blood dripping everywhere- were you… dying?

Tsukasa froze up a bit. (Y/N)? Dying?

Well, he was dead… Amane was dead. Mitsuba was dead. But… what would happen when you died?

Would you become a ghost? Or would death be the final separation for the two of you- would Tsukasa be trapped on earth, while you moved on to whatever afterlife there was??

“(Y/N) can’t die,” was his only thought, as Natsuhiko returned, gently explaining that he was going to carry you to the nurse- then, your guardian could come at take you to the hospital. However, once Natsuhiko’s arms wrapped around your torso, Tsukasa grabbed Natsuhiko’s closest arm. “I- I can take care of them. I’ll carry, (Y/N).” “Runt, you’re a ghost. For real, don’t screw around. Let me carry them, hurry now,” He spoke, lifting you up. Tsukasa stood, balling his hands up slightly nervously. Oh, a nervous Tsukasa… it was also such a strange sight- watching Natsuhiko speedwalk with you in his arms, Tsukasa floating alongside them. In fact, Tsukasa remained with the both of you- holding your arms carefully, until you were entering the car, towels placed around you to keep the blood from spilling anywhere. He watched the car drive off, unsure how to process anything.

The next several days were… difficult for Tsukasa. He wasn’t sure how to deal with it, yet he found himself peering into your classroom to see if flowers sat on your desk. He found himself paying closer attention to the rumors spread- listening carefully for anything that sounded similar to you. He wandered the halls, as if he suddenly lost his purpose- keeping an extra eye out for a person, or ghost, with cuts from shards of glass littering their body.

Tsukasa was his… clingy self when you returned. He hugged you as tightly as he could, not wanting to release even when you warned him about your still healing arms. He placed countless kisses to your face, giggling out that he was so sure you were going to die. Even when you questioned his thoughts, Tsukasa continued on, kissing the scars, scabs, and few stitches on your body. Yes, he really was glad that you were alive. Be it for selfish reasons or selfless ones, he couldn’t be sure- he just knew he was glad.

It was a normal day for Hanako

You two were walking around the school

You begged not to clean the bathroom and he suggested this

He was really enjoying this time with you

That is until a supernatural showed up

Hanako tried to rush to you but he was too late

You were stabbed by the supernatural in the left side of the chest

Your heart...

Hanako quickly ran to the supernatural and killed it before it could dare hurt you anymore

He turned to you in shock

He ran by your side picking you up into his arms

You looked up to see he was crying

He was looking down at you petrified

Tears running down his face

He always valued life and wanted you to be able to fully live yours unlike he was able to do

But your lifespan was just cut short

Before you could say anything he opened his mouth

“Please don’t go..! I’m sorry..! I'm so sorry!!”

This was the first time you saw Hanako cry…

You place your hand on his cheek and slightly smile

Tears were at the corner of your eyes because LETS NOT FORGET THE FACT YOU ARE STABBED

“I-I’ll be fine Hanako… I have dextrocardia… I will live…”

He looked at you confused

All he really heard was ‘I will live…’

He quickly wiped his tears with his sleeve and brought you to Tsuchigomori

They brought you to the nurse which bandaged you up

Tsuchigomori later explained to him what dextrocardia was and he was so relieved…

He stayed with you the entire time while you were in the nurses

He was shaking a bit

He thought you were going to die

He placed his hand on your right side of your chest and once he felt your beating heart calmed down a bit

If you bring up him crying after the incident he will get really defensive

“WHA- I WAS NOT CRYING! I have no idea what you are talking about!”

It will be a half an hour later and he will appear in your class and hug your back

“WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOUR HEART WAS ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF YOUR CHEST-

When you two are cuddling he will put his hand or ear on the right side of your chest

You will probably never see him cry again-

He loves to take you anywhere and everywhere

When he is fighting a supernatural he doesn’t want you in the fight but he won’t mind if you watch

His s/o can watch just how good of a fighter he is!

He was about to kill it (giving it a bit of a slow death) but what he didn’t see was the hand that reached to you

He heard your scream and looked to see you impaled

He instantly snapped the neck of the supernatural and ran over to you

He looked to see the wound on the left side of the chest

That’s where the heart is…

He puts his hand on your wound trying to stop the blood

He watched as the blood trickled down your body

He was quiet

He didn’t have control of the situation anymore…

Without question, he picked you up and used his wisp to bring you to the broadcasting room

He brought you to Sakura because he didn’t know who else to bring you to to make this situation better

Sakura stared at you shocked, freaking out a bit thinking you been impaled in the heart

“I have dextrocardia…”

Hearing these words make her calm down a bit and process the situation better

R.I.P. Natuhiko in the back freaking out and crying thinking you are going to die and R.I.P. Mitsuba almost fainting to all the blood-

Sakura bandaged you up surprisingly well for not being a nurse

“SO SHE'S NOT GOING TO DIE SAKURA?!?!” Tsukasa shouted.

“No… she has dextrocardia. She should be fine if we stop the bleeding. She should still go to the nurse's office though…”

“She said that word earlier! What does it mean?!?!”

“Dextrocardia..?”

“Yeah!” The three males shouted at the same time

After she explained dextrocardia to the three boys they were relieved

I just want to say Sakura probably really happy that you are safe because its nice to have another girl in the broadcasting room and she sees you as a really good friend

Tsukasa loves the fact you two get along but is also jealous that all your attention isn’t on him >.<

ANYWAYS-

“Y/N!!! WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME YOUR HEART WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF YOUR CHEST?!?!” Tsukasa jumped on you nuzzling his head in your neck

“Tsukasa! Y/n need rest! Get off her!” Sakura started to pull him off of you so he doesn’t undo your bandaging

“EEEH?! CUDDLES~!!”

Tsukasa loves the fact that your heart is on the other side of your chest

He thinks it's uniquely cute!

When he hugs you from behind, you might not notice, but he puts his hand on the right side of your chest to feel the beating

He loves the fact it is so unique and precious!

Even if you don’t care or dislike it, know he loves it!

Kou loved going on walking with you

He just LOVES IT

He will hold your hand and bring you new places he thinks you would like

So when he found out there was a couple beautiful sakura trees on school grounds he had to show you

He decided you two should have lunch there

He told you that he would make you lunch today and that he had a nice spot he wanted you to see

What he didn’t know was that there was a supernatural that lived in the sakura trees

And it wasn’t too friendly…

It was a bit of a blur to him

He felt like the supernatural was trying to smite him

A ghostly laugh was hear when he say you pierced in the chest

Where your heart should be

Kou was in shock for a bit, his brain trying to tell him that you were fine while his eyes said a different story

Once out of his shock, he yelled to you with his staff in hand

Sparks started to form as he tried to hit the evil female spirit but she vanished before he could touch her

Kou quickly rushed to you

He crying hard while holding you in his arms, not letting you go

You look up at him

You knew you were fine

“K-Kou… don’t worry… I will be fine”

“WHATDOYOUMEANYOUWILLBEFINEYOUJUSTGOTSTABBEDINYOURHEARTY/NYOUAREDIEINGILOVEYOUSOMUCHICANTLOOSEYOU-”

You put your finger to his mouth

“I will die if you don’t do anything about these wounds…”

He was confused and wanted to to tell you you were wrong but he did as you said

He burst into Tsuchigamories office like-

“SPIDER SENSEI! I NEED YOU TO HELP MY Y/N!! SHE'S BEEN HURT BY A SUPERNATURAL!!”

“SHH KID! STUDENTS COULD BE AROUND-!”

He had Spider sensei take care of you

When you told him you had dextrocardia he acted like he knew what that was but he didn’t

He would talk to Tsuchigamori after and he would explain it to him

He would later look up more information on it and ask Teru!

While you were resting in the nurse's office Kou skipped the rest of his classes to watch you

He brought you flowers everyday for you with a sweet note on it

‘I hope you are doing okay <3’’I’m so glad you are safe!’ and ‘I will always protect you, I’m sorry’

He tears up a bit remembering the moment he thought you were going to die

He will sometimes think what if your heart was born on the left side of your chest…?

He honestly sees it as a blessing and gift

He is so thankful that you were born that way

If for some reason you start to complain about you dextrocardia, he will stop you right in there

“Well I am personally very grateful that you have dextrocardia… if you didn’t have it then you would be gone from me and I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if that happened…”
